Well there's no way he's moving the whole ground up, but he might be able to make you a crude set of stairs.

There it's.

A post for those who think that the leadership is being inneficient as well as for those who failt to picture how a typical village can be used to turn the fight into something far more funny and engaging than just exchanging blows with an overgrown chicken.

When you try to do something like this and are uncertain, all you have to do is ask, and we will answer any doubts you may have. Think a bit outside of the box, and I'm sure that you'll find somethin entertaining everytime.

The fact is that I was really hoping that one of you would ask if there was any options you could use to turn the fight to your advantage, but since no one did, I had to demosntrate it.

By the way, @Leotamer and @Mercurial.

I'm not trying to tell you what to do, but if Natus and Leon keep isolating themselves from the group, they are going to get ambushed with increasing frequency.

I just want you to be aware of this once more. They are not on a trip to Disneyland. Consider this a fair GM advice, but behave however you see fit.

I don't want you to think that we are singling you two out. Anyone who does that will suffer the same fate.

I got the picture that it was an abandoned village with a lot of cover to simply sit back and shoot birds out of the sky. It's actually perfect for Regina's fighting style of hide, shoot and move. That and the poor birds won't exactly be ok after hitting a few stone buildings.

Hmm, I think I see an opportunity for Regina to take a lead at least somewhat. That is, if no one objects. I already see a couple of holes in princess's plan.

That being said, is there anything else in the village like holes in the ground or a place any Rocs are landing by chance?

Well, no plan is foolproof, if she can help it, she'll be welcome.

Anyway, the rocs can always land on top of the other buildings, but they'll hardly do so, since those birds almost never touch the ground. As for holes, the only big one is the well in the middle of the village square. I'm sure that Leon (when/if he's around the group and feels like cooperating) can make some more to help with whatever Regina is thinking.

There are trees growing in some parts of the village as well, but they are much taller than most of the buildings. There's a ruined Roman-style aqueduct nearby as well, hidden among the woods and undergrowth. This one will require better eys to see, but Regina should be able to do it, since spotting is her expertise.

Okay, first off; the last thing I left off on in my post was Leon saying he was going to get water. I never said anything to the effect of "he went over the hills and far away and off into the sunset". He was going to do that in the event we actually stopped to make camp in earnest. Claiming that my character buggered off somewhere is interpreting what he did extremely liberally to the point it's almost godmodding.

Secondly, what's this horseshit you're spewing about my character isolating himself and not co-operating? That's not only completely contrary to what he would have been doing, but about the only thing that gives it credence through this entire roleplay is your absurdly liberal interpretation of my last post. Or are you trying to suggest the fact I haven't posted yet means you get to make up what you want about my character? It's been less than a week since my last post, and others have yet to post as well, yet I'm the only one aside from Leotamer that's getting this kind of ridiculous guff, so yes, in spite of what you say, I'm starting to feel singled out.

First off, you would be wise to manage your tone. If you're not going to use appropriate diction in this OOC, you can take it to the PMs. Second off, read KoL's OOC post and point to me where they say either your character or Leo's is not being cooperative. Are they away from the group? Yes, but that's not a bad thing and it's not like we said they were over a hill. Being separated from the group makes them more prone to danger since they are in a new territory and we gave you a heads up on that. Nothing has happened to them.

Furthermore, you seem to be reacting to this in a less than called for manner. Even if KoL misinterpreted your post, there's no need to go around throwing accusations. A simple comment and the GMs can edit it because it could have just been a misunderstanding. As for this "singling out" you speak of, we already told you any other people not with the group would have gotten the same warning because again, this is a new and dangerous territory for the Cadets. Not sticking with the group could result in extra danger.

I suggest you check your tone before replying to either me or KoL.

It's not the same post, but it's still right here where everyone can see it. Furthermore, KoL hasn't been the least bit respectful in how they've formulated their posts. The hell is "They're not on a trip to Disneyland" supposed to mean, other than talking to us like we're idiots?

But I'm sure neither you nor KoL have any intention of recognising any wrongdoing, so I'm going to go. And no, I don't care what you do with my character.

Voice and intent are difficult to tell over the Internet. I see KoL's words as being blunt as opposed to being harmful. Though that's really something to take up with KoL themselves.

Well considering you don't even give us the chance to, I suppose there won't be any editing of any mistakes. Since you just assume our intentions and actions. Farewell for now; I assure you, you won't be missed. Not with that attitude.

I suppose this is also a time to address the rest of the player base. If anyone has a problem of any kind, please feel free to address me or KoL in a polite and cordial fashion. As opposed to bottling it up and then exploding to the GMs for no reason.

So uhh, barring what just happened I guess creating any more holes is out unless Regina decides to use her entrenching tool. The original idea I had for Regina to employ is also out, but I'm sure I can think of something with that aqueduct.

I feel like Merc did over-react, however I do feel like there is some misunderstandings about the character.

Natus is suppose to be a flawed character, he is paranoid, socially inept, and probably a bit aggressive. However, he was built that way and was approved with that in mind. To give some insight into creating him, I had already joined 2/3 other RPs at this time (I am not sure if one I joined before or after this one) and I already had feel the aggressive bruiser archetype, the timid support archetype, and had a flat out crazy character. So I decided to create a character that I had never really played with before of a sneaky rogue character. And considering the premise of this RP was that the people just below the best of the school were sent out on a mission, I decided to make my character a young prodigy, someone who isn't a master of their field but shows great promise.

If my character carelessly ran off to fight monsters, that would be one thing. But of all the things to accuse my character of, carelessness should not be one of them. He is hyper-vigilant to the point of paranoia. And while I probably should be more clear how far away from the group he is, I feel like you need a pretty ungenerous interpretation to presume he is far enough to be considered reckless. Even when he does warm up the group, he is going on the outer circle of the group as that is how he fights, usually stealth and trickery.

I also feel like his point was misinterpreted after the first fight. Where he said he was going to obsurce the group's footpath, and then the commander chided him for acting alone and presumed that he was going to scout ahead. Footpaths typically are behind where you are going. I didn't bring it up as I didn't really feel like it was that important.s

I feel like I shouldn't have to justify a character that was approved. If you want to have his flaws come back on him, that is good story-telling. However, it feels like he is being criticized for doing reasonable things.

I feel there is a great misunderstanding here. No one is saying your character or even Merc's was being reckless. All that happened was KoL gave you a friendly warning that amounted to, "Hey, this is a bit dangerous for your characters, just a little notice." That's all it was. Just a GM heads up to warn you of possible danger that might not even occur.

For whatever reason you and Merc reacted explosively and defensively to KoL's warning. Perhaps it was the directed nature of the post that alarmed but to clarify further upon Windel and KoL;

For being a stealthy rogue who can operate away from others, you are still confronted with risks for choosing to play in such a manner, and KoL is firmly establishing now that the possibility of threat exists so that if such were to ever occur, it would not be from out of left field but because of a conscious decision to operate based on a riskier play style that brings you satisfaction in playing your character.

The lesson is: Do what makes you happy, but accept there is danger in a lone wolf play style just as their are advantages.
