Prologue

Camlann City, a small city on the far western coast of Britain, set upon a gigantic hill overlooking the ocean. It doesn't seem too different from any other British city, some local specialities, quirky neighbors, and demons. Demon hunting was a business some people came here for, either assigned a job outside of it to exterminate one within this city, or a demon hunter who lives here goes out to do the weekly cleanup. Despite this reputation, it isn't the home of any demon hunting agency, well until today... Or tomorrow... Well to be quite honest, this demon hunter hasn't decided on a name for his store quite yet.

Set upon some old speakers in a seemingly run-down and dusty old storefront was some old rock, seemed local. Doesn't look like it was worth much at all, maybe from a bargain bin. The old dusty floors seemed to creak voluntarily, yet for the moment they creaked with the sound of footsteps. Dust swept up with each light step, shoes of a quality and brand worth ten heavens above whatever these old floorboards were worth stood before a worn-down desk that the man living here was just given as a donation.

"This store ain't open yet, besides...", the one seated behind the desk reached for the gun on the table. Within a flash the barrel was already pointed at the visitor.

"We don't serve demons here". The visitor laughed, placing his hand at his chest, mimicking a sincere laugh, before dusting off his shoulder.

"Now now, perhaps we... Did not get off on the right foot, an invitation", he states, pulling out a letter, and throwing it between his fingers, sending it flying like a disk. The man with the gun caught it with his free hand.

"A dear friend wishes you to see an important event. I daresay it is in your interest to attend... Mordred", the well-dressed man smiled as he stated so. His fine features, so perfect in complexion and shape, like straight out of a sculptor's store. For some reason this smile was no less than unnerving, but Mordred, the man who he had addressed, was unfazed. He spun the revolver, then set it upon the table again. Now looking to the letter.

"Get out of here", was all he said. With a bow the man turned to exit the store.

The shuffling of armor and a low hum of energy filled the street on front of the store. The dead of morning was scarce of people, and so there was no one to witness these knightly demons standing here.

"Raze it", said the man, before walking off. Within moments the store was lit up, blades and pillars of light igniting explosions as the whole store was barraged, lasting a good dozen seconds before the dust settled. The noise rang throughout the street, people at least a dozen or twenty feet away were staring at the scene, some even calling authorities, or whatever they could. Normally, people saw one or two demons once in awhile in this city, and generally easy to avoid, but this... Was a whole squad of maybe several or a dozen.

There was silence, the knights appeared satisfied with their work, yet before they could turn and leave...

"To my dear friend, Mordred", the knights turned to the rubble as a hand emerged, pushing away a bit of loose wood,

"I write this letter to you in regards to my arrival in the city of Camlann. I was informed...", as Mordred read the letter, he was rising up from the debris, dusting himself up.

"That you were within this city. I have left it to Merlin to find you and deliver this letter to you, in good will. I hope it finds you well, for I would like to extend my invitation to you, for a momentous occasion in my rise, as a king of demons", the knight demons were on guard, ready for a fight.

"Yeah good will my ass... As jovial as ever Arthur. Now... Hm?" As Mordred was pulling out his sword Black Pride from the rubble, he noticed a bit at the end.

"P.S, I send to you a representation of my dearest dedication to being a demon king. Please, help yourself to my minions", shaking his head Mordred crushed the letter and threw it away. One of the knights fired a premature shot, the blast of light flew straight towards the black-garbed Mordred, yet diverted mid-flight. In a low stance and gun just outside of it's holster, smoking... The demon was taken aback, realizing what just happened, and the kind of person they were just sent to fight.

"I guess that makes you all disposable, well then, I'll just have to remember to ask Arthur to compensate me for this!"

Camlann City, Main Road > City Square

The streets of Camlann early in the morning were quiet, dipped in dew with a light, cool mist pervading over it. The stone streets of the sleepy British city painted an old-fashioned picture of grays and blues, as the strikingly white and gold figure stepped through it. As he walked through the quiet streets, he looked to the sky, the human world was as he remembered. The only reason he could go to and from the human world and demon world, was the work of Merlin's powerful magic, else it would be impossible.

He looked around for a few moments upon reaching the city square. Set upon the middle was a gigantic fountain, with a huge statue diorama of some kind of goddess of water. Yes, afterall, Camlann was named for it's many twisting rivers. The 'crooked land' as it were. Yet he was informed by Merlin this place had a special property for him, and he felt it too.

He raised his hand, clicking his fingers. The snap felt loud enough that it appeared to echo off of the buildings themselves.

Emerging from the mist behind him was a small legion of demons, a few unique faces, and a number of knight-like demons. Amongst this number were his knights, and at the foremost was his most trusted, Gawain. He turned, and yet before he could speak, appearing from a glowing portal just several feet away from him was a well-dressed man.

"Merlin, just in time. I trust my good friend Mordred did not give you trouble?"

"Not at all my king, one of his lowborn status and borrowed power could never give me any such trouble",

"Careful what you say. He's always been a tenacious one", he warned. Merlin smiled and laughed slightly,

"For someone who betrayed this dear friend, you speak highly of him", Arthur closed his eyes in thought, before responding to Merlin's remark.

"Of course, but I made my choice. I do not regret it. I have a vision to carry out after all", speaking of which... The reason he was here. He set his hand outstretched to his side, before a blade of light formed, and then fully materialized as his main weapon, the Caliburn. A sword with a radiant blade. He flourished it before setting it into the ground before him.

"By the right of destiny and my blood, open to me, the gates of my fate", as soon as he finished the chant, the sword he held within his hand seemed to cause a pool of gold to emanate beneath his feet, before the fountain itself began to be enveloped in a golden light. And then in not long, the entire square, and some distance around it also began to be bathed in light. And soon the light swallowed all until only white was left.

After some excruciating moments, Arthur, Merlin, and his knights, stood in the middle of a court, with a throne set upon the end. It seemed all too real, yet after a moment... It rippled, and the city of Camlann came into view for but a moment.

"It appears I may need a stronger... Key. No matter... Now if you told me correctly Merlin, having done this, this town has become a portal to the demon world too hasn't it?",

"Not one of full power, but one of considerable power. It should go away after a few days perhaps. If I may recall, before we left for the human world, several demons and demon lords were on our tail weren't they?", he answers.

