Name: Momoiro. This is not the name she was born with but she has cast away her human name and taken on this new name with no surname.

Age: Looks 15 and is actually 19

Personality: She is a very driven but impatient girl. She focuses on her strengths and has a habit of ignoring her weaknesses. She speaks quickly and jumps from topic to topic often. If you are speaking for too long or are having trouble remembering the word you were going to use she is the kind of person that will blurt out what she thought you would say.

Having talent and accepting that she is a bit hot headed and tends to challenge people.

Backstory [+]

Unlike most others she remembers her human years and very freshly. She died just a little over 4 years ago. She came from a long line of Onmyōji and other spiritualists. Her name was Yasunori Chizue when she was a human girl. Her family of course no longer works for the emperor but instead runs a shrine and takes on cases of exorcism and other spiritual issues. Many of her family had the spiritual gift to see ghosts and the like but she alone had the ability to sense them with such an acute vision. She saw spirits as well as she saw people. She knew that most of the ancient seals didn't work but she also had never seen an "evil spirit". The yokai or the oni as they were called.

Before all this she lived as a normal-ish high school first year. Her father's side of the family worked with spiritual phenomenon and the occult but her mother came from a family with a Kenjutsu school. The school really died with her grandfather who had only two daughters and no sons. Kenjutsu hasn't been a good way to make a living in more than a hundred years at this point anyway. It didn't stop him from hammering the skills into his daughters and grandchildren however. She is the eldest daughter of his first daughter making her his first grandchild. He cried the most out of all of her family at the news of her death. However she didn't know this till much later.

The style of kenjutsu that her grandfather taught them was based mostly around battojutsu or iaijutsu as it is more commonly termed. The focus was "strike first, strike once". It was fundamentally based on the speed of the blade rather than anything else. She took to it quickly and shown great talent that surpassed her mother by a long shot. Her mother wasn't poor with the sword but simply didn't have the flare to make it as a martial artist. She fell into the office work of a busy Tokyo. But she loved the sword and took part in competitive kendo and Iaido.

This lovely little life she had of ignoring ghosts, swinging the sword, studying for college and just trying to enjoy her years at school was cut short in the spring of her first year just after starting the year.

She saw it immediately and how it looked her directly in the eyes. An oni stood in the courtyard of her home. She ran as quick as she could away from her family and drew it away but she didn't get very far. It tore into her. As her body died she felt her soul being pulled from it and suddenly she was looking down at her own body bleeding out and the hollow chomping down on her soul. However there was something the hollow wasn't expecting. She had far more spiritual power than this low level hollow but wasn't able to use it in her living state. The law of spiritual superiority (as explained by kenpachi to Ichigo in their first fight) the hollow couldn't pierce her spiritual body. Instead she instinctively let out all of her power in an aimless burst while in the hollow's mouth and destroyed it. After the burst her body changed. She had black hair and brown eyes typical of her ethnicity but afterwards she has her current look of pink hair and pink eyes. She doesn't know why it changed.

A shinigami found her standing over her dead body next to the hollow she killed. He took her into the soul society directly to the seireite. She never had to live any amount of time in the rukongai district. Her head was reeling from all of the new information she was given in a short time. Oni and yokai don't exist. Those are hollows. The spiritual arts she learned growing up from her father were more or less superstitious bullshit humans made up. Real spiritual arts exist. Shinigami exist and they serve a purpose. A soul society exists. She is dead. But she is also alive in a way. She has spiritual talent and is to be trained. All of this in just a few hours after her own death and being told she cannot go back to her family.

Not knowing how to deal with anything she became cold for a short time. Aggressive to those around her and bitter about her own death. In the coming years she threw herself into study to become a shinigami. She didn't stop to make friends. She didn't stop to rest. She pushed herself to the limit and got to the advanced class and will be graduating a 6 year course in just 4 years.

Strengths/ Weaknesses: Her biggest strength is plain and simple speed. She is a genius of body movement. She mastered shunpo before she ever mastered any of the kido she was taught. It became as easy as breathing to her by the time she graduates. In fact she creates her own signature technique that is hers and hers alone. She mixes shunpo and battojutsu into one. She will use the same speed boosting effect that happens with her shunpo with her feet into her sword as well causing an incredibly swift shunpo sword swing that happens mid shunpo and finishes before landing. This is a technique she calls "Haru no yuhi". This is what she wants to end every fight with if able.

She has rushed through kido so she is able to use them to at least a basic degree. But none of them are her forte. Zanjutsu is her main tactic. Also her above average reiatsu is another one of her major strengths. Her biggest weakness is that if she misses the first strike she is left open to counter attack.

A non-mechanical weakness she has is her mental state. She still even 4 years later hasn't fully accepted her death. She is emotionally stunted in this part of her past. She can be goaded into action or fits of rage.

Zanpakuto

Name: Yozakura

Notes: She has a constant release Zanpakuto. She has only called it once.

Notes: Her inner world mirrors a nighttime eternal spring version of her human home. It is where she died and it will always be stuck at night during this time because of her inability to move on from her own death.

Shikai Appearance: (see character appearance. She is holding it)

Shikai Ability: Yozakura is a very simple sword. She houses a massive amount of reiatsu into the sword causing it to glow different colors depending on how much energy is in the sword. Its base level is a light to dark pink. When charged up it goes into a more orange color and eventually into red. The energy increases the lethal-ness of the blade. It sharpens the blade and allows it to cut through things easier like a hot knife through butter. It also works as a conduit for her shunpo bursts with the sword giving it a flashing speed.

Techniques:
Aki no Yuhi- As explaied earlier. This isn't a technique that has to be used with her zanpakuto but is rather an innate skill she has developed. It is is using shunpo with her arms during a iai strike.

Sakurafubuki- Its a storm of strikes that is usually used starting with drawing it from the sheath. Its a rapid succession of shunpo strikes that is only possible because of the resonation with the energy of her blade. Its like a sudden blizzard of strikes from different angles.
