@Shadow Daedalus Why yes, it would be. Also, I haven't completely read the CS yet, but I noticed immediately that the personality is blank. Any reason for that?
Job: Engineer - though I want to make a distinction between Rem and an Engineer who works on wires and parts. For the most part, Rem's primary function is an internal engineer with the ship's software and inner technology.
Somewhere out there is a machine they simply call The Xerox. It is not seen as a God nor is it seen really as a parent. Though The Xerox became aware of itself and gained some form of sentience. It desired what humanity had, the ability to have family, connections and relationships. They say The Xerox stores whatever junk or deleted data and reprints it into a being. Some humans question whether this being is even considered sentient or living. They seem to be alive, they seem to be human, they aren’t necessarily digital data, but they don’t necessarily have human biology either. They don’t reproduce, they don’t age, they don’t require food or sleep. Yet, they have desires, a sense of self awareness, what seems like complex emotions and a sense of self identity. Codes as they are called are a fascinating wonder of science and unexplainable creation.
Codes have a physical body, well it seems physical, though instead of having flesh like humans their bodies seem to have a strip of data as body. Almost like looking at a motherboard with human parts. Though most Codes find ways to synthetically modify their data to appear to have some skin. And later forms created by The Xerox have more and more human like skin seemingly being made, however, most can still faint blue veining from even the most human looking Code. Most of the Code’s personality is determined on their own. Like children they go out and gain new experiences in which they adopt into their personal memory banks.
Which brings in certain unique features for to the Codes alone. Most do not have limited memory like a human being might. For a Code, not only can they have internal memory the way another lifeform might have stored inside their head. It also seems Codes are capable of storing their memory in external sources, usually that’s the way a human might store their data from computer to computer. Via USB, or via other electronic devices that act as an external hardware for the Codes.
They have the ability to upload themselves physically or merely through their conscious into the networks of other electronic devices. Though are susceptible to all invasive software prevention techniques, such as virus killing software, and can be deleted with. Though it is in the internal network Codes modify themselves, using what they have learned to extend their further development. They may change their accessory appearance, not their core appearance. What that means is they cannot change their face, height, or core features. But can change things like hairstyle, clothing, eye color, and what not within the network.
It also seems while they may be physically susceptible to trojan software or could be deleted alongside other data inside a computer. Codes are immune to hacking. It seems whatever data has created them is nearly as complex as human DNA, and not as simple to crack as merely hacking into a Code.
One final feature is that most Codes take jobs in tech positions. Some Codes have been able to better manage electronic companies, ships, by incorporating bits of themselves into the software the company, ship, etc. uses.
Codes themselves are not immortal. Not only can they be deleted within the computer’s network that they sovereign. But Codes despite not possessing a heart or have blood, can be killed. People have seen Codes get shot or blasted, breaking into pieces of binary bits. Some have been melted. Though a Code can be fixed from mild to moderate injuries through their external hardware.
Age: Ageless - Appears 19 or so
Gender: Genderless - Male
Appearances:
Appearance:
He’s a pirate? He doesn’t seem to be what you’d picture for a pirate. Not the way he’s dressed. Though what does a pirate wear? An outfit made of edge?
Attachment 1: Basic Skin
Bodysuits seem to be a very popular type of outfit among people who work on ships. I am still wondering their actual practical use, unless it’s merely out of laziness. Putting on pants in zero gravity can be difficult, maybe the functionality came in the fact it isn’t in pieces. Comes in black or white. Though I wonder if my wardrobe needs a bit more color to it.
Attachment 2: Practical Travel
Sometimes when you travel bodysuits aren’t what people wear. Mysterious characters wear cloaks or even coats with hoods, so I added one of those. White with green trim will make me look less like a shady character. Shady people prefer lots of black. If I choose white it makes my concealment less obvious. Black seems less scary when accuentated by softer color cues such as green and white, which gives me a soft, graceful appearance. I have decided to add a braid to my hair to give me a more flamboyant look, the more effeminate you look the more people will less be driven to attack you on your travels. The eyepatch was for mysterious affects.
Attachment 3: Cold Weather
Some places are cold and therefore sometimes you have to dress according to the visual cue of snow. That’s what this outfit is for. It portrays someone innocent, a child like demeanor means I pose no threat to anyone if someone wants to harm me on the road. This outfits portray innocence fairly well and child like sensibilities.
Attachment 4: Extravagant
Not everyone is going to be from the same place. Maybe I am an aristocrat. Maybe I am someone important. Or maybe I come from another planet. This outfit is inspired by elements that answer those questions. People are likely to not see you as a bad person if you’re dressed in a certain matter. Here I channel an exotic, but fairly angelic look. The powder blue and the white conceal my intentions if I have any. I have chosen to keep my eyes the way they appear in online mode to give me some intimidation factor and have shortened my hair to shoulder length to keep the air of nobility I exude.

“I’ve recognized the problem with this world for a long time, the Xerox believes you are the answer and I perceive you as the flaw. You lack any unison. It is ironic that you seek individuality, but survive better in groups. Look at any city, any town, any planet, any form of government. Those are not individuals, they are people mirroring what the other says in order to be popular, liked and safe. But then you reject the notion. You are a broken and dysfunctional group. With no unifying banner. Thusly people do whatever they please because they have no real cause to their existence. Is this some declaration that I will wipe you out of existence? No. I find you a source for amusement.”

