Personality: Jin is a very cold and aloof individual, preferring to not involve himself in the matters of others if he can help it. That being said, though, he does care for his subordinates and will not hesitate to get involved when there is more at stake than just one person's life. Jin is also a very goal-oriented individual, and his drive to do just that is terrifying combined with his ambitions for the future. The Power of Order has also led Jin to become far more adamant in succeeding, no matter the cost he (personally) must pay.
Brief History: Originally an orphan living with both his brother Ragna and sister Saya, Jin was eventually adopted by the Kisaragi family once a fire had struck his home and the weapon Yukianesa had possessed him to cut off his brother's arm. Jin grew up to become the heir of the household and, later, both a Major of the Novus Orbis Librarium and the 'Hero of Ikaruga'. Eventually, however, certain events led to Jin abandoning his post and uncovering a conspiracy built from Yuuki Terumi's scheming over the past century. Following the mastermind's defeat and the usage of Master Unit: Amaterasu to change the worldline, however, Jin has regained his post and even acts directly under the current Imperator of the NOL, despite his inability to take part in combat again.
Universe of Origin: BlazBlue (Post-Centralfiction)
Equipment:
Nox Nyctores - Mucro Algesco: Yukianesa—A blade formed of a magical ice that can never melt, Yukianesa is a weapon forged by Nine the Phantom for the sake of slaying the Black Beast. The blade has the ability to create ice for offensive or defensive purposes, and can be used to freeze people directly. It also has the ability to drive its wielder mad, but Jin has since overcome that with the Power of Order. The weapon can be summoned to his side at will, meaning that he is never truly unarmed in combat.
Abilities: Jin is a well-versed practitioner of iaijutsu, and it the primary means by which he fights with Yukianesa. His strikes are, in turn, quick and precise, with no margin for error. By invoking the power of Yukianesa, though, Jin is able to create ice even when his weapon is not drawn; this includes things like swords of ice, crystals erupting from the ground, and so on and so forth.
Other: By all means, the events of Centralfiction should mean that Jin is no longer able to fight. However, whatever has brought him to this Earth from 200 years ago (or so he thinks) has returned that strength to him—and more.
Personality: Calm, collected, serious. These are things Youmu tries to be at all times. To her credit, in a fight she is a dangerous and focused opponent, but outside of combat she is prone to being rather awkward. Her attempts to remain collected often fail, as Youmu is easily surprised and confused. She is not unintelligent, but it is simply quite easy to exasperate or perplex her. Youmu is easily frustrated by things that confuse her, and she is somewhat easy to mislead. However, she has been working on this, as to not fail Yuyuko. Youmu takes pride in her combat capabilities and her speed, as well as her katana, Roukanken and Hakuroken. In spite of her attempts to be a dutiful and serious warrior, Youmu retains a fear of ghost stories. In spite of being half ghost. And serving a ghost. However, when her opponent is not a ghost, Youmu can be a courageous fighter who refuses to give in. She also retains absolute loyalty to Saigyouji Yuyuko, even if the gluttonous ghost confuses and embarrasses her at times. Youmu is reluctant to kill other intelligent beings unless it is necessary to defend herself, Yuyuko, or others.
Brief History: Youmu was born into the Konpaku family, half-ghosts in service of the ruler of the Netherworld, Saigyouji Yuyuko. She was trained intensely in swordplay, and in how to garden in order to cultivate the gardens around Yuyuko's home. Soon enough, Youmu became Yuyuko's servant, dedicated to her service even when she was to cause an incident that nearly(unintentionally) caused the awakening of a malevolent entity in the form of a soul-eating cherry tree. Since then, Youmu has actively assisted in the resolution of several incidents.
Universe of Origin: Touhou
Equipment: Youmu carries two katana, Roukanken and Hakuroken.
Roukanken: An incredibly long katana, a nodachi that measures longer than the short girl is tall. Roukanken's blade was forged by youkai, allowing it to be nearly unbreakable. This is not the most notable feature of Roukanken, however. The katana's incredibly sharp blade transcends physicality, allowing it to cut apart even existences such as formless ghosts. Rocks, trees, flesh, steel, little can stand up to the unrestrained Roukanken. However, Youmu utilizes danmaku rules to avoid killing unless her life or the lives of others are in danger. Supernatural protection, or heavily augmented technology, may also defend against Roukanken.
