Felix Hausten

Location: Justice Memorial Hospital

irritation and slight panic was in his system now when he realised his own mistake, expecting the staff to be patient with him and not see him as being rude or insane. He knew in an instant that this woman was beyond the point of listening to reason because as his irritation rose he knew hers had too, getting called in by some foreign patient who was in hospital under suspicious circumstances and showing annoying tendencies. He was out of luck.

Then, the whole atmosphere changed. The electronic voice broke into the nurse's rant at him about his ignorance and idiocy, and she was gone without a word. It was scary. That woman was cold as ice and had zero patience, why on earth would such a code call for her to get out of there with such haste. He bit down on his lip gently before grabbing a handful of food viciously and jamming it into his mouth. With silence came fear and with fear came desperation. Dying in a hospital room defenesless and hurt wasn't how he intended for this to end. Well technically it was, but not murder, which seemed to be on the cards.

He grabbed the tray with his left hand and gripped it, his only weapon as he lay there. he tried moving against the tubing, but it just caused discomfort. He gritted his teeth, awaiting the end of the silence and any sudden noises.

Cecily Ashworth

Location: Private Hangar in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico

The conversation seemed to be predominately in English now, something that came as a relief. It turned out the priest was Caesar's brother and Cecily couldn't help but be curious about that. How did someone raise a priest and...Caesar? Was it a long lost brother sort of situation? She could hardly imagine Caesar growing up with a member of the clergy. It didn't make much sense, but it wasn't a question she would ever ask the man.

"Er, no, but thank you," Cecily replied. She didn't want to hold up Natasha getting into the car, but hearing that it was air conditioned was a good sign. It'd help to keep Natasha out of the heat.

Cecily glanced at Benicio and Caesar for a moment, before following after Natasha. This was all incredibly personal stuff and they deserved space. She doubted she'd ever have kids, but if Ethan had been the one in that casket...it would've broken her heart to see her little brother like that. He was thankfully in school and far away from Justice. None of this should involve him. Cecily wouldn't want to drag him into this mess.

Taking a seat in the limo, Cecily selected one that would allow Natasha to spread out as much as she wanted. She had noticed the doctor being basically in the fetal position and didn't want to be the reason that Natasha couldn't get the rest she needed. Cecily tuned out the conversation Natasha was having as best as she could, glancing over at the woman briefly when it was over. She hated talking on the phone and she couldn't understand why other people enjoyed it so much. She preferred to text.

"Are you feeling better?"

Iris Kingston

Location: Justice Asylum

Iris blushed slightly in embarrassment as Nurse Cratty doubted Iris' ability to defend herself. While she wasn't wrong and Iris was worried about Jaina attempting to kill her, she also wasn't entirely helpless. She knew her way around a foil and she could run! That had to count for something, but she got the feeling that Nurse Cratty would only chide her if she said anything about it. She couldn't help but feel a bit bad for the young nurse as well.

"Merci beaucoup," Iris said, smiling at Nurse Cratty as she led her to the isolation ward. "I really do appreciate this." Jaina had killed a man the day before. It wasn't a simple case of just adjusting someone's medication or assigning an extra few rounds of therapy--this was the deep end of deep ends. The death penalty was a possibility, though the insanity defense would likely protect her. Taking a deep breath, Iris set her hand on the door handle to Sarbye's room.

GOOOOOOOOOD MORNING VIETNAM! Jaina tried to shout, but it came out as insane giggles. She had just woken up as the sedative was wearing off and was still in that half asleep state. She hardly seemed to notice her surroundings or that she had been drugged. To her, it was just that her head felt a little funny, an experience that was hardly new. The woman bit down on her tongue, most likely by accident. But the sensation was curious to Jaina and hardly knowing any better, she bit down again--hard.

She then proceeded to spit out blood as it started to bleed, her teeth stained red. It brought back vivid memories of what fun she had had with the orderly! And the beautiful art that Cynthia had made! Giggling to herself, Jaina rested her head back. Yesterday evening had been perfect~!

Caesar Gonzalez

Location: Private Hangar in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico

True to his word, Caesar began loading their bags into the trunk of the stretch towncar as everyone else entered the vehicle cab. There weren't very many bags a they hadn't planned on being there for very long time, but among their possessions there was one case a little heavier than the others, dark and nondescript, otherwise not remarkable except for the temporary paper tag around the handle, marking it as Caesar's. This one he saved for last.

From the view inside of the limo, one might note that Caesar spent much longer than was necessary behind the open door to the trunk. There was the occasional snatch of conversation in Spanish involving the more refined voice of Benecio and the gravelly syllables of Caesar. While the discussion was brief, it was enough to surmise that they were doing more than talking about the most space efficient way to store suitcases.

Meanwhile, the partition inside the vehicle slid down a couple of inches. The rearview mirror showed a pair of sharp, feminine hazel eyes, partly obscured by a shock of dark hair which was held down by a chauffeur's cap. The owner of the eyes said nothing, seemingly waiting for some cue, but the gaze from her was unwavering and fierce. Within the next couple of minutes, Caesar and Benecio had both entered the vehicle. The doors shut, and a moment of tense quiet fell. Caesar was the one to break the silence.

"We're not going to a secure MSS facility." he began. His demeanor was difficult to read. Did the old man prefer an antiseptic series of rooms instead of a nice, luxurious hotel room? Was he feeling quite the opposite, and his growing need for comfort in his autumn years supersede the practical necessity of staying safe? Possibly being in his home turf was a thing that made him feel safer. Or it could be none of those things. Point of fact, it was most definitely not. "There is a Hacienda just outside of the city, near the mountain the Gonzalez Crypt is under. Most of La Familia is already there."

Benicio attempted to explain in more detail. "It is an estate, just outside of Monterrey. It still has a city mailing address. Most of the members of the Gonzalez Family were brought up there, and technically it is under my care now. The family will be expecting a full observation of the rites of Nuestra Dama de la Muerte."

"Not everybody in our family follows her." remarked Caesar in strong, corrective tones, as much to Cecily and Natasha as it was for Benicio.

"Correct. But she has paid particular interest in our family, Caesar. You know this better then most. And she always gets what is due her.

"Hmmm..." grunted Caesar, not willing to continue the discussion. "Ángel! Hacienda, por favor." The intense hazel eyes from the front seat disappeared as the partition rolled up, and the limousine rolled out of the hangar. The powerful Mexican sun beat down upon the vehicle, restrained from most of its fury by thick, tinted windows. From behind the glass, one could almost clearly make out an American accent enunciating a slightly put out, "Yeah, on it."

J. Keystone

Location: Mr. Burrito -> Back on the road

The tacos. Ah Lord, the tacos. When the dust finally settled on the now bleak landscape of Mr. Burrito, five people loomed tall and victorious over a mountain of individual wrappers, specially designed to serve the needs of a single folded tortilla plus savory contents, then spend the remainder of its existence clogging up a landfill. But that was a huge pile of discard paper. Impressive, really. The first official request of the Justice Branch's new arrivals had been fulfilled. Strangely, all of the hot sauce from the tables was missing upon their departure, as well. Feeling sorry for whoever had to clean up, Keystone tipped well. Company expense tab, and whatnot.

Always the forward-thinking man, Keystone was particularly happy that his office had its own bathroom. The Hub, well... If the new Tech group wasn't close already, they were about to get to know each other a lot better.

