LYSANDER

The... the what? The way this guy spoke was alien to Lysander. The wings must have come with a strange mutation to his brain as well because he made Lysander seem like a coward with the amount of overconfidence he oozed. Comparing himself to the gods was a weird touch. The gas mask kid seemed too busy to respond but everything got a little too quiet after a bit. Lysander didn’t know how to respond to what the winged kid said. Acion was a cool name but his attitude made talking a bit awkward.

Luckily he was saved. The supposed protagonist of the class jumped into action, rallying all the students who didn’t seem like they were too into combat training. It was the stuff of dreams, and a perfect chance for Lysander to show off his enhanced strength that his quirk gave him. He ditched Acion rather quickly and ran up to Kenichi, dropping down behind him and hoisting him up as his speech ended, carrying him on his left shoulder. He pumped his right hand into the air.

”Let’s show this guy who the hell we are today! Kenichi’s right, we’re here for a reason and if we have someone like my main man right here then we must be in the right place. I’m no protagonist but I sure as hell expect to be part of the main cast! My name is Lysander, and I plan on being someone you proudly tell your kids you went to school with someday, and I sure as hell expect to tell my kids how proud I am to know you guys too, now who’s with us?!” Lysander said. He had a lot of improv training over the years and monologues just happened to come naturally to him. He would gesture to Kenichi every time he mentioned him and pumped his fist in the air at the end, being careful the entire time to not let any of them touch Kenichi.

He was doing his best to share the spotlight with Kenichi, not trying to steal his thunder. He didn’t agree with what Toni had said earlier that day. Spotlights weren’t just for a single person, theaters were built with more than one for a reason and this was it. It was Kenichi’s moment to shine and Lysander wanted to help, but it was his moment as well. There was no fight over who deserved to be in the eyes of everyone, as they were both in the same spot, and both just as deserving, if not mostly Kenichi. He looked Toni in the eyes and smiled. ”We can all fit under one spotlight, right Toni?” He grinned the most smug anime girl grin a man could muster.

Unfortunately, it seemed that the spirit wasn't going to answer her question, which was disappointing, because if she was a goddess, she'd really have liked to know. But, at the very least, she was fairly certain that she wasn't Amaterasu, so, that much aside, what exactly was everybody shouting about all of a sudden? There was some boy with blue hair who was talking about main characters, and then one of the redheads jumped in and continued speaking. It was all very confusing, but apparently, they were worrying about whether or not everybody in the class "belonged there?"

Oh. This must be because of what Mr. Yoshida said earlier. He was being mean. But these people don't seem mean... Actually, they kind of reminded her of someone who'd always been sure she'd become a hero, and had once told Fumika that she could do the same... She found herself smiling despite nervous excitement, and stopped tugging on her hair. Everyone passing the test and being happy... That was a good goal. They believed in a good goal, so it must have been okay to go along with what they were saying. In that case, she now knew she was doing the right thing. The path of least resistance was easy to find here, and if she did well, maybe these people would praise her, just like Haruka would have? Well, since she agreed with what they'd said, and thought they'd said it well, there was something she was supposed to be doing now, right...? It seemed like they were doing it, anyway, so it was totally normal if she did it too, right?

So, she clenched a fist, raising it high in the air in a perfect mimicry of Kenichi's own pose.

"Let's pass!" She shouted, trying her best to muster the same level of volume that the two speakers had.

...There was silence. People were staring at her all of a sudden.

Huh? Did I do it wrong...?

ACION

Things were going pretty lousy for Acion. First, the analysing of the pink-haired girl about the oncoming exercise, which was pretty logical and well-fit into his likings. Indeed, a hero must prioritize their divine goal of saving lives first before anything, even their own well-beings and safety. Acion commended that, the girl must have had the heart and soul of a true hero.

And then came the exclaims of those two 'protagonists'. Acion couldn't help but chuckle in slight amusement. They surely had the confidence of a hundred men, but half the restraint of a child. But well said! He will take that offer! There is no reason to show restraint! Strength on its own must be demonstrated! Only that would he know his own true power!

"Well enough! Let's bring this challenge to a perfect conclusion!"

He shouted out in joint, his six wings spreaded out in all directions, his two palms facing upwards as if he was holding something. A signal of readiness.

Jett Haven

"Kasuke," she answered curtly. This immediately confirming with her tone and how she answered, she was going to be a tough one... Great! He loved a good challenge.

"And 'not at all' might have been less painful, but then we wouldn't be talking, and god forbid that happened," she said with a slightly sarcastic backhanded tone that he easily picked up on."So, what's your quirk? Was it something to do with shouting? I head you shouting when we were getting to class, but I didn't hear what you said or saw what you did. I was on the other side of the school." She was at least engaging in conversation, either out of proper upbringing...the most likely, or she was intrigued... He was going to go with that.
"True, it would have been less painful and embarrassing. But I have come to know that you can't experience the sweetness of joy with out knowing the bitterness of pain. Also, for a chance to get to know you... I would go through alot more pain." He said with a genuine smile.

suddenly switching gears, he thought back to when they were rushing to class, he did yell but it was out in the yard, and it was saying thank you. But it wasn't THAT loud. She must have been referring to the one who bellowed, which he didn't hear exactly as well what had been said. He straightened up his posture...not that he had bad posture before, but there was THAT posture rich people always had. Back straight, chin slightly up. His wide smile turned to a small smirk, one that would be given if someone said something slightly funny.

"No that was not I... with my quirk, I do not need to yell or speak to use it. I try not to use is as much as I can, so I don't have to rely on my powers alone to fight." He looked back at the group as another blonde came up and asked what they think was going to happen. It was indeed odd that there are so many blondes in one class...let alone the same school. He looked back to Kasuke and continued. "I'm going to keep it at that for now, We may soon be battling each other in this training exercise. If we, by odd chance were paired together I will tell you."

