After hearing what the guy had been saying and looking at the faces of the other students in the room, she noticed one girl stepping up and creating a small blue flame. She decided that she was curious to see what she would be capable of, so trying to hide her fear of what would happen if she did what the other girl did, she stepped forward with the same bright smile as always. She searched for the card and talisman that had her name on them and first read the explanation. It was talking about making contracts with spirits to be able to control the weather. Happy as she was that her power would be something to do with nature - as she loved to be outside all the time - all the fear was flowing away, out of her body.

She took a deep breath and did what she had to do. Her body was quite sensitive to the pain of a needle, but she was strong enough to ignore it. Her hand held the talisman to her chest like what was asked of her. Some kind of itchy pain was going from one body part to another. Her breathing got heavier, this wasn't something to enjoy and she didn't like the feeling she got. It made her body fill with fear again. What was that feeling? When would it go away? When she remembered that she was in a room full of other people, she made the same old smile appear and thought to herself that she had been warned about this and that she needed to be strong. Then finally the pain started flowing away which made a strong and cold wind blow to the room. She was shocked herself because of this, but she noticed that when she started calming down that the wind started becoming calm. So she was able to make a wind appear? It made her remember something from the past, a memory where something similar happened. Would she ever be able to control this power?

Aiden Cross

After he witnessed the club president showcase his abilities, Aiden was no doubt intrigued. The mere thought of everyone in this room possessing some sort of mystical power baffled him. Although many of the things Saito had said did worry worry him, Aiden was honestly mostly looking forward to seeing what power he and everyone else would get.

He looked around the room to see if anyone was going to go up and collect their talisman first. When no one seemed to move, Aiden raised from his seat before being interrupted half way by a girl who got up a second before him. He was left in an awkward air chair position then slumped back comfortably into his seat. Despite his eagerness, he stayed seated and waited his turn. While tapping his foot in anticipation he watched the pretty girl with raven hair find and use her talisman. When the girl activated her powers he watched in amazement as the azure flames emerged from her hand. He still couldn’t wrap his head around all this. He found himself so caught up staring at how the flames swayed that he forgot to get his own talisman. Another girl with a smile as pure as gold got up and got a talisman before him. Aiden once again waited.

When she was done, Aiden shot up from his chair, making sure no one got up before him and bounded towards the stack of talisman. His talisman sat at the top of the pile waiting for him to collect it. He picked it up and flipped it over. His eyes eagerly skimmed the text:

Long ago, the daughter of an onmyoji alchemist carried on her deceased father’s legacy by drinking a brew she received from him. The brew gave her the ability to alter the characteristics and properties of inanimate objects that she touches. Her descendants were called the onmyodo family and were thought of as superior beings thanks to the extrordiary power of their ability that passed through generations. However, the further down the genetic line you go the less common it became to have this power in your blood. Nowadays almost all of the onmyodo no longer possess this power and those who do usually don’t realise it.

He guessed his ablility had something to do with altering things. Aiden grabbed a pin and winced as it pierced his finger’s skin. He followed Saito’s instructions and placed the talisman on his chest using the pierced finger. A foreshock shivered through his body before an electrifying sensation jolted through where the talisman was pressed to his chest. The feeling waxed and each jolt traveled further and further. It felt like a bad itch that you just couldn’t scratch. Aiden found himself slightly shaking when the itch turned to a light burn. His heart beat increased as the shocks grew in power. He took in a shallow breath and was about to break a sweat until it was suddenly over.

Aside from the lingering tingling feeling, he felt no different. Just severely discomforted. He looked down at his free hand and everything seemed normal there. He still the same five fingers and palm. Confusion swept over Aiden. Wasn’t this supposed to be more eventful? Why hasn’t he felt anything? He removed the talisman and put it in his free left hand to examine it. Once the talisman and his left hand made contact, the talisman suddenly became nearly as heavy as a brick. “Woah!” Aiden exclaimed as he nearly dropped the talisman. He readjusted his handling to accumulate the extra weight. Aiden furrowed his eyebrows in confusion and pursed his lips. “What’s going on... Did I do that?” He raised his eyebrows and stared at the talisman with glossy bewilderment as his lips parted slightly. He did that.