Back in the big, black Ramcharger, the big guy addressed the Techies again in a more official capacity. "Right, now, when we get back, you lot go through basic protocol, like you was talkin' on about, yeah? Make sure we're secure, put up some more firewalls or encryptions or wha'ever the arse you lot're into. Just make us water-bloody-tight. Then I'll see about gettin' Miss Gonzalez's information to ya, see what you can sort from 'er 'ardware an' intranet account." There was much passive nodding and agreeing, mostly because there was a possible Taco Coma forthcoming. And it was obvious that Keystone wasn't exactly the most computer savvy guy in the car. It wasn't a true "smile and nod" moment; they were all serious about their work, respectful of Keystone (in their own ways), and fully aware they they were brought in because they were the experts in their chosen field, and El Jefe needed people he knew were loyal.

The group continued down the streets of Justice, ever closer to Queensguard R&D and their destination therein.

*Quick Note: Color codes for location headers will denote time of day basically. Not so much tie of day but look for matching ones to see if you are in the same ~time frame~ as others.

Private Hangar in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico : Natasha looked over to Cecily and nodded a bit. "Yeah, just was too hot out there with all the flying. Least speaking to Lincoln helps," she said in a tired voice. She might have been saying she was feeling better but she really didn't look it so much other than her face wasn't as flush as it had been when she crawled into the limo.

Natasha cocked a brow, hearing the Spanish from time to time behind the car. She didn't pay it much attention, her head was still spinning enough to make focusing a bit too much trouble right then. As the rest got in the car she just sat there and listened, giving a nod of her head every so often.

(Need previous posts conversation in Spanish pmed to me Sigil immediately and any time anyone speaks in Spanish around Natasha.)

Limo Heading Towards Justice: "Have to disagree with you there, seems he hasn't gotten his ass kicked enough," Zoie said as she got comfortable and turned down the road. "Especially considering he is fucking with the woman that pays his bills and keeps him fed. When was the last time any of the shit you did manged to pay off?" she snipped towards her brother.

"I do what needs to be, doesn't matter if I get paid," he snapped back.

"Easy to say when I keep your bank account padded. Wonder just how long it would take to spread your fingers if I cut your ass off," she said in a warning voice. Relic rolled his eyes towards her before looking away. Shaking her head a bit, Zoie glanced over towards Mali. "Well, will just have to make sure I am getting what I am paying for," she teased back as they headed towards the Diamond district.

Justice Asylum: "Yeah, well with this one you never know what she is going to do. Reminds me of a patient that I had in here decades ago. Just as off her rocker, but she killed three orderlies and an administrator before she escaped," the nurse said idly as they walked down the hall way. Coming to the door she pulled out her keys but stopped as she glanced into the window on the door.

"Oh for fucks sake," she said under her breath. "She's going to need more sedatives at this point, just look at that mess," she added. "Oh well at least we only have one to deal with right now. Half glad the other was taken, I don't think my patience could take two like this today." Slipping her key into the lock she let it click. Pushing the door open slowly she braced herself.

Gun Range: Roy watched Riley try again. Bringing it back he looked over the target again. Tossing it to the side he set down another clip, gave her a few more corrections, and sent another target down. He did this again and again and again. It was hours that passed but he kept changing out the clip and the target. Each time she seemed to be getting a grasp on it he would switch out the weapon, going a bit larger each time. By the time he pulled off his safety glasses and ear plugs.

"Seems you got a decent grasp on things now. Wouldn't trust you to shoot the broad side of a barn if we were in a fire fight but nothing personal," he chuckled. "Just that shooting here and out there are two different things but I don't think you'll shoot me if I am standing in front of you anymore," he laughed as he tossed them down on the counter and brought the last target back to them. She had only been at it a day but considering the amount of time and one on one training she had gotten that day she was doing better than most first dayers. Her latest target hit several in the center, only missed one on the paper, and the rest hit the body somewhere.

"Here ya go," he said handing it over to her. "It's good enough to get licensed now."

Justice Memorial: A good amount of time passed in silence before there was any sound. A few people seemed to pass his door but none stopped in front of it and kept moving along their path. The door slowly opened and there was a woman in a lab coat standing there. She was of Asian birth and much younger than the nurse that was attending him earlier but still older than most that were roaming the halls right then.

She nearly stepped in when said nurse came up to her. "Yes, they are moving the body. Could you put in time of death and cause here," she said as she handed over the clip board to the doctor.

"Cardiac arrest, post surgery complications," the doctor said as she jotted down a few things and handed over the clip board. "There you go, take that down to the morgue and place it with the rest of his files," she added before dismissing the nurse and turning towards Felix. Stepping into the room fully she gave him a slight weary smile. "Sorry about the delay. I would have been in to see you earlier but things happen. I'm Dr. Chang."

Precinct 54: "I wish I could help you with that," Special Agent Collins said on the phone. There was a brief pause before he spoke again. "Listen, I wish this was just some FBI red tape but I honestly have no idea what is going on with this file. Not my case. You would have to speak with Agent Tinder about that but unfortunately he is out of the office currently," he informed her.

"I can leave him a message for you or see if I can patch you through to his cell. Either way," he added after a few more moments. Tapping his pencil on the desk before leaning up sharply. "Or you could come down to the office. Maybe he will be back by then?"

Spread his fingers? What the hell did she mean by that? Was that some weird Southern and/or Californian saying she'd never heard of before? Or maybe she had messed up another figure of speech entirely? Was she wondering how long it would be until Relic ran out of cash after getting cut off, or how long it would take to start stealing cash from others? Or she could even be talking about something that hadn't even occurred to Mali. Of course, she could always just ask what she meant by that peculiar turn of phrase, but it felt like such a question would be out of place.

So for the time being, Mali just sat in silence and waited for Marc to drive them all to the Diamond District. She'd never been there, and really fancy parts of major cities was outside of her experience. Sure she'd visited Boston plenty of times and had been to some of the nicer parts of the city, but nothing upscale or out of her class. While the shopping trip to come was certainly something she was excited for, she couldn't help but feel like she would be extremely out of place. Even more so than usual. Something about class isolationism felt more jarring than simply sticking out because you look like a freak.

Riley Ridgeway

Location: The Shooting Range

It felt like forever as Riley fired gun after gun and listening to Roy as he gave her pointers and advice after every shot she had made, taking it to heart and listening to everything he had said. She started to get more comfortable and used to the guns when she fired and then switching weapons. Once she was finished with the last gun and Roy started to roll back the target that she had finished shooting at, Riley watched as Roy unclipped the target.

Riley set down the headphones and the protective eyewear onto the table, she started to inspect the target tucking a stray strand of hair behind her ear and smiled seeing her latest handy work all but one had hit the target. "None taken, i'd probably end up shooting myself in the foot or something." Riley said jokingly as she looked back down at the target then towards Roy. "Thanks again by the way." Riley said with a friendly smile.

She was really grateful for what Roy has been doing for her, getting her to safety yesterday and then showing her how to shoot for real. "So whats the plan now anyway, don't you have work or something as well?" Riley asked, she knew he was a detective and she wasn't sure if he was going to be on duty later today or not.

Felix Hausten

Location: Justice Memorial Hospital

Felix's head went up as the silence was rudely interrupted by the return of sound to his isolation chamber. The noise was made by the slight shifting of a door opening to reveal a woman who looked far more approachable and welcoming than his previous nurse, and looked to be of Asian descent. He chuckled in his head, a few little fantasies running around in his head. He shook his head slightly, causing a little pain as he looked up at her and the other nurse.