Hakurouken: A wakizashi, Hakurouken possesses no ability to kill a living thing. Indeed, it is almost entirely harmless, causing some pain and discomfort but otherwise nothing else. Its capabilities lie in another area. It can be used to parry and it can incapacitate with enough blows, but the true nature of Hakurouken is its ability to divide things such as confusion. Certainly, cutting confusion is a valuable asset to the easily-confused Youmu. However, this is merely a side effect of its intended function. Hakurouken instantly causes the state of Nirvana in spirits it strikes, causing them to vanish utterly.
Abilities: Youmu is somewhat more durable than a regular human being, and has a somewhat more capable healing ability, but this is nothing as extreme as most youkai. As a half-ghost, a portion of her soul is embodied as a (usually)non-sentient floating phantom referred to as Myon. This can be used to observe distant areas, fire danmaku, or even temporarily become a duplicate of Youmu for double team attacks. Youmu also feels everything Myon feels, though she cannot be damaged in this way(something painful to Myon will be painful to Youmu, though). Youmu is an incredibly skilled swordswoman, capable of wielding her blades both one and two-handed. Her strength is above human level, allowing her to wield the incredibly long Roukanken one-handed. Youmu's attacking speed allows her to slash many times in an instant, to the point where it appears as a single attack. She can also move very quickly, in both air and on land, her speed making her the second fastest person in Gensokyo. This allows her to pull off her family technique, Two-Hundred Yojana in One Slash, covering an enormous amount of distance and come back in the time it takes to unsheath Roukanken and cut with it, allowing her to cut foes even quite a distance away. However, these shows of speed will eventually wear on her, so she cannot endlessly utilize her top speed. She also carries spellcards and is fully capable of flight. Her most powerful technique, both in spellcard form and as a true attack, is Reflecting Satellite Slash. This attack is simultaneously the cutting of her blade and a wave of blades reflected by the light of the moon, assaulting her opponent in a flash of light as she moves to cut through them. Even in nonlethal danmaku form it is a highly dangerous attack. However, it requires Youmu to hold still and gather power to properly perform it. In spite of all her advantages, Youmu is still partially human and can be injured as a human can, and while attacks to Myon do not cause physical harm, the pain caused by them can immobilize her.
Ben Adaephon Delat (Quick Ben, Magi of High House Dark, High Mage of the Bonehunters)
Gender:
Male
Appearance:
Personality:
Quick Ben is a private, scheming individual. He prefers to remain beneath notice. He trusts nobody, even those he has known and fought beside for years. Even so, he is bold when the situation arises and he is prepared. Quick Ben plays his game from behind the scenes.
Brief History:
Quick Ben was the last of a cabal of mages hunted down by the Malazan Empires Bridgeburners. During the pursuit his fellow mages fell one by one, their souls and powers being shifted into Quick Ben. At the conclusion of the chase, having earned the mutual respect of them, Quick Ben joined the company as a squad mage. Initially merely a gifted mage possessed of exceptional creativity and finesse, he has become worthy of the title High Mage. Formerly an enemy of the empire, Quick Ben did all he could to keep a low profile. His infamy also extends to the pantheon of gods, many of whom are wary of him and some hold personal grudges.
Universe of Origin:
The Malazan Book Of The Fallen
Equipment:
None
Abilities:
Quick Ben has practiced the art of magecraft since the age of 10 and has continued to expand his power and utility. Though he might not possess the raw power of some, combined with his creativity he has proven to be able to slay flights of dragons and be a credible threat to gods.
Ben is also exceptional in having access to a great number of warrens of magic. Where a mage having access to two or three is unique he is able to use up to seven out of the twelve that he has access to at any time.
Through deeds and fame, Quick Ben is on the edge of Ascendancy, becoming tougher and stronger than a normal human but still very mortal.
