Reina was still seated, now with an uncertain frown. It wasn’t like she had expected for nobody to ever find out she was related to the principal of Komei, but the implications of the fact that could be drawn made her nervous to have it out in the open as it was now.
Nurse Kiwi addressed her, getting her attention. The girl glanced between the healed Ezra and Jett, having found the nurse’s process and quirk to be... unique? A little unsettling, as well. Reina couldn’t imagine what it must have been like for those who were afraid of bugs.
The girl shook her head softly upon seeing Acion enter the room just as Kiwi finished speaking.
”I’d like for you to heal everyone else first, please...” She looked away, hands in her lap, unsure how a nurse would take such a suggestion.
I’ll live for now.” While she was covered with injuries, none of them were all too terrible—the worst being her gut from Acion’s last hit. The feather that had stabbed her under her collarbone was still there, so the wound wasn’t bleeding much either.
Kiwi turned back to the girl,
“Oh? You’ve been waiting quite a bit, besides your injuries must look worse than they really are since you're waiting so patiently. It will be quick then I can get you out of her.”” she said to Reina, Kiwi believed she was related to the principal. The student was just relaxing like nothing was wrong while something was lodged in her collarbone.
"I promise they will be fine, you have nothing to worry about. It's your turn for treatment” she said with a light smile.
The girl frowned, not wanting to go against an authority figure but equally not wanting to delay treatment for anyone else for her own sake. She opened her mouth, her voice caught for a moment, the uncertainty she felt apparent on her face.
She glanced around at the others in the room, gaze never lingering for more than a half-second. Finally settling on looking at the floor, she gave an almost imperceptible nod, guilt burning her cheeks.
”Just my stomach and left arm, then—I can’t really move it right now. And my tongue I... guess...” Reina trailed off as she realized how her tongue would have to be healed. A minute expression of disgust flashed on her face for a moment. She wasn’t afraid of bugs, but having them in her mouth... it wasn’t a very nice thought. It hurt the most though, and she wouldn’t be able to eat normally while it was healing naturally. She sighed, coming to terms with what she was about to allow the nurse to do.
”I’ll deal with the rest of my injuries on my own.| The light cut on her right arm and the dozens of bruises on her body weren’t fun to have, either, but she could live with them, if it meant lessening the amount of Kiwi’s time she took up.
The dark-haired girl moved out of her seat towards the nurse to let the woman do her thing.
As Roy came back to reality, . He shot up out of his bed fast before a hard throbbing hit his head. He sucked his teeth, before placing his head to the area where we got kicked. He looked around seeing plenty of familiar faces. Ezra, Acion, Lysander, and even the girl from point C who had some kind of gravitational attraction. He noticed that she was just sitting there relaxed though she wasn’t in good shape at all. Was that a feather stuck in her collar bone? He looked towards the nurse who had bugs crawling all over her hands, he quickly snapped his head in another direction facing the girl again.
“
"Your pretty tough to just be sitting there peacefully despite being in bad shape," He siad with a smirk.
“The name is Roy Kusayanagi, nice to meet you” He said with a sincere smile
Reina shifted to face the new voice that addressed her, this time from the boy she had seen before her fight with Acion. She winced slightly from a shot of pain that ran through her body from the movement, breaking her careful, desperately maintained composure for the first time since the end of her fight. With the adrenaline wearing off, she was finally beginning to feel the damage done to her.
The girl paused, glancing towards Acion as she remembered what he had said to her a while earlier.
”I’m just... stubborn, I guess.” She stopped again before adding
“...Mori Reina,” as her own introduction.
Kiwi smiled as the girl gave in, Reina began explaining what she needed to be healed.
“That's not that bad” She also insisted that she will deal with the bruises and cuts. “Don’t be so stubborn, I can patch up all those while I work on your more serious injuries. What kind of practitioner of medicine only half heartedly treats their patients.”
