True appearance: Standing at a mere 142cm (4’8), Theresa is not only diminuative in stature but also thin and unimposing of build. She is whiter than sour cream, to the point some seeing her in the dark might be concerned they had just found a ghost. Her jet black hair and green eyes do little to compliment her pasty features. The bags under her eyes betray a life spent isolated and unhealthily.

True personality: One look at Theresa would take one to assume she was a stereotypical shut-in nerd, and that would hardly be an unfair assumption to make. She is typically averse to confrontation, loathe to speak up in groups, and lacking in social sense when she does. She is highly sensitive to other’s opinions of her, and tends to take things said to her deeply personally if they are less than kind. Her solve saving grace is that she has a certain cleverness to her; she knows when it’s best to keep her mouth shut, and occasionally produces a decent piece of insight into the actions of others.

Though she appears and somewhat acts meek, a look inside Theresa’s head would quickly convince anyone otherwise. Within her own thoughts, she is jaded, cynical and downright judgemental. She tends to keep her inner commentary to herself, but suffice to say just because she hasn’t told you she doesn’t like you, there’s no guarantee she isn’t thinking about just how much she doesn’t like you right now.

Reason for having attended the game: Theresa had decided that she was going to challenge herself and step outside her comfort zone. To that end, she decided to tack herself onto a roleplaying group, even if the thought of being among a group of abject strangers terrified her more than anything. In her ignorance, she chose to show up to this group’s sessions, coming to regret not knowing anybody that could have told her the DM was kindof an ass.

Character´s background and lore: The son of a humble famer, Alistair seemed destinied for a life of baseborn drudgery, but he so idolised the idea of joining the Verus Order; a knightly band of heroes dedicated to upholding peace and virtue in the realm. Thus, he started training day and night that he might become a match for the order’s finest, saving up enough money from his rural toil to buy a common sword. One day, he came across a traveller having been waylaid by a foul brigand. He drew his sword and met the criminal in combat, and came out the victor. To his great surprise, the traveller was in fact a member of the lofty Verus Order himself, and he offered to take Alistair on as his squire on the spot.

Alistair has since become a solid junior member of the Verus Order, now fit and free to travel the land at his own leisure. As knights of the Verus Order are largely autonomous, Alistair chose to fall in with an adventuring band in order to make use of his skills and hopefully keep his fellows on the right moral track. While he is dedicated to the cause of goodness, he won’t begrudge anyone the chance to earn money in a lawful and decent manner.

In summary, Alistair is a cliché knight in shining armour, and almost everything Theresa is not.

They are a widespread order with chapters in many lands, dedicated to protecting the innocent and slaying the wicked. Their numbers can include anything from flat out goody two-shoeses to crusading vigilantes.

She stands at roughly five feet four inches tall and weighs one hundred and thirty three pounds. She has perfectly straight jet black hair in a sideswept bob cut and a light olive toned skin. Her body frame is faintly ectomorphic, not very angular despite being fairly flat. Amidst her variety of casualwear she can be seen wearing a white button up shirt and dark shaded jeans. Lastly she has deep dark brown eyes which look pitch black in less than optimal lighting.

True personality:

She is something of a thinker, one who dwells deeply upon matters and always takes time to consider things instead of rushing to any conclusions. She likes to take matters at her own pace, even if that pace can sometimes be a fair bit slower than everyone elses. Given her predilection towards thought she is a fairly insular individual who largely keeps to herself. Anything that would even remotely resemble friends for her all exist online as she dwells a fair bit on the net in her free time between her studies.

She can be fairly fastidious, always maintaining a fairly tidy environment around herself when she can. She is a creature of routine, given to adhering to the same motions for any given task. It helps her save more time to think about matters of higher learning, leaving mundane matters off her mind amidst her daily rituals. As such she can be somewhat slower to adapt in circumstances of sudden change or in instances where quick thinking is needed. Her fields of fascination lie in matters many would find strange. Insects, bacteria and most other things other people would find repulsive are things she holds a certain interest in, even if she would never in her life go near them. It is something of a morbid fascination with matters that while interesting are things that she would find hard to even approach let alone interact with.

