Today's Nintendo Direct was pretty good, I reckon. Not a whole lot of surprises, but there were a lot of announcements. I think there would have been something for everyone to enjoy in it.
Now if they could only bring out more info on Metroid Prime 4!

Outside of the microtransactions and disingenuous business practices, nah, it's a pretty strong outing as far as I can tell. I even like this year's career story.

the microtransactions are a bit egregious, but it's definitely an improvement over 2k18. i have friends who are already mid-70 overall, whereas in 2k18 they would still be in the 60s at this point in time.

the story is a LOT better as well. i highly recommend you give the cutscenes a watch on youtube if you're curious

I've watched Smoove's playthrough through the bulk of it, so yeah, it does seem to do better. I don't know if this is a day one buy or not, though. I'm kinda burnt out on sports games atm. I'll probably pick it up in November.

I have to say, the Shenmue remaster is decent. It's far, far better than what I remember in the original game - to the point where it feels like a completely new and better game in all respects. The box art seems a bit different though, maybe it's just a PAL region thing?

Shadow of the Tomb Raider is exactly what I wanted it to be. Basically, it's the same as the last two games and I'm perfectly happy with that. It seems to be taking a couple of cues from Horizon Zero Dawn with it's outfit crafting and resource gathering, but no complaints from me there.

I'm really glad Dragon Quest 11 has a crafting system that makes buying gear useless. It makes it way easier to justify dumping 500,000 gold in casino tokens then losing them all over the course of an hour.

Fuck this game is so good.

I finished Yakuza Kiwami 2 about a week ago. I only have one complaint...

not very. assassin's creed games are good. they suffer more from a weird story than being inherently bad, if you can look past that the important part (gameplay) is typically fun.

Well, I think this is the game where Assassin's Creed tries to be something else and I am a sucker for Roman/Greek-era games. I'm sure the mechanics will be fun, but I feel like I'm mostly interested due to how starved I am since Ryse wasn't very good and Gladius was like twelve years ago. So, that'll be part of my October. Seeing if this one is worth it.
