The journey south was somewhat uneventful, baring Zouyu asking Kaldora whether Ashara had a breeding partner. Kaldora refused to be touched by any embarrassment by the question, but sadly was unable to provide an answer other than “Not that I am aware.”

Their journey took them down towards the seaside which gave them a nice view of a whole bunch of massive crabs littering the beaches. “I did not realize how close we were to the ocean. Seafood could be a useful addition to our stocks. Perhaps we can move some of the sea beasts out here and use them to hunt things further out? If these crabs can grow this big I wonder how rich the rest of the ocean life is.”

“Ye remember how hard they were to get in there in the first place?” Arthanar replied, clearly dreading the prospect

“It’s not nearly as far this time. But yes, it could be quite the pain. And we’d need a ship to really get the best of the Ocean” Kaldora said, right as one came into view. Sadly the sea vessel that Zouyu had spotted had seen far better days and was now a wreck on the beach. Zouya immediately showed interest in looting the vessel for valuables to impress Rodias, before remembering that they were predominantly there for food.

“Well our lord didn't really say what he explicitly desired out of this expedition. We’re here for animal feed of course, but it would be a shame not to look into this. Right?” Kaldora replied, clearly just as intrigued by the prospect of booty, before glancing back at her associates and gauging their own interest.

“Could be a cargo vessel. Be a shame not to check the holds for anything useful and there might be food onboard” one said, before a more morally conscious vampire asked “I wonder if there's any survivors?”

“oh yes. That is a good point, where are the crew?” she wondered

“Hiding?” thought one

“Might be really old wreck?” suggested the herbalist

“Only one way to find out isn't there,” Kaldora said as she dismounted, clearly excited to get involved in a bit of adventure and mystery. She checked her weapons, called over three Skink Hounds as an escort and stepped towards the beach. A number of vampires followed after her, also on foot, as she cast “[Aura of Docility]”, causing a shimmering hazy field spread out in a circle around her.

“Come along Zouyu. This aura of mine should guarantee these crabs don't get prickly about us moving through them. Not that they looked like they’d get mad anyway, but it's always good to be safe. Just make sure you don't hurt any of them or it’ll break the effect.” she explained both to the were tiger and to her own associates as she began to walk through the field of crustaceans, her hands outstretched to either side with palms up as if toward the beast away. The hound and vampires followed after her, carefully picking their way through sea of crabs without disturbing them.

The rest of the vampires, along with Arthanar, stayed up and mound on the dry land where they could use most of their powerful riding related skills to mount a rescue in case anything went wrong.

As soon as Chompy and Ashara joined Gromgard outside the doors, he nodded. "Let's move swiftly. I have a sense our time is limited." He didn't care where his companions traveled, as long as they stayed nearby. With his scouts leaping through the trees again and the rest of his goblins following behind him, Gromgard led the way to the first site he had visited with Mamoru. As they got closer, he noticed a small group of cultists. With a simple motion, he ordered his scouts to take them out with their bows. The closer they got to the first site, the more cultists they killed. After passing the first site, and following the trail of cultists, the eventually reached a new place.

"This place looks strange. Let's finish up here quickly. I don't want to see what the aura will do to any of you." He glanced back at Ashara and Chompy, wondering their thoughts.

The further they went, the stranger everything looked. His goblins began getting more and more scared, except the one with a hammer who just tried attacking everything. Apparently, barbarians feel rage in place of fear... He decided to send them back to the chateau.

And then the... gardener? Warlock? Whatever he was, he began telling them to leave. Since he didn't have the aid of his goblins, he drew his sword and stabbed it into the ground, a show of both strength and, as he was disarming himself, an attempt to appear less threatening. He took a couple steps forward, putting him just out of reach of his weapon. He just hoped the man didn't have a way to tell he could also cast spells.

"Who is he and how can we help him?" he asked, kneeling to look the tender in the eyes.