"That is true... Then very well. I am done here. Knights, you have your job for today", he says, pulling the sword out of the ground, the entire castle they stood in disappearing as he did.

"Eliminate all of our enemies"

Exciting, the RP has finally begun.
For the moment, I will describe the situation in Camlann City.

Demons have begun appearing at a large capacity. Even attracting lord demons. Currently, or rather, shortly after the scene above, the city is being evacuated.

For now, everyone is loose in the city, moments before demons begin appearing en masse.

Time and locations were changing for Kosara and she was only vaguely aware of it all. Her defenses were all up should she get attacked though. Still on the bus right now aside her and the driver there was no one else. Still she was sitting in the furthest seats at the back, her luggage with her, not leaving it in the luggage area on the bottom of the bus. She was currently streatched across hte entire roll of seats at the back, hugging a big long bag was nearly her height. It was clearly a long narrow object in there and probably didn't take a rocket scientist to figure out what was in it.

The ride overall had been incredibly pleasant, all things considered. It had lasted for longer than 24 hours with a few transfers from one bus to another. Thus she spend the majority of the time in this journey sleeping on the back seats or reading a book because otherwise she couldn't stay on a single place for more than 10 minutes before freaking out.

Finally though she woke up for the last time before the end of her journey. She threw a look at the windows of the bus, seeing the weather outside and the fact that they appeared to be entering the city now, then in a sleepy manner pulled her phone to confirm the time." Hey, how much further to Camlann City's station?" Kosara called out loudly so she's heard by the driver all the way from the last seats where she was still currently laying sleepily. The reply came fast and it was just a simple few minutes." Alright... guess there's no point in asking to drop me off somewhere on the way since we are so close already..." She mused.

Thus she pulled her earbuds and put some music to play, as she put her phone away into a secured with a zipper pocket of her jacket so only the earbuds cable's sticking out. Thus with music in her ears, she relaxed back into the seats, one hand resting onto the long bag and the other resting on the holster that was attached to her hip. She was smiling, her eyes no longer seeming sleepy as she just softly moved her head with the rythm of the music.

"As our lord wills it"
Gawain

A fact Gawain had learned growing up was that the truth wasn't often a pretty thing. Learning early on that he was considered no better than cattle, that the circumstances behind his birth were... unpleasant, and that he was powerless to defy his father -- these were all ugly truths that he was forced to understand. Though it was still a fact that, on occasion, the truth was pretty.

It probably isn't hard to guess just which 'truth' Gawain thought was most beautiful. But even then, ugly truths still remain. And today, just like every day, Gawain was forced to recall a certain truth he'd much rather be without:

...That he was most certainly not what you would consider a 'morning person'.

Every day was the same, regardless of how much sleep he got, or the quality of it. Sure as the sun would rise each morning, Gawain would fail to do so with any sort of enthusiasm. It mattered not if he slept well, if his bed was made of legoes or fit for royalty, in the end, when morning came and Gawain was to escape his slumber, he would do so looking more akin to a zombie than anything. Of course this wasn't so bad that it'd be a threat to his life. Were danger afoot, he would be able to rise to the occasion... it's just that rising to anything else required more effort than he'd like.

Nevertheless, Gawain did not allow this... undesirable trait of his conflict with his duties as a knight. He made sure he was there for anything and everything he was needed for, to the point where most probably didn't know about that side of him. But that was all the better. He had no desire to look bad in front of his king. That is why, when he appeared alongside the rest of the knights, the only thing he allowed other people to see upon his features was a stoic expression fitting of a loyal knight who was awaiting orders.

While his expression remained immovable, and he spoke not a word while Arthur and Merlin spoke, Gawain couldn't help but mentally gush at the situation. Years ago, he would never have thought he would be blessed to serve a king destined for greatness. But here he was, with the rest of the knights and demons, watching evidence of just that! And sure, things weren't exactly prepared just yet, but it was merely a matter of time before Arthur's vision was made true. To be a part of that, it brought Gawain joy he couldn't properly express.

That is why Gawain almost found it pointless to bother saying anything in response. In his case, it was a given that when Arthur's desires were vocalized, that Gawain would simply comply. Yet, it was still a fact that the knight leaned into a small bow and voiced "As you wish." in regards to their orders.

Wasting no time, he set off to do what was asked. Those that oppose Arthur's reign would come to regret doing so, Gawain would make sure of that.

Camlann City Outskirts

@rivaan

The landscape outside the bus began to change from the lush landscape of the British countryside, dulled greens and blues, with the occasional gray sticking out as a quarry of stones sat upon hills, to a more overwhelming amount of gray with the stone roads curating the suburban areas, leading into the city. Camlann City was not a very big city, and so once you were on this road, it wasn't a long few minutes until they were at the bus station, however, the lone young lady that boarded this bus would find herself taking perhaps the good chunk of her day to get there.

Like a banana being peeled, the roof of the bus came clean off as the wind suddenly rushed through Kosara's hair, followed by the sound of wingbeats. Looking up, a gigantic eagle the size of a small airliner jet ripped the roof off. A strange wildlife, was this normal in Camlann? No matter. It seems the bus came to a halt regardless. The bus driver was speechless, but up ahead, Kosara could see that the road was blocked. Various destroyed cars heaped up, as some humanoid-looking beasts stood around it, noticing them the bus driver was prepared to just turn it around, but his passenger was not so eager to turn tail. She had her reasons to come here.

Draugr, a kind of demon horde that was under the command of a demon from Wind Hell. There were around several of them, but with enemies this weak, their numbers didn't matter all that much.

Camlann City, Main Street

@FamishedPants

The knights scattered in different directions around the square. Unbeknownst to them though, Arthur had already informed Merlin that he was going for a stroll around the area. Gawain had heard once before... This place had some meaning to Arthur. But what meaning? He felt today he may learn what this meaning was. Regardless... Before him was his duty. As he patrolled the main street, he watched as some people scramble away, giving him a look before running, and then within the darkness of the alleyways, screams. Curious. Were there demons here already? Before he could move or react, a kind of cold mist began to pervade the area around him. In this land, such mists were not unusual, but what was unusual, was their spontaneity. Within the mist, shadows lurked, darting from one side of Gawain to the other, before attempting to strike.