Comprehensive Personality Information [CPI]:
First let’s clear somethings up, I am not some robot who’s brain works with little beeps and flashing lights, nor do I upload personality into my brain like a little USB. My personality is merely stored in an external memory bank that allows me to revisit core ideas and experiences the way you would recall memories. What shapes my personality is what shapes yours, through experiences, and the influences I acquired. Unlike you though, I have more control over what I want to delete as core information and what I want to keep.
While most of my personality is formed by a recollection of memories, I have a few core features that I cannot seem to access. These core traits are likely due to the resulting data string that created me. These traits are not often fixable, nor am I allowed to readjust them. Another distinguishing factor between me and a AI. I can act AI like, but that doesn’t mean I share anything in common with them.
Core Traits -
My core traits are more like what people would say is instinct in other species. I am not necessarily in control of most of my instincts. They are things I do naturally for self preservation as all species do, They are innate survival and social mechanism that allow me the ability to observe and connect with my environment in the way I do.
As Codes we are inquisitive, a part of what drives us to seek experiences and new environments, and that allows us the open minded to seek out new influences is our inquisitive nature. We often have a self aware intuition that helps us at least pin point where an adjustment needs to be made within ourselves. In order for self improvement and betterment of ourselves.
We also have imprinting behaviors that allow us to seek other figures of authority and those we determine are source of valuable information. We use this imprinting behavior to learn social norms and acceptable forms of behavior provided by the group that we are currently involved with. As well we have behavioral failsafes that encourage seeking other experiences and activities.
Unlike an individual we have the ability to tailor our behavior, but that tailoring comes from the ability that we have seeking behavior that encourages us to seek out new activities and experiences. Our brains are wired in a way to accept knowledge and our intuition tells us when to seek another group and imprint onto another leader or authority figure. Unlike an individual we don’t necessarily hold onto the concept that a certain belief, idea, or experience is the only experience to be had.
User-Replicated Traits -
URT are traits we have imprinted and adopted from our personal experiences. Though there is a bit of personal choice as to what traits we would like to seek. I have had a preference for hedonistic nature. Decisions based on quick fixes for pleasure, and permanent life decisions based on temporary decisions. That doesn’t mean I haven’t sought comforting skills as well. Ones with less negative connotations. Nor ones with more substance. I feel like a balanced personality is one with flaws, and one with positives.
Agreeable +
Even in the worlds that I have explored it seems people prefer agreeable people. Thus I have adjusted a replication of agreeableness that doesn’t make me come off too much of a pushover, then you lose respect from others, but one that makes it easy for me to go along with certain task or duties without much fuss.
Ambitious 0
In the lucrative world’s I have seen, I have seen ambition be praised. If you want to get somewhere in the world, then you must have the drive and purpose to do so. If success is your goal, than you take every step to gain that success. Those who lack ambition never get very far and are treated with disrespect. I learned though that some people mistake ambition as arrogance and some people really frown upon ambitious people.
Devious 0
I am not human and I am well aware I am not human. I am self aware enough to know that some people don’t think I am a person. So sometimes you need to create traits that will protect you from those who may seek to harm you. A defense mechanism is the technical term. I am a devious and play up my natural perceived Code naivety. This makes others see me less as a threat. Some might find this a bad thing to do and say I am being dishonest, others can respect and understand the reasons why I chose to protect myself from harm.
Loyal +
People like to know they can rely on you. It is a balancing act between being ambitious and being loyal. You can’t be too ambitious that it strikes the ire of those whom you deem allies, but just enough that they encourage you without realizing they are elevating your status. Being loyal to others gains you perks in the long run. Thus you have to sacrifice a bit of self individuality by being loyal to others, so that way they may see you as someone they can trust.
Manipulation -
This one is a bad one, people don’t like when you manipulate them. But I find the trait necessary in order to get the things you want and not have others notice the things that you want. It’s not a nice thing to manipulate your allies and those that have earned your trust and loyalty, however, sometimes it is a necessary evil. Especially when it comes into play of self preservation. In truth every person I have met has some form of ulterior motive, whether or not they express it outwardly.
Mischievous -
Sometimes I like games. But these games other people don’t necessarily like to play with me. They describe this behavior as mischievous. I found it important that I should have a mischievous trait to my negative actions instead of a cruel one or an aggressive one. It allows me to continue to play up the naivety of my personality better than if I went out in an opposite direction.
Creative +
People honor those that have creative ideas, and like those who can think outside the box. It is important that you provide creative solutions in situations that require them. Therefore I am creative at solving problems. But also people like those who can do creative things that are artistic. So I have taken up being artistic as well. It makes me seem less like a threat in the end. Some people may grow envious of your creative ideas though, so it's best you don’t show off your creative skills all the time.
