"Management Consultant"- Nameless
"Ajax's Grave", Foreigner’s Lowlands

It took.

And so, it screamed.

The Saint Graph was devoured, along with its “everything”. Information, mystery, memories, all such things were taken in by it.

Ah, ah, ah-

So this was it.

This was what it meant to be human.

This joy at being able to feel.

This sorrow at its siblings not having the same.

The hope for a brighter future.

It understood, now. It understood what the hero felt at seeing his friend perish. It understood the anguish in the homunculus's eyes. It understood the excitement of its master.

Power. Power, power, an overwhelming power. But more important than the power was the meaning behind it. This was the state that their master had sought for them to reach. This was the step needed for them to transcend their original designation and become something else.

It's an easy 'form' to understand. That's why it's filled with primeval power.

Its master's voice echoed along their connection.

If you want this name...don't die so easily. Tear everything apart. Change all substances into your own element. Mock the name of ■■■■■■■■■■ himself.

You can stand on your own two feet now. Congratulations on your promotion to named partner, '■■■■■■■'.

A name.

No, a Unit Designation.

Something changed. Something irreparably changed. From the outside, there was no discernable difference, but there was no doubt that something fundamental to its existence had changed.

No longer a familiar. Now, it was its own being.

Yes, for in this world, there exists that boy who can materialize the wishes of mankind, granting them a form. A wishgranter who creates illusions. A wishgranter who creates demons.

Yes, for in this world, angels are known as supernatural beings that have been reclassified as angels or beings that have been given power by their master.

This being could be said to have become both.

It was something that did not belong in this world. Something impossible that had materialized. Something that was forever distant to those concepts held by others.

Imaginary demon. Materialized wish. Biological curse. Sixth Imaginary Aspect.

And, having been granted a name by its former master, having received a Unit Designation, it had transcended beyond its former limits.

Its form shifted, writhed, compressed.

It assumed the body it had been granted at its birth, as now that body suited it all the more. A childlike laugh tore out of its body.

From the distended figure of a man, it drew into itself, forming a whirling cacophony of black, a miniature tornado within which sat the alabaster eye that had consumed Yamato.

...no.

Not a tornado.

It was the hallmark of something entirely different.

The "true form" of the demons that been painstakingly crafted and raised at the hands of Evan Strauss. The foremost exhibition of their nature and their purpose. And now, it was free. Free of a master, free of weakness, free of blindness. It was a being that could exceed its own nature and become something truly incredible. It was the herald of a new age.

Archer (Odysseus)

Southern Moor

Archer had a look of serenity about her, unexpectedly the beginning of the war had been rather peaceful. This however. This was more like what she was expecting. A worthy challenge don't you think? She had already had more time to kick back than she had expected. It seemed the journey would begin with this. And I would never forgive you if it were to end with this. Archer chuckled gently to herself, or to her opponent somewhere out here. Recognising them as her enemy. Don't be saying things like that now, it's almost like you are asking for the worst to happen.

She looked towards her ally, Berserker. He was both powerful and reliable, large and imposing, some tactical mind but not all up there in the head. It was a rather nostalgic feeling to be going to battle with Berserker, it reminded him of a certain man he fought alongside back in Troy. Although that mans end was not a memory particularly fond for her, she had felt some sense of responsibility for it. But it was not her doing. It was the will of the gods. She could only hope that his soul has forgiven itself after all of these years. Shame had not fit that man. That mans end was his own doing, think nothing of it.

A strange noise coming from one of Berserker's skeletons brought her head out of the clouds. She bit her lip and scorned herself a little. She knew better than this. They were now entering enemy territory, she had to be focused now. Their forces may have consisted of skeletons, but she would treat every single one of them as she would have an Achean soldier. She had been given the responsibility of a commander, something that she was not a stranger to. She put all of her effort into analysing the land in front of her, seemingly tearing through the place with her senses and rebuilding it several times in her mind. She was no fool. You know what lies ahead right? Of course she did.

Just by being here this level of reasoning was possible for Odysseus.

For the first time in the war a bow materialised in the woman known as Archers hands. With a bold look on her face drew the sturdy and powerful looking bow, an arrow materialising itself as she did so. There was nothing special about the arrow other than it appearing out of nowhere. It was a standard arrow. Nothing special. "Our enemy has set numerous traps within their territory. We shall deal with them as swiftly and efficiently as possible. Listen to me and things shall go smoothly for us. As she finished talking the shot was fired instantly. Off into the land in-front of them. To Berserker and his army it was a wild shot, going nowhere with hopes of hitting something. But it was a shot with deadly accuracy, one that knew its target and would pierce through it with absolute certainty. As she drew her bow once more the group would be able to hear the sounds of a large log being swung in front of them. Archer had triggered their enemies traps before they had reached there. "I will continue to neutralise as many of these as possible. However I am afraid that this will not be enough... Our enemy seems to be an expert at these.

It did not take even a moment for Archers head to be filled with plans to deal with these traps. She would work to minimise the casualties. Sacrifice the least amount of people needed and avoid them altogether when possible. If she had to give up a single skeleton she would. But these skeletons were not so helpless themselves. They could join together to defeat the tasks ahead of them. Forming bridges to allow the army to pass by safely. Tampering with the traps could not be ruled out either. If a boulder is to be thrown at them it is best to get rid of the boulder. Archer of course would work to destroy as many as possible herself. She would then not have to worry about Berserker being caught in one. Although that would do very little to a servant of his calibre. But of course she would attempt to keep Berserker unharmed, preparing him to engage with the enemy once they show themselves. No. As they show themselves. Until then she would operate nearby him and provide him with the suggestions that she believed were the most appropriate. The army of skeletons will surely clear the way to victory.

Kage Kurokawa

Fuyuki Park, Miyama

@ReallyDumb@Argonaut

Walking toward Riyu with an almost burnt-out cigarette in his mouth, Kage had a look of approval on his face. He was watching the whole event go down from afar through the pair of binoculars hanging from his neck. He eagerly made his way to his temporary employee, as if he couldn't wait to give her the good news.

"Looks like a job well done. Glad your friend took care of everything," Kage started, with a wink from his one good eye, "you made a couple of bright flashes at that church over there, but don't worry, my boys will cover it." Taking a long puff of smoke from his cigarette, Kage looked down to the ground, staying silent for a moment before exhaling the smoke out from his lungs. His expression had shifted, the cigarette but falling to the ground as his mouth moved to a frown.

"Don't worry about my wife, by the way. I... took care of her, and my boy."

After a moment of awkward silence, Kage cleared his throat, crossing his arms and looking back up at the pink-haired girl. "Ah, right, your reward...

"Just stop by one of the houses we've got at the Native District for your full reward. Tell 'em Kage sent ya, and ask for some... heh, green tea. And feel free to choose one of those safe houses there, as well. It's as good as yours, with all the man stationed in there under your control for as long as this... war between you foreigners last. Oh, yeah, I know what you all are doing here, an acquaintance of mine, Gin, told us enough about it to look out for you all. Personally, I don't care about it so long as you don't cross the Fujimuras, specifically. As far as I'm certain, you've got our protection. Maybe I can set a line between you and my boss, if you want any more support from us.

"... Ah, and before I forget, our turf might be facing a bit of trouble. Riots are starting because some of you other foreigners just like messing with our city, huh? I'd try and avoid 'em, but if you can help with them I'm sure you'll be properly rewarded. As a matter of fact..."

Kage digged in his jacket pocket, pulling out a stack of yen fat enough to barely wrap one's hand around. "Here's a gift for staying on our good side, so far. It's just a small fraction of how much you've earned helping us. If you make it to the Native District before it's too late, maybe even help my boys out around there, you'll find the rest of your reward over there.

"Ah, and that reminds me... if you catch any, uh... other gangs around there capitalizing on the chaos, feel free to kill 'em. That friend of yours with the sword can kill pretty fast, can't he? I've seen it with my own eye, after all... Heck, I'll throw you an offer; for every one of those invaders you kill, consider it another stack just like this. It'll come out of my wallet, this time."

With a vicious stomp on his burnt-out cigarette, Kage gave one more nod to Riyu before turning around and waving.