Reason for having attended the game: With her last gm having recently died in a fatal car crash the campaign he was hosting dissolved and she was left without a group. With this unfortunate change she decided to take her mother's advice and pick a more social medium of roleplaying. Answering the online ad she was thrust into these unfortunate circumstances before long.

This roughly one hundred pound blob of living goo appears to maintain the rough approximation of a humanoid form. It chooses to appear like a human but it's clear that it is a matter of preference since it can resume it's regular form whenever it wishes. It's body is a translucent green color not dissimilar to lime jello in color, texture and yield. No matter it's form it always has a set of eyes though these eyes are not separate organs themselves but are instead light sensitive spots on it's body. The eyes appear to work similarly to human eyes in that they can look around and also possess expressive eyelids but it is all mimicry.

Surprisingly it can talk and is able to speak quite well however it's voice can be likened to something akin to the combined sounds of a mouse's squeak and two balloons rubbing against each other. It's voice is, needless to say, very high pitched and rubbery sounding.

- Splitting: A classic ability of slimes. When enough damage of certain varieties is dealt to her she will split into two smaller versions of herself, each one inheriting half of her remaining Life. Each version of herself can split once they receive up to half of their new maximum Life total. Once a version of herself possesses a Life total that is lower than a certain minimum percentage of her original maximum Life total she can no longer split upon receiving over half of her Life in damage.

In addition to inheriting half of her maximum Life total upon splitting both halves will also inherit half of all her knowledge as her mind is split evenly between the two slimes. They both will be able to function independently of one another but their memories will be scattered evenly between them. Lastly they can at any point recombine to form a single being, pooling both their memories and total Life pools together for combined effectiveness.

- Growth: Like any living creature she naturally grows by eating nutrient rich food. Unlike most living creatures there is no cap on how large she may grow. The larger she grows however the greater her food requirements become, providing an environmental limiter to her growth as well as an incentive to consider pragmatism in her given situation.

- Acid Damage: Physical contact with her slime residue causes acidic damage. This damage grows more potent in proportion to her overall mass.

What poorly thought out ideas did you contribute?: She contributed the metal Arcanium, Idea Shards and most notably the race of slimes, those creatures almost every adventurer fights at one point or another in their career. Slimes, as described above, come in a plethora of varieties as they adapt to suit their environments so the possibilities as to what types of slimes exist are almost endless.

True appearance: Blonde, blue eyed, 5’8”, 145 lbs, modestly defined physique with a slightly visible belly from a less than active profession and long fingers and toes with oddly placed callouses. Also, glasses and a short beard. Typically wears button down shirts in solid colors and slacks or dress pants. He doesn’t wear expensive things, but they always seem to look nice.

True personality: John is a patient man who is more willing to think his way around a problem than charge in headlong and would usually prefer to not kill, as a rule. He likes solving puzzles and intellectual exercises and prefers games of the mind to games of the body. He does exercise his body but only because he noticed how much his thinking was impaired when he let himself become physically weak. He likes romantic stories and mysteries just as much as action and adventure but it takes a good story to hold his attention since he has a tendency toward figuring out the plot and ending before the story is half-way through.

John may seem like a perfect, romantic gentleman to a casual observer, well-mannered and polite. But he is far from a romantic, having a highly pragmatic worldview and a penchant for ruthless efficiency. If a situation arises where lives are on the line or no nicer solution is readily available, this gentleman will coldly and efficiently kill anything he thinks he needs to. He, on one occasion, calmly beheaded several examples of assorted poultry, taking a brief break to shoot a fox that got too close, while discussing the weather and the arrangements for an upcoming birthday party.

Character´s appearance: Black hair, gray eyes, 5’11”, 155 lbs, scrawny build, ribs show through anything that isn’t baggy and loose, delicate and long fingers and toes. No facial hair. Wears tunic and hose under thick hooded robes. He gets cold easily.