Suddenly another student with blue hair... Kenichi... started to give everyone a monologue on how he was the main star of the show. Then becoming the head cheer captain trying to 'rally the troops' As good as it was for those who needed it...even he must admit, it was kinda weird. But to each their own.

He did hear Fumika Yell out "Let's pass!" He chuckled, as he did notice a slight confused look on her face when everyone looked at her. He simply made eye contact with her and gave her a confident smile and nod.

He then turned away from Kasuke, and looked at Kenichi with his arms folded a crossed his chest. Raising his voice just enough to be heard, he then said. "All well and Good Yoshida Kenichi I agree lets prove L Guardian wrong ... But I don't see the 'main character' standing before me it takes a lot more than just yelling and claiming the position. I would say more like a loud supporting one....or maybe the comic relief." He said with a slight evil grin. He honestly didn't care what the kid said...he wanted to see how he would react.

He suddenly heard the guy with six wings speak up

"Well enough! Let's bring this challenge to a perfect conclusion!"

his six wings spread out in all directions, his two palms facing upwards as if he was holding something.

He blinked a few times. His evil grin gone as blank stare came on his face. He looked back the group while jerking his finger back at the winged man.

"Then you got this guy...." He looked back at him for a moment. "I don't even know where to begin with him..." He said softly,

Akihito Yoshida

Yoshida Sensei watched as the students came filing in, it seemed like everyone accommodated to the gym clothes. "It seemed like those who needed to adapt..did very so, as you know heroes must adapt to their surroundings to stay at peak condition. If necessary...modifying the gym clothes to your liking was what I wanted you to do." he said with a smirk. "Now onto the battle training we will be having...like I said, heroes must adapt to their surroundings that is why I chose training ground echo, a replica construction site for your battle training. You guys will be playing a game I call territories, you guys probably call it domination. The objective of the game is to own control of majority or if possible, all points on the map. There are 3 points on the map, Point A, Point B, and Point C. L guardian pulled out a device which projected pictures of the Points for students, in the distance of the training ground echo you could see parts of the control points, point A located on the far left, B dead center, and C far right. "The class will be split into teams of 2, Alpha Squad and Delta Squad, students will battle against each other for dominance. You can win by controlling 2 out of 3 of the points before time is up or if the opposing team is out of comission" Yoshida Sensei switched screens on the projector to display teams.

Roy Kusayanagi

Energy Level: 35%

A Cloaked Figure walked out from around the back of the group, the man stood at 5'8. "Greetings Yoshida Sensei..Fellow Students, I am Roy Kusayanagi from general studies department, I will also be participating in this exercise. Pleased to meet all of you" Roy's eyes darted aound the other students, they came in all sizes, Tall students, Small ones, Cute ones, and creepy ones. the hooded boy made his way to the back of the class and awaited further instruction.

Akihito Yoshida

"Roy will be joining us from general studies only because we were short a person, though if he does yield good results he will be transferred to our class, Alpha squad will start over here. Delta squad follow me to the other end of the grounds." Yoshida Sensei took a detour through a bland passage in order to make the game fair and not give delta squad any unfair advantages.

Roy Kusayanagi

Once Roy saw that he was on delta squad he smirked, Yoshida sensei instructed them to follow them and he was the first one to do so, maneuvering through the group and walking a few yards behind sensei. This was Roy's ticket in because of his predicament, if he does well here he can become a step closer to what he wishes to achieve. He looked around the battle field to see if there are any places he can maneuver or use to his advantage.

Mamoru Aksha

As Mamoru was chatting with everyone when the teacher finally showed up and told them what was going to happen. Sure enough, it was player-versus-player in a King of the Hill domination format! Three checkpoints they needed to secure, though they only needed two out of three to claim victory. Point A seemed like a fairly open area with a huge crane, Point B looked like it was inside some sort of building under construction, and Point C was a big old dirty pile with some vehicles around. Mamoru felt Point C would be their best bet; she was no stranger to working in the mud and dirt, and she doubts the others could say the same. Point A was too open and Point B too enclosed. Still, Mamoru didn’t really have any plans beyond going all out and taking over an area; if they stuck together they could surely repel their opponents.

Speaking of which, Mamoru looked over her team roster. There was Acion, the religious guy with the wings. Point A or C would be best for someone like him. Thant here was Seth, though Mamoru didn’t know what he could do. He was a heavy thinker though. Next was Yoshida, the loud one who called himself the main character. He tried to give everyone some pep talk which Mamoru enjoyed. She just hoped he could back up the talk. There was Donny… Mamoru only knew him as the fat kid in class. She didn’t really pay any attention to him. Toni was also on her team, which Mamoru was stoke for. She’ll stick with her for this battle and work together. There was Ezra, though like Donny, Mamoru didn’t know anything about him. And lastly there was Roy, who wasn’t even in the hero course. She didn’t know what that kid was capable of. If he came from generals than whatever his quirk was it wouldn’t have worked well in the opening exam, but it may be more useful outside of it. Mamoru would just have to wait and see.

Soon L Guardian lead everyone from team Delta to their appointed area. Mamoru was pumped to see how she’d fare against these other students in battle. She’d have to go all out, but she also needed to watch her strength. She doesn’t want to kill anyone after all. Still, knowing what her quirk was capable of (And not capable of), Mamoru had to be cunning and strong. She won’t make it if she doesn’t think fast and fight hard. Mamoru was worried about the fact that she didn’t know much about her opponent’s quirks, but she’d just have to figure it out as they go along. ”So stoked guys! Where should we head to first? I’m thinking Point C. Nothing but dirt over there, and a couple of tractors and stuff. I doubt they have any keys but maybe we could move them into walls or something?”