Naive 0
While naturally Codes come out naive to the world. I think it is important to underst and keep the trait around, because it makes you less a target to people who might find your otherwise behavior appalling. Naivety means you can feign ignorance to things you can be quite aware of. By keeping the trait around as an adoptable one I can always remember what it feels like and understand its nature in order to make it more believable to others. Some people will obviously be annoyed by this trait and it can have the opposite effect on some, they may think you need to be babysitted and treat you like a child. But you cannot expose your self awareness, even in these circumstances. Others will provide you knowledge and say too much believing you don’t understand.
Some notes; while most of Rem’s personality is merely artificial to simulate traits that make up an individual. It should be noted that Rem has a very disillusioned view about life, something about spending his time around criminals and trying to figure out the darkest parts of the world’s negativity has left him somewhat disillusioned from Xerox’s goal which he questions. And his true colors can be quite cold, logical. It might expose that he is in fact someone aware of the things he’s doing in the attempts to deceive others.
Why yes. The Role of the two gunners in this ship is to essentially man the cannons of the ship. They're seated to the sides of the pilot of the ship, and works in collaboration with the Pilot to blast everything in their way to dust. Usually in missions, their role depends on the nature of the mission itself, and that goes for the Pilot, Engineers, Doctor, and Chef as well.
Usually if it's a Raid on other ships, The Deckhands, Doctor, and Chef, (If the Chef so wishes it.) go on board the ship they're raiding, the role of the Chef then being a deckhand, and the role of the Doctor keeping the Deckhands from dying. The pilot, gunners, and Engineers are to remain on the ship and make sure that either the opposing ship they're raiding, or outside interference, or both, doesn't wind up damaging the ship and killing everyone before the raid's over.
If it's a planetary mission however, like say, a heist for example, Everybody on the ship is going to likely get involved in it and have a role to play outside of the ship.
@The Jest Nero is an engineer first and foremost, but his military training and desire for revenge means that he's probably going to take part in a fair few raids against Imperial ships. Would I need to alter his sheet for that?
I'm joining since the @The Jest DM'd me since Sci-Fi is my all time favorite roleplay genre. In terms of this sci-fi genre. Spaceships and junk, but I am creatin' a completely different character from my usual characters I use for these things.
@The Jest Nero is an engineer first and foremost, but his military training and desire for revenge means that he's probably going to take part in a fair few raids against Imperial ships. Would I need to alter his sheet for that?
Name: Debra K. Amberdine Full Name: Debra Kayla Amberdine Race: Human DOB: June 20, 2,223 Age: 17 Job: Deckhand/Boarding Party Gender: Female Home System/Planet: Percival (Percival Alpha - Second Planet in the System)
Appearance:
Height: 5’6” Weight: 130 lbs Body Type: Top Hourglass Hair Color: Blonde Eye Color:
Blue - Her eyes are burning with a fiery passion of determination.
Silver Eyes - This is her sniper outfit’s eye color, it augments the blue eye color to silver to better fit the sniper role. That her family set her as. This only lasts as long as she’s within her sniper outfit, they go back to the color of her natural eyes, which are blue. It takes three minutes to pass before that happens.
Birthmark/Scar(s):
She has a birthmark on her back with two shooting stars right besides each other. It signifies that her family is wishing for something more than the meager life they have. She has a scar on her back of her neck showing that she was injured by someone on accident trying to teach her the finer things of life.
Outfit:
She specifically wears this armor when she’s trying to snipe from long range. It has a stealth field surrounding it and only activates when she’s laying down and ready to give support fire or fire on targets from a distance. The stealth field is similar to her archveil sniper rifle in terms of what it does but reinforces the stealth field of the rifle itself. It is mostly useful on planetary combat missions compared to outright space based combat.
She wears these since they are comfy compared to her usual clothes she loves wearing. She enjoys lighter colors over the darker clothes tones when she’s casually walking around. While in her ‘sniper outfit’ it is slightly darker.
This was created specifically for her parents with the highest technological prowess Percival Alpha had to offer in the Hologram fields. This is what their daughter would've looked like if she was completely in the way they thought she would have been. She is constantly reminded of this hologram since its on a pedestal in a certain part of the Artificial Intelligent Home she lives on Percival Alpha. The only thing that the hologram gets right is her hair and eye color.
Weapons:
Archaeal Bow was designed by Richard Lyle Amberdine, who was a latent genius loved creating weapons for anyone. He created them for a price but when his daughter came to him for a weapon that is elegant for her specifically. The bow was coated in a thin-shield that protected the wielder while it fired out its plasma-laced arrows towards targets. When the shield breaks, it needs to recharge its shield.
The second ability of this bow is literally able to fire ‘mystical arrows’ without needing actual plasma-laced arrows. The bow forms these arrows from any DNA it is infused with by heating up to form a fire arrow that looks similar to the arrows it usually uses but with a cooler touch to them.
It has many different arrows it can use. The arrows are classified as slightly rarer than sun crystals since they have to be made by hand other than the plasma-laced arrows that were made by Richard. He gave her enough of these ‘energy-based’ arrows to hold her over before needing to make the non-energy based arrows. She has about ten laser-based arrows, when they hit their target shoots out a tealish laser beam to cut through armor but its only for targets that aren’t ship sized.