Character´s background and lore:

Born on the smallest and poorest of the Wealing Isles, a part of the Kneels Archipelago which was renamed after being conquered by the Parfaidu Empire, Fardur grew quickly and helped his family with the household chores until he reached marrying age. For that area, due to the many fevers that the marshy island was home to, the marrying age for boys was 13. At this age he began going into the marshes with his father and four older brothers to gather the herbs that they sold for a living. These herbs were useful as reagents, ingredients, medicines, and seasonings but the marsh is a dangerous place and life was long for most of the island dwellers.

Still, Fardur was lucky and outlived his parents and his brothers. Two of his sisters lived long enough to marry but both died after giving the village another few children. Fardur saved up enough money to get out of town and left it all behind. Unfortunately, he wasn’t much of a sailor and got caught in a current that carried him out to sea. When he was on the edge of death, he washed up on the shore of a remote island where he encountered the world’s only Supreme Ancient Primal Slime Elemental. He touched it and was tested. He survived and was strengthened in intellect and given magical power but lost much of his original vitality and physical strength. Bolstered by this new power, he was able to survive on this strange island long enough to repair his boat and make it to the mainland.

His true wanderings begin now, in a way no one expected.

Character´s abilities: (Only able to wear light armor. Nothing heavier than cloth on arms or hands and no headgear that obstructs forward vision ex. A helmet with a nose guard or visor. Limited to light weapons and throwing weapons.)

Magic Casting: Spells using MP. These are typically simple attack spells without status effects. MP regens quickly over time, even in combat.

Essence Casting: Spells with at least one status effect and two damage types. EP is only restored by resting.

Augmented Casting: Hybrid spells that use both MP and EP. This includes healing spells, buffs, debuffs, and potent or large AOE attack spells.

Creature Crafting: EP only. Cannot be used in combat. EP cost of the creature created is temporarily taken from the maximum EP available. This can be restored by the creature’s death or deconstruction. EP is only restored by resting. (multiple creatures can be crafted or more EP can be committed to making a single stronger one.)

Essence Points: An alternative and augmentive casting resource that requires the caster to be physically altered by an immensely powerful creature ((described below)). EP have many uses and prolong and empower spells in which they are a component while also allowing an additional range of spells that are otherwise unavailable. They do not regenerate except with rest. They cannot be recovered with items. There is one spell that allows some EP to be restored by consuming the body of a creature. This spell is not available early on. EP allows the user to create living pets that can gain levels and additional skills as well as evolving over time. These creatures cannot be resurrected and dissolve when killed.

Flaws: ((The creatures are not bound by magic and can disobey their creator or serve someone else and are usually vulnerable to all psionic and domination spells as well as morale effects. Essence is stored in fluid form and is lost by bleeding. Unbroken concentration is required for EP spells and they backfire with guaranteed critical results if interrupted. Essence lost is a living form of magic that will invade an ecosystem and alter creatures it contacts. Some of these will gain the ability to produce their own essence and wield their own powers. Essence cannot be destroyed or denatured. It can be starved to death but this requires a dark environment with no nutrients and at least a month of time.))

Supreme Ancient Primal Slime Elemental: Looking much like a large rainbow-colored lake of plasma that fills the center of a remote island, this creature is sustained by sunlight and the surrounding sea life. It can read the fundamental nature of living things and rewrite that information as it desires. Those who pass its test are augmented with the ability to wield a far inferior version of its powers. Those who survive that augmentation process gain extreme longevity and are freed from any level cap. However, they often suffer a heavy price of some kind, even if they survive the pain. This creature can eat passing dragons. It is not to be trifled with. However, it is immobile.

((It also has access to a wide variety of life forms that it can alter or augment and is fairly easily bored. Fun ensues… or the apocalypse.))

Wealing Isles: This marshy and jungle dotted sub-group of the Kneels Archipelago is responsible for about a third of the world’s cumulative ideas regarding the flavors that taste good and which medicines keep people from dying. It is an extremely productive source of herbs and other ingredients that range as widely in value as they do in the variety of their uses. It is home to comparatively few wealthy individuals, however, as the same environment that produces the herbs has a similar proclivity toward producing difficult to cure illnesses. Thus, the residents can be divided into three groups. There are fishers, gatherers, and the mercenaries hired by merchants to collect the harvested herbs and transport them to the mainland.

