On the note of Traveler, I'mma say this:
Mass and size relate to her teleportation, not portals. Her portals are limited by not being able to appear more than three stories high, or low. Hence why she couldn't stop the majority of that pillar. Which perhaps I hadn't wrote clearly enough.

On Comet, he'd take some serious damage to his arm by hitting something at those speeds by my understanding. To be blunt, I thought about asking him to take more damage upon breaking his way out, but I felt what he'd done was enough during that scene. I feel that if he punched anything at Max speed he'd be liable to shatter every bone in his arm. The guy can't even breathe at those speeds.

I get your point, believe me I do. It's just trying to get that balance of power when one has several solid abilities.

And Override's character could actually stop Comet by feeding off of his energy, as well as any other character. If you have no energy, you won't be moving.

That's why I went with playing off of the 'day weakens him' gimmick he'd already provided. Reg may very well decide I limited him a bit much for all I know, hence why I've said Reg will finalize it. Also why I normally don't approve people period, when several times now I could have. I'd rather let Reg give that.

But out of the changes I requested, the only one I'm iffy on is the lasers. Do I realize it was a heavy limitation? Definitely. Reg and I talked for ages over Guilt. And we almost declined her. I could be remembering incorrectly, but I think I actually am the one who convinced us to approve her. Though I believe Red was already leaning that way. And we've essentially limited her more through the Clairvoyant interferences. Because as I've stated, she's easily the most OP person next to the High in the entire story at the moment.

The way I figured it was that since he always went the weakened during the day aspect, it would argue that his lasers would be more limited then as well.

I've actually messaged Reg over it with the suggestion that perhaps it could be limited a little less for the lasers at all times, but I'm not along Override to change it until Reg comes back online.

Like I said, I get where you're coming from. I get you're not trying to start stuff and all. I'm just incredibly terrible at explaining things, and an trying my best to make sure everyone understands where my Reasonings are coming from for the limitations.

If his only thing was lasers, I'd honestly probably have them be as powerful as Dragon's lightning and still give him healing at a crazy rate. The more diverse you are, the more you can do at a single time, the bigger the downside needs to be to level them out.

Honestly if Archangel wasn't weak to Iron there would've been issues there. Plus her moral standings limit her, to a degree, on how she can act with her abilities. You know how common Iron is, I assume? Adding those together limit her a fair deal in my mind.

Again, I feel like I sound like an ass writing this. I just hope my point that Reg will finalize that CS, whatever that entails, when he's active again.

All in all I feel everyone is pretty well in the same general power area, minus Phantom being on the low end. And Guilt and Archangel being on the high end.

I don't know that I've explained this properly.

My final note is that your suggestion for slower lasers instead of lacking power is definitely interesting, and I'll be bringing that idea up with Reg.

Right, I'm awake, and I'll be giving final approval on the new bloke as soon as I've finished booting up.

Oh, she is definitely an agent of the Clairvoyant.

Maybe she can try to pick that bone with Jeanne, if she knows that she works for the Clairvoyant directly. Which, well, might not be readily accessible knowledge.

@Feisty-Pants@thewizardguy, it usually isn't, but Epics/Freaks are expected on some level to be agents of the appropriate High, kinda like charity workers are often called agents of God. So even if Spectrum has no relation to the High Energy, her energy powers link her to him.

@thewizardguy, do secular charities work for God or the church? Nope. But they're often thought of or praised as blessings from God by the people who receive benefits. The High leave the vast majority of Epics alone, but people consider them related to the High just because of their powers. Archangel is one in a million and employed by one of the most active High. Energy and Island might have no agents, and the Prescient doesn't communicate to anyone in any way. Venom and Clairvoyant are the most actively interventionist, but even they move in small ways.

Clairvoyant (and the others) is actually allowed a big action by Venom helping to kill Nest.

Actually, I was thinking to myself before I went to bed that I might need to limit him even further on the drain ability. I mean, I never specified on how many people he could use it on or how fast the process was. In my mind right now, I think he could reasonably drain three or more people completely dry in under two minutes, and they'd probably be way too tired to do anything at all within the first minute. He'd also go berserk within this time and do his utter best to kill you due to his violent insanity. I mean, in his background, he drained about five people in slightly over two minutes, and they practically passed out from exhaustion in a lot less time. Anyway, let me know about this Reg if you hadn't already considered it.

I'm going to throw up a post while I can before work.

So he can just automatically drain people just by being in proximity with them? As in they have no chance to resist it? Isn't that a little God-Moddy?

Waiting for clarification from the GMs before I post a response. Either way, her reaction is going to be severe.

Well, like I said in the PM I'm not sure she'd know what happened or who was responsible. Not yet at least.

Further more, Reg and I will be discussing that aspect of his powers when he gets home. I've already mentioned as much to Override, who's game for whatever we come up with in regards to that.

Yeah, the drain does seem to be by far the most powerful aspect of his powers. Lemme throw in my own two cents for balancing. I'm a bit of a powergamer (*gasp*) so I have a fairly good idea of how powerful something will be in the game.

1) Only allow draining based on touch, as he absorbs the life energy through his fingers/teeth/whatever
2) Different people have different amounts of 'aura'. Epics usually have significantly more Aura than normies, making them better meals but also meaning they're harder to drain.
3) Draining continuously can drain a normy fully in 30 seconds flat, most epics require closer to 2 mins however. Drain speed can also be slowed down if Devilstrider wishes it to be. Epics with physical enhancement powers usually have even more Aura, requiring twice as long to fully drain.
4) During the night double draining speed, in absolute darkness quadruple it. That means that in absolute darkness he can drain an Epic in about 30 secs.
5) Using his other powers makes him more exhausted, and feeding can recharge him back to full. In addition to increasing the speed he heals at (although not to Wolverine levels).

These make sense to me, and should allow draining to be a highly viable combat option that becomes vastly more powerful at night. Just my input on the matter, feel free to ignore.