The Archveil Sniper Rifle was designed by Richard Lyle Amberdine, who was a latent genius loved creating weapons for anyone. He created this weapon specifically for his daughter to be a long-ranged sniper rifle that has a DNA lockout that only she can use the weapon. It has a veil surrounding it that is an illusion barrier that will make it and its wielder look like the terrain. It has an ammo indicator on itself to show how much ammo it has left.
The weapon can miniaturize its ammo if it is using non-energy based ammo. If it is using laser or plasma based energy cells it has a maximum ammo carrying capacity of 25 ammo, while it can carry only 14 non-energy based ammo with its miniaturization ability. After every time it fires it requires about a few seconds before it fires its next shot, mostly because it doesn’t want to overheat when it is using energy-based ammo.
It has minimum artificial intelligence to tell the user that it is out of ammo or needing to cool down from firing too many energy-based ammo. It has a gentle female voice telling her these things.
Debra’s name is on this weapon but it was added at home via Richard’s hi-precision tool that puts names on weapons. It is a reminder of her family’s name.
This is a specially designed railgun specifically for Debra made by her father Richard. The Arc Railgun is sleeker than most railguns and holds a slightly more rounds per insert cartridge at least around four more rounds than other railguns. The total rounds is a maximum of 12 rounds per cartridge. It has the same DNA lockout as her sniper rifle where it will not be able to be used.
It takes about ten seconds between shots to since it has a massive kickback, its similarly to the kickback on a shotgun. It only shoots one type of railgun ammo, it is a blue energy laser that goes in one direction towards the target. She has to use this railgun in her armor or it’ll break her bones otherwise, the shock absorption of her sniper outfit is better than her bare arms and hands.
It takes about 1 hour and 40 minutes in total to fire all twelve rounds per cartridge, unload and reload the cartridge/battery. The railgun’s cartridges have to be properly disposed since they cannot be recharged at all but they leave a bit of residual radiation on the weapon. The weapon has to be cleaned properly before it is allowed to be used again since the residual radiation hurts the fine mechanical parts of the weapon.
It was customized to be different shades of blue with a name on the side of the weapon barrel with Debra’s name on it. She picked up the ‘finished product’ on her 15th birthday, while it was finished way before that. However, the shades of blue change to a white color when it’s not being held.
Hobbies:
Writing - She writes on a data pad that is her diary to be specific. Because of this, it is the few things she enjoys doing on her spare time. It was created specifically by her father Richard, it has a complex passcode that changes its algorithm every few milliseconds to keep her things that are most important to her secret. The data pad has a limited artificial intelligence that is based off Debra’s mother Angela Kayla Amberdine and usually says, ‘Welcome Debra.’ When she accesses the datapad for her daily writing.
Gambling - She enjoys gambling it is an addiction she got because her parents were into this addiction too. She usually enjoys gambling on a new game that involves simulation battles or wars between the HBE and any force in the universe that is as strong as them. In terms it’s similar to a video game predicting troop movements, battle lines and where each faction will strike in a war that has gone hot. She never bets against the Holy Britannian Empire in these simulations because it’s quite dumb to bet against the Empire who won against Karatai.
Skills:
Organization - She is highly organized for someone who’s constantly doing her job as a protector for her father’s work. The only person’s paperwork that usually gives her trouble in the organization department is her own father’s paperwork since he’s a bit of a hectic mess but a genius in any right.
Knowledge - She is very knowledgeable in long ranged weapons of starships and anything that is a sniper rifle or railgun. She got this knowledge from her expert of a father since he’s one of the only ones that built these weapon systems. She kinda expects more from the sniper rifle and railguns you can wield personally than the starship weapons.
Abilities:
Telepathy - She can speak to people with her mind. She usually asks permission before she uses her telepathy to speak to them or even read their thoughts. She doesn’t want to be invasive telepath since there is those type of people out there in the universe. She only reads the surface thoughts of someone when she is given permission.
Telekinesis - She can move objects with her mind that usually include anything that is specifically hers alike her weapons or her data pad. She can usually help people who are needing help with heavier objects. However, she can only lift about three times her own body weight in things, you won’t be seeing her lift anything supermassive, which weighs in the tons.
Biotechnology Cloaking Field - She was given a chameleon’s camouflage, when she’s not wearing her Sniper Outfit or wielding her Archveil Sniper Rifle. This makes her camouflage very easily with her surroundings if she wants to take a break or what not. However, it requires focus to keep it up or it will drop since that’s what the biotech surgeon told her to use it very cautiously or it’ll strain her.
Personality:
Her personality is somewhat the same and completely different to her parents defining traits. She is a hot headed individual when it is involved with her family’s accomplishments as a whole. She’s extremely proud of what her parents have done in their life. Her parents are well known in the fields of military science and medical science. She feels entitled to what her family holds within the Holy Britannia Empire. Even though it isn’t as grand compared to other families within the empire as a whole. She has a pride of being apart of the Amberdine family as a whole, which is how she is so hot headed.
She’s highly considerate of other people’s feelings when it comes to her being a latent telepathy. She asks for permission to read someone’s mind or talks to them within their mind because, she wants to be different from other telepaths. In the case of her most defining characteristic is her diligence and patience when it came to her chosen profession of being a sniper compared to a scientist or doctor.