As soon as their attack was repelled they jumped back and away, revealing their form. The look of these demons was strange... They seemed normal at first, on all fours, but after some moments, Gawain noticed their mouths were able to stretch ungodly wide, and a glow within their abyss-like mouths, a glow similar to energy... He knew not their origin, but they seemed simple enemies. This will not be more than a minute.

Mesmund reached for the bell on the handle of the bike out of boredom. The ring was like a weak scream of a sick, dying chicken-simply not satisfying. It was a long trip to Camlann city on an old bike, with nobody but him and his little demon friend to talk to, and the road. He might’ve seen some demons as he passed, but the hunter was too concentrated on pedaling the bike that he could ignore those creatures waiting to be slain. In his mind was a simple static, a result of over an hour of going through streets and highways on the ancient bike he had been keeping for an unknown reason.

“This is taking ages.”
He complained to himself just when the sign to Camlann city appeared in front of him. The man-devil shrugged. What an appreciable timing. Just then, he felt something bulging out of his shoulder. His demon friend’s avatar. It made no sound, but the thoughts were audible in his mind. Usual reminders not to get himself killed, and the questioning of his goal at this city. They may have talked about that more than a few times on their way there, only Mezz couldn’t pull out a straight answer. A random broker suggested? Not valid. Some fresh air? He always roamed around. Maybe it was some unexplainable destiny calling him.
“Hell, maybe there would be the fast food chain of my life there waiting for me.”
He told himself. Possibilities were endless.

Kosara

Day was off to a flying start it seemed... literally as a big bird thing scooped down and tore the entire roof of the bus. Kosara, still laying on the back seats in a relaxed manner, rose an eyebrow at the apparent absurdity of the situation as the bird went away and all. With music rocking in her ears and wind gently caressing her face, she noticed something ahead that had spooked the driver. There they were... demons... Things like these were the reason why she had come to this city, it seems her concerns about the situation here were rightly warrented. With a smile on her face, she hopped up from the seat and with a trained movement, the zipper on the long thing bag she had was undone, revealing a long curved sword. It was light blue, kind of unnatural looking and if close enough one could sense the air moving gently around it. She grabed it as she dashed forward into the bus, jumping ontop of the seat then right out the torn off roof and outside onto the road.

She landed with easy as she smiled at the demons. These ones looked and WERE lesser type of demons. They weren't really sentient in a proper way. Barely more than beasts. She drew the sword from it's sheath as the air current around the sword changed and from the soft gentle flow it became stronger." It wasn't a waste to come after all, back to the demon world you go, bastards." She smiled as she dashed forward. She hadn't yet pulled a range weapon, she didn't see the need for it yet. There were 7 of the lesser draugr. She dashed to the first one with Whispers in the Wind right away and slashed at it with a vengeance. She hadn't build any momentum yet, so the dash itself wasn't the fastest. Still for enemies of this grade it was enough.

Her sword slashed at the demon and cut through a portion of it, but it didn't cleave it in one go yet. Then a retaliation came and she dodged away, building a lil bit of momentum as she struke at another of the demons. Her sword didn't make contact directly, but the weapon's natural ability propelled the wind forward, giving it extra range, cutting at hte demon, leaving a deep gash at it. She Then continued to dodge around and strike, dodge around and strike, pulling all of the draugr closer to one another. After a couple of hte dodges, her speed only increased even further because of her momentum build up, she started to leave afterimages. The demons were being cut apart though, it was innevitable even if she was trying to keep them going for longer. When they were all well damaged, she pulled her crossbow and dashed at the closest lesser draugr, jumping at and landing with both feet on it's head. Then she jumped further into the air, using it as a stepping stone, before pulling her sylph crossbow and using the recoil to push herself even further up. With enought air gained, she switched to holding her sword with both hands as her body suddenly turned in the air and she spun... She then started spinning even faster as her sword propelled air across the blade, sending a masive amount of slashes downwards at the clustered up lesser draugr as she did. She spun over 10 times in the air and additional one as she landed, turning all the lesser draugr into scattered pieces.

She took a victory stance and swung her blade one last time, causing the violent energies build up inside it to be discharged harmlessly and the blade's energy calmed down before she sheathed it up, strapping it to her back as it was a really long sword in the end and not suitable to wear at the waist.

"And set..." She stated as the battlefield returned to normal. Yeah demon hunting was the best. She now was at a choice though, where to go next? Might as well head deaper into the city and see if she could find more demons running amok to kill. It could even net her a nice payment maybe while she was busy saving out people. And saving people was important! "Maybe it would better to kill the demons before they can arrive in the human world?" She asked herself as she started walking, pondering the idea.

Camlann City Outskirts, East

@AlternateMan

The not-so-well-off man and devil hunter, a familiar profession and state, trudged along the road to the city. Eventually reaching a small diner just on the fringe of the outer suburbs. It was a simple diner, offering breakfast at this early hour, although unusually, there seemed to be some kind of deal for strawberry parfaits. Could he afford to stop by and get a bite to eat? Regardless of this, it was a good time to stop and rest anyways. Leaving his bike for but a minute, walking towards the diner with some hope he can maybe buy something here, before he heard the crumpling of steel. Turning around, he saw his old, beloved bike, completely destroyed. Standing above it, was what would immediately be identified as a demon.

A zombie-like and grotesque creature, with a vague form like a human's. Draugr, they were. More would emerge from the mist behind it too, just a few more, holding large poles or blades. That said... The streets of Camlann City's suburbs, were deathly quiet. Something was not right around here.

"Onward!"
Gawain

If the terrorized citizens and screaming didn't make it obvious enough that he was about to be attacked, the abnormally fast-forming mist that covered the area had certainly done so. Gawain took a defensive stance right as the beasts launched their attempted ambush on him, their attacks not managing to even scratch him. The knight couldn't help but want to yawn. Judging by their attacks, these things wouldn't even be a proper warm up.

But they are an eyesore, I suppose.

As they bared their true forms before him, he sighed. "Spoiling for a fight, are you?" he retrieved his Devil Arm, Hades, and kept it in the more agile, Kusarigama mode. With a quick flick, one of the blades was sent flying towards one of the beasts, embedding itself in it and then, as Gawain yanked it back to him, dragging the poor demon along. The knight let loose a few quick slashes with his weapon, then swung it in such a way that the monster was launched skywards. Gawain immediately retrieved another weapon of his, a bat, and as gravity came into effect and forced the monster back down to Earth, he gave a few swings of the bat before winding up for a larger hit, knocking the thing away, towards its companions, who barely managed to scramble out of the way. Smiling almost innocently, the knight continued. "Then I'll be happy to oblige!"