It appeared there'd been some sort of mishap in the hospital, one Felix quickly decided wasn;t any of his business. When he asked about something like that, Mr March would come knocking again. Right now the last thing he needed was that scruffy asshole bursting down the door with a crowbar in hand. If a killer like that enterred he was fucked, he knew that. The tubes and the rising pain helped reassure him he was helpless.

With the tray in hand he gave a weak smile to Dr Chang, a woman who seemed lovely compared to his last carer, a phrase he hated to even think. "Thank you for taking time to see me Dr Chang" he said with a slight hiss of pain with the last syllable. "I hope i'm not interrupting too serious of matters, you already know, but my name is Felix Hausten, a pleasure"

Priya Khurana

Location: Precinct 54 -> Road to FBI Headquarters

Priya didn't know what to make of it. Was he purposefully withholding information due to bureaucratic nonsense or were his hands really tied? She could kind of tell he was in a bind and that made her respect him a little bit more. It was also noted that his last sentence was highlighted. Did he want her to come? Surely he wouldn't have put emphasis (even a little bit) on it if he didn't. "I was just about to head out anyway, so I'll stop by. Thanks for something, at least. Perhaps I'll see you shortly." She hung up before she gathered her file and necessary equipment and made for her car. Before she left, she stopped by the front desk to drop off a message. If her partner came in, call her on her cell.

Once she was inside, she pulled out of the precinct. Her thoughts raced. She was still looking for her partner and no one had seen him. Was he inside of this case? Is he in danger? Is he dead? Surely they would have found his body by now, right? She had only just started and already she could tell she made the right choice to transfer here. Something weird was going on and she would find out what.

Cecily Ashworth

Location: Private Hangar in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico

Cecily was beginning to regret that she hadn't learned to speak Spanish. It would've been incredibly useful at the moment, as well as with life in California. But her grandmother had practically insisted that both Cecily and her brother learn a little bit of French--just in order to be able to communicate with the extended family. Her grandmother was definitely a family woman, despite her own background that stunned Cecily whenever she learned a little more of it. She still spoke about her aunts and uncles, as well as her favorite aunt, Nora. Cecily just remembered an impression that Nora was the ugly duckling of her grandmother's aunts and uncles.

Cecily raised an eyebrow and looked over at Natasha. Despite Benicio and Caesar attempting to explain things, Cecily wasn't sure who or what Nuestra Dama de la Muerte was. The mentioning of rites brought to mind a storyline in the X-Men comics, where Gambit had to go back to Louisiana and pay tribute to some deity with his former gang. But that was just a story--magic and everything wasn't real. And from the way Benicio and Caesar spoke about Nuestra Dama de la Muerte, it sounded like it was a real person.

It worried her slightly that they weren't going to a secure facility. Everything that had happened so far gave Cecily an urge to go and hide in a bunker, catching up on iZombie episodes. Maybe she could even rewatch Twin Peaks and look for plot holes. The stern hazel eyes visible in the rearview mirror didn't help to settle her nerves. Biting her lip nervously, Cecily really wondered if she should've gone to graduate school instead of taking that job in Justice.

What the hell was her life anymore?

Iris Kingston

Location: Justice Asylum

Iris' eyes widened, unsure of how to respond to Nurse Cratty. It was always a possibility that a patient would go berserk--yesterday had been a prime example--but it was still shocking to hear about it. Jaina hadn't even made it out the door, but this patient had escaped as well as murdered three people? Most people would've never come back to this place, Iris imagined. Nurse Cratty likely would've known those who died...and yet, she kept coming back. That was courageous.

"Quel dommage..." Iris whispered, taking in the bloody mess. She knew she was supposed to see a monster, but instead, she saw a broken shell of a person. She wasn't familiar with Jaina's psychiatric history, something that she'd definitely need to read up on. Had she been given any proper medication, if she was this far gone?

"Dobro pozhalovat', damy i gospoda, v Tsirk pravosudiya! V etom uglu u nas yest' medsestra Cratty! Kak vy dumayete, rebyata? Dolzhny li my videt', znayet li ona kakiye-nibud' tryuki?" Jaina announced, suddenly jerking to her feet as she gestured towards Cratty. It was a bit of an awkward movement due to the restraints, but considerably more graceful than the average person could've done. Jaina had been an acrobat, after all.

"Shhhh! The studio audience is talking!" Jaina chastised, shaking her finger at Iris, who was trying to comprehend what she was seeing. "You can turn on the subtitles if you wanna watch~!" Jaina then paused, as if someone was whispering in her ear. "Akh, golosa v! Eto mamushka dlya medsestry Cratty!"

"...Do you speak Russian, by any chance?" Iris asked, looking towards Nurse Cratty.

Caesar Gonzalez

Location: Streets of Monterrey -> La Hacienda

Caesar said little as the limousine traveled along the streets of Monterrey. There was the occasional grunt and nod of agreement as they discussed their plans for the day, or rather, as Benecio addressed Cecily and Natasha about their plans for the day. Caesar had buried many people. He knew the drill. Benecio had officiated the deaths of many people. He also knew the drill. But with the (slightly) younger Gonzalez brother talking, one might have seen the hurt in his eyes. This was personal. This was his niece laying dead in the hearse in front of them. Talking seemed to keep his emotions in greater check.

The old man's voice was heard, in the form of an irritated "¡Ay!" as their car took a corner and ran over the edge of the sidewalk, again, the second time since they set out. A muffled but equally irritated "Sorry!" could be heard from the other side of the partition in perfect American accent. Caesar lowered the partition about an inch, just enough for clear communication. He opened his mouth to say something else, but instead shook his head and remained silent. Benecio was conversational, if understanding of their position. "If either of you ladies feel the need to rest your eyes for the trip, I will not be offended. Travel takes a lot out of me, too. There is time for a short nap." But he did continue, "La Hacienda Gonzalez is a lovely place, but it was not always thus. Originally, it was an old Spanish Mission, built to service the needs of a pilgrims and travelers on the road. There were rumors that evil spirits haunted the mountains very nearby. It was used as a fort for a time, after the church pulled out, and then as the centerpiece of a village, until it was mostly abandoned. This is where Caesar and I grew up.

Caesar gave Benecio a long, hard look as he gave up a portion of their life story. It wasn't really much of a huge deal, though. He was just curious as to why his brother was being so forthcoming. But the subtle lines of pain in his face let him know. Caesar sighed, but he did begin talking. Laying a hand on Benecio's shoulder, he picked up for him. "There wasn't a lot of us left. Almost everyone moved out. Rest of us were familia by blood or marriage. We just built it up. Walls, wells, additions to the homes. With our hands at first, then we could put money into it. It looked nice when I saw it last. Been years."

"It is still beautiful, hermano." responded Benecio, speaking as much to their guests as to Caesar. "Three houses with courtyards, surrounding a larger courtyard. Spanish tile, cobblestones, thick, soft grasses and moss. Pools, gardens. I have taken every cent you have sent us, Caesar, put it into our home." his voice shifted, "You should come back to us. It's yours, anyway. I'm just taking care of it for you."

The elder Mexican growled softly and refused to respond.

The rest of the trip passed with Benecio answering any questions thoughtfully and honestly. They had made it out of the city proper, and the buildings became smaller and more rural in nature almost immediately. Similarly, they became much more spaced out. Their speed increased now that they had hit more open road, and in less time than one might give the distance credit, they were pulling up a gentle hill toward what looked like a manned fort.