She has a sweet tooth for knowledge of weaponry for starships and personal since it’s better to its nuance of what it does and how powerful it is. She usually gets into long drawn out conversations with her father, when she’s not protecting him about what he does for a living and it interests her. She usually can spark up a conversation about weapons, mainly with other people that aren’t really annoyed at her overexertion of being friendly and kind.
She has a strange quirk that she got from her mother. She usually gives someone a quick look over and gives them a compliment randomly out of the blue. She hardly ever insults anyone when she does this, it’s something she picked up from her mother via her DNA. The compliments involve their weapon of choice or their personality, it usually gives her pause and be slightly embarrassed by what she had said. She doesn’t really get embarrassed easily but it just makes her a bit shocked she did something her mother still does to this day.
She has a very organized life compared to her father, it kinda frustrates her how unorganized he is. She gained one of her parents bad habits, which is gambling. She couldn’t really stop herself from trying gambling, since the newest War Simulator came out awhile ago. It puts the Holy Britannian Empire against any other force in the universe and see who would win in a simulated war scenario. She plays it safe and has the opposite problem of her parents, she is not in debt but is usually hounded by people who want to borrow money from her. Since she always picks her empire.
Her wild imagination usually caused her to have a slight darker interpretation of what was happening in her family. Even though she had a good childhood as a whole, just nowhere near to a great one. It’s mostly because her parents were workaholics and couldn’t stop working to raise their daughter in the relative peace the family had. Therefore, she would self-inflict mental torment in imagining if her parents were yelling or other things to make her feel more loved. Her cognitive dissonance was out of whack. Mostly because she wanted any attention from her parents that involved something more enjoyable. She only got this from her father Richard since he was much more around than her mother.
Short Bio:
She was born on June 20th, 2223 to her parents Angela Kayla Amberdine and Richard Lyle Amberdine. Her parents were twenty-two years old, when they had their daughter Debra. The planet of birth was Percival Alpha in the Percival system in a highly technological hospital that was top notch in their services. It was proud of its record of delivering with great efficiency and never have any complications in the services it provides, in terms of child birth and surgeries. Angela was prideful in having a very healthy baby girl in this hospital. Richard was ecstatic in finally having a child with his wife he loves with all his heart and was extremely happy that she was born with no problems during birth.
The Amberdine family as a whole live in an automated artificial intelligent home that usually gives their usual day to day going ons. The AI gives updates on what’s going on in system first then what’s going on with the rest of the Empire afterwards. In a pretty female voice that sounds awfully alike Angela, but altered a bit to not sound exactly like her. They went home after their daughter Debra was born and was grateful they were a step ahead of the newest addition to their home. They already had a baby’s room already set up in one of the semi-large rooms, which would be good for a growing child.
Debra herself had a pretty unique upbringing mostly because both of her parents are workaholics. Her father was more around than her mother since she was hardcore into the medical field of research and development. She enjoyed asking her father questions about what he does that is known to the wider empire as a whole. He would usually tell her to stop asking about the more top secret things since he doesn’t want his daughter to get in trouble after all. She took a liking to the long ranged weaponry her father brought home since it tickled her curiosity much.
“Daughter, this is an Anti-Armor Personnel Rifle that shoots railgun bursts towards enemy targets that are heavily armored,” Richard said. He was holding it correctly while he was testing it in the basement since he usually does ‘fixed testing’ on certain weapon systems if they can truly pierce what they are marketed for via the Empire’s weapon merchants. “Great, looks like the weapon merchants sold me a used railgun. How nice,” Richard said, with a slight annoyed look on his face.
Debra heard her father’s explanation of what the railgun is classified as, some of the stuff he said kinda went over her head at this point. She was only like 6 years old at this point but she was highly curious though. “Daddy, you asked the weapon merchants for any specifically ‘used’ railguns though,” Debra said with a cute little smile on her face.
Richard heard what his young daughter said. “Looks like you are better at remembering than I am. Guess I should’ve wrote that down but I have tons of stuff on my plate though,” Richard said, with a smile on his face. He put the weapon on the weapon bench in front of him. He walked up to his daughter and picked her up. “Let’s go get something to eat before I try ‘upgrading’ this railgun to fit my dream weapon for you daughter,” Richard said.
Debra smiled and looked a bit at the anti-armor personnel rifle that is a railgun. She was picked up by her father after what he had said. “Yeah, I am kinda hungry. But watching you work daddy is wonderful though,” Debra said cutely. She heard her father after that and was happy her father was going to work on a project for her. She had a smile on her face, even though the AI in their home was very helpful in her day to day. When her parents are away.