@pkken@Conscripts@Artymis@Rex@Zeroth@McFazzer

Donny Yang

Donny kept digging and digging until eventually his head popped out into a fairly open area. It was a huge underground tunnel, poorly lit. He took out his cellphone for light and realized this was some sort of train tunnel, sans a train. He wasn’t sure if this was also just a simulated area or legit, but Donny was glad to have found this place. He didn’t have much time to explore so Donny simply started crawling along the ceiling a fair distance before digging straight back towards the surface. It took him about a minute before his head popped out of the dirt and found himself in front of some sort of building. It looked under construction, but then again this entire place was. ”Huh. Noted.”

Donny dug back down into the tunnel and went back to the same tunnel he took before. He followed the tunnel back towards where the class was, and making sure that no one could see him where he was, he came back out and stuffed himself back into his Meat Bag. He had some dirt stains on his clothes but that wasn’t really going to be a problem. Wiping his hands on the ground Donny returned to the others just in time to hear Mr. Yoshida tell everyone what they’ll be doing.

”Whoa… Elimination huh? Sounds intense…” Donny said nervously. He honestly wasn’t sure if he could really fight anyone directly. Sure he always had some rage pent up, but he’s never actually fought anyone before. And with his kind of power, what could Donny really do aside from flail at them with his claws? Eat them? That’ll go over well for his heroic career. Still… Donny had a plan. As Mr. Yoshida explained and showed them the battlefield, Donny noted that Point B looked a lot like the building he was at. That would be very important for his scheme.

Shortly after Mr. Yoshida explained what they needed to do, he took the Delta team to their side of the battlefield. Donny was part of Delta team so he followed along. As everyone was walking, Donny spoke out as loudly as he could, nervous about trying to tell them his plan. In fact, he didn’t tell them his plans at all. He just wanted to let them know what they might want to do. ”U-u-uh guys, I… I kinda got an idea.” Gulping his fear the best he could Donny tried to get to the point. ”You guys s-s-should stick together and take Point A or C. For P-P-P-Point B…. Just leave it to me.”

Reina Mori

Lost in her even-more-negative-than-usual thoughts, Reina started slightly when she felt a hand on her shoulder, shrinking away a step instinctively as she looked over to see a very tall boy who looked concerned.

"Are you okay? I'm sorry if I bothered ya but you look down and I can't not do anythin' about it."

The girl's heart sank a bit, and she felt her face start to redden in shame. He was worried about bothering her? She was the one bothering him by not even be able to hide her emotions properly.

"I-I'm fine!..." she said quickly, looking away. "Just... you know... strategizing and stuff..." She knew how unconvincing she sounded even as she spoke, and decided to backpedal slightly. "I'm... actually, I'm just a little nervous about the test. First day jitters and all. I'll get over it." She even managed something of a smile, however faint it was. It wasn't really a lie, and sounded a lot more believable. "Sorry about... um, worrying you."

"YO, NICE TO MEET YOU ALL! I'M YOSHIDA KENICHI!"

Reina's eyebrows raised at the noise, and she glanced towards its source.

Oh. It was the same boy who had popped her ears a while before.

"Loud..." she mumbled, the mild annoyance brought on by the memory seeping into her tone slightly. A second later, she realized she had said the comment out loud, causing her to blush and glance at the tall boy next to her before immediately looking away again.

Kenichi continued his impassioned speech, and though Reina didn't have the most flattering first impression of him, by the end of it she found herself smiling lightly despite herself. He was... silly, to say the least, but between his performance and the other boy's concern for her, she couldn't help but feel at least a little bit better. Seeing a few others joining in with Kenichi's attempt to rouse the rest was amusing as well--most so being Fumika's rather sudden cheer.

Reina's mood was sombered again when Yoshida-sensei began to address them. She listened intently, feeling her worries taking her again as he explained what they'd be doing. Great. She was going to bring down seven of her classmates with her if she messed up.

She noticed Fumika and Jett were on her team, which brought her a mix of happiness and more worry that she'd fail them. Realizing she didn't know the name of the the boy next to her--and by extension which team he was on--she glanced over at him.

"Um, I'm on Alpha," she said quietly with a point to the screen. She looked away from him and to the ground, stuffing her hand back in her pocket. "Mori Reina..."

"True, it would have been less painful and embarrassing. But I have come to know that you can't experience the sweetness of joy with out knowing the bitterness of pain. Also, for a chance to get to know you... I would go through alot more pain."

That was....actually sweet..? Maybe this boy did have some actual charm after all. Though she didn't show any signs of warmth, her body language got a bit less cold. She could see him searching back into his memory, find the memory of him shouting, and straighten up. That was an amusing process to watch. "No that was not I... with my quirk, I do not need to yell or speak to use it. I try not to use is as much as I can, so I don't have to rely on my powers alone to fight."

"I agree," Mina started, "If a hero is so dependant on their quirk that they couldn't make any difference if it was taken away, are they even a hero? Well, in my case I have to fight without relying on my quirk, seeing as how my quirk is..." To finish the sentence, she raised her hand to waist level, palm up, and made it glow with light.

At that point, Mina looked up as a blue haired boy had just started a very loud pep speech, also addressing himself as the main character. Ugh. She knew one boy in this class who she'd be avoiding. A red haired boy also gave a speech, though slightly less loud and more controlled. He was a maybe. Another girl joined in with the words "Let's Pass!" Not that, Mina thought, was a simple, achievable goal that everybody could get behind. Of the three, the tall blonde girl was Mina's current favourite speech.

