Hansa was bit nervous about being leader. He was more or less responsible for the well being of these three others. He wasn't sure how to go about it just yet. He wanted to as Eve for advice but he knew she was out on a mission so he decided to send her a message via scroll on the way to their room. Finished initiation. Have a Team now, turns out I'm leader. When you get the chance, some advice? He was looking forward to getting to know his new teammates. They'd be together for 4 years after all, so there was plenty of time. He looked around their new room four beds and a couple desks. It looked rather plain. “Well, it's time for team HGCK to unpack!”
Sarah looked down at the rest of her team and couldn't believe it, she had a kitty, a deer and a regular teddy. She had someone to hug all the time. She was excited having been placed with such an adorable team. "What are the chances we all get paired up!? It's crazy, in a good way tho!" Sarah was again vibrating with excitement. "Well how should we get to know each other better? I'm up for hugs if you guys are!" Sarah's enthusiasm would be either intoxicating or concerning. She took her minigun off her back and placed it down gently making surprisingly little noise. She then smiled and opened her arms, she thought Zan might hug her but wasn't sure about the shy Bizz. And she knew that The kitty probably wouldn't go for it. But even if Zan was the only one to hug her it would still be worth a try.
The team names were announced and Glas jumped with glee, she was happy to be on a team of her own, especially with her new friend and partner Hansa. Though she hadn't ran into the other two members before she couldn't wait to learn all about them and fight by their side. Hansa gave their first order for them to unpack, "Yes Sir!" she said standing at attention quickly and giving the worse salute in history. She then smiled before heading off to their dorms. Upon the teams arrival she noticed it was one large room with four beds, she then looked at her team, "I'M SHARING WITH ALL BOYS!" she exclaimed, not expecting to be sharing rooms.
as zan entered the room they were to share she found a bed and sat down bounced her butt on it afew times and smiled laying down so that her head hung over the side and her feet in the air, her antlers almost hitting the floor as she looked at the others upside down now "we just met, now we are sharing a dorm for the next few years, im sure there will be things we learn of each other that we might not like...but we need to live as a team and work as a team" she said with a smile
Sarah frowned slightly at Lucas. "No I didn't. Just thought a hug might be nice." she then got her smile back as she looked over at Zan "Yeah, we got 4 years to get to know each other. This is going to be such fun!" she then took a seat on her bed and it creaked a little under her weight. She then couldn't help but grin as Lucas mentioned him being the only boy. "Oh yeah you are the only boy aren't you. This could be an interesting experience for you." her grin intensified. She then rolled her shoulders and lay on her bed properly, "So. First order of Bizzness. We need to redecorate, I mean look at this place." she gestured to the room in general believing it to be pretty boring.
Bizz shrugged at Sarah’s complaint. The room was classic, with minimum decoration and all the furnitures neccessary for staying. “Well, I think it’s pretty nice.” She said, sitting on her bed.
Sarah's grin went evil when she saw Lucas back away. He was easy prey. She then looked over at Bizz and the grin vanished, "Sure it's pretty nice. But we gotta make this place our own you know! Were gunna be here a while." she said as she got off her bed. "It's not like we have to do that much, just a little something to personalise. Like a pot plant or two. Something to add a little character. Sarah was used to being out in the county where her room basically was where ever she wanted it to be. On the couch, or in her brothers room and even in the barn with the cows. So the prospect of a blandish room was not really to her liking. Plus they needed something to do.
The mid-morning sun beat down intensely upon the students assembled at Beacon Cliff. Each student waiting with anticipation for the trial they would face as initiation. Kaldyr stood among these other students, just as uncertain as they all were, though his stoic expression did not mirror this. The other's were preparing by chatting with those they had met, likely to put off their own stresses. Kaldyr unfortunately hadn't really met anyone yet, so that option was nonexistent for him. The noise was insufferable close up, to him it was as if they were all yelling in an incoherent mess. His Faunus blood was the likely culprit of this, making their conversation sound much louder. Regardless it was distracting, he needed quiet, he needed to be alone with his thoughts for a moment. Swiftly, he made his way away from the talkative crowd and stood alone at the far end of the line of plates thinking to himself.