Kiwi assisted Reina with getting into a bed, in order to treat the cuts on her body she would need her to be laying down, one she was all ready Kiwi pulled to provide privacy for the girl.
“I’ll be brief” She said as she held her arms over the girl's body, the mosquitoes flew off her arms and onto the girl's body, they worked on reducing the welts while a large colony of ant like creatures split into 3 groups, One to work on the cut on her arm, another to clean up her stomach, and the last group to work on the small cuts. The ants made their way into the skin on her left arm as they, curing Reinas traumatized skin and removing the bruise slowly. She could see her natural color soon return to her arm almost like a wave crashing onto shore. It felt like tiny pins picking her skin following a immediate soothing, soon the cut on her arm was no longer visible as well the ability to move like new was returned to her.
The ants on her stomach had been working just as hard, sealing the cut on her stomach till it wasn’t visible anymore. The welts and cuts were gone as well too, “Alright time for your tongue now, just close your eyes and stick your tongue out, it won’t be as bad.” Kiwi waited for the girl to open open her mouth before the small ants began working crawling onto her tongue. She could feel the tiny little feet walking on her tongue, the ants began making the healing paste and applying it to the wound. After a minute and a half, the bite wound was no longer there, a few of her mosquitoes came by and cleaning up all the blood that was on her tongue. One they were done ants hitched a ride with the mosquitoes to escape the girls mouth.
“Alright you're good as new, don’t feel bad about being healed. It is my job to make sure each and every student can get back to training as soon as possible” she said putting her hands on her hips. The bugs all began returning to the arms.
As Kiwi said, it wasn’t nearly as bad to be healed by her quirk as it might’ve appeared at first glance. They weren’t wild insects, after all—they were completely under the nurse’s control. The relief of being rapidly rid of her injuries helped as well. It was hard to really mind bugs crawling on her when they were taking care of much worse pain. Even having her tongue healed was far more off-putting in her own thoughts. No longer having to taste blood and deal with the sting was nice.
The girl glanced to the ground as she raised herself carefully off the bed, only being affected by intense soreness now. Still with a light blush, she was unable to keep herself entirely from feeling bad, but she nodded regardless.
”Sorry...” she said instinctively, but caught herself quickly enough.
“A-and, thank you...”Ezra had awoken from his slumber. To put it in his terms, he was tired as a motherfucker and despite the treatment that he had recieved, he was still quite achey. The fight hadn’t particularly dealt much damage to him other than the damage that he did to himself, it was moreso the energy he expended doing basically everything for his team, yet he still couldn’t bring himself to be mad at them because he didn’t know the results of the match yet, and to be honest, gauging by the people in the hospital room, he had a bad feeling. If they had lost, he wouldn’t be very happy about it, especially given the things that he had to do.
He noted his locale. He remembered arriving before blacking out, and he was quite surprised that he had gotten up so soon after arriving. He was an extremely heavy sleeper, and definitely enjoyed staying in a non conscious state when he was tired, so he was confused as to why he got up, when he noted the people surrounding him. He saw Roy, Acion, the girl who had spoken to earlier who he had just caught the name of, and the nurse. She had a dangerous look about her that he had saw sometimes back at his hometown, yet she didn’t seem particularly threatening.
He figured he might as well be social and make some connections given as it was his first day. He didn’t exactly have a problem speaking to people, and he didn’t feel as if anyone in this room could particularly be a threat to him later on based on what he saw, though the girl did look promising to him in terms of ability.
“Yo, I’m impressed. I hadn’t taken ya for much of a brawler when I had met ya, but I’m definitely impressed.. I saw it all. Good scrap” Ezra spoke with a soft tone. He didn’t really have much energy, so his voice sounded a lot smoother and less imposing than it normally would given his background, but his accent was still very prominent in his speech.
Reina blinked and looked away, taken off guard by another compliment. Her first thought was that it wasn’t like she had accomplished anything. A loss was a loss no matter how she ended up there.
