Roy Kusayanagi

As Roy passed the Mina and the tall girl he shook Minas hand flashing a smile and gave the tall girl a small bow in acknowledgment, Mina said a word as he passed.

"Overconfident"

The boy was confused as to what she was saying before, retracking his steps quickly he understood what she meant let out a small chuckle. She must have been refering to what the teachers were talking about earlier.

As he walked down the hallway he tilted his head back and downed the rest of the cherry soda, a smile on his lips once he was done, he solar gauntlet formed on his hand as he crushed the can into pieces. He half turned around facing back at Mine.

"Hold on to this win on me that you have, it will be your last.." He said as he raised his fist and pointed towards Mina, a small grin on his face. This was a declaration of rivalry as the two light based students of 1-A as well as saying that he pay her back. He opened his palm and burnt pieces of the tin can fell out the gauntlet dissipating into dust before it could hit the ground. He turned around and headed towards the classroom, dissolving his gauntlet in the process.

He placed his hand on the door handle, taking a deep breath before walking back it. Everything seemed to be the same just like before he left, well except that Reina looked like she was about to cry. Tears of joy maybe? Roy grinned a bit, day 1 and already he was placed bottom of the barrel.

He had faith though, he walked over to Jett picking up on the last words on the convo.

"I look forward to our fight"

He placed his hand on the boys shoulder, the warmth from his hand a warm 120 degrees fahrenheit.
"After you guys fight each other, I want a crack at the both of you." He said taking his hands off Jetts shoulder.

They might've thought he was crazy, deciding to tackle the two most battle thirsty people in Class 1-A after being taken out by a small girl who knew martial arts. What Roy was thinking was.

Any experience is progress.

Out of everyone, only Lysander and himself knew the damage Ezra could do with his quirk. But he wasn't afraid, more so was he eager to learn. He put his hands in his pocket already thinking up battle ideas against Ezras Battle prowess and Jetts mobility.

Mamoru Aksha

Mamoru listened to Reina’s slow and nervous words. She was definitely a girl who doesn't know how to take a compliment. Probably had abusive or distant parents. It actually kinda pissed Mamoru off, and she let Reina know it. She hated it when people play off their accomplishments. They were either humble bragging or really doubt themselves, which in turn makes Mamoru own heartfelt and extreme actions feel less impactful when others do it better. Placing her hands on Reina’s desk Mamoru looked at Reina eye-to-eye. ”Reina-chan. We don't care about what others could have done if they had your powers. The only thing we saw, and the only thing that matters, was what you do with your strength.” Standing back up Mamoru waved her hand towards Acion to draw a bit of attention to him. ”Between Ezra and Acion, I'd argue that they were our strongest two in terms of quirk power. I honestly didn't expect anyone to force Acion into a serious fight without doing something crazy. And I mean so crazy even I'd have second thoughts about it! Reina-chan, I threw myself into a truck. You threw a truck at yourself! That's nuts and I couldn’t even imagine how that works! But against the odds you made it work and gave Acion one hell of a show.”

And of course Mamoru had more to say. She took a moment to think about what she was going to saw and how to do it. Then she manifested her shield into her hands, looking at it before showing it to Reina. ”And don't misunderstand. We're not saying this stuff because we think you have an awesome quirk. Well, not just because of that. It takes a lot of heart to do what you did. And that's all you, Reina-chan! No one had to boss you around or direct you. It was your head that made up that crazy great plan. And it was your courage that allowed you to look at someone like Acion and think “I'm going to kick your ass”! Hell even when I dropped that crane on your guys, you didn't act like a scared little girl. No way, I saw it before I dove into the dust. You ran towards the falling, shattering crane and stopped it dead in its tracks! You're as crazy as me, but smarter, stronger, and waaaaaay cuter. So!” Leaving the shield on Reina’s desk Mamoru went up to the girl and gave her a little hug. She could tell that she was on the verge of crying and needed the affection and support of her new friends.

”Beleive me. Even if you doubt yourself, trust in me, who has faith in you. I know you'll be a great hero.”

Donny Yang

Donny eventually packed his things and headed out to grab a snack to eat. He wasn't sure if he should be happy or sad that people were ignoring him. He had hoped that maybe someone would have been impressed that he was able to do so much damage, but sure enough they were all just appropriately horrified at the lengths he'd go to claim victory. He couldn't even feel sorry for himself; he was so caught up in proving himself to everyone that he forgot why he was even at this school in the first place.

It really made Donny wonder if he belongs somewhere like Komei Academy. He didn't save anyone, nor defeat anyone, despite all the destruction he caused. He might as well had set off some fireworks during that battle, at least that would have been flashy and loud. He just looked down at the floor depressed as he shuffled his way to a vending machine, spending quite a bit of cash buying cookies, chips, and soda to stuff his face with. He just wanted to eat to forget.

Sitting against the wall Donny opened a bag of chips. Sour cream and onions. His drink was a fizzy grape cola. He lauded his snacks out in front of himself as he ate alone and in silence. As he sat there he could hear voices down the hall. Or maybe it was just voices in his head. He didn't know, he didn't bother looking. ”They don't understand you. They just can't. You are too different, and in this day and age they just won't agree with you. It's just like how it's always been. We've been. Nothing more then a… A pet, at best. If we're obedient we get treats and pats and nice words. But the moment we bare our fangs or growl, we're the beast that needs to be put down. You saw how they all looked at you. They don't even fear you; they don't trust you. They don't think you're a hero. They don't understand what you’re been through and what you're trying to do. They'll never understand you. They don't want to.” Donny thought to himself, eating snacks and quietly crying to himself.

Jett Haven

Jett felt a super hot hand placed on his shoulder, Wincing and reacting he lowered said shoulder and spun around to see Roy behind him. Already He deserved that with that comment he made earlier. It was a bit out of line...he admit he could be an ass sometimes. patting off an invisible fire that was on his shoulder he grinned as he challenged both he and Ezra. He had to admit...kid had a pair...or plain stupid. He will find out later.

With a smile. "You must be confident in your strength to challenge the both of us. I like it."

He was going to stay and talk more with his two opponents. But he noticed two things. Riena looked overwhelmed, he had heard what she had said, about doing only what she could with her quirk, that someone could do it better. He wanted to go over to her and explain that her quirk was hers, and she did something with it that was good. While there was others who would have used it to do bad. That's the difference. But it looked like pink haired crazy was already somewhat explaining that. While she looked overwhelmed he decided best not to head back over there.