Fujimura Syndicate

Native District, Miyama

@Seirei no Hai

The Native District was a disaster.

The riots raged on across the streets as peace was failed to be kept. From the countless disasters that have occurred within the span of a few days, of course, the people of Fuyuki would be upset, especially those living in Miyama. Losing their homes from the fire and the cataclysm that came soon after was more than enough to drive them to a panic, but losing more of their loved ones from the attack on the train was the last straw. The people of Miyama were filled with rage that nobody was doing anything to stop these disasters from happening.

The Yakuza, however, were working their hardest to ensure that their properties remain defended. Firstly, they have refugee families in their care, those who had lost their homes to the many disasters that have occurred the other day. Another factor is the possibility of raiders popping up, taking advantage of the chaos to widen their pockets. Lastly, the appearance of many foreigners, especially after the Foreigner District went ablaze, has had the somewhat xenophobic Yakuza into high alert.

"Ah, damn... those foreign gangsters have made their way here!" One Yakuza thug had shouted out, perched up on a small tower near one of their many safe houses and owned businesses in the area. "They've got cars and everything! It looks like they're looking to start a war!" The thug seemed to be talking to another man, superior to him, seated on a desk, a glass of Whiskey in his hands. He was an older man who, as well, had a penchant for dressing up in Western suits.

"Hell no we aren't letting any of these stinkin' crackerjack sons of bitches on our land! Get our marksman up and tell 'em to grab the Dutch and American guns! Have them dress up like those foreigners do, as well. If they try anything against us, we'll make it look like it's them that's to blame! Make sure we've got some of our hype-men marching out there, as well, and have 'em start shouting shit about how all this is those foreigner's fault! Make sure that they've dug their own grave coming here..."

The grizzled gangster took another sip of his drink before slamming the cup down on his desk. The whole situation bothered him. He couldn't send any more of his men to help control the chaos. All the manpower he had was focused on defending his own territory, specifically. There weren't any more room for refugees in their buildings, either. He couldn't help but feel cornered, but at the same time, he wasn't going to let some Yankees take his turf. Not while he has a fighting chance.

Resting his elbows on his desk while rubbing his temples in frustration, the Yakuza boss sighed.

"Where the fuck is Gin when you need 'im?"

Gin Yoshiyaki

Pellion's Pub, Gates of Troy, Edge of Shinto

@Paradox Witch@Sageage

Gin rolled around on the ground, laughing. I mean, who can blame him? From his own Servant's eyes, he had seen Achilles, one of the greatest heroes of Greek myth, run from Chiron with his tail between his legs. It was an entertaining spectacle, to be sure, especially considering the differences in stature, given Chiron's current form. And Gin was able to see clearly why Achilles is considered the fastest of the heroes.

While the rest of Fuyuki slowly burned to the ground, Gin spent a lot of that time getting drunk at his Servant's bar. He couldn't be as much help as he wanted to be, during these events, anyway. Even most of his boys were sent out earlier this morning to help rebuild. Was it rebuild? Gin's mind was too hazy to even recall. At this point, he's just drinking away all his worries. Even if he wanted to act, he was forced to stay at the bar and practice his magecraft, anyway. Cradling his head into his arms, Gin decide to go for another nap, on the cold, hard flo-

"Boss! There's a riot in our turf! You gotta do something 'bout it!"

Black Rider

’NEMETON’, Miyama Town

@Sageage@DostHou

"... What the hell?"

Rider stood there, dumbfounded, his hand still clutching at the spear that had already left his hand. Rider was already disappointed that his opponent didn't have what he was looking for, and yet, that's just the beginning of it all. His opponent, Percival, Knight of the Round Table, has fled. Rider was left there, in the middle of nowhere, as the grove fell apart around him. All that was left was himself and Percival's Master, in the middle of nowhere, as everything around them began to die. And with that, Rider's mood had turned afoul.

"... You should run. Now." Growling at Hamel before giving him a glare that could kill, Rider clenched his now empty hands into fists. While he still didn't feel like killing a human at the moment, there may be other Servants out in the open looking for an easy Master kill, and Rider was in no mood to save his life. If anything, Rider decided to find a better place to let off steam at. Somewhere more... immediate. Astralizing away, Rider figured he would find just what he was looking for from the tip his opponent had given him before running off...

Rider had made it just in time to see the aftermath of yet another battle. His rival, Achilles, has already defeated his own adversary. It was some sort of woman, locked into his arms. It seems that she had made the same mistake Rider had in the past, deciding that it would be best to grapple him, except it may have been that she wasn't strong enough to break out of his hold. It's more than enough evidence to Rider that this Lancer is meant to be his opponent. During this time, however, Rider was in no mood to fight his destined opponent again. He didn't want to fight someone already exhausted from another fight, and he especially didn't want his rival to see him in the enraged state he was in. Grunting to himself, Rider turned away, deciding that it would be best that he made his way back ho-...

Wait.

Something had caught Rider's eyes. Another great presence, one alike to Achilles, but more similar to Rider, himself. More beast than human. More man than monster. It was something that was, while easily missed, was too great to ignore, especially to Rider. Indeed, he had caught sight of a presence he was all too familiar with; that of a terrible dragon.

And the dragon, it seems, was someone Rider himself had known from the past, in some way...

... and he had his trophy wife with him, too...

... yes, this was more than perfect.

"SIEGFRIEEEEEEEEEED!"

Sending a burst of prana through his legs, Rider leaped up into the sky, leaving deep crater where he once stood. Crossing his arms in front of him, he took a deep breath as he made his way skywards. As he started plummeting down, however, he directed his body straight for that knight, letting out the air in his lungs into a burst of flames! They intensified, greatly, not only because of Rider's anger, but because they were eager to scorch the skin of yet another dragon.

Breath of the Dragon: B++

As Rider plummeted down, breathing flames on his armored arms, the heat began to surround his entire body. Because of the nature of his armor, however, it only resulted in the fires exploding out from Rider while leaving him unharmed. And because he was surrounded by his own flames, they all started bursting out from every direction. To all the onlookers catching sight of Rider, they would see a great comet of dragon's fire falling to the Earth, growing more intense as it made its way closer to its target...

...And from within that great ball of fire, a scream that could only be described as inhuman.

Saber: Sigurd, the Dragon Slayer

Dealing With A Salty Chunni Heroic Spirit, Ajax's Grave

"Gudrun, dear, there is someone coming for me. You have likely sensed it too. If you wish to be involved, so be it. But i do not wish to see you fall here."

That was all he had said ahead of time, plenty ahead of time before what came next. It was abnormal for him to say, and yet for Gudrun's sake he spoke like a proper husband in this instance.

"SIEGFRIEEEEEEEEEED!"

That name. Ah. Indeed it was "that" man who had mistaken him for that "other" heroic spirit then. It made sense, the fire, the rage like that of a beast, that armor which was a Noble Phantasm, this particular tactic of attacking method. He had seen this ahead of time, looking a bit into the future between a combination of Revelation and his temporary Clairvoyance. He had seen the results of the battle between the Achaean and Japanese Prince as well and such things as what was to come for this battle. To Sigurd, a hero on par with King Arthur, it was of no consequence to battle this man. In fact, it was both a test and a battle, a setting of combat that would allow their mettle to be tested. His beloved sword, at least for now, was not necessary to use.

Had he chosen to do so, this man would be dead in the air before he even hit the ground.

Runes Activated: All 18 Original Runes Deployed. Runic Shield Created.

A barrier, one that could block a high-ranking Noble Phantasm and fully defend against it, was deployed in an instant at the right moment. The right moment that the attack could not be diverted in time, and that the protection of this barrier would be up before any harm could come to he or Gudrun. Primarily the latter. Such was the nature of Sigurd's skill with runes. So as his opponent would make contact, he would never get through. It was a simple as that.

"You cannot discern that i am not actually 'that' man, hmm? Ah, but you likely do not care it would seem either way."

And there was his lecture for the day. At least, to this man.

Ground Platoons Eighty-Two through Eighty-Six

Ex-Workshop, Fuyuki Park

Finally, the last remnants of that Caster's barriers were reduced to naught. With nothing blocking their paths, they were free to move in on the objective.