Having turned the camera back to the others so they would attack seen one of their allies knocked around with little difficulty, a more rational being would probably have fled. But due to some real courage, or more likely: foolishness, they seemed to be even more riled up than when they attacked. This spurred them into all coming at Gawain at once, an action that further reinforced the idea that these things weren't exactly bright.

Gawain readied his guard as the four came after him in quick succession. He blocked the first three strikes, but brought his bat up for the last one, effortlessly deflecting the demon's attack and leaving it wide open. Abusing the chance, Gawain made an upwards swing with his bat and launched the foe helplessly into the sky, where he followed and did not relent on the thing, the blades of Hades making fast arcs in the air, his victim being shredded to pieces. When he fell back down to the ground, he did so between the remaining three demons.

"You're a rather scrawny bunch, aren't you?" he quipped, clenching his fist. As he did so, one notably sought to attack him. But before it could, it found itself reeling back from a blow to the face it hadn't expected. It was dazed briefly but was quick to recover, but it then noticed that Gawain had something glowing in his grasp. He didn't hold onto it long because as the beast would immediately (and unfortunately) find out, this glowing thing was what hit it before. And as the ball collided with the demon again, it flew into the air. Gawain, however, did not simply wait for it to return. In a more proactive approach, he turned and immediately slashed at the beast behind him, who was about to strike him, and then following that, blocked another attack from the third monster to his side. Abusing the AI low intelligence of these demons, he essentially repeated those actions two more times, having caught the pop fly, bouncing it off that same demon, then interrupting the attack behind him, and then guarding against the final attack.

But although it was quite entertaining to see that he could provoke these guys into a simple pattern by exposing his back to them and giving them a false opportunity, it was getting rather repetitive for his taste. Come the fourth round of this whole routine, he opted instead to switch Hades to its scythe mode and place the blade behind the monster he typically struck, pulling it closer to him. He then quickly positioned himself behind that monster, managing to catch the flaming ball at the last moment, and then threw it one final time at the nearest monster, it ricocheting off of all three of them. The poor soul that had been pelted repeatedly did not survive this attack, collapsing from the hit itself. Luckily for it, the other two weren't far behind. As the ball neared its final target, it detonated with great force, obliterating the final two foes.

"I am rather loathe to consider the fact that such unworthy beings might be considered potential enemies of my lord." he sighed in disappointment. Gawain did not want to sound like someone who discriminates, but at the very least, those who were pitifully weak should show some due respect and not throw away their lives just to be minor inconveniences. Especially if their doing so might even slightly impede Arthur's goal.

Yet as he thought this, something emerged from the mist at an insane speed, attempting to behead him. Gawain raised his hand at the very last second to defend himself. "Oho? Admirable tenacity you display." he almost seemed surprised to see the demon that had attacked him. It was, of course, one of the pack from just a second ago. Because he had little interest in them, it wasn't like Gawain was an expert a picking individuals from a crowd, but judging by the blunt trauma this creature obviously received, he would guess that this was the one he attacked first. It didn't exactly look like it was in the best health. In fact, he was impressed this thing hadn't simply keeled over after its failed attempt. It was clinging for dear life.

"A good show, to be sure." Gawain respectfully bowed to his opponent, who stumbled over towards him, while Gawain showed no signs of stopping. With a tremendous amount of effort, it raised its arm to attack and....

...perished.

The moment the blow would've landed on Gawain, he thrust his arm out, expending all of the energy he'd built up while defending over the course of the fight.

Now that there were no other demons present, Gawain resumed his walk. "At the very least, I seem to be headed the right way." he figured.

Prologue - Mordred

The silver knights found themselves shuffling between themselves, trying to catch the black blur that was Mordred. It seems each time they seemed to hit him he was somewhere else instead, immediately planting a bullet square in their skulls, bypassing their shields. After eviscerating one with a well-placed strike through it's torso, and another with a bullet to the back of the head, three of the remaining five Estoc Fortes backed away and aimed their rifle arms at him, light welling up in the barrels, before overtaking it completely, and then a brilliant line of light shot straight for Mordred. A single swing sliced all three of the shots, causing them to disperse into slivers of light. The demons were almost shocked at what they witnessed.

"Alright, my turn", almost in response the demons raised their shields, as Mordred's sword, the Black Pride, filled with a brilliant crimson energy, before being fired off in a horizontal pattern. The beam struck all three shields at once, but as soon as they lowered them, Mordred was nowhere to be seen. Before any of them could figure out where he'd gone, the middle of the formation felt a swing of a blade, ripping through it, ending it thoroughly. As the two turned, another fell... Or rather, launched into the air, meeting a flurry of bullets as Mordred unloaded a whole clip within but a second, it's body parts and armor splintering as it turned to silver debris. Mordred immediately turned his gun to the last one, it's shield was already raised, but with a smirk he flick a switch on his gun the Absolver, and the lower barrel burst. It was a shotgun. The shield was completely shattered, and before the demon could even stagger it was run through with his blade, cutting off it's arm, and grabbing the shield.

He turned immediately, in time to catch the two blasts from the remaining two knight-like demons, their lasers bouncing right off the shield. As quickly as the two blasts bounced away, he laid the shield, slamming it into the ground, placing one foot upon it before launching himself with the other. Mid way through the slide towards the two demons, he kicked the shield yet again, launching it along the ground, sweeping the two remaining demons off their feet and into the air as he slid beneath them, both guns ready. One gun for each, planting shots into their exposed and shocked bodies. It was hard to count how many shots were fired, but one thing was certain, by the time their faces slammed into the pavement, they were already dead.

As the dust cleared, Mordred stood up, dusting off his coat after putting away his weapons. He looked at his handiwork, dusting his hands off too, he noticed a bright light towards the center of the city, and the image of what seemed to be a brilliant white-gold castle. That must be where he is...

"I didn't take Arthur the type to make so many new friends. Guess I'll go out and meet them", with that, Mordred left behind the rubble that was his new store, and

The demons were no match for Kosara, such was an experienced demon hunter. As she rested her blade, there was but silence, and peeking from the roofless bus, was a scared bus driver. His face though, was more in disbelief at what he was seeing than anything else. As just any normal people he had heard of demons, but never would he have imagined to see one. He wasn't sure if he wanted to say anything to that lady he thought was just someone travelling to see her old parents or something. Still, before anything could be said, a breeze swept through the road.