He did however notice Donny sitting alone, get up and walk out slowly. The teachers were not kind to him at all, and while they were not...totally wrong. He could tell it hit the kid badly. He seen that look on many kids faces back in middle school. He even had that himself. Looking to Roy and Ezra.

"Well, Ill see you guys later. I'm going to get me a drink." He flashed a smile and walked towards the door. He looked over to Elvira, gaining her attention. "I'm going down the hall.. Be back in a minute!"

He exited the door and slipped his hands into his pockets as he glanced around to see Donny down the hall sitting down and eating by himself. Depressed as hell by the looks of it. He made his way over towards him humming Bohemian Rhapsody before he Noticed Kasuke and the amazon girl leaning against the window talking. He smiled at the both of them. Thats right he wanted to tell Kasuke his opinion."Oh hey, Kasuke. Just wanted to say, The fact that the only thing Yoshida criticized was your 'overconfidence.' only means he couldn't find anything wrong.. He seems like the type of guy who never gives a perfect score no matter what. Your fight was awesome. But sorry I didn't mean to interrupt you two...I just wanted to make sure I said that before I forget...tends to happen time to time. "

He grinned and looked over to the tall six armed girl. Now that he was actually close, he noticed she had pretty eyes. His grin turned mischievous, he was sure she would think he would rat her out for dancing next door. But with the reaction she had when he saw her, and the fact she left the room as soon as he entered. It wasn't something she was comfortable with him knowing. "You got great taste in music by the way." His grin grew even more and he excused himself from them, continuing to hum his song and walking casually towards the vending machine, just in front of Donny. He nodded to him as he continued to buy two drinks, his head bobbing left to right as he got to the more fast pace part of the song.

As he grabbed both drinks he turned around and walked straight to Donny and placed his back against the wall, sliding down with a sigh. Placing one of his drinks strategically next to Donny so it was clear he was giving it to him. He opened his drink and took a large sip. Sighing at the refreshing taste he then smiled. Looking at Donny. " Did you really bring that entire building down by yourself? That must be some quirk you have to topple an entire building." He made sure his voice was cheery, so Donny didn't think he was picking on him, but generally interested. As he was. Though he did agree a bit with the teachers. He also believed that that some encouragement was necessary to learn and never make that mistake again.

ACION

Find better friend?

Not impressive?

Do what it allows?

Acion found her words so amusing that he couldn't laugh. Come on. Understand that she was being nervous and playing off her accomplishment, but not taking pride in actions that were deemed prideful made Acion quite insulted. Not to mention it was approved and commended by her own adversary. Isn't pride the privilege of the mighty? If she couldn't trust her own achievements, then she would hardly become a mighty warrior. But looking from other perspective...wasn't he once so. For a short period of time. Thankfully, to the Gods, that he was pulled out of that dark juncture. She was probably the same, albeit for much longer. She had great potential, if not saying that she was destined.

Acion waved his hand so that Reina's, and the other's, attention could be drawn to him.

"Mamoru is right. What others could have done? Please. Back in middle school I've faced many kids who had much more powerful and flashy quirk, yet they were all incompetent. To God I tell you, none of them even dared to challenge me in the air, even if they have the capability to. You are the first ever."

He was boasting it, but most of it was the truth. Some that were capable of jumping or shifting did face Acion. Others were just too inept to try.

"If you are still in doubts, just look at what you've done to me. For an eternity I never would have thought some non-flying quirk user would fracture my ribs right in the sky, the lion's den. And I do not want to admit it, but if you hadn't been injured by your actions earlier, I might have lost. So don't misunderstand my offer of friendship as something forceful. I don't make friends out of nowhere. I only establish friendship with someone I feel comfortable to be with. There's no better friends. Everyone is equal."

He then turned to the two young girls, the pink-haired girl with shield, and the blonde one that slapped the 'main character' where it hurts. Their commendation and console did leave an impression on the six-winged boy of a fine friend. Speaking about abilities, Mamoru was impulsive and reckless in her actions, which could have left some serious results. But coming with brashness is courage. And to throw herself into the windshield just like how he saw it on the replay required a hefty amount of that. Courage and compassion together, and you have a recipe for a hero. Fumika also showed magnificent will to win her fight, which also drove Acion to thinking that she would also become a good hero. A strange thing was that he was able to meet three competent heroes on the same day, whereas he struggled to find even one of them back in middle school. Perhaps he was a bit too hasty to judge, they might have yet to realize their own destiny, but it was worth getting acquainted with them. He might be able to learn a few things from them.

"You." He addressed Mamoru. "I've seen your fight. Your action is...reckless." The word was probably the most suited of them all. "But I'm not going to repeat what the teachers have said. Nevertheless, your courage is admirable. It would be a great honor to learn that from you."

He held out his hand for her to shake it. Afterwards, he would turn to the remaining girl.

"And you." He addressed Fumika. "I like the passion you put in your fight. Destiny is on your side." He also offered her his hand. Acion went a little bit far with his words though, since they might have yet to walk on their own fine path to greatness. Still, offering them to her may not be excessive

Kasuke Mina

Mina was understanding of the choice not to fight today. Mina was actually still drained from her battles with Donny and Roy. Plus, she had to read the handbook too. Instead, she was asked to give her account of events. She sat down at the window ledge. She gave a nod to Roy upon hearing his parting challenge. There was fire in her eyes too as she smirked back. She'd won that round, and he'd improve his skills between now and the next time they fought. But Mina now knew the nature of his quirk. She didn't have to be cautious next time. She could give him everything she had, and if he wants his word to hold true, he'd have a lot of training to do.

"Alright, Dulga," she started, "I'll begin at Point B. So, myself and Lysander were stationed there, and after a while, I began to suspect that our foes were either above us, below us, or invisible, so I lit the place up, looking for shadows. That's when Donny sent his warning that you heard about in the briefing. So, I cut a hole in the floor. crawled into the pipes and went to find and stop him. I...won't talk about that fight as much for several reasons. Suffice to say that Donny has secrets, and there are things that happened in that fight that I don't want known either. Though I was distracting him from doing more damage to the building's supports, he'd done enough, and the fight above us was enough to bring the building down on us. We escaped together, formed a truce, and headed off. Instead of heading back to B in case that's where Donny went, I headed to A, to find it deserted and battle damaged, so I took it.

A few minutes later, Roy showed up with the same idea, and we squared off. You've seen the fight so I won't go into detail about what I actually did. Besides, I can't quite remember everything. I was running on Adrenaline. I do I know that my thought were always on trying to find out his quirk, making assumption, attacking him based off those assumptions, and if they were proved true, adding them to things I knew about him. In the end, though, I beat him by blinding him, and martial arts, which is the same tactic I started the fight with, so it all felt a bit futile, really. Still, when we fight again, I'll be more prepared."