"Cute?" Suzue mused lightly as the lively boy walking on his hands winked at her. If her siblings heard him saying that, he'd be in for a rough time. The little dears were so silly sometimes. Well, that was neither here nor there. Suzue patiently waited for the others to express their concerns. Most were similar in nature, though a few made a few other good points. Alice seemed completely nonchalant about this whole thing, though. How cute. She might need someone to watch her if this was in fact, real on some level.

The 'proof' that followed was enough for Suzue.

The explanation over, Suzue walked over to the end of the table where the talismans were. Finding the one with her name on it, Suzue ran her hand over it and eyed it curiously. She could hear her heart beating in her chest nervously. If this was real, then that mean she'd likely end up fighting other things. That was not something she was extremely keen on doing. Still, with all the explanations given, she'd be remiss to turn this ability down. If she could even protect one person...well, then there was no need for hesitation. Flipping the talisman over, she read it.

"Jorōgumo are a type of shape changing Yokai that either takes the form of a beautiful woman or Joro spider. Most in folklore are malevolent by nature. Tricksters that use their cunning beauty to lure prey to feast on them. Folklore isn't entirely clear on their abilities, but what is known is that they can weave magical silk as strong as steel, communicate with magical fire-breathing spiders, and are sometimes associated with water as in the folktale of Joren Falls."

Did that mean she was one? Was that what this meant, that her Mother was one? Or did she simply have that sort of ancestry in her. In either case that would explain a lot, really. Hm. Looking around at the others, it seemed they were already manifesting some of their abilities. Nova seemed to have created a small blue flame in her palm. Alice seemed to have control over the wind or some such, and Aiden seemed to have trouble lifting a simple talisman. Well, might as well join in on the fun!~

Grabbing a needle, Suzue pricked her pointed finger and quickly placed the drop of blood on the talisman before holding it to her chest. Closing her eyes, she focused on the talisman. It started making her skin crawl. The feeling of something crawling on her skin, up her legs and towards the talisman. An unpleasant sensation for some, she'd imagine but for some reason it felt oddly natural to her. Wasn't really any different from the times when she played with Muffin. The crawling was followed by a muffled, muted feeling, as though she was having trouble breathing. Like something was tightening around her chest and lungs.

And in the next instant it was gone.

Looking at her hands and the rest of her body, nothing seemed too out of the ordinary. Glancing at a few of the others again, she noticed them getting used to their new powers. Taking a look at her hands, she frowned slightly. Seemed like something should have -

"Oh my..." Before she could say anything else, a small stream of silk liberally painted her face with the webbing like a certain unnamed american comic book character that shall remain unnamed. "Well this is...certainly interesting. I did not imagine when I came here today, this would be my activity." She giggled in a perhaps mildly suggestive manner, pulling the sticky white substance from her face. It didn't seem too useful at first glance, but if the threads were magical and as strong as steel, that could be very useful if she could practice with it.

”Alright, that was a good waste of a basketball. You have me convinced. I’ll join yer gang.

Akira winched a bit at the smell of burning rubber and the after effects of shooting lightning in doors. His ears were still ringing after the roar of thunder that followed even with the lightning bolt being rather small compared natural lightning, Akira still picked his ears in irritation, he always had better senses than his peers and was often compared to a blood hound.

”Also could you given us a warning to cover our ears before going all Chidori on our asses, I’ll think I might have gone deaf after that, so thanks for that ya damn Electric Eel.”

Akira was obviously using hyperbole as he was still able to get the basics of what he president was saying, Akira got up and walked over to the table of talismans he quickly found his as most were already taken and used, by the other members. Akira turned his talisman around slightly curious at the supernatural explaination of his strength.