The main target was lost. Had Caster's body still been around they would have found it instantly.

At the very least, there were a good number of corpses to consume. Initial assessment said over two hundred. They were greater than normal humans, these children of lightning, but there was no need for more disposable, weak, numerous units. That was their job. They consumed them for what little power they were worth.

Some were different, however. No, it was better to simply say that these ones were leaps and bounds above the other corpses. The twenty of them had real physical power. Beings worth taking for the controller.

These insects located the correct openings and moved inside. They took control. Once the senses had been confirmed, they began to experiment with muscles and joints. The strength of these bodies was clear now. It didn't take so many to pilot such a simple thing, and yet from within they could crack stone, and even pose a credible threat to a Heroic Spirit.

Under the cover of camouflage cloaks made from their fellow Platoons, the worms drove their new vehicles onward.

Pied Piper(Caster)

Academy

All-out War

"I will see what I can do," The mystical bard humbly answered his master, and dematerialize in the air, knowing the task given to him.

Being Enzo's faithful servant, His orders are Piper's law by default. Just like how the faithful Jester of Hemilin serves his king for ages, Piper obeys without any question or receiving any gratitude for a job well done in return.
He remains unopposing and passive about it. This situation seems to be oddly familiar has its similarities and hopefully, this one has a pleasant outcome.

With the rat king's magecraft and item creation, he conjures tools that would aid Enzo's crusade in taking over the unruly rioters. An extra-edge if you, will to their performance in this takeover.

A charm that negates most of mental interference effects and magecraft alike, to level the playing field. This is the war of the people, not mages, let them have their pleasure of inflicting pain on each other. Let them fight with their heart's content, cuz that what humanity does, it's in their standard nature.

As an enabler of his Master's waging war against the Yakuza and the rioters, Piper has provided Enzo's pretty brunette lieutenant with chemical weapons that won't be able to trace back into him. Nothing grandeur of the black plague or anything, just enough toxin to infect people, introducing a tiny inch of chemical warfare to the land of the rising sun.

Serving as a distraction from this panic and disorder from the streets, guess what time is it for the Caster class? that's right, Its time to plot and turtle once again.

Oh, joy...

He raised his academy's defenses and has gather materials to create a rat brain that grows beneath his lair, its efficiency is not fully developed yet and hence he needs more time.

The karmic line seems to be in order. Now to check on the kids, or rather his batteries,

The abducted children scream with agonizing pain as their lifeforce is being succ away, tortured like a lab rat as their cries echo through the academy.

Caster just watches there, with a deadpan expression, unfazed by what godawful atrocity he is committing.

surprisingly enough, Piper doesn't take pride or glee in this horrific experiment for one second, He has to stomach on what he is doing for the greater good of things. The hardest choices require the strongest wills.

People will die from this war, might as well utilize them as a means to an end.

’Lancer Prime’

Ajax’s Grave, Foreigner’s Lowlands

“. . .Very well.”

Last request of a dying woman, even if she was someone he himself hated—what was a man to do in the face of such a thing? Furthermore, as far as he was concerned, she had paid the price for her transgression already.

Therefore, her form asking him for mercy, not for herself, but for someone else, was noted.

“If you must, at least die knowing I will fulfill that—!”

Ah, so that was meant to be her end? He supposed he should expect little else from opportunists like magi.

He supposed he should also have felt empathy for her plight at this moment.

He supposed—he should have felt great anger toward the thing that had robbed her of peace.

However, at most he could only muster a measure of annoyance that he had not been the one to snuff her life out with his own hands. Frowning, he glanced back at the interloper.

“Maybe not. Consider yourself fortunate that these were the circumstances you took her in—otherwise I would have had another target for my ire right about now.”

Speak of the devil, too. . .

The new arrivals were welcome enemies, but at this point, Achilles’ main worry laid with his Master, and so, he turned to break into a full sprint in her direction, and not a moment too soon. At the very least, he was confident in his ability to make it.

Achilles’ divine speed, which stood at the top of all heroes, was now employed toward the purpose of reaching his Master before it was too late for her.

Luckily, his fight with Saber had not drained him, and she was close by that, for all the difference it made, it might as well have been the teleportation that could be accomplished by a Command Mantra. Picking her up, taking note of the bruises and wounds, he decided—it was not time to continue fighting. At least not for now.

So he ran forward, out of the line of fire of the mortars that had been shot against them, lowering his speed to something still inhuman, but not able to turn Benita to mush from the velocity alone. Run, run, pass by the one who already is, the girl that had been his Master’s opponent thus far—and presumably the girl that was the late Saber’s Master, in a run of her own.

The odd thing was, how had a human managed to reach that sort of speed? Though it was not too pressing a matter at the moment. She was fast, but he was still faster so—

To begin with, passing her by, he was thankful for the small frame of his Master (though he would never say it to her face), since it allowed him to hold her easily with one arm, and use the other to get a hold of the girl he had sworn would see to safety.

He always was a sucker for dying requests.

“Don’t mind if I drop you both nearby, do you?”

And so, completely unphased by the two bodies, he continued on his path, reaching the edge of their base before leaving them both on the ground, gently enough in Benita’s case.

He frowned at the wounds once again, but his angry glare passed right over Sophia and was directed toward the church on the hill.

He was not someone that possessed the Clairvoyance Skill—but the quality of his eyesight was top notch, and he did not need to be able to count the number of cracks on the wall to make out the form of a stationary building.

“Play nice for a second, will you? I have something to do.”

Materializing his spear, he twirled it, holding it in a reverse grip instead of the stances he had used previously.

If Saber’s Master had listened to her dying moments, at least she should know he had agreed to the request, so he himself would not harm her unless she made to attack Benita again. No, this was meant for someone else.

“I’d try to find an appropriate line to use for the situation, but the truth is, my imagination’s running a bit dry.”

One step, two steps back.

“You see, my Master needs to get to bed, and this girl is someone that is under my protection right now, so what you just tried to do is in my list of things I take issue with.”

Holding his weapon parallel to the ground in his right—

“I’m in a terribly foul mood right now, all considered. So, Archer, I take it?”

—He broke into a sprint forward, faster than the eye could follow, reaching the highest speed before digging his feet into the ground and transferring all the momentum to the spear.

Fuck off.”

It left his hand with the crack of the sound barrier, the black spear followed a direct path right toward the source of the mortar shots.

Turning, he shot a glance toward his Master.

“Right. We are getting you into bed, by the way,” Almost absentmindedly, he gestured at Sophia. “You can come with, too. . .

. . .But you’ll need a hard hat.”

Archer of Lightning

@Breo@Phonic

Tesla watched the battle between Yamato and Achilles with interest, only because he was morbidly curious as to how the Greek hero would kill her. She dashed into Achilles guard to try and tackle him and Tesla sighed, it was over. And so Tesla began his preparations for the most daring shot any Archer in a Holy Grail War could ever make. He was about to try and hit a man in the middle of teleportation. Every possible route was calculated, every possible speed accounted for, Marksmanship activated, Quick Draw activated, Single Mindedness activated, any skill that could push Tesla's accuracy and speed just a little further, yet still this was going to be within the realm of the impossible. But Tesla was the man who brought Energy to the World, who gave the power of the Gods to Mankind, he was a Voyager of the Stars. Nothing was impossible for the Modern Prometheus.

But it wouldn't be enough, Tesla wouldn't be able to throw hard enough to reach Achilles in time. So he activated his latest invention. Energy hummed to life under his clothes, a faint outline of what appeared to be a metal suit glowing beneath his ornate suit. Tesla's clothes dematerialized, revealing what could only be described as a tuxedo made of metal and lightning. A glowing power core pulsed over his heart, he could feel the suit strengthening everything in him. His bones were sturdier, his legs could move faster, his arms could swing harder, every ligament, tendon, bone, everything in his body instantly becoming greater, every one of his physical parameters had been raised by a full rank at least. But still he continued, drawing upon the Leyline underneath him with his Galvanism as quickly as possible, flooding his body with as much as Mana as possible before he made his attack. All of this preparation took two seconds at most, Achilles was in the process of breaking Yamato's spine as Tesla finally came upon the perfect shot. It would have to be there, right before he reached his Master, every possible path converged there and only there. He would snipe Achilles in his heel, striking at the legendary hero's only weakpoint.

