But would it be as funny as a sword that clangs like a cartoon frying pan?

Anyway I'm gonna hurry up on that character sheet. Do you mind if he goes nameless for a bit or should I go with something until I come up with a name?

More power to you, bro.

From how I did with Orpheus, it doesn't appear that she needs to hear their name to know it. So you have the option to go 'nameless' for a while, if you need time to think of it. :^D

Ah, right... so how can I make this as convoluted as possible... Okay, got it.

The two, up to 4, fighters get teleported to a floating platform in the middle of the cosmos, and let's have stuff spawn all around the arena that do random stuff, and as you get hit, a certain percentage will rise that will affect how easy it is to send you flying out to oblivion... oh wait, wrong game.

Though Final Destination does have a rad theme song...

...

Also, I fixed up the stat system, since there were COMPLAINTS about it. Actually, @Jerkchicken I'm glad you brought up the issues because it made me realize something very wrong with it. (And NO, it wasn't me realizing using a stat system was stupid! Cuz its not! D:<) And now that all the madness is about to begin, it is a good time to establish what the STATS mean, for realsies.

Firstly, It didn't make sense for a separate stat to dictate how fast you were, since that is mostly a physical thing. So STR is now how strong AND fast a character can be, while DEX is how well they perform said superhuman feats without fucking it up, hurting themselves, i.e. just general coordination when things get REAL. Seems like a useless stat, but if you wanna throw something across a mountain and hit a target dead on, deflect hundreds of arrows coming at you at once, or make adjustments to your ship-in-a-bottle while fighting off a massive sea demon... um. Then yes, you'll need good spacial awareness and control of your BULGING BICEPS to do that.

Everything else is the same though, so yay~ :^D

On the topic of DEX, does it also affect how well your SPI hijinks function? e.g the finesse required to utilize spiritual abilities?

Perhaps it is time to make a Discord channel after all, to facilitate quick answers to these questions. :3

Nah, I just added extra explanation to SPI, saying that it dictates both magical power AND control. Dex is mainly for doing precise physical things, as to not be confusing. If you want a spell to zoom through a crack in the wall, then flip, fly, floop, into the next room and into a monster's mouth, that is all SPI. Though if a situation were to come up, say, like you wanting to cast a spell in the split second of a bullet flying towards you, then DEX would certainly have a role in it.

But what are the chances of that ever happening... right? Haha... > u >;;

...

B-but, if we had a Discord, what would happen to my beloved OOC? I can't abandon my poor child... D^:

So, what you're saying is...STR and DEX are power and control, while SPI is both power and control.

Now, one must wonder: what happens if you give a muscle dude and a mage equal amounts of Essence and pit them against each other? Does it not appear to make sense that the mage, who can devote all their Essence to one stat would be greater than the muscle dude, who has to split their Essence between two stats?

Well, first the Mage better have a combat oriented ability or muscle wizard will paste them.

And then muscle wizard would probably win initiative, unless they've dumped Dex and just gone straight Endrance and Strength. In which case, why?

Ah, you bring up a good point. But I have thought of this.

To better explain the balance, I will go into how magic in this RP works for a bit. Let's go back to guns. Magic itself is very much like a bullet. It cannot be used without a cost, nor can it be fired without risk when not used in a proper weapon. In this world, the more powerful a magic is, the more immense strain it inflicts on the user, hence why END is important for spell-casters. Without high END, a high SPI user could wind up a super powerful spell, cataclysmic even, but it would have a very long casting-length, because while they have great control, anymore stress to speed it up would literally disintegrate their body. So even a character with super high SPI is left to fire a few so-so ones before their body, which can viewed as a 'medium', tires out.

I mean they could just overload their body and blow themselves and their opponent up. But who really wins at that point...

Now items might change this here, and there... but now we're just going into the realm of speculation. XD

I'd say that's a little too situational to tell tbh. Too much depends on weapon choice and magic choice as well as environment.

But END is also important to muscle wizards, I thought? That's why I left it out of the equation. Like, yah, k, mage needs to invest in END, but muscle wizard needs to invest in END as well, in order to have their bodies not explode from their respective SPI and STR stats.

That being said, does this mean that you're ultimately pushing people towards at least a semi-all rounder stat build, Ryu? Like, at a certain point, you can't have low stats in anything, or you'd just get severely dicked over by the juxtaposition between your highest stats and your lowest stats?

I mean given how big point differences are being 3 or more points away in any given stat is a prettttty big difference, so it makes sense to push towards even growth.

TLDR; GM went on a rant again. Ignore if you don't want an in-depth explanation of how the stats work and how the overall narrative is built around this system. In the end, the power of friendship will win, not the stats. Though the stats will help.
