@DrakenI don't think the teachers have an actual say in who's the Warleader. It's supposed to be a position that's elected by the members of the Warband itself. So I'm perfectly cool with having Ilya as the former Warleader of his warband. It'd make for an interesting dynamic with whoever ends up being the leader of Phoenix.

As for Leviathan, I do want there to be more members than just you three and Killian. How about, nine? Six are staying behind. I think that sounds fair.

@Lovejoy If Ilya was warleader of Leviathan, I'm even MORE in favor of Galahad being Phoenix's leader, simply because Galahad seems like a better strategist than Ilya and this should be AWESOME. <3 *cackling*

@Lovejoy Inquisitors can stop being Inquisitors?! oooh~

So the highest members of the clerical branch outrank the highest members of the Inquisition. There could still be a Grandmaster, but there also could be a very small number (probably no more than ten, most likely four to sixish?) of top rank members that report directly to whichever person in the clerical branch is officially in charge of all the Inquisitors. It sounds like there's enough High Inquisitors that there does need to be one level with just a few members -- and since Bishop is skill-based and has a special holy purpose, I don't think it fits.

Yes, the clerical branch has more power than the inquisition. I see them as being seen as "The Voice of Varya" while the inquisition is more "The Sword of Varya". Clerics basically *are* the Church, while inquisitors are the Church's military arm.

Okay, how about instead of there being a Grandmaster who is a former high inquisitor we eliminate that rank and have a council of ascended high inquisitors who lead the entire branch instead? This council of four are the only inquisitors besides the Bishop who have some amount of power in the clerical branch, but there's still a lot of overhead they have to deal with when it comes to the High Cardinals and their decision-making. Maybe these can be the Lord Inquisitors? How does that sound?

@vietmyke @deathbringer
And yes, Ragnar would also vote for Galahad. If there's to be a 2nd in Command, hmmm... I'm not sure. How about Astraea?

@Lovejoy Ziotea would never back Astraea. I say Ragnar, simply because the Protector is a specific position, and he needs to be able to keep them all covered. Though I guess that's not as much a thing on the continents or in a fight as it is at sea or when just wandering or camping.

Of course, this brings up the point of what happens if you defy your warleader (but not in combat, nor in a particularly dangerous way)?

Galahand is a good choice to do the strategy bits. He knows to point me at the bad guys.

I mean, especially because the Warbands/The Inquisition itself, while militaristic, are not as rigid as the Secular Army, I imagine how to deal with someone 'defying orders' is determined on a case to case basis. I mean its not as though disputes would be uncommon between a gang of a dozen adolescent-young-adults who have spent the better part of a dozen years together. I mean we already see a lot of them bickering like siblings, because that's essentially what we are now.

I feel like, since the leadership is less "You are the senior officer, so you have control of the squad", 'commanding' the warband would be less like a sergeant commanding his squad, and more like a shotcaller to coordinate and fall back on when things start getting troublesome. (And for the military buffs out there, I'm aware a sergeant is not actually an officer.)

On the topic of who to support for leadership, Galahad would probably support Stina, since it'd be arrogant to vote for himself. It'd be cool seeing the two of them in leadership positions too- a sorta brains and brawn combo.

Well, even though I'm still trying to figure out a better way for Oren's relationship with Ilya, since I misinterpreted and all, I would still think that Oren would put Ilya up for leader.

I just reread what you have written, and it doesn't seem wrong. Plus, I imagine that would be most of the warband: putting up with Father Ilya as leader. He'd be one of perhaps two willing to take the job, and he is reliable.

Astraea would be an awful warband leader she is too emotional and combatative.

Although astraea would probably vote Stina I personally think it would be best for Ragnar to get it. Only because I think it is easiest if the direction of the warband remains primarily in the hands of the gm

@deathbringer that's part of why I suggested second for him.

Also I may have updated Ziotea's sheet because I had stuff I'd never fixed in relationships. yay! And now I just need to draw that stupid shield and her armor and...her emblem...and...ugh. Not happy with the textwalls either, I need to find a way to break 'em up more. *sigh*

@Drakey Kind of cut the tour a bit short, but we'll get into the specifics of the Karamzina's interior at some later point. But yeah, sorry for the delay. I'll try not to go so long in between responses, but it's been a busy time for me lately, so it's been hard. :(

@shylarah @CollectorOfMyst Tomorrow I'll have a response for the Omestris group.

Besides that, I owe @Scout and @Sisyphus/@The Angry Goat a post. I think the Lanostre group is waiting for a post from @deathbringer. But if he would rather I continue, I can do that.

@Draken I was thinking maybe I could have Ragnar meet up with Ilya near the pub if you want in on this action. What do you think?

WAITWAITWAIT. Back it up a sec. Slave generator? Is...is there a person in there? *tries to see* Because Ziotea's pretty cold but I dunno if she could handle a month shut up with an ether slave nearby. I think that might very well be asking a bit much from her.

Then again, maybe that's why the ship was deserted in that one vision. Ziotea just lights the whole thing up in ethereal fire! *cackles*

...yeaaah, probably not.

Regardless, nice post~

@shylarahHa ha. No there's no slave in there. That's just the name I gave to massive engines that require huge amounts of Omestrian ether to operate.

@Lovejoy New Avatar once a week. Same old Lovejoy :p

God, y'all have a LOT of warleader discussion going on. For the 3 in my group - would they assign a leader or vote for one? It's literally such a small warband when split.

@Lovejoy Yesyesyes!

And no, not early. Late. It's almost 11am and I've...not gone to bed yet. Whoops. x.x I guess it's good that a cold is keeping me from going to sing in the concert today. I don't want to get the others sick. *sneezes all over everything*

Do we have an ETA on that thing? Just so I know if I should wait like half an hour or give up, hit hay, and check in again later?
