Thomas Richard Harrison

Location: Tower, Floor 2.8? It's starting to give.
Interacting with: The Champions? Keystone.

One keystone removes another. Without the Necromancer, the magic of the tower faded, sinking faster than the tower into oblivion as the structure began to reveal its true self. The illusion of stability was taken under as the foundations crumbled, the skeleton of the tower baring its bones with every precocious step. The unsteady ground upon which they all thread, a deathtrap waiting to break with one ill-fated footing. Aloft the tower of the mage, placed so high upon this point there was little to do but fall down, or else, ascend higher in the hopes that the tower will sink floor by floor rather than topple over completely. Curse these idiots and their rash vengeance! Did they not understand what secrets could have been gleaned? What greater powers the now-dead man could have shared? All it would take was the proper discourse and Thomas would have acquired even greater knowledge than he had within the company of these imbeciles! Arcana that would propel him past the earthly bounds and into the very stars, all dashed away with the blatant tossing of a bear.

"You Fools! We could have studied all the samples from our victory had we subdued our magical adversary rather than reduce him to a coat of entrails and a bisected corpse!" Yes, the haughtiness of the star-phased sorcerer, the unbearable version of Thomas returns, although perhaps the rest of the team would likely enjoy throwing a bear at the current incarnation of Thomas to see how he fares. Disappointingly, Satilla had done her role to restore Thomas enjoy enough with her potion to have the boy find his inner self ready to ridicule all lesser beings than it. This cosmic roulette of Sun, Moon, and Star ever so volatile. Perhaps he had explained it? Or maybe he failed to mention the nature of his mystic nature and they found him suddenly being quite the arse-baring-arse that suddenly seemed to overtake the boyish persona that they knew a few moments ago. Nothing an hour of deep meditation could not resolve, but obviously the tower wouldn't last the long, and Thomas would rather dissect each corpse to study and harvest materials than to spend it returning to that lesser phase of moronic sun or bashful moon. Alas to learn the three phases and the three faces of Thomas, perhaps another time as for now they had to deal with the rebuking tongue spoken from one chipped incisor.

"Fly you Fools! These lesser summons should not survive the implosion of this structure!" And yet however high and mighty the star-phase student fancied himself, perhaps in his hurry to leave the collapsing moment of their heroic efforts, Thomas forgot the basic principles described in the paragraphs above. Taking his bottomless strides with the airs of an educated academic, the sorcerer was certain barely hanging by a thread of which the discarded potion still held in hand after having bashed his tooth. He would need to speak to their careless healer regarding the manner of her administration. The first few feet were fine in scholarly stroll taking his best to appear to defy the instability of the floor beneath him, but Thomas wasn't quite at his best as just a few paces from the stairwell, Thomas buckled to his knees.

Could such a fall from heaven humble the brightest star?

Keystone

Location: Deymin's Tower (3F) -> (2F)

Apparently, when you crush a Necromancer under the weight of a bear, it causes a sudden and irrevocable collapse of whatever building you're in. Good safety tip. Now, Keystone could ponder the accuracy of that last thought at a later point. Weigh the facts, as it were, but now was not the time. As it was presently, the whole damned tower was about to collapse upon them. Keystone could take a LOT of physical punishment. Lots. As best as he could figure though, a tower falling on his head was probably more than he could handle, at least at his current level of body conditioning. Running was by far the best option. Plus, it seemed that a couple of his number had the same idea. Time to go.

Though not the master sprinter, Keystone would not be denied the chance to save his own skin when it was obviously the best recourse. He could not help anyone if he was dead, and his great strength would not be of any help to the others. Fleetness of foot would, and it was a gift he could not just give to others. With this in mind, Keystone, Pugilist and Disciple of Shou Arts, Bodyguard, Pit Fighter, and Thrower of Bears put one foot in front of the other in rapid succession, blowing past Nor on the stairs (somehow shaking off that troublesome Troglodyte Zombie in the process), and winding up on the second floor landing before he was fully aware of his surroundings.

Alright, remember the tower is coming down. This means there is debris starting to fall from above, there is a lot of noise, the floor and walls are shaking, etc. Keep this in mind. Would your character really have the state of mind to speak anything or are they just running at this point. Are they panicking? Running for their life? Yeah, they better, lol.