Light was reassured by Rodius that she could actually be serious here and fight like the boss was an intruder in the vault area, something she wasn't too happy about as she really didn't like 'showing' her more, slasher type fighting style. However, as she was getting ready to stab Rodius with one of her claws, an alarm sounded with one of the ESPERs coming to talk to Rodius, explaining why the alarm went off. Light knew it wasn't anything in the vault area, as none of her alarm spells went off, and she soon heard the reason for the alarm, an intruder! Rodius apologized to Light and said he was going to put the fight on hold, giving a message to have everyone gather in case Rodius couldn't talk this person down.

Light decided to shadow Rodius, her void origins making her unsensable or unscyable so unless Rodius saw her or she made sound, she was effectively invisible and it'd be the same for the intruder. She'd watch Rodius as he interacted with this intruder, just in case he needed backup or a way to escape, but would otherwise stay out of sight.

A calamitous noise from the other end of one Open Line blew away any conversation percolating among the others, and it got Graft's attention quite readily. “What the devil?” He selected the glyph that the noise resounded from and centered it. Everyone else attached to his network could have heard the blast, and so they could also hear his reply.

Of course, since Light had been included in the call, the collective sound came from her as well, interfering with her stealth.

“TL!? Report!” Graft demanded.

“Heavy firearms discharge from downrange,” rumbled the Team Lead into the network, with a sense of urgency belying his typically ponderous speech. “Intruder stunned. Mamoru dying. Butterfly attacking.”

Graft grit his teeth. Another ally down, but the Stalker -supposedly overwhelming in its power- was incapacitated by a shot from what could only be Chuunitrixx. His preparations would go to waste; any facade of subtlety had been shattered and the time to act had come. “Get in there! Pin it down, protect the boss!” The Director knew that Rodias knew that every Team Lead, essentially a customized Flesh Juggernaut, boasted innate Second Chance. That skill, possessed by Guardian Angels, Death Knights, and the like allowed such monsters to survive any attack that would otherwise kill them in one shot, and remain at 1 HP instead. If nothing else, the Team Lead, taller even than Rodias and many times heavier, could serve as his meat shield for two attacks, the first to take him down to 1 and the second to kill him.

At that moment, the door to Graft's office burst open to admit Tabula and Papillary at the head of a squadron of Specialists, the captains of his legion of Guards. Two Team Leads loomed outside. Papillary's head beat like a drum, and Tabula looked close to tears. Chaos erupted as everyone started talking at once, and Graft was having none of it. “Shut up!” he growled, invoking his Special Orders skill to force their mouths closed. A course of action had already formed in his mind, and he would not be brooking any objections. “You two,” he addressed his assistants. They might want to stay with him, but they weren't going to. “Get to the Climax Hour, now.”

“Sir,” Papillary insisted. “The failsafe?”

Graft shook his head and slammed his cane into the ground.. “No. Do what I say. All of you...” he looked over the assortment of minions. “If our gate-crasher makes it past those at the front door, and comes here, do not stand in its way. Simply direct whoever it is to me by pointing. Spread your forces out throughout the Factory; do not present a unified target. Understand?”

“Yes, sir,” the collection of Specialists garbled.

“Then why are you still in my office? Go!”

In a few moments Graft was alone once more. Less than twenty seconds had passed, but it was enough time for anything to happen. The fact that Chuunitrixx successfully crowd-controlled the intruder was an encouragement, but Graft wasn't so bold as to believe someone who could take out Isolde and Mamoru could be cowed so easily. All he could do was hope that the intruder did not plan to rampage through to the Chateau and take it apart piece by piece, but that didn't mean he shouldn't plan for it. Yet, even as he continued his preparations, he felt confident in his principal hypothesis. No logical reason existed as to why anyone should desire a warpath against the Chateau this early, and with so little observation. If someone wished to approach an unknown nation or organization diplomatically, however, the place to start was at the top—with its leader.

Graft guessed that the intruder wanted Rodias, and that the last Sable Lord had played straight into enemy hands.

Talim suddenly found himself with a roofmate, that he didn't so much see as sense and especially hear. One quick peak and Talim could very quickly tell the doppleganger was feeling very under the weather. It appeared she didn't even notice him there, all her senses focused on the medusa before her. Normally Talim might say something, but considering she was in complete combat mode, and probably a bit insane considering the status effects he could sense wafting off her, he wisely kept his mouth shut.