Lightning formed in his hand instantly, compressing itself further and further as Tesla tried to reduce it's drag, making it faster and faster. Every bit of speed would be needed if he were to outpace Achilles even with a headstart. Further, further, the bolt of lightning was the size of a 2 foot long needle. Another thing that should not be reached out for Yamato, now was the time.

Tesla swung as hard as he could, the bolt leaving his fingers with a sonic boom as it instantly reached mach speeds.

It was halfway there, Achilles was now nagging the thing as he looked towards his Master.

Seven eights of the way there, Achilles's foot touched the ground as he began his sprint.

Ninety nine one hundredths of the way there, Achilles was already halfway to his Master.

Tesla wasn't sure if he believed in God, but he prayed to every known deity that this shot land, Zeus especially.

Nine hundred and ninety nine thousand and nine hundred and ninety nine millionths of the way there, Achilles was but ten yards yards from from his Master, a mortar shot exactly two feet above her head.

Against all odds.

Despite being the fastest target to ever exist.

Despite the fact that he had effectively teleported directly to his Master.

The Archer of Zeus hit his shot.

Achilles fell to the ground instantly, forced to watch his Master be blown into chunks of flesh and blood right in front of him. Tesla held back the urge to fall to his knees, letting out a gasp of air he hadn't realized he had been holding. He had just struck down the fastest man to ever live.

Bridge, HMS 'Dreadnought', 3nms from Miyama Harbor

Continuing to maintain her perch on the bridge and peering on the landward horizon through her binoculars, Strategist felt a slight smile tug at the corner of her lips as, in the sea below, her assigned Marine detachment 'lowering away' and rowing towards the harbor's entrance. One boat had managed to make it to shore - having launched early while the others were being loaded and tossed about in 'Dreadnought's' wake - and its passengers were even now hauling themselves and their weapons out onto the berth and directing their assault towards the nearest occupied dock.

"It's quite beautiful, isn't it?" she wistfully remarked aloud.

A confused Captain Reginald turned from consulting his copy of the navigation charts. "Ma'am?"

Lowering her binoculars, Strategist inclined her head to her captain and remarked, "Our boys going ashore. A shame the Admiralty didn't think of reactivating the Royal Marines as a dedicated unit proper - they'd have been of greater help. Ah well, I suppose who we have right now - under the heading of the 'Royal Navy Division' - will have to suffice."

"They are, technically speaking, still Marines, ma'am." Reginald added. "Even if they have a different tag to their shoulders."

"Quite." Strategist nodded. "Well, now that we're on station, I want us moving at six to 10 knots per our patrol pattern. But don't stray us too far - I doubt Servants can walk on water before we can blink, but I'm not going to take that chance."

"Yes, ma'am. Erm, should I have Miss Carly-Beth brought up to the bridge to observe this operation? I think her odd little 'peculiarity' would be of assistance."

Strategist shook her head. "No." She quickly rethought. "Wait, yes, definitely. It wouldn't afford us to keep her in the dark on anything and everything; we'll need her input."

As the Captain dispatched an Ensign to locate and bring Carly-Beth "with the Admiral's compliments", and as more of the ship's launch boats arrived at the docks, spotters and signal lamp operators set to work broadcasting a series of signal flashes towards any ship in dock or trying to leave:

CIVILIAN SHIPS, CIVILIAN SHIPS, THIS IS A MILITARY OPERATION. REMAIN IN PORT OR ON PRE-AUTHORISED COURSE UNTIL OPERATION'S COMPLETION - YOU WILL NOT BE HARMED. ANY ACTIVE RESISTANCE BY YOU OR I.J.N. FLEET ELEMENTS WILL BE RESPONDED TO IN KIND.

REPEAT: CIVILIAN SHIPS, THIS IS ...

He nodded. The concerns and priorities were reasonable. He was moved to act similar to his servant, despite his servant in his own deep moment of important need. To marry, a most amazing experiences. Like a wraith the servants carried out with the leftover desires and regrets of heroes. Yet in this case were those regrets creating a transformation? A brand new possibility. What laid in the future even for these ghosts in the past was hopefully something beautiful.

What was less beautiful was the news that came in.

"Boss! There's a riot in our turf! You gotta do something 'bout it!"

A riot in the streets, a problem.

It didn’t need to be said.. “Saber. Go ahead and look for your sword, or go to the mountain.”

Well, he supposed there was one question he had to ask. “Tell my servant about where I can send those who need shelter.” Directed towards Gin, it was a branch of trust offered to the magus of the Fujimura group. He grabbed a bottle of that wine meant for his kind for the road and ran out, at speeds beyond human, ripping through the streets of Fuyuki towards the land that had been so tortured with the advent of the war.

Miyama - Man-made Disaster

People warring, fighting. They were scared, they were greedy, they were in danger. They had seen evils and terrors that tore at the lens that they viewed their peaceful world through. Exposed to the horrors of that fire, to the absurdity of that tree, the fright of that light that could have scorched the city, razing it to simple rubble and ash.
The blasts from a ship, the explosion from a lance. The already plagued Fuyuki was home to the destruction and sounds of a modern warzone.

A cursed fire, a falling world, a terrible storm, the blasts relating to a tree, the destruction at a railyard.

The five penalties that have been visited upon Fuyuki.

And from those five penalties were born evil. From those five penalties were born people who feared that they were being punished for no reason. If they would be punished then they would take their own destiny into their own hands. If they were punished then they would attain the sinful fruit that came from evil.

Know the power that gives birth to crime. See the scattering insects, so small, insignificant to the riches of gods.

Devour, devour, devour, devour. They devour each other not seeing the food in front of them. There is no path except the one walked on the corpses of others.

Evil that is shown, the town bathes in cruelty.

I don’t want it to be me

I don't want it to be me.

Let someone else be it instead.

A poisoning, a pot of hatred, of death. This world is a world of slaughter. Curse without reason, curse because they are there. Curse others so you’ll be spared. Punish others because someone must be punished that is not you.

It is ok. This is only reasonable.

Because it’s good as long as it isn't me.

Crashing glass, the cries of people as they fought, struggled and trampled each other. The scene that he arrived upon was in a sense a match for the horrors of the war that had been brought upon Fuyuki as a consequence of the battles between magi and Heroic Spirits.

Yet he felt his gut twist. The collapse of order, of civilization. A tragedy, an evil visited upon people by people. There was no grand villain that added each swing of a knife that carved into another person who refused to stand down and give up their possessions, their life, their dignity. Those who clung to the hopes that these events, like a bad dream would be washed away with the day.

Those who tried to keep their pride, those who did not wish to lose their lives beyond simply surviving. It was a most terrifying situation, it was a degradation of society that ruined a community beyond the simple loss of lives and death. It was a community rending itself apart. Neighbors were fighting each other, laying waste to the streets that they lived in, grew up in, and cherished. The bonds with each other, the connection to the city, the memories of the street were torn down, ruined. Eyes filled with a lustful greed broke down that which was around them into simple material value.

In other words they had thrown away beauty.

In other words they had thrown away being part of the community.

What was us became them, and others. This was not a town under assault by others. By the sheer virtue that this had happened at all. Even if no true damage occurred, even if no true tragedy came to pass. Even if it was stopped now it would leave a scar that would harm Fuyuki for decades. It was a most unwestern thing, it was a most tragic thing. Evils born of man, visited to each other. Yes, it was sad indeed.

That men’s hearts were driven to such desperation and fear. That these actions were indeed justified as lifeforms did not make it any better. After all humanity evolved beyond being simple living beings. Divorcing themselves from the planet they attained civilization, and progress. It was simple then. These people had lost faith in the light of civilization that spread across the world from the west. There were tragedies born of that as well, people conquering, visiting upon other cruelties to satisfy their convictions, their greed, their dreams. There were many terrible things in history. But built upon those massacres and horrors were the days of today.