Keystone

Location: Deymin's Tower (2F and descending)
Interacting With: TZ, with hopeful finality

Let's be honest, today was not exactly a banner day for Keystone. Let us remove from consideration the enemies that had fallen before the onslaught of his mighty, ham-sized fists, adorned in as they were with some of the finest worked metal of the Dwarves descended of the old Delzoun Clan. Let us also remove the opportunities he had (or was thrust into yet again) to remove more undead abominations from the face of the world. Now the bit about the bear... okay, that was noteworthy. Something to go in his memoirs the moment that he had a bit of quiet time. There may be a technique in it somewhere; Keystone had heard about fighting monks with the ability to throw great weight beyond what their strength should allow, and in a combat setting. Perhaps there was something to it that he was just beginning to tap into.

But he couldn't think about that now. At the immediate, Keystone had unwittingly dropped off the Troglodyte Zombie in the middle of the frigging stairwell, basically cutting off the egress of the rest of his group and trapping them in a sliding and tumbling deathtrap of worked, decrepit stone. Not a banner day.

There was the barest stroke of luck (kind of) as the beastie bounced from the stairwell wall, down to the floor, turned end-over-end and flopped with the diametric opposite of grace upon Keystone's back. The impact stressed the injury to his ribs from earlier and threatened to drive the air from his lungs. Good news: The undead bastich was no longer in the way of the retreating group. Bad news: Keystone was being used as a beast of burden for a snapping, snarling monster. Hopefully, that issue could be resolved in the next possible second.

Keystone had his chance as he stepped down to the second floor. He couldn't quite shake the thing off with his first, unwieldly attempt, but soon enough everything came together. Keystone planted a solid boot down upon questionable stone and reached both of his hands behind him. Strong, stone-like fingers found purchase on leathery, reptilian skin and would not compromise their grasp. The broad Pugilist pulled the creature up and over his head, giving it a split second of regard. Far be it for him to waste good momentum in a fight, Keystone carried the motion forward, hurling the troglodyte zombie away from himself. It tumbled and rolled through the air, hissing what he could only imagine were decidedly not words of encouragement before disappearing through a bare hole in the exterior wall.

If any gods were smiling upon their little adventure, the thing would be destroyed by the fall. Being as Keystone wasn't particularly fond of any of the gods of which he was aware, he prepared himself to have to finish the monster off when he got out downstairs. But for now: Run.

Cyne

Location: Tower 3F
Interacting with:N/A

Well it seemed like everyone was starting to make their way out of the tower in some fashion or another (aside from Sana, but she didn't have the time or means to help her), so she needed to start getting out herself. As much as being in the spirit of cohesive teamwork it would to start running for the exit, she wasn't very sure if she'd be able to make it out before the floor collapsed or something. Where she was now, she was closer to the wall than the stairs.

Luckily for her, she still had 2/3 of her wildshape uses for that day, so she wasn't nearly as limited ad her companions as far as mobility options went. There were plenty of holes to choose from in the tower walls, but to stay on the safe side, her brain immediately jumped to something small, maneuverable and surprisingly powerful: the European Swallow. The bird frantically flapped its wings to take to the air as quickly as it could, aiming straight for a hole roughly the size of a coconut. As the swallow flew, the ceiling decided that now was the time to strike, lobbing an entire ceiling brick at her from above. However she was able to pitch out of the way and dart through to safety, outside of the blasted Necromancer's tower. Cyne could only hope her friends would be able to make it out safely as well.

Sana
Location: The Tower - 3rd Floor

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Sana grunted slightly as the snake bit into her and inflicted its poison. It was a familiar feeling, this hadn't been the first time she had been poisoned, hell it wasn't the first time today. And frankly it was getting old. Her dagger wasn't doing the damage needed and she couldn't fire her bow with the thing wrapped around her the way it was. She had to take a chance. She had one more weapon available to her, Kyras sword. She had forgotten about it but she had picked it up before she rushed to the third floor.

And right then she was glad she had. Dropping her dagger she grabbed for the sword and took a stab in the dark as it were. Grabbing the snake as best she could, she didn't worry about getting bit this time. It had already poisoned her. It was a gamble that paid off as she hacked at the thing. Once, twice, and it was split into. It was still wriggling somewhat, left over muscle spasms but it was dead.