Kneels Archipelago: This large region of loosely associated islands was once a region of loosely associated island nations before being swiftly conquered by the Parfaidu Empire’s opening bid for, ironically enough, continental conquest.

Parfaidu Empire: This was a powerhouse that many expected to conquer the whole of the continent. At least, they were expected to until they reached the determined defenders of the Three Kingdoms Alliance that held the Palnis Mountain Range and lost all their momentum along with more than 300,000 men. Their age of conquest died and the empire has been in a slow decline for the better part of the subsequent century.

Bit of a Weeb

True personality: Jacob is socially awkward extrovert. He tries to make friends, he really really does but he is a text book definition of a 'dork' and a 'spaz'. A psychologist suggested a type of ADD or high functioning autism. He's very knowledgeable of seemingly unimportant things, like sci fi, comic books, movies, games, professional wrestling, internet videos and can go on and on about them, getting louder as he gets more passionate about. But while he's open and wants to be a part, it would be only a single word or angry stare that will have him scuttling back into the corner and remaining quiet. From that point on, his neurotic tendencies will further widen the gap of social interaction as he dwells way too much on how people think of him. He knows that 'not caring' and just 'doing your thing' and 'relaxing' is something he has difficulty doing.

Those that take the time to know Jacob find out that he's harmless. He wants a girlfriend, but is too afraid of being creepy that he will probably never make the first move. He'll give you the shirt off his back, go through hoops, do you favors, and while people do take advantage of him, it seems to come from a place of genuine sincerity. It might be motivated by the fact that he might need to buy friends through service, but he relies on those relationships. He is never happier as when he's part of a crowd and occasionally the center of attention. This makes him a reliable, if obnoxious team player.

In the moments where he's alone, Jacob reads about people that are larger than life doing great and heroic things and reaping the benefits of their heroism. Its a common fantasy for him, to be big and strong and beign the center of attention, loved by all. Being a superhero or a great noble warrior. It why table top gaming is such a joy to him, it lets him put his knowledge to use and make a great heroic character. He even on occasion cracks a really good joke or impress the group. Those moments are like heaven to him.

Reason for having attended the game: Jacob is genuinely a friend of the GM, even if he is an asshole, mostly because he and the GM have been gaming with different groups for a couple years now. During the high times of the session, it was their every friday night week to week, like a ritual. The guys an jerk outside the game, but eventually it was just something everyone kind of lived with, making sure his character would get the worst end just to stick it to the player. Jacob on occasion joined in on the jokes. But in any case, he joined up mostly because he was invited.

Character´s background and lore:

Pheonix was forged in battle, and tempered in blood. He doesn't remember his parents. Whether he was sold, or kidnapped, or just forgotten, it just never really mattered to him. All he remembers is the brutal world of the arena. He and other children his age were only taught the barest of education before the rest of their day was intended for hellish combat exercises and bone breaking sparring drills. Phoenix was a natural. He took to the adrenaline and the thirst for battle like it was his true calling. He would charge in, sometimes casting aside his blade and turn even a proper sparring duel into a bloody brawl, the fire in his eyes and hair igniting like a bonfire to enhance and entrance the experience. He did it for his sponsors and trainers, his fellow gladiators, all of whom he thought of as family. Mostly though, he did it for glory. For the fame and accolades of an appeased crowd. It was in their eyes that he felt alive, that he felt like something the world needed to acknowledge. Maybe it was a bit of defiance for his lot in life.

By his teens, he was an arena name and would commonly be pitted against heroes seeking to get some of the prizes the arena offered. Sometimes he won, sometimes he lost, but whenever he was on a line up, it always drew a crowd. Phoenix hated to lose, and would often go into dangerous sulks, destroying training equipment in the process. His keepers tried to placate him as best they could. Girls, Alcohol, Drugs... even to a teen these things were tempting and there was no such thing as law in the arena. However it was a simple set of comic books that would change Phoenix life.