Akira Yamamoto, bloodline of the Oni-

Akira stopped reading after the word Oni, since that’s all he needed to know. That and he didn’t like reading. Akira mimicked the other members of the club or at least tried to, as he attempted to poke his finger with the needle, he would find that the needle didn’t pierce deep enough for it to draw blood and as he tried to put more force into the needle, the needle would bend thirty degrees instead of piercing his skin.

”Ah, screw it.”

The delinquent would put his thumb in his mouth, right under his sharp canine before biting down on it and drawing a stream of blood before drawing a red line over the talisman and putting it near his chest like president electric eel said. Akira closed his eyes and he could feel something from the talisman flow into him, but it felt a bit half hearted and a bit weak, probably because he already ‘Scratched the Surface’ It flowed into his veins and through his blood making it’s way around his circulatory system, until it reached his heart in which the talisman’s power would suddenly stop, as if it hit a wall at 80 miles per hour dispersing into eight directions and eight pieces.

”Eh, was that supposed to- Ah, whatever. So, want me to follow everyone else’s example and do an demonstration, Electric Eel President?

Of course it wasn’t really that difficult to guess what Akira’s power was, he was an Oni or at least had the bloodline of one. Even without his unnatural abilities he basically had since birth, it wasn’t to hard to guess that he was basically what people would call a brick, he could hit someone really hard. Since Oni’s are mostly known for their strength. Akira took a tissue and rubbed away the blood from his thumb, which had stopped bleeding some time ago.

Akio Nagasawa

Akio watched in amazement Saito showed them the proof. His eyes had dancing lights in them and his ears were still suffering from the aftershocks of the loud thunder, but his mouth was slightly open in surprise, his eyes wide in wonder. Before the first student stood up to grab a talisman, he managed to snap his mouth shut, relaxing his posture so he could watch as one by one, the students were seduced by the promise of power. Not that he was any better, really. He curiously observed as students manifested various powers, some more obvious than others. The exception to this was the blonde delinquent teen who had already awakened his, and Akio realized that it must be some form of super strength, as evidenced by the male’s previous violent entrance. So that’s what he had meant when he said he used too much....

Still, Akio couldn’t help but notice that what the students unlocked were mere parlour tricks in comparison to what Saito had demonstrated. Presumably, they could train and grow this…ability – their president had mentioned something on that account, hadn’t he? Something about setting up a portal? Well, whatever it was, Akio was satisfied with all the answers the older teen had provided. He was quite wary of whatever they might face that they needed such supernatural abilities, but nonetheless stood up when then was less of a crowd and went to find hid talisman.

You inherited the ability of telekinesis from a long line of spiritualists, though the latest known users to manifest a similar talent that were also your direct relatives were your grand-grandparents. They even had a temple, though it passed from your family’s possession some decades ago. Despite that, you have been (un)lucky enough to receive this power. Use it well.

“And how could you possibly know something like this?” Akio asked Saito with a frown, waving the talisman in front of him to emphasize his point. “The work of your psychic too?” Without really waiting for an answer though, he pricked his left index finger with the provided needle, let the blood drop onto the talisman, and held the item to his chest. A very strange sensation, like experiencing an energy current beginning to run through him while also being subjected to an uncomfortable pressure from both the inside and outside of his body. The pain was most obvious in his head at first, though the thudding ache soon spread everywhere else. Eventually, it slowly began to dissipate, and Akio opened his eyes in relief. As soon as he set his gaze onto the talisman, it floated – floated! – into the air, then returned, as easily and lightly as if it were a feather, back to his palm. So that was a part of his new mind powers. Well. Alright then.

“What now then?” he once again turned to Saito with a question, though with more politeness than he had expressed on some of the previous occasions. “Is there something else for us to do today or are we done? Oh, and I’ve just remembered, but what are we supposed to tell our parents? Since this club is the only reason we’ve been invited to this school. And they’re not exactly supposed to know the truth, I’d imagine.”

“I’m telling my parents either way. They already know about all this stuff so I’ve got nothing to hide; I’m not going to lie to them.”

