I didn't realize how long Naomi's sheet was until now.
Anyway, Naomi's back for the second time around.
"We shall go on to the end. We shall fight in France, we shall fight on the seas and oceans, we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the air, we shall defend our island, whatever the cost may be."
Name
Naomi Grace Robinson
Gender
Female
Age
20 years old
Date of Birth
17 June 1927
Birthplace
York, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland
Appearance
Without the caked dirt and grime, Naomi would likely appear as a stunning beauty capable of sweeping men off their feet.
Standing at a modest one hundred and sixty centimeters and weighing a total of fifty-four kilograms, Naomi attempts to maintain a youthful appearance despite the rigors of a military life. Naomi has irises are a gentle blue reminiscent of the waters of the English Channel, whilst she keeps her blonde hair cut short right before it reaches the shoulders.
As a representative of the British Empire, and by extension, the Special Operations Executive, Naomi continues to adorn military garb respective of her home country. Wearing a white undershirt underneath, Naomi showcases a worn pair of camouflaged fatigues, black combat boots, and a red beret designating her role as a SOE agent.
As a final note, various satchels and pouches–used to store field supplies–are layered over Naomi's person by strap or belt loop. Inside these bags hold any ammunition Naomi had managed to scavenge from fallen German soldiers while on the Eastern Front, and an old broken, bloodstained watch that seems to be stuck forever at 12:07.
Personality
When one thinks of Naomi, they often remember how cold and cunning she can be.
Despite the fall of her country, Naomi is living proof of the old saying: "for King and Country." Naomi continues to hold both the British crown and the United Kingdom in high regard, being afflicted by the jingoism that has taken over the recent era of history. This raw emotion usually clouds Naomi's judgement, who continues to hold an inextinguishable grudge against the Third Reich and its people. From the death of her loved ones to the fall of the United Kingdom, each individual event remains fresh in Naomi's thoughts, promising to "carve up any Kraut" she sees.
At the same time, years worth of skirmishing in Eastern Europe has emotionally drained Naomi from her previous cheerful outlook. Those who are deemed to be "talking bollocks" (i.e. nonsense) or spending pointless time beating around the bush are usually berated, mainly because Naomi would prefer being straight to the point instead of attempting to sweeten up a conversation. Additionally, Naomi tends to keep herself from growing attached to her fellow squad mates, knowing full and well the truth of seeing someone she cares about dying. Naomi's parents are gone, her brothers are gone, and even her Mie is gone.
All that matters to Naomi is killing another German until the British flag is planted well above the Reichstag.
Classification
Specialist - Commonly known as the 'Specialist' throughout the authorities of Squad 914, this infantry unit follows tactics of adaptability, following orders of suppression, shock tactics and breakthrough movement in order to support their fellow comrades. A favored unit throughout the Squad and their particular set of fighting skills, the Specialist provides all the assistance they can.
Equipment
Player Note - Whilst Naomi has more or less integrated into the Soviet military, her equipment still remains predominantly British. However, while she favors the use of British weaponry, Naomi has no qualms with Soviet weaponry and its usage on the battlefield.
During the design of the SHG-48, Soviet Inventor Atyre Ushaeke was inspired mid-testing by the compression of gas assisted support equipment as seen in the handgun given to Aleyev. Whilst in a training incident, the prototype compression canisters exploded, launching one of his assistants across the hall with not too many serious injuries. The design for the SHG-48 was mostly based upon Spanish materials, but the inspiration he was given allowed him to design something completely from scratch and from within his own and incredible mind. Here, the SDJM-48 came into the picture.
The Short-Distance Jump Mechanism, commonly referred to as the SDJM-48, the 'Jump-Pack' or the 'Thrust-Suit,' was designed to launch the user under controlled conditions over a short distance, being a few meters. This was the ideal invention Atyre had in mind for combating fast-paced movement across rooftops in urbanized areas for marksmen.
However, during its design and testing, he realized that the suit itself served great use of dashing between streets, cover and battlefields for short distances, as well as launching the user into the air by a few meters to assist in climbing and scaling unreachable edges, allowing Atyre to think of better uses. And so, through even more testing, through the use of CQC courses, Atyre found the SDJM-48 to be just as, if not more, effective when ran by a infantryman as a marksman would use it.