Talim covered his ears as she prepared her bullet and soon the sound of the gun firing could be felt through his entire body. Chuuni had kept nothing back in her assault. Well, it was probably a good thing as it appeared to at least stun the opponent, Mamo-clone was pretty much toast, the skeletons were becoming big boys, and Master Rodias was becoming a new piece of artwork. Talim was about to say something to Chuuni but...she decided to go in for the kill, despite the fact her whole shtick was being a sniper.

"Aye aye yai, guess I can't just enjoy the show anymore. Now that's a mighty big shame." Talim hurled himself off the roof to gain speed before engaging in flight mode to hurl toward the scene. As everyone seemed much more interested in engaging the Medusa that meant Talim had only one job to do, run away with Master Rodias. Talim was a saboteur, not really a killer anyway so going after the source of the problem was not gonna be much help anyway; besides, Chuuni was sacrificing her arms to attack the enemy so it would have been rude to interfere in such a noble sacrifice.

Getting behind and above Master Rodias, Talim went for a under the arm grip and lifted Rodias up for a dramatic rescue. Talim brought him up to his chest and as quickly as possible heading for the Chateau entrance toward relative safety and the Climax Chapter. Talim brought his lips to his ear and whispered as seductively as an Incubus could. "I'll be looking forward to my reward, Master."

No matter the time or place, one could always count on a little teasing from Talim, who of course made sure to look like he could be a cute girl at all times. "How much do you think saving your life is worth?" Talim started to breathe heavily on his ear as they went, partially because of his skills, and partially because Rodias was getting heavier by the second. Thankfully flight magic itself didn't care too much about weight, but Talim's thin arms sure cared!

This intruder wasn't the nicest of people, that was for sure. First she just comes prancing in demanding Rodius join her 'guild', then petrifies him from the waist down when he politely ignored her? That wouldn't do! And Light wasn't the only one to think this way, as a few others who didn't listen to Rodius' command to meet up inside the chateau acted upon themselves to defend him int heir own ways. While Light wasn't sure what Chuunitrixx was doing, she did know that this threat was on the ground with a bag over her head, and Rodius was immobilized. Seeing this, and knowing herself to be the strongest physically in the room, Light enacted her plan.

Since Chuunitrixx apparently decided she wanted to go on the attack, self harming herself in the process, Light sliced open a few portals in the air, sticking her arms through one to grab Rodius, helping Talim get a good grip of the boss man. When the incubus had a good grip of the boss and was moving into the chateau with him, Light ripped off one of her hands and opened another portal, forcing that hand into the intruders armor as best as she could, making her hand to crawl around her body and attempt to find its way into this person's armor better where it'd just sit and drain her energy/induce madness, or force her to disrobe in order to get at the invasive arm, while constantly trying to tickle the intruder with no regard for personal boundaries.

Missing her hand, Light opened a final portal to next to Talim, offering to take Rodius off of the sabotur's thin shoulders and helping them escape, making a retreat back to the meeting spot. "Such a rude lady, rude rude rude. Hope she likes tickles~." Light said, in an odd both sing song and threatening voice.

"I think it has its own charm," Kath said, not even recognizing her own accidental pun as the wagon continued on its way through the city. This was new information, perhaps not the pleasant kind if anyone were to ask her traveling companion, but new information nonetheless and the librarian couldn't help but eat it all up. Every sight and smell she experienced, her mind would begin rushing for the right adjectives and metaphors to describe them, before filing them away in her memory to write down at a later time. Upon their return to the Chateau, there would unmistakably be a new volume within The Athenaeum of Historia titled "The Wonders of the city East of Amberden." No wait, that was much too long. She needed to discover this city's name so she could create a better title.

Kath nodded as Charme reaffirmed with her their objective. She thought she may have seen a sign pointing in the direction of certain buildings like the library, but as the homunculus made her way over to a local to inquire with him, she decided it would be best to get a second opinion. Though if it had been up to her, maybe she wouldn't have picked someone who had looked quite so lecherous. To think someone would be so stubborn to make a pass at her companion twice in one conversation. It was so undignified.