Mina then looked up as Jett approached and gave her some actually nice encouragement, which took her off guard. She didn't get real encouragement from people besides her mom very often. She actually had to take a few seconds to get the words to form in her head before she responded. "I know that's the case, and he wanted to try and give everybody some constructive criticism, but I've been called that too many times to think he was just pulling words out of nowhere. He has a problem with my attitude. Maybe he doesn't think it's hero-like. I don't know. I can't help it. I won't pretend I'm not as talented as I know I am. I can't lower myself to have whatever the 'right' amount of confidence is without lying to myself."

Donny Yang

Donny was just about to start his second bag of chips when he heard some footsteps coming down the hall. Donny was quick to wipe away his tears, partly to hide the fact they were actually black droplets of his own body, mainly because he doesn’t want anyone seeing him crying. Bad enough that people think he’s a monster, he doesn’t want them to start saying he’s soft too. He just ate his chips in silence when he noticed that the guy who was coming down the hall was Jett, and he had chosen to sit next to Donny. He wasn’t sure what to think of it. From watching the video, Jett seemed like one of those super arrogant guys with too much confidence in their quirks. Kinda like Acion but more normal. Donny wasn’t sure if this was a good or a bad thing.

The first thing Donny did notice however was that Jett had placed a soda can near Donny. As Jett was drinking his own, Donny wasn’t sure if Jett was offering a drink to Donny or just bought two for himself. Donny would’ve brought two for himself. Jett then smiled and looked at Donny, asking him if he really took down all of Point B. Donny lost focus about the free drink and just looked down into his hands feeling mighty embarrassed. ”It’s... Not that impressive. I mean... I didn’t even defeat anyone... It was really stupid and dangerous anyways..." Donny mumbled so quietly that he didn’t even stutter like he usually did. He curled his body up to his knees while still eating from his bag of chips. Cool Ranch this time. ”My quirk... Just lets me eat things... Anything... So I ate the dirt under P-P-Point B. But I couldn’t e-e-even beat anyone not even... Well... No one I g-guess. Didn’t fight no one..." Donny didn’t want to talk about his fight with Mina, partly because at some point he ate her clothes which would be embarrassing for the both of them, and also because Donny was pretty sure Jett and Mina were friends. He didn't want to get into trouble about that.

At this point Donny wasn't sure what he was trying to prove anymore. He wanted to be a hero and the first thing he did was try to collapse a building onto a bunch of kids just so he could show off. That wasn't the ideas of a hero, that was the idea of a total nutcase. Worse still that Donny didn't really tell his teammates that was what he was going to do. No doubt they were expecting Donny to do some sort of stealthy assassination-like take downs on Team Alpha, not go all mad bomber and bring the place down. Even now Donny can't really appreciate the thing he did because it wasn't ingenious anymore, it was just needlessly savage. "I'm just a monster anyways... I don't know what I-I-I-I was thinking, coming h-here..."

"That's wrong, though, Reina," Fumika had noticed somewhere along the line that the others were trying to cheer up Reina as well, and so had remained utterly silent and simply settled for hugging her - at least, up until now. After all, she was terrible at talking, and never knew the right thing to say... It was better to let everyone else speak. They'd know how to keep her from being sad, right? And yet... Fumika felt like she had to say something, because what Reina said sounded a lot like how she herself felt.

"I can copy people, which lets me use their Quirks, too," She started in the only place she really knew for sure: herself, and her own experiences. It might not have been immediately obvious to the others where exactly this train of thought was heading... at least, until she continued. "But I can only create what I've taken the time to copy by watching it, and I don't have much energy to use to create things. Reina is really strong, so even if I made a Reina, I wouldn't be able to do much with that strength before I got tired and burned out. And I couldn't control it nearly as precisely as the real Reina." She hugged her more tightly. "That's why you're wrong. Reina with Reina's Quirk is better than anyone else with Reina's Quirk, because Reina knows how to use it best." This was the best she could think of... The best words that she had to offer. But if it was anyone else, they'd have known how to say it better. They would have understood. She was the strange one, the one whose words didn't make sense. But... then... what had they said to her? Her mind drifted back to a warm summer day spent following the hero she herself had most looked up to. That had been only a little while after she'd met Haruka. And, after seeing how amazing her Quirk was, she'd been more than a little awestruck.

You're so strong and fast and cool. You can do anything! You're like... like a real hero! I wish I had a Quirk like yours, instead of...

Fumika's eyes lit up, and she remembered. The words she'd heard back then were definitely the words Reina needed to hear now. So, tugging her head back, she stared Reina straight in the eye, and spoke with a sudden conviction, confidence, and power that was completely at odds with her usual demeanor, as if somebody had just uploaded an entirely new personality into her brain. Not even her inflection or her body language was the same, but her intentions remained the same.

"'What're you talking about? What kind of Quirk you have doesn't matter one bit. It's all up in here," She tapped one finger on the side of her own head, and gave an uncharacteristically cocky and charismatic grin. "Whether your Quirk's so weak it couldn't even hurt a fly, or so strong that you could beat anyone... I'm tellin' you, it doesn't make a single bit of difference! What matters is your drive - how much you want to succeed, the things you believe in. Stuff like that. That stuff's important, because that's what pushes you to act. That's what decides how you use what you've got, and therefore, that's the only measure of how far you can really go. In the right hands, even a useless Quirk can do a lot of good, while in the wrong hands, a powerful Quirk can just make bigger problems. You, though... You're the right person with the right Quirk! So, don't think about what you can't do, or what somebody else could do in your place. Think about all the things you can accomplish, and then you'll realize it. You can do anything if you put your mind to it.'"

She took a deep breath, then exhaled, shaking her head slightly. Just like that, her body language, expression, and presence were right back to how they'd been before. "Haruka once told me that," She said as if this explained everything. "She was always right about everything, and she'd say the same thing to you if she heard what you just said. So, please don't be sad, Reina. You were really heroic."

Ezra

Ezra smiled as he picked Jett up. He'd done it to plenty of people in his old school that had asked whether they could lift their weight, only to be proven again and again that he in fact could. Ezra's build wasn't lanky, he was tall yes, but he also had a considerable amount of muscle. Jett handled it surprisingly well, for him anyhow. If he were to be picked up, he'd definitely start a fight right there and then, but Jett seemed to want to turn it to banter, and that he had no problem with.