The SDJM-48 uses larger compression tanks built into the backpack slots, containing two ports for the canisters to sit within, much like how a double-barreled shotgun holds its cartridges, and feeds its compression tanks into mainly the back, leg or arm ejection systems. The backpack itself is not over encumbering, and is more part of the suit, but can be detached. The rest of the invention is mostly dependent on the user itself. An exo-skeletal frame is fitted specifically for the user's body, to prevent the enemy using it against them if captured, which hold nozzles to eject the huge bursts of pressure and force to propel them slightly.
In addition to this, emergency, and far smaller, canisters can be fitted into a compartment on each arm and leg, acting as a single thruster on each limb. Whilst this seems an advantage, these have to be triggered directly via pressing a trigger button on each limb. These problems are yet to be fixed, but it is still a prototype feature to the prototype equipment. As for the main source of compressed force, but hitting a button on the hip, the user can initiate the upward thrust if pressed on the right side.
If the left side is pressed, the force is directed behind the user, helping them move forward towards things like cover and other rooms quicker, most effective when sliding. These are triggered by pistol-triggers retrofitted to the gear to remove any, or the vast majority, of accidental activation. A small timed delay allows the user to brace their body and get into position to move.
Background
"God save the King!"
Being the daughter to a British officer and a seamstress, Naomi had been allotted a bountiful life in the streets of York alongside her two older brothers. Whilst her mother wished Naomi to take over the family's business as a seamstress, she had dreams of being on the stage, regaling the patriotic tales of her father and other servicemen that had served in the Great War. Her siblings–Callum and Lucas–often picked on Naomi for showing such a patriotic attitude, given that the United Kingdom had just fought through a devastating and bloody war, but also because she was a woman, believing that it was a man's duty to be there for their country; not a woman's.
Nevertheless, every time Callum and Lucas would take pleasure in bullying Naomi, their father would take his daughter's side, scolding both of his boys as he took great pride as a father in Naomi's backbone and loyal support for the country he had bled for.
By the late 1930s, the Great Depression was in full swing, but the United Kingdom has greater issues to worry about. The use of appeasement regarding the Third Reich had begun to fail and by the year of 1939, the United Kingdom and its colonies, allied with France, were now at a state of war. Among those drafted were the Robinson boys, while Naomi's father returned to service, leaving only Naomi, then twelve years old, and her mother in York.
Horror ensued from the letters her mother and the people of York had begun to receive from the front lines, but Naomi dedicated herself to keep the public in support of the war by using her gifted voice and patriotic spirit, yet it proved to be an uphill battle. France had fell to the German assault, and the Battle of Britain began soon enough after a disastrous retreat from what was left of the expeditionary forces. The skies above Britain were blotted with various bombers and fighters, like the Heinkel HE 111 and the Spitfire Mk I, promptly dishing out their hatred and anger for each other in numerous aerial dogfights and bombing raids.
For Britain, this was deemed a dark time, but for the Robinson family, it was to be even darker. Naomi's father had been reported missing in action, and Lucas was confirmed killed in action in the fields of France. Despite the popular opinion of the British public continuing to supporting the war against the Third Reich, it also continued to take more souls from the Robinsons, following with Callum being shot down by the Germans over the London skies. Even then, barely a week after Callum's death, her mother would be killed by a bomb that had exploded on the family business whilst Naomi was away at a sleepover.
Left alone in the world and with an infuriated passion to hold the Germans responsible for the loss of her family, Naomi was forced to wander the streets of York as a newly minted orphan. However, the Special Operations Executive were soon informed of a young girl with a fiery spirit in York, and quickly set out to bring Naomi into their fold.
Despite Naomi being under the age for active service, the SOE ignored the rules in her favor and for confidential reasons to implement her as one of their operatives. Trained on how to use both native and captured equipment and taught various survival skills, Naomi would later learn that she had a knack for easily picking up foreign languages, and could understand them with little effort. This ability and her age soon landed Naomi a place in Operation Lovejoy, using her youth to fool the Germans and to act as a universal translator for the agents as they delivered top secret documents and blueprints to the Soviets.
While this mission was considered a success, it would result in the execution of a British prisoner of war. Nevertheless, the agents continued to progress with their orders, and left for what was once Poland to aid the resistance that was fighting German regulars that had occupied their homeland since the start of the war.
Joining forces with the Armia Krajowa, otherwise known as the Polish Home Army in English, the agents attempted to contact the United Kingdom to confirm the mission's success, but no answer would ever come. Multiple attempts to contact the home isles were tried, but neither the agents or resistance fighters could radio in, unknowingly aware that the United Kingdom had capitulated under a massive invasion by Axis forces.