She figured she’d never be good at taking compliments.
”Thanks...” she said.
”I... didn’t really see your fight. Tunnel visioned on my own, I guess...”The dark-haired girl glanced around the room again, a faint smile beginning to show on her lips. Win or loss, there was at least one thing she could feel relieved about.
”...I’m glad everyone is okay,” she said softly, as though to herself. She turned slightly to Kiwi, and gave the nurse a sheepish bow from her seat on the bed.
”Thank you, again. Sorry for the trouble.” Of course, she had said it was her job to care for them, but that didn’t excuse the girl from showing gratitude for it. The class
had taken the exercise rather...
seriously, after all.
Roy smiled, he was going to respond but after hearing that her tongue had been in pain he felt bad making her reply to him. He waited for her to get healed, the boy then noticed Ezra had been awakening, he kind of almost didn’t want to face him since he disobeyed and lost team delta their lead because he didn’t listen to him. He would have to it though and take responsibility if he was to live with the guilt.
Roy was beginning to feel cold, he took of his cloak and began bathing in the sun, he could feel the energy going through his tattoos letting out a sigh out of how good it felt to warm up. By the time Reina was done getting healed, Roy was at about 20% energy since the sun had been hitting both his arms and legs. Ezra spoke, complementing the girl but you could hear the tiredness in his voice. Roy slightly heard Reina say being thankful for everyone being alright. He turned his head and faced the window looking out to the sky, he then turned back to the girl.
“I’d say we’re pretty glad everyone is okay too including you...It would suck if a classmate would have to stop their journey on day one” He said rubbing the dirt off his cheek.
Acion was watching the entire conversation unraveling, and a few glances were casted at him. He would love to join them, but now, he should refrain from moving or making loud noises, since it would pain him or disturb the nurse. This was an infirmary, and as he can see, several students were still recovering.
Seeing that the nurse had finished healing Reina, Roy and Ezra, the six-winged angel casted his eyes onto her, his expression saying ‘are we ok to begin?’. Begin the healing process...and begin facing those bugs.
Kiwi smiled,
“Your welcome, and don’t be sorry dear”. The girl was a sweetheart she almost didn’t want to give her a shot. Nah she always wanted to give people shots, she then turned to Acion. “Alright young man, now it's your turn” She took Acion over to the bed and layed him down. “I remember you tried to run away from me, oh how fate can be cruel” She said as she ran a finger down his body.
“I’ll patch you right up” She said smiling, she she let the bugs flow off her arms and onto the boys. Immediately diagnosing what was wrong with the boy and reporting it. A damaged rib seemed to be the worst of the boys issues, the mosquitoes split and went to deal with the bleeding on his leg while most of the smaller bugs began working on the rib that turned out to be fractured actually.
“Oh wow” She said as her face got more serious, the ants began gathering and chewing the bone fragments and mixing it with their paste before placing it back onto the boy's rib. They then began repairing the damage tissue around the area as well before exiting the boys body.
The some of the small ants had patch up the wound on the boys league while the mosquitos cleaned up the blood and prevented it from clotting. They also patched up all the smaller bruises and cuts the boy had on his body. As she worked she glared at the boys wings temporarily.
“Those are some beautiful wings you have” she said with a small smile, shortly after the bugs began walking all over the boys face. He would feel a sharp pain then a refreshing feeling on his face as the bugs soothed the irritated skin. The skin soon returned back to normal as the bugs provided the treatment.
Kiwi finished with the last patient, calling all the bugs back to arms. “That should be the last one for Mr.Yoshida’s class, your ribs were injured pretty bad but nothing I couldn’t repair, you will experience a lot of soreness. once you guys feel like you can go ahead and head back to class” She said taking a seat at her desk and taking a break.”