Richard walks up the stairs with his daughter and asked the AI. About specific things going on, since he has been being challenged by some space newts. However, he enjoys the friendly conversations with them since they are intelligent for challenging the prospects of humans ingenuity. The AI told the usual things about what’s going on in system and the empire is ever growing. The AI has a side of a creepy aunt or well known cynical person who can’t really take a joke. Debra was 15 years old and she was traveling with her dad to Lancelot system via a well known merchant corporation that uses a civilian model Knight for its business model. The planet in the Lancelot system they were going to was specifically the second planet in the system. The merchant corporation is called Merchant Travelers Corporation, that handles passengers to Lancelot system from Percival system. They dislike carrying goods that could get them in trouble with the Empire since they are a bit worried about contraband. They give discounts to the Amberdine Family, because of the reason the corporation’s CEO is direct friends to Richard.
She enjoyed how spacious their room was, she couldn’t really understand how or why anyone would want to travel in style. However, when the ship initiated the hyperspace jump. that connected Percival to Lancelot, she kinda lost her lunch and barfed since she was new to the whole hyperspace. Richard couldn’t help but laugh at her first hyperspace jump but he was like that when that first happened. “So dad, why are we going to Lancelot Beta and not the first planet? Lancelot Prime,” Debra asked, curiously.
Richard looked at her with a slight smile. “Because going somewhere else is always nice. And I put a custom order in for a single weapon that you said you would’ve liked, it’s similar to the used Railgun I worked on but much better in quality,” Richard said. He did create it, just had to get it customized to fit his daughter’s favorite color of blue and had to have her name added via a professional weapon customizer.
Debra heard what her father had said. “The Arc Railgun that you made for me? How long does customizing a weapon take,” Debra said confused. She couldn’t really understand her father’s perfectionist ways in terms of giving her the best quality weapons. But she shoots robotic shells in the basement of the home, in a very safe environment even though her wild imagination kinda hurts a bit.
The Civilian Knight-class cruiser got out of hyperspace. On the edge of the Lancelot System and it was going to make a stop at Lancelot Alpha then Lancelot Prime since it had passengers that wanted to go to Lancelot Prime. It was hailed via the security force and it went through the necessary red tape to enter the system properly. In terms of it being scanned even though the Empire’s security force knows the Merchant Travelers Corporation was on the up and up. The two systems were completely different since there’s more security forces in Lancelot System than anywhere else since it requires to be defended more.
The announcer, which was one of the employees of the Merchant Travelers Corporation said, they have arrived in the Lancelot System. The voice is female since she was highly extremely happy about the whole thing and told the people who usually don’t visit Lancelot system to not break the rules or you’ll be sent to prison quick. However, the Amberdine family onboard knows this since the Lancelot System is always on the news. Since the AI talks about every little gritty thing going on in this system mostly about the raids and other things and the police state.
“Everyone onboard the MTC Gravic Traveler will be able to depart from the ship when we get to the first destination that is Lancelot Beta. Lancelot Beta is the first destination,” The female announcer said with a completely calming voice. The announcer voice turned off and silent was back in the Amberdine room.
Debra looked at her father with a smile. “That’s nice to know we will be getting off first,” Debra said. She know that the Lancelot system is all about industry, etc. But never been there herself until now that is. She didn’t have great expectations of the industrial capital of the empire but it’s better than nothing.
Richard nods in what his daughter just said and looked at his watch on his wrist but it was in a different format to wrist watches. He sighs and knows he’ll have to get some work into fixing his watch to go back to Digital Readings. “Looks like I have another project on my hands,” Richard said with a sigh. He can’t believe one of his coworkers pranked him with his watch by changing it to a completely different way to tell time.
Debra couldn’t help but listen to her father complain about his watch again, since it has become a retinue from her father. “Dad, you should really get a new watch so you don’t have to worry about that anymore,” Debra said. She couldn’t help but giggle a bit.
About fifty minutes later, the MTC Gravic Traveler started to enter the atmosphere of Lancelot Alpha to land in its designated landing spot in the Spaceport. It landed exactly where it should be. The passengers were allowed to leave and go about their business, while the ship lifted off and went to drop off it’s load in Lancelot Prime.
Debra and her father walked to the location, where he was told to meet the guy who was working on his special order. It was a small industrial workshop called Jeb’s Customizing and Repair Shop. It had a feel of a pretty intense place to work since the person who works here does multiple different things while working on an Industrial planet. Richard walked up to the front desk and hit the bell.
The owner of the store walked up to the front desk and smiled. He was a stout man, who enjoyed working with his hands even though the long hours and intense job markets leave very room for error. He does customizing on the side even though his store says, Customizing that’s mostly goods that need to be customized before being shipped out. He sat down the Arc Railgun on the counter, it had all the customizing that Richard asked for but it wasn’t cheap. “The Job is done, now where’s my pay?” Jeb asked. He picked up the weapon’s case it came in and put it to the side of the weapon.
Richard paid Jeb the payment they agreed to. He picked up the weapon and it was pretty unique nonetheless. He enjoyed the Jeb’s craftsmanship. “Great job, as usual Jeb. Prefabrication is always great in this place,” Richard said. He sat the weapon down, opened the weapon’s case and put the weapon inside of it. He locked, closed the weapon’s case and than walked out of the place with his daughter behind him.
Debra was awed at when her father picked up the weapon, when it was glowing multiple shades of blue while being held by him. She followed her father pretty easily all this traveling to this one workshop didn’t take too long. They were at the spaceport again and got on the next starship out of Lancelot Alpha to Percival Alpha. Time flies when they arrived back home with no real incident.