Other:
Warrens:
Warrens are a realm where mages, priests and others draw their power. They a both a source of power and a location. The power is accessed by willing open the warren and grasping the power that leaks out. This power is flexible and it's application depends on the mages imagination. Some are better suited for certain tasks than others.
When used as a physical location, Warrens can be used to travel. Once entered the chosen destination is visualized and one moves there through the warren. This allows a mage to avoid and obstacles between themselves and their destination as well as move large distances in a short amount of time.
Having shifted the souls of these other mages Quick Ben has access to their own warrens as well as his own. He is remarkable in having access to twelve, though not all have any practical use and he is only able to use up to seven at any one time. Even seven at once is six more than most mages can manage, giving him an unprecedented level of flexibility. Even those without use can be unleashed with a burst of raw, power.
Denul: healing. Forced healing takes a toll on the mind instead of the body. D'riss: stone, the earth Hood: death, necromancy and demon summoning. Fener's Warren: the god of war Meanas: shadow and illusion. a child of both Rashan and Thyr. Imperial Warren: claimed by the Malazan Empire. It consists of a barren wasteland that had been utterly incinerated by fire. Rashan: Darkness, true illusions. more powerful than Meanas. Ruse: the sea, darkness and pressure. Serc: the sky, air and storms Telas: Fire Tennes: the land, cycles of the seasons. Thyr: light, protection
Personality: A young and innocent girl who seems to be the polite and friendly sort. Abigail tends to assume the best of others in most cases, and often appears not to fully understand some of the implications of her actions. Still, she is a sweet and friendly girl most of the time, and also fairly religious, given she was born in Puritan Salem. She is quite affectionate to those she considers to be her friends, and seems to enjoy playing and doing most things that a girl her age should be enjoying. Abigail deeply enjoys sweet things, especially pancakes, and most people would consider her to be a totally normal girl at first glance. Even when using her abilities, she sometimes seems rather skittish about them(even if she occasionally shows pride towards accomplishing victory in a difficult fight). She also adamantly insists she is not a witch, no matter how unusual her capabilities may seem. Having spent plenty of time among magi, both her Master and Casters, however, has caused her to no longer view the concept of a witch with fear. Even if she will still insist that she is not one. She will sometimes state that her actions mean she is a bad girl, as well. However, she she fully exerts her powers, her demeanor seems to change. Her tone of voice becomes far more calm, and she develops a sadistic edge, especially in combat. She also no longer displays a skittish reaction to any of her capabilities, instead embracing them. Abigail will also develop an interest in things inappropriate for her age, such as trying alcoholic beverages. It is unlikely, however, that she will take on her Outer Form without being pushed to do so first. Even with the change in attitude, however, it is clear the same girl is beneath the more sadistic and malevolent demeanor, and she will still use the powers to protect her friends.
Brief History: A Servant who appeared during a singularity occuring in Salem, technically this Abigail and the Abigail who appeared there are the same and yet different. Regardless, she has been a happy member of Chaldea's ever-expanding roster of Servants for a considerable amount of time, now. However...
Universe of Origin: The Nasuverse, specifically the Fate/grand order iteration
Equipment: Her teddy bear, Mi-Go. It can, surprisingly, serve as a somewhat effective weapon due to her capabilities as a Servant and can move independently of her body when Abigail is in Outer Form.
Abilities: Abigail's nature is that of a Servant. As a result, without any form of supernatural enhancement it becomes impossible to cause damage to her. She is also much stronger and faster then a little girl should be. Abigail can also assume an incorporeal form, but she is unlikely to do that as it is more fun to remain physical. Her more unique abilities are significantly more esoteric, however. Abigail is a Foreigner-class Servant, defining an individual who has gained the powers of an outer god while retaining their sanity. However, due to her nature, she is capable of generating portals even without the influence of the evil extradimensional god known as Yog-Sothoth. Instead, it is through these portals that she uses the power granted by this contract writhing, strangely-shaped tentacles to assault the target. In spite of the fact that the nature of her abilities remains the same regardless of what form she has taken, in her regular incarnation these attacks appear to be golden light in the shape of tendrils and other strange creatures. In her outer form, she obtains a huge key that can be used as a sword, and the ability to summon even more strange creatures and unmasked tentacles, including swarms of exploding insects. In any form, she is capable of firing a large beam from her forehead, either from seemingly no-where or from a keyhole in her head in Outer Form. In Outer form, the beam is significantly more powerful. Abigail is also capable of transitioning between her ordinary form to her Outer Form and back, though it will take a great deal of emotional distress, anger or sadness, to cause her to utilize her Outer Form. In any form, she has the ability to erode the mental state of ordinary humans, but she restrains this capability due to being unwilling to harm innocent people.