The angel could feel the ants taking every single steps on his face and into his body in order to fix his damaged ribs. He couldn’t help but feel a little shiver going down his spine. Ok sure, they were under the nurse’s control, but fuck it, they were insects. And the feeling of having six-legged character spamming their legs inside of him wasn’t so pleasant. The nurse was right. Fate was being cruel to him, in some way.
But in some other ways, it wasn’t. Slowly, he could feel the ache in his ribs slowly subsiding into nothingness. It was indeed a miracle. He had thought that he would have to spend at least weeks to repair that damaged rib, and yet in a few minutes, it healed completely. Well, almost. He still feel the dull ache in it. But still, that was very impressive, extremely impressive.
Acion, after the bugs finally returned to the nurse, slowly sat back up to face the nurse.
”Thank you…” He paused a little, obviously not knowing how to address her. But then he noticed the name tag on her shirt.
”Miss Kiwi. God bless you.” He stood up from the bed after finishing, trying to get use to his new body: a less injured but less perfect than previous ones. It felt good to move around freely again.
Turning to the remaining three who were still present in the infirmary, the winged boy noticed one of his teammates, Ezra, who just assisted in defending C, the blonde man who chanted encouragement to him and the rest of the team at C before departing, and most noticeably Reina, his previous adversary, the girl he considered the most stubborn fighters he had ever faced. Acion knew how they fared during their exercises, so he needn’t ask. Instead, he turned to Roy, wondering what had happened to him.
[color=fff257]”I did not know what really happened. How did you do in your previous exercise?”[/color
Roy turned to Acion and sat up, looks like it was time to confess his loss.
“Well me and Ezra took control of B. He told me to stay there and secure it but instead I headed to A while he went to C.” He then clenched his cloak.
"I fought with an enemy at point A and lost in the end, she turned out to be a martial artist. I fought evenly with her until we were on our last string, in which I suffered defeat”He lowered his head and gritted his teeth, he felt as if it was his fault. Surely he would have to train a lot harder if he wanted to master his skills and expand his construct pool, it obviously wasn’t enough to take down the girl.
“How was your fight with Reina? You guys both look like you were pretty banged up before you got healed” He said look back and forth between the two.
”So you lost at A and hand its control over to the Alpha team…”Acions lips twitched slightly. Ok, losing a fight shouldn’t be much of a problem. We were all students fighting and training to become heroes after all. Nobody is undefeated. But what concerned him was the reason why he decided to go to A while Ezra wanted him to stay put. Come on, he was holding B for Delta. Why would he have to toss it away and head for another point that could possibly in Alpha’s control. This was a domination exercise, not a gladiator arena.
”If I have anything to reprimand, it would be your decision to go to A instead of holding B. But you might have your reasons, so I will let you realize the mistake on your own.” Acion responded.
”And yes, me and Reina. It was a dance of blows. Very entertaining. I eventually managed to incapacitate her, but not before sustaining several injuries from her.” He casted a quick glance to the purple haired girl with a hint of admiration
”Win or not, it’s an educational fight.”Reina’s interest was piqued when Acion asked Roy how he had done in the training. She felt bad for the boy as he answered, easily able to sympathize, but also couldn’t help but wonder—did that mean her team still might’ve won, even with her failure?
The girl forced a faint smile when Acion looked to her and shrugged subtly.
”I’m happy I got lucky enough to make it worthwhile for you...” she said quietly, immediately regretting the way she had worded the reply. Her hand moved to play idly with her ear as she looked away. Sure, that was how she honestly felt, but she shouldn’t so...
accurately voice her thoughts. She’d learnt early on in life that doing so tended to make people even more uncomfortable around her than her quirk did already.
Inconsiderate. Well, at least it wasn’t the worst thought she could have spoken out loud. Silver linings.
...God, you’re pathetic. Not wanting to continue the conversation, she made an attempt at changing the subject after a pause.
”We should get to class.”Reina stopped playing with her ear as she hopped lightly off the bed, her hands moving to stuff themselves in her pockets—which was when she realized that her jumpsuit had none. She glanced down at her dirty clothing with a tinge of annoyance and a click of her tongue.