It was only after Jett had started listing names that he had caught on why he was being called Andre. He was trying to nickname him with the names of tall people, and he honestly found it amusing. He wanted to retort back, but he figured holding him like a toddler was a punishment enough. He wasn't particularly surprised when he broke free, it wasn't like he was holding him particularly hard. IF he wanted to maintain the grip on him, he would have already done that, he proved his capability to do that during the exam. He suggested the nickname smalls in order to confuse people, and that was when Ezra clocked on that he didn't see this interaction as a bad thing, but more as a rivalry and friendship.

His teasing continued, until he mentioned the fight. It was something that he was tremendously excited for. He couldn't really remember being this excited, except for the finals of his middle school national basketball tourney. Smiling at his newfound rival, he let out a grin and spoke happily.

"You can use ya quirk next time. Maybe make it a bit more difficult for me, since ya tore like a piece a paper last time."

IT was around this time that he had saw Roy coming up from behind Jett, and putting his hand on his shoulder. He spoke words that particularly annoyed Ezra, but they couldn't spoil his mood at the moment, so they had little effect on him. He couldn't exactly gather whether the boy was stupid or not. Judging from his decision making in the exam and his statement, he was, but he couldn't exactly have been transferred to the hero course without possessing some intelligence. Ezra figured the former was true, and whilst he didn't have a problem with fighting this kid, he knew that he wouldn't get anything out of it.

"I don't mind taking ya up on that, but it is there any reason ya wanna scrap? Are ya tryna redeem your reputation by takin' me down?"
he spoke, somewhat paranoid by this situation. He had dealt with this sort of shit his entire life, he didn't exactly want to go straight back to it in a new school. If anything, that's what he was trying to avoid when he transferred to this school. He was so deep in thought at this stage that he didn't even notice Jett leaving or speaking about Roy's confidence before he came back to his senses.

He looked at Roy with intense focus at this stage, trying to comprehend what was going on in this kids head.

Classroom 1-A

Sen didn't answer immediately, as the sound of someone hitting the ground presumably distracted him, as it did Kenichi. He turned to see Jett in a somewhat compromised position with a new girl, and despite his confusion he was sorely tempted to call the guy out for hypocrisy after that whole fiasco with Fumika earlier.

He heard his name mentioned, and cut his eyes towards the source. Mamoru and the twintails were talking about another fight at Point A...so she had been the one who captured it after he and Fumika had been picked up? And she'd beaten Roy to do it. He wondered what her Quirk was, since she certainly seemed to skinny to have done any real damage...

The presence of someone really big in his peripheral caused the blue-hair to turn his attention once again, especially because whoever they were, they were looming over Fumika and cracking their knuckles. Kenichi started to narrow his eyes, but it turned out that tall guy was just asking about their fight and the ahoge girl didn't seem at all intimidated by him.

The class seemed like it had gotten a lot noisier in general by this point; they apparently had more new students besides Roy, and everyone was trying to get to know each other or just talking about the training exercise. Kenichi started to continue his conversation with Sen, but then the teachers entered--not just L Guardian, but another guy that Kenichi recognized as the principle from the exam panel, and some older dude who seemed...familiar for some reason? Ah, Kenichi softly snapped his fingers, it was because he shared some features with Jett. So were they related?

Once Yoshida-sensei had the class under control, the three teachers brought up footage of the exercise and began breaking things down. Kenichi sat up straight and watched intensely, but could only nod with a dejected "Yes sir..." when they told him what he already knew. He was dumb--all he was good at was being strong and fast. He wasn't really sure how to use his brain in combat, and none of the teachers bothered offering any constructive comments on the matter. He settled back into his seat with a sigh and crossed his arms, but kept his eyes on the footage.

As the battle at Point C played out, Kenichi suddenly gripped one of his biceps hard enough that his fingers were leaving a red mark. He had thought his damage control was bad, but ho-lee-SHIT what had those teams been thinking!? Acion's feathers were what had cut Sen so badly, and Mamoru had intentionally wrecked the truck with her classmates still in it and tried to run them over with a crane. And she was going to lecture him about losing to Fumika in a fair fight?

Other fights played out with less destruction--though Kenichi highly disagreed with the teachers about Jett and Ezra's fight because real men talk it out with their fists--up until they covered Donny's collapse of Point B. Kenichi did agree with them there; just like Mamoru's plan, that had been completely out of line. But that was the general theme with this class, it seemed. Everyone had this feel of desparation to them. They had to show off their Quirks, they had to fight it out at their hardest, they had to take whatever measures were necessary to win. To pass. They had all tried so hard to get approval, and whether it was their natural competitive nature or the pressure L Guardian put on them, either way it didn't seem like a good start to the school year. At this rate they'd all kill each other before midterms.

As the handbooks were handed out and the teachers left the room, the pockets of conversation started up again. Kenichi, in what might seem an uncharacteristic display, immediately cracked open the handbook and started skimming the contents. If they had fifteen minutes until the bell rang...no, there was no way he could read all this in fifteen minutes. But one of the study strategies he had learned about was to scan the information as a whole, and then break it down into the most important parts. He already knew he would have to study as much as he could to raise his grades, but now that even the teachers had acknowledged his lack of brainpower he desperately wanted to do better. He looked up every once in a while when he couldn't help but overhear something interesting. Fumika seemed to be making more friends, which made him smile. The twintail girl was called Kasuke Mina, and despite seeming so frail it turned out she did karate, which explained how she'd beaten Roy and taken A. He made a mental note to talk to her later. Maybe learning something about martial arts would help him--fighting like that took smarts and technique and stuff, right? He might be able to ask Jett and Ezra too. From watching them on the projector, it seemed like Ezra had a lot of similarities to Kenichi, a brawling style based on schoolyard and back alley experience; Jett, on the other hand, had this way of kicking that didn't seem like Karate or those other popular martial arts, Tae Kwon Do and Muay Thai, but still had that kind of sharpness and precision to it that actual training provided.

Everyone seemed like they were getting along well. Kenichi wanted to jump in on some of the conversations too...but...

He looked down at the handbook.

"Besides, your Quirk has tons of potential. Me, I'm just a poor man's All Might--I can run fast, hit stuff, and jump around. I'm only good for fighting or lifting things."

"Just like anything else, Heroes with brains like you will win out over dumb brawny types like me."

Funny that the words he had used to help someone else hurt himself. Hero schools were still schools--he had failed the exam for UA and only made middle-rankings here. It didn't matter if he could fight, or if his Quirk was considered strong no matter how many people told him that it was. He had to make the grade, or none of it mattered.

He set the open handbook on the desk--the main character desk, he thought with a bitter smirk--and started trying to memorize it in silence.