The six winged boy gave it a try too, even flexing his wings and posing. Last place. Definitely last place. "Then you got this guy," her conversation partner said. "I don't even know where to begin with him." Mina nodded in agreement, turning her back towards Acion. "Well, he speaks like he's acting in a Greek Tragedy, he poses and he has six wings which probably means he can fly."

At that point, the teacher came out, expained that this would be a capture-the-base style game with two teams. She looked at the team listings. The red haired 'Mr. Maybe' was on their team, as was the tall blonde girl, and...

"Huh. Looks like we'll be on the same team, Haven."

Sen Kimoto

Training Ground Echo

Holding up his jumpsuit, Sen grimaced beneath his mask. It looked as though Sen was going to have to rely on his skills without the help of his Hero suit. Just him and his quirk, the bare necessities, a fun challenge. Sen loved a good competition, mano a mano. Kenichi looked to be as fired up as he was, another student suggested they stick together. And though he liked the phrase 'gas and harass,' Sen doubted that this would be a huge team effort if Mr. Yoshida was testing their individual aptitudes. Turns out he would be wrong a out this assumption.

All dressed up in his new digs, Sen jogged to the training grounds, trying to catch up with the main crowd. He arrived just in time to see Lysander lift Kenichi onto his shoulders, both boys seemed to be rallying the class. Sen grinned but kept his posture relaxed as always, arms crossed lazily and his hips tilted slightly. He peered over the heads of most of the class and he gave an encouraging thumbs up to the Kenichi and Lysander. A little energy never hurt anyone, especially with the threat of expulsion looming over them if they failed this test. Even with everyone getting pumped up, Sen took a moment to take in his surroundings.

The training ground was modelled after a construction site, lots of precarious debris and machines that were in the way. It looked like a classic hostage simulation, the construction buildings being a perfect spot to do so.

Mr. Yoshida had been waiting for them, and finally he cleared his throat and began to explain the exercise. Class 1-A was to be split into two groups, Alpha Squad and Delta Squad. The two teams were to fight over dominance of the training ground, which was broken down into three sectors. Conditions of victory were to control two of the three sectors by the end of the time limit or incapacitate all members of the opposing team. The training exercise was the real-life version of the Domination game mode found in many first-person shooter games.

As the teams were announced, Sen moved to go join his new squad. An ambitious flare sat in his eyes, he would do his best to help his team succeed.

Seth looked over at Mamoru and nervously laughed as he rubbed the back of his head and apologized, “Sorry about that. Didn’t mean to rattle off like that.” When she mentioned something about being number one he cocked his head and said, “I’m not really looking to be number one. I’m just looking to help those in need. However, this one hero can’t save the world thing is true, but sometimes hero’s aren’t those with Quarks. Those without them can be heroes as well. At least that what my dad says.”

Another student, Yoshida Kenichi. Jumped in front of them all and proclaimed he was damn sure he had what it took. He rattled off something about the main character seat and Seth laughed, “Yes the main character seat. The one by the window, but a good show will hide the main character until he is needed. So in actuality, every seat could be the main character seat.” His dad was right; this was going to be fun. Knowledgeable, dangerous, and stressful, but fun. Yoshida yelled some more and Seth found himself getting more and more pumped up.

“Yeah, we’ll pass with flying colors!” Seth yelled then recoiled as he realized how loud he yelled it and whispered, “Sorry.” Something about this group made his act like he was with his friends. It was exciting and he kind of liked it.

Mr. Yoshida talked about adopting and express that they could alter their suits. He nodded and tried to rip the sleeves off, but stopped. He then opened his hand and let the silver liquid seep from his hand and morph into scissors. They hardened and he tested them by opening and closing the blades. He nodded before he carefully inserted the bottom blade of the scissors into the fabric. He began to cut through the sleeve until it fell off from the shoulder. The cut was smooth and clean. He then took the scissors and did the same thing to the other sleeve. Once the sleeves were off. He carefully folded them several times neatly and placed them in the pockets of his track suit.

Once his track suit was altered he listened to Mr. Yoshida. Everything he theorized about this training was absolute wrong, but he didn’t mind. This type of training seemed much more realistic than anything he could come up with. Mr. Yoshida described the type of training and noted his team mates and then jumped when a new person seemed to appear from behind them. He let out a sigh and then followed Mr. Yoshida towards their starting point.

As he followed the group, Seth started to think. He could see Mamoru seemed to be thinking as well. He was unsure what his team could do and all he knew was what he could do which meant they needed to know each other’s strengths and weaknesses. Mamoru suggested they take point C and he understood her reasoning. The guy named Donny Yang stuttered out he could take point B. it was reckless, but he really didn’t know any of their Quarks.

“Maybe we should know each other’s Quarks and their strengths and weaknesses. This way we can effectively help one another and not go bumbling around,” Seth said before he realized he hadn’t even introduced himself yet. He decided it might be good to know everyone’s name instead of calling hey you. “Names Seth Rush by the way. Figured if we’re going to work together, we should know each other’s name and as for my Quark.” Seth extended his hand and let the silver liquid seep from his skin. It coated his arm up to his elbow and then hardened.

“It’s called Liquid Metal. I can create liquefied metal and hardened it to create weapons or armor,” Seth Explained as he knocked on the metal around his arm to show it had hardened before he added, “However, I can only use it so many times. To create it, I need my own blood to use it.”

Acion peered over the roster, in which Mamoru was holding, acknowledging all the names of his own teammate, and also the three location of the battleground. Point A's only notable feature was its high crane, pretty useful for a resting point for observation, but in exchange it allowed his opponents to engage him at a height, thus negating to some point his high ground advantage. Point B was pretty pointless to take control, since it is a building framework, thus hindering his flight effectiveness. The building was also high, although not as high as the crane, so they can make use of it against him. It might be possible to engage point B for elimination, but that wasn't the ultimate goal of the battle. Point C however, had almost nothing of height. Only sand dunes and a few vehicles. His perfect vantage point to use his techniques.