Qliphoth Rhizome The act of opening a gate via her link to Yog-Sothoth. Technically, it is a Noble Phantasm capable of assaulting the entire planet, but due to restrictions placed on it(possibly by Abigail herself) it is only capable of attacking a single target. When unleashed, the target is drawn beyond the gate, their mind and body assaulted by the presence of the outer god within a root of the Tree of Evil. While it is not impossible to survive this assault, it is an attack that can cause enormous damage to the target's mental and physical state and strip away and protections or enhancements they have placed upon themselves. In spite of its power, Abigail is reluctant to use something so devastating in nature. She would have to be pushed exceptionally far in order to release it.
Name: Jared Kincaid Gender: Male Appearance: Tall with dark blond hair just long enough to be exotic, gray-blue eyes and a scar in the cleft of his chin. He holds himself with a casual confidence and grace. He's tall, but not lanky, with enough muscle to comfortably fill out any shirt he might be wearing. Kincaid favours a dark jacket over a dark coloured shirt and pants. He'll often wear a black baseball cap. His face is empty of expression ,but not as if concealing something, there's just nothing there. Personality: Kincaid is a no-nonsense, pragmatic kind of guy. In his own way he's trustworthy and ethical, as far as he's been paid. Kincaid won't think twice about collateral damage as long as the primary goal of whatever job he is working on is reached. Brief History: Jared Kincaid is the hybrid offspring of a human and a demon. He is centuries old and has spent many of them fighting for and against a wide variety of supernatural entities including Vlad Drakul. Kincaid currently works for The Archive, a living repository for all human knowledge. This has brought him into contact with Harry Dresden, making his job a whole lot more difficult. Universe of Origin: The Dresden Files Equipment: Anything he can get his hands on. Kincaid has used anything from pistols and sniper rifles to shotguns and spears. He also should have little difficult sourcing anything he might require. Abilities: Being inhuman, Kincaid is supernaturally strong, fast and durable. He has shown to be able to recover from anything not immediately lethal and keep fighting through normally debilitating pain and injury. While he cannot see in perfect dark, his eyes can detect infrared light that is normally invisible.
He primarily uses firearms, showing unerring accuracy and skill under any circumstances with whatever weapon is at hand.
Personality: Due to in part her strategic mindset, Robin has always been highly perceptive to the others' feelings, and can figure out the source of most people's inner turmoils in a matter of a few important conversations. With a naturally passive but strong charismatic nature to her, and the general ability to befriend most everyone she meets, it is safe to say that her social capabilities are great in their own ways. Yet while she can be friendly, there does exist her tendency of getting exasperated over the antics of some people of more “colorful” personalities and dispositions. This all being noted, Robin firmly believes in the concept of forming bonds within an army, believing that these bonds make them all stronger than if they were to fight separately.
An avid reader of books with a penchant for history, one could call her a true “bookworm” at heart and a “nerd”. Though whilst modest to a fault about her capabilities and such, in part stemming from being very self-conscious or insecure about non-battle-related things and even her own place in a group, she is on the other hand somewhat prideful of her tactical abilities. Indeed, when repeatedly bested in a strategy board game by someone, Robin became absolutely dejected and even suggested they lead the army she was involved with. When Robin eventually came to the knowledge she was born with the intention of becoming the vessel for Grima, she felt incredibly conflicted and lost, wondering if she could even be trusted any more. However, through the bonds she forged with Chrom and the Shepherds she realized that she isn’t controlled by that destiny, thus allowing her to avert the tragic fate of the world and ultimately sacrifice herself for that goal.