Why bring us here for initiation? There's something about all of this, the plates, the forest. Do they mean to weed out the weak? Cruel, yet effective. Then again, why would Beacon accept these people if they were unsuitable for huntsman training? There's a missing link in this somewhere...
His internal musings were cut short when Professor Ozpin began to speak.
"For years you have trained to become warriors. And today, your abilities will be evaluated in the Emerald Forest."
A test then? To see our capabilities for themselves? Makes enough sense.
He pondered this as Glynda spoke, not truly paying attention to her words. Yet when Ozpin spoke again, his train of thought made a screeching halt.
"These teammates will be with you for the rest of your time here at Beacon. So it is in your best interest to be paired with someone with whom you work well. That being said, the first person you make eye contact with after landing will be your partner for the next 4 years."
This elicited mixed reactions from the group, some happy, some shocked. Kaldyr was quite worried about just whom he'd be partnered with, the wrong person could transform his life at Beacon into a living hell. The way that the next four years were going to go was about to be decided for him in, quite literally the blink of an eye.Partners are being decided TODAY?! Shit. I-I don't even know anyone here. They're honestly going to have such an important decision made by sheer chance? He could only hope that luck and fate would be kind this day.
His focus had been thrown off. Not good. For the remainder of Ozpin's instruction, Kaldyr was busy attempting to piece his composure back together, and so he only caught the explanation in pieces.
"-northern end of the forest, -opposition along the way, -destroy everything in your path, -instructors will not intervene, -abandoned temple, -containing several relics, -choose one, and return."
As the onslaught of broken phrases and thoughts ended, Kaldyr had successfully regained his calm. The others had all taken on a readied stance, and so he would follow suit. The Faunus boy drew Kvöld and Dögun from their places on his back, and looked them over for a brief moment. He'd filled the reservoir with dust mere moments ago, neither weapon was scratched, and the blades were honed to a keen edge. Honed, much like he had done with his own combat style through years of training at Sanctum.
He was ready in every sense of the word.
All that was left was to prove his capabilities to Beacon, and all the teachers there.
He took up a stance with Kvöld and Dögun drawn and ready, preparing to launch off of the hard, stony pad underneath him. Surely enough mere moments later, he could hear the rapid clicking of the launching mechanism underneath him. It quickly occurred to Kaldyr that he would be getting launched first. He took a deep breath and focused as he was catapulted into the air.
The wind surged around the wolf Faunus as he tore through the sky. Stabilizing relatively quickly as he adjusted to his new momentum, Kaldyr began scanning the forest below for someplace to land. Now if I could just find some way to land without shattering on impact, that would be perfect. His eye caught sight of a particularly wide looking tree that he was on course with. "Perfect" he said to himself.
In one quick motion, Kaldyr sheathed Kvöld within Dögun, and transformed the pair into the much larger Miðnætti Hylja. His plan was to use the axe's blade to catch himself on, and carve a way down the tree. "Just a bit closer..." he muttered to himself as he brought the gargantuan weapon into position. He would pass just by the left side of the tree, with any luck his plan would send him down the tree at an almost safe speed. Almost.
As the axe's head made contact with the tree, Kaldyr heard the satisfying sound of his weapon finding purchase in the tree's bark. He'd caught the tree just right, and begun his improvised descent, carving a large, ugly, vertical gash into the tree. Pulling Miðnætti Hylja out of the tree, Kaldyr took a moment to examine his handiwork. "Not the cleanest landing, but it worked." He reverted Miðnætti Hylja back to the twin forms of Kvöld and Dögun, as he listened and looked above. He could see the others fly past one-by-one, some were quite literally screaming their way through the skies. He let out a quiet laugh as he begun his trek northward, weapons in hand.
After roughly five minutes of walking, Kaldyr came to a wide clearing. He stopped for a moment and heard a shifting of leaves behind him. His ears twitched, more movement. This time it was on his right flank, branches creaking and brush being pushed out of the way. He took up a defensive stance and paced closer to the source of the sound. Looking into the undergrowth, his gaze was met by a large serpentine body, covered in a scaly, ebony-coloured hide with piercing red eyes. A King Taijitu was trying to sneak up on him. It had chosen the wrong prey.
