Your character is good. If you format it, clean it up a little, you can post it in the characters tab

Formatted, cleaned up and moved to the character tabs. Hope that is what you wanted. Formatted it based off the other characters in that tab for reference on what to put in that tab.

@BladeSS4@Darkmoon Angel@FalloutJack

Hello Everyone,

I hope all is well. I am posting now to say that I'm adding to my routine. Besides being online from 3:00pm to 7:00pm (EST) every Thursday. I will also be online for one hour every weekday morning (i.e. Monday through Friday).
This way, even if I don't have a post ready, I can at least respond to questions quickly.

Also, I would like to update our battle system, and update your characters.

Starting with your characters, I would like everyone to increase their character's power level by 10. Everyone should now have 110 power. From this point forward, let it be known, that the Human species has the ability to increase their max level by 10% every day (given they have battled strong enough opponents in that day). Since, we are in the middle of the World Martial Arts Tournament, and there are plenty of battles that took place off screen, if you will, it stands to reason your characters will get their maximum gains.

Now, for the update to the battle system. We are going to make battles more strategic by allowing you to split the use of your power level in three ways. Attack - Speed - Defense. In other words, if your total level is 110, you can split 110 between these three focuses.

Attack Power will be treated similarly to how it has been in the past (with a few modifications). Your Attack stat will be rolled, dealing a minimum damage of 50% of the Attack power put in. So, if you put 50 points into your attack, it will do a minimum damage of 25. Also, there is still a 10% recoil on your attacks, so in this scenario, you would take 5 recoil damage.

Defense is the new way to block damage from your opponent. With Defense, there is no rolling of dice. You simply reduce damage taken by half the amount of points spent on Defense. So if you put 50 points on defense, you're going to block 25 points of damage, regardless. And there is no recoil on defense.

Speed also does not require a dice roll. With speed, you divide however many points you dedicate to the speed stat by 4, and then add that number to both damage dealt to the opponent and damage blocked. It is the least efficient way to deal damage and block damage, but it's real purpose is neither of these things. The real purpose is to be a tie breaker when both combatants would otherwise be defeated. Whenever two people battle, the person that put less points on speed will take damage first. Then, granted they are not defeated, the other person will take damage. But if they are defeated, the other person (the one who spent more points on Speed) takes 0 damage.

In conclusion, from now on, when you make a battle post, the bottom of your post should look something like this...

Combo Attack, Power 110
- Attack 40; Speed 30; Defense 40

Also, with the addition of these three focuses, you need to add one new field to your character sheets. This field is called "Focuses" and it has been added to the first post in the Character's tab section. Basically, this is where you decide what kind of fighter you are creating. Refer to that post to understand what I mean, but basically, if your character has "Focuses" that look like "Attack > Defense > Speed" then you can't put more points on Defense than Attack, and you can't put more points on Speed than Defense or Attack. You can however make all three equal.

Finally, keep in mind that when you're battling, your total Power is brought down by 50% of whatever damage you have taken up to that point.

With these updates, you will probably want to use all of your available Power, every single time, rather than cutting it short because you don't want as much recoil. Instead, you will just dedicate more points to Defense or Speed, rather than putting it all on Attack.

Thank you for taking the time to read this long post. I hope everyone understands and appreciates the changes, as I believe they will make battles a lot more strategic and interesting. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.

I will be back online to answer questions tomorrow morning.

Ok... This way we can start to form together our characters attack style. An interesting addition.

Glad to have you on board, btw. The more the merrier. I will say this however. Your IC post switches between present tense and past tense so often that it makes it a bit awkward to read. If you have a moment to go back and fix this, please do. If you don't, then please just be mindful of this going forward.

I would prefer everyone to stick to past tense when writing in the IC section.

@Balthazar007 Added the changes to my character sheet. I can give the time frame suggested a go, though it's understandable if everyone here can't, since gathering people from different walks of life can be difficult at times. Regardless of how well it works, I'm looking forward to continuing this RP.

You need to tweek your character sheet a little, regarding the new changes. First, you don't have to have "100". You can just delete that. 110 is your new max power level, and it's not going back down.

Second (and more importantly) you're not supposed to put actual values on your "Focuses". You simply need to put how they are spread for your character. Your choices are...

  • Attack > Speed > Defense
  • Attack > Defense > Speed
  • Speed > Attack > Defense
  • Speed > Defense > Attack
  • Defense > Attack > Speed
  • Defense > Speed > Attack

The exact values are up to you in your battle posts. But for instance, if you pick a "Defense > Attack > Speed" spread, then your character is clearly a tank, because his speed will never be greater than defense or attack, and his defense will always be his strongest suit. But the exact values can change.

The choice is yours, but it is a permanent choice.

Okay, I posted in the IC section to go ahead and move us forward. The first one of you to respond gets to go first.

For this round, you will all be going against fighters with max power level of 70. I will be controlling them of course, and we will be implementing the new changes.

The reason I hadn't been posting was that I was letting Darkmoon go first, but alright. I'll be on this soon.

I'm working on a tournament bracket visual, that should be ready by tomorrow evening (since I'm about to have to get ready for work, and I work the morning shift tomorrow). I'll also put up my next post, which will be introducing the fight between Bakuto and his opponent.

On the off chance you didn't see the IC section recently. I've set up the tournament brackets, and you're next. No huge rush, just making sure you notice.

I'm just looking for your character's entrance paragraph, where he steps into the ring and we get an idea what's on his mind and such.

To avoid decimal places in my math, can you please adjust your character's stats to multiples of ten. Those 35s complicate things a little. Otherwise, that was a perfect post.

Okay everyone,

I'm adding another battle feature. Our characters have been destroying their competition with relative ease up until this point, but now it is time to get serious. So, from here on out, you have the option to give a SERIOUS boost to one of your three stats. The base power of these stats still have to be in line with your normal spread; meaning that if you have a spread of "Defense > Attack > Speed" you still can't have speed be more than attack or defense still, but you can apply the SERIOUS boost to speed, to temporarily accomplish just that.

As an example of this, please refer to the bottom of this post: roleplayerguild.com/posts/5091103
Notice how he boosts his Attack to make it stronger than his defense, but the base stat for the attack is still less than his defense's base stat.

Also, you will notice that I decided to make his speed 16. This is because speed is divided by 4 before being added to damage dealt and damage blocked. You all can do this too. Just remember these three things:

* Attack is always divided by 10 to calculate recoil. So your attack stat should always be divisible by 10.
* The Speed stat is always divided by 4 before it effects damage. So your defense stat should always be divisible by 4.
* The Defense stat is always divided by 2. So your defense stat should always be divisible by 2.

Any time I have to round to the nearest whole number, I will round down.

So, I just noticed this, but your character's focus spread is "Speed - Attack - Defense", which by the way, should be written "Speed > Attack > Defense".

I should have noticed this last time you posted, but you made your Defense stronger than your Attack, which shouldn't be possible. With your spread, as you set it, your defense should be your lowest stat.

Also, did you understand my last post about the new SERIOUS feature? You can temporarily multiply one of your stats by 2 each time you post.

Sorry about that with the Focus thing I didn't realize I did that, I can make a fix to switch it in the CS or the posts might be easier to change the sheet seeing how we have a back and forth post already. As for the Serious attack, yeah I understood but wasn't sure if I should use one in my latest post or not.

Which way would you like this way to be fixed through the post or the CS?

I would prefer you change your latest post and leave your character sheet how it is. Also, the SERIOUS boost isn't a one time thing. You would probably do best to start using it now. You can use it any time, on one of the three stats.

We'll still allow the damage done by your post before this last one, though. No need to go that far back.
