I have DM’d Star Wars through Wizards of the Coast and Fantasy Flight Games over the years, though it has been a few years since I gave it a whirl. The 2013-2014 season was my last run. I’m looking to give it another chance despite a hectic schedule and will be looking for long-term, patient players interested in a campaign told through Saga set in a parallel route to the current era of Star Wars. To save on forcing people to read countless hours of a wiki and a large pile of EU novels, I will be effectively starting from scratch.

Comparatively speaking, I’m looking at the period between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens/New Jedi Order as the timeframe for this RP.

The Galactic Empire’s Moffs and Admirals are still holding onto their pieces while the Rebel Alliance is breaking through on core worlds though they have yet to take Coruscant. The power vacuum created from Palpatine’s death has allowed a more hectic and wild era. So essentially this will allow us to focus on characters and planets in an interesting dynamic without having to worry about a Jedi Order or Galactic stranglehold. In many ways this is a successor of my original Saga tabletop campaign (Imperial Knights), though for all players that’s more of a fun trivia thing than an important hallmark to take heed of.

Some of the guidelines I’m establishing for this campaign include:

Players: This game is to be applied-for. Details on character sheet requirements will be simple albeit concise. I will be accepting no more than five characters.

Character Level: Player Characters will be level one individuals of various backgrounds and merits.

Attribute Selection: Attributes will be decided by the standard dice determination system in Saga. Roll four six-sided dice (4d6), disregard the lowest die and total the three highest per stat. Reroll any ones.

Experience System: I’ll be using what other DMs call a “benchmark” or “milestone” system in that experience is not based on the crunch of enemies but more on plot progression and organic character growth.

Limitations: The heroic class of 'Jedi' will not be allowed at this time.

Watch this space for developments and information on how to apply. Obviously applications will be in the OOC in a hider until approved.

I've amended the system to allow for re-rolling of any 1's you roll during this generation. You may keep your current stats or re-roll the ones you received during stat determination.

I'd like to play a former Imperial Agent (possibly Chiss but I may go with human instead) from either the ISB or Imperial Intelligence. Trying to decide which class best suits that kind of background. Right now it feels like a tie between Scout and Scoundrel, although Noble might be a possibility as well. Suggestions?

An Imperial Agent would suit well for any of those three classes. Scoundrel and Scout have some nice starting feats that suit a field operative or spy-type feature, while Noble has some of the better background options as well as the ability to lead. Ultimately, it depends on what kind of skillset you want.

I think this might be fun to join in, especially if it's at a slower pace and with the tabletop spin (makes the RP easier for me, not sure how). Would probably be interested in running mechanically a Zabrak Soldier. Lore wise, I think I'm leaning towards a former Hutt thug with imperial sympathies who is looking to join the fray now that there's a potential for advancement for his kind. Or, at the very least, there's more room for credits to flow.

Haven't played tabletop here, so is there a particular way you'd like us to roll stats using the site or something?

Cordu-Ji Noble who was the runt of her litter (6 CON) over here. Used her brain and words (16 INT and CHA) instead of her size and strength to plan kidnappings and other things on her homeworld that would be seen immoral elsewhere in the universe. She wound up being bested at her own game and had to make a run for it, though.

Haven't played tabletop here, so is there a particular way you'd like us to roll stats using the site or something?

Ink said we're rolling for stats, yeah. I rolled for everything on the dice roller here.

Kuro uses the dice system on RPG and its a good way for me to double-check rolls. Not a perfect system, but it's there.

Just remember to link the roll in your posts or the OOC when you roll for something.

Alright, I think I figured the system out as best as I will for now. I'll start working on the actual Saga sheet and post the application soon.

I've decided against starting a discord server/channel prematurely. I have a LOT of interest, so I'm going to suggest people use the onsite rolling system instead.

Well, I meant on RPG's Discord server, actually.

But anyway, the character sheet is view only so I'm not sure how we're supposed to use it.

Download it and fill the sheet in with whatever PDF reader you have.

Some very boring and probably infuriating stat rolls:

Str: 15
Dex: 16
Con: 14
Int: 16
Wis: 9
Cha: 7

Chose to do 1d6 rolls in segments (with rolls in the middle to help separate it for my own sake) so that the old 4d6 drop the lowest could still be taken into account, and with a reroll of the only 1 roll based on a previous comment here by Ink.

Alright here's the stat spread for Zesh'ezen'rossuq (aka Zesh), our resident Chiss Noble.

Str: 11
Dex: 15
Con: 9
Int: 13 + 2 (racial)
Wis: 13
Cha: 18

roleplayerguild.com/campaigns/642

I mean, considering the RNG gods blessed me with an 18, I have absolutely no right to complain about having a 9 in there as well to offset it. xD