Ah. He recognized some of these people. People he’s watched walk down the streets, people he’s seen in the various bars of Fuyuki. People who he saw living their lives peacefully, who struggled within society and for their own selves. Whether they lived at the most base level of modern humans, simply getting by payday to payday, moon by moon. The rare people who held dreams and reached for them. The people who wished to strive for more than what they were…

They were all in a sense beautiful, all living in a world that could only exist because of the various eras built on top of each other. Civilization, the line of a magus, a dojo. A line that built up and became grander and grander. Whether it faced the future or the past…

To abandon that was the greatest tragedy for a person.

The age of modern man with its great cities, of a global connected world had no need for heroes. But the people before him were no longer the civilians of the modern age. So he would, in this war filled with heroes stand in as a simple man, a simple horse and remind them of what they should be as the pale imitation of those heroes. Of a single individual who guided the many.

Even if that was through his fists.

Yet to simply strike everyone down to create order was counterproductive. So he devised a test.

Walking up to a group of people carrying out various goods from a shop, he suddenly tossed a fistful of grain and oats into their faces. Bewildered faces turned into expressions of anger as the looters began to bark at the foreigner man. Ah, these people were indeed just taking advantage of the situation for profit.

So he punched them.

“Eightfold Pathmaker!” [Nothing remains before the fist] - Twofold Edition (20% power)

A pulled punch. After all he was only subduing them.

They crumbled.

So he went on. Throwing oats and grains from his pockets and satchels at people to sort out those who he needed to punch and those he did not. To those he did not, he bellowed at them, bringing forth the imposing intent of a trained practitioner that was honed like a weapon, the strangeness of a horse and his earnest burning heart into his words. Directing them to safety. In this one occasion he would trust the Yakuza, he would trust the man named Gin.

Most of all in this case he would trust in the legend known as Chiron.

What lightened his heart however was the fact that he wasn’t the only one who was attempting to bring peace to this riot. A strange foreigner girl, extremely young and dressed more for a leisurely stroll than walking through the hellish Miyama-town hopped around with an innocent pure air. It reminded him of the homunculus in a way, although there was certainly a very human charm and element to her. Wearing glasses and a hat.

The people he confronted were left confused, almost dazed at times. But what was certain was that he lended a helping hand, and in her presence the activity of the looters came to a stop.

“Aha, you should come to this concert! It’s a big high-profile event!”

Indeed, the conviction and lighthearted nature of the girl was so at odds at the horrors around to the point that she began to paint over them. Yet there was something twisted about that lightheartedness also.

“It’s way better a target than this stinky pig-pen that’s got a bit too many weeds growing around. Thing have gotten pretty bad here haven’t they?”
Perhaps under that cheer was the equally as dark desire of sabotage or something. Or perhaps she was simply playing to their greed?

Prancing about with a baseball cap with a brand he’d never heard of before, and glasses that she seemed to be a bit awkward with, taking them off from time to time to rub at her eyes with a quiet whine that he nevertheless somehow managed to hear despite all the chaos going around them. Well, she was another foreigner that was helping out. Despite the cries of the Yakuza members that brought various mobs of organized looters, tied together by greed and given direction by the small inklings of patriotism. He was a galloping runaway stallion rampaging through crowd after crowd. If anything the incitement of the Yakuza simply made things easier for him.

“Haaah!” His fists lashed out, sending another person crumbling each time. A kitchen knife came at him in a wild slash that he intercepted. The wind whined as his left palm was thrust forth to meet the elbow of the man, redirecting and killing the momentum of his blow with his vastly superior strength. His right hand was not idle during this time, the efficient motion that lacked hesitation grabbing the face of the man, and slamming him down to the ground with its motion.

Men and weapons both flew as he disarmed and defeated crowd after crowd. At times they didn’t even have the time to react. One man fell, and before the man before him had the chance to see the lone horse who stood against their group a fist sailed into his face, knocking him into his companions before him. A brick thrown at him was shattered by a kick, men crying out as before the dust from the powdered block had the time to settle upon the martial artist, his arms swung into them, perhaps inelegantly clobbering them. With his size he was able to sandwich three men, pounding them together and dispersing his power through them all. While he left many aching bodies in his wake he did not leave anyone lame or mortally wounded.

A slash from behind was dodged, Tlilpojuan twisting to the side and bringing his elbow into the side of the man in an elegant motion. Swinging back like a pendulum he drove his fist into another foe.

Dozens after dozens fell.

The mobs were directed towards him, crowding due to the fright caused by the yakuza and gangsters that were beginning to settle into a stand off. Yet the awe and inhuman strength of Tlilpojuan struck as much dread in those who were pillaging the town. Driven towards him because it was not the certain death of opposing those who ruled the underworld of Fuyuki, or the foreigners who packed such deadly instruments of death.

The weight of Fuyuki’s discontent weighed down upon the Horse of Fuyuki.

There is a great witch that can bring shape and materialize various concepts. That witch was not here, but in a sense what he faced was something akin to that. The hordes of men that burned with greed unshackled by desperation and fear bearing down upon him.

Between him and that foreigner girl many of the more innocent civilians that refused to be dragged down into this misery and misfortune were directed to the safe-spot that he asked that man known as Gin about. While men looking for easier picks went to that concert the girl was talking about.

The crowds that should be thinning seemed to show no signs of stopping.

Well.

It was an entire town after all. Was this then the weight of a hero that had to move the destiny of an entire people? A pale shade of a divine crisis. What was wrought here was merely by human hands.

So solve it by human hands. If the current age was that of people, separated from gods and heroes then the people of that age had to show that they could solve their problems too. That was why he could not fail.

Saber.

No.

Roland.

We too have things to fight for.

So watch.

As you search for your own stolen glory watch. The ugliness of man, the cruelty of the world and the past that degraded and dragged them down to such a state. It is too much isn’t it? But despite that it had to be something that could be stopped by a person. A person that isn’t a hero, just a normal modern human. Perhaps a normal modern human was not something that could be applied to him he realized, in a sense. But there were others who ran around too. Like that girl, and like the yakuza. They were men of crime, and sometimes of evil. Yet a part of them worked for the good of this land, this community.

So watch us overcome this.

The people of this age aren’t so weak as to need heroes to babysit them for everything.

So look for your glory and marry your friend, your lover without fear. As long as it was a problem of the modern age he would be fine.

No, there was simply no time. Tesla stopped his preparations immediately, staring at Achilles as he saved his Master and the Whitehall. He truly was the fastest man alive, there would be no chance to hit him unless the conditions were perfect. Yes, he would have to catch the man off guard if he were to eliminate him from the war, in the middle of battle. Something to talk to his alliance about. For now though, he would defend his home. Tesla snapped his fingers, nothing happening for a moment as the electrical devices around him continued to buzz. The mortar cannons shook the air around him, the Tesla coils mounted onto the Church continued to buzz, the fence around him stood tall. Until the fence began to move. In an instant, a dome of pure electricity formed around the entire Church, what had once been a simple fence to keep intruders out was now a fortress of the storm. But it would not withstand an B+ ranked attack, Tesla knew that. So he did something peculiar. He weakened the fence's output just a tad.

The spear struck the fence, instantly breaking through with little effort. But the spear wobbled, it's course had ever so slightly been changed. Tesla had perfectly calculated where the spear would strike and weakened the fence in such a way that the spear would be directed to the left rather than straight at Tesla. But it wouldn't be enough of course, now instead of impaling Tesla it would just blow off the left half of his body. Yet still he was not done. The Tesla coils around him hummed to life, sparking and flashing as Tesla identified their target. An arc of electricity blasted out of them, striking at the spear's right side in an attempt to push it to the left just ever so slightly more. It was still not enough, Tesla would not be able to dodge it. He stepped to the right, calmly watching the spear fly towards him as the mortar cannon to his right fired one last time. The shockwave from the firing was the last push it needed, the spear missed Tesla and flew straight through the other side of the electric dome.