Stepping up next Sora picked up one of the few remaining talismans and held it in front of him, not really looking at it at all as he thought over everything he had just heard. It seemed that the supernatural world was a lot larger than he knew; even knowing that everything he had seen all these years was real, he only ever thought about the supernatural in terms of the little lights he would see in the forest at night, or the dancing dragon he saw flying over a placid lake, or the old smoke spirit who had someone made its way to being part of his family tree.

But the supernatural world was larger and more dangerous than that. He knew that sometimes monsters attacked people, he’d read about demons and ogre and about trickster foxes and malevolent spirits. His parents had warned him not to wander too far into the forest and night and never to follow one of the lights no matter how enticing they looked. But 1 in 1000 was already a number far higher than anything he expected; 1 in 3 was terrifying to think about. Turning over the talisman Sora read the short blurb on the back.

Enenra are the personification of smoke, born from the fires lit by farmers to dispose of the remains of their harvest, they manifest as faces in the wisps of smoke that rise up into the air. Thought to have some relation to Lord Enma, the judge of the dead, it is believed that Enenra may actually be the spirits of the dead rising along with the smoke to the afterlife, or perhaps acting as guides for the departed.

It was nothing that he hadn’t heard before; you don’t just tell a child he is descended from a Yokai and not expect him to read everything he can about them. Sora also wasn’t sure if the accuracy of their psychic was a good or a bad thing for him. For now he supposed it meant whoever had made this talisman for him at least knew what they were doing.

Placing the paper on his chest Sora didn’t feel anything at first. No strange tingling, no rush of power, no burning pain in his souls. He didn’t feel anything. In fact, he couldn’t feel anything at all. It was like his body didn’t exist anymore, not quite numb but somehow senseless in a way that was hard to describe. Airy and insubstantial, like a sudden breeze would carry him away and he was surprised that he hadn’t already floated off. As suddenly as it had begun the feeling subsided and he could feel his body again, though it now felt somehow heavy and restrictive in its solid presence.

Letting out a deep sigh the air in front of Sora was quickly filled with a cloud of thin smoke, wispy tendrils floating up in front of his face and already beginning to disappear. He waved a hand in front of his face to dispel the cloud, wondering at the fact that the room now smelt like the familiar fragrance of burning wood.

“I guess that makes sense.”

Ayame Masahiro

Ayame flinched as the basketball went flying across the room in a smoldering mess. She looked at the president in awe. If he ever hit a person like that... she shuddered even thinking about it. But, it seemed his demonstration and further explanation had won over some of the more skeptical members. Ayame was certainly convinced that this was legit, but the prospect of fighting monster was still pretty scary to her. However, as her fellow club members went up to grab talismans, she began to feel excited. After performing the instructions, everybody did something amazing. A plume of smoke, a gust of wind, levitating objects. Saito sat at the desk, undaunted by all of this. Were these things seriously normal to him? Either way, after seeing everyone around her, Ayame couldn't hold back any longer. She took a breath, marched up to the desk, and grabbed her talisman.

Kitsune are crafty foxes that can be either benevolent or mischievous. The longer they live, the more power and wisdom they acquire. There are legends of kitsune growing as many as nine tails, denoting its great power. Kitsune use a pale blue flame called foxfire to create illusions and ward off their enemies. It is also possible for kitsune to possess a host...

Is that what happened? Was she possessed by the spirit of that dying fox she saw? And it didn't say what kind of powers she would get from the spirit. Would she wield foxfire? Well, she had the means to find out right in front of her. She pricked her thumb, smeared a drop of her blood in the center of the talisman, and held it to her chest. The room went quiet. She couldn't hear or see anything around her. She would have panicked were it not for the calming warmth blanketing her body. I will protect you. The voice boomed in her head, coming from nowhere in particular, and then just as quickly as it all began, she was back in the classroom watching her classmates experiment with their new powers. She held her hand out in front of her, wondering how she would even go about using her powers. Then she felt a nip at her ankle.

