@The Irish Tree Hey man, if the only episode he saw was that ramsey one or the "your not perfect" one, I get it. That one is still not right even today. xD

Also, there was a live action Flapjack movie? whaaaaa?

EDIT: Ok, I found some info on it, It was shown at some movie festivals, and it wasn't flapjack, but something that was eerily similar.

"You should have left me to my secrets, as I left you to yours, dear sir."

I might be remembering incorrectly, but didn't Chuunitrix send mimics throughout the Chateau to hide and spy on the other Chapters? Or was that just the errand for food and books? Or is Chuunitrix intentionally being characterized as an unreasonable hypocrite? I tried looking for mention of it but couldn't find it; it's a lot to re-read and I don't remember when said 'spy party' was sent out, if at all. Maybe I'm misremembering. I ask only because if she did send them out, it would be an interesting plot point and potential for interaction if said spy mimics were caught.

EDIT: I hope this doesn't come off as critical or antagonistic. I think Chuunitrix is an interesting character, flaws and all.

Chuunitrixx's range is as follows:

Survivors can go anywhere that Chuunitrixx could, being human and all. However, they aren't exactly going to spy on anyone, since they stand out due to their design.

Sentries and Proxies can possess any object, and do tend to move around the Chataeu, but they are expressly forbade from entering another Chapter, unless it's a "communal" location, the Chataeu is in explicit danger, or Chuunitrixx orders it to do so.

Concreep Mixers are as subtle as a L4D Boomer after Taco Tuesday with a whiskey chaser.

The Kath's Library and Flan's Kitchen can be arguably be considered communal locations, so them jumping into the Historia of Academia doesn't violate those rules.

There was no mention of it, because it was done outside of Chuunitrixx's purview, because Enderall is incredibly magic sensitive with her Psion, High Psion, and Grand Psion Class Levels, Psionic Beast Racial Level, and Magic Defense of 300. It was she that detected Graft's Open Line, and decided to look into the matter.

As to the matter of hypocrisy, personal bias aside, Chuunitrixx has never, arguably, invaded and stolen something irreplaceable. Flan has an infinite bread and wine maker, and Kath's books are reproducible, but the knowledge of her eggs and her operations was first-party, and wholly hers to share when she saw it fit -- if ever.

Graft used Kath to rob her off that. It might be hypocrisy to settle the matter solely on the shoulders of Kath and Rodias, because neither had awareness of Graft's action, but they are the only ones she can truly blame.

Hence, Chuunitrixx says, "I left you your secrets."

And, lastly, it's not critical or antagonistic. It's a good question that does need a bit of clarification. Chuunitrixx is doing a lot with her resources, and I'm bound to miss a detail somewhere. So, hopefully, I answered it.

Edit: Amended typos due to typing on my phone. I'm waking home from work.

On the topic of resources, I have a question for all of you as well:

Just how much or many resources does each Chapter or Area actually have? How much can the Factory produce, how long can the Beast Pens be kept fed? How much food is there left in the kitchens? How much raw material does the Forge have? How many Mimics and Dopplers can Enderall spawn?

It's important to note that while this is an Overlord story, our characters and levels are not on par with Nazerick. Bandersnatchers, as a guild, is nowhere near as rich or powerful as Ainz Ooal Gown was - as such, it's quite reasonable to assume that the resources our cast has available to them is either significantly less, or of considerably lower quality overall.

While it's of course fun being able to just spit things out and pull stuff outta the butt - gods know Maruyama does it all the time - I think it's important to look at things with moderation some times.

Take for example Nazerick, in order to obtain materials to create simple, basic magic scrolls, Demiurge had to go through a lot of troulbe and effort to secure a steady source for that. Take for example Aura and the construction of the Dummy Nazerick, that took sveral days, if not weeks, to be completed. Yet in less than a week, we have brand new inventions, four advanced frontier outposts and supply-routes . I'm not saying we shouldn't have these things, but I am saying that we should all take time tot think about just what our respective characters' have available to them in terms of resources and materials, and what seems reasonable and appropriate. Wanting to move forward and get things done is fine, it's great, but doing so too fast kind of wonks up the pacing of the story and the immersion. Well, at least for me.

So, don't take this the wrong way - I'm not telling people to stop what they're doing or retcon stuff out of existence. I'm just asking: How much resources do each of us have to use and expend? How much can our Chapters, Areas or individual characters actually produce or influence the world around them?

This is something I ask simply to satisfy my own curioisty, so if you don't feel like bothering to answer, that's completely fine.