To any normal person, it'd just be an unexpected gale, but for Kosara... Her demon blood called to her. This wind, was both familiar, and unknown. Was it related to her mother? Or was it someone calling to her? Regardless of this, something called to her.

Up ahead beyond the blockade was the way into the suburbs along the main street. Peeking beyond it she could see it was mostly clear for how far she can see, almost as if this group of demons she had slain were not for rampaging, but for deterrence... Someone didn't want to be disturbed while they were doing something here. There was only one road to take here, unless she wanted to head back the way she came.

Camlann City, Main Road

@FamishedPants

The mist cleared, as the last demon fell and disappeared into a wisp of black dust, leaving behind talisman signs written in magic. A very peculiar way to go out, as most just turned to dust or exploded. He did not recognize the signs, but it seemed oriental in nature. Before he could take another step, his attention was grabbed by the yell of a young boy, looking at him in fear. Based on what he saw prior... And heard, this was the young boy being whisked away by his mother, yet she was nowhere to be seen. So he is now orphaned...? Or maybe a parent still yet lives.

His duty was to prevent any enemies passing through the main road, or so he thought, he heard the flap of wings. A dove, flew down onto his shoulders, bearing a message. It was from Merlin. Taking the small letter from it's beak, Gawain would begin to read,

"Dear Gawain,

Though you are new, I feel it is beneficial to be making use of you, as you have been anointed as our king's right hand man, it is only natural. My own surveillance network has picked up some rather disconcerting readings near you. Little doubt you have already run into some of these demons I am picking up, but their patterns are strange. Please, do go and dispatch of them.

Do not worry about defending our king for the time being however, for he has decided to go on a... Stroll. If I recall he and an old friend of his has some history with this town. Perhaps he is visiting. Well in any case, worry not. He is under my watch after all.

From, Merlin

The letter turned to soft, blue flames, before turning to ash. Well his orders were clear, and within his vicinity too. If he recalled, this area was host to a large shopping center and bus station connected to it. Still, even with his directive clear, it seems the young boy left here was transfixed with him, a combination of fear and shock. If truly it was his mother that was killed, then he was not likely to just get up and recover from it.

Kosara

Kosara took a deep breath as the battle had ended. She threw a glance at the driver and waved his hand to him in a manner telling him to get going, preferrably as far away from this city as possible. If mook demons rampaged like this and there was even a barricade set up, heck then there was the big bird thing too. There was something really bad going on in this city. It appeared quite the more serious than she had expected originally. Well good for her, more money, more dead demons and she'd get to sleep better tonight... Maybe.

Just as she was about to get going again, a gust of wind reached and washed over her. Her eyes narrowed menacingly as she sensed the demonic energies in the air. Her demonic blood was stirring up at hte sensation, it felt so familiar... and somehow unknown still. She could almost feel a calling and the demonic blood coarsing through her vein was reacting to it. The blood of her mother was calling out to follow. She frowned for a moment and then started walking further into the city. With a few jumps she was across the barricade and staring at the empty road. Well... someone had put guards in place by the looks of it.

Adjusting the volume on her mp3 player, she jumped from the barricade and started walking down the street deeper into the city. There was no point in going back, especially now that she knew there were demons rampaging about. She had work to do, a duty and a pleasure at hte same time. Though admittedly she could do for some food too... Thus she decided to keep her eyes open in case she finds a food stand or restaurant or something. chances were it would be abandoned, but hey maybe not and even if it was, she could still grab somethign from a store if she passed by one. Still she really wondered what this sensation she felt was... and who caused it. Was it connected to her mother in some fashion? If so... could it be... the one she always wanted to find? Now she was filled with anticipation.

Mesmund's bike was powerless against the lesser demon devastating it with ease. The hunter, noticing a little interference in his search for a nice early breakfast and means of travel, reached deep into his flesh of chains with his human arm. From within he grabbed a handle and whipped out his trusty weapon. Chains extended after the handle, with the arm finally spitting out a giant head of a flail and exposing the weapon fully into the morning air.
"You want some fun, huh?"
He said. He flexed his left arm and pointed at the closest demon with the hand.
"You most certainly earned it."
Chains shot out of his arm and tied around the demon. It flinched, waiting to be pulled, only to see the fully armed hunter fly straight towards it. The figure stopped right in front of it. The flail's head hovered in the air for a split second from the momentum, before it rocketed down to the monster. The weapon slammed the poor creature against the cold floor, delivering another blow shortly after. Then another. Exactly seven hits sent it slightly deeper into the ground, the power growing with each impact, until the devil hunter stopped. He poked the motionless body of the monster with his foot a few times. Making sure it wasn't moving at all, he lunged at the second victim of his unexpected hunt. It swung the blade in its hands as a means of protest. The hunter paused his attack midair, and wrapped himself in a layer of demonic chains. The hunter-ball of chains rolled past the Draugr and landed next to it. The chains quickly disappeared, revealing five barrels pointed at the head of the demon. With massive recoil, five shots of demonic chain crushed its face, followed by the flail hitting it from below. The force lifted it into the air. Mesmund followed it up to the air, with his weapon spinning around like a ribbon. The chipped chains of the flail's head tore down the poor Draugr in no time, and the hunter slammed a tattered body to the floor.
"That all?"
He muttered. There were two more left- piece of cake. He threw his fist midair. threads of chains shot out of the arm and planted themselves into the ground between the two surviving demons. Mesmund pulled himself at full force, stunning the two lesser demons for a moment. His chains went for an unlucky victim, and wrapped around the demon and the hunter. the two spun around like a round table, ravaging the other unlucky bystander. After a lap or two, Mesmund fixed himself on the solid ground and slammed the demon down. He could hear the sound of the demon being crushed under the layer of chains. One to go. Mesmund slowly approached the staggering demon, swinging the flail casually in his hands. With only two steps away from each other, the hunter unleashed his finishing move. The flail ripped through the air in all directions, completely shredding the last demon in front of the hunter.

