A sword with amethyst stones on the hilt, shaded to look like shifting glass spans the length of her back. The handle follows the line of her shoulder blades and the tip hits the bottom of her lower back. Written on the blade are the words

(I am become blade); her right ear has seven ear piercings, left has three; she has a scar on the inside of her right thigh and a scar on her right forearm, running the length of her forearm. Multiple lashes on her back but the sword covers the majority of them. Other cuts and permanent bruises from her many fights/missions.
Personal Style: Amarantha can be mostly found in dark green leather. She loves the colour green and what it does to her eyes and the way it makes her hair stand out. The leather is surprisingly breathable even though it hugs her form completely. It helps her sneak through most places in the night and catches the attention of most people during the day. She has been seen in formal dresses but prefers a pant and shirt combination or her leathers. The weather doesn’t seem to change her clothing desires. She can been seen in her signature leather in plus 30 weather or below freezing with her hair naturally curled and in a high ponytail. She wears a small amount of khol under her eyes to make the brilliant blue pop even more. They say the eyes are the windows to the soul, be careful with how long you stare. You might not like what you see.

Personality: In one word; vixin. Amarantha’s origin story may be like every other Young Army recruit but her personality is all her own. She gives no quarter and will be smiling while she takes everything from you. Her ruthless side is one not to be crossed and she acts like she has no remorse for what she is doing. Her witty and flirtatious side seems to balance out the constant desire to bend people to her will and doing everything that Gwydion Puck asks of her.
She has a passion for life and living it to the fullest extent possible; even if that means bending the rules. Things are limited for people of the Young Army but with her need to get out and do things, a rebellious streak was found in her. In general, being bit of an outlaw helps her with the more difficult tasks she takes on but in relation to her passionate life it opens up to a softer side. In a rainstorm she’ll take off for hours, hiding in it, watching the rain fall from the sky and cause little ripples through the life it interrupts. She’ll slip into the markets and taste foods from all around her little world, maybe even steal some too. When she returns and gets in trouble and most often beaten for her efforts, it hardens her a little more and she becomes that much more fiercer in battle; and a bit stealthier.

Your Path: Amarantha isn’t sure where she would be today. She was taken at three years old and only knows the path of the Young Army. Even at the young age, Amarantha was determined to survive. To become the Deputy Hunter was a goal for all of the children and Amarantha was going to claim that title for herself. She proved herself over her many years and the coveted title finally became hers. She takes her role seriously and isn’t easily deterred from her path.
General History: Amarantha is the child of a poor seamstress and carpenter living in the Port of the Castle. Her father left as soon as her mother announced her pregnancy and was raised solely by her mother for three short years. At three years old, Amarantha was taken by the Young Army and became known as 526. It wasn’t all horrible. For some it was a honor to have their children taken. For Amarantha’s mother, it was a blessing. They were barely getting by as it was and she was unsure her daughter would make it through another winter.
526 grew strong with regular meals and was training at the age of five for simple work but the training was gruley on someone so young; however, her ambition was noted early on and she excelled quickly. The younger children all leaned on each other for survival but once they reached double digits a different mentality seemed to take over the children. They were now fighting for food and for that coveted position that would hold them above all others. Despite all the fighting, on the training field and within their barracks, 526 developed a strong friendship. 513 was the only person who knew a different side of 526, a calmer and softer side. One who dreamed for a life full of life and colour. During one of their training exercises, he was killed. This pain burned bright inside 526 and she went after those responsible. She wasn’t capable of killing then, she still lacked the strength but she tore them down from the inside out. The mind is the most fragile thing, even above the heart. If you break the mind, you break the heart and then taking someone down after that, easy. This was the beginning of her reckless streak. She earned the cut on her leg from that fight and the one on her arm was earned by disobeying orders.
As she reached maturity, she filled out and became useful in more ways. 526 was used to lure people in and often got to torture them herself or was subjected to watch. Death became a constant in 526’s life and she didn’t even bat an eye anymore when those close to her began to die from the increased training and dangerous missions. They often went after rival witch groups and most didn’t come back. With this new found freedom of her looks and skills came more rebellion. She pushed herself to discover new things and these often lead to breakthroughs in missions but also lashings by Gwydon Puck for going behind their backs and doing her own thing. One day all of 526’s disobedience, having to gain trust again and hard work paid off and she was promoted to Deputy Hunter, a coveted position that the children used to stay up late at night and talk about. They would share all their stories about the Deputy Hunters they knew. Upon on her position change they gave her the option of keeping the number or her true name; Amarantha. She latched onto her name but tattoed the number on the back of her neck. That number was still a part of her but this name made her feared, respected and sought after. People knew her now and they would come after her, making it far easier to track people down. Her story is just beginning and with a new Queen comes new opportunities.
Thoughts on Queen Meliscente: Ding dong the wicked witch is dead! Good riddance! She refused the Young Army and Amarantha could have potentially lost her life because of it. She’s gone and Gwydion Puck is determined to bring the Young Army back to their full glory, they just have to get past the Crown Princess and they will be well on their way. Amarantha has no doubt that a witch is behind it and will gladly congratulate them herself if the opportunity presents itself but there’s this whole need to kill thing that may hinder that. Puck has his own plan after all and the Deputy Hunter must follow.