Ayame jumped and looked down at what bit her, and she saw a tiny orange fox looking up at her. Her eyes widened. She stared at the fox; the fox stared at her. "Oh my gosh, he's adorable!" She went to go pick it up, but it nimbly leaped just out of her grasp. "Wait, don't run. Are you the voice I heard? We'll be working together so we should try to get along." She reached out to the fox again, but it hopped to the side. It looked up at Ayame giving her -- was that a smirk -- and then darted about the room, hopping from desk to desk, showing off its speed and agility. Then, it disappeared in a puff of blue smoke. Ayame stared at the now empty air with a bewildered expression.

Saito Ryuuji

Once everyone had a chance to try out their new powers, Saito cleared his throat and called for everyone's attention. "Alright, you guys got a good taste of what you can do. I'm glad to see you're all on board. I think it should be obvious that you are not to use these powers to hurt humans. If you're having trouble controlling them, by all means ask for help, but anyone who deliberately tries to hurt another human with their powers... well, let's just say it won't end well for you." He looked over at Akio, who seemed to have no shortage of questions. "You're free to tell your parents whatever you like. But don't go flaunting your powers needlessly. Basically, just use your heads and try to be discreet. However, there is one more thing I had planned for today." He hopped out of his chair and looked around the room. "You guys are gonna take your powers for a test drive."

"We've let something loose in Yume Park. It's a harmless little thing. It has no interest in hurting anyone. However, it should give you rookies a run for your money. We're gonna go to the park, you guys are gonna try to catch it, and I'm gonna watch. Sound like fun?" He gave a small laugh, packed up his things, and then headed out the door. "I'll meet you guys there," he called over his shoulder as he left.

She was quite surprised when she heard the announcement of having to catch an animal outside and it immediatly made a big, bright smile appear on her face. Finally they would go outside, something she had been thinking of ever since she came to the club. It was the best thing he had said until that moment. She turned herself to the rest of the group and looked around. "So are we leaving? I am tired of this room, let's go the park!" She was looking forward to going there and to learn how to use her 'new' powers. Her eyes moved to take a look at her hands. The wind that blew through the room after she had put the talisman to her chest was still in her memories. It was the perfect power for her, weather manipulation, as she loved to be outside. It was so perfect that she wanted to be able to control it. What would she be able to do after she had complete control over the weather?

While waiting for everyones replies on what she had said, she heard some voices inside of her head. They were arguing about something, something that had to do with her. "What are you arguing about?" she thought, hoping that they could hear it, and she got it right, because she got an answer: "If we should tell you and introduce herself, but they are right. We should wait until you're a bit stronger to handle the secret." And with that sentence they disappeared. She was a bit weirded out by what had happened, but soon focused back on the other people in the room. "So? It's going to be a lot of fun!"

Aiden Cross

A girl radiated warmth as she talked. Aiden couldn’t help but catch her excitement, it was seriously contagious. Although a lingering worry still stayed somewhere deep in his heart. The other members seemed to have some sort of control over their powers already whereas Aiden didn’t even know what to make of it.

He looked down at the heavy talisman he had now abondoned on the floor. Could he make it light again? He picked the talisman up with his right hand and it surprisingly weighed just as it had when he first took it from the table. Huh. When he switched the talisman to his left hand, it turned blue instead of gaining weight. He touched it with his right hand and it turned to its original boring palette. He repeated the action of switching the talisman between his hands a few more times. Each time the talisman touched his left hand, something strange, like changing colour, happened to it. His right hand always canceled his left hand’s doings when it touched the talisman.

He was starting to understand how his powers worked though he wasn’t quite sure how to make the talisman do something specific. Although he wasn’t quite sure how useful this would be in capturing a spirit, he was still eager to try. ”What’s everyone waiting for? Me and Alice can’t be the only ones eager to try out our new powers right?” He said with a smile as he faced everyone.

"Ahaha," Suzue laughed quietly. "It's good that everyone is so excited, and while I'd love to join all of you." She replied, shaking her head tiredly. "I need to stop home first. I need to make sure my siblings are being behaved." Also, she kind of wanted to change out of these clothes. If she was going to be crawling through a park or rough housing with the others, she didn't want to get her good clothes dirty. Picking up the rest of the brownies, she grabbed one herself and took a bite out of it before closing the container. "I will be at Yume park soon." With a friendly, warm smile Suzue left the classroom, intending to head back home for now. Curiously, she looked at one of her hands again as she walked, frowning lightly. Jorogumo, huh? She'd gotten involved in something dangerous, hadn't she?