Admittedly, though, Robin confesses she not all of the memories of her life before meeting Chrom and the Shepherds, a true “blank area” for her that to some extent eats at the back of her mind. However, on journeys into the Outrealms to recruit other heroes to help her army’s cause left her regaining a small something of her past. In this case, a chunk of her post from she was serving under Lyn and Eliwood and others, especially prominently in regards to her memories of Lyndis herself. Though upon regaining just this part of herself, it has left Robin confused and curious as to how much she’s been involved with prior to even meeting Lyn or Chrom for that matter.
Though on a final note, she does feel a bit like a “veteran of being pulled into different worlds”, such that it has become a thing she’s oddly accustomed to by this point in time.
Brief History: An amnesiac tactician who was found by Chrom and the Shepherds of Yilesse, before being taken into their army as their tactician. She eventually regained parts of her past, albeit not in memories but instead information. This was most prominent when it was discovered she had been created and born to become the vessel of the entity known as “Grima”, a startling blow to her mind at the time. Despite this, her mother had run off with her and disappeared many years before the young Robin could be used for this role.
For the intermittent years between this time and meeting Chrom and the Shepherds, Robin seems to have wandered into the Outrealm Gate and otherwise, after acquiring the Einherjar card to summoned the hero “Lyndis”. Though interacting with Lyndis, Robin ended up regaining actual memories as being the tactician of Lyndis, Eliwood, and others from that other group in the past.
However, the rest of her memories from “before” are still completely lost even through current times, without even a hint of memory. Eventually she did end up sacrificing herself to save the world alongside the Shepherds as well, using her ties to Grima to shatter her bond with him and kill him permanently. However, the prophesied small chance she would be reborn again did manage to come true, and she came back into the world without a connection to Grima.
Yet after this she was eventually summoned by a “mysterious summoner” who was seeking to help save various worlds with people from a nation called Askran, this catching her in the middle of a summer vacation trip into the Outrealms with Chrom and company. She was even able to face other “variants” of herself from different versions of her world to boot. She would only serve for a time, however, assisting to defeat the King of a land called Muspell before being sent home once more as other heroes were called in to take her place in future battles. Safe so say, she hopes this summoner and company will succeed, but was glad to be home regardless.
But as it were, the female tacticians’ life has continued to take another twist with recent developments......yet another world, with yet more challenges to face.
Universe of Origin: Fire Emblem
Equipment: Levin Sword (on right hip; forged: +5 mt +9 crit), Aversa’s Night (left hip; forged: +5 mt +15 hit), Gungnir (on back over left shoulder; enhances user's strength notably when wielding it), Rescue staff (on back over right shoulder; used to teleport individuals and other living beings next to the user), Catharsis (on back over right shoulder along with Rescue staff; used to majorly heal targets at a range)
Abilities: Robin is an ingenious individual who firstly and foremost possesses a keen grasp of tactics and strategy, in life having acted as the tactician for anything from the smallest bands of people to an entire combined army of troops from different nations. Her perceptive capabilities allow her to pick up on noteworthy things (and stuff like others’ emotions) rather well even in heated situations or battles, making her an asset in this regard as well with her strategic mindset. She has been also noted for creating strategies on the fly and even whipping up "crazy" plans or new war tactics out of pure inspiration, a feat in and of itself that speaks to her skill and natural talent for being a tactician.
In regards to combat, however, Robin possesses what could be called an “alarmingly diverse” set of potently-trained combat abilities. From possessing outright great skill in all varieties of tomes and staves, to possessing immense ability handling/riding upon all kinds of flying or ground-based mounts, to possessing the sneakiness of Tricksters and subtle lethal skills of Assassins to a ‘T’, and finally possessing top-tier skill in all varieties of weapons from her world...she is deadly in battle to say the least back home.
However, her body itself can also be deemed “unique” in nature. It was originally fashioned and born as the perfect vessel to host the power of another being known as “Grima”, which was hailed as a god by her father and many others in her world. Despite her direct connections to Grima being severed in a climactic final battle, her body even in this “reborn” form retains this innate functionality and purpose due to it being a base part of her.