For Kath, the literacy test had been so simple, she had believed it to be some sort of pre-test for the real thing. When they were allowed in, she was disappointed that that wasn't the case. Then she recalled her earlier dilemma back at The Wishing Well and decided that perhaps she should count her lucky stars instead and be grateful.

"I would like to start with any books on the history of this kingdom. Then perhaps, if it mentions any other civilizations that seem to be important enough to be repeatedly mentioned, any texts on those civilizations. Oh how I would love to read any books they have on cooking or law to better understand these people's culture as well, but depending on how deep the rabbit hole goes, we may not get the chance," Kath said, admiring the many volumes around her.

As she walked past the shelves, she would take notice of a group of philosophy books titled "A Treatise of Pure Reasoning and Basic Thought Vol. 2," "A Treatise of Pure Reasoning and Basic Thought Vol. 1," and "A Treatise of Pure Reasoning and Basic Thought Vol. 3." If Charme was looking, she might have noticed the flash of anger that appeared on Kath's face at she stared at the out of order books. Luckily, it quickly passed once she rearranged the series in order, mumbling to herself how disorganized this place was and how she wished to speak to the head librarian about her poor supervision of the library's visitors.

Before Graft's announcement had been transmitted to everyone, Kath had been sitting in the most uncomfortable chair she thought her rear had ever had the displeasure of sitting upon, reading by candlelight one of the texts she had checked out of the library. She even went so far as filling out the paperwork for a form of identification that the librarians would be able to recognize her from and contact her should she not return it on time. She doubted that it would all be properly put filed away judging by what she saw of their shelves though.

When she did learn of the attack, the dragonoid couldn't help but find herself anxiously pacing about in her and Charme's small room. No longer could she fill her time with reading, those she cared about the safety of were in danger. Her books could possibly be in danger too, but she held the lives of her fellow chapter guardians and other residents of Chateau Gothika to much greater value than her library. Somewhat.

"Please be safe everyone," she said.

As she was assisting Talim and Rodius to get to the Climax hour, Light could feel her other hand being squeezed through a narrow, slimy tube, as if it was eaten. "Ew, someone ate my hand. Welp, whoever did is probably dead." It didn't feel like the intruder herself ate Light's hand, so Light figured they summoned something to 'dispose' of her appendage. It was around this time she saw the look of fear on Rodius's face. "Oh don't worry bossman, thats just my aura... right? Well, it can't be making things any better..." Light said, trying to cheer Rodius up.

When the trio got to the Climax Hour, Light got the order to get the thing she was protecting this entire time out and into the boss's hands. "Ok... Welp, I guess it had to be used eventually, but now? Well, I don't even know what it does, so... yeah. Okie Dokie boss!" Light said, a bit confused at the order and how badly Rodius wanted the item. Putting one of her now freed fingers into her mouth, she blew into it, a new hand 'popping' out of the stub that was left when she ripped her old one off to attack the gorgon. She flexed her new hand a bit before slashing open a portal, teleporting to the vault room itself.

Light didn't have a portal that lead to the inside of the vault itself, but lead to the foyer of the vault. The vault door was very juxtaposed from the more eldritch area before it, looking like a big cartoony bank vault door instead of something that came out of HP lovecraft. Using her strength, Light opened up the very thing she had been guarding, going inside to pick up the item in question.

The vault, or at least the part that held the World Item, was pretty much vacant besides the item itself. There were other parts of the vault with different stuff stored in them, but as for now she was here for the big treasure. If anyone else had asked for this, light would've denied them, but Rodius was the boss and had the final say in what happened in here. Taking the treasure off its pedestal, Light stored it in her pocket space under her dress. With her job done, Light left the vault, sealed it back up, and made her way back to the Climax hour with one of her portals.

When she arrived, she looked around until she found Rodius. Making her way to the boss, she said. "OK boss, I got it." She made sure that the area was safe before pulling out the world item and gave it to Rodius. "Hope you know what your doing boss." She then got a thought and in another attempt to cheer up Rodis, she continued. "If bad things happen, couldn't we level and come back?"

@Guess Who

Dayime, at the Library:

"Very well, then I'll look up what I can about local customs and traditions, I think." Charme said, after hearing about what Kath wanted to read. In truth, Charme herself had originally planned to read about the history as well, but having two heads dedicated to the same field would be a waste of time.