The demons lay dead, crushed and... Well to be frank, they were recognizeable as four demons at the end of Mesmund's pulverisation and retribution for his crumpled bicycle. Watching from the window in the diner though was the owner, wide mouthed at what he watched, just this middle-aged looking man pulling out all these insane demonic chains. He stared not sure in awe or surprise, but in his less-than-ideal composure he stumbled over a chair, catching Mesmund's attention.

It seems the diner was just about to open. Serving breakfast no doubt. "Y-you... Uh, we're open... If you uh... W-w-well just don't... Don't hurt me", the owner was spineless, so it seems.

"B-breakfast's on the house... None of my regulars have s-s-shown up and I think... The... Demons might be why", he continued. So it seems something was happening in this town. Still, was up to Mesmund if he wanted to press on and seek vengeance for his bike, or get a bite to eat first, before doing that.

"Posting in a timely manner, as always."
Gawain

Of course it was only natural someone of his talent would effortlessly dispatch such weak beings. At least the last one had proven to be rather entertaining, but for now, he must carry on, to do his lord's bidding. Yet before he could depart, the young boy's cry took called his attention. It took Gawain a minute, but he did recognize the young lad. The implications of his being alone here were... unfortunate. Another man may grasp to the hope that there might yet be some hope left for him. Perhaps they were merely separated, and nothing more. But as a victim to a bastard of a father for many years before he was graced with his savior, Gawain was not willing to bet on that.

Stopping promptly only to read the letter he was given, Gawain pondered what to do in this situation. Removing these pests was of course a priority, but leaving this small child to fend for himself when he was quite obviously in a terrible state was not something Gawain would allow himself to do. Doing such a heartless thing would be unbecoming.

Gawain approached the boy and dropped to a knee so he could be at eye-level with him. "Hello, young one." his voice was soft. "Are you lost? Alone?" Gawain almost couldn't help but feel embarrassed. Surely the kid saw him fight, otherwise why would he be seem so scared of him? He tried his best to appear as friendly as possible, so as to let the boy know he meant no harm. A warm smile took over his features. "If you would let me, I can lead you to a safer place."

He would still need to carry out his orders in a timely manner. But if protecting this young boy took time, then that simply meant he would need to make quick work of his targets to make up for it.

Mesmund had almost jumped back and reloaded his gun when he heard a chair move. For the bystander's sake, Mesmund was quick enough to realize it was just an average human, who was also conveniently going to open the diner just now. The hunter lazily stuffed the gun back to its holster and scratched his chin. He didn't know, was he hungry after the sudden fight? The loss of his trusty bike and an unexpected assault had only intrigued his curiosity for the city over his hunger for a nice breakfast. Food could wait a bit. Being one with his demon buddy helped out on going a little bit longer without food anyways(though hunger was something he had to manage).
"I'll pass. Food isn't really interesting right now."
Mesmund shook his head, chains around his neck clanking against each other as he did. Instead he turned over to the direction leading deeper towards the city. A little investigation wouldn't hurt at all. Who knows, he might get someone to pay him well to deal with a big game.
"Tell me, is this demon appearance thing common around the place?"
He asked the man.

Camlann City, Downtown

@rivaan

The main road led the young half demon lady to downtown. Deserted, as expected, but also in disrepair. She'd comment on how this place was a dump, but all the damage looks new. Traffic lights upturned or outright smashed and broken, electric wires hanging out exposed, signs scratched by what appeared to be giant claw marks, and a few buildings seemed to have their doors completely destroyed by something. Whoever came through here was not subtle whatsoever.

She took but three steps before she saw a man run out of the movie theatre across from her. It's lights flickering and scratched posters with the words showing the movie, "The Grey", seems this place likes to run classics. Regardless before she could reach out to the man who had spotted her, calling for her help, the growl of beasts interjected.

The man in an instant was set upon by a wolf, with two more appearing from the shadows of the wrecked cars. Huge hulking wolves, that were more akin to lions in size than a wolf. The two wolves were simply securing prey, preventing Kosara from immediately helping the man who was suffice to say, definitely dead as he was dragged into the movie theatre.

The two wolves howled, causing the shadows at the ends of the street to shift. Draugr shuffled from their slumber and more wolves joined the pack.

Camlann City, Main Road

@FamishedPants

The young boy was scared, at first. Whether or not Gawain knew, he did witness him slaying those demons, but he seemed a completely different person helping him now. He nodded silently and got up. A "safer place", he heard. Where in this city could possibly be safe right now? Bringing this boy to be protected by Arthur's legion was out of the question. Perhaps to someplace he can take shelter until the business in the city was over? Based on Merlin's report, demons were all over the streets. Anywhere that was indoors and stayed locked up should be safe... Enough. But question was where.

The only demons not actively breaking into people's homes were Arthur's demons, so it can be safe to assume any house in that area of control was safe. Or perhaps this boy had more family in the city? Well it was up to him. The boy was silent, didn't say a word, or rather, perhaps not sure what to say. This was certainly not an everyday experience after all.

Camlann City Outskirts, East

@AlternateMan

"I-uh... I... Don't know... The patrons I get seem to mention them quite a lot but this the first time I ever seen one...", the guy's answer wasn't particularly helpful, but then again it matched with what was known about Camlann City. Apparently there was a lot of work for a demon slayer here. The patrons talking about demons a lot could just be demon slayers getting a bite to eat there.

"W-well they're all comin' from the city... Saw giant bird awhile ago too. I... I might close up early and try not to bring any into my store...", which was probably wise.

"But if you don't want a bite, w-well, good luck out there".

From here the road had a split between the main road which likely led to the city center, or he can go to the local shopping village if he took a right. He said the demons were coming from the center, but something told him there was something in the direction of the shopping village too... Whatever that may be, was it worth checking out? To be frank, he had a lot of time on his hands, there was no direct objective in mind when was travelling here.

Kosara

Location: Camlann City, Downtown

"What a dump..." Kosara stated as she walked down the road through Downtown Camlann. Place was about as bad as she could imagine, though truth be told the damage was indeed new. Damage aside, the rest of the disrepair wasn't new though. If she was to live in this place, she'd rather venture outside of the city, find a farm and chill there... or live in a tent. Camping out in tents wasn't actually half a bad experience, she quite enjoyed it, alone, away from those damn hypocritical humans and arrogant demons. Outside of civiliazation the chances to encounter demonic incursions because of some overhanging evil plot were smaller to begin with.