Ah, how tiring~

For once in her life, she'd like to not have something to worry about. Oh well. Maybe she could have a bit of fun with the others in the club...

”Doesn’t even have the common decency to lend anyone money for public transport.”

Akira criticized the president, though that didn’t mean much come from him, whose usual shtick was taking people’s money for public transport and taking a motorcycle... though how he knew how to ride a motorcycle he would usually answer with screw the police. Though speaking of figuratively screwing the police he had to go to Yume park... Now he had no idea where that was, but he knew his parks, mostly from trashing them and loitering around, but he knew his parks. He was pretty sure he could just find it on just relying on his gut feeling.

”Well I better take the other’s cues and get out of here.”

The delinquent crumbled the paper into a red white ball and threw it into the recycling bin with an upper hand throw, though it came out more of a baseball pitch becoming a white blur as soon as it left his hands and in a split second and crashing into the bin causing it to spin around on it’s rim, before settling down. Without wasting any time he walked over to the windows with big thumping steps, before sliding back the windows... And then jumping out.

Akira landed with a loud thud and sent a cloud of dust fly from his feet sent from the impact. Akira brushed himself off, without a care in the world and then proceeded to walk off into a random direction.

Aiden Cross

Aiden looked over at the window Akira had just jumped out of in slight concern. Although he seemed like a tough kid, the thud made it sound rather painful.

I should get going too, Aiden thought. He pulled his phone out of his pocket to check the map to figure out where on earth Yuma Park was since. He wasn’t very familiar with the city. The phone notified him that Yume Park was luckily only a good walk away. “I’ll be walking straight to the park,” Aiden advised the group of remaining memebers, “I’ll be leaving from the front of the school so feel free to come with me if you’d like” He said making a start for the door. He waved at the students in the room “Bye!” He said smiling.

He left the room and slowly walked out of the school, just in case someone wanted to catch up to him.

She was still a bit shocked that three already left on their own instead of going together, but the feeling of excitement that they finally could go outside was bigger and completely controlled her. She got a lot of energy and went to follow Aiden fast. She came from behind him and almost jumped onto him from happiness. "Hey Aiden! So we're going together? I'm so excited !!"

She went to walk beside him at a slower pace and looked in front of her. "I'm going to learn to control the weather, how cool is that? I love nature and now I will be part of it, I guess! But who were the voices in my head a couple of minutes ago?" she thought to herself.

“So much for being discreet.” It might not be as flashy as throwing lightning bolt but a student leaping out of a second storey window was sure to garner some attention should anyone still be around to see it; maybe their club captain should’ve spent some more time going over the basics before throwing them in the deep end like this.

A couple of the other students had already left in a hurry, while another made enough of a show about his slow exit that it was clear he was inviting others to join him. Sora meanwhile still wasn’t sure if he was going to stick around for this club; he didn’t care about powers when he had no use for them and he didn’t care about finally finding camaraderie when his uniqueness hadn’t prevented him making friends back home. He did, however, care about the risk to innocent people; regardless of his callous words earlier he did care about that. The only thing holding him back was not knowing whether or not he could trust that this club was actually what it claimed to be.

This little test in the park was something he could stick around for though. It would be a chance to get an idea what kind of threat they were dealing with and whether or not he would even be able to do anything about it. If he didn’t like what he saw, there was always the option of quitting and going back home.

Hurry out of the classroom Sora quickly caught up with the two students who had just left; if he was going to do this, he might as well get to know his fellow club members, temporary though they may be.