Yeah the whole time abyss thing going on makes it a bit fuzzy just how quickly things are getting done. I mean Mamoru will definitely put the skeletons to work mining and excavating as soon as she has the clearance, but so far I haven't actually done that yet. Just as well everything I did have Mamoru do happened on Day 1: if there's been a considerable time skip or something already, than her clones have also likely already reached various locations around and have been feeding Mamoru information on top of the resources she's gathering via the skeletal servants. Again, all of this is background stuff going on, but I'm not entirely certain just how much of it is/can happen in our current time vacuum.

Chuunitrixx is easy to answer for, as Tree and I have a back and forth about how much power she can amass at a given moment overtime.

So, from the top:

Enderall is, effectively, a Zerg Cerebrate from StarCraft, and Chuunitrixx follows the Population rules of said game -- Traptrixx was a massive RTS mark, and StarCraft is one of my Top 5 RTS with Age of Empires and Age of Wonders, which heavily influence Project Necropolis Gothika.

Anyways, Enderall has an effective Population of 500. Each Unit takes up a Unit Pop, depending on its value.

Survivors of the Apocalypse have a Unit Pop of 1; they are a dime a dozen, basically, Zerglings. Enderall throws them as stuff, and they savage it.

Sentries have a Unit Pop of 3, and act like Hydralisks; shooting down targets with deadly efficiency. Proxies have a Unit Pop of 4, because they are, effectively, upgraded Sentries; like the Lurker is an upgrade Hydralisk, and, despite its limitation, it's far deadlier.

Concreep Mixers have the highest, current, Unit Pop for Enderall, at 5. They are moving Creep Colonies, supplying Enderall and her Units with constant healing. They are meant to be protected, zealously.

Now, the Upgraded Survivors have a Unit Pop of 2, save for the Overseer, with a Unit Pop of 3, which grants them advanced levels of automony, and for an Overseer, free will.

The Draft Horses and Dogs have a Unit Pop of 1. They literally exist to serve a function, and nothing else.

The Eggs had a Unit Pop of 25 each, because they are under Chuunitrixx, who has a Unit Pop of 50; if the Eggs are Ultralisks, then Chuunitrixx is a Brutalisk. Nothing is stronger.

So, there is, at any given moment, some combination of Survivor, Upgraded and Normal, Sentries, Proxies, and Concreep Mixers with a combined Unit Pop of 450.

Now, each of the Village has a Unit Pop that supports, fairly, 50 Upgraded Survivor Units or 100 Units in total, which is an upgrade from the Hamlet that had a Unit Pop of 20 Upgraded Survivor Units or 40 Units in total. Each upgrade requires Chuunitrixx to get explicit premission from Rodias, requires time to surplus Units, and the time to move them into place within a decent combination that protects and normalizes them.

And, lastly, Mimic don't sleep or eat. They mimic sleep and eating, but, they don't need it. So, they work and work and work. It isn't unreasonable to assume, 20~30 Survivors, working, around the clock, without need to sleep or eat, could very well accomplish what they have in a small amount of time with their oversight and lack of, significant, distractions.

It's a lot of numbers, but the numbers help me play fair with Chuunitrixx, because her Units are inexhaustible, so long as she has a steady supply of food and power to her Chapter.

Resources are actually Graft's biggest problem right now. He's been burning through what he had (not a huge amount to begin with) to make his prototypes, and is going to run dry soon. Nothing that he's made can currently be put into mass production because of this, nor can he proceed any further with REPLICA. He'll need to start procuring materials shortly, and will likely be contacting both Mamoru and Kaldorna to do so on top of fielding his own gathering teams once possible, since the people near the Chateau would definitely notice.

and Kath's books are reproducible,

They might be reproducible, but considering they are probably no other copies of those books in the new world then up until the point that they are replicated they should be considered irreplaceable.

On the topic of resources, I have a question for all of you as well...

The beast pens have 2 of every, or almost every beast in Yggdrasil (whether sun200 succeed at catching them all or not isn't a question I'm narrative interested in answering, nor is what all even equates too species count wise other than way to many). It is a massive resource hogging vanity project, so the answer to "how long can the Beast Pens be kept fed?" is not very long at all even with the oncoming injection of Gorgonbulls. The equivalent of chapter 2 will involve vampires trying to teach themselves/their thralls agriculture and that likely still wont solve the problem for good even if it goes off without a hitch. The pens are supposed to be modestly useful/powerful if people make use of whatever beast they want to find within but its also a massive pain in the ass to maintain in the state Sun200 intended.