Believing that the Germans were blocking communications, the agents chose to follow orders as planned, and began to sortie against German installations and troops, where Naomi was given her first taste of battle as a soldier. Whilst Naomi followed the training she was given back in England through and through, she was known to be more ruthless against the Germans–even if they surrendered–in a nature akin to the various Polish resistance movements, as anger swelled in her veins against the soldiers that had killed her family. Naomi was ferocious, wishing the Germans to feel the same suffering she had felt all those years ago as a young girl.
However, not long after rallying with the Armia Krajowa, Naomi would begin to take an interest in a young resistance fighter by the name of Mieszko Michalek, who was only a few winters older than her. Despite the depressing state of the world, Mieszko–affectionately named Mie by Naomi–would always bring laughter to the agent, and some of the older veterans would often joke that the two were lovebirds. Whilst neither of the youths would admit that they were in love, the two of them would spend the time they were allowed to relax together by the fire or any other place suitable to be alone with one another, leading to plenty of rumors circulating around them.
However, in war, anything can change, and began to do so by 1946, not long after the Germans introduced the first walking tank.
The development of the walking tank was a military wonder, devastating and incredible at the same time. A hellish experience would ensue for the resistance fighters and the agents, who were pushed further back towards the Soviet border. During one of these instances against such a beast, Mieszko was heavily injured, bleeding to death in Naomi's arms. Her perception of reality shattered as she held his bloody corpse, and Naomi was refused the chance to say her goodbyes as the Germans forced a retreat.
Taking his broken watch in a hurry, Naomi, along with the remaining agents and resistance fighters, were forced to flee the battlefield with those were still alive, hiding within the shattered villages and towns of old Poland. The group attempted to continue their mission, but sorties and sabotage soon became unheard of as the Germans began to whittle away who remained, until Naomi was left alone once more in the world, this time without comrades.
Thankfully, a stroke of luck had finally appeared for Naomi, who was certain her death was coming soon. A squad of VDV soldiers had landed nearby, tasked with clearing out a small village guarded by the Germans. Clearing house to house, the Soviets met Naomi in a dramatic stand off as the door was kicked in and guns were pointed. After a few words in broken English, and then fluent Russian, the parties eventually realized that they were allied soldiers to one another. Choosing to fight alongside the Russian soldiers, Naomi would help the Soviets finish the cleanup in the village.
Once the Germans were dealt with, the Soviet officer in charge offered Naomi a ride back to their base, appreciative of the agent's help regarding their mission. Knowing it would be the better option than starving to death in the cold Russian winter, Naomi accepted the officer's offer and joined up with the Soviet forces, whom were leading the charge against the Third Reich on the Eastern Front.
Still, despite being battle hardened and fueled with a vengeance against the Germans, Naomi was just another nameless soldier of a country-in-exile. There were plenty foreign soldiers within the Soviet Union, and it was likely Naomi would be thrown in the meat grinder just as well under some unknown Soviet General's command. However, unknown to Naomi, she was a target of interest of the Russian inventor known as Atyre Ushaeke, who was working on experimental weapons to be used against the Germans. Due to Naomi's assistance in delivering sensitive documents to the Soviets in the past, Ushaeke used his influence to bring her into his fold.
Assisting Ushaeke in developing his inventions, it was seen that Naomi was extremely compatible with the SDJM-48. Offered the chance to field test it in battle, Naomi accepted, and was placed into Squad 914, a group of people armed with similar experimental weapons and gear, upon Ushaeke's word.
After all, Naomi still had Germans to kill, and she wasn't about to let her days end in a Soviet labatory.

Name:
Van Thanh Pham (Or Thanh Pham)
Age:
22
Gender:
Male
Birthdate/Location:
04.20.1926/Thai Binh
Appearance:
A young man standing only 165 cm (5'5) and weighs 63 kg (138 lbs), he is a paragon of the size of a normal East Asian man. But comparing to his comrades coming from other great continents, he may appear a little small. His hair is naturally short and neat, black all around. His eyes glimmered the color that matched perfectly everything he had been through: brown mixed with the reds of bloods. His uniform is not entirely military standard, as he was indeed poorly armed from the day of enlistment, but were not too derived of the norm. He sported a pale greenish Khaki uniform, black belt and an equipment holder hanging around his back, battle-worned from all the years. The only two unique pieces of clothing that stood out were the pith helmet, covered with camo cloth, and a pair of rubber sandals made completely of car tires. Yes. Sandals, hand-made from car tires. Conditions were too tought back then. He has grown attached to those sandals that even now, with the access to better combat shoes, he would simply reply 'this is fine enough, leave it to those who needs it.'