"That could have been bad." An understatement if there ever had been one. Tesla astralized immediately, reappearing in the Church near the Persian Master and the German Master with little fanfare. "You may want to recall your Servants, Achilles just attempted to attack the Church. I have driven off the first assault but we will need all hands on deck if he attempts to attack again more directly. I am not at one hundred percent yet." No time was given for a response as Tesla disappeared into his workshop, ready to work on his latest project. It was time to build the System Keuranos.

Somewhere in Fuyuki Park

"I love the smell of money, even in japan, it smells heavenly." Riyu giggles and takes a whiff of the stack paper bills around her hand for getting compensated by the man in the eye-patch, Their public service of infiltrating and getting rid of the notorious kidnapper around these parts. Jack mostly did the heavy lifting, while she watches from a safe distance and patiently waits for him, nevertheless, the result was successful and it was all a team effort from the thieves duo of this grail war(not really).

As an extra bonus, these culprits happens to be a master and servant pair who's participating in this war, a mad scientist, and his unknown master. I guess their security is faulty to let this happened. It is truly unfortunate really, Riyu is in tears.

She shrugs and moves on.

"I'll go to where the riot is at, sounds fun, you sit this one out Jack, I'll call you if I need any aid.. Enjoy you two lovebirds.." With that remark, Riyu walks away.

Oh, boy, the petite thief girl was in for a treat when she got there...

Everything is shit, Pandamonium everywhere! The hysteria of killing intent is almost contagious.

Foreigners have taken over in the most hostile way possible.

Shatter glasses, People running in this discord, Gunfire, and smoke.. Riyu smiles at the sight of chaos. Time to get in the action. She cracks her fist and neck and dives into the fray.

You wanna get nuts, Lets get nuts.

She smirks and sprints towards, Her vision enhances and activates her mystic eye, The pink girl only saw moving skeletons with her x-ray vision, every anatomy of their human being, showing their weak spots where they are most vulnerable.

She just wants to punch somebody, beat em to a pulp. Anyone who comes after the thief girl with blind rage will surely get paralyze from her swift strikes and punches. If these people were a magus, the result could be more devastating or even fatal.

She's mainly a chi blocker with the grace of a phantom thief.

Strike after strike, blows after blows, The nimble thief makes her way to a certain area where she met a particular magus. The hostile gang seems to be targeting the man in this brawl, time to even the odds.

She starts running towards them, limping the thugs around the horseman with her acrobatics, targeting their tendons with her precise punches, sweeping their legs in a fluid motion. Clearing most them as she makes her introduction.

"I like your style old man, Mind if i cut in and join in the fun?" She said with a playful smile, striking a defending pose."you're a magus aren't you?"

In The Woods, Southern Moor

Athánatoi Number 3001

Directed by that man he marched forth without fear in a batallion with a hundred more of his allies. In a sense they were unlike the men of that one general, being one of many, indistinguishable from each other. They held a willl and could easily meld together, yet could also become individual soldiers. The undying army that held a form that was not strongly defined. What shaped them then was the will of their Emperor.

Various pit traps were revealed by the careful poking of soliders, and the ground-shattering shots of Archer. At times boulders that rolled into their ranks were repulsed due to advance warning by the Athánatoi gathering and forming massive giants to push back against them.

Yes, thanks to the guidance of Archer things were going well.

Athánatoi Number 236

The snapping of bones, the whine of metal. Darts that punctured through them and broke them apart came from the bushes. Darts that killed invading soldiers. Laid by a heroic spirit by that virtue they were tools that struck as a mystery. Even with all their sweeps, various Athánatoi walking in one by one, they could not quite clear it all. No easy path existed and so each meter was gained at the cost of shattered soldiers, fading into wisps of ether as they felt the terror of the defiance of a hiding lord.

Athánatoi Number 7449

A most dangerous stretch of land that the Emperor certainly could not have discovered. Even if it was something that he would have figured out soon enough after the first wave of casualties, there was little he could do to find where this stretch of land that was hostile to those who advanced into the heart of this territory ended in a spot of respite.

But with the guidance of that man they knew. With that knowledge they crossed.

Giant towers rose into the ground. Macabre and yet prideful. They had no will and yet they held a sense of luxury and regality that carried the power of the Persian Empire. Giant pillars of bone and metal of soldiers clinging together. Thousands gathered to form a construct with their bodies, one that cast a shadow over the horizon of Fuyuki. Silently it arched, falling with a large crash that sent a powerful shockwave through the moor that ripped through the land and sent cracks and fissures that broke apart various traps, and drained pits of mud and quicksand.

But that was not its purpose.

The elephant of the Emperor crossed first, then came the rest of the soldiers. Holding the weight of the rest of the army, the bridge formed out of the Athánatoi.

The army was the might of the empire. The empire grew by supporting the reach of the one who stood as the man who reigned above it. It was only natural then it could support his march as a bridge.

Athánatoi Number 3862

It walked forward as a scouting party. Searching for the master, searching for the servant. Slowly they were mapping out the moor.

Number 994 disappeared. Number 13 found itself bashed to bits by a launched log.

It walked forward.

It also disappeared as the world became a murky brown as it sunk into the trap that hid a pit filled with water. As he fell his body crumbled at the holes edges and caused a reaction of the tumbling of rocks that buried him inside.

Number 3862 dispersed.

Athánatoi Number 391 disappeared.

Athánatoi Number 2501 disappeared.

Athánatoi Number 33 disappeared.

The numbers of the Athánatoi were whittled More than half of the army had faded away and the mighty elephant that Darius rode upon was now but a chariot pulled by two “horses” made out of a number of skeletons forming a mimicry of the beasts..

The invasion was by all means a most costly one, but also one that was going better than expected.

But-

There was a matter even more important.

He was the emperor. But the emperor had a cornerstone that he could not do without. His master. The situation at the church, of the Archer who was their ally who engaged in hostilities with that shining hero who was known as the fastest.

The heart of the war-effort of Darius was under incredible danger. Despite the losses that had be incurred, despite the fact that the battle was over he made to retreat. Taking his leave of the marsh. The Athánatoi left in the shame of defeat.

But defeat did not matter. As long as they remained, as long as he could rebuild it did not matter.

Leaving the land of Rider, Darius made to pillage a number of homes, taking cues from the riot that now rampaged through the city.

To recooperate and to be close enough to protect his master. The campaign was that of loss, but it was information that they could use for another invasion in the future.

Miyama - Man-made Disaster

"I like your style old man, Mind if i cut in and join in the fun?" She said with a playful smile, striking a defending pose."you're a magus aren't you?"

The question was one that had a simple answer.

“No.” he responded quite naturally as his elbow pushed a man down. To be a magus, one who chased after truth. One who reached for 「」. To be a spellcaster who used magic for a goal.

He was neither.

“I am a man who journeyed west.” His hand reached out and grabbed at the jacket of a man. Pulling about by the fabric he was used to bash into the body of another charging man.

An amused cry came him. “I guess I grew a bit old too. But I don’t feel it.” Years of eating, fighting, learning. Those years brought him the conviction and power to stand here now as the hordes seemed to gather almost as though they were an army. Those who were defeated, those who were scared off, those who struggled again and again.

The crowds retreated at times, they surged at times. The two had become a target indeed, and in a sense they wished to see them defeated. A sunk-cost fallacy. A symbol of opposition that they wished to take down.

It was insanity, and yet all too reasonable that they continued to target the two then.

“But I am a master.”

It was likely that with that question that she too was one, or involved with one. It was a valuable piece of information volunteered for free, so lightly, so casually, it was as though he were simply introducing himself.

“What about you?” His words floated above the chaos, spoken during the times of respite that they gained.

“I am a man, a horse. My name is Tlilpojuan. I am afraid that if you like my style... that you'll have a show of it to make even my disciple sick of it coming up."

Magus of Fist

"I believe you, hold one sec..."

"Hiya!!!" with a simple series of weave and a counter-attack, Riyu jabs a rioter's important parts with a flurry of chops, disrupting the flow of the mook's vital nerves, almost leaving the man paraplegic from her strikes.

"Your heartbeat didn't skip a beat when you told me about yourself."She pants and smiles at Tili, Casually ducking at the thrown bottle at the chaotic scene. Her mystic eyes can tell can if the person is lying since she can clearly see through their organs without any hindrances. A built-in lie detector if you will.