Acion then looked at the enemy team's roster. He did not know what his enemy's capabilities were, nor some of his own teammates as well. It's the first day of class after all. But provided that his observations and intuitions were correct, then the transparent guy might be the only one who was able to match his flight capabilities, for his form of body may allow him to float like how ghost tales described such creatures. Of course, Acion did not mean to say that he was dead and was resurrected. Death is eternal, there's no such things as resurrection. So when you don't know yourself and don't know your enemy, the best possible strategy is to go with the most reasonable. And Mamoru seemed to understand it pretty clearly.

Still, they could still obtain an advantage. He could execute a fast takeover with his great speed. And even better, taking someone along for defense in case he was counter-attacked. His overall strength was pretty mediocre, but he could still carry someone lightweighted with him. Probably Mamoru or Toni, since carrying the others would probably be a bad idea, because of the weight difference. He should probably ask them in advance.

"I'm heading for point C, since it's the best area to take advantage of my strength. I will be able to carry one of you two there for a quick takeover, but it's your choice whether or not to do it."

@Experiment 249Kenichi found himself lifted into the air by a tall redhead who introduced himself as Lysander, as the rest of the class responded more or less favorably to his speech. There were a couple who looked like the serious types, who had probably just labeled him as a case of chuunibyou or something, but that was fine--the speech hadn't been meant for them, after all.

"Hell yeah! This guy gets it!" Kenichi said, thumbing his nose like Bruce Lee. @FeyblueThen, the girl with long blonde hair and glasses mimicked the two boys--in an oddly frame-perfect way--and let out her own war cry.

Maybe it was her voice, or how robotic her action was, or just the more subdued nature compared to Kenichi and Lysander's complete gung-ho, but everyone kind of stared awkwardly at her. Kenichi, however, jumped down off Lysander's shoulders and gave her a big thumbs up and smile.

"Yeah, you get it too, don'tcha!" Don't worry about other people, went the unspoken gesture. You do you.

The guy with six wings added his own bit, though it had less of an anime feel and more of...Shakespeare? He then proceeded to spread his wings and hold his hands up. Was this what the people on the internet called Praising the Sun? Kenichi grinned at him too, though.

@AerandirA blonde guy, on the other hand, said that Kenichi didn't strike him as a "main character." More like a loud supporter...or comic relief. The guy grinned in that way provocative people grinned. Kenichi met it with his own challenging smile, showing off his canines as he slammed one fist into his other palm.

"Good! Every main character needs somebody to look down on 'em, too! Just be careful you're not the guy who gets blown away in the first chapter!"

@RexAnother redhead, the guy who had come into the classroom with a bag of metal tools, pointed out that sometimes the Main Character Seat was a fakeout, or that shows would reveal a real protagonist later. Kenichi crossed his arms and nodded his head knowingly.

"Sure, the bait and switch! We have enough standout hair colors in this class for that to be the case--but now I've made an inspiring speech that lifts the rest of my nakama up! That's two points I have for protagonism!" He pumped his fist triumphantly.

Yoshida-sensei arrived, along with a new student who seemed to be a fill-in from the General Studies department. So that meant whatever they were doing required even teams? Sure enough, L Guardian explained that they'd be playing a territory domination game--capture two of the three points and hold them, or disable the enemy team. Everyone was paying attention to the teacher now, instead of him, but Kenichi's big smiles and shining personality were suddenly replaced by a look of consternation. He had just told everyone that they would pass, but now they were going to compete against one another after all. Would the losing team be expelled? Surely Yoshida-sensei wasn't planning to cut the class in half on the first day, it wouldn't make any sense. The blue haired boy looked down at his fist. Only one option, then: He had to make his team win, and make the other team stand out at the same time.

He was on Delta Squad, which according to the projector screens included Acion (six wings), Seth (the second redhead), Mamoru (the pink hair with the shield and glasses), Donny (the fat guy), Toni (the other blonde, Lysander had talked to her before), Ezra (holy shit that guy was tall for a teenager), and the Gen. kid, Roy. Unfortunately, Sen, Lysander, and the mimicry girl were on the other team. Fortunately, the snarky guy called Jett was also on the other team. The others on Alpha Squad were all unfamiliar to Kenichi, since he had only seen them and hadn't really interacted with them yet.

As the two teams took their starting position, Mamoru took the lead on Delta and began a strategy session. Kenichi started doing more warm-up exercises.

@Lucius Cypher"Area C's no good for me, all the loose dirt would mess with my breathing. If I absolutely have to, I can either limit my intake or hold my breath, but that either makes me weaker or has a 5 minute limit, considering I'd be doing lots of activity." He said when she brought up starting at that one.

Donny said he could take B by himself...but he didn't seem the most confident.

"No offense, Don-kun, but you're gonna have to give us more to go on than that." Kenichi said.

Seth pointed out they needed to know each other's Quirks, and explained his own. Kenichi nodded and did the same.

"Mine's Hyper Ventilation. My super breath can kinda sorta move things around, but its real use is to oxygenate my blood and muscles. On our ranking system, my Power and Speed are both B class and I'm highly mobile." Which reminded him.

"You guys should know about as many of the other team as possible, too. The kid with the gas mask, Kimoto Sen, he can breathe a paralytic cloud. He's a real bad match-up for me, but anyone who can hold their breath or resist that kind of thing can probably beat him if they get close."

Acion didn't explain his quirk, but it was fairly obvious. He offered to transport someone to C, and said that'd be the best place for him. Kenichi would have thought A would be a good fit too, but maybe he thought the other team would climb the cranes to get at him.