Personality: Chris is rather rough around the edges, and usually comes off as abrasive and hot-headed to those that she meets. While she used to be a far more antisocial person (partially due to her own upbringing), the events of the last few years of her life involving the other Gear users have caused her to open up considerably more to those who come to know her despite her own shortcomings. At heart, she is committed to doing the 'right' thing, even if she personally suffers due to the consequences of her actions. Despite her behavior to those around her, though, Chris is less of a delinquent and more of a straight-A student. In that regard, she is the opposite of Hibiki—a studious young woman who is able to come up with and execute complex solutions to problems on the fly, and one who relies on her brain more than she might brute force. Not to say that she doesn't occasionally decide that 'bigger is better', though; if you have enough firepower to level a mountain, then sometimes brute force is the best answer.
Brief History: The child of a famous singer and artist, Chris was brought along by her parents to volunteer at a country that had, at the time, recently exited a coup. Both of her parents were killed during a terrorist bombing, however, and a young Chris was soon kidnapped and sold into slavery. Though rescued by the UN a few years later, Chris was kidnapped once again by Fine, who continued to exploit and abuse her until eventually abandoning her altogether. After this event, it was Kazanari Genjuro, the leader of S.O.N.G., who took her in as his adoptive daughter. Though she is still somewhat far from fully recovering from the trauma of constant abuse, the events of the last few years and the bonds she has formed with the other Gear users have allowed her to readjust to society once more.
Universe of Origin: Senki Zessho Symphogear
Equipment: Chris, like Hibiki, has a Gear made from a piece of a Relic—though in her case, it is the bow Ichaival rather than Gungnir that is used as a basis. Once activated, Chris gains increased physical durability, as well as a pair of crossbows that can fire multiple magical bolts at a time. Aside from these weapons, though, Chris' Gear itself gains the ability to shoot a seemingly-infinite supply of missiles at will. The aforementioned crossbows also have the ability to change into other projectile weapons, particularly firearms; while Chris prefers to use them as a pair of gatling guns attached to her arms, these weapons have also been shown to be able to take the form of a pair of pistols, a Japanese yumi, and a large sniper rifle (which can also double as an emergency bludgeoning tool). Additionally, Chris also possesses an Ignite Module and can use its power to amplify her own, for a short period of time. As with all Gear users, she also has her own ace-in-the-hole in the form of her Swan Song, but that also comes with the risk of necessary medical intervention should there no be no way of diverting the backlash elsewhere.
Abilities: Placing aside anything directly involving her Gear, Chris is particularly skilled in kyudo and marksmanship (which, all things considered, plays into her own skill with the Gear itself). Aside from that, Chris is also quite intelligent and can act as a relatively decent emergency tactician should the need arise.
Personality: A highly intelligent and empathic individual, Fran is far from “stupid” even within the class of a Berserker. She does, however, mostly maintain a shy silence, in part due to the fear of her own monstrous nature combined with a lack of skill in expressing herself. When she does communicate, she is mostly limited to head-shaking and grunts due to the effects of her Mad Enhancement skill robbing her of most linguistic ability.
This being said, she can “speak” even in her current state, but the act is ultimately “tiring” and places strain on her as a result. She also likes conserving electricity...even unplugging computers or such devices on certain occasions in regards to this.
Brief History: The literal Frankenstein’s Monster. A servant who appeared in the London Singularity, and later was summoned to join the servant roster of Chaldea. She has been there ever since, even longer than some of the newer recruits. However, it was during this time she was forced to face the demons of her past...only to ultimately overcome them with renewed vigor. Yet this recent event will change things, it seems...
Universe of Origin: Nasuverse; Fate/Grand Order
Equipment: Bridal Chest (a high-efficiency implement that continuously gathers and recycles energy wasted by her and gathers energy present in her surroundings to continuously power her by flowing it through her heart and into her Magic Circuits)
Abilities: Fran’s nature is that of a Servant, a being beyond normal humans in terms of strength, agility, and other capabilities in general. As a result, without any form of supernatural enhancement it becomes impossible to cause damage to her, even with modern weapons like machine guns and RPGs and the like. Akin to other servants Fran can also assume an incorporeal form, but due to a personal reluctance to take on such a form she prefers to remain physically manifested.