"I don't really know if I should be concerned about the horse part tho but it sounds interesting" She giggled before speaking again.

"Since you're being honest and all, i'll return the favor Tili, I'm too a master myself, The name's Riyu.." She said dodging a man with a knife, disarming him and kicking him in the sheen.

"Can't wait for my servant to meet up with your servant, I'm sure they'll get along just fine if that day comes.." Riyu smiled, oblivious to the fact that their servants had already met, in the most contradictory way possible back in the Foreign District.

"Anyways, I'm not here for the Holy Grail war biz, I was hired here to clean up these foreigners by a contractor to say the least," She said and continues to fight on the incoming frenzied men. They just won't end. It pandamonium in here.

"I don't usually have a fighting style if you will, i just target their vital parts and see what sticks, you, on the other hand, your like a kung-fu master, heh. As long as its free, i'm willing to learn a few of your tricks." Riyu said with a smirk, being modest and continues to enjoy herself on this brawl fighting alongside with the Tili, throwing hands whoever comes their way.

Night 3

The first thing it felt was hunger. Hunger it had never felt before, a sensation almost like something was gnawing on it’s very Soul. It needed to eat, it needed to stop this hunger before it consumed it completely. It needed needed needed to eat. It knew, it knew that if it didn’t eat it would simply cease to be, it would have no information to sustain itself. It needed to eat the Everything of others, it was the only way.

The world blurred by as it searched for food, hazy and unfocused as it relied on it’s unnatural instincts to find food. Red cut through the haze like that which cut through it. It was not so hungry anymore. It was quiet as it stared down at its meal, almost remorseful. It had been like the meal once, so fragile and tender. It felt bad for a moment. The poor woman hadn’t deserved it, but it needed to eat. It needed to eat to live. It smacked it’s lips and grimaced, the woman was a heavy drinker. It did not feel so bad anymore, it hated alcohol.

It sat down on it’s meal to think. It stared at the moon and contemplated it’s beauty. A waxing gibbous moon, one phase away from being full. So close to being full, so, so close. It felt like “death” itself almost didn’t exist. It didn’t remember being so close to the moon before, how could it have ever lived without it?

It thought about how the past three days have gone. It thought about how much it learned as it toyed with the dead woman’s fingers, breaking the bones one by one just to hear that satisfying snap. Did it always enjoy such things? It didn’t remember, but it certainly enjoyed the thought of inflicting pain now. It enjoyed a lot of things that it didn’t remember enjoying before.

It thought about how it felt right now. It felt so many things, it felt so much that it felt like its heart was trying to tear itself out of its chest.

It felt a sadness that it had never felt before. A sense of despair, a sense of loss. It missed it’s friend. It had never had friends before, it would never have friends again. Its friend had probably been the only person who it had ever felt entertained by, the only one who ever really understood and taught it. It would miss the fun times they had.

It felt rage. It had felt rage before, it had felt the hottest burning rage. It felt that kind of fury, the fury that made it want to kill. It wanted to kill that which took away its friend, that monster that had made it into what it was. For that thing could be nothing but a monster, no human could do the things that the beast had done. But it too was a beast, it had the power to fight beasts like itself now.

But most of all, it felt hate. It felt so so much hate. Hate for that which caused it’s loss, that object of it’s fury. It felt hate for all of humanity, it felt hate for that which humanity considered heroes. It felt hate for the beasts that tore through the city, it hated how they fought and killed everything around them. It felt hate for the city around it, the battleground that facilitated these beasts. It felt hate for the ritual that took place around it, for the ritual was the source of the worlds woes and its woes as well. It felt hate for how hungry it was, it was so so hungry. It hated being hungry, it hated humans, it hated heroes, it hated monsters, it hated beasts, it hated life, it hated hated hated hated hated hated

”Yes. I feel hate. I have never felt hate before, it is a good feeling. It makes my blood flow, gives me a reason to continue onwards.” Yes, hate is very good, it would hold onto this hate tightly, store it in its heart forever. It would recall this hate when it faltered, when it fell. When it was on the floor, bleeding and wanting to give up, it would hate. When it faced down fellow beasts and monsters, it would let itself be pushed on to victory by this hate. It would hate and hate and hate.

But for now it was bored. Hatred can really only occupy you for so long, something else is needed to fill time. Its hate simmered and faded, pushed to the back of its mind by a numbing boredom as it kicked its legs back and forth. Hmm, what should it do to stop being so bored? It hated being bored, but this hate was not good. This hate felt emptier, like a void which sucked all fun from life. Perhaps it should eat, eating could fill the void.

A loud bang echoed through the town, a small piece of metal embedding itself into the ground near its feet. Metal rattled against metal as it got up and turned around, watching its scared prey point something at it. Ah yes, a gun. A newer piece of technology, something it had never dealt with before. The young man holding the gun was scared, the fear was as bright as the sun itself. The way his heart beat so fast, the smell of piss staining the air, the sweat that glistened on his skin, it could observe every inch of his fear.

The young man opened its mouth, whether it be to issue a warning or beg for mercy it cared not. All it cared was that a meal was serving himself to it and it was hungry still. It leapt towards the man, another bang rang out through the night. Then silence. And then… the sound of a body hitting the floor.

It clutched the bullet in between the fingers of one hand and clutched the heart of the young man in the other. It clutched the tender organ with a sense of gentleness, raising it to its mouth as if to whisper a lullaby. Then it took a bite out of it like an apple. Delicious. It tossed the bullet away, embedding it into a building a few yards away as an idea dawned on it.

It snapped its fingers, animal like talons bouncing off one another, as its unnatural red eyes widened, filled with excitement. ”Yes, a way to act on my hate, quell my hunger, and have fun! How wonderful!” It clapped its hands together once like a child discovering something new, inadvertently crushing the sack of meat and blood between its hands. It did not care, it was more focused on finding a buffet. It spotted the Native District, engulfed in flames of the rioting people, undefended people who focused their own hate on their own hated things.

Sticky red blood clung to its clothes, giving the creature pause as it observed its clothes finally. It would have to get new clothes now, how annoying. It kicked the corpse, caving in its chest in annoyance. It briefly considered cleaning up after its meal, but it cared not in the end. Someone else would clean it up, someone else always did. It would be an unusual death, but it wanted people to see its work. It wanted that object of hatred to fear what it had made.

Yes, this would be the perfect way to spend the next few nights. Strike out at its hate, watch the life fade from their eyes and mock their efforts. Tear apart the ritual that had torn it apart, return to its- no. It would not return, it was not the same as it was before. It could never return to that life, not when it no longer held life. Yet another thing it hated, it has hated more in the past hour than it ever did throughout its span of existence. It was so wonderful.

And so it leapt into the native district, filling the night with the screams of the innocent and the rage fueled shouts of the oppressed. The Native District rioted with a monster in their midst, the Cursed Apostle would engrave his existence into the city known as Fuyuki. He would make them all pay. Ah yes, it was not an it. It was a he. He would make sure to never forget what he was again.

Evan Strauss
S.S. Dark Amazon, Harbor
@Red Alice @Art of Fun @Breo

Reinforced with the strength of his demons and the magecraft of the witch who would be traveling with him, the ship left port.

He took in a sharp breath, a self-satisfied grin spreading across his face.

Yes, after all, even if the Holy Grail War had yet to complete itself, he had little reason to stay here any longer. There was comparatively little to gain, and far too much to lose. In that sense, it was best to simply retire, to pack up everything, return home, and leave those participants of the war to their own devices.

This had all been beyond his expectations, truth be told.

He had obtained the funds needed to start his life's work.

He had obtained multiple familiars whose power exceeded even his greatest expectations.

He had gained an invaluable contact in the Clock Tower.

He had gained the business associates who had joined him in departing Fuyuki.

And, of course, he had gained something else.

Ah, it was such a pity, but he hadn't tried to convince her to come with him. She had a desire all her own, after all, so it was all he could do to fulfill his side of their business transaction before saying his farewells. Besides, he was always just a codec call away.

Beatrice
"I hope you come out of this alive. It'd ruin the celebration if I learned you died right after I left...Benita."