Akio Nagasawa

“Hmmmm…” Akio hummed noncommittedly. He had already decided he would not tell his parents. They would worry overly much. And might not believe him. I’ll have to think up of something good about what a ‘Hunter’s Club’ in a school might do…Something to do with temples, maybe exploring them, or some such. Could be believable enough I suppose. I hope. He frowned lightly in distaste when their club president let them know about the group activity they were to have in a park, however. They didn’t even know each other properly! And they were expected to work together to catch something? And a harmless something? It better not be an intangible spirit. Akio grimaced – he could imagine easily enough how this disturbingly sports-like event might progress. Maybe he could just test his powers on whatever it was they were supposed to catch from the side-lines.

He loitered around in the classroom, waiting for the most eager ones to leave. He couldn’t help gaping in surprise when the blond delinquent boy jumped out of the window. Jumped out of the window! AKio shook his head in disbelief, thinking to himself that this was the kind of thing he’d have to get used to soon. The supernatural not only existed but was now part of his life. He then turned to stare at a most excitable pair, Aiden and a cheerful girl Akio had pegged as an airhead. Akio had an inkling he should at least try to get along with everyone, but people like that…they were just- too much. Too loud, too intrusive, too friendly. As the kind of person who warmed up to others very slowly, the people who were so overtly sociable were the ones that, in his experience, were better avoided, at least in the beginning, while they searched for like-minded individuals to flock to and group up with. And after they had their own little popular clique, Akio could have his peace. Though how this would work inside of a club, where group activity and co-operation was expected, he couldn’t quite imagine. On that note, why had the club president said he would only watch? Did- did he need to do that to know how to lead them better? Or would he just take on the role of an examiner, assessing how they dealt with novel situations?

Akio sighed, and after gathering his belongings, quietly exited the club-room, avoiding being caught up by anyone seeking easy companionship. He was curious to see that the boy who had seemed just as solitary as himself, if not more, ran after the rambunctious pair. However, he did not change his mind on joining the group and went his own way instead. On the way to the Yume park, Akio made a short stop at a convenience store. He bought something small and cheap to snack on, a bottle of cool water, and a bundle of rope. The rope was the kind used for tying up tomatoes as they grew, to support them. While wandering the store, he figured he may as well buy something that might help in their task, and rope was the simple, affordable choice. After that, he ambled towards the Yume park, much less tense now that there was no pressure to socialize with anyone. And though there were plenty of people around, it wasn’t nearly as bad as being on any public transport in the rush hour would be. He enjoyed his walk to the park and happily strolled on the paved paths among the artfully arranged greenery. Akio eventually settled himself on a bench, in a shade, and wolfed down his snack, then sipped on the water slowly. Though he had had that delicious brownie earlier, it had only hungered him. The small pastry and the water he had bought, however, worked to energize him. Hopefully this chasing-something wasn’t an extreme enough activity to cause him to vomit. That would be- more than awkward.

Akio felt rather pleasant right now, and for a few minutes just observed the surroundings. He looked at how many other people there were, or if he could see any of his classmates around already. He then took out the bundle of rope he had purchased and searched for scissors in his pen case. Akio cut the rope free, then cut a short piece off of the bundle. With that done, he stored everything but the short cut-off rope piece in his bag. He had decided to play some cat’s cradle on his own to pass the time. The rope wasn’t nearly stretchy enough, not to mention he would have to tie the two loose ends together. As he was making a knot, though, an idea struck him. Akio untied the partial knot and concentrated on holding the two ends together just with his new telekinesis powers. It took a very intense focus to do what he wanted, especially once he began looping the rope around his fingers, trying to manipulate the thing into different shapes without letting the construction fall apart. It was challenging, and Akio became completely absorbed in his self-given task, without even noticing his preoccupation.

Ayame Masahiro

Ayame packed up her things quickly, and decided to join Aiden's group since he had offered to walk with everyone. It would definitely feel nicer walking with a group of friends -- well, perhaps not quite friends yet -- instead of walking by herself after her first day of school. "I'll join you guys," she said eagerly as she fell in with Alice and Aiden. "So, what do you think of all this?" she said, trying to make a bit of conversation. "I keep thinking I'm going to wake up and it'll all just be a crazy dream." She gave them a friendly smile, and then turned to see Sora running over to catch up with them.

