@Cu Chulainn A lot of the different classes in Fire Emblem are basically the same. I didn't sort them out to keep the ones that didn't repeat because, in the end, it falls down to how you want your character to look and feel I think.
To answer I'd say...Yes, probably. In that case. If you want to play a Ninja, it's not exactly like a Thief or Assassin, so it can be adapted I guess. Same thing for a Oni Warrior. It's basically a fighter or a Barbarian...just with a eastern look.
Was just asking for the sake of clarification is all. I think I may stick to some sort of dark magic user. Would be fun to have a magically fluent second-in-command, after all.
As of right now, I think I’m leaning towards a Sorcerer due to a miniscule interest in magic types being shown. Having a horse does seem tempting, though...
How many promoted chars are you allowing on gate? I was actually wanting to have one of my characters to be a Dark Pegasus, or I could just stick with them being a Pegasus Knight for now.
For my gunner character - I have images for both a Pistoleer (Or an average musket rifle - but not the whole long gunner sniper), a Cannoneer, and a Long Gunner (with a pretty big sniper rifle). Can we make a character on the Cannoneer and Long Gunner already or do we have to start at Pistoleer first?
@AzureKnight@Lmpkio I think your questions are basically the same. The only persons I was to allow starting at a higher tier than most was Lieutenant and Captain of the Company. I'd rather most people stick to Tier 1 classes for the beginning.
@Cu Chulainn I thought you would like to know - Chakra as been telling me in PM that she was thinking of using a magic user as Captain. Probably Sage class. You contemplated magic because no one showed interest in it, so I wanted to tell you. :p
@SimpleWriter Btw, for my pistoleer, he's going to be wielding the weapon from the picture below. An slightly modified hunting rifle he inherited from his father. While it's probably slightly more than a pistol, it won't have the reach as a sniper rifle. It's simply goes within a medium range. Can this slide? Or must I have him use pistols, which in that case I will discard the weapon he has in his hands.
I don't know exactly what class I should commit to, but two front runners are thief and priest. Priests seem kinda tricky to me however because I believe they are support only which may stunt they're growth. Furthermore - a mercenary priest?
Maybe a good alternative could be a troubadour, especially if they can use swords in this game.
@Lmpkio What you are asking is basically to allow the Tier 2 advantage and Weapon to a tier 1 Pistoleer. It cannot work. The look doesn't matter; I wouldn't mind a modified Pistol that have the look of a rifle, but I built pistoleers to be foot soldiers with sidearm that THEN become full fledged gunners at tier 2. Beside, personally, I like that image. Very long barrel pistol, still held in one hand. Cannoneer have middle range is why I am saying all this. Pistols were made to be close range, to go with the fact they uses a Sword also.
@Mangrale Staff and Sword for Troubadour, Yes. You raised a good question about healing... but I think that I will award more EXP for supports than they do in the game.

That is fine by me. It's simply a pistol with a long barrel. Barrel Pistol basically.
@Mangrale Just want to throw it out there that Priests in a mercenary outfit would make plenty of sense in universe, as a person's healing power derives from their faith, but that does not necessarily have to be faith in something holy and just. And even if you wanted to play that kind of priest, there isn't anything keeping you from writing a backstory that justifies them becoming a merc for any number of reasons. Essentially, those with healing magic are called Priests (or Clerics depending on the game), but that does not immediately tie them down to being morally upright members of a church.
And it is also worth mentioning that any outfit with plans to stick around for a hot minute would definitely invest in bringing on a few individuals dedicated to healing, seeing as their guys are far more likely than usual to end up with more holes than the human body is typically meant to have.

Oof. Back to the drawing board, then. I wonder what we're currently lacking so far...
-Fierce Rival:When Shirley is the support unit, if the lead unit triggers a critical hit, she will also perform a critical hit if her attack connects.
• Skills:
-Good Fortune:Chance of recovering 20% HP at the start of the user’s Turn.
• Story:Hailing from nation of Dricia, Shirley’s life has always been on the run in some kind of manner. Due to the stringent conditions of Dricia’s marshlands, her family, like most inhabitants, were nomads. Wherever the food source moved to, Shirley wasn’t too far behind. It was this lifestyle and upbringing that no doubt influenced her eventual path towards a Mercenary. Traveling was in her blood, having been part of a family line that, for generations, was always moving from one place to another.
It was to no one’s surprise then that Shirley would eventually stake out on her own, leaving her family in Dricia to pursue other goals. Her early years as a Mercenary saw to it great success on her part, though sometimes her methods were…questionable at best. For a few jobs here and there, she’d have a perfect record. But there were always those rare instances when she had gotten a little too carried away with her work. What followed was of course a cut to her overall payment and a red mess that someone needed to clean up.
This pattern would continue over the course of her time before joining the Red Branch Company. The problem lay in the fact Shirley enjoyed her job as a sell sword too much, and when she did act out on violent tendencies, it meant reduced pay for everyone involved. And of course, the corpse left behind. This string of seemingly random and vicious behavior eventually earned her the nickname, “Bloody Shirley”.
In all honesty, that was probably why she was scouted out by the Empire of Nuniel, brought in to become a member of the Red Branch Company. Not that Shirley minded. After all, money was money, and to a Mercenary the coin talked louder than the politics. Especially if there were people to maim, bodies to hack, and life to be spilled for Bloody Shirley.
A heavy sigh was what escaped reddened lips. It was sometimes….frustrating-yes, very frustrating-to receive the slashed payments for her work. She had no one else to blame but herself in all honesty, but to know it and receive it were two different things. And taking the less-paid route was detrimental to a Mercenary. Did she regret it? Mayhaps. Did she regret it an hour ago?
…no. No she didn’t. Just bringing her mind back to those fleeting moments of euphoric bliss were enough to wash down the bitter bile of disappointment. Mercenaries weren’t bounty hunters by all means, but they were sell swords all the same. And if the client wanted someone dead, well, that was just an open door of opportunity for her. Less expensive than any Assassin, she readily abused her role as the Mercenary if it meant being let loose on a rare opportunity like this.
Yes, she could still play out the scene quite vividly in her head. The scent of rotted wood was sharp and acidic but soon it had been blanketed by a thick musk. The musk was warm, pervading of the senses, but homely all the same. It had a slight metallic tinge to it, so present one could almost taste it on their lips if they licked the air. It might have stenched to others, but to her, to the red-rimmed Mercenary, a freshly hacked corpse brought with it a pause of familiarity.
Whatever had quickened her pulse, whatever had made her ears ring in roaring blood, gone were they when the bodies dropped to the ground. The large thuds were enough of a break from her mental enjoyments and the reality of what she had done would hit her like a train. Above all else, was the rising annoyance she would be paid less for mangling the target so much.
But at the end of the day, she’d have pleasant dreams to sleep to, happy, vivid memories of the dark to play with in her slumber. Whatever the Red Branch Company wanted from her, she would gladly give if it meant carrying out more tasks like this. Although it would be a while before Bloody Shirley emerged once again, there was no doubting that she would come back to haunt bodies and pockets of splurged coin.
