If he can get his attack before his next turn begins, he’ll still get to maintain his rage, since holding an action means my turn hasn’t quiet yet ended.

That is not how it works. Once you end your turn, your turn ends. Readying an action is not exempt from this basic function of initiative. You specifically ready yourself to act outside of your turn by using your reaction.

Hmm. This puts me in a difficult situation. But one I can solve, with some silliness. I’ll have a post up soonish.

There we go! If I can’t hurt any enemies right now, I’ll hurt myself instead! I took damage so my rage is maintained.

So uh... I'd like to point out for those of you who may not have noticed... Torus took stares down to a caged in area... which is where the Kobold and the draconian creatures are... behind a caged door... that iirc... is locked. The Ravine is a giant locked cage.

I figured that’s why Parum said to ignore it. The drakes can’t open the door themselves and aren’t an immediate threat, whereas we might get enemies coming through to investigate the commotion. Kobold was killed by Parum too so he can’t unlock the cages.

The problem is, is that they are all making noise, which they were likely to do the moment the kobols went there and combat carried with them. So we probably should kill them as expediently as possible by cornering them and massacring the scaled things.

I would rather that the noise from the drakes bring kobolds to investigate instead of us running into the next room where they’re bunkered down or have already laid their traps. Right now the kobolds don’t have any particular reason to expect that there are intruders; for all they know the drakes could be making a ruckus just because a kobold were annoying them or they’re hungry. If we focus solely on killing the drakes that would leave us open to whoever comes to investigates, sees that invaders have made it inside, then turn around and warn the whole cave.

The drakes are a distraction but we shouldn’t let them distract us. They aren’t going anywhere in their cages so they’re not a threat, we can kill them after we make sure anything that could let them free is also dead.

If we aren't intent on killing them here and then now, is it a motion to now end combat in that case? Seeing as no one is any longer set to actively attacking them anymore and no members are in combat with them, other than Orchid ritualistically carving himself as all other attacks are held, are there any objections?

I don't mind taking some cover and getting ready for the enemy to come. If anyone needs healing Kyra can offer her magic too.

So you would be looking to leave the initiative order behind yourselves, is that it? If so, I'm going to also need the opinion of the barbarian whose rage it might concern the most, that being Orchid @Lucius Cypher. No new enemies have arrived to the scene yet.

Hnnnn. If there isn’t any enemies coming through, I guess I’ll join everyone out of iniative too. I got two more uses of rage left so I’m not in any danger of running short, but we should move quickly. Unlike a bat swarm I’m sure the cultists might think something is up from th drake roars so we should heal up and get ready to move on. Keep an eye out for traps too, naturally.

All right then, we shall consider ending the initiative order here and now. How do you prepare for your next move everyone? It may affect what is going to come to pass next.

If we’re going to lay in ambush, Orchid will try to hide in wait, likely by climbing the wall above the western entrance so he can get the literal drop on the enemy. He’ll keep a dagger in his mouth so he’ll have his hands free for climbing but he’ll drop it into his hands once a fight starts.

Brannor will wait as well unless someone asks something of him. He is not at all convinced this move was in their favor and would much rather kill the creatures rather than hope their noises go unnoticed or die down. That said, he'll be watching and waiting.

I recently got some rather bad news in my life, and that's weighing me down. I may be once again slow to respond, and will likely need to take a bit of time to sort some things out. DMing, as much as this is a module, is taking a toll greater than your usual RP does. So if I'm not responding as quickly as you may have come to expect, or pass the time limitations that we have all agreed upon on, I can only ask you to forgive the transgression.

Anyhow, now that I am here, I'll point out that the cage door does indeed have a keyhole @Ryonara. It's one of those old fashioned heavy open from both ends types, and rather large at that. Stuffing it may not be impossible, but it'll take a bit of time and opening it again takes more force and less fine manipulation as you might desire. If you commit to the task, you will get it mostly done by the time the next event takes place. This acceptable?

Who is it now we are awaiting to hear from? It has been a fair bit since combat has effectively ended.

Aye, that would be me. I have a slot free in my schedule tomorrow, and I hope I can use it for this to not keep you hanging any longer.

No need to worry at least from my lot, the question has been answered. Time can be granted in such a case as needed, the Dungeon Master is only minorly, utterly responsible for the game so I can make concessions at times. Humor aside, here is to hoping we do not receive a number of uninvited guests to the non-encounter.