It was everything that Caesar and Benecio had described, and more. High, thick walls surrounded the estate, topped with curved iron bars in some places and thick, jagged glass in others. There were many people present, and many vehicles sporting campers, along with the occasional RV. Tents were set up, grills, pavilions, etc., as if this were a public park or campsite. The occasional generator dotted the scene with heavy cords running from them. But that was just on the outside. There was a gateway of carved stone encircling wrought-iron gates and formidable wooden doors bound with black metal. These were open, revealing a huge courtyard with grass and benches in the center. Three traditional looking Spanish Colonial houses were constructed around this courtyard, two stories tall each and all of them looking very much like they were trapped in time. The one in the center was decidedly larger than the other two, sporting a partial third floor to the rear that appeared useful as a guard post or sniping area. Balconies were everywhere, stone and metal both.

People moved from place to place within the estate, casually doing their work or merely visiting, but very few went into the larger dwelling. The limo pulled into an open-air parking garage reminiscent of a stable, and the car's engine cut off. They had arrived. Benicio was the first to speak, "If you do not wish your bags to be handled by others, please mention now. Otherwise, I will show you to your rooms." He opened his door and stepped to one side to get the other door, holding up a finger to halt the men approaching the vehicle.

Meanwhile, Caesar exited the door nearest him and tapped on the driver's window. A much younger lady slowly opened the door and stepped out. The only thing that marked her as a chauffeur was her cap; the rest of her attire consisted of semi-perforated jeans, a long green shirt, and a fitting, leather motorcycle jacket. She popped off the cap and lay it in the driver's seat, closing the door behind her. She was lighter of skin and had bobbed pixie cut of thick, black hair that looked like it was two weeks past needing a trim, falling just over glaring, hazel eyes common to a particular bloodline. The two of them looked at one another for a solid few seconds. It was abruptly cut off by a sharp clapping sound as the young lady's hand found connection with the side of Caesar's face, causing an instant stopping of everything happening nearby. Movement ceased.

Another two tense seconds passed, and the woman burst into loud, unrestrained tears, wrapping Caesar into a deceptively strong embrace. Caesar wordlessly returned the gesture, just allowing her to get all of her emotion out. Benicio, ever the diplomat, looked to Cecily and Natasha, "This is personal. Let us get you settled in. Please follow me."

J. Keystone

Location: Streets of Justice -> Queensguard Industries R&D, Security Hub

In Justice, there was an interesting and particularly stuffed group of MSS employees in an outfitted Dodge Ramcharger hauling ass down the streets and boulevards, pulling haphazardly done California Rolls through intersections where turns were required, and otherwise cruising along in moderate to high spirits. Well, moderate spirits, if we were being honest. The truth was, despite getting the feeling that the Seattle Tech guys were an okay group of people, Keystone felt a sudden twang of guilt. "Shoulda gone with 'em..." he grumbled to no one in particular, maneuvering the vehicle down the road all the while.

"What?" This from Ibanez, in the passenger seat beside him.

"Mexico. Shoulda gone. I knowed Alicia pretty good, better'n a lot. Trained me, she did, protocol and such, whenever they set up in London. Lot of one-on-one stuff. We was friends. I shoulda gone with 'em to see 'er off."

From the backseat, a female voice sounded, "Hey asshat! Stop feeling sorry for yourself. We're all here because we knew her, and we got a job to do. All five of us to take one little her's place, and we still don't have our final piece yet. We're giving her honor by doing our jobs, damnit. Visit her fucking grave later."

Keystone nodded. She was a bitch but she was right. "Fair 'nuff, ya twatbiscuit. All's said an' done, I'm takin' us all on a trip that way, then. Sip tequila, tell Taco Belle stories, yeah?"

About at that time, they pulled up to the first security checkpoint for Queensguard. Keystone flashed his credentials, as did the others in his vehicle. They were promptly scanned, a cursory exterior check was performed on the Ramcharger (plus other, less obvious electronic sweeps), and they were waved in. The big man drove past the regular parking lot, just a touch deeper into the complex before pulling into the Motor Pool. "Sorry 'bout the added walk, lady and gent. Grab your stuff, let's hoof it to the Hub."

As the group removed themselves from Keystone's vehicle and reacquired their gear, Keystone waved over the officer in charge of the garage. "Look, this bugger's a great ride, but she needs some touches, y'understand. Bring her entertainment package into this millennium, yeah? Bloody music system, somethin' I can copy m'tunes into. Bloody radio package, the send 'n' receive type, yeah? GPS! Voice activated 'lecronics! Bloody tow hitch! Automatic cable winch! Make it a modern bloody security wagon! Bulletproof is tops, but that's all she's got." He began to walk back to his Tech crew, but called back behind him, "Full options! No clunky "in my fongin' way" tripe, neither! Replace the dash if you gotta. You got 'til end of business, today. This is your only job." Hopefully, they'd get it done. And by "hopefully", he meant, "heads will roll otherwise".

A few more minutes saw them back at the Security Hub, where the Tech Crew fell into line like they owned the place. They quickly began taking over desk space and rearranging furniture until they had their own knot of technology, existing and their imported gear, and had direct line of sight with each other. Their computers and other personal electronics were interconnected, building upon each other and interfacing with zero lag as a single unit possessing multiple access points. The existing staff could only sit back and witness what was going on, as Keystone gave them the occasional glare or shush gesture. When they were set up, he addressed the rest of the people in the Hub.

"This 'ere's our new Tech Team. Rest of you lot're gonna fall in line under'em. I catch a bloody hint of negative, you are fired, and I will toss you through a bloody window. Send your last fortnight's pay to intensive care. This here's the real deal, ladies and gents. You ain't fully with this, get your arse out. Now." He looked around the room, eyeballing everyone still around. You'll adjust. For the now, someone make coffee. Lots. Give them whatever they need, period."

*Quick Note: Color codes for location headers will denote time of day basically. Not so much tie of day but look for matching ones to see if you are in the same ~time frame~ as others.

La Hacienda: Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico : Natasha kept to herself during the drive. Listening to what was said but not replying. She still wasn't feeling too well and felt it was just best to try to relax some. As they pulled up to the house she glanced around and took it in. It was very beautiful and much grander than she had expected but she wasn't going to complain. If she had to be in Mexico, might as well enjoy it. Stepping out of the limo she shook her head some. She didn't have a problem with anyone carrying her bags and due to her recovery welcomed any help with it. She was about to say something when she heard the smack. Her head twisting around to see where it came from. Well that was unexpected, her eyes showing a bit of a shock. She wasn't sure if she was shocked someone had the nerve to slap Caesar or the fact he didn't rip her head off. Looking back over to the priest she swallowed hard and nodded in agreement. "Um yeah, that sounds great," she said as she waited for him to lead the way, casting a glance towards Cecily and motioning with her head as if to say "let's get the hell out of here before the bullet start flying."