Roy Kusayanagi

Jett was willing to take Roy up on his offer with no question, Roy smirked as he went off to do something else. He was then left with Ezra facing face to face, the boy towered over him. Roy found it heard to believe that he was 6'5 and they were the same age. He had a lot of growing left, though Jett took the challenge easily Ezra was more reluctant. Though he accepted he asked why he wanted to challenge him.

"Are ya tryna redeem ya reputation by takin' me down?"

The tall boy had a more serious tone as this conversation shifted towards a deeper one. He wanted a full answer, the truth it seemed like and Roy had no problem giving it to him.

"Its much more important than a class reputation." Roy said placing his hands in his pocket as he took a deep breath.

"You already know when it comes to battle I'm probably the worst in Class 1-A, I expected you to look at me crazy to be honest" he said as he gave a shrug.

"Truth be told, today was my first time using my quirk in battle against another person. like I said when I first met team Delta my quirk heats up my body temperature as a downside, at one point in my life it was more of a health issue as I was prone to heat related illnesses. I Spent a good portion of my life stuck in the children's hospital because of it until I could control it better and my body was able to handle the heat. Being a hero was something out of the question but here I am at Komei." He said with a small chuckle at the end, now he was basically just sharing his life story.

"Moral of story is, I am way behind in terms of quirk mastery compared to everyone else in Class 1-A. Your good when it comes to fighting, I don't expect to beat you or anything but I could probably pick up a thing or two from the both of you and everybody else and developed a fighting style for myself. I'm pretty much bottom of the barrel in class 1-A in overall strength and thinking but I knew that coming here, while your easily top 3." As he spoke he looked him straight in the eyes.

"I want to fight you out of respect, you didn't even have to use your quirk to do good, you seem like a pretty seasoned fighter if you ask me" he said, beginning to think he got the point by now in what he was trying to say.

"Other than Mina, I want to fight you the most and see how I fair against you E" he said placing a nickname on him hoping he will accept his challenge of rivalry.

Ezra

Ezra's focus was broken when the boy began talking. Apparently, his reasoning was not because of his reputation, which wasn't particularly strange to him. Though it was the typical reasoning for challenging Ezra to a fight, there were others, but it definitely took the edge off him. He then began to spoke, referring to himself as the worst in the class, and stating that he expected Ezra to look at him crazy. Ezra was dumbfounded by this. He couldn't believe that somebody could look at themselves and believe themselves to be the weakest out of everybody in the class. Ezra didn't share this opinion to be perfectly honest, he thought he might be the stupidest for his bad decision but not the weakest.

Ezra was shocked when he had spoken about this being the first time he used his quirk in a fight. He wasn't bothered by that, Ezra knew the kids that went to this school were most of the time from nice upper class backgrounds where they didn't have to get their hands dirty. He began speaking about his quirk being more of a detrimental health issue than anything positive for him, and he did feel sympathy as he spoke about being stuck in children's hospitals rather than being able to go out and live his life. He was fairly impressed that he had been able to overcome the odds, which was all the more reason he was mad at his opinion of himself. He wasn't particularly empathetic usually, or at all for that matter, but he felt as if he had to speak up about this. Yet he couldn't. He continued to listen.

His explanation continued, with him continuing to state his inability. He agreed to an extent that his abilities and thinking definitely needed polishing, and considering that was his first battle, he couldn't hold him to too much fault for what happened earlier, and at this point, he learned what the challenge was for. Experience. It was a good mindset to have, and he found himself with a bit more respect for the kid. Action is the best way to figure it out, and flinging yourself into the deep end was the fastest way to improve. He felt as if the kid was trying to catch up through force of will alone. He at least recognized that Ezra was within the top 3 of the class, which made him smile. He'd been recognised.

"Surely ya can think of a better nickname than E, c'mon. I'll fight ya, but if that's ya first time using ya quirk to fight, or even fighting by the looks of it, ya have a lot to learn. You can learn from school, but I can teach ya how to fight if ya that desperate." he spoke with a less serious tone but softer. Ezra very rarely showed significant emotion in this way, but he did seem to be serious and quite affected by it.

Jett Haven

Jett had his arms rested on his knees lazily as his right hand held the drink he bought. He was watching Donny the entire time he spoke. He wanted to make sure Donny got what he wanted out first... many times people clam up if you start interrupting them. After he was done though he looked forward and didn't say anything. He was figuring how best to word what he had to say. First thing he wanted to address was that he called himself a monster.

"Donny... If you think you are a monster... then you are one." He looked Donny directly in the eye. His eyes were stern as he wanted to make sure Donny he was deadly serious. Tapping his right temple with two fingers. "If you want to be a Hero, you have to think you are. It's all in your head. If you let yourself be torn down, or even tear yourself down...you will never get to where you where you want to be."

He looked forward. "Yeah... dropping a building on your fellow students...that was dangerous and stupid." He said bluntly. "However, you're not a hero yet..." He pointed to Donny..."you" Then to himself before towards their classroom" ...me, everyone in our class are not heroes yet. We are here to learn and become better. Not just with our powers, but with our reasons for being a hero, and how to become role models for the people we are going to defend. "
"There are others that need to learn that lesson... I had to learn that lesson. We are all at different stages at finding out who we are and how this world works."

"Obviously there is some good in you. I know Mina was at B... and yet she somehow made it out, and had your Gym clothes on at A." He looked over at Mina who was still talking to Dugal, "I saw how she had them folded under her desk, which means you helped her out of the situation. If you didn't she wouldn't have bothered. "No matter how awkward that situation was in his mind... he had to push through it. "You need to look at that right now. And though you may have not defeated her... you did effectively clear B Which confused everyone enough to abandon it for some reason. Thus at least ensuring a Tie a least. I'm not saying do that again though. "

It was a stretch, But it wasn't false as well. He sighed and looked back at Donny with a small smirk. " Cheer up Donny, Its only day one. You may be at the bottom right now, but if you get back up and fight those thoughts. I'm sure you can become a great hero...even with that odd but interesting quirk." He then took a swig of his drink before grabbing the second can and handing it directly to Donny

Roy folded his arms and scoffed looking to the side at Ezras reply.

"I wouldnt use the words desperate..just using my resources" He started tapping his finger on his head, "Sure, I can learn from the school as well...but learning only from school wouldn't be enough to make me the best". If he worked at the same rate as the others he would never catch up.

"But just because you know my story now doesn't mean I want you to pity me and feel sorry, ill take it as an insult. I want the same intensity that jett got or we're gonna have a problem" He said grinning.

