Hello! I was wondering if their is still room for this. If so, is it possible to make a character that "Has no connection" to the Naval Intelligence Department, but is secretly working for them? He just happened to be on the Moon base when this all goes down doing "work".


Can you explain a bit more what you mean by 'has no connection', etc.? People in the intelligence services already essentially don't exist, you can't be much more rogue. Incidentally you're welcome to make an intelligence character

Morning all, just a quick update on my to-do list for today:
  • Finish Nomad tab
  • Post my primary character sheet

Its worth bearing in mind that if you were for instance a hired killer or black bag infiltrator that Naval Intelligence paid as an 'asset' - on a contract by contract basis - that would also work.

when it comes down to it, the ship's guns plus improvised armament of the other bots and themselves should be more than enough firepower. hopefully. I'll probably add the mini-guns in the Ghost EVA unit's image to their description to compensate as well. I should probably also make it clear how many of them there are, which is about 140. collectively they would weigh about as much as 4 humans I think

edit: also might add dog sized


Yeah i'd think they have enough machinery to make it work somehow. Cool, add their weight and the other bits to the char tab when you get a minute :)

Wow, I read through the Nomad's ability and my impression is that they are powerful as F (no offense, I like powerful adversaries). I mean, powerful units, great minds. How to defeat them is the thing I will have to speculate a lot when I get into this. Now this is fun.

Yeah i was gunning for powerful Luckily it was taken off line in the final battle for Earth. At least thats what we've been told.

I can confirm the IC opening post is being started as of this evening people! Re-read the OOC OP, fine tune your character and prepare what you're going to open with.

Name: Gulin (Often referred to as Gul's)

Status to Humans: Gulin are on relatively good terms with humans, although they have declined to take part in any fighting when asked, they will provide arms and equipment.

Life expectancy: 102 Human Years

Genders: Male/Female

Full Description:



The Gulin are a species from the liquidic planet Gauss Prime. They are a species of creature akin to octopi, with 6 tentacles (2 of which they have learned to walk upright on outside of liquid.) The Gulin have 3 eyes on their pointed heads that they use to see 300 degrees in front of them. The Gulin also have a tusk below their eyes that is used to eat the Gulin Slug, the sole food that the Gulin can digest.
Gulin are extremely resilient, and can maintain life in most situations. Although due to their strange formed body, they must use a space suit to maintain a "suitable" appearance for others.

Type of society: Due to their survivability and relatively docile natures, Gulin outside of Gauss live independently, often as traders. On Gauss most Gulin form small cities, where they live independently. Gulin do not partner, instead they reproduce by inseminating eggs at a centralized location. Gauss do develop friendships, and are know for being friendly, but have difficulty with societal dramas. Gulin independence has created a "follow your tusk" mentality, where excelling in something you enjoy is of the utmost importance.

Technological advancement: 3, Gulin have utilized others technology, but have yet to create their own or fully understand it.

Miscellaneous: Gulin use a device that translates vibrations in their body, to auditory language. Gulin stand nearly 8 feet tall on average.

I thought it would be fun to play this species. They're part of a game I've been building and thought this would be a good way to flesh out their character.

@Fury Panda An interesting species, however i feel that its unrealistic to assume that a 20ft octopi can squeeze into an 8ft space suit. Would it not be easier to just have them grow up to 8ft long? I feel like having an ability to pop out an extra 12 ft could become a bit overpowered and confusing for other roleplayers is all. If you reduce their height to 8ft then your species is accepted! :)

Character Idea

Full Name: Nippikin Zekliaoson

Known as: Dr. Zek (pronounced Zeek), or just Zek

Species: Gulin

Gender: Male

Age: 41

Appearance:



Zek wears a mostly orange space suit with black trim, and has pale white skin with dark, nearly black, eyes and tusk. He always looks a little moist inside his suit, and most people look at him and assume he’s sad or angry. But, that’s just how Gulin tend to look. (Resting Gulin Face).

Vocation: Zek is a frontier traveling doctor. Due to his interest in medicine and foreign species, this always seemed to call to him.

Personality: Zek is fairly oblivious when it comes to many things aside from medicine. Zek cares about his patients, but it’s not always clear if it’s due to an emotional attachment, or a love of keeping other living things living. Zek is friendly, but does have some people he’d rather not speak with.

History: Zek was born on Gauss Prime, where he learned of his love of medicine, and during an off world trip, alien species. When Zek was of age, he left for a human controlled planet, to learn the ins and outs of modern galactic medicine. His primary instructor Cliff Henderson, passed on his own medical tools to the promising young Gulin at his graduation. Some years later Cliff and the school were destroyed by the entity known as The Nomad. Zek grieved as best he knew how, and attempted to help those he could in the situation without getting involved with military efforts directly. So, he found himself on RX3248, helping the remaining citizens of the once brilliant Ha’Mdama lick their wounds and move forward.

Valued possessions: Zek has a small collection of mementos from every patient that has died in his care. Some people see this is morbid and strange, but it acts as a reminder for Zek to keep trying harder.
Zek has a medical kit passed on to him from his human mentor 10 years prior.

Its looking good but could we please have a little more detail on his family and early life on Gauss Prime? We know that Zek learned medicine there, but nothing else. Apart from that he is acceptable