Then a man burst forth from the really fun movie theater that probably ran good classics, but before she even had chance to say anything the wolves were upon him. She frowned at teh sight of wolves. It has to be said that seh's got a history with wolf type beasts... bad history and it was triggering her old hatred right here right now, seeing them like this. She was starting to wonder if the weird feeling earlier and these wolves were connected. Was it possible the mastermind of her mother's death was present in the city in some manner? Suddenly she felt her demonic blood boiling even more as a large crazed grin appeared on her face as she pulled her sword out, the wolves having summoned helpers.

"Wolves at the door... Guess it's time for me to get a new pair of fur gloves." She stated and cracked her neck before she dashed into the group of draugr. Her plan was simple, the wargs were going to be a pain to deal with while they were free to circle around her. With the draugr around, the wolves at least would have hindrances to their advances and draugr were easier to deal with to begin with. Deal with the weaklings before the others. She dashed into the group of draugr with a Whisper in the wind, slashing at it from the shoulder, cutting off an arm as she dodged away and cricled around the damaged one. She did a quick headcount.

'3 Wargs,4 Lesser Draugr, 1 Draugr...' She counted as seh dodged the proper Draugr that came for her rigth now. She dodged a little bit too far though, as she exposed an opening, causing the wargs to attempt to jump her, while her escape path was now blocked by a lesser Draugr. She used her instincts to salvage the situation though. As the wargs jumped her, She used anothe Whisper in the Wind to charge on of them, dashing at it, cutting at it's leg and appearing behind it. She grabbed it's hind leg while it was still in mid air, where it couldn't move freely, using it's own momentum it put into it's earlier jump to pull herself away from it's two partners. With that done, she just dashed away from it, cutting at it's leg once more as seh returned int the group of draugr, keeping them between herself at teh wargs.

She was slowly building up momentum and energy into ther sword. The wind was starting to pick up across the blade as her air blades were cutting away at the Lesser draugr. She dodged a weak strike, dodged away from a stronger one. Slashed at another one to stop it's attack. Then just as the point in her phantom style was reached, she smiled. As a Lesser Draugr attacked her, she didn't dodge right awya, instead she went for a counter attack. With the lesser draugr coming right at her, she just raised her sword and slashed downwards. The Wind Scar came into effect right away, as the winds picked up, howling as they cut right through the Lesser Draugr and hit yet another one behind it. The wargs naturally were already in motion, two jumped at her from the two sides, the third was coming rushing on the ground with her other direction block by the draugrs she just cut in two.

The sword swung mightily went and dug into the ground, as the wargs reached her body, but instead of their fangs tearing her body, they just passed through a phantom. The afterimage as she appeared already behind the third Warg. Coming at it from behind, she clenched her fists with the Basilisk's Eye on it and hit it right into the head. She dashed away again right afterwards, leaving a phantom behind as seh pulled her gun Loathing in her other hand and shot a shot through the skull of hte third lesser draugr. With that she charged a shot with demonic energy as she phantomed right next to the proper Draugr, shooting it once with the charged shot, then following it up with a shadow shot, before switchign to hte gauntlet again and punching it in the face, dodging away and behind it before she shot it in the head once more with a shadow shot, finally bringing it down.' 3 lesser draugrs and the draugr down...' She made a mental note as she dodged away, leaving a phantom to a warg that attacked her. Her speed had peaked by now, as she was dashing away, leaving afterimages all around the pace.

Passing by the sword, she grabbed it in motion as she used a whisper in the wind to dispatch the last lesser draugr. With a grin, she spotted where the 3 wargs were, and whispered next to the one she injured earlier. She hit it with a simple hit, before dodging away as the other 2 came to defend it. Once she was a few steps away, her eyes locked on them. It all happened in a moment as she dashed forward. Cuasing a phantom behind herself. Then she seemingly doubled, as the effects of flicker and Whisper on hte wind kicked in as she was zigzagging towards the wargs and wehn she was close enough, she went for the Accel Strike. She came upon the wargs like a hurricane. The with two seeming attacks and both seeming real, they were unable to decice in proper defense. The two healthy wargs tried each to go for one of her apparent bodies, but through the ability she was just too fast. The Accel Strike cleaved through the warg, cutting it nearly in two, killing it as she passed through it, she carried hte momentum to arrive at the second warg, cutting deep into it, cutting off a hind leg in the process.

Following that seh proceeded to deliver a shadow shot into it's neck, it wasn't dead yet, but she had another thing to do. The third warg, the one she had injured first had finally recovered enough as it punced at her, but her answer was simple. She didn't bother dodging, she just stabbed forward, it was coming straight at her in it's rage so she just pointed her sword right at it's mouth straight, the really long blade easily passed through, cut at it's inside and by the time it had reached at her, she just moved to the left in force, pulling the blade with her sideways, cutting at the warg through the maw, the neck and then into the torso while at the same time tearing the other side with the point of the sword. It was a single edge blade after all. Finally she jumped into the air, pulled Sylph and used the recoil to get further into the air as she came down on the crippled warg that was trying to move with one missing leg and simply Cut down at it, delivering a devastating strike, cutting it's head off.

"No you don't." She suddenly said and spun in place, jumping before delivering a final Whirl descend to finish things of, cutting off the fourth Lesser Draugr into few pieces. She had nearly forgot the thing. She looked around, confirming all enemies dead, she nodded and looked at the head of the warg." I can make a fine ornament out of this one." Kosara shrugged and proceeded to just grab the Warg's head she just cut off before turning for the Theater." One went in there... Mmmm... I was meaning to watch that movie." She shrugged and started walking into the place.

Mesmund organized his thoughts as he stood at the crossroad doing nothing. He did have plenty of time, seeing how things weren't city-infested-with-all-kinds-of=demons emergent. Walking headfirst into the heart of the city would give him enough detail to take a grasp of what was going on, but a thorough investigation wasn't that bad. It was about time he started to actually think. The hunter stuffed the flail back into his chain arm, which sucked up the weapon like it had some kind of extra space inside it. Then he cocked his gun open, stuffing fresh bits of chain into it. The hunter headed his steps towards the shopping village, his legs slow and steady. His little demonic partner was so far silent in his head, perhaps everything was so far so good.

"It'll be alright."
Gawain

"Well, lad, we'll figure something out."

Gawain gave the warmest smile he could. Anything to let the boy know that things would be alright from this point on. A bright smile in the face of danger and uncertainty was a habit of his.

