Is there an elder for fire?

Currently no, by my track record the only available new generation magical girl element is lightning, and the only available elder magical girl is of fire. However Celeste mentioned somewhere above they were mulling over a concept for their new generation magical girl, which was before I presented my magical girl of nature there so now they'd be locked into lightning. And Shoujo didn't pick their elder character yet so they'd have the Fire elder if they chose to run a second character.

As far as lore is concerned, yes there is an elder of fire; but since I know Shoujo and they're a newbie I won't be forcing them into playing an elder. That being said at 5 group members we hit the high end for a small group rp, so I'm calling it full.

But we're all friends here if you had a suggestion or wanted to discuss the concept or topic of the fire elder please feel free to do so openly and without worry. I'm not a perfect GM, RP'r, or person in general; I won't be upset if you want to talk about anything! I shall seal this as a vow with the most sacred of rituals.... the pinky promise!

Took a bit longer than expected, sorry.

I spent a bit too long looking for pictures and when nothing showed up I decided to make my own, but most character makers online for magical girls weren't that good, so eventually I gave up on a traditional Mahou Shoujo look and settled on using a normal "doll maker" a friend had recommended but gosh was it complex, I didn't even figure out how to take a proper photo on it and ended up forgetting to save my character >_>

@DamnTheGacha
I don't think I'd want to do the Fire Elder (being a lil new and all like our GM said), so if there's someone else who would like to, it's cool with me. <3

Celeste, I think Miss Hotaru there looks great! Doll makers are awesome for this kind of thing, now that I'm realizing it...
Oh and as I was carefully rereading everyone's posted characters I just want to say they're all amazing in my opinion. It'll be fun to go beat up some baddies with everyone!

I would like just some extra context on a few things, if its fine.

First: Has everyone been introduced to each other? I imagine the old generation knows each other, but has the new gen been properly introduced? I also imagine they can track down the new gen once their artefacts activate? Or is all of the new gen in a "lone vigilante" moment and we will RP them meeting each other and the old gen?

@CelesteEste Ah yeah, sorry I thought it was more of an implication.

The old guard would for sure be directly on a first name basis cause y'know naturally they'd have to have fought shadow beasts together in their youth and did so for years as a loosely united vigilante kind of group until they were more obligated to do things in their adult life such as how Ms.Sparky over there had a kid, or alternatively had a falling out with the rest of the group due to personality clashes like the Ice Queen did. But they all know each other very very well.

As for the new generation, they act individually with no particular requirement to work with each other or their old gen teachers for that matter. They may know each other from say something like school environments when appropriate and around the same age group but they would have no idea that they are magical girls until that's made apparent in the RP. That being said, they also have very little understanding of their actual duties outside of the fact that now if they try really hard they can shoot flames or conjure ice spikes, bend metal and do cool little force lightning attacks. Or in the case of my little green poofball over there, flowers actually bloom now when she talks to them and she can make things move though it's really hard and she's way too weak to move tree branches. Nature gets the short end of the stick starting out, but y'know character progression!

And to clarify that last question, no the elders can't particularly track the new generation but they do know they're there. Since they share a power source and all they can feel ripples in the energy, and it's implied they know of the object that selects the magical girl candidates to begin with which is a sentient force that could aid them in finding them. However that takes time as well, and can be why it took them a week or two to approach them. And to offer yet another alternative, it ain't too hard to notice a girl shooting lightning out of her fingertips so maybe they just went looking for them outright and needed some time to find them.

Sorry about that! A few things slipped through the cracks while writing everything I guess. I hope this helps!

Next post is up, anyone feel free to jump in and help Kori not do an un-alive.

Looking forward to the rest of our adventure! Still brainstorming a better name than shadow beast... Open for suggestions cause it's delaying my big lore dump on the categorization system for them. I'm that kind of guy that gets pretty hung up on creative names.... Yeah.... It's a problem.

Welp to keep things nice and lively here in the OOC, who wants to talk about magical girl stuff?

I would love to hear your influences and what your favorite magical girl pieces of media are! For me, I was inspired to make the RP partly from Puella Magi Madoka Magica while I was pondering the concept that the character Mami was heavily underused in the main story but served a functional purpose to teach the new magical girl candidates the ropes of being a full fledged magical girl. Then I took in a few elements from shows such as the classic Sailor Moon and the Pretty Cure franchise and decided on this little tribute to a classic piece of anime media.

For my characters though, I pulled inspiration from my favorite show in the magical girl genre, "Yuki Yuna Is a Hero!" where they were stylized in their uniforms in various different ways and no one magical girl was really the same.

Who knows maybe later on we can have cool final form transformations or something like that since I loved the "Mankai" forms in that show that kind of set their powers into overdrive.

