Bio
Born with nothing, Hadar was the only son of a small merchant family- spice traders caught on the wrong side of a raw deal, robbed, stabbed, and left for dead. A young Hadar was found and picked up by Tarlach Reyd, the head of a small mercenary company known as the Ironborn Free Company. Though picking up Hadar was an act of mercy, living with a mercenary company wasn't a free ride. even from a young age, Hadar was expected to earn his keep. As a child, that meant serving food, running messages, cleaning up muck. As he got older, those roles shifted to helping mercenaries don and prepare their weapons and equipment, and running arrows across the battlefield delivering arrows to archers. It was around this time, Hadar began his training as a soon to be warrior of the company.
Showing considerable promise as a warrior, Hadar proved to be quite confident with a blade, sporting both the strength and quick adoption of technical skills to make him a promising swordsman. When he turned 17, he joined the ranks of the Ironborn Free Company as a full fledged soldier, rather than a lackey. He fought alongside his stepfather, Tarlach Reyd for several years, and would eventually be considered one of the finest warriors in the company. Eventually however, the Ironborn Free Company's luck would run out.
During an job given to them by the Six Ladies, the Ironborn Free Company was ambushed and slain to a man, Hadar Reyd was gravely wounded and left for dead for the second time in his life. Hadar managed to half limp, half crawl his way back to civilization, and after some time to recover, set off on his own. For the last few years he's taken on the role of a sellsword, facing down man and monster alike- all for the right price.

A dwarven forged greatsword of high quality taken from the body of a slain knight. Well balanced and nimble, it is a fine piece of craftsmanship, though not incredibly unique. While once well decorated and ornate, a combination of sand and continuous use has shorn off any of its prettier and flashier accouterments.- Long Dagger - A simple, long bladed dagger for both close in fighting, and other utilitarian purposes.
- Tomahawk Axe - A simple multipurpose axe for both close in fighting, and other utilitarian purposes.
- Nomad's Armor - Tough and sturdy leathers supplemented by a thick coat of padded armor provides protection against cutting weapons, blunt impacts and the general wear and tear of travel with minimal maintenance while also allowing Hadar to stay mobile and on his feet. Steel vambraces, steel backed gloves, and steel greaves provide additional protection to Hadar's extremities without weighing him down too much. A nomad's cloak and shawl sits over his shoulders covering the ensemble. It provides adequate protection against human foes- which is all its really for. Hadar has seen first hand that all the protection in the world does little against the giant claws and tails of monstrous creatures, and as such favors mobility.
- Belt Satchel - A set of leather satchels at his sides carry a variety of immediately useful supplies: Twine, waterskin, travel rations, herbal ointments, a small bottle of spirits, rolls of clean cloth, and a spool of thread and a needle.
- Roshe, Travel Horse - A bulky, if somewhat slow moving and dimwitted horse, this serves as a combination beast of burden, riding animal, and travel companion for Hadar.
- The saddlebags contain: A pair of leather waterskins, a hunting bow along with a quiver of arrows, a tinderbox, lines and tackle for fishing, a small iron bowl for cooking, a small hatchet for wood gathering, a small knife and whetstone, a length of rope (approx. 30 feet), a pouch of herbs, an oil lantern with a bottle of spare oil, a few days worth of provisions for Hadar as well as his horse. Behind the saddle is a blanket and spare clothes are wrapped in a roll of canvas.
Skills and Abilities
- Swordsmanship Expertise - A former member of the Ironborn Free Company- a mercenary company hailing from the sands of Roh, Hadar was immersed in a brutal, warrior's culture from an early age. The fighting techniques learned in Roh are a mix of instinct and specialization with small numbers of weapons. The result, along with a decade of practical experience, are techniques and methods that are unorthodox but effective, catching many a more stringently trained foe offguard. Despite choice of weapons, Hadar is a surprisingly nimble combatant, and when aided by magic is a deadly foe.
- Tracker - A hunter of monsters and men. Primarily a hunter of demons and monsters, Hadar is a talented tracker and fighter, and can adapt to a variety of different and constantly changing situations, as the profession of hunting down these such creatures might entail. In a way, these techniques can also be applied to humans and other mortal races- who are slightly easier to predict than monsters.
- Demon Heritage - Hadar's demon blood traces back to a line of Wind Demons. While his latent powers are considerably more muted when compared to that of his forefathers, Hadar is still able to tap into this ancient blood. When tapping into this power, gusts of wind whip around Hadar, pushing at his back to move him faster, and granting him more dexterity. Also, his sense of smell is considerably more acute than the average human.
- Basic Magical Prowess - Possessing a modicum of magical talent, Hadar is able of casting simple spells. Among other abilities, Hadar is able to create small flames for light, lift small objects, and dull the pain (but not heal or remove the source) of smaller injuries. Offensively Hadar can create small blasts of wind to unbalance opponents and bright flashes of flame to disorient.
- Herbology & First Aid - While not an incredibly talented apothecary or herbalist, Hadar has a solid idea of how do find and gather common herbs with medical uses for basic purposes. Combined with basic knowledge of using alcohol and clean bandages allows Hadar to perform basic first aid.