Now, she could move, hopefully she would have enough time to get out of the tower. She'd have to make a choice. Jump for it and pray she stuck the landing or run down the stairs and pray she beat the tower falling in on her.

Woah, we're half way there,
Woah, livin' on a prayer!

Indeed at this point the situation was practically a Bon Jovi song. There was little time for Thomas to collect samples, not with how fast the structure was imploding beneath their feet. Even a scholar as academic as Star-phase Thomas understood the need for self-preservation in such a dire situation. Research and knowledge was useless to the dead, and as such the boy brushed himself off as he rose back from his long fall. The brute before him had leaps and bounds ahead of him having taken whatever foe with him into the sole passage out of this death trap. And perhaps true to her job, the healer that stupid sun and moon phase personalities enjoyed the company of had yet to move into the stairwell. Perhaps Satilla was intent on tending to Sana, who by the looks of things had just dispatched a snake which would have made a beautiful specimen to stuff had she not butchered it by hacking it to death. The wriggling coils with the last of its life just slipping away as the corpse writhed, although its killer was left with a biting kiss. The shapeshifter took Thomas's sagely advice wisely it seems and took wing, good that was one less body to get around in this mad dash of escape the room. Although Thomas would not mind solving an escape room to prove his intellectual superiority, this was not the sort of timed trial the sorcerer desired to partake in.

Fortunately this was the phase for Thomas to be in for feats of fleet fleeing. The untethered nature of the stars made his body lighter, floatier in a sense that gravitational forces seem to be dulled around his person. The ease of rising from the wall, as gracefully as it would appear to the fluid motions of the mage abandoning his other personality's secret or perhaps not so secret crush to descend the stairway after the armored dwarf. There was no dashing chivalry to the frigid star-struck spawn, for if the dwarf had not the armor and heft of most of his kin, surely Thomas would have barged the lesser being aside. However given Thomas' weakened state, he was in no health to quarrel with Nor who was ahead of him, and only managed half-way down the flight of stairs before requiring those ahead to advance.

Everything was going to hell fast. Just as they dealt with the hooded figure, she believed she'd get to heal the people in timely fashion and so they can escape from this tower, but the powers that be seemed to have different intention for them all. Apparently all the fighting caused the old tower to lose the last of it's stability! They were going to get crushed under tons of rocks! Of all ways she believed she might die this was not one of the expected outcomes. Everyone started to leg it and by the time she came to her senses only she, Thomas and Sana were around. Thomas didn't seem to try helping, the boy was in one of his mood jumps presumably, she didn't hold it against him, but she had to try. Thus she dashed towards Sana.

"Sana, come on, we've got to go!" She tried to help the woman up, but for whatever reason Sana was resisting and she just didn't have the physical strenght to pull her along. No one ca blame her that she didn't try though. She god damned tried! She was about to try another time, but decided that since Sana was resisting she was probably going to follow them any moment now and started moving again by herself towards the staircase and she quite well managed to reach it! A thought ran through her head. 'Is that monster still on the base floor?'

The worst part about being on the third floor of a collapsing tower was that it didn't leave you a lot of time to thing or be cautious, but he had to act as such on these stairs, or else he could easily end up making a bad step, tripping and getting caved in on. To make things worse, this was a shoddily made tower for humans with their long legs, and the stairs reflected that. Each step he had to lower halfway into a squat in order for his leg to reach the next step. And the shape of the tower didn't help either.

Humans took too much construction direction from the elves: because a lot of their constructions tries to emulate trees, there ended up no way to effectively climb it without going in circles. If they had chosen a more sensible natural feature to base their fortresses on, well one, it wouldn't be collapsing in on them. But the stairs would have been a straight shot to each floor rather than this spiraling nonsense. He still wouldn't be able to make the steps easily, but at the very least he could make a big leap for the bottom and tumble down to the foot even if he ended up short.

Speaking of feet, Nor spotted Keystone conveniently in the way on the second floor. Now the polite thing to do would slow down and let him lead the way down to the first floor, but fuck that. Right now it was every man for himself, normal social conventions be damned. Making himself as thin as possible (any difference in width was nearly imperceptible, especially as armored as the dwarf was) and slipped through/pushed through the gap between the cook and the wall, in the process shoving him to the side quite rudely. A few more steps down and Nor recognized that he was almost at the bottom and he could be free of this stairway hell. Something in the very back of his head told him that he was overlooking something. Something that had to do with the events before heading up to the top floor, but it had not the time to recall what exactly.