”...Gotta change, too...” she muttered to herself, crossing her arms and moving towards the infirmary's door.
Ezra had maintained silent for a portion of time. He wasn’t really bad about the shy girl not taking his compliment, nor was he bothered by Acion saying that it came to a stalemate. He had fought his hardest, and he had witnessed that and didn’t have a problem with the fact that he hadn’t inherently won. What did bother him however, was that Roy didn’t listen to his instructions. He had sat there, and contemplated what he would do about it. He was pretty pissed, but his lack of energy was offsetting him going to beat the shit out of him.
Ezra got up in an extremely calm motion, and given as he was behind Roy, he cocked his arm back and widened his palm. With a large amount of force, not enough to cause damage but enough to put him in a significant amount of pain for a while, he slapped the back of Roys head. The anger that he had transferred to his hand and he felt relieved afterwards, letting out a exclamation of relief, like one would when drinking an ice cold class of water in the heat of the summer.
“If I tell ya to do somethin’, ya do it! Next time I clap ya, it’s gonna hurt a lot more.” he spoke, in an increasingly intense tone, with his accent becoming more and more prominent. It seemed that the more intense his emotion, the worse his accent got.
Ezra had a very prominent aura to him at this stage, that had seem to become present the moment he began becoming emotionally invested again. Strolling past Reina, he placed his hand on her shoulder as he walked past and gave his parting words to her as he left the infirmary
“The next time we face each other, I want to fight you. Don’t disappoint me.” he spoke as he left the room and went toward his locker. He very quickly had a shower, got changed, and wasted no time in walking back to class. He felt he had adequately acquainted himself with those in the infirmary, and he had his sights on a few more individuals. Mainly those who had fought at Point A.
Reina tensed slightly at the sudden physical contact, guard instinctively going up—not helped by how aggravated the tall boy seemed. She didn’t respond, only watching his back warily as he left. After a moment, she exited the room as well with a frown.
”Come on, let’s go.”He had nothing else to say to Ezra, as his actions were pretty much reasonable. Not something he would do, but he could understand the frustration of someone knowing that his teammate had just screwed up. The thing that he hoped was that it did not have detrimental effect on him. If that happened, then the next slap would not be coming from Ezra.
He quickly walked to his own dorm and took a quick shower at the public bath before marching back to class in his fresh and brand new uniform. Now in his mind he wondered who was the warrior who took down Roy at A. He or she might also be a hero worthy of his praise and challenge. It would be entertaining a battle indeed.
“So you Lost at A and handed its control over to alpha team”When he heard Acion said that he clenched the sheets even harder, it felt like rubbing salt on a wound to him. Acion seemed slightly aggravated but he had a ‘what's happened can’t be changed’ kind of tone to his voice. He then explained that his fight with Reina was a hard fought battle between the two, he was glad though that at least he won.
“Ah. I see”Soon he felt a large, heavy hand hit him upside the back of his head causing more pain again, he gritted his teeth and turned around to see Ezra. The boy started snapping on him immediately after despite his injuries,
“Alright Alright! I think I learned my lesson!” He said snapping back rubbing his head, if it wasn’t for that hit being well deserved. He wouldn’t have complied with the boy. Acion didn’t say much about the hit, probably because he wanted to do it just as much. These people were showing some pretty tough love.
“Yeah let’s go”Roy wrapped his cloak around his body and began exiting before he was stopped by the principal.
“Roy once you're done changing report back to Class 1-A, Mr.Yoshida and I will be reviewing the fights how you guys did.” Roy nodded his head in agreement before heading out to the locker room to, showering and washing off the dirt. He retrieved his uniform from the lockers, as he walked back to class he looked outside the windows in the hallway. There was a clear view of Hosu, he clenched the his black cloak and slung it over his shoulder.
“Now is a time better than any other” he said as he opened the door to class 1-A.