Natasha hadn't gotten more than two steps when a woman stepped out of the front of the house. She was older than the women that had traveled with Caesar to Mexico and didn't seem to have the same facial features as Caesar or his brother but there was something familiar about the way she looked; Natasha couldn't put her finger on it. The woman dressed in jeans, a button down white shirt with light embroidery on it, and a low heeled pair of tan boots. Her hair, Natasha figured was long, was put up in a thick bun on the back of her head. Streaks of silver cutting into the dark strands of hair. On her hip she carried a baby that couldn't have been more than a year old. "Caesar Hannibal Gonzalez..." she said in a rather American voice, there was a heavy amount of Mexican accent to the way she spoke but also a lot of southern. Natasha cocked a brow, was this woman about to hit him as well? The doctor didn't get a chance to ask when she spotted the baby sneeze a few times and that the babies nose was running. Natasha had no idea if it was a girl or a boy. At that age clothing usually told you but the kid was in yellow... Fucking neutral shades.

Adjusting the baby slightly the woman took the burp rag from her shoulder and tended to the child. "Malditas alergias," the woman said under her breath before she looked over at the group again. She could feel Natasha staring at the baby and her eyes narrowed somewhat. "Never seen a sick child before?" she asked in English, figuring the white chick couldn't speak a lick of Spanish.

Natasha snapped out of it and had to refrain from rolling her eyes. These people were in mourning she told herself. "Actually yes, far too many. That isn't allergies. See the dark circles under the eyes? That is a sign of slight dehydration and usually a precursor to a cold." Natasha kept her voice even, Dr. Brinne coming out.

"Oh, so your a pediatrician?" the woman asked, not as harshly as she had but still a bit too scathing for Natasha's like.

"No," she began but was cut off.

"Well then," the woman began to retort but Natasha was having none of it this time.

"I'm a Surgeon, specializing in Emergency Medicine, Trauma. So I've been to medical school and did complete my rotation in pediatric medicine," she said swiftly. The woman cocked a brow and looked over towards Caesar.

"Traveling with your own surgeon now? Was that before or after our daughter was killed?" she asked in a scathing voice. Her narrowing towards Caesar as the baby sneezed again. Shaking it off she looked back at Natasha. "Well if you can keep his ass alive, you must be the right hand of god." Natasha just stood there with her mouth slightly agape. She wasn't exactly sure what to say at this point, she hadn't exactly wanted to get dragged into a family matter but she could tell the baby was sick beyond just hay fever. She had to say something, Hippocratic oath and all that.

Diamond District: As they pulled into the Diamond District Zoie sat up slightly. It wouldn't be long now and sure enough before a few more minutes passed Marc had pulled up to the curb and stopped the car. Outside the window one could easily see a line of shops, all high end, all with people coming in and out of wearing clothing that cost far more than many made in a month. Fluffing her hair some and checking her makeup in her compact, Zoie looked over towards Mali and winked. "Okay, no worries, just a girl taking her girl on a shopping spree," she said as the door opened and Marc held his hand out to help Zoie out of the car.

Stepping out Zoie handed Marc her purse to hold for a moment as she rebuttoned her jacket. It might has seemed odd to button and rebutton it each time she sat down or stood up but there was a reason behind it. Sitting caused wrinkles and pulled on the thread that held the buttons in place. Unbuttoning it when she sat down kept added wrinkles from setting in and additional wear and tear on the tread. Rebuttoning was for appearances, to give the look it was supposed to have. Looking around she took her purse back from Marc and tucked it beneath her arm. "Okay, pick a store, any store," she said as she stood there. There were many choices (Have fun with that.) and Zoie figured it was best for Mali to pick a store that got her attention instead of dragging her to one.

Justice Asylum: Cratty shook her head slightly. "Not one damn it. All I heard was my name and something that sounded like an Addams Family movie," she quipped as she stood there. The nurse was waiting for Jaina to lunge at one of them. "Sorry, subtitles are not on this copy of the dvd, mind switching languages?" the nurse asked. It wasn't the first time she had dealt with a patient that spoke more than one language, though she had to admit she had never been asked to turn on the subtitles before. If she could she would have, hell if she could have hit a mute button on half the patients she tended to she would have. A Pause button would have been great as well.

"And while your at it, maybe sit down. Let me clean you up. I'll let you keep the rag when I am done. Could use it to spruce up the place, hang it like a painting," she added as she pointed over to the bed. She wasn't sure how to handle this one but the old nurse always had a few tricks up her sleeve. She had to after the years she spent working in this place. In fact if one would check the records she was the longest running staff member the hospital had. Over thirty years. If you didn't pick up a trick or two after that long dealing with Crazies you were in the wrong line of work.

Gun Range: Roy nodded. "I do but I wanted to take care of this first," he said as he packed up things. Throwing the bag over his shoulder he motioned for Riley to follow him. "Let's get your license taken care of. It will take a few days for a background check and all but at least you know how to handle one now," he added as he opened the door and headed down the hallway. Making his way through the building he moved quickly passed the other private ranges, locker rooms, and so forth until he came to a door marked "Permits".

Stepping inside was a man that looked like he was probably one of those doomsday preppers in his spare time. "Gregory! Been a while," he said and Roy nodded as he stepped over to the counter and shook the mans hand.

"Sure has been," Roy said as he placed his bag down on the floor.

"What can I do for ya?" the man behind the counter asked.

"Got a girl here that needs a permit. Just finished her first lesson," Roy said as he motioned for Riley to come over and join him.

Justice Memorial: Dr. Chang looked over to Felix and shook her head. "No your fine," she said as she picked up his chart. "We just had a patient that needed a bit more attention than you did for a bit." Making a few notes to the chart she set it back down and shoved her hands into her lab coat pockets. She looked over him for a few moments in silence after her eyes had studied his monitors.

"Now, why don't you tell me how you are recovering. Any side effects from the surgery? Feeling woozy at all? Need more pain meds? How if your food settling? How much have you been able to eat? Any internal discomfort other than your surgical site?" she rattled off as she as she stood there. It seemed to be your typical questions after surgery.

Precinct 54: "Sure thing, just give your name at the desk. I will leave word that I am expecting you. You will be checked, weapons will have to be left at the front desk. Escort will bring you to my office. See you shortly," he said before hanging up the phone and leaning back in his seat.

Leaning forward once again he picked up his phone and dialed a number. All he got was Marc's voicemail, again. Grumbling to himself he tossed down the receiver a bit more hard than he had been meaning too and rubbed his face out of frustration. He had been trying to get a hold of Marc all morning but the man had yet to return a call or text. He was beginning to worry that the man had actually gotten himself into something he couldn't get out of or even worse. Killed.

Yeah, this was about what she had expected. When Mali stepped out of the limo, she felt like she was being watched from all sides even though in her mind she knew that most people were probably minding their own business. So many people casually wearing clothes that she wouldn't be able to afford without a few months of dedicated saving, and the disparity in the quality of clothes struck doubly due to the fact that she was wearing someone else's hand-me downs that didn't fit properly. She stuck out, not like a sore thumb, but like a Dubble Bubble amongst Halloween chocolates: cheap and unwanted.

Well that would need to be the first thing to get taken care of. Mali looked out at the various stores and noted that they were smaller than she'd expected them to be. Then again, these kinds of stores made profit by charging tons of money to a very select crowd, they would need to be relatively small as a rule. Her eye was instinctively drawn to one store, simply titled Roux written in cursive script with ionized Argon lights.

It was artfully decorated with Modern stripes of blacks and dark grays at the top, with a sturdy foundation of artfully chosen bricks at the bottom, with large glass displays separating the two disparate designs. Behind the glass barricade were a pair of mannequins that were almost identical to actual people wearing the wares of the store: very fancy, but expensive dresses complete with large, stylish hats and equally expensive handbags in tow.