Things the pens defiantly have in addition to the monsters.
  • Some but not many un-replaceable vampires (mostly hunters, tamers, and trappers with a few support classes thrown in like dark priests or herbalists, all of them with rider levels)
  • A tone of dumb thralls, mostly stable hands.
  • Lots and lots of tunnels containing cells for monsters dug by miner thralls.

Things of note the pens may or may not have:
  • Some actual farm animals, but only 2 of each.
  • A (completely uncontrollable and sealed in a can) world boss
  • A golden goose equivalent
  • The sable lords' personal op/adorable pets who are missing their masters
  • Queens and princes of 1 or more hive mind swarm species
  • Lethal joke monsters
  • Creatures that would make very nice fur coats
  • weird gimmicky mounts galore
  • whatever creatures people want to find in there

most of which the vampires will not consider the usefulness of unless pressed

also I'm going to try and post on thrusday or friday to nurse the, presumably, manaless baby. Shame the cleric's gone, would have been fun to dramatically rush Zouyu to the hospital temple

I did say it was arguable for a reason, because it is really a matter of semantics, no offense, in that, unless Kath were to die or forget that information, she is the irreplaceable factor in the example. And, Chuunitrixx didn't steal Kath.

I'm not condoning the thievery, as it's just as wrong, but, there's a vast wealth of difference between a physical property like a single-print book and the metaphysical property of your very privacy.

Thanks for elaborating, my main issue was that I didn't know how deeply the mimics had infiltrated/were allowed to infiltrate the other chapters. If they were all up in the Factory, then Chuunitrix's statement would have been hypocritical, but since that does not seem to be the case, then the label of hypocrisy doesn't apply. And I'm also saying it's not necessarily bad even if Chuunitrix was hypocritical, since we can intentionally characterize our characters however we want. For example, I intended to write Salem as a bratty, annoying little shit with daddy issues. Which is why I pointed out that I wasn't trying to criticize Chuunitrix, nor her creator. I emphasize this only because I've had experiences in the past where mentioning a character's flaw was taken with offense by the creator.

On a different note, I realize that The City of Lost Things probably comes off as a pretty useless Chapter (it kind of is), and is a terrible destination for anyone. However, the secret of the First Chapter is that it is a test-bed for evolutionary machine-learning experiments. The dolls, plushies, mannequins, etc. are created with randomized combinations of traits so that after each patch and update, Dr.Drd can see which traits or mechanics rise to the surface as the state-of-nature competition allows one to elucidate what the 'new meta' is. That being said, it might not be extremely hard to survive in The City per se, but anyone who wants to test their mettle against absolute f***ing chaos can go there. This is specifically an open invitation to Rodias who might want to flex outside Kaldorna's pens, Graft who might want to train Tabula in less sterile conditions, and potentially Chuunitrix who might also want to train her next batch of leader mimics.

Also, if Graft requested all mention of the words, "Raid Boss", from Kath's library, he will probably come upon the fact that Dr.Drd refers to Raid Boss encounters as his inspiration for creating Salem. Unlike most of the other Keepers and denizens of the Chateau, Salem is an actual boss creature, complete with boss room, multi-stage fight, and weird combat mechanics. Might be interesting if he wants to pit Tabula against him to test her prowess, but also risky since he knows Salem thinks Tabula should be destroyed. Graft could, at any point end the fight by completely wrecking Salem's shit by using his Corrosive Mine.

EDIT: This post took a while and I wanted to add a few more points in response to recent posts:

I hadn't considered resources a big issue, so Graft's proposal to stop the stream of material into The City makes a lot more sense now (beyond just trying to threaten Salem for hinting at blackmail).

I grew up playing Age of Wonders (the first one, I exploited the shit out of wraiths) and StarCraft.

Gromgard only has to worry about 2 resources: Goblins and metals. I was thinking of giving the goblins a "breeding grounds" to make more. As for metals, he can always get a bit from the main forge or melt and re-forge his old weapons and armors he doesn't use anymore. He has Flan as a means to gather food for the goblins but not much else is needed.

Understandable.

Training the Ascendants is done via reading to them, which helps to generate their Class Levels... but, Uncle Salem's City of Playthings isn't too far-fetched an idea. XD

Light has no resources to manage, all she has to do is guard, so shes good in that regard. Heck, she could be one of the people that goes out to find new stuff, since she can store a bunch of stuff on her person thanks to her powerset. And if any adventurers find their way to the vault area.... well...

But I'm not expecting that anytime soon, so shes basically a free agent. xD

Kath looked down at the chest, considering what best to do with it. It was mush now. Destroyed utterly. What could she do? She still didn’t have an answer as she leaned down to pick it up, leaving Graft to his own devices.

Kath and Flan make an omelette.