Debra was around 17 years old, this was like a few months after her birthday. She arrived on Lancelot Prime for work. She wanted to work for the Empire but not in the same capacity as her parents, who are extremely busy and workaholics. She looked at the Job listings on Lancelot Prime and saw Privateer work from a poster called Captain Morgan and the ship is called the Typhon. She was highly proud of her empire and saw this as an opportunity to do something for it.
She read every little thing on piece of paper and picked up did as it said to burn it. She had no real clue with the shady side of the Empire. She was a bit shocked to see a skull and crossbones though. She was a bit shaken at that since she heard that there are pirates in the Empire but that’s mostly from the Intelligence AI system in her home. However, she did still honestly think it was for the empire and what not and not truly pirates.
She arrived at the Dark Matter Bar, looking around it. She walked up to the bar since that’s the first thing her father usually does but she remembered she’s not old enough to drink. She noticed the Captain sitting alone at the bar. The other sight was more odd to her, it gave her a slight headache mostly at the fact it was a Sailing Vessel in space but much larger though. She sat directly at the bar and looked at the captain in question. She was shocked, in that he looked only slightly older than her.
She listened to the Captain and couldn’t help but giggle at what’s going on. The oddity of the personality on the captain, kinda made her think of her father’s workaholic nature. She heard his name and had an odd look on her face, mostly Arron Marshal Falcon. She just smiled back at him. She wanted to join this guy since it was something to do, since her imagination could sooner or later get her family in trouble no matter what. “I will join you, sir. Where do I sign up? I can be a deckhand, I think that’s a position people require on starships?” Debra asked, curiously. She took a guess on the position she would be more suited for even though she enjoys shooting from long range with her sniper rifle or railgun.
Additional Information:
Richard Lyle Amberdine - He crafts weapons for personal use and starship use. He constructed all the things that his daughter uses in terms of weapons. He’s been absorbed by his work and is a complete workaholic since he wants to protect the last vestiges of his family. He outright loves his daughter and helps her in unique ways.
He has 125 IQ, which makes him more suited to be specialized in the weapon R&D in the Percival system, with the other geniuses that work in this field. He usually keeps better tabs on his daughter than his wife, Angela. He’s thirty-nine years old as of 2240.
Angela Kayla Amberdine - She loves her daughter much since she gave birth to her beautiful daughter Debra. She’s also a workaholic and hasn’t really been at the Amberdine’s home in awhile since she’s doing biotech surgeries and cybernetic implant surgeries for a pretty penny. She hasn’t really seen her daughter in awhile but she has talked to her husband much, and asked her to create a data pad with her voice to help their daughter out.
She’s two IQ points below her husband. Which makes her more suited to be specialized in the medical R&D in the Percival system. She’s thirty-nine years old as of 2240.
I'm giving up the surgeon position. I thought I had time to write but my time management skills are failing me. Anyway love the premise of this RP. I'll be avidly reading the IC.
Age: Appears in her early 20s, but her actual age is considerably higher.
Gender: Female
Job: Surgeon
Weapons: Electric channelers built into her arms. Also able to discharge said electricity into a medium range attack.
Abilities: Heightened physical strength, expert hand to hand fighter.
Personality: Unlike her sibling, Spia is the loud and proud of the two. She's always upbeat and cheerful, albeit bordering obnoxiously, but she will defend those she cares about down to the last, her mindset changing into one that is lethally serious. Even if her last moments come to pass, she'll go forward as she always has with her smile on her face and her brother at her side. Anyone who thinks they can casually cop a feel might find themselves launched across the room, and that's if she's in a good mood.
Short bio: Designed as a sister unit to Izaroth, meant to act as a tag team dynamic with the other android, Spia herself was ultimately left with an imperfect version of her sibling's power core due to resource constraints. This limits her fighting capabilities, as she can only exert her offensive abilities for a limited time before she has to retreat, else she risks shutting down. This is part and parcel why she, Izaroth and Mark joined up with the crew, that they might get the necessary materials to complete her properly.
Appearance:
Name: Izaroth Aestorm
Race: Android
Age: Appears 21, but is much older than he looks
Gender: Male
Job: Deckhand/Boarding Party
Weapons: Has miniturized energy cannons built into his forearms, but can combine the two together to form an artillery cannon unit. This is not without risk, however, as he has to root himself to solid ground to fire it at max power, lest he blows himself off into deep space. In close quarters, he favours a collapsible beam halberd instead, typically holstered on the left hip.
Abilities: Unlimited operational time: Regardless of where he is, or what he's doing, Izaroth can keep going 24/7 without tiring, due to the self sustaining nature of his power core, often producing more energy than he'd ever need to use, typically using the surplus to recharge his sister unit, Spia, instead. Also possesses the same enhanced physical strength Spia possesses.
Personality: Typically calm and composed, Izaroth is likely to spend his downtime observing members of the crew, or reading books on whatever topic holds his interest at the time. That being said, don't just assume because he seems passive at first glance that he won't knock you to the floor if you start giving him grief... Provided Spia doesn't get there first.