Almost like he found a hero, a father figure, it was a character, Phoenix Light, hero who had unmatched strength and fighting spirit. He struck out and challenged monsters and villains and made the world a better place one punch at a time. Dawn was awe-inspired. It completely changed his goals, his personality, his outlook on life.

His hands, his weapons, they could make things better for people. The books showed him rather idealistic world outside the arena walls and also made him aware of how 'evil' his keepers were. Phoenix began his training, using the comic books as training aides in an attempt to develop the style the book had shown. It should have been impossible, but as he trained, he emulated a style of the Solars of the Old Realm, copying their forms and their moves, epitomizing their heroic image. He exalted into a Dawn Caste Solar while taking on another champion from another city. His golden light flashed over the crowd, bringing them to tears. He won the fight, changed, the mark of a Demon of the Sun on his brow, for Solars were considered nothing less in this age. He was immediately freed, fear from his handlers that he'd attract the attention of the world controlling empire that hunted the Solars.

He's been a mercenary vigilante ever since. Hero for hire.

Character´s abilities:
Phoenix's abilities come in the form of Essence, Charms, and Martial Arts Charms. His character is pre-created to be super strong, covered in rolling muscle and lifting and hurling an full grown ox. He also has almost supernatural charisma and looks, granting him a larger than life superhero build and presence. In terms of mental acuity, he's pretty much average, maybe with slightly above average perception and wits.

His magical abilities stem from a number of physical charms aka, magical effects that he uses essence to power. Turning his skin as hard as armor, surviving in environmental extremes, recovering from grevious injury, and leaping from the street to a roof are counted among them. At this stage, he is also a practitioner of an in game martial art called the Solar Hero Style which emphasizes bombastic over the top manuevers that make the user appear hero, while smashing the opposition. Some of the styles special techniques include throwing someone really far, punching something so hard it makes a shockwave, and using pro wrestling moves that would be considered impossible to stun and smash an opponents. (Examples, He once did an elbow drop onto a giant shark from the top of a mast, and gave a german-suplex to a Triceratops)

What makes Phoenix so powerful is that the Solars could be made specialized but given enough time, can become masters of pretty much anything. In their universe, Solars beaten and imprisoned the cuthulu like entities that made the universe in the first place. Every ability, talent, skill, or attribute can be pushed to god like levels provided the Exalt is old enough and trains enough, and each one of those can be skills has a multitude of charms that grant him access to powerful magical effects.

The weakness comes entirely within the system that Exalted (tm) has. You are supposed to be beyond human demi gods in terms of Strength, Skill, Charm, and Intellect. Phoenix has a body capable of tearing down the heavens themselves but with none of the actual preparation, intuition, or knowledge of how. He is a walking tank with power at his finger tips but not a clue of how to use it. Essence is like a new limb that those that have it has, and they have to practice to refine it through study, meditation, or practice, nothing that Phoenix has done. It is also dynamic and reactive. When Phoenix tries to use one of his charms or martial arts attacks, what ends up happening is alot of collateral damage and random accidents as the essence is completely disrupted in ridiculous ways, including hurting himself as essence flares, damaging tissues. Like superman without any control, hes just as much a danger to himself, his friends as he is to everything else.

Phoenix Dawn is literally a carbon copy of a character from another table top game, so with him, he brings the magic system...



Essence in Exalted (tm) is a kind of nebulous magical power thing that allows everything to happen. Its like mana in Magic the Gathering, the Force in Star Wars. Its the force that powers all of the characters magical affects 'aka' charms, artifacts, and sorcery and is the excuse for all the magical nonsense that the EXALTED (tm) is allowed to implement. Jacob was allowed to bring the Essence system with him, which might have disasterous consequences. Demons, Gods, Spirits, Fair Folk, other Exalted types and other terrible and stranger things are composed of Essence and can manifest their essence in reality warping ways, and they are supposed to be superheroes in a fantasy environment - but, it also brings with it a system in which others can learn and use magical effects as special moves or spells, particularly when it comes to magical races, martial arts, and sorcery. However, theres a limit to how much you have and can use, like MP in a video game.