"Oh, Hi Sora! You're coming with us too? I heard you say that your parents already know about this stuff. Does that mean you know what's going on, or are you still reeling from this too?" Ayame gave him a friendly smile as well, but she was also legitimately curious. If he knew about these kinds of things, maybe he'd know what they were going after in the park. There was so much she wanted to know, still, but she didn't want to bombard him with questions. Yet.

Aiden Cross

After Aiden left the room, he was happy some of the others already took his invitation. It would seriously suck to go to the park solo. Being left alone to his own raging thoughts was something he really hated. His inner demons always came out when he was left unattended with the foul mental beasts. Being around others and talking a lot seemed to be the only relief from them.

The first students that came out to him were Alice, Ayame and... Sora? That’s unexpected. Aiden didn’t peg the raven haired boy as someone who’d come along with him, especially after hearing his harsh questions. He emitted a sort of solitary aura that was honestly slightly intimidating. It was sort of hard to believe that he’d open up to others. But hey, can’t judge a book by its cover right? It’s happened to him numerous times before and it feels totally degrading.

As the group came to join him, Aiden waved at them, “Hey guys!”, he beamed. When Ayame handed some queries to Sora, Aiden gave a slight nod and hum in agreement. ”Yeah I was wondering about that too”, he complied. Aiden started to walk backwards so he could see Sora’s face, “You seem to already know about a little of what’s going on. Nothing really seemed to faze you after all” he inquired, while trying not to hit anything behind him.

As soon as Sora caught up with the others he found himself being made the centre of attention as they began to ask him questions. He supposed that wasn’t too unusual; as he had already guessed it seemed like a few of the others really had no idea about any of this stuff before today. Since he had made a few comments that made it seem like he knew some of this already he shouldn’t be surprised they’d ask him questions.

“Yeah, I knew some of this stuff already. The powers are new, but the part about yōkai being real or the part where I’m descended from one I already knew about from my mom; she’s the same as me after all.” Slipping his hands into his pockets Sora slowed down to a walk now that he was caught up. “I’ve been able to see things others couldn’t for as long as I can remember, and as a kid I wasn’t quiet about it. I guess my parents decided I needed to know what was going on so that I could hide it from others; that’s really all it is. They told me what I can see and what I am; anything else I know I learned on my own.”

Honestly, it was more surprising that more of them didn’t know what was going on. Weren’t their parents descended from yōkai like they were, shouldn’t at least one of them know what their kid was going through and be able to explain it to them? Maybe these abilities didn’t always show themselves, like it skipped a generation or it was more than just blood that was needed. “Is this really new to all of you? None of you had any clue about all of this before today? What did you think those things you saw were?”

Aiden nodded as Sora answered Ayame’s questions. He wondered if he should tell his family about any of this. Unlike Sora’s parents, he was pretty sure they had no idea about anything of this. If they did, they probably would’ve told him

“Nope not really”, Aiden shook his head answering Sora’s queries. My mum had a fancination with yokai but she just seemed to find them interesting, nothing more. As for the things I saw, I went to a doctor when my parents started to get worried, and they diagnosed me with a mental disorder. Although somewhere in the back of my mind I knew that the spirits that I saw were real and not just a mental figment, I just sort of came to accept it y’know?” Aiden shrugged. He then turned to the girl that was walking next to Sora. “What about you Ayame?” He curiously asked.

It made her feel quite comfortable that several others decided to join their group and walk together to the park. At first she was just listening to what the others were saying with a happy smile on her face, but then she decided to say something too. "I was very surprised when I heard about this! The relation I have with my family isn't good at all, so that's probably why I haven't heard anything about this before. It's pretty exciting though that I can become someone important and also that my love for nature can be quite handy!" She was telling slowly to see how everyone would react on what she told about herself.

After looking around to where they were walking, she asked the others: "Does anyone know where our destination is? Even though I love nature, I have never been there before and wouldn't even know where I should look to find it!"