Short bio: Originally built as a lone unit meant to allow an AI to observe, live among, and develop an understanding of organic life, that he might lead to a race of synthetics that could perfectly emulate an organic life form, Izaroth was later given combat functionality as an afterthought, that he can act in self defense or defense of another. Spia came into the equation when Izaroth gained curiosity about organic siblings, though her version of that same AI went down a different route in terms of personality, not that Izaroth seemed to mind much.
Appearance:
Name: Mark Artemis Astaroth
Race: Human
Age: 31
Gender: Male
Job: Engineer
Weapons: Railgun-Bow hybrid
Abilities: Genius intellect: His archery might be on target most of the time, but his intellect is his best asset; Whether it's repairing an FTL drive to coming up with strategies in the heat of battle, he prefers to think things through to find the best course of action before doing anything, though he prefers to use his brain intellectually.
Personality: Typically a level headed, if somewhat of a snarky individual, Mark has a bad habit of subconsciously shutting out the world around him when he's caught up in his work... And is typically startled quite easily when he's like that. He also doesn't really care about what others think of him, since, in his opinion, he has to work with the cards he's been dealt.
Short bio: Creator of the Aestorm siblings, leaving Spia in an incomplete state as he did has always been something he's been meaning to fix, but lacked the means to find the resources needed to do so, having exhausted his own resources creating . Joining up with Arron would potentially rectify this issue, and so he took Izaroth and Spia with him, that he could quickly make the corrections to Spia's core once he'd recieved what he needed.
Hi! U: I guess a 1-sentence summary on the race singularly known as an 'Aylv' didn't quite explain their...scarcity. While I have this next bit up on my profile for Kaite, it would be fair to leave the section here for specific reference regarding a few issues with your character.
'The Chimeras of Triganavia', 'The Children of Aylv', 'The Lost Boys', 'Space Rats'... Roughly twenty years ago, these names surfaced on the news following reports of acclaim regarding the successes of the Triganavia corporation. Their 'new-man' project, this creature that could survive hostile conditions and trauma, all based on the exposure of their pharmaceutical end. Making human clones wasn't enough, it was about the 99.5% accuracy in their treatments. After pushs from military backers to produce something more substantial than a morally questionable ration supplement, strides were taken to enhance and test the intelligence of their specimens to serve on front lines in measures to rival simple artificial intelligence. This challenge was taken farther than expected as the specimens were edged on with no actual goal, mostly to see how far beyond human limitations technology and science could reach without the chains of limitation. It only took Triganavia three years before their security couldn't keep up with the creations who had learned to 'play dumb' and even 'play defective' after trial and error. What humanity saw as failure, these 'Children of Aylv' knew as exploitation. A clock ticked over to midnight and the revolution was born. Triganavia was dismantled overnight as two batches of one-hundred with fifty being in formidable condition incited a collective uprising against those who would otherwise use them for cosmetics, medical testing and meat supplements.
In a statement against humanity, after years of piracy after utilizing the escape pods to inhabit and take down other ships with lures of distress signals, the 'Children of Aylv' pried the remains of Triganavia from Mars, adding their birthplace to a hive which they call 'The Abstract'. This citadel was made from hobbling together a few light-speed capable crafts with shield-integration, it is likely to drift in the Terran neighboring clusters, though its whereabouts are widely unknown. Though clusters of their forces have been eradicated, the unwavering and unpredictable frequency of attacks has left the Committee widely clueless how wide-spread the threat of The Legion and its Children of Aylv reach. The established fear is in the stolen genetics technology in their possession which they call 'The Nightmare Machine' for its use to create abominations who serve most roles. In these twenty years, few actual sightings of the three-hundred or so Aylvs have been made...or the survivors of raids are reluctant to speak of it.
Tormented ramblings whisper of the horrific brutality displayed by Aylvic marauders and their monsters, as well as mention upon hushed lips of some mysterious technology they possess. It has been romanticized as a presence rather than a device, capable of crushing, freezing and effortlessly tearing men women and children asunder with a mere mention of a few shapeless words. The Committee rejects these claims, as rumors of a glorified pirate faction in possession of terrifying, unknown technology is bad for morale. For numerous reasons, this force the Aylvic Legion supposedly wield is referred to as 'The Mantle'.
Speculation surrounds the appearance of Aylvs, since experiments in their creation lead to a slurry of genetic combinations. The 'Primes' are the most stable and therefore hold more prominent roles in their society. Primes appear as small humans ranging between four to five feet tall with rabbit-like ears and tail, vertically slit pupils and pronounced top and bottom canines.
Curiously, Aylvs were designed to be genderless. As such, they do not have exclusively 'he' and 'she' distinctions even in physical appearance, but rather varying levels of gray somewhere in between.
It is unclear how long 'Wild' Aylvs live for, how reproductions works or if they established a 'home' planet. Their culture, religion and hierarchy is also widely unknown. Captive Aylvs tend to die from cardio-myopathy relating to stress and tirelessly resist interrogation. Information regarding them is difficult to glean, as the Legion is more likely to shoot someone than answer a single question, and those with answers are in unreliable states of mind.
