Corporal James Hunt|Randgriz Espionage

The news that there was a sniper stashed away amongst his weapons made the Corporal incredibly happy, but he made no response to the Spook as they drove to the town house. The plan was simple, he would take an overwatch position to keep an eye on the men in the room while the rest of the squad, distraction included, moved into position. Once all hell cut loose, he was to provide the means to remove the men involved, whether lethally or non-lethally, well, that would depend on how his squad was doing. In the long run for the plan though, the sniper made that easier.

Approaching the box after Lilly, James wasted not time finding the sniper rifle, which was on top and in decent condition. He also found two bandoliers of ammo for it and a spotting scope. Picking up the latter after putting on the bandoliers, he handed it to Lilly. "Going to need you to be my second set of eyes. Think you can handle that?"

Lilly nodded, not looking up from the rifle cleaning, and setting the scope he handed her beside her. "Yes... I should be able to do that." She worked the action and, satisfied that the rifle was clean enough to shoot, slung it over her shoulder. "Are we going to work Ms. Reinhard's idea into the plan? Or..."

Eris didn't reply to Dahl's question, she didn't want to give anything else to him. However, she took note of his reaction to her comments about him possibly raising in ranks of this operation was a critical success. Either Dahl was a sincere diehard patriot, which isn't uncommon for Intelligence men, as far as Eris could infer from her experience during officer training, or he was trying to make it seem like he was. Whatever the truth is, it's unlikely that he would truly deny a promotion if it came his way. In case this happened, Eris knew that she could use this to the Squad's advantage.

She made notes of these details in her journal as soon as she was back to the hotel.

The distraction plan ended falling basically on her hands, along with Linda and Ezequiel… potentially. Eris felt an enormous urge of kicking herself for ever suggesting a plan like that but she knew that it was the easiest way to victory. She got a basic picnic basket and some snacks, bread, cheese, wine, etc. from the hotel -adding it to Lord Barst's tab, of course- before taking a shower and dressing in proper clothes for an outdoor trip.

Eris didn't pick any weapon when the Squad was given the change to choose their gear. Even a single pistol would bust her cover and certainly get her killed if their foes found about it. Eris didn't want to look like she was getting cold feet now, so she wouldn't be the one to change the plan she suggested.

When the time came, she was ready and moving into the proximity of the target building. Good thing that the wine she got was good enough to alleviate her worries. "Well, maybe this isn't so bad. After all, what other kind of military job allows you to drink in broad daylight?" Eris thought as she began to set up their 'picnic'.

Ezekiel was displeased with the answer that Cpl. Hunt had given him, but supposed the commanding officer was right about the intelligence division not really wanting to give out unnecessary information. That thought in mind, it was better to see if he couldn't extract what he needed from the spies themselves. Which in turn would mean he'd best ensure he got onto the distraction team.

When it came time for the squad to gear up, Ezekiel simply picked up one of the Vipers that were lying around, deciding he'd best stick to weapon type that he knew. The only other type of gun he ever fired before was a rifle, and the pistol was considerably more effective in tighter spaces. Not to mention that it was almost impossible to conceal a rifle without placing it elsewhere entirely.

Now all he had to do was wait for it to come time for the trap to be sprung...

Christian Dahl

As the rest of the squad got ready and headed out, Christian motioned for Evan to pick up the MG and they began to make they way to a set up location. Before leaving the group, he called out one last reminder. "We'll be watching you from a hill to help if things turn sour. Remeber: Kill the spies if you have to, but DON'T DAMAGE THE DOCUMENTS. We need ever piece of information we can salvage, time is very much against us."

Lilly Jatmoore

Before they headed off, Lilly took a moment to duck behind the truck and change into one of the patchwork, green-brown 'uniforms' that Mr. Dahl had provided them. It was dusty and dirty, and she was definitely going to need another shower once they got back to the hotel to wash the grime off of her. Honestly she wanted to remain in her issued uniform, but if she was to be assisting a sniper, she supposed she should change into something that provided better camouflage. The blue and red colours of her scout armour didn't blend into the terrain at all.