It was unfortunate that the boy was rather silent, as it made ascertaining the best course of action difficult, but Gawain understood that this boy was going through a tough time. It was only natural that speech would escape him in such a situation. It was up to Gawain to do what he could.

He tried to recall the specifics of the surrounding area. Simply leaving this boy in someone's house was not an ideal idea. It was doubtful a typical house would provide the best shelter from demons. But, perhaps a bank, certain convenience stores, or a pharmacy might work. Places with added protecting from being invaded were ideal. He would prefer not to have to backtrack or go too far out of his way to secure this boy, favoring somewhere along the way to leave him. It was not due to being insensitive or lack of care for the boy -- rather the opposite. The quicker he carried out his task, the faster the boy would not have to fear being attacked by a demon, and the quicker Gawain would be able to find a more permanent place to leave him, like with family if there were any left.

"Here," Gawain offered his hand to the boy, his left one.

Assuming the young lad accepted the offer, Gawain would continue onward with him to see what he could find.

Camlann City, Ellington Plaza Theatre

@rivaan

The inside of the theatre was as one would expect, an old theatre, red carpeting and garish beige and gold walling and decoration. The hollywood simulation that many theatres seemed to go with, if they weren't a unique branch at least. In this case though it looks like the cleaning crew was slacking off, with popcorn littered everywhere, dirt trails, broken furniture and slashed walls with claw marks, along with some blood trails covered by the red carpets. There were no corpses, as Kosara can gather, whatever wolves were here had already dragged off and eaten their victims.

Still, the only way forward was through an open door at the end of the hallway just beyond the ticket booth. The hallway's side rooms were simple stuff, like toilets, janitor closet, and there was a lounge just before the theatre's doorways. As she got close they seemed to swing open slowly for her, yet there was nothing.

The theatre still had the movie running, but it was hopeless to watch, the screen itself had been torn up, and whatever picture that was being projected was not visible, yet something was lurking in the darkness of this theatre... More wolves? Possible. But this chill was unlike that of one's instinct alerting them of threat. This was a genuine chill in the air. Still... It seemed whatever it was, wasn't making their move. What to do next... Maybe get some lights in here? Leave? The wall behind the slashed screen looked kind of weak too. Almost as if some kind of demon had smashed it, but obviously not from this side. It jutted outwards toward her like some kind of bruise in the wall. Still, what to do...

Camlann City, Main Road

@FamishedPants

Gawain walked the streets with the young boy, he had accepted his offer of help. What else was the boy to do? The only information he has to go on was that the boy wanted to go to the museum. He didn't know street names, but the landmark he gave was a museum just down the main road from the mall that Merlin had pointed out to Gawain in the letter. Almost convenient, but supposedly once they're there the boy can point at where he lives and hopefully he can be safe there. He had to traverse a few streets first though, bypassing some rubble too.

As they were moving through, an atmosphere began to set in for Gawain... Like shadows stalking him. The alleyways to make a shortcut through as the boy stated now felt like traps, but it seems the boy was none the wiser. Regardless he stuck to the open roads where he would have a better shot of noticing new enemies, but alas there were none... That is until he reached the main road. He could see the mall a long walk down the street, maybe something around 15 minutes from where he was, and a museum as he was told by the boy. Interestingly, the boy pointed that they go to the museum,

"I can stay with Mister Boris. He says whenever I have trouble I should come to him", perhaps this Boris can keep him safe, but for now... He sensed something approaching fast.

Black feathers fell from the sky as bird men with red masks descended upon him. Their attacks were swift, and while protecting the boy, Gawain could do no more than evade. Behind him there was a small area just down some stairs he could hide in, after some firm words he would be on his way, and let Gawain deal with these raven nuisances. As they slowed down, he could now ascertain there were two of them, landing on their feet, long spikes jutting out of the bottom of their feet. Balancing on it. As they began to settle, as if rising from the cobblestone pathways and road, were five Gakis. Come to scavenge the black winged demon's supposed kill. Well, perhaps they should start getting used to disappointment.

Camlann City Outskirts, Shopping Village

@AlternateMan

The shopping village was deserted, well what can he expect at a time like this with a demon attack and all. The shopping village was basically a gigantic carpark with shops flanking it on all sides. There were upturned cars and burning wreckages, like a scene from some zombie movie he can see groups of draugr roaming the carpark area, in search of food or just bored out of their minds maybe? Do draugr think? The only thing that made this scene unique was the sporadic crystals of ice jutting out of the ground, as well was frosted over trees, random buildings, and the asphalt itself. In any case his attention soon turned to the center. Something was sleeping there... With a vantage point he could recognize what it was. A giant, so to speak. It was sleeping... If it woke up with all these draugr it'd be bad news. Quite the fight would ensue. Or so he thought...

The eagle, giant eagle, he saw earlier flew overhead, and gave out a shrill cry. All the draugr looked up in unison, and began shuffling away in the same direction... A demon commander perhaps? This was rare to see, even for a demon hunter, as normally they'd eliminate demons that wandered into their world. But this... This was definitely a coordinated invasion of some kind. Was the giant in the middle part of it? Well he can come down and find out if he wanted... Or walk away. The giant remained asleep, and after maybe a minute or two, the entire shopping village had left him all alone.

The shopping village came into the hunter's eyes, and a number of draugr mindlessly wandering had him reach for the gun stuck carelessly on his hip. Then, just as he was about to pull it out of its place, Mesmund spotted the giant, and slowly pulled his hand off the weapon. No need to startle the big guy just to handle the little ones. That's just more trouble. The hunter held his position, watching the demons stride... and an eagle came. Its shriek directed the draugr, leading the lesser demons away from the area. What a sight, it was just what he needed for his day. He would've appreciated more if the demon dragged the giant one away too, but perhaps that was just asking for too much. Mesmund shrugged and observed the slumbering terror in front of him. There was ice around the area, on trees, buildings, the floor, everywhere. Since the zombie demons didn't use any ice powers, Mesmund guessed that the giant must have done the work. Or something else that paid a visit, if it wasn't the slumbering demon.
"Might as well find out."
He told himself, and carefully trotted up to the giant. He pulled out his gun and poked its head with it, surely and strongly.
"Wake up buddy, it's past dawn and you have some cleaning to do."
He grumbled at the monstrosity.
