Biography/Personality:Hotaru was born in the southern part of the country in a small town and has only recently moved to the city. Her mother thinks that because of this she has been alienated from her classmates, and even suspects bullying, but that isn't the truth. She is popular in her class, as a confident-looking exchange student who does well in sports and other extracurricular activies, Hotaru was quickly labelled "cool" by her classmates and would easily make friends if she wished to, but she doesn't, she often avoids things that she feels are 'bothersome' and that includes most people. She hates the idea of schedules and obligations out of her control, she has a tendency to get lost in whatever she is focusing on at the moment and tends to take annoyance at whatever brings her back to reality.
Even back in her hometown, she was always a quiet child, who needed to be dragged along by her friends, though in a small village by the ocean kids were much more straightforward with anyone of their age and wouldn't allow Hotaru to isolate herself, eventually learning that she appreciated their company more than she would tell them. The kids often saying she acted like a cat, which became a bit of a nickname back then.
Beyond that and the recent change from a peaceful town to a much bigger, noisier city, she had a normal life, her grades were nice, she participated in the tracking team and in the baseball team and spent most of her allowance money on music devices, CDs and tickets for shows. Of course, all that changed one day, when she found a weird-looking bell bracelet in an old chest that belonged to her grandma, though she never had seen her grandma with such an object before. It had a spark of energy to it which was both uncanny and captivating,