"We're just two students chasing our dreams". Maybe Roy was a little bit stupid, other than jett, he was really the only one who wanted to get in the ring with Ezra even after watching his fight with Jett. Especially after seeing that headbutt, he probably could of killed Jett if he wanted.

Note to self: Don't get hit by Ezras headbutt.

"Anyways enough about me, I probably talked enough about myself. I appreciate you accepting my challenge, we should talk some more later. I've been curious about your background, your tall, have a different sense of fashion, and also your accent. He said as he looked the boy up and down. He took the freetime he had to work on his technique as well making a ball in his right hand with dull spikes so he didn't hurt himself, while he made a light construct fidget spinner which was a lot harder then it looked. He strained a bit with it as he spun it on his hand, so many little details was a lot of strain but he knew if he could get the hang of it his arsenal would triple. At this point he stopped working with the ball, focusing all his energy in keeping the fidget spinner working. If Ezra payed enough attention he could visibly see yellow energy flowing out of his arm and into the construct as he strained. If he was to do this while Yoshida was teaching he would get caught for sure.

Donny Yang

Donny sniffed and continued looking down. Jett didn't quite understand what Donny meant when he called himself a monster, but he couldn't be faulted for that. It's not as if Donny lets his true form known. He supposed he ought to be lucky that none of the cameras spotted Donny’s true form at all. Some of Jett’s other words did resonate with Donny, though he still felt that they were hollow victories. ”Mina... Kasuke-San... S-She wouldn't have a problem if... I didn't do... What I did..." Donny wasn't sure if he should have been angry at himself for what he did to her or feel glad that she had been so nice to him. This was something Donny really wanted to know. ”I... Did horrible things to her... Yet she... She's not angry at me!” Donny blurted out as pressed his face into his knees, sobbing controllably. ”I w-w-was going to k-k-k-kill her and yet... And yet... S-S-She's so nice to me. I don't know how to h-h-handle that.”

Memories of kindness and betrayal flooded Donny head. He remembered how it all started, his fall into madness. He just kept shaking his head to ignore it however, not wanting to relive the memories he's tried so hard to forget. "I don't know... I don't know... I..." Sighing, Donny allowed himself to melt. Though in his Meat Bag, it just looked like Donny slumped on the slop, his body no longer tense but still pretty loose. Donny took the second can of soda and didn't even bother to open it: he unhinged his jaw and opened it wide, fitting the whole can into his mouth before chomping down and consuming it in one go. The sweet taste was delicious with a crunchy texture, but it only stalled Donny's negative feelings. "I just... Want another chance... To show everyone, and myself... I'm a hero..."

Dulga Tarata

Dulga listened to Mina retell her side of what happened at the battle. Apparently she started at Point B first, and was the only one who faced off against Donny. However Mina didn't give Dulga too much details about her fight with him, which made Dulga curious. Just what sort of secrets did Donny have that even Mina couldn't talk about it? Dulga didn't really know what Donny's quirk was, but if the secret was that big perhaps it would be best if Dulga didn't know. She certainly knew the importance of secrets. Still she worried that someone with Donny's power, without anyone keeping him in check, was going to continue doing stupid things for stupid reasons. Dulga understood desperation and she also understood taking extreme measures, but if Donny's first option was to destroy an entire building before he has even tried to fight anyone and minimize the damage done to the surroundings, someone needed to set him straight. Dulga would gladly teach him that lesson.

Next Mina explained her fight at Point A. Sure enough Mina explained what she had already told Dulga before; she was playing it safe, used her powers carefully, and took out Roy when victory was most certain. Like killing a target with one bullet, Dulga understood Mina's thought process and liked how she thought. Mina couldn't act like a macho fool like the boys and fight for the sake of fighting, expanding all their energy just for show. Someone needed to actually win these fights. Just as Mina finished her questions one of those macho fools approached. Jett interrupted them to say his opinions on Mina's critique as well as eluding to Dulga about what he saw back at the other room. She simply narrowed his eyes at him and soured her mood greatly. Dulga was ready to jack him in the throat just for even speaking to her but she held her anger in check as he left. Sighing Dulga shook her head. "All these boys are fools."

Getting over it Dulga focused on Mina again. She didn't really have much to say about her fights that she didn't already say before. She liked how Mina fought, it was smart and played with her strengths. But she could tell that Mina may still have issues with Yoshida's criticism, and while Dulga didn't see a problem with what Mina did, she did want to say something in defense of Mr. Yoshida's words. "It's not about your attitude. It's your approach. One thing I noticed from what you and Yoshida-Sensei said, is that you fight alone. Even when you had teammates you fought the enemy by yourself. There are a few things you could have done differently. Instead of chasing Donny underground you could have waited for Lysander to back you up. After you fought Donny at Point B you could have checked on your allies and see if they were okay. Perhaps bring them back to Point A to help you fight. Instead both times you relied only on yourself." Dulga said stoically. Even when Dulga went hunting as a teenager she never went without her mother, or when she did she never strayed too far from home. Even wild beasts Dulga hunted every day can have devious cunning when their lives are on the line.

"Everyone fought alone. There was no teamwork, not even ganging up on each other. Heroes are suppose to be the icon of good and justice but they aren't suppose to be fools either. Heroes will always fight enemies stronger than themselves. One day you will fight someone you can't defeat. When that time comes even your best will not be enough. You need to be able to work with others to defeat enemies stronger than you." Dulga stopped talking to let Mina think about it. Perhaps it wasn't the most heroic thing to say but Dulga was a realist. Even though she had super strength and was good with guns, she knew all sorts of villains that could easily overpower her or render her firearms useless. Memories of that villain who attacked her home, who even her father and mother could not defeat and only managed to drive off, resonated in Dulga's mind. She understood Mina's desire to get stronger so that she could defeat someone. But she also knew that she needed to have reliable friends at her back if she actually wants to win.

"Make no mistake, Kasuke-san. Yoshida-sensei criticized your attitude because you fight alone. And one day that will kill you. But you have the heart of a hero and that's what matters. As long as you have that you can fix the little things overtime."

Kasuke Mina

Mina sat and listened to everything Dulga had to say. She wasn't even sure she disagreed with it. She did go alone, and she could have waited for help, or gone to get help at any point. But this was where Dulga and Mina were fundamentally different. Dulga went hunting with family, and learned the value and important of teamwork at an early age. Mina's mom spent most of her career fighting the bag guys alone, and Mina herself was so desparate to escape her mother's legacy, she even outright refused when her mom offered to take her out to fight crime as a sidekick. The prospect of being a sidekick to her famous mother mortified Mina at the time. She didn't want to be 'The Heroine Mina; Daughter of Seductress'. In fact, she didn't want anyone to ever think of her and Seductress in the same sentence once she was a Hero, unless it was to remark that they were surprised to find out Seductress was the mother of a Heroine twice more famous and well known than Seductress ever was.