Personality:
If one could describe him in three words, it would be simple, peaceful but brave. Thanh is, and will always be, a man of the countryside. He lived his entire childhood in the tranquil rural area of the country, being one with nature and avoiding all the hard and ugly parts of the nation. Consequently, he is a man really appreciative of the simple aspects of life, lives peacefully and rarely getting into conflicts with one another. He can be quite clueless at things, due to his lack of education.
On the battlefield, however, he is as swift as a raging river, as fierce as a great typhoon. He stares fear in the face without a blink as he rushed his enemies, even without proper equipment. Rumors of him charging down enemy tanks with nothing using a handgun and grenades did not go unconfirmed. If there should be fear, it is within the enemy. Thanh is quick-witted and is usually employed in tasks that require the utmost resolution and daring. And it went hand-in-hand with the battle charisma he had. You wouldn't miss the sight of a man, wearing a worn khaki uniform, wearing rubber sandals facing a large enemy tank. If a man with that ancient of gears is capable of such things, why couldn't the others? That train of thoughts would gradually earn respects from other comrades.
He can be reckless at times, but in general, he understands the consequences of mindless acts, especially with the conditions he is in. You only live once, so you should not waste it all in one second of thoughtlessness. Still, his patriotic nature means he is the one to despise cowards, who refused to put forward their lives for the country.

The lunge mine
The same name as the Japanese made ‘lunge mine’, it’s basically a high explosive anti tank warhead shaped like a cone and is placed on one end of a 1.5 meters long pole. The mechanic of the weapon is simple. The bottom of the cone is attached with a super-magnet that can hold the weight of the mine so that it sticks onto metal structure. If the target is a concrete wall, then the user will have to manually add glue to the funnel like structure so that it stays on the intended location for at least a few seconds. The three sticks protruding out acts as fuses, when pushed inwards due to impact, the mine’s gunpowder will be triggered, and will explode. It is used like a spear, with the user has to grip it tightly, each hand placed on the 1/3 and 2/3 position of the pole respectively, although when attacking it can be changed depending on the preferences of the user. When attacking, the user will have to ram it into the target in a 90-degree angle for maximum potential of exploding. And after plunging it into the target, the user has around 3 seconds to remove the pole from the mine, which is done by rotating it a bit and pulling it out, and run to a safe location. The extracted pole can then be attached to another mine so that he can continue attacking. The user can choose not to use the pole and instead hold the mine directly, however, this is highly unrecommended.
When triggered, the mine will take 3 seconds to explode. The heat and pressure of the explosion will be extreme, due to the large amount of explosion being squeezed into the small shell being let out at once, and the mine can penetrate to about 160mm of armor, which is a good number at the time. The movements of the user will have to be decisive, and he has to make sure that he has a clear path and good cover to both attack and retreat. In general, the one using this mine has to be brave, quick-willed, because one mistake can lead to deadly consequences. The user can die from the intense pressure being placed on him or the heat of the bomb. Even if he manages to run, he may still suffer wounds, so a cover is highly recommended. Another important thing to be noticed is that to use the mine, the user will have to get very close to the target. As a result, he will need heavy fire support, and he will have to pick his timing carefully, otherwise he would be gunned down when he either attack or retreat
The mine, improved from the Japanese equivalent to make it survivable, is considered very effective against almost every walls, normal vehicles, light and medium tanks, armored car, some poorly armored heavy tanks, and most walking tanks due to the mine being triggered at point-blank range, but is prone to suffer from the heavy armor of most heavy tanks, super-heavy tanks and heavily armored walking tanks. Basically, an armor beyond the penetrative capability of 160mm will negate the effect of the mine. When faced against tanks, the user will have to choose the area with least armor, notably the rear or side if possible. In general, it can be very effective, but extremely risky, and is highly dependent on the skill and bravery of the user. Because of it, not many Soviet officers and generals held it in high regards, despite its performance.
Background:
A natural born Vietnamese, Thanh came from a very traditional rural family under the French occupation. And obviously, since he is not of noble bloodline, he received little education. He attended the rurals schools and did not attend high school in favor of taking heed of his family's farmland. But under the influence of the Soviets, he received significant amount of knowledge in Russian. His grandfather was a member of the resistances against the French occupation in Vietnam, and stories of his bravery and contribution to the resistances (which unfortunately failed) inspired this young rural boy to become fearless in the face of danger.
