Hey, so;
I'm making my character, a Zerg Overseer named Korthux. Problem is, I don't know what I would put for "Crew", since Korthux is a living entity who controls otherwise mindless drones; Changelings, for example. Help?
Another thing is I feel what I have is too short, compared to other sheets, however I can't think of anything to add. What should I do?

@RandomCerebrate Well the zerg overseer sounds like a character you can use as a crew. There's no real minimum to how many crew members you need to have. As long as you can make it work with the in-ship interaction with just one crew, you should be good.
Even if it's too short you can still post it here for now and edit it as you go. That way we can also offer feedback on what you could expand on if it's indeed too short.

Next major post will be today, those who haven't posted and wish to do so, now's your last chance.

@Burning Kitty As note for your latest post, please keep in mind that you are not free to decide what a NPC not of your creation does or does not. That's going into powergaming territory and even though we don't have a fancy ruleset like other RPs have, I believe some things should be common sense.
You can leave the current post as, but please keep what I said in mind for your future posts.

@NanoFreakV2 Just wanted to ask how the GM was doing... was going to post after she would, but she hasn't been online for 4 days.

Do you have any info on her whereabouts?

If you want, I can make a quick post regarding your previous post.

You need to keep up with the OOC, I got permission from the GM.

@Queen Raidne should I have the Tok'ra Agent complete what is necessary to get him aboard the Creed in my post or wait for you to post?

If I need to wait I'll have to change my plans.

It depends - what did you have in mind for the agent?

<Snipped quote by Queen Raidne>

If the agent says something about Earth, Captain Frye will insist on that thinking it is the way home. Man want she be disappointed.
If the agent doesn't say anything about Earth, then wherever he/she wants to go.

Either way Frye is going to want answers.

@Burning Kitty Ah you're right, sorry about that. Forgot about it mainly cause she dealt with Anubis and Tok'ra in general.

@Lmpkio You don't have to. I was just saying that the plot will advance today, so if you want to add something to the current situation do so now.

Now indeed, I haven't heard from her or did not receive a heads up in regards to her being away. Still, I do have a rough overview of plot plans, for the time being I'll go ahead and continue what she had planned until she's back.

@NanoFreakV2 I wonder if contacting a pre-warp Earth from another universe counts as a Prime Directive violation.

Captain Frye is racking up violations left and right. She’ll be lucky if they don’t bust her back down to Ensign if she survives/doesn’t go insane.

@Flamelord Stuff is hitting the fan alright. xD

@Burning Kitty Well I reckon this is more of a grey area Captain Frye is treading. On one hand earth is indeed pre-warp, but currently Fyre is only dealing with Stargate Command whose ships are warp-speed capable via Hyperspace, although they're currently using a Goa'uld hyperdrive as opposed to one of their own design. It is a rather interesting situation if you think about it, yeah.

Also to be fair Earth has already met and been invaded by aliens already, so I'm pretty sure in this case the Prime Directive is dead in the water to begin with

Warp wise how fast are Stargate Command’s ships?

I'd like to apologize for my absence; my anxiety and depression flared up recently in a bad way.

I plan on dipping my feet back in eventually/soonish, in the meantime, I'll leave you in @NanoFreakV2's hands.

@Queen Raidne No worries, I'll keep the show running for when you decide to return.

@Burning Kitty Well the current Prometheus has a modified Al'kesh hyperdrive and old Goa'uld hyperdrives aren't particularly fast. It could take a few months to years to cross the galaxy. There are however faster ones used later in a show. The quickest a Stargate Command ship has ever been was 4 days for an intergalactic voyage. From the milky way to the pegasus to be specific. I believe the Asgard can top that with just a few hours between galaxies.

Four days with a ZPM giving it a boost, yeah. Normally the Daedalus class takes a couple weeks to get from Atlantis to Earth, or something like that

Assuming the real life Pegasus Dwarf Irregular Galaxy is the same one as in Stargate it is 3.001 million light years away from Earth. Based on stargate.wikia.com/wiki/Pegasus they sound the same just going on the dwarf description and distance.

The Prometheus Class tops out at a Warp factor of 9.975. That can cover a distance of 132 light years in 1 month, 40 light years in five days, 70,000 light years in 70 years. (Source: memory-alpha.wikia.com/wiki/Warp_fact…)
The math:
132 light years / 1 month (30 days) = 4.4 light years per day
40 light years / 5 days = 8 light years per day
70,000 light years / 70 years (25,550 days) = 2.739726027 light years per day
Since that gives such wildly different values I will take an average of 5.046575342 light years per day.

3.001 million light years at 5.046575342 light years per day = 15144772.6 days or 41,492.52768 years.

BC-304 class ships without a ZPM can travel from Earth to Atlantis in 18 days days. (Source: stargate.wikia.com/wiki/BC-304#Hyperd…)

So Star Trek ships are fucking slow compared to Stargate ships. That doesn't seem right at all. The Prometheus of the Prometheus Class ships was launched in the 2373.

The Daedalus of BC-304s was launched in 2005.

Fucking Star Trek their engines suck.

@Burning Kitty
One of the old Goa'uld hyperdrives could have ships going at 32000 times the speed of light. So if my calculation isn't wrong (though its entirely possible it is, I suck at math), an old Goa'uld ship could travel 1 lightyear in around 16 minutes. And that's like the slowest ship in the stargate universe, from that point on, they only get faster.

Indeed these are completely different universes, different circumstances, differences are to be expected. Still, in order for the RP to be... well... not shite, all speeds from the different universes will be roughly equalized. If it weren't, well it would have taken the Creed quite a bit longer to reach earth.

Or... OR... It could be interesting seeing the player ships try to make in-universe drives work with their ships. Like trying to salvage them from the Goa'uld. That could make things interesting too.
Though your really quick warp to earth would still have to be explained somehow...

Out of universe explanation: I didn't know how shitty slow Warp Drive is. Or the battle is closer to Earth than originally thought.

Or preferably

It's OK lol EVE ships are only about 2 ly per day

Unless I get to use my jump drive which is about 12 in a few minutes... but since I need a beacon to jump to its kinda useless unless someone with a better drive helps.

If I'm interpreting the campaign properly, a fleet of ships in Homeworld can cross half the galaxy in... I dunno, I wanna say around half a week. But worry not, probably just-as-slow(or fast) ones! Far Jump capable ships are able to bring others with 'em!

I'd revise that list myself. Star Wars vessels in the Stargate Universe would have NO supraluminal capabilities at all. Without extensive amounts of data to calculate hyperspace routes they're going nowhere.

The fastest consistent drive system of all belongs to Battlestar Galactica which is basically teleportation with no known limit. The only problem they have is their ability to aim. They have no supraluminal sensors so if they look through a telescope at their destination they're effectively looking at a place forty years ago. Then they have to predict, based on orbital patterns and stellar drift, where the planet they're hoping to jump to actually is.