She slightly smirked at the dragonoid's muttering about the disorganization of the library, when she had found a book placed in the wrong order. Granted, if Kath ever laid eyes on Charme's own bookcases or shelves, she'd probably have a heartattack, since there was no rhyme or reason to them at all. Then again, most of them were just records, recipes or notes, rather than actual books in the traditional sense. Still, the thought was amusing.

Wandering about the musty locale, Charme perused the shelves until she could find some texts that mentioned local customs, traditions and folklore. If they were going to do business and be ijn this country, it would certainly help to know what the people were like, what they did and didn't like, and what they believed and so on and so forth. Really, she had no interest in these things herself, but she had no choice in the matter - so after gathering a few books of her own, she took a seat at one of the tables, on a creaky chair, and began to read, casually flipping the pages one after another... The slog had begun.

Later at night, at the inn:

"Stop that." Charme said, shooting Kath a glance from the corner of her eye. "Milling around like a headless chicken won't do them, or us, any good." The homunculus said dryly and severely. She understood that Kath was nervous, but she also knew that nothing threre was nothing they could do to change anything going on at the Chateau at this point in time, and needlessly stressing and doing futile things wasn't going to do anyone any favors.

"Take a deep breath, sit down, close your eyes and count to ten." Charme half-instructed, half-ordered the librarian. "After you calm down, try and think of some way you can suggest something that'll help them. Prayers and well-wishing isn't going to turn the tides in a fight." Charme said bitterly, leaning back in her uncomfortable chair, letting out a long sigh as she rubbed her tmeple.

She could've lent potions and items to the others if she was back at the Chateau. But as it were, she had set the Wishing Well to a 'blank' room before she left, meaning there was currently nothing there, and only she and PowderPlaguePuff had the administrative priveleges to set and change the rooms, meaning that even if Rodias went down there, he wouldn't be able to access the storeroom. Her mudmen wouldn't be much use either, they only acrivated if you answered the Black Door wrong, and they stayed in the hallway, unable to leave. She hadn't left any familiars or other creatures behind either... How frustrating, there was just nothing she could do to help at the moment.

Hopefully, the others would manage to eek out a victory, somehow, and hopefully Rodias would remember how Bandersnatch fought - even if he was technically the only actual member around.

@The Irish Tree,@Stern Algorithm,@IceHeart,@Lugubrious

As Rodias arrived, looking worse for wear, a single member of the Shadowtower Shrine began to approach him, once he had sent Light off to fetch the guild's treasure, and once he was done thanking Talim. The golden-haired Mikoto approached her lord, placing her hands up towards his chest, as she stood right infront of him, closing her eyes and speaking gently.

"[Lion's Heart]."

A warm, reassuring light emerged from her open palms, seemingly flowing into the dhampir. The tall, green-skinned half-vampire could hear the courageous roar of a lion in his mind's ear, and some - though by no means all - of his fears and misgivings were alleviated and lessened. Once the glow vanished, Mikoto opened her ruby-red eyes and looked at the Sable Lord with a smile.

"Please don't look so distraught, Master Rodias. We're all here to lend you our strenght." She said with a brave smile, as she put one hand over her heart.

"Okay ladies! Let's get started!" Mikoto called, turning her head to lpok back over her own shoulder at the other shrine maidens gathered.

Then, bowing quickly, she hurried back to the other miko, who had all gathered in the Climax Hour along with the rest of the Chateau's majority. The other miko formed a half-circle around Mikoto, and her three tails slowly swayed from side to side in perfect unison. With a sudden clap, her hands came together infront of her, in a prayer-like stance. The other priestesses followed suit, mimicking the action perfectly. Each and every one of them closed their eyes and slightly lowered their heads, as Mikoto spoke once more.

"[Communal Prayer: Circle of Benevolence]"

At once, a large azure hexagram spread from underneath Mikoto's feet, expending outwards and soon covering most of the Climax Hour's floor. A circle, filled with intricate patterns and letters surrounded the six-pointed star, as it slowly rotated in a clockwise fashion along the ground. The soft glow it gave off illuminated the entire room, and those standing it could feel a sort of strange but pleasant energy slowly begin to seep into them. However, one after another, the miko began to speak and utter words, starting with the oldest at one end of the semi-circle, and then moving to the next girl over. Nobody spoke out of turn, nobody stumbled over their words. It was a rehearsed and well-disciplined act.