It could've ended with him inheriting the farmland from his family, then all three of them making just enough to enjoy their lives with nature. But no. As the threat of immenent Japanese invasion creeping at the country's doorsteps, general mobilization was issued. Both the father and son were drafted into the military in early late-1944. And then, the faithful operation was initiated. That day when hundreds and thousands of young Vietnamese being slaughtered in no man's land. Thanh was spared due inexperience and young age, in which he was placed in the defence parameter of Hanoi. His father, however, was not. And by just hearing the casualty rate of the tragic operation was already enough to let him know that he need not wait for his body to return. And then, inevitably, the Japanese retaliated, intiating a full-scale invasion of his homeland at three important chokepoints: Hanoi, Saigon and Hue. The signal was called: A nation-wide patriotic war against the tyranny of the fascists.
With the military might of the Japanese, they claimed that they would take Hanoi within a single day. But they were proven really wrong, as when they set their foot on the suburb of Hanoi, they were met with extremely fierce resistance among the defenders. The soldiers, both French and Vietnamese, entrenched themselves in the city. Roads were dug up, forming trenches, walls and blockades that hindered the Japanese movements. The fightings were on the streets, in the courtyards of buildings and even inside a building, in fierce melee combat.
This was his first taste of combat. He was stationed at the Ministry of Interior, along with only a few dozen men, holding out against hundreds, maybe thousands, of Japanese. The job ranged from a shootout to an indoor melee fights. Brutality was ensured, but he miraculously survived with minor wounds. The building stood still for over a month, until the retreat order was issued. For over 60 days, the defenders held out in the city, three times longer than other chokepoints, allowing the safe evacuation of the citizens, and then the retreat order was given. Most citizens joined the resistance and became guerilla fighters against the Japanese. The soldiers who fought alongside the French in the Battle of Hanoi, however, was held in much higher regards. They were recommended to the Soviets higher ranks by a man, one of the three survivors of the disastrous operation at Nanning, and, as the Russians were a little desperate in manpower, so they recruited these men and women who once fought in the streets of Hanoi.
Due to his previous education in Russian, he did not too much difficulties communicating and fitting in. He was transferred to Russia to aid in the defence against the Germans. He was highly regarded as brave, and several times charged German tanks under heavy fire with only a handful of grenades and molotovs, suffering some terrible wounds in some battles. On one cold, misty morning of February in 1946, he received orders to be transferred to defend Kursk from the unstoppable German mechanized forces. There, the tale of a reckless yet brave Asian who again and again charged the German tanks had, for some times, inspired the men there to continue fighting, and although his attack wasn't really effective, the rumors were big enough to the point that one German tank battalion commander to order the tanks to go in reverse once they heard battle cries and waves of infantry charge into their position. He was finally put down after attacking a German Tiger II, which was somewhat reowned among the Russian military for a while after that. The attack was pretty disastrous, as not only was he not able to destroy the tank, but he also got shot in the right leg by another tank's machine gun. He survived and was transported away from the battlefield, but the shot had put him out of action for an entire year, leaving behind a not so pretty projectile inside his bloody thigh, and a scar that he would have to carry with for the rest of his life.
In March 1947, after a year lull in the fighting to treat the wounded leg suffered from the previous charge, Thanh was called back into service once his leg had healed. This time, he was placed directly in Moscow, to defend against the tsunami of German panzers. And there, he still proved himself a force to be reckoned with. Not that he was deadly himself, but the squad he was in. They fought with more ferocity than all, taking certain key points, burning down buildings to hinder German advances. But one squad couldn't made a significance in a city many times larger than themselves. Knowing that the city was doomed to fall under German hands, some of the pragmatic Russian officials decided to secretly pull out some of the veteran units fighting in the city, including Thanh's squad. The squad was transferred away into Siberia and continued to resist German occupation.
At the time, the Russian government officials were searching for someone to work with their equipment, a high explosive anti armor and structure mine that unfortunately has a very short trigger delay. Because of the short delay, there are chances that the user will sustain heavy wounds or even death if it is not operated correctly, so those in the reserve groups were hesitant to receive such a weapon. Before the Russian military had to force the weapon into one of the unfortunate, one of the officer in the squad, who fought in Hanoi in 1945, introduced a young man who had had records and commendations for his bravery on the battlefield. That man was Thanh, and the Russians decided to draft him in Squad 914, a mysterious experimental squadron formed by the Russian military. He boarded the first train out of Siberia back to South East Asia for the squad.