"I'm not real good at battlefield strategy, just hand-to-hand stuff." Kenichi said to the others as he finished warming up and started taking faster breaths to get his blood pumping. He wasn't in full on vacuum mode just yet, but the pressurized air made a slight whistling sound. "Unless you guys just insist on me playing some kinda role, I think...No, I definitely have to go for direct engagement. You guys split up however you see fit, but I'm gonna patrol the whole field and take on everyone I find. I'll start with A, if that helps anything."

The way he worded that might have struck some of the others as odd. He wasn't going for direct engagement because he thought it was the best option, or because he thought it would help their strategy. He was going to try and fight the entire other team on his own because he felt like he had to.

Flashy battles are the best way for a newly introduced character to show off. If they do well against the protagonist, that hypes them up even more.

We're ALL gonna pass this.

Kenichi narrowed his eyes, and lowered himself to the three-point start.

Mamoru Aksha

”Sure Acion! I'd like to be able to get to the action ASAP. As for my quirk, tada!” Mamoru opened her hands and created her Aegis. The shield was large enough to cover her entire torso, though not her whole body. Not yet. She spun her shield around on her finger and even tossed it towards a cement wall, striking hard enough for her shield to break through the wall. Admittedly, it was actually much simpler than it looked. All she really did was knock over the bricks. Still she summoned her shield back to her hand good as new.

”My name is Mamoru, and this is my quirk! Aegis is a shield I can summon to me whenever I want. It stops any attacks dead in their tracks, from dodgeballs to bullets, to tackles and even cars. The moment my shield touches them all momentum stops. I'm also pretty good at throwing shield and I can always summon it back if I miss.” While Mamoru’s quirk wasn't that impressive compared to others, it also meant Mamoru can rely far less on it. Physically she was strong and athletic, and while she may not be a trained fighter she could still brawl with the best of them.

As she spoke Kenichi spoke a bout about what he could do and what he was going to do, which made Mamoru point at him accusingly. ”Hey hey! No lone wolves. We work as a team, or if nothing else, you get a buddy.” Mamoru also thought about what Donny, Seth, Acion, and the others. Mamoru was no tactician, but she could bark orders with the best of them. ”We need a strong foundation to work from. Point C would be best for us. Yoshida- Erh, I mean Kenichi, could blitz for Point A I don't expect you to fight everyone alone and win, but I do think with your speed and power you can stall them. Acion after you drop me off at Point C you should help Kenichi. With your combined mobility and strength you should have no problems defeating whoever is at Point A. The rest of us will hold down the fort at Point C. And Donny,” Mamoru looked at the fat kid.

From appearance alone Mamoru didn't think much of the kid. But she's seen enough anime to know it's always the meek and unassuming ones that had a deadly trick up their sleeve. Mamoru wasn't going to pretend she knew what to do with him, because that's not her strong suit. Donny would have to know how to use his abilities the best. ”Do what you gotta do. Try to give us some sort of signal when it's safe to head over to Point B. Otherwise if you don't come back we'll just assume you lost.”

Donny was surprised that some didn't think he could take Point B. Honestly, he wasn't sure if he could either. But he had a plan, a plan better than just rushing in there and trying to take everyone out. He just needed to be sneaky about it. Kenichi spoke his doubts about what Donny was capable of so Donny explained his quirk just a little.

”Well I… I can eat things. Anything, s-s-super fasts too. I can eat endlessly and I'm always hungry so um… I figured I'd j-j-just sneak up on the guys inside Point B by digging underneath. I could p-p-pull them into the ground, or maybe throw a rock at their head when they a-a-aren't looking. Then I just keep digging until I w-w-win. If they t-try to move to any of the higher levels I can eat the support beams and maybe cause some major s-structural damage.”

That was the basics of Donny's plan, though a much more sinister thought occurred. This idea he had was admittedly more powerful, but also deadly. He wasn't sure if he could stomach it, but if he wanted to prove his strength he had to be willing to go all the way. Taking a deep breath Donny looked up to everyone, slightly more confident. But also… Dangerous.

”T-T-They will learn… That they won't be p-p-protected in their castle… They're be prey in a cage.”

Jett did notice the light that came from Kasuke's hand. He was totally joking about the the blinding quirk, as he had never seen her even use it. Funny how it worked out that way. Must of been fate. He never met anyone who had that quirk, the same as the first one documented. But sadly he couldn't say anything at the moment as they were engaged with the others.

After his comment about the winged man, he noticed out of the corner of his eye that Mina nodded in agreement, turning her back towards that same man "Well, he speaks like he's acting in a Greek Tragedy, he poses and he has six wings which probably means he can fly."

Nodding"I Dare say, a bit over the top with the acting as well. " He with a little smirk.

The teacher came out, debriefed them on the exercise, and showed who would be on what team. He was glad to see Reina and Fumika were on her team, and his heart skipped a beat when he saw that Kasuke was on it too...and not even a moment later he heard her say,

"Huh. Looks like we'll be on the same team, Haven."

He looked over to her with his hands on his hips. "You might want to contain your excitement a little more." He smiled jokingly as he ripped off his jacket and tossed it on a sign post nearby. The teacher had mentioned altering their clothing. Well if he didn't have to wear a stuffy jacket, he wasn't going to. Leaving just his white tee shirt on. "Heaven forbid, people might think we are friends now right?" He added with a wink before walking towards the rest of Alpha team.

Roy Kusayanagi

Enerygy level: 33%

Roy followed Yoshida sensei through the field, there wasn't much of a view he could get to see anything.