Alright, the deadies and badies from the third floor have been dealt with - now to try to save your own asses. First person to reach the 1st floor fully, pm me for what you see. Outside the place looks much worse than it did when you all first arrived. And now there is a dead body on the ground outside thanks to Keystone. The place is collapsing and quickly. People from the village are starting to walk from their spots in town towards the tower a bit, gawking at it.

Keystone

Location: Deymin's Tower (2F and descending)
Interacting With: His Flagging Sense Of Balance

It wasn't an everyday occurrence for Keystone to get outran by a heavily armored Dwarf. The burly fighter wasn't known for being a spectacular sprinting man, but the longer legs that his height provided generally gave him the advantage over the vertically challenged races. Maybe it was because they were running through uneven stonework. He had grown up in a community that also housed Dwarves, at least a high percentage more than the average Human settlement. Keystone knew that the gruff, bearded race had a connection with the earth and stone, be it worked or natural. Maybe that very connection was in play here, that allowed Nor to blow past him like he was standing still. But he had always felt a connection of sorts, as well. Maybe not on par with Dwarfkind, but he did sometimes feel more comfortable in certain stony surroundings. His blood was that of a common man, likely insulating him from the draw and power of the element of Earth in ways that he could not overcome without magical or divine assistance. Or maybe some other factor was working its factoriness on the situation in ways that he, as merely a stalwart beater of wholesale ass, simply could not comprehend.

Be it his place to understand, the fact lay as it was that Nor was able to overtake and pass him down the winding, shivering stair, while he had to struggle to maintain balance in that moment. He had considered placing a hand against the wall to assist in this, but the now fragile nature of the ruined tower made him question the wisdom of such a decision. Falling was not the best option either, to his thinking. A man his size hitting unstable stonework was not the best way to spend his time, and in fact could be the last chunk of time he would spend, period. Keystone was ahead of everyone else, meaning that if he stumbled here, it would hold up everyone else and cost them precious seconds necessary to escape. So the only option left: Regain his balance and try to hoof it yet again.

Step One.

With the end in sight and something approaching hope in his heart, Nor managed to adjust himself to the rough situation, being able to move with the tower's crumbling and maintain pace. Finding his sea legs so to speak. Or his stone legs. But his short, stout legs were able to swiftly carry him down to the first floor, where he had stable footing and would probably be able to make his way out of the tower unmolested, barring some unlucky brick falling on his head or something. But even then, as tough and heavily armored as he was he had a decent chance of even something like that not being enough to keep him from getting out of this blasted tower.

At the bottom he remembered what he had overlooked earlier. Kyra's death and her wee dire wolf. Now in some other situation, he probably would have helped the beastie move his master's dead body and all that sort of ritual. He might have only known her for a few hours, but they had fought along side each other, and you respected your battle brothers and sisters when they passed. But the tower was going to completely collapse within the next who knows how long. He wouldn't get in Ash's way, but while he was stuck in this doomed tower, bad luck, poochie.

Sana
Location: The Tower - 3rd Floor -> Grounds outside of the tower.
Interacting With: Sat
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Sana eyed Satilla and stood her ground. She wasn't about to try to join the crowd making its way down the stairs. Sana was fast when it came to running, at least compared to most. So she wasn't worried about getting down the stairs and her balance was good, so the falling tower she felt she could deal with. The thing that she didn't like when it came to getting out right then was having everyone else in front of her as she tried. It was a clusterfuck on the stairs just waiting to happen. That and frankly Sana didn't want to see the dead body of her childhood friend laying out on the ground when she reached the first floor.

Instead she opted to pull the same stunt the druid had. Granted Sana couldn't turn into a bird and just fly away but she figured she had a better chance than most to stick the landing. So she shrugged a bit towards Sat and made a mad dash for a section of the wall that was closest to her with an opening. Right out the third floor makeshift window, aka the hole in the wall. Three, two, one... And jump!