Mina wasn't even comfortable with the idea of even taking on a sidekick herself when she was older, because one day they might overshadow her too, and it will be her fault. Besides, they'd be slowing her down. Waiting for Lysander today would have also slowed her down. If she was to overtake her mother and train to become a better Hero in just three years, Mina could not afford to be slowed down.

"My mother, Seductress, never needed help to defeat a criminal," Mina started to tell Dulga, a newfound fury in her eyes, though it didn't seem to be directed at Dulga, "and I plan to break out of her shadow, and climb higher than she ever did. If I ever needed to rely on the help of other heroes to beat an enemy, when my mom didn't, that would be the day I quit being a Hero. I don't want to be almost as good as my mom. I don't even want to be as good."

Mina was now standing, looking down on the sitting Dulga. Maybe it was a little directed at her.

I'm going to be better, or die trying." Mina ended her speech abruptly, and marched off towards her dorms.

LYSANDER

Lysander had disappeared after the presentation. He was last seen grinning from ear to ear with a spark in his eyes that would blind even Mina as he took what seemed like a wrong turn to get back to the classroom. He gracefully power walked his way directly to the bathroom where he proceeded to spend the entire time he was gone fixing his hair and made sure his roots hadn’t started to show. He moved onto his teeth, checking for any bits of food or dust, the back of his head throbbing slightly but overall he ignored it. He had to look perfect.

He was in a state of pure bliss as he constantly rewinded time in his mind to watch himself save Ezra and Roy and hearing himself being called Heroic... it was all going straight to his ego that made him feel even bigger than the new girl who was easily a foot taller than him. He felt like his head was brushing the ceiling by the time he was ready to leave and enter the classroom.

As Lysander walked through the halls, he noticed some students outside the room but completely ignored them as he rehearsed his speech in his head. He flung the door to the room open with such force that the noise alone was akin to a shout but soon enough, the real shouting started.

With a heroic pose and warm smile, Lysander got into character. His chin raising up and voice getting slightly deeper, eyes squinting slightly as he smiled. ”Your resident Hero has arrived! I know you all saw me, and I know you all must think I’m the only one who really did what they should have, in fact, I was so good even Fumika knew who was the hero to emulate out there. No need for autographs, I told you all that just going to school with me would provide all the stories you’d need to live a happy life and let me just tell all of you it’s just begun. I plan to save everyone but next time there will be more than one camera, hopefully.” Lysander said, not reading the current mood of the room at all.

He waited for the cheers, the applause, maybe even Toni’s warm embrace as she swooned over the next greatest hero superstar. Surely American Supers knew what to do more than the Japanese ones and they of course had no hope of being able to compare the the western showmen that Lysander grew up watching. Hell, even All Might himself used American cities and states as names for his attacks so surely the fact Lysander was from there put him above the rest of the class that actually came from Japan. He smiled a surprisingly warm smile, his true charisma kept the situation from being awkward should you look at only him, but if you were to gaze around the room, you would see just how poorly timed his speech had been.

Dulga Tarata

"Ah, Kasuke-san I-" But before Dulga could correct herself Mina had left. Before she had left Mina started talking about her mother the Seductress. Dulga had no idea who taht was, but from the sounds of it she was the one that Mina was trying to overcome. Dulga just sat there and watched her new friend leave while feeling rotten about herself. "Good job Dulga..." Sighing, the six-armed giant stood up to head to class. She wanted to ask Mina if she wanted to try to become better than her mother, or become her mother. Even if mina wanted to be able to fight by herself and overcome her mother's shadow, she could still do that while also working alongside other heroes and further do more than her mother ever could. Because otherwise Mina may actually die trying to achieve her dreams. Dulga didn't want that to happen.

Dulga wasn't sure where to go from here. She didn't want to head back to class; it was too loud. She didn't want to chase after Mina, she needed some time to cool off. Dulga didn't know this school very well though. But she knew one thing: her favorite places was high above everything else. So Dulga headed to the rooftop. She just kept taking all the stairs until she finally reached the top of the building. There weren't very high fences skirting the side; just some handrails. "Perfect." Dulga went to the edge and leaned against the rails, looking down at the world from above. It was a good feeling, being able to see everything so clearly. Even if she couldn't see inside buildings or underneath the trees, she could see the entire city as far as the eye could see. She could even seen the dorms where Mina was heading to. Dulga looked with a forlorn stare, worried that she had just ruined a friendship with Mina. Taking her phone out Dulga started looking for a song to play so she could dance her problems away. But before she did she made sure to close the door. Hopefully no one will find her up here.

Once Dulga's song started, Dulga bobbed her head to the beat as she tried to find her rhythm. Once more she let the music take her away and just danced. Danced like she hasn't danced before.

Reina Mori

Biting her lip hard, Reina listened to Mamoru’s words, her blush deepening with each passing second. She tried to protest a couple times, finding it difficult to hear so many good things being said about her, but she couldn’t make her voice work.

”You're as crazy as me, but smarter, stronger, and waaaaaay cuter.”

”I-I’m not!...” she finally managed, her voice hardly noticeable. She was going to say more, unable to accept the pink-haired girl comparing Reina favourably against herself, but stopped upon receiving a second hug.

”Even if you doubt yourself, trust in me, who has faith in you. I know you'll be a great hero.”

Trust in me. Reina... she could do that, right? She liked Mamoru. The girl was the exact kind of person Reina always wanted to be around—a complete opposite of herself, at least on a surface level. She always avoided that type of person especially, however, not ever wanting to impose. But maybe Mamoru, as well as the other two...

Reina glanced to Acion as he spoke. Her expression was beginning to lighten, no longer on the brink of crying, but still filled with sad, scared uncertainty. She nodded slowly as the boy finished.

Friends... The three of them deserved better than her, though. Even if she tried, she’d just be a burden they’d feel the had to take care of, and eventually they’d realize the effort simply wasn’t worth it. She should just push them away and keep to herself, as usual. Her own desires shouldn’t come into play.

"That's wrong, though, Reina," Fumika said.

Reina glanced to girl still hugging her for a moment, before dropping her eyes to her lap. She listened quietly, fighting the urge to disagree. There was no way that was true—that no one else could use her quirk better. Of course, Fumika and the others didn’t know everything about it—they couldn’t. She was just doing what she could, for Reina’s sake. The dark-haired girl dug her fingers into her skirt.

