Well while I question that line of tactical assessment and recourse, the post is formatted adequately.

I tried to think like a guerilla fighter when writing the post coupled with the knowledge of KoL's answers. I also was trying not to have too solid of a plan because Regina is still new and all of them are under a stressful situation. Probably could have formed something much better but I didn't feel the character would know enough for that.

I mean, i get she may want to be a guerrilla fighter, but when you are already engaged and surrounded from the air, it's more of a detriment then a benefit if they attempt a retreat and only expose themselves to attack trying to break for cover. Birds of prey kind of excel at diving upon prey like that.

And that's not to mention that this expedition is into monster filled lands, so if the Cadets can't rebuke adolescent birds, they are going to have no hope in the future. So the Princess would probably see them come together in defense then scatter into the woods which could hold even greater threats amidst the dark of leafy boughs then flee with their tails between their legs.

It's not like we have some objective to be completed at all cost, like blowing up a vital bridge along a supply line and can't afford to get bogged down, otherwise Regina's tactics would be perfect for the situation. It's time to grind EXP, not save your MP for the Boss~!

I see your points but honestly you're gonna miss a lot of shots fighting anything, especially birds in the air. Only way to truly hit them with our current equipment is either forcing them to land or getting the right angle on them with a ranged weapon or magic. Complete retreat isn't something Regina is really wanting, simply because it'd be impossible to outrun birds but it is possible to fool them. A tunnel or basement would actually be perfect actually long as there was another way out.

That being said, the objective actually is the monster the cadets must capture. Monster filled territory isn't the best place to fight, well, monsters unless you got the drop on them. Don't have to fight everything after all.

Considering that;

1) Everyone but Althea, Esther, and Regina have close-to-short range weaponry the missed shots aren't a concern for most.

2) That there is bait (Leblanc) implies the intention to manipulate the Rocs into a predictable position to strike them.

And, again, retreating into unknown territory is dangerous if they come upon yet another monster and find themselves confronted on the ground and the sky. Avoiding fights may be all well and good but one mistake and you'll find everything you snuck passed is running to stab you in the back. Stay, fight, and you'll have relatively secured a point to organize and operate out of as they plan to capture the target monster.

Gradon is nowhere near Natus to properly interact to that.

To be frank; Neither Windel or I even understood your post, so forgive him for glossing over it as he responded to everyone.

Additionally, he made no attempt to coordinate his efforts verbally with the others so it's not like anyone knows he's also volunteering as bait. Just that a small explosion somehow happened off to the sides of things.

//Because apparently I am really bad at communicating tone with my typing I will make this clear, I am not angry. I am just frustrated.//

While I do not plan to leave this rp right now, I guess I should go ahead and say that I am considering dropping this RP so if I do, it will not come out of nowhere.

I am not angry with anyone or anything, but just frustrated. My two/three primary concerns is that I feel like I was expecting this to go in an entirely different direction, (and as such made my character under those pretensions.) And lastly, communication is just really bad. At lot of that is my fault as a writer, but if I can not get my points across than there is little point in continuing this RP.

Honestly, if you continue to ignore my posts as though they did not happen rather than asking me to clarify, that will lead me to dropping this RP. Why make posts if they are going to get glossed over. And while Natus did not communicate his plan to the rest of the team, so I can understand them not knowing what he is doing. He was making himself loud and bright in order to draw the attention of the Rocs.

“I don’t know where Natus is. But if he’s survived this long with his hit and run tactics, he’ll survive this,” he told Ires...

I didn't ignore your post outright. As I said, Gradon is nowhere near Natus' location so I can't interact with him. I didn't ask for clarification because I'm not with Natus, and thus, won't interact with him.

To question the content of the post; We have a group of cadets who haven't been in live combat with any real cohesion before. In the initial ambush and against the wolves, everyone acting on their own with only a few efforts to cover for one another, so we can't expect great teamwork especially when people scatter for cover as they have.

Not once have we seen Natsu act in a way that wasn't the subversive saboteur backstabbing enemies, so why would we expect distant explosions out of sight of most people to be a distraction, and not Natsu defending himself? By your logic Regina is being a distraction by shooting her loud gun repeatedly.

Natsu is a lone wolf who likes to operate from a distance. We've covered this before, and that there are detriments to that playstyle. He needs to communicate with people and not expect people who don't know, trust, or understand him to assume he's feeling self sacrificial at the drop of a hat.

As for your continued presence in the RP, that's up to you. Since you yourself concede these issues stem from your own lacking in areas there is little we can do, and most efforts to molly coddle the RP end in people taking offense to the babying. Then situations like this happen and we all look silly, so suffice it to say you are welcome to stay but we won't cry if you go. Either way we all hope you improve your diction to a level you enjoy writing and we can find legible.

Szeren also had a long range weapon actually. Light crossbow. But yeah running into the forest is a bad idea but not using the trees in the village. That being said, speaking of ideas, those trees and aqueduct can also be used as sniper positions or something else.

Hmm, I don't think Regina will trust the princess unless she explains much more of her plan. But it is clear the others don't want to simply evade at this point. I'll wait for Ires's response before I post again as that's important.

Man, being the non-glory seeker is great! And the dissent for the presumed leader haha.

Edit: Interested to see how Ires reacts to the dissent and alt plan. For fluidity I give permission to bunny Regina in order to ask about what Ires is planning with that rope and her contigency. That is if you want.

I'll get a Tzi post once I'm no longer enjoying the relaxation known as watching Science Ninja Team Gatchaman in bed.

CROWDS is pretty great and has Iwasaki's OST, but goddamn is the original a ride.

You can tell how this thing became a classic. It's definitely a 70s superhero show, and I'm pretty sure it's either the originator or the first to do that colour-coded team with a hero, snarky number two, pink girl, little kid and big guy thing that literally every other show does after it.

We are mostly waiting on Esther's reply at this point. We can move the battle forward as soon as she decides what she's gonna do.

So, according to the princess' plan, Esther is supposed to grab the rope from the well, jump to atop the steeple, then throw it using her wind magic to the top of the city hall where Gradon and her would be waiting? Setting up to trip a roc with the rope, right?

Basically that. While the others cover her and, hopefully, Regina. That's the easiest thing that come up on my mind when I typed that post, even if it's a bit dull, it's likely to be efficient.

The thing I saw about it is while it could work relying a awful lot on a single piece of rope and the bird coming in from one specific angle. It also depends on how the rope is held/tied. If held by the cadets they can be thrown off the building. If tied to the building, well, these are ruins. They might not be stable enough to hold.

It'd work much better with a safety net in order to catch the Roc with more ease in case one didn't do as depending on the angle they could go under or even completely over the rope. Honestly if we had no other choice it'd be a decent plan but it can be made even better with amy one armed with a ranged weapon behind the bait for when the Roc sweeps. That way one can hit it easier and the bait has a bigger chance of survival and trap has a larger chance of success.