"maybe we should know each others strengths and weaknesses"

the cloaked boy began walkin slower as he heard his squad discussing strats. He listened in as the boy named Seth Rush explained his quirk pertaining to metal. "Thats a pretty versatile quirk" Roy said peering over at his demonstration. Now this piked his interest in what the others can do, next was a purple haired girl who displayed a shield, it seemed like it was the ultimate defense though it could only cover so much room. "A good defense, it would be a good idea to go with..Acion I believe? A good protection for the aerial support"

A rather large boy said nervously that he could take on Point B, though everyone else weren't completely trusting of him Roy felt otherwise. "If you believe you can do it then I am all for it, just give it 100%" He said poking a hand through his cloak and giving a thumbs up, a blue haired boy called Kenichi explained that he can blow large gusts of wind as well as oxynegate his own muscles, a good all around ability. "Impressive" This is what the hero course contained? There must have been equally strong people on the other team, Soo cool. He then explained about a boy on the other team with paralytic gas, pretty much is a counter to Kenichi. He then explained how he would skirmish on the battlefield starting with A, "If thats the case then ill head with you to A, if we let you go alone and you have to face that gas guy and his comrades you'll be in trouble, Ill go with you." Roy said placing his hand on the boys shoulder. "As for my quirk, you guys must be wondering why I wear this stupid Cloak" Roy pulled his hood down revealing his appearance. He had sunny blonde hair with seagreen eyes, He then began untying his cloak and pulled it off, his gym suits sleeves were cut off revealing the Tribal Markings on his arms. "I passively pull in solar energy from the sun when my tattoos are revealed to sunlight, this energy is at my disposal for me to use via defense or offense. I can even make it dense and form basic constructs from my arms and legs like a sword or a shield, or if I wanted use, a tenth of my total power and shoot blasts solar blasts. He said demonstrationg, his eyes and markings turned a bright yellow as he activated his quirk, he formed a claw on his right arm and a shield on his left. "The problem is I have a limit to how much energy I can store, the more energy I contain the higher the temperature my body rises so I rarely even close to 100% or I could suffer from heat strokes and the latter." He stopped activating his quirk and the constructs faded off his arm. "I can keep up with you though hopefully Kenichi" He said placing his hand on the boys shoulder, his hand was warm to the touch. "So who is next for show and tell?"

Ezra

Ezra was quite surprised to hear what the girl was stating. He didn't know her name, her story or anything about her but in that moment he had shown more sympathy toward others than he had in his entire life. He listened to what she had to say, and whilst he knew it wasn't wholly true, he let out a smile. He knew that type of person, and he knew for a fact that they would think they said something that displeased him if he didn't smile. He figured he'd let her lie to herself until the end of the exam, where he could hopefully have a more heartfelt conversation with her. He waved as he was summoned by the team that he was placed upon.

He didn't really have many feelings about the team he was placed upon. Yes, he had a transfer student and the fat looking one, but he didn't tend to judge people based on appearances or anything else. If anything, he was excited to prove himself. Even if it was less about the combat and more about the teamwork, less optimal teammates made him feel as if his performance would be noted a lot more win or lose.

Around when he was standing with the team and discussing strategy was when he heard the fatter student speak out. He spoke about going alone to point B and digging. The concept sounded pretty smart up until he spoke about throwing a rock at them. This was when something clicked in his mind about an intelligent use of his quirk where he began to pick up stray rocks and pebbles off the floor, and put them in his sleeves. Whilst he was annoyed by it, he had a clever plan in mind and was excited to see how it could work in a real scenario. He figured this would be a good time to explain his quirk to his teammates as well.

"Well, I guess I'll go next if ya'll don't wanna. I'm Ezra, in case ya hadn't clocked. Wasn't tryna be quiet an all but I was thinkin'. Anywho, I'll explain my quirk for the sake of better teamwork. I hope to work well with you all and win this." he spoke in an extremely bland tone. He was definitely not as fired up or focused as the others, but he was clearly in thought and planning.
"My quirk has the ability to speed up anything that I've touched for 3 seconds. I can control the amount something is accelerated." he spoke, not really feeling the need to explain the mechanics behind it. That was all that was really needed to know to work with it.

He took glances at his teammates and gauged their power levels. Kenichi was a lot of talk, but he was definitely one of the strongest in the squad. The metal kid was decently strong, and he had an uneasy feeling about Donny. He spoke as if he was helpless and had no confidence, but he felt as if he was hiding something. He couldn't for the life of him however gauge the hooded kid. Whilst his quirk seemed to be versatile, he wasn't in the hero classes from the get-go which made him question things especially considering that he sincerely doubted the power level of a lot of those in the hero course, so for someone to not even make the cut made him curious in that regard.

Akihito Yoshida

As the students conversed over strategy as well as shared their quirks, L guardian guides them through the playing field, some ideas were alright while others completely idiotic. The group walked for a good amount of time, about 7 minutes before arriving to delta squads starting point, "Alright Delta squad this will be your, I am going to head over to the control station, wait until I say begin before moving. L guardian quickly disappeared back down the stairs he came, a couple minutes later he came over an intercom. ""Alright students, I will recite the conditions to win one more time. Control 2/3 points dominantly or incapacitate the opposing team. Just dont kill each other alright, you may begin!"

Roy Kusayanagi

Energy level: 40%

Roy grinned at tall boy named Ezra, "So im guessing your gonna do some damage with those rocks your picking up, sweet!" Roy said pointing at the hand full of rocks he had picked up. As they got to the starting area he smiled at his team, he took off his cloak fully revealing that his pants sleeves were rolled up to his kneecaps. Yoshida sensei explained that he will be leaving to wait on his signal, once he left Roy turned to his time. "We have one shot, lets make it a bullseye" He said as he bowed his head and focused on pulling sollar energy in, his markings began glowing a bright yellow as he took deep breaths, his body temperature began to rise a bit as he focused. After a moment he hears Yoshida sensei over the intercom explaining the rules again before ending with the word.

