Hey Silver, sorry that I haven't gotten my character up yet. I've been real busy this past week (And still am. I also haven't been spending what leisure time I had working on the CS...). I'm not sure if I'll be able to get it up this weekend, but feel free to start without me. I'll just try to catch up later.

How is everyone today?

Hey everyone, I'm back from my weekend RPing with my friends. I had a lot of fun, and so did they, playing through my adventure. One of my players even made a heroic sacrifice, which went down really well. The downsides are that I'm amazingly tired and I seem to have come down with some kind of crappy cold-like virus that has made my throat feel like it's been sand-papered.

Regarding RP more related to our game:
-Blackwolf, your character is fine, but I'll ask that you change the goggles you've listed and pictured to actual NVG's, as I have a personal annoyance with Night-Vision devices in movies being shown as, essentially, swimming or dust-goggles that allow you to magically see in the dark xP
This game isn't set into the future or with tech so advanced that NVG's would've shrunk that much, so you're still relying on goggles like the modern-day ones. Make that edit, and he's good to go.

-GrowingDark, Carson is fine too. Good to have a machine-gunner in the group, that will likely come in handy. Interesting that we've got two mercs already. I was expecting more people to go for playing actual militaries, or even para-military (like CIA or equivalents, or even SWAT). I'll add Carson to the OP shortly.

-Kyelin, Cindy is fine. Good idea playing the medic, and also taking the Carl Gustav - again, it might be useful. I'll add her to the OP too.

I'll mark the OP as closed to new applications, as we've got a good few people here already and I think it's a good size. Rultaos, go ahead and post up your character whenever you can, and we'll start after you've got them up.
I'm going to be doing a training course most days this week, unless I get any news about work (I'm currently living the life of the unemployed), so it might take a little while for me to post the IC, but there's no massive rush.

I hate to be a bother, but if it's posted from Tuesday morning to Thursday evening, I'll have no way of responding, as not only am I on a trip to the south of France for Latin class, but my laptop will finally be getting repairs after a catastrophic fan incident half a year ago. Hope this doesn't pose too much of a problem!

And war drives technology so the reason right now it's so expensive is just cause it's not really a focus...but if we were in a third world war tech like that would be more focused on so it would be cheaper and more readily mass produced so everyone would have them, but at the very least spec ops would. You have to remember, WW1 and WW2 gave us the biggest leaps in technology up until those points. A lot of what we have today were by products of war. So if there was a thrid world war chances are we would be more advanced now then we are.

Quite frankly, I wasn't really looking for a discussion - I want you to change them to regular NVG's, or take them off of your character sheet. I don't like them, and they don't fit the feel or mood I'm looking for in my game world.

You know those cool eye pieces in the modern warfare games...those are real as well btw XD and so are the rods of god(I think that is what they are called in the game) was a project initiated during the cold war, it was only shut down cause the cold war ended. But they would of worked as they did in the games...that is the real scary thing.

Again war drives technology, we would have improved versions of these by now if we were in a third world war.

Ahh dude,they were put in the game bacause they are real...it's all stuff for the future soldier program that was started about about 8 years ago in response to Iraq. Before that it was the cold war the drove tech, if we went from the cold war right into a third world war(Like what this RP is about) we would have better tech then that. I'm military dude...I know a lot about this stuff cause I've seen a lot of it.

The cold war drove technology because there was money to throw around. In a total war scenario as in the RP, all spare resources would go into replacing assets and development would likely be even slower than in peacetime.