Kaldyr quickly slashed the black half of the gigantic snake twice with Kvöld, before retreating back into the clearing. It was clearly in pain and pissed off. Ozpin mentioned that the instructors would be watching them, here was Kaldyr's chance to show off a little! The onyx serpent coiled its massive body in front of the lone student, angrily eyeing the boy standing before it. Kaldyr smirked as he activated his semblance and watched a blue projection of the snake rear back, and then dart towards him with unnerving speed. He pushed a button on the inside of Dögun, and the shield became a whirling blade, ready to wreak havoc upon the Grimm threatening its wielder. As the Taijitu propelled itself towards the Faunus, Kaldyr sidestepped and shoved the whirling Dögun into the side of its gaping maw, effectively sawing through a small part of the creature's mouth. Hah! Chew on that! The beast recoiled and gave the boy enough breathing room to stop his saw-shield, and coat his sword in thunder dust. The snake left it's side exposed as it attempted to coil itself behind its target, so Kaldyr rushed in and rapidly sliced the body of the colossal Grimm, each slash sending lightning coursing through the terrible snake's entire being. The Taijitu had collapsed, much to Kaldyr's surprise. He would take any opening the monster gave him, the boy rushed up to the pitch black head and impaled it with Kvöld to make certain of the beast's demise.
He took a few deep breaths, as he heard the all too familiar sound of shifting brush, and a lunging Taijitu. The Ivory half of the snake had caught Kaldyr by surprise, and was lunging for him. Panicking, Kaldyr tried to sidestep and bash the serpent's head, which half worked. The serpent instead crashed into a large tree, but Kaldyr had still taken a large part of the impact. Sick of wasting his time with the Taijitu, Kaldyr merged Kvöld and Dögun as he walked towards the dazed snake lying on the forest floor. "Not exactly polite of you to sneak up on me. Whatever, this will be fun. For me that is. " He said as he walked towards the stunned Grimm, Miðnætti Hylja in hand. He raised the gargantuan axe and brought it down upon the creature's neck with a satisfying *CRUNCH* The twin snakes turned to ash as Kaldyr pressed onward, to the temple.
It was at the temple when he finally encountered another student, a human boy a few inches taller than him, with black and grey hair, and crimson eyes. He'd introduced himself as Charon Fotiá, and so it seemed that Charon and Kaldyr would be partners for their time at Beacon. The ruined temple had a series of marble pillars cracked and ruined by moss and age, each one housing a chess piece on top. after looking the lot over, the pair decided on the white rook and made back towards Beacon Cliff. To complete their initiation.
"And finally, we have Hansa Agouti, Glas Bonsai, Kaldyr Tolbac, and Charon Fotiá. You four retrieved the White Rook, from now on you will be named Team HGCK, lead by... Hansa Agouti!"
The announcement of Professor Ozpin pulled the Faunus boy out of his reflection on the day's initiation. The events kept playing back in his head, as if he were unconsciously examining his own actions for faults. He was almost bursting with excitement as now he finally was on a team, Team HGCK. The fact that he would not lead a team was disheartening, had he not been fast enough during initiation? Maybe it was for the best, Kaldyr never really was the kind of guy to be social. He'd always leave the idle chatter and conversation to others while he'd be busy studying, training or reading.
The more pressing matter was that of the new team. The screen behind Ozpin only gave a picture to work off of, so Kaldyr knew next to nothing about these people. He looked at each photo with intent, studying and analyzing the faces. He could easily pick his team out in a crowd, learning their names though would be a whole other mountain to climb. It seemed that there was another Faunus on Team HGCK, that was a huge relief to Kaldyr. There had been almost no Faunus aside from him at Sanctum, at least not any that sprang to mind. This would be a nice change of pace. For the next four years he'd be with this new team, hopefully none of them were obnoxious. He could only hope.
Moments later he was lead to a room that would be shared by Team HGCK. The insides of the room were remarkably plain, four beds, a couple of desks, and zero originality. As the team flooded into their criminally bland room and looked around at its disappointing contents, Kaldyr looked over the rest of his team. He was the second tallest of the bunch, shorter than only Charon, who he'd met earlier.