Turning her body she managed to get through the wall, her elbow catching on the side but she pummeled through it. She pulled what others might describe more eloquently but to her it was just flippy spiny shit. Out the tower she went. As she flipped over she nearly lost her point of landing for a minute before she got her feet back under her. A tuck, a roll, and a rough landing which sent her sliding back on one knee, fucking super hero landings were tough on the knees but she stuck it. Looking up at the tower it was coming down fast.

"MOVE YOUR ASSES!!!!" she yelled at the tower. She doubted anyone would be able to hear her but she had to yell it nonetheless.

Well, she'd successfully made it out of the tower, but that didn't mean her work was done. At the very least she needed to see who else were able to make it out of the tower. As much as she wanted to help anyone not able to get out, she didn't really have that ability. Even if they stumbled and fell right on the opposite side of the room, the amount of time it would take her her to see this, make her way all the way over there, try to help and then get all the way back out would probably be too much and only serve to get herself killed as well.

The swallow dove down, arcing its trajectory to end up at the front of the castle, somewhere just outside the entrance. If she were like some of the less patient druids that she knew, she'd try to shift back while still in the middle of the air and try to stick the landing in their "human" shape. But she'd stay in her small bird shape until she really needed to revert. Which would be soon. The cold was getting to her already, with how little mass the shape carried. But for the time being, having eyes on the side of her head proved to have its benefits. As it landed, she was already in position to see inside the tower to see a few people had already almost made their way out. Hopefully the rest would follow soon after.

Satilla Valen

Location: The Tower, Floor 3 staircase.
Interacting With: Ancient cosmic powers of the load bearing boss cliche and Thomas.

Satilla struggled to make her movement under the termbling of the tower. She felt like it was getting stronger faster than they can escape. Frankly this as far as she knew counted only about her and Thomas because they were hte only ones up here.. and Sana, but she could swear she saw Sana get the hell off the tower from the wall or something because she was not behind her right now. Well Thomas and her it was. She took some steps down, but the shacking made her unable to get past Thomas who's pantless self was currently blocking the way.

Then she nearly fell, but caught herself before she fell on her ass. The whole tower coming down on you nonsense was so messing with her balance. She leaned on teh wall and looked around in haste, but frankly it was a spiral staircase, there wasn't much to see here." Thomas, we have to go faster, otherwise we will get burried in here!" She screamed, hoping the shout will get the younger man to move himself faster or something.

She then vaguely wondered if she shouldn't try to go for the window approach instead once they get to the second floor. There was bound to be a window she can leap out from right? After all the second floor was closer to the ground than the third and she wasn't exactly a thumbling specialist or anything. Yeah that was a plan after all, she had decided it was what she was going to do. Satilla highly doubted the tower will hold until they reach the exit and escape. Heck she feared it might not even hold until they reach the second floor.

Thomas Richard Harrison

Location: Tower, Floor 2.5 to Ground Floor Stairwell
Interacting with: Satilla, Keystone

And as we wind on down the road
Our shadows taller than our souls
There walks a lady we all know
Who shines white light and wants to show
How everything still turns to gold!

And now on to Led Zeppelin. As it appeared the healer had either failed her missive to take care of Sana's injuries, left the other woman for dead, or considered her beyond saving. Either way, social dynamics were not the forte of Star-phase Thomas, who thought himself had every right to traverse the narrow pass at his own pace as the world came literally and literally crumbling down around him. Although certainly it was not by choice that he only made it half-way down the floor, running for his life was beneath such a distant academic, but alas he had not yet recharged the star energies within him to whisk him away into the safety of the stars. To blink out of this damned tower and away to the safety of his brethren, the dark stars which whisper to him words of tempting power. Request for their lost brother to shed his mortal vessel and rejoin their cabal in the depths of space, to rid himself of these parasitic worms. Did the foolish girl not see that this stairwell permitted only one being to pass? And it was not his intent to be blockaded by the dwarf who had rushed on ahead with those stubby legs, nor would he expect that flatus-filled-food-fighter to be an obstacle he could not shove past. " Obviously!" Said in the most sardonic matter-of-fact ways snooty high-brow arrogance could. Satilla was just another fool in the calculating eyes of Star-Phase Thomas. Of which Sun-Phase may have to amend later on, even if the woodland witch did ruin the boy's grin.