***

Once James reached the hill he chose for them to set up on, Lilly wasted no time in dropping to the ground behind some grass and setting up her spotters scope beside him. She placed her rifle on the ground beside her, in case of an emergency, before scoping out the area. The house was surrounded by hills, except for behind it where there was a forest. They'd have to make sure none of the spies escaped that way. It looked pretty dense and if one escaped into there, they might have trouble following them. From what she could see, the house had two armed guards sitting on the porch in chairs, rifles either in lap or leaning against the wall, coupled with what looked like... maybe one at the rear of the house. She couldn't quite tell from her angle. Eris' group would be able to determine that. Speaking of that, where were that? Shifting her position, she found Eris and her entourage setting up for a 'picnic' on the ridge. It looked like a good position... According to plan, apparently the guards from the house noticed that as well. One of the guards gestured to the other, who shrugged his shoulders, grabbed his rifle and began to approach the picnic group while the other guard watched from the porch. "The guard is moving... Distance, 300 meters.", Lilly murmured to Hunt, before relaying other information about the other guard's position. She had never seen how snipers operated before, but this was how her range instructor had taught her. It had to be close, right? Part of her was extremely nervous. She was just spotting and couldn't do anything to help besides relaying information... but the other part of her trusted James completely. She knew he wouldn't let the squad down.

Back at the picnic, the guard approached them casually with his rifle slung over his shoulder and waved. "Mornin'. Nice day for a picnic, yeah?" The man, who was dressed in civilian attire and even armed with a rifle commonly used by farmers, tried to make a bit of friendly small talk before arriving at the reason for his approach. "Sorry, but I need to ask y'all to move. We're preparing to go hunting and waiting on our sister. It's not safe for you to stay here, and we'd hate for one of you to get hit by a stray bullet. There's a spot just down the road, though, with a nice grove of trees. It's probably a nicer spot to picnic than here anyways."

ERIS REINHARDT

"Thank you for letting us know, mister. Being shot by accident would certainly ruin our day," Eris said in a cordial voice as she eyed the man dressed in rugged clothes, poking her head around to throw a smile at the other guard who waited at the porch. "We were waiting for someone as well, but it seems like my sister isn't going to be able to come. "Sadly, we got a little too much food and drink just for ourselves. Perhaps the two of you gentleman would like to have a bottle as thanks for your troubles. I certainly can't ask you to do something such as eating with us, but a small token of appreciation will be alright, right?"

The guard looked at the food, obviously tempted, before looking back at the house, seeing his comrade there wondering what the holdup was. "Sorry, Miss, but drunk shooting isn't the safest thing. I'm going to have to ask you to leave." The guard stayed polite and courteous for the duration of their conversation, but when it became clear that no moving was going to be happening, he shouldered his rifle and aimed it at Eris. "Fine then, have it your way."

Lilly could only observe this from afar while she spotted for James. "Oh god... He's going to shoot her!" Was her less than calm assessment of the situation.

Corporal James Hunt|Randgriz Espionage

James had been keeping an eye on everything he could, the guard that had been pulled away by Eris, the back door, the room the group was supposed to be meeting in, everything. And he had just put his crosshairs back on the guard talking with Eris when he put his rifle butt to his shoulder. Lily's voice was quiet, but highly concerned."Oh god... He's going to shoot her!" Was her less than calm assessment of the situation.

"I see that." James let out a slow breath and then squeezed the trigger before completely pulling it. Time slowed as the bullet exited the end of the barrel and sailed towards the first man. A sniper knows all his targets before he takes out the first. Before the first guard had even dropped to the ground, his aim shifted to the one still by the front door and he squeezed the trigger again, sending deadly lead towards him as well while he was confused by what had just happened. He knows the order he's going to shoot them in before pulling the trigger. He moved to the back door and, aiming at the corner where it looked like a person was standing, fired again. And he doesn't let any of them leave alive. He then spoke into the radio.

"Cover is blown, move to detain the targets. Eliminate if unable to detain, but they do NOT leave that house."
