@Artifex well, since you're lookin for input, i think i personally liked the "Class #" system more. it made it sound very scientific and bureaucratic. talking about Variants like they are tornadoes kind of has a cool vibe to it.
but other than that, I enjoy that there's a classification system at all. On the other hand these new titles are certainly more descriptive and easier to read and remember.
I mean, obscure codes and serial numbers are just badass to me, but i can totally get why other people don't think it's worth it, or see the value, lol.
edit: Like if there were so many specific classications that we could say Relka is a Class 6: M-B: RED
just the more acronyms, the better, for my stupid ass. Because now she is a Class-6, Metamorphic Brute, code Red. 6MBR. i dig that kind of stuff. but don't let my possibly niche interests have too much sway, take my opinion with a grain of salt, lol
@Artifex No problem. I'm just glad to be part of the fold.
As for the classification system, I prefer the new one over the old. This one just "feels" more to the point. I imagine the new system would be offered to the public as a early warning system or something and the old one would be meant for N.O.V.A and other Variant agencies around the world.
The numbered classes (1-5...six would no longer be necessary) would classify the actual abilities.
The descriptive classes that I have listed would describe the Variant themself. These are used as a codeword to get a quick read on a Variant's capabilities with as few words as possible.
So, let's say, my girl Sierra would be a Red Level Volatile with Class 1 and Class 4 abilities, for example.
1. I'd add in something that covers time powers, spatial powers, and reality warpers. I'd throw them all together. Maybe Warping as the name.
2. I'd change Inhibitor to Augmenter. It would cover any power that not just weakens but affects people/powers in general. The confusion part can be covered under Mentalist.

Posing as no Variant threat, N.O.V.A keeps little tabs on Surles and instead intends to keep the section short.
"... But you know, he's usually very serious with his work...hah... close to the fact that you might say he's just a work-a-loic. That was my first impression, but my overall thoughts are a meh to him- you know? He shows up to birthday party's and gatherings and stuff like that, though you could say he gets pretty tense- like there might be a murder or a Variant attack at any second."
*Informant has shown that they have not befriended Surles, but it shows how most of his peers may see him as.
"...Oh Jermey huh? He's a great police-man, and in the few times we hang, he talks mostly about the things he did. It's nice to see the guy finally do what he wanted to do. Since he was in Middle School, he always wanted to be a kind of Superhero guy- like in those nice picture-story things. Maybe he got powers, wha-dah-know? I haven't seen him in aggggeeesss. Hav-have I ever told you how sus' it is for ya' to know that you know that I know Jeremy? No? Yeah- yeah, I'll get back to him. He was always into Variant attacks and how ya' caught 'em. Those were the days. Oh! Yeah, the interview, yeah-yeah. Well I think he's a great person guy, very ambitious fella. Did I ever tell ya about the time about when his Pops found out about the..."
* It was confirmed that the Informant was intoxicated with an unidentified drug and was unconscious in the middle of the interview. He then was taken to the infirmary, where he then denied any more interview's. Occupation/Trade | Police Detective Skills/Talents | Footage and Academy records show that Surles was a remarkable at observing, finishing the standardized simulation in record time- 1 hour 17 minutes 14 seconds. Surles has shown on many occasions that he is able to shoot accurately with many weapons given to him. To go along with this, he was a high-school wrestler for 4 years, and is shown to use some techniques when apprehending a suspect. Family | -Joseph Surles (Father): Deceased -Mary Surles (Mother): Incarcerated -Joseph Surles Jr. ( Brother): Alive - Elisabeth Surles (Sister): Alive Background | N.O.V.A has received, and recorded the following information:
Jeremiah Surles was born on July 13th in a suburban town of [REDACTED]. Blood type: AB-, Birth Weight: 5.3 pounds, and circumcised. Joseph Surles was the patriarch of the family, as Mary Surles stayed at home to raise the future 3 children. Joseph worked as an animator working for a popular children's Cartoon show:The Misadventures of Squid-man. It was said that Jeremiah was harassed at school for his father working as the head animator for the show ( SEE: Extended Interview with Howard [REDACTED]). Jeremiah was the eldest in his family and one of the only other workers of the household- taking up the job in a local market.
His source of the grappling sport has been suspected to be started when on: July 11th, when surveillance footage shows he was beaten to near death from his peers. It was shown that Jeremiah curled up into a ball and seemed helpless. His peer's were then sentenced to juvenile hall and Jeremiah was hospitalized. From his therapist's accounts, he seemed to have a mental strain after the incident, and was scarred. It was then that Mary had enrolled Jeremiah in a local wrestling club.
Life seemed to be normal for Jeremiah, his life as mundane as any average person would go through. He passed high with IB and AP classes, getting a scholarship at New Haven's Mid-Town University. He was enrolled in Criminal Justice and passed. It was after he got his bachelor's degree that he enrolled into the police academy.
He had served for years and was infamous of many Variant captures. His greatest feature was capturing [DATA EXPUNGED].
As of now, he specializes in variant-related cases, from homicides to rape. Suspicion on Jeremiah's skills have made some N.O.V.A agents believe that Jeremiah himself is a variant. From current testing, this was proved false.
What do you think? I plan on doing an actual file, similar to FoundTonight's CS.
@Sewer Rat i mean you gotta root for the person with no powers
i was gonna make a character like that too but i've wanted to use this superpower in an RP for a long time. if i ever make a secondary character it will also be a non-variant
So, I changed the "Class/Level" tag in the CS to "Variant Type/Danger Level".
Brute - Variants with increased levels of strength and/or durability; they may be more difficult to harm or take down
Metamorphic - Variants can change anatomy and/or physiology, either partially or fully; can take human or non-human forms including animal, mineral, energy, or alien
Volatile - Variants have abilities dealing with fire, electricity, plasma, and any other explosive energy/force
Mentalist - Variants possess psychic abilities; can control and/or manipulate objects, people, energy using their thoughts
Agile - Variants are prone to quick movements and/or fast/instant travel; they may possess increased levels of dexterity
Inhibitor - Variants wield powers that can weaken and/or hinder others
Amplifier - Variants have the ability to improve the condition of themselves and/or others
Distortionist - Variants are able to alter space-time, intangible concepts, or reality as a whole
Natural - Variants have abilities that utilize and/or effect the natural world and/or animals
Architect - Variants who are able to manipulate, modify, and/or replicate matter and/or energy; some are able to construct tangible objects from energy
Also, the abilities will be listed under their respective classes. So please, modify your CS's accordingly. You can look at Manny's CS for an example. If any of you is unsure if something just let me know! ^_^

Still seems to have a lot of overlapping and tings... gimme a sec I might have something to help.
Psychics: Powers that are involved with or manipulate the mental capabilities and/or the mind of others.
Ex.: Empathy, Imitation, Telepathics.
Chars.: Sever, Sway, Aria, Identia, Jayson.
This way, when there's less options, it feels like it's more okay to double up on powers instead of accidentally getting tied up in four or five classifications. I also p much stole the descriptions straight from Superpower Wiki.
On Abomination and Jayson, I viewed Abomination's telepathic control more as part of the being a host thing rather than a psychic thing, and for Jayson I considered his telekinetic abilities to be more a manifestation of psionic energy like Sever's psionic knives ability instead of a manipulation power.
If we do use this we can easily sum up the overlapped classes as Enhanced Manipulators, Enhanced Psychics, Psychic Manipulators, or Enhanced Psychic Manipulators.
