@KoL Thank you!

Being with the captured group sounds fine by me. I'll go put Luin in the character tab

You are free to post IC, then.

Welcome.

How would one sabotage this magic tech cage. It is just a plain cage that if you break, it stops working. Is there is a channel power? Is there a power line you can cut?

The soldiers are controlling it so incapacitating them in any way will help.

Since we see the glint from half a mile away, I presume we may have an advance scout group to investigate and act as pathfinders?

I'll try to get a post out tomorrow. Finally got a feel of my college schedule.

I had the expectation that the cage was an room in the ruin which had been repurposed with the necessary technologies to prevent the usage of vessels... Or was I wrong? I'll have to make a few changes to my post if that's not the case...

Well, it was, in fact, supposed to be just like a cage that I have described in the IC right in the beginning of the RP. Tie in with the foreshadowing, you know?

That said, your post didn't do any harm, let out the way it's now. There were reactions to it already, we don't wanna trigger a chain edit unless it's very necessary.

@Zynros

PS: For context, the post that foreshadows this is one: https://www.roleplayerguild.com/posts/4294509. The description of the contents of the journal came from me. Sadly, the only players that knew of the contents of the journal disappeared from the RP without explanation and or reason.

Trying to contact @DracoLunaris had no success until now. We simply don't know what happened.

For all intents and purposes, Althea is phased out of the RP (with no harm or prejudice) until they come back if that's ever going to happen. Since she's out for the time being, the knowledge about this is lost to the PCs, unless there's someone that got to read the journal IC and can remember me of it.

@Leotamer

They are powered by magical crystals that provide them power, it's the basis of the technological system of the setting. Originally, they were supposed to look like bulky wild animal cages, with the device built into them.

However, for the sake of continuity and avoiding unnecessary edits, let's consider that these are a series of devices intalled on each corner of the room and connected to an external power source. A DIY experimental magical cell kit, so to say.

How is connected to the external power source, a wire, a transmitter. How would you cut the power source without getting close to the goons.

Well, I hope that you realize that the cage isn't in plain, open sight (likely inside a room in the ruins), before considering the answers I'll give to those question. Finding it as soon as your character sets their foot on the village would be very metagame-y, just as much as disabling it at the exact same time, giving no one a chance to react.

With those observations made, here are the answers:

- They are connected through cables, to a magical power source. The whole set up isn't very unlike that of a portable generator linked to a machine.

- They can be cut, but certainly not without getting close to/passing by the soldiers that are guarding the cage. Of course, they are guarding th power source too.

- Mind that there's fighting happening there right now.

- The key to the machine's controls is with the lookout/spotter, just like @TheWindel answered earlier. That's the only way to disable it without blatant sabotage.

Anymore questions?

How advanced is medical technology? Do the bandages have special healing properties and such or are they bandages and ointment like today? I am trying to gauge how hurt Regina should be in the morning and how injured she would have been in the fight as I left the extent of her injuries vague on purpose. Also, I am thinking of having Regina take Ires to the side for a small private chat when the opportunity arises if that is fine.

For the sake of commodity, and following the anime standards we have here, let's say that characters can recover from all but the most grievous wounds we properly treated and having the time to spend a good night's rest.

The technology is more advanced/unrealistic in some fields thanks to being magically based, so I don't see why to spend too much effort thinking on what is good or not.

As for Ires, you can do that whenever. They just need to get a little bit away from the group to talk. There'll hardly be any chance for true privacy, while in the middle of nowhere.

Just to clarify;

The group haven't moved to investigate, and as of yet they are investigating solely off a glimmer they saw in the distance. I wouldn't particularly mind Leo just moving ahead with Szeren and Leblanc- even if this didn't give Clean a chance to respond- but doing that in conjunction with the assumption it's enemies they should ambush makes the post seem a little too meta gamey.

There is no concrete post order, we just try to wait two or three posts before going again at a minimum.

@Lonewolf685 I know they have just seen a ruin. I made the post with the assumption that Natus was speaking to everyone. It is Natus, he approaches every situation as if he was going to be fight something. He was just offering a plan for when and if they went ahead and scouted out the place. I don't think it is out of character that the paranoid assassin would presume that the ruins in a monster-filled region had enemies in it.

I didn't think it was OOC to make that assumption on it's own, but in conjunction with what I saw as auto moving them towards the ruins, I thought it apt to speak up to clear things up promptly. Upon a third reading the post is far more innocent then I'd seen, so pardon if I jumped the gun.

So are there enemies outside of the ruins to clarify? Like if one pulled out a spyglass or binoculars they would be able to see?