She paused, looking up when Fumika’s voice suddenly changed, the confusion taking her away from her thoughts for a moment. The girl, after a passionate speech, reverted to normal. Haruka?... A friend of hers, maybe. Someone she respected greatly.

"So, please don't be sad, Reina. You were really heroic."

Reina looked away again, feeling shameful for even feeling upset again. ”S-sorry...” She felt tears begin to sting her eyes again. The three at her desk really were too good for her. But she wanted to be friends with them...

...Hadn’t she decided only a little earlier that she would try to fix herself? And here were three of her new classmates, giving her an opportunity to take a step forward to that end. It frustrated her that she didn’t immediately take it. It just wasn’t that easy. Why couldn’t it be? Because. She’d just be a problem for them, one they’d feel obligated to deal with for a while. She wouldn’t do that to anyone.

”What matters is your drive – how much you want to succeed, the things you believe in.”

Reina’s eyes, still staring at her lap, widened slightly as something finally clicked in her thoughts. She always wanted to believe in others. She always did. Even when they left her, fed up with her personality, fed up with her quirk, it was always herself she blamed. Because it was her fault. But still... it was in others that she found all of her own drive. Probably not in the healthiest ways, but that was how she was, fundamentally.

Right now, her classmates were too good for her. In her mind, that was undeniable. But she wanted to fix herself. To become someone that could be looked at and immediately pinned as a great hero. One known world-wide, and was turned to constantly for aid. She wanted no one to ever be scared to ask for her help, as she was right now with the help of all others.

Though she was far, far from that, she could move forwards today, thanks to these three. She’d do everything she could to not be a burden on them, until she wasn’t so like... herself. If there was anyone who’d be okay with putting up with a personality like hers, wouldn’t it be hero course students?

”Th-Thank you...” she finally said quietly, glancing between the three. ”Aksha-san, Nakamiji-san, Motome-san...”

Swallowing shame and guilt, Reina bowed forwards in her seat, eyes lightly squeezing shut. ”I-I’m sorry... I’d like to be friends with you...” Though only really Acion had come to her making it clear he was looking for a friendship, the girl managed to force herself to ask the same of the two other girls.

Reina fought to keep herself from shaking too much as she bowed, completely out of her comfort zone and terrified of what consequences she’d face for her actions—both immediate and in the future. She was thankful she had her eyes shut, at least—it was hard to cry like that.

Jett Haven
Donny Yang

Jett kept his eyes on Donny as he tried to explain more...When he mentioned he did horrible things to Kasuke, and even tried to kill her, his left hand balled into a fist. He couldn’t help it, it was second nature for him to get angry if someone was trying to hurt, or kill someone….especially a girl even though she could very well defend herself. It was drilled into him by his father, and his grandfather. His lips tightened into a straight line as he forced himself to remain calm. Obviously this kid had some issues… decking him at this moment would be a horrible choice. Add to the fact that Kasuke was fine with only a few scrapes. Nothing bad had been done.

When Donny suddenly began to melt, his eyes went wide. He did NOT see that one coming. He watched as he unhinged his jaw and ate the can whole. He looked away as he admitted he wanted another chance. Working through his own thoughts as he bit the inside of his lip as he made sure he was going to say what needed to be said...not what he wanted.

“Donny…” He paused for another second or two. “ Why do you want to be a hero?” He looked at him. His eyes serious. “ I mean really… don’t give me the usual answers. Tell me your motivation in wanting to become a hero.”

Donny was surprisingly quick to answer. ”I wanted people to look at me and not be afraid. I want them to call me a hero and like me because I’m there. Not be disgusted or scared because of what I look like or what I do.” He was all too aware how his actions today has been counterproductive to that image. Donny would say it was ironic, but he was fairly certain that’s not what that word means. Straightening up again Donny started poking at his shoes. ”I… Read stories of monstrous things and people… Who are just misunderstood and uncertain. I thought maybe I was too… Some of those people work hard and become heroes. But they… It’s easier for them. They’re usually stupid. They just didn’t know better. I’m not like them… I knew what I was doing, and yet…”

Leaning his head back his eyes squinted before he then said, “Yeah...but stories only capture part of the journey. The stuff you hear on the news is only the interesting parts...it doesn’t go into detail of their daily struggles before they made it. And even in books, the author makes it look as easy or as hard as they want. Month long travels happen in a page turn. You can’t compare yourself to that and expect results.”

Looking at him again after taking a long sip of his drink.“Before you can get people to like you, or not see you as a monster, but as a hero. You got to look at yourself like that first. You can’t be ashamed of how you look, or embarrassed. You can’t think that you are a monster because when you do that.” He tapped his temple again. “You become what you think. You have to first accept yourself in full before you can expect others to.”

He gave him a nudge with his elbow with a encouraging smile. “Now. You are not expelled for your mistake. You are still here. The only thing stopping you from becoming the best version of yourself...is yourself. So what do you say, you gonna come back to class with me and start your journey to becoming a Hero?”

Donny continued to sulk but thought about Jett’s words. He wasn’t sure what to think. So much of his mind was already against Donny, ostensibly for his own protection. He’s been burned before and he doesn’t want it to happen again. But what he also wants will put him on a dangerous road rife with disappointment. Donny didn’t want to be disappointed. But at what point will he stop being scared and take the first step? ”I… I guess… I’ll go back to class.” Donny said with some uncertainty. He wasn’t sure what he was doing. But at this point he was just going off with what felt right to him. Donny slowly got to his feet while dropping some crumbs on the floor, sweeping them back into his hand and eating them. He ate his trash before putting the rest of his snacks into his bag. He wiped away what was left of his tears and glanced at Jett before waiting for him to lead them back to class.

Jett got to his feet, finishing his drink and tossing it into the recycle bin. Looking to Donny he added. “No, there is no guessing here Donny. You want to change your life and want people to see you as a hero. You got to be positive!” He smiled big and raised his fist for a fist bump.

Donny looked at Jett with a big of confusion. He shakily punched Jett’s fist and gave an awkward smile back. ”P-P-Plus Ultra?”

Jett sighed as he got a shaky fist bump. It would have to do for now. “Plus Ultra.” He said with a smile before walking back with Donny to class. They managed to actually make it back just as Lysander finished his speech. Jett had continued walking past him and flicked his right earlobe. “Yeah… I’m going to tell my kids the story how Lysander dropped like a sack of potato’s after one punch.” He said chuckling. He sat back down on a desk as they waited for the bell.