"[Communal Prayer: Mikoto, I participate.]" They each said, in turn and order.

With each one adding their support, the glow of the circle slightly increased. This skill, called Communal prayer, was an YGGDRASIL skill belonging to the miko-class. It allowed for multiple people to participate in a large-scale ritual spell, which increased in strength by one level per additional participajnt. Of course, speaking from a practical standpoint, this ability was only useful in defense, as the priestesses had to stand still, maintain focus on the Communal Prayer and channel their MP into it.

The benefits were quite good though. Even though the ritual drained each partaker's MP, the more that joined in, the slower the MP-drain on each individual was. Of course, eventually, once someone ran out of MP, the drain would increase until the next one ran dry, and so on and so forth. With Mikpto being a level 35, and there being roughly twenty other shrine maidens joining in her ritual, the spell had an effective level to that of a spell cast by a level 50~ character. The Circle of Benevolence itself offered a slight boon to allies within the field of effect, increasing their magicc and physical defenses by a bit, as well as placing a constant buff of lesser regeneration. By no means was this group-ritaul going to be a game-changer or the deal-breaker that tipped the scales in their favor, but it was all that the shrine maidens could do to help.

With the rest of them being only between levels 10 to 20, and Mikoto being at 35, there was no way they could feasibly do anything to Morgan, except die inglorious deaths if they tried. Hopefully, by allowing their stronger comrades to fight, and supporting them with what they had, they could at least be somewhat useful.

Team Zouyu is banned from using triple maximize

Upon hearing the call from Graft Kladora stumbled and then halted her careful stride though the field of crustaceans to listen to the message, holding up a hand to halt the other’s advance along with hers.

“Oh dear. Well that does not sound good.” she said quietly to herself before raising a hand and gesturing for the party to return to solid ground.

One hurried explanation later and the hunting party were all racing back to the chateau at full pelt under the influence of several rider and beast tamer movement speed buffs. As they did so Zouyu looked for reassurance that everyone back at the chateau was going to be alright.

“They’ll be fine,” Kaldora replied, but considering communications had been interrupted via double explosion only moments ago it was hard to be reassuring “I hope”

“And if they canny win without us, what in the blazes are we gonna do when we get there to turn the tide” Arthanar asked

“Then we’ll have to act as the cavalry. Our progenitor’s collections, our home, our kin and comrades are in danger. We must do what we can to protect them all.” She replied before doing what she could from far away

“Now somebody get me a bird so that- No wait. We have Graft.” she started ordering for their rather mundane form of communication before realizing she, probably, still had an open line to the director and the others.

“Hello darlings, this is Kladora speaking. Zouyu, the Hunt and I are racing back as quickly as can be, but we are still a ways away. However, if one of you can get a hold of Agathina, or just get her on the line, and advise her of the nature of the threat we may be able to pull something out of the pens to help counter the invader. Just be aware that the higher level the beast we bring out the harder it will be to control.” she said to anyone listening, silently praying that that wouldn't be considered necessary.

The Beast Pens

“Secure the cages! Unleash the hounds! Uh. uh. Prime the traps! We can't let anyone who comes down here survive for more than a second!” Agathina, the plate armored Vampiric Beast Tamer who had been left in charge yelled as chaos engulfed the Beast Pens in response to the alarms. Thralls and Vampires scrambled to get the underground pens prepared for invasion. Some precious beasts were locked away from sight to protect them, others were let off their leashes and various traps were primed to drop invaders down into the pens from the surface grounds of the manor. The ones leading down into the aquatic section of the pens were particularly nasty for anyone wearing heavy armor, but most would lead down to kill zones or particularly nasty pens.

The sound of frantic activity died down as everyone got into their designated positions and was replaced by a weary silence as they watched the drop points. And waited. And watched. And waited.