"Begin!"

ACION

Acion did not pay much attention to Donny's suggestion, although he found his way of speaking a little bit...contradictory. His choice of words, comparing to his manner. It somehow did not fit. But since there were many strange people with mutated mannerism in his class, he quietly dismissed it. If he was so confident to take on the entire point B by himself, then so be it

So the plan was pretty much set for the battle. This surely would be an interesting one. The thrill of the battle and the threat of defeat. It had been a long time since he experienced this. Now that Acion had been assigned a specific role of transporting Mamoru to point C, it was best that he prepared for it now.

"Take my hand." He said to Mamoru, his right hand extended for her to grip it, as he placed his right leg back in a two-point running position. In his case, it wasn't running, it was flying. Although, for a brief second, the thought of taking the hand of a girl made him a little bit hesitant, he still went on with it easily. This was for cooperation, personal matters could be left aside.

"Hold it tight, I'll take you there in a few seconds."

As the signal was given, he immediately darted forward, his wings flapped fiercely. Soon, he could no longer feel the weight of the ground below him, as he was carried into the sky

Mamoru Aksha

And so the battle begins. ”Let’s go Acion!” Mamoru allowed herself to be picked up by Acion as they head towards Point C, quickly arriving before the opposing team. It helped that Point C was closest to Team Delta’s starting point. Once she arrived Mamoru immediately scanned the area. It wasn’t just a flat open area of dirt and vehicles: there was hills of dirt and gravel that could be used as cover or mild high ground. Certainly be difficult to climb up. Many vehicles were on the ground level, but a few were parked on top of the piles too. This gave Mamoru an idea.

She didn’t know how to hotwire cars. Barely knew how to drive them. But she did know there was a thing inside of them that made the wheels stop moving, otherwise known as the brake. What Mamoru was going to do was force these vehicles into neutral. Dashing up a gravel hill Mamoru slid underneath some sort of big digger. Once underneath she looked for the brake and when she did, she placed her hand between the break and an open space. Then she summoned her Aegis. It was a very little known trick, but something of a technique that Mamoru learned: when she learned how to summon her shield, her shield will always spawn even if the space is too tight. Her Aegis will make space. Typically by breaking stuff. So she made sure that when she summoned her Aegis, it’d break the brake of the vehicles and effectively shift the thing into neutral. All she needed to do now as give these vehicles a push, and down they go.

Mamoru spent much of her time disabling the brakes of these vehicles, and once she got to all the ones on the hills she finally went to the point. Unfortunately Point C wasn’t on a hill, but a flat, dirt area. Wide open and perfect for a big brawl, but not much cover nor hiding spots. A double-edge sword to be sure, but nothing that bothered Mamoru too much. Now it was time to set up her trap. Running back up one of the dirt piles Mamoru used her shield as a shovel and buried herself partially into the gravel; deep enough to be covered, but not so deep that she couldn’t easily spring out. And now all she had to do was wait...

Donny Yang

It was time.

Donny watched as the others proceeded to secure their objective. Donny himself made sure to run off somewhere where no one could see him. It didn't matter where; behind some boxes, in a big pipe, underneath a truck. As long as no one could see him. Once he was certain he was alone Donny took a deep breath. "Focus Donny... Focus... On your strength." Opening his mouth and eyes wide, Donny's black, vicious form seeped out of his meat bag, pooling around his hiding spot. Taking his flesh for later, Donny quickly began to eat into the ground and begin tunneling. He faced the direction of Point B, and after going roughly forty or so feet deep into the ground, he started his rapid tunneling. All the while he spoke to himself, hyping himself up with his madness mantra.

"Stick to your strength. Stick to your strength. Stick to your strength. There's only one thing you can do Donny boy. The only one thing you can do well..."

And so Donny started eating. Not just that though; pressing his body against the dirt he used his entire bulk as one huge, dissolving and eating the dirt instantaneously. He pushed his body forward with his slimy mass and claws, and even used his claws to dig and shovel turn into his body, eating even faster. Because unlike some others, Donny never really learned how to use his quirk for fighting. He was far too cowardly, and his family did not want him to use his powers for violence. Indeed, it was a miracle someone like him even managed to pass the fairly combat heavy open exam. But it was as Mr. Yoshida said; Stick to your strength. And there was one thing that Donny was strongest at.

Consuming.

Devouring.

"EAT EAT EAT EAT EAT EAT EAT EAT EAT EAT EAT EAT EAT EAT EAT EAT."

It wasn't long before Donny reached Point B. He knew he was at it when he dug into the underground train tunnel. Blindly scampering on the ceiling, Donny found the same hole that he had dug previously. If he was correct, Point B was roughly in this area. Now it was time for his horrid plan to begin. Donny began to tunnel upwards but not directly to the surface. No instead about half way up he stopped and changed direction, cutting right underneath Point B until he reached the other side. Or what he thought was the other side. He was just a few meters short, but it would have to do. Once he reached the desired end he started back to the center of his line and ate in circles, growing wider and wider as he consumed more dirt from between the train tunnel and Point B.

His plan was deceptively simple: He would collapse Point B entirely. But not by chewing through it's support beams or crushing it's rooftop, no, it'll be much more destructive than that. He was going to collapse all of Point B into the train tunnel below. He'll turn that castle into a pit. All the while, buried naught but thirty feet underneath the foundations of Point B, whispered the little madman's mantra.

"EAT EAT EAT EAT EAT EAT EAT EAT EAT EAT EAT EAT EAT EAT EAT EAT."