Further, her first Noble Phantasm “Bridal Chest” and her ability “Galvanism” causes her to transform non-material attacks like beams, wind attacks, and energy bullets to be converted into electricity and “rendered without effect upon her” as said electricity is discharged into the environment (and help power her personally). Indeed, between absorbing electricity and converting both magical energy and some kinds of attacks into electricity, Fran is capable of potentially “fighting perpetually at full power without any outside assistance needed”.
Her skill Galvanism also allows absorbed electricity to be used to implement rapid self-repair and physical attribute reinforcement, allowing her to emulate the Mana Burst ability to some extent.
She can also utilize a “suicide attack” with Bridal Chest, known as “Blasted Tree” (typemoon.wikia.com/wiki/Blasted_Tree). Although its usage means her death, the ability has a hidden function mentioned in the blueprints; the fact that the attack is not simply lightning but rather a power with her very will imbued within it. So long as the will exists, she will never truly perish. This allows for the low possibility of a second Frankenstein (Fran) to be materialized in the attack's wake, but with her death, it will be impossible for her to witness the result of her actions.
Couldn't find a good picture of him in grandmaster clothes, so just imagine this, but... you know... in grandmaster clothes.
Personality: Bombastic and excitable, Owain is someone who rarely goes more than a single sentence without devolving into wild theatrics. Elaborate nicknames abound when he is in the room, whether he's referring to a weapon, spell, person or even a combat maneuver. Furthermore, he has a burning desire to improve his skills, often challenging people to duels in the hope that it will let him grow as a warrior and mage. However, rather than just come out and say this, he will almost always claim that it is due to his 'sword hand twitching for battle'.
However, he does have moments of maturity as well, being fiercely protective of the people he cares about and dropping the theatrics if he thinks he has taken things too far, as well as attempting to defuse the situation if his antics are taken the wrong way by strangers. After he and his friends Severa and Inigo were transported to Nohr and forced to abandon their old identities to blend in in their new world, he even managed to cope well enough that he was able to help the other two come to terms with it, a task they had far more trouble with.
Brief History:
Owain was the son of the famous tactician of Ylisse, Robin, and the halidom's princess Lissa. From a young age he looked up to them, along with the rest of the Shepherds, legendary warriors led by Exalt Chrom and defenders of the land. However, during his youth, a great and terrible entity, the Fell Dragon Grima, returned to the land after centuries of slumbering, lying in wait for a new vessel. Unknown to Owain, this vessel would end up being Robin himself, his will twisted and drained as he succumbed to the beast.
Humanity barely survived the following years, desperately fighting back against the certain death that was Grima and it's undead forces, the Risen. However, alongside the other children of the now deceased Shepherds, Owain fought to protect the last surviving humans as a swordsman. Despite his hot blooded nature however, even he began to lose hope as the fighting became more and more brutal, fewer soldiers returning from every battle. It was only then, when all hope seemed lost, that the dragon goddess Naga appeared with a potential solution, a costly back up plan that could only be used as a last resort.
Time travel.
Using such a large amount of power that it almost destroyed her, the ancient dragon sent the children back to before Grima could achieve victory, when the parents themselves were about their age. It was during this time that Owain became even closer to his parents than he had been already, and finally learnt the deadly skills of the Grandmaster, wielder of both blade and magic, from Robin. Of course, he also weirded his father right the hell out with his antics, but it all worked out in the end. Owain fought alongside his parents in many battles becoming a respected Grandmaster even without his fathers famous tactical knowledge. Eventually, in a glorious final battle, the Shepherds defeated Grima. However, in order to destroy the Fell Dragon once and for all, Robin sacrificed himself and faded away. And while he would one day turn up alive, Owain would not be around to see it, called off on another adventure, to save another world.
It was only a short while after the defeat of Grima that Owain, along with his companions Inigo and Severa, would be approached by a mysterious man calling himself Anankos requested their help. Upon arriving and meeting with him, Anankos asked the three to travel with him to his world, offering to fulfill any request they may desire in return. Sadly, their initial hope of their parent's resurrections in their original timeline was not possible, and so they instead asked that the world they were born in could be beautiful once again, and their parents be given proper graves.