“Well, it's time for team HGCK to unpack!”
The other Faunus on their team, whose name Kaldyr was not certain of, had somewhat decent wordplay skills but a better point. The bags Kaldyr was carrying were heavy, VERY heavy, so he'd set them down at the first chance he got. Once he had dropped the burden he'd been carrying for what felt like ages, he turned back to the team to see the only girl on their team give a terrible salute. "Saluting? I didn't know we were in Atlas all of a sudden..." He remarked jokingly as he sat on the nearest bed. There was quiet for a moment and then suddenly.
"I'M SHARING WITH ALL BOYS!"
Any composure Kaldyr had was shattered at that moment. The stoic mask fell away for a bit as he let out a genuine laugh. There was no need for a stone face, at least he didn't think there was with these guys. They all seemed like decent people, and so far none of them had done anything idiotic. Then again, Kaldyr still didn't know any of these three well enough to call them friends quite yet, but he trusted that would change pretty soon.
" The next four years are going to be an adventure, that much is certain."
Zandrea watched the others from her new bed wiggling against the mattress slightly "well we don't start class until tomorrow, I'm sure there is something we can do to pass the time and start to become a real team."
Zan continued to watch the other 3 her head still hanging over the bed then the idea of redecorating got brought up "that's a great idea, would love to make the room feel more homey...although my idea of home is more outside but I'm flexible"
Sarah smiled at Zan, "Hmm, perhaps some plants might make you fell more like its outside? Perhaps a lot of plants! I'm used to being around plants and animal so if they make you guys uncomfortable I could sleep next to Zan. Or we could move the beds around!" Sarah had an energy around her, she was clearly having trouble not squealing. She went to pick up her bed but after lifting it about a foot of the ground she shook her head and put it back down, "Sorry I almost did it without asking! Do you guys want to move our beds around?" Sarah said with a huge smile before looking at her three teddies They are all so cute! Sarah sat back down on the bed she had tried to pick up.
"Redecorating sounds good, but do we have anything to redecorate with?" Lucas asked. "And before we move things around, I think we should all give our names, where we're from, and something interesting about ourselves, so we can truly get to know eachother."
“Fine, then. I’ll go first.” Bizz said and took a deep breath. “I’m Byzantine Lingo, from Mistral. I...” She paused. ‘How should I say it?’ She thought. Memories of her childhood passed by. How would they take it? “I’ve been longing to come to Beacon all my life.” She finished her introduction, and shook her head to refresh her mood. “Who’s next?”
Sarah was a little to excited to notice Bizz's slightly damp mood "I'll go next!" Sarah boomed as she hopped of her bed then struck a pose "I'm Sarah Corvum! I'm from Vale but I live out in the country! I got three brothers a sister and two parents! I'm 6'6 and besides that I'm pretty uninteresting! Also I love the thrill of combat!" Sarah exclaimed with great enthusiasm. She was happy to have gotten it over quickly, she really didn't think she was interesting at all. She wasn't to happy with that fact but she sort of over acted because she felt she needed to so she could make up for it. She then shook her head slightly "Oh yeah I also got your back! You ever need to talk to someone about anything I'm your girl! I'll help you as best I can!" she wanted to make sure her team new from the very start that she would look out for them. But she wasn't really sure how to make that clear beside just shouting it out loud.
Zandrea gave Sarah and bizz a joyful clap from her laying position and quickly sat up and faced them. "I guess I will be next, my name is zandrea Oakly, I lived with my tribe outside the kingdoms before being chosen to be my tribes huntress in training. I like nature in all ways and when I walk on dirt grass grows in my steps."
She always had little experience dealing with outsiders to her tribe but she was lucky to find a team that harboured no ill to faunus a fear her mother warned her of.
Sarah smiled over at Zan. "So, would plants make you feel more at home then?" She said her grin only widening. She really wanted to make Zan happy in particular because she was the one she currently knew the best. "Because I could hook us up with some plants. Get the family to send them over! They'd be here in a few days." Sarah again sat on her bed but this time she pulled out her scroll. Then shook it a little gesturing that she could call for the plants right now.