Wait. Mali took a closer look at the mannequins, and for a few seconds nothing happened, but then one blinked. Were those actual people standing there, modeling the clothes? Mere moments afterwards, the mannequin-models switched to new poses from the ones they were in prior. Alright, that settled it, that's the first store they'd hit up.

"Let's go to Roux first. I need to get out of these clothes as soon as possible." As soon as the words were out of her mouth, Mali remembered they technically belonged to Zoie. "No offense."

Priya Khurana

Location: Road to FBI Headquarters

As she drove, letting her phone guide her to her destination, her mind read over the case file. She was sure this was a hot one and she was excited to get started. So far, Justice had not been boring. She felt there was more to this town than it let on. She pulled into a Starbucks and picked up a frappucino before she made her way to the headquarters.

In the back of her head was memories of the past. The reason why she was doing this. Her sister, taken from her too young. Her parents grieving. And the man responsible, who was still out and about, probably kidnapping and killing more kids. It was that burning drive that still swelled up in her. She would find him, eventually. She didn't know what she would do, but she would find him.

She finally made it to the headquarters. She parked and locked her car, before she grabbed her things and made her way inside.

Riley Ridgeway

Location: The Shooting Range

"Sounds like a plan to me then." Riley said with a soft smile as she followed shortly behind Roy as they left their private shooting range, she looked around the other private lanes for a moment as Roy led the way. She was getting a feeling that some nosey reporter will somehow get wift of her getting a gun permit somehow as she walked through the building. Riley ran a hand through her hair as she looked at the door with the word 'permits' on it. Riley started to wonder how her parents would actually react to her handling a gun when she was a lot younger, Riley stood a few feet behind Roy looking at the guy behind the counter.

Riley looked between the two men the man behind the counter seemed to know Roy, eyeing the man up and down for a moment she could just get the prepper vibe from him. He probably had some kind of fallout shelter outside the city with a stash load of guns, and a crap load of canned food. When Roy mentioned her and waved her over to come up to the counter, she nodded as she walked over and looked between the two men. "I take it that the two of you know each other?"

Felix Hausten

Location: Justice Memorial Hospital

Relief was a virtue as she talked calmly to him, a voice that reassured him that death wasn't kncoking at his door. As much as he wished to inquire as to the whereabouts of his belonginGS, he realised he would be better to wait a little longer before bringing that up. Maybe after standard procendure was over and he was considered in control of his mind. "Oh no do not worry, I'm just glad the other patient was seen to instead of me" he replied with a weak smile, the accent turned up a notch.

He could almost place the face. His mind was all over the place though so everything was foggy. Could it be the asylum? Or the Derby? He was sure it was one of those places for sure. His mind, like his head, throbbed and caused Felix pain. All he had to do was survive his time in hospital and he could get out and make progress.

"Side effects? None I can think of, my memory is bashed up though, I can barely remember arriving here in America!" A lie, but he was hoping the amount of shock and trauma would be enough for his memory to have been impaired a little. He was still convinced he was bugged, he wanted the guy who had attacked him before to think, he'd forgotten it all. "The pain killers are wearing off a little yes, I've eaten what's been given, not the best I must say" He observed her stationary poses with a quizzical eye. "No internal hurting either"

Cecily Ashworth

Location: La Hacienda - Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico

Cecily wasn't sure exactly what she had expected, once Benicio began to fill in the details of his and Caesar's past. Caesar was wealthy from his company, but she hadn't imagined a complex quite this grand and developed. For whatever reason, she thought it would be something quaint and small, something off the books, like Hawkeye's farm in the Avengers: Age of Ultron. It was either that or a dragon's den, where Caesar was born in blood or fire. Both of those seemed likely. But this? It was so...pleasant. And extravagant for a man who lived in an apartment.

That did raise one question: why were Caesar and Alicia living in the Boston Heights? If they were rich enough to have limos and this place, couldn't they have had their own home? For a small moment, Cecily's paranoia came back in full force.

Exiting the car, Cecily figured letting someone else handle her bags would be fine. She was used to having to lug them around, but since Natasha wasn't asking for aid, she didn't want to either. She didn't want to have to cause any sort of awkwardness or have a social misstep. She returned Natasha's glance, feeling a bit out of place here. They had been brought to someplace incredibly personal during a trying time...was coming with Caesar even the right thing to do? She decided to stay quiet as a woman - Caesar's wife? - started to berate Caesar, getting on Natasha's case as well.

Yeah, this wasn't awkward at all...

Iris Kingston

Location: Justice Asylum

Jaina's eyes widened in recognition of the phrase Addams Family. She used to know someone who the show seemed to be practically based off of and she squealed in delight. In her mind, this meant a Crypt was likely at the asylum! They always had the best ideas of things to do~! Of course, Jaina wasn't sure if she wanted to get cleaned up. It took a lot of effort to get her clothes to look this pretty and she wasn't about to stop that. Shaking her head slightly, it practically rolled around on her neck, as if she was from the Exorcist or something.

"Soooooorry! You should've bought the Blu-Ray Digital HD DVD bundle for only $19.99!" Jaina giggled, before turning again as if to face an imaginary camera. "С кем мне сначала играть? Врач или медсестра?" Jaina then paused, once again listening to something only she could hear. She nodded eagerly. It would get her both a bloodied rag. "You're lucky my producer likes you two soooooo much~! But here's a cliffhanger for you, one you'll need to shill out money to see the crappy sequel in order to understand!"

Jaina then ceased moving, her own little indication that Nurse Cratty could start to clean her up. Iris couldn't help but feel a little wary. "I'm not sure this is the appropriate facility for her..." Iris said quietly to Nurse Cratty. "Should we sedate her and put in for a transfer?" She still wanted to help Jaina, but Iris was beginning to feel more and more out of her element. She primarily worked with halfway house patients. A more experienced psychiatrist might be able to get through to Jaina in ways that Iris wouldn't have learned just yet.

"BE QUIET! I'M ANNOUNCING THE PLOT TWIST!" Jaina screamed, suddenly turning livid as she tried to shush Iris. "I know what you want to know! Люди, это то, что мне нравится называть красной селедкой!"

Caesar Gonzalez

Location: La Hacienda

Benecio nodded in acquiescence, waving over one of the men approaching from the courtyard. They had a quick back-and-forth, with the priest pointing to the back of the vehicle, after which the two of them began loading each other up with baggage and personal effects. Even Caesar's heavy case made it into the mix, a fact that the older man noticed but said nothing about. There was an implied trust there, a sense that was not present in Caesar elsewhere. The man was literally surrounded by family. Mostly extended and as many by marriage as by blood, but family nonetheless.

The young woman sobbing in Caesar's arms straightened up suddenly with the approach of the older lady carrying a young child. She quickly dried her tears and whispered, "There's a lot to say, Tio. Promise me we'll talk later?" The old man nodded, but did not speak. He noticed the woman approach as well and seemed to mentally brace for something. "I'll find you in a little while, okay?" were her last words before walking toward the main house, away from the increasingly awkward moment.

Caesar patiently waited until her conversation with Natasha was finished and she addressed him directly before speaking. When he did, it was with respectful but assertive tones. "Hola, Maria. It has been a long time. I am so very sorry." His eyes went to the child on her hip but he did not mention anything right that second, preferring to deal with one minor issue at a time. "The surgeon is here for Cecily's care. They both have been a great help, and needed to get out of the city. They are our guests." he looked the woman dead in the eyes, "We did not meet until after."