As they were transported to the other world, they were told they would have to take on new identities, and Owain became the legendary dark mage Odin Dark! Unfortunately, as Anankos gave them their mission, protecting a child of the royal family in the kingdom of Hoshido, they were ambushed by enemy forces, sent by none other than the dragon form of Anankos, revealing that he was originally an ancient dragon before he separated a portion of his soul from the rest, his original forms mind deteriorating into rage and madness over time. The leader of these forces, the daughter of Anankos's dragon form Lilith, informed them that the child had been kidnapped by Nohr and was being raised as a member of the royal family, before attacking.
After more and more reinforcements arrived on the battlefield, Odin and the others were transported to Nohr by Human Anankos, who told them to become retainers of the royal family in order to find the child. His child. And that was the last they saw of him.
Over the next few years, he three would do exactly what Anankos asked, with Odin becoming a trusted retainer of the youngest prince, a powerful dark knight named Leo. While the following path would be quite difficult, including but not limited to a war with Hoshido, the middle princess Corrin discovering she was actually originally a princess of the Hoshidan royal family named Kamui and thus revealing that he was the child they had been searching for, and the revelation that there was a whole hidden kingdom called Valla, which turned out to be both the land Anankos had taken them to before Nohr and the country Dragon Anankos was using as a base to strike out at the rest of the world from, Odin wound up following Leo and the rest of the Nohrian royal children and their retainers to join with the Hoshidan forces in the fight against Anankos. It would soon be revealed that the entire war between Nohr and Hoshido was due to Anankos's plans anyway, as the dragon had possessed Nohr's king, Garon.
It would be during this second war, fighting another ancient dragon of immeasurable power, that Odin would finally take up his old sword Missiletain once again, donning his old Grandmaster robes and carrying on his fathers legacy. And finally, after countless bloody battles against the reanimated dead of an entire kingdom and the Silent Dragon Anankos himself, Odin Dark, Owain, finally helped bring the peace he had been chasing for so long to the world.
The universe, being the immeasurably kind deity it is, gave him about a month of rest before dragging him to Earth like everyone else.
And despite everything, all Owain could feel was his sword hand twitching in excitement for this knew adventure...
Universe of Origin: Fire Emblem
Equipment: Missiletaine (Sword) - Enhanced enough that it's actually pretty decent. Not a spell. Thoron Tome - A large and powerful 'spike' of electricity. Ragnarok Tome -A destructive spiral of flame. Ink Painting - A scroll specialized for counter attacks, summoning a dragon of ink to strike back at any who attack him. Dragon Scroll - Similar to the above, this scroll temporarily summons a phantasmal dragon to attack enemies.
Abilities: Owain is a brilliant swordsman, skilled enough in the art to survive during Grima's reign as a hero of the few surviving humans. Thanks to his parents tutelage, he is also an extremely talented mage, enough that he was able to pass off purely as a mage during his time in Nohr. However, his greatest talent lies in his ability to seamlessly blend the two during combat, blasting lightning from tomes while simultaneously wielding Missiletain in glorious battle, and even enhancing his own considerable strength with magical power thanks to a handy little skill named Ignis...
Well, it's either that or his ability to come up with incredible titles on the fly...
Which ever it is, he has a number of other abilities which, and while they aren't really things he would consider his greatest skills, they're still pretty good. Like the way he can heal himself by attacking his enemies using the mystical ability known as Sol, or the way he heals himself automatically without attacking his enemies thanks to the legendary skill known as Renewal. Then there's his ability to attack in a way that essentially reduces any armour or other defensive measures his opponents might take by half with the mythical attack civilisations old and new have always called Luna, or the way he learnt the legendary art of replicating himself to temporarily form a second, fully capable clone of himself from a friend of a friend's husband's brother. And then, finally, there's his uncanny knack to be extra proficient with any weapon whose name is longer than twelve letters, an ability he can only assume to be a boon granted by his Aching Blood.
Other: His sword hand twitches and hungers for justice pretty much hourly.