Let's talk! I'd love to get to know you all a little better!

@DamnTheGacha I am also big on Yuuki Yuuna, I even made a flowchartfor how to follow the series back in the day (Nogi Wakaba is a Hero is one of my favourite magical girl media, its great.)

Outside of that, I like CCS, some Precure seasons (haven't watched many, but I liked gopri a lot), Symphogear. I also like classic mahou shoujo, though the only old shows I really love are Sally the Witch and Minky Momo (also check out a series on youtube called Mahou Profile for info on classic shows, its great). Not big on Sailor Moon and Madoka but I respect those series a lot.

Ironically, for Hotaru, I think Madoka was the main inspiration, not in mood or character type, but in terms of power and outfit which are very loosely magical without a clear rule on what they have to look like, often taking inspiration in mundane weaponry and military uniforms.

I grew up on sailor moon - I still love it to this day. In the way of "Magical Girl" or even anime where characters transform into different outfits these are some that I have watched and love: Kill La Kill, Princess Tutu, Mai Hime, Cardcaptor Sakura, Full Moon Wo Sageshite, Shugo Chara, Doremi, Pretear, Mermaid Melody, Kampfer, Tokyo Mew Mew. Stuff like that. I do want to watch Madoka cause people keep telling me it's pretty good, plus I enjoy darker themes in my anime. I also want to watch Precure - I haven't want any of those.

For Koharu and Sara I can't pinpoint any one show to pull inspiration from, I just like character that have depth to them - thus the broken household for Koharu and a possible conflict of what "justice" really is for Sara. I love drama and character growth.

@CelesteEste

Oh wow Celeste, you know way more about Yuki Yuna than I do, really put me into a research frenzy and I need an English translation Nogi Wakaba stat! I was so disappointed when I finished the show cause I thought that was all there was, to me it felt like another dark magical girl anime where it explored the same kind of depth as Madoka did but with a little less
(Which I loved because all of the drama was focused more on the consequences of being caught in a lie you didn't sign up for and the mental strain it put on the girls.)

Also I thought it was the coolest thing in the beginning that there was a magical girl in a wheelchair that tied into her actual costume and power design. Though her friend in the hospital always hit me pretty hard, and thanks to knowing now that they expanded the lore in japan I also feel very sad to find out the circumstances that lead to that being the case as well. I would love to see that adventure prequel animated now, as well as Nogi Wakaba.

@Allycat Wow that's a lot of anime experience you have there! I like magical girl anime when it's got a strong narrative to it, but I must admit I don't have that much experience with the genre by comparison. I would definitely miss quite a bit if I was trying to list them all off but following suit my experiences are mostly confined to Sailor Moon, Prisma Illya, Madoka Magica (and spin offs), Card Captor Sakura, Yuki Yuna is a Hero!, and of course Pretty Cure. Not sure which season it was but me and my sister watched a dubbed version of Pretty Cure where they 4kids'd the hell out of it and changed everything to the point it was stupidly hilarious. The american one was called "Glitter Force" and we watched it on taco nights because it was pretty ridiculous. And if you want to consider indirect transformation animes as part inspirations, Kill La Kill is freakin awesome and I'll love it forever, Panty and Stocking is a pretty good one about (not so) magical girls, and who can forget the long time magical girl anime classic, Dragon Ball Z.

For me, I haven't seen neither Madoka Magica nor Precure (yet), but growing up, even at an age I can't remember, I supposedly watched Sailor Moon when family was over. Several years ago I decided to actually watch it for myself since I couldn't remember a show I'd seen when I was 1... and I loved it. :) Other ones I love are Yuuki Yuna as well, Fate/Kaleid Liner Prisma Illya (a little questionable at parts but I thought it was cute overall), Vividred Operation, Momo Kyun Sword (slightly too lewd for my liking but it was meh), Magical Girl Ore (hilarious watch, and poked fun at the magical girl genre in general), aaaand... that's all I could think of right now.

Inspiration came from... well, a combination of a character from an anime I love; Hetalia and personalities of people I know in real life.

Yeah I was a little worried but no worries, it's that time of the year.

Also I noticed! I saw your status in the status bar when you shared the song and I was like "Oh I also love Shawn Wasabi" and yeah Otterpop is my actual favorite of his work so far. I also like Burnt Rice and Marble Soda.

If you take recommendations, I suggest Porter Robinson's music is more somber and melancholy but it's just wonderful.

My favorite from Porter is Sad Machine.

My in game name for things is completely different from mine here, but my old account on this site runs that name. But that account is dead, so now I am expressing my disappointment with the Gacha!

Also Hear the Bells is a good Porter song, Madeon is also dope.