Giving some direct attention to the very new child, Caesar took the conversation in a different direction. "Beautiful baby. I don't remember getting notice about a birth." As the family's patriarch, it was considered respectful for the far flung members of the Gonzalez clan to have sent him a message concerning a new child being brought into the world, if just to get a blessing in passing for it. Usually, these things would mean a gift on Caesar's part, monetarily or something meaningful. Mostly monetarily, though. But here was a child on the hip of one who has bourne a Gonzalez, and he had heard nothing. Lacking simple oversight or disrespect, this might mean that the child was not of his blood. "Is this one yours, or are you watching it for someone?" A blatant example of fishing for information. It was quite possible that the woman had passed her childbearing years, though Caesar wouldn't put it past the realm of possibility out of her sheer force of will, which in his experience was often enough to bend the effects of time and physics.

Benecio glared back at the situation developing between Maria and Caesar and shook his head sharply. His face suddenly changed into a hospitable smile as he looked back at Natasha and Cecily, and he encouraged, "Come on, we'll get you set up upstairs." He began to lead them into the main house.

Those following Benecio and the as yet unintroduced porter would have been led through a cobblestone courtyard with what appeared to be an empty shrine of some kind in the center back area. Several cushions were upon the ground in even intervals, as it used like seating, with proper chairs around the outside. Fitted wood, stained and smooth, spanned the length of what appeared to be a recessed water feature, such as a smaller indoor pool or cistern access, and toward the side there was an actual, old-fashioned stone well with manual pump slightly offset. Tables were set up on either side of the empty shrine, and similar tables, all cleared, rested near the main entrances to the courtyard. This place had the look of an event yet to happen.

He led them through a side entrance and up a single set of stairs to the upper floor overlooking the courtyard as one massive balcony, and then to the nearest door on their left. This he opened and entered, beckoning others to follow. Benecio carefully set the bags down and opened the curtains to the exterior windows, allowing in more than adequate light. Two well appointed double beds dominated the room, with plenty of space for two people to maneuver simultaneously between them. A thick wooden wardrobe stood on each side of the room, near the beds, and there was a desk, smallish round table, and two chairs. There was a closed door, presumably to a bathroom, and another open door leading to a wholly separate area containing two sectional couches, a long, stocked bar, laden bookshelves, a dark, polished wood coffee table, and a flat screen television of proportions most luxurious. There was another door opposite the one they entered, closed, and one leading back to the balcony, also closed.

"Please, make yourselves at home." he offered, singling Caesar's bags out from Cecily's and Natasha's. He sent the other man on his way and continued speaking, "The main room is at your disposal, as well as anything inside of it. You will find a pantry and refrigerator behind the bar if you need it. The other members of the household will give you your privacy while you are in these rooms, but otherwise, you will be around a lot of people. Oh, which reminds me - the other bedroom is occupied. I hope you do not mind; it belongs to my daughter when she is in town."

"The main kitchen downstairs is also at your disposal, as is the pool out back and the gardens. The kitchen... well, best of luck with any privacy down there. The other members of the Familia know about your presence and those who know English have been asked to speak it as much as they can when you are around. If you need anything, anything at all, ask anyone. They will help you. Oh yeah, WiFi password is on a card on the desk."

In the meantime, please rest, wash, refresh. I will let my little girl know that you are settling in now. Feel free to knock." Benecio exited the room, made a quick sign of the cross to the open doorway, and gave a parting, "Our Lady's blessings be upon you." before retreating down the hallway.

J. Keystone

Location: Queensguard Industries R&D, Security Hub

Back in Justice, Keystone was pretty much leaving the new Hub's setup to the Seattle Tech group, who had vastly more knowledge and experience doing this particular job. He did take note of the faces around the room, which ones had remained since he first set foot on the premises despite massive and sweeping change that had befallen the company in such a short time. Those who grumbled and wailed the least were, in his opinion, either the ones in need of a raise or people who might not need to be there, owing to possible espionage. He was putting the hurt to a few people, leaning hard on others. It was not perhaps the best management technique ever. Hopefully, El Jefe would find an appropriate replacement for him before too long. Keystone didn't want to destroy the company's Justice branch, although it felt like they were at war, prompting him to want to push back against the aggressors somehow. It was cumbersome, wishing to do more yet being limited to business as usual.

Instead, he sent a message to Caesar.

Tech team in place, London team in the air. Standing by. Will report via email. You lot stay safe.

While it wasn't quite as useful as full access to her laptop, Keystone did make good on his promise to grant access to Alicia's company intranet account to the new team. It wouldn't provide the access that an active Director's account otherwise would, her being deceased, but it would contain everything she had done (officially) prior to her demise. After they assessed the branch's current security situation and shored up the defenses, so to speak, it would provide an excellent place to begin their internal audit. In the meantime, he had to content himself with processing daily paperwork and managing a staff of security agents going about their routine. They still had an R&D facility to maintain, lest their contract come under fire. Bills needed to be paid somehow.

*Quick Note: Color codes for location headers will denote time of day basically. Not so much tie of day but look for matching ones to see if you are in the same ~time frame~ as others.

La Hacienda: Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico : Natasha didn't want a part of this and it seemed like things were only going to get worse. She was glad when it was time for them to go inside. The doctor zipped her lips and moved quickly to follow Benecio. "Gracias," she said to the man as they headed towards where Natasha and Cecily would be staying. It was pretty obvious she was thanking the man not so much for showing them their room but for getting them away from that very awkward situation. Looking around their room once they got there she thanked the man again.

Finding a seat she sat down and let out a long huff. "Well that was interesting," she muttered to herself. She figured it would probably be a good idea to unpack at least a little bit and get settled but she really didn't have it in her just then. She had wanted to say more about the child and offer to have a look at the baby but with her just now starting to heal the last thing she needed to do was to be closely exposed to a child with a cold. Her immune system probably couldn't handle yet but she had to go and open her big mouth that she was a doctor, so if something went wrong and there wasn't a pediatrician near by she knew she would have to just suck it up. She was tired of sucking it up.

Maria eyed Caesar and waited for the area to clear away before stepping closer to him. The baby on her hip clung to her slightly, looking over towards Caesar with rather bright blue eyes. A trait not common to the family but the dark hair and small curls were completely those of a Gonzales. "Oh no, the baby isn't mine," she said as she looked down at the baby. "And no you wouldn't have, one wasn't sent out for this birth," she added before adjusting the baby and cradling it in her arms as if she was about to hand the child off to Caesar.

"This is Illiam Caesar Hannibal Keystone Gonzales," she said as she introduced the boy, holding him out slightly towards the gruff looking patriarch of the family. "Your grandson. We call him Liam."

Diamond District: Zoie stepped over to the window and watched the mannequins for a moment before Mali spoke up. She chuckled a bit. "None taken, come on let's get you something that fits better," she said before slipping her arm through Mali's and leading the way, even opening the door for her girl. Zoie knew they could easily be under someone's eye right then and she wasn't about to let her guard down for anything.

Zoie had half worried that Relic was going to get out of the car but thankfully he stayed put. Marc on the other hand stood there by the Limo, ready to just wait on the girls. Zoie didn't want him out in the open. "Oh driver, do be a dear and return promptly at 4 pm, in front of Bistro St. James. Have the car detailed while you are away," she said before waiving him off and heading into the store. Marc nodded quickly before rushing to the driver door. He was pulling off by the time Zoie finally stepped into the store. He wasn't about to question it, it would have been out of place for one and two he figured Zoie had a reason for sending him off. He wasn't too terribly worried though, he figured Zoie and Mali would be a much better pair if something went down than he and Relic would be. Sure Relic could hack anything but in a fight he knew the boy to be useless.