Perhaps it was the pestering annoyance of her ignorance, or rather the lighter nature of the boy's current form, but after Satilla had made her remarks and bade the sorcerer to move on, Thomas found himself quite capable of blitzing through the stairs despite their unsteady nature. It was as if he was floating, each step barely touched by his feet as he hauled his next-to-bare-naked ass down not just one flight of stairs but twice-fold. Yes, it was almost like flying, rather than falling with style, but the star-attuned mage breezed through the steps as if the tower wasn't quite about to fall atop them at any time. The boy had nearly crashed into Keystone as he turned the corner, if it were not for the gap just enough for the lithe Thomas to squeeze through and bypass the pugilist's beefy balancing body. Keystone himself may have felt the boy's form brush along his side during his attempts to regain his footing by bracing himself against a wall. Without as much as a pardon or excuse me, Thomas slid past the leaning man at the final step and managed to escape the true enemy of every scholastic wizard: Stairs.

There was a wolf dragging a body along in a pathetic attempt to drag the dead Kyra out from a falling tower. The dog was perhaps figuratively screwing the pooch at this point, it was not like they could not retrieve its deceased owner from the ruins of the tower later. It was not like a rotting ton of brick could kill what was already quite dead. And Thomas had no time to study the contents of the necromancer's library to resurrect her...

You like to move it move it, you like to move it yeah. You like to move it move it - MOVE IT! Cyn and Sana are outside of the tower now, that means the other four of you need to get your asses on the move. Tower is holding for now and surprisingly well. (The tower nearly nat 20'ed it. lol) But even with it holding as well as it is, rubble is still falling and stone from the ceiling above falls and crushes Ash near the door as he is trying to drag out Kyra. The stone slab basically flattens the poor wolf along with his already dead Alpha. The only good from the situation is that the door isn't blocked.

Interacting With: Feet On The Floor

Step One has been achieved as he righted himself. His feet gathered underneath him in the manner of a man who really, really wanted to not be there anymore, forming an alliance with his arms as they reached out to his sides to maintain his balance. The laat thing he needed was to delay his egress from the ruined tower. It was time to go.

Powerful legs flung h8m down the staircase, his steps wide and utilitarian. He quickly came upon young Thomas, still descending the stairs afywr having blown past him just a second or two ago. Well, turnabout being what it was, Keystone flattened along the wall as he darted past, reaching the ground floor. The sight of his fallen teammate and her now much more compact wolf gave him yhe slightest twinge of shock, though not enough to override his instinct to exit as quickly as possible.

The tower was trying to come down with a vengeance upon them! Satilla mentally prayed to all the good spirits for them all to get away from this place safely. Some of them had already legged it out the tower's third floor. She had suspected that it was only natural for Cyneburg to use the powers of druidism to get to safety. What the witch didn't expect was Sana the bard jump out the tower from up high. Hopefully she was alive, otherwise that would be bad on itself.

Still Satilla this time around was making a real good progress with the whole RUNNIGN AWAY thing. She could feel the tower being stressed, the falling chuncks that were making scary noise as they hit hte ground, but she gosh darn well ran. She ran fast and true, passing the second floor and moving halfway down the first floor's staircase. She was nearly at the exit! Well nearly was kind of pushing it, but all the optimism and happy thoughts were probably going to help... well if they didn't help with the tower situation, they at least helped with her own personal mind screaming for her to panic.'Happy thoughts... happy THOUGHTS!' She repeated in her head.

It had been a hell of a day and the tower rattled, Sana had to jump back and out of the way of falling debris. It wasn't looking like the tower was going to hold much longer. Moving cautiously she headed over to get a direct line of sight into the first floor. She didn't have to move far. Not only was the front door open but more stone had fallen away and there were two or three open spots in the walls between braces where one could see in.

Sana wished she hadn't been able to see in because she got to witness her already dead childhood friend as well as the dyrewolf get flattened like a pancake under a slab of stone. She felt her jaw locking with tension as she ground her teeth to keep from screaming out. There would be no retrieving the body now. No returning it to her father. If the tower fell it would take a month to dig out any remains. If it didn't, it would be too dangerous to move anything.

She felt her fist balling up. She had to get her ind off what she had just witnessed, there were still others in the tower. She was out, Cyn was out. At least she figured it was Cyn. Taking a breath she yelled. "Hurry the fuck up!!!"