Well, no matter. What would happen would happen.

His eyes flitted over, looking to the false demons, the man-eating monster, the witch, and the necromancer.

He'd hoped that other one would have joined them, but sadly he seemed to have wanted to stay behind for now. Ah well, he knew how to reach them when he eventually decided to head out, so that would be fine in the end.

"Welcome to Dark Amazon, everyone."

Yes. After all, even if this was the end of his participation in Fuyuki's Second Holy Grail War, this was not the end of Evan Strauss.

"Let's get to conquering."

The Previous Night

“...well, I can't stall this fa' any longa. You've done enough. Let’s get to it. Rule numbah ninety-five, kid: concentrate.”

Chiron [Lily]
Invalid Spatial Coordinates
@Cu Chulainn

Space bent.

Around the pair, the world distorted, something else taking its place. For a moment, the image of a mountaintop cavern flickered over the environment, before a white plane took its place, extending out in all directions.

Archer stood in place, his expression a startling one for anyone who had interacted with him over the course of the war. His jaw was set, eyes glinting with a hard light that went against everything he had shown prior to that point. For just a moment, the shadow of something else stood visible behind him, stretching up into the whiteness before it faded just as quickly as it appeared.

“Let’s begin.”

His inflection was changed from how he had spoken since his summoning.

“Think about why you’re here, why you’re doing this. Maybe there’s someone you want to protect or avenge, something you want to create, something you want to destroy. Something you care about, something you despise. Maybe you want honor. Maybe you want to leave something behind. Maybe you just want to fight. I don’t care what it is, but decide on it now. That’s your tether.”

A hero without a tether is hopelessly weak. That is why a completed hero will certainly fall to an incomplete one, as the latter still has something to strive for. That is why the other ‘me’ is something I must stand opposite, as he’s lost sight of our tether.

To create “something beautiful”. To give rise to something worthy of being called the strongest hero. An impossible goal, but the one we chased after nonetheless.

And we nearly managed it. We exceeded what even our wildest imaginations were. That one, he approached the precipice, perhaps closer than anyone else. Nonetheless, he fell short, as he was doomed to.

...for after all, if you pursue the title of “strongest hero”, there is a wall you cannot cross. That wall is not something that can be surpassed. Indeed, it is impossible to overtake it. No matter how strong you are, every ounce of strength you gain will only make that wall stronger in turn.

Yes, for a hero, it is impossible to surpass him.

...but, that doesn’t mean it isn’t worth trying.

Because, even if you don’t have the potential, even if nothing currently exists in the world with the potential, that doesn’t mean that something with that potential can never arise.

A hero is someone who accomplishes the impossible, so...

-A word like "impossible" does not deserve to have meaning to us.

This war is a farce. Anyone who cannot recognize this is an incompetent. Even the simplest glance at the spiritual foundations of its participants, an examination of the line that connects those foundations to the ritual cornerstone, or anything along those regards can reveal the truth. While there may be a higher purpose that a true examination would be needed to garner, the “wish” promised by this is nothing more than the result of a sacrificial ritual.

Ordinarily, then, I would not be bothered. I would merely entertain myself.

...However, these eyes of mine have seen a future, a fraction of a fraction of a chance where I can reach something with that potential.

I am not someone who has given up on my tether, as that other fool bearing my name has. So, I must obtain the result of that sacrifice, in order to reach that chance.

As the god of Thessaly, on my forgotten name as ■■■■■■, I swear it: I will obtain that possibility. And so—

“Hold onto it. Because everything you’re about to go through is going to test how strong that hold is. If you let go of it, you’ll die.”

A solemn grin split his face. In spite of his words, there was something else there, the manic excitement of something that was fundamentally inhuman.

“That’s rule number one: Purpose.”

And so, Hell began.

Gin Yoshiyaki

Rule #1, Purpose

@Paradox Witch

Sitting with his legs crossed, Gin's eyes were closed as he meditated upon Chiron's first question. Purpose. The one thing that has alluded him throughout most of his life. Indeed, Gin had spent much of his life as a ronin, roving from place to place and using his skills when needed. He never really found a purpose for himself. Or, at least, not until he found Fuyuki.

To save Fuyuki echoed in his mind. Indeed, that's why he joined this war, after all. To save my boys also rung through his head. There was some sort of thing... some sort of freak killing his men, one by one. It was something Gin saw as his responsibility, his duty, to take care of it, knowing that the reason why his men are targeted is because of him.

And yet... he hesitated on speaking up. It made him angry that he did, but he just couldn't find that to be a proper purpose. Sure, he would be given the power to save his men, but what then? What would happen after that? Gin was aware that whatever he would choose, it would not only encompass this training, but the rest of his life to accomplish.

And if he saved Fuyuki, if he kicked out all these foreign intrusions, if he finally found that Holy Grail and kicked it right in its shiny blessed ass, what then? What will happen of him after? Will he just waste away, once again, without purpose? Will he continue doing the same thing day after day without really progressing anywhere from it? Will he continue living a life that he has since regret?

No, no he won't.

"Alright, listen up, Ite, 'cause you know I don't like repeating myself!" Gin stood up, his thumb pointing at himself aggressively, and with a fierce expression on his face. "Now, you've trained the fastest and the strongest heroes, have ya? Well, I have'ta ask you this, then! Have ya ever trained the coolest? I want 'ya to make me the coolest hero to ever walk Fuyuki! That's what my purpose is! That's what'll drive me to greatness! Gin is a juice and I'm a man, so let's get on with this training so I can finally kick some whitey ass!"

Saber: Sigurd, the Dragon Slayer

Finishing Healing the Sick And the Weary

It had been a spar, nothing more. Runes had taken care of things quite nicely, and his opponent had seemed to stomp off in a fury. Such was the nature of things of this particular thing. His opponent was strong, yes, a worthy test and opponent to be sure. But his priorities lied elsewhere after this. There was that riot and such details of it his Revelation told him of when using his runes to gain temporary "Clairvoyance" again, though the masters and humans were better left to it for now. There were civilians to assist in his line of work, for such was the job of a hero. Heroes brought salvation, they fought against fate, they brought miracles to bear. Such was the nature of a heroic spirit in general, such was their duty as proper heroes at least. Even the mundane-seeming tasks were of note.

So to this end, after the fight he'd gone over to where the train wreck had occurred. Using healing runes, he had begun to create circles or runes around the survivors to heal them in groups. Another servant seemed to be there as well, and the most Sigurd had done was ask him and Gudrun (if she weren't already out healing others too) to help ferry people into the circles after the people were stabilized first. Streamline the system. Create an order. Smooth transition of one group to another into his circles. Production line, a creation of humanity that would serve this situation well in the end with the application of ancient magic. An ironic thing, really.

For hours Sigurd tirelessly worked, his runic circles being used to heal otherwise, to get out old bodies from wreckage and respectfully lay them out and cover their faces as seemed to be a future custom for respecting the dead in these incidents. These people from the land known here as Japan, they didn't deserve this. He could know the right words to say to comfort them at times, his skill being useful for this, and by the time morning had cracked....the dawn overlooking the horizon.....Sigurd had done more than an army of modern men could have. With his own two hands he had even sorted wreckage out and repaired/strengthened the tracks as best as he could with his runes. Innumerable faces had been healed in groups in his circles, the dead had been placed to the side with respect away from the tracks near the scene.

And yet his determination never changed. His hands kept up their works. His mind kept on track. Temporary clairvoyance gained to be used along with his revelation was used a combo he applied once in a while to note the situation here and how things were developing elsewhere. There was a lot, but this city did not deserve to die. This bastion of human work had become something, only for the greed of dragons and such things to interfere. His pride as a hero meant he could not ignore this, the pleas of the common man here as well.

The call of the Grail was there, Gudrun was ever by his side again now, and he didn't even seem to break a sweat in his activities. To fight "that" man again would arrive, and many others had yet to be tested for their worthiness for the Grail.

But in the end, he had done his job as a hero, and finally now wrapping this up here would be a nessecity before he moved on.

"I think that about wraps up this disaster."

Nothing more needed to be said, really, at this venture.