Inside Zoie looked around, eying one of the women that worked there and snapping her fingers at the middle aged woman. "You are to tend to her as if she was me, do you understand? Anything she wants, you get it. I don't care if it means sending someone to another store to find it," Zoie said in a flat authoritative tone. She wasn't about to have this woman treat Mali any different than if it was herself there shopping for personal clothing. Smiling brightly over to Mali she gave the woman a slight wink. "Let's have some fun."

Justice Asylum: Cratty kept watching Jaina and wondering just how off the woman was. She obviously was crazy, but there was something more going on. Why did she kept switching over to Russian? Was that just more insanity or were the subtitles they needed hold some meaning? It was worth a try. "I don't think so, no yet. Seen patients do a lot more damage to themselves, how about we find a translator," Cratty suggested before looking back over at Jaina.

"Now girl, we need to go to commercial break. Which means it is time for a snack. Hungry? Of course you are. Probably want something better than that god awful breakfast they forgot to bring you. You just tell Nurse Cratty what you want to eat, other than my soul, and we will go fetch it for you. That's only though if you promise not to make yourself bleed anymore while we are gone," Nurse Cratty said as she stood there and crossed her arms over her chest. It was odd the nurse seemed to be able to balance being compassionate with the patient and firm, while delivering options and sarcasm. The woman obviously had been at this gig a long time, Cratty had to wonder to herself if it was time to retire.

Gun Range: "Longer than I care to admit girl," the man said with a laugh.

"Which means anything longer than a day to Beni here," Roy said quickly with a smirk.

"Hey I thought you liked me!"

"I'm a cop, not your friend," Roy said before chuckling and shaking his head some. "Beni here isn't bad, just don't let him out one of his tin foil hats on you," he said to Riley, he was joking of course but there was meaning behind his words as his eyes traveled to the various posters on the wall denoting tons of outlandish conspiracy theories and even a few about Big Foot.

"You have to say that because they're listening," Beni said in all seriousness before looking over to Riley. "We better do what we're supposed to do before the black suits come in," he whispered before straightening up and pulling over some papers. "Yes, a permit. If you will fill these out and then place your finger prints here and here," he said as he flipped open an ink pad and pointed to the open spaces at the bottom of the permit forms.

"We all get put in the system sometime," Beni added in a disgruntled whisper. Roy could only roll his eyes.

Justice Memorial: Dr. Chang nodded a bit. "That is too be expected. You had a lot of trauma to your head, even besides your eye. Short term memory will be affected for sometime. It should come back slowly. Probably in spurts to start with that don't make sense, then you will get more detail as time goes by. Somethings you might never remember," she said as she sat down on the edge of the bed.

"Which in your case could be a good thing. From what I saw of the report and was told after the surgery, you might want to want to remember a crazed woman gouging your eye out with a crayon. I know I wouldn't," she said rather matter-of-factually. Looking over at his IV drip she nodded once again. "Yes, your pain meds would be wearing off right now. Some surgeries we just keep at it for a couple of days afterwards but others we hold off until the patient asks. We were not able to save the eye as you can most likely tell but we were able to save the nerve endings. This will cause some pain for a few weeks while you heal but on a good note, it does mean that you are a prime candidate for a transplant later on. So there is hope that you won't be walking with half your sight for the rest of your life."

Looking over at the food she smirked. "Well, it might not be tasty but it is nutritious. Will be a lot easier on your system than stuff you would make for yourself or buy on the street. Now if you have any intestinal discomfort, you need to let the nurse know at once. You won't be able to be discharged until you go. And I mean sit and go... You get what I am saying?" she said as she perked a brow. "Or do I need to explain in greater detail?"

FBI Headquarters Justice: Special Agent Collins put his feet up on his desk as he began to eat his lunch. Delivery Chinese, as per usual. A set of chopsticks poked at the dumplings he had ordered. He was hungry and needed to eat but his mind kept going back to Special Agent Tinder. The man really needed to call him back.

Down at the front desk, security was tight, as to be expected. Metal detectors, various agents armed at the entrance, and so forth. Spotting Priya as she entered, a tall African American man in a black suit eyed her from behind the main desk in the foyer. "Please tell me you are Detective Khurana?" he said in a suave voice as he adjusted his black tie and came around from behind the desk. "Special Agent Moreau, I was sent down by Collins to come escort you upstairs," he said as he motioned over towards the line standing for a security check. "You will need to show your id, relinquish any weapons and such. Then go through out version of the TSA search," he said with a broad grin. "Don't worry, we have more manners than they do."

Riley looked between the two men as they mentioned how they knew one another, as she looked around the room she noticed all of the conspiracy theory posters. The guy was certainly one of those crazy preppers she had seen on the news from time to time, she listened to the two of them speak and Riley smiled ever so slightly and nodded. "I don't think those hats would look that well on me at all." Riley said with a slight laugh, she remembered watching a movie called Signs years ago while traveling and knew the weird reference was from the movie.

"Nice to meet you Beni." Riley said giving the man a smile as he handed her a few papers, looking down as she started to read through some of it and started to sign in all of her relevant information, birthdate, first, middle and last name. Where she had been born, her eyes wondered over towards the ink pad that was there. She took her thumb pressing down on it as she got some of the ink there and started to put it down on the marked area. Riley then started to put down her signature on the papers before pushing the papers back over towards Beni and smiled slightly when he mentioned the men in black suits. "How long does it usually take for the license process anyway?" Riley asked wiping away the ink that was on her thumb now.

Mali remembered that she was there to provide cover, she needed to act like she belonged there. Unless not belonging was part of the cover. Who knew what part she needed to act to keep things going. Might as well just keep acting naturally for the time being. She could bother with trying to fit a specific role tonight.

That said, acting to her natural inclinations at that moment meant turning down virtually every little thing offered to her, which wouldn't mesh well with the whole goal of "get pretty for tonight." People waiting on her and acting to her every whim was a foreign experience and went against her self image. She thought of herself as being a relatively independent person who took care of most things she needed done herself.

Mali figured she would just need to suck up her discontent of the way the social hierarchy was set up within the confines of the store and try to enjoy herself. She'd try to avoid being as much of a hassle as possible as well. The staff were probably better paid than she was (although that wasn't too difficult of a feat to accomplish), but they probably dealt with enough cunts on a daily basis that she didn't need to give them one more headache to tend.

Now the first thing she'd need was a dress for the party tonight, so it would need to be relatively formal, but it was never specified the exact level of formality needed, so something that could be a bit relaxed if she wanted it to be. But aside from finding something cute, she also ran into the ever present problem of making sure that whatever she picked would fit, or could be semi-easily adjusted to be so.

Anything with sleeves was immediately out. Either her arms wouldn't fit, or she'd end up accidentally ripping them. If she wanted sleeves on a dress, she'd need to custom order it beforehand. After a few minutes she found a dress she liked, but wasn't entirely sure how appropriate it would be.

"How about this one," she asked Zoie, walking right up to the dress to get a closer look. "Is it too much?" She meant it in the sense of being too revealing as opposed to financial burden. It might be too much. She did want to show off, but a mostly backless, deep-neck, slitted gown might be too much for what was essentially a first date/introduction when she thought about it.
