As desired then, so it comes to one last question, is the huntsman able to slip behind the kobold fighting Orchid, going about the left side? It is but twenty-five feet of movement and a diagonal step down to do so but I wished to be certain the pillar rising to the ceiling of the cave is not somehow blocking that step or that if the creature has some sort of special ability that it is triggered by him approaching. Do let me know and that should cover the sum of questions before the post, @Hekazu.

@The Harbinger of Ferocity

The pillar could be in the way, but considering how allied fighters are only difficult terrain, diagonals come with no added cost and the high flying kobold is too far to get an opportunity attack, it looks like to me he could make the movement by going around the right side too. Reaching said square is thus entirely possible.

Oh, we were using the flanking rule? I had forgotten. Doesn't matter in this case even if we hadn't been by the order of the rolls. Either way, target is slain and we move on to Torus's turn. Who seems to miss with a natural one. I'll be writing the post shortly.

You land your attacks, @Lucius Cypher, the second having the desired wing cutting impact.

Combat is over. Quiet returns to the cavern as the Fog Cloud slowly dissipates and Torus's giant, snickering hyena form looks to you for your next move. @The Harbinger of Ferocity@Ryonara@Lucius Cypher@Norschtalen

Fortunate then that went so quickly, on to the next as appropriate then. If I recall, there are two branching paths through the fungus riddled cave, @Hekazu?

Indeed. The whole floor is more or less covered in shrooms like a forest would be in undergrowth, two paths having been treaded into the sea of fungi. One straight onward from the stairs that head down without the need to leap ten feet, the other further away to the side.

If we aren’t being pressed forward, Parum would take a moment to investigate the area for any traps or ambushes. 14

The area you are currently in or where you are heading to?

If we head towards the mushrooms. Anything around there like in the mushrooms, at the bottom of the steps, or even the steps themselves. Kobolds are tricky creatures and I wouldn’t be surprised if they took advantage of their flying ability to avoid ground based traps like trip wires or pressure plates.

On a related note, given the huntsman has a keen, animal nose, would it be possible to scent trail which path is more heavily used or does the ambient environment of the pervasive damp, dark cave and its mushrooms blot all of that out? I am an assuming a Perception check if it is even possible to glean which way is the most likely used, @Hekazu?

I have the information you glean from your investigation at hand. I'm just going to need a Perception check to go with that Investigation before I hand them over.

Perception sounds right to me. What happens with Parum may however affect it.

I rolled a 15 for perception. Kyra will be looking the same place as everyone else.

Thank you @Ryonara.

The stairs look fine to you, but as far as it comes to the trails you are rather convinced that something is off with them. They do not look the same, but you just cannot place your finger on what causes that exactly. Perhaps @The Harbinger of Ferocity can help you out there?

You note a loose stone slab on the stairs. The two to go before you were lucky for it to not send them sliding to the sea of fungi.

I see. If the slab is meant for us to fall into the fungi, than there is probably something off about them. Kyra would warn the others about this of course, and inform them of her own misgivings about the mushrooms. Is there another path we could take? Ideally one that doesn't have us go through mushrooms?

As far as you can see, the entirety of this hallway is covered in them with the exception of the two pathways. Unless you missed something before this point, there do not seem to be other ways forward @Norschtalen. Would you like to make an IC post of the warning?

And just to be clear, Ashkar Brannor is still welcome to make the Perception check.

That he certainly will, with a pair of 20, as odd as that is, 20, with the latter only applying to anything that could be gleaned by hearing or scent; not that it matters in this case, mind you! Either way, is anything else discovered by Brannor, @Hekazu?

He is able to note what the difference missed by Parum was. The left path has signs of being used much more recently than its alternative.