“Nothing?” Agathina finally said as she peaked up from behind the wall of the crude command center built at the center of the Pens. She glanced down the long halls to the other watch posts and, after exchanging a few chains of hand signals and messenger animals, verified that none of the traps had been triggered.

“Either they got lucky or it’s a very small group?” suggested Dominique, who was the highest level hunter left in the chateaux, “Either way. They’re onto the climb by this point, so should we stand down?”

Agathina scratched at her gauntleted arm agitatedly, and then shook her head “I. I don't know if they’ll just leave if they win like they should do? Or that they’re heading up at all? What if they come down here instead?!” she said, becoming increasingly agitated about the prospect of the invaders not following the rules of invasions.

Dominique frowned, then grabbed her musket and waved a few other hunters over “Then I’ll go find out what’s going on”

“Oh? Yes. Good idea. Take a messenger bird with you and, uh, don’t get in trouble,” Agathina replied, before getting one of the scouts a messenger pigeon to report back.

“We won’t. See you soon,” Dominique promised, before she dashed towards one of the ways up to the surface followed by three other vampires.

“Stay safe!” Agathina called out after them before sighing and hunkering back down in the command post with one more thing to worry about.

It was time. Everyone was giving it their all to defeat this threat, but even their best won’t be enough to truly stop the monster that is Morgan. Bone Daddy knew this well; it wasn’t unusual in their past lives to have been raided by enemies of the Chateau who by all rights, far outstripped them in power. The strong rules the weak after all, and that wasn’t any different here. But the Chateau was not weak. It may not be powerful, but it was far from weak. Because when you are desperate, backed into a corner, prey learns how to bare their fangs and fight back against those who thought to oppress them. Suddenly, everyone would hear a ringing in their ear.

“Please clear the area.”

Suddenly a giant black fist exploded out from the ground. It wrapped itself around Morgan tightly, so much that even she would have difficulty escaping. And if that wasn’t enough and unfathomable amount of Eletrical energy began to surge through the first and electrocute the Gorgon. Emerging fully from the gardens was a massive black skeleton: Shin Gashadokuro. A skeletal giant made of one thousand skeletons, and at its head was none other than Butterfly. Even just half of this monstrosity was nearly as tall as the tallest tower in the Chateau, and the rest of it was still coming out from the ground. But this wasn’t Butterfly’s trump card.

“This party is over. I shall clean up this mess.”

As he continued to crush and electrocute Morgan to stun and restrain her, the gashadokuro slammed his fist towards the ground. But it would never touch even a spec of dirt; not before a single Bone Martyr stood up and walked where the point of impact was at. He opened his mouth and shoved his hand inside, an act which caused space itself to warp right as the fist crushed the martyr. In an instant, a black hole formed that sucked in everything within ten feet: the ground, the snow, Morgan, and even gashadokuro itself was pulled into this black hole and teleported into the endless realm of space: the Astral Plane.

Falling from the skies was Butterfly who, despite his actual name, lacked any means of flight as he would plummet to the ground. He had disengaged himself from gashadokuro just in time to avoid getting sucked into the Astral Realm and gave the giant the final command to slay Morgan by whatever means necessary. A potential but at the same time uncertain possibility. They still don’t know Morgan’s full abilities. Bone Daddy simply hopes Shin Gashadokuro would be enough to at least finish her off.

“Master Rodias, we need to discuss today’s events. It is of urgent importance.”

These words Bone Daddy said calmly as he would soon hit the ground.

Seeing the bulky General flung aside like an unwanted ragdoll, a certain realization dawned inside Ashara's head. Namely, that if a brute in heavy armor like Gromgard could be flung aside like yesterday's garbage, then a lithe and more dainty frame, such as herself, would likely not fair particularly well either. For this reason, staying put and allowing the on-coming, charging Tree-tendeing cultist to get to her was likely not a desirable outcome. As such, the nine-tailed fox opted to avoid this outcome.

"[Wind Walk: Three Steps]!" She xclaimed, as she slightly bent down, before pushing off with her legs, jumping up into the air.

As her momentum faded and she began to drop, a magical circle of bright green appeared underneath her feet, and using it as a spring-board, the kitsune propelled herself further into the air. Once again, just as gravity was about to pull her back down, the process repeated and she bounded even further into the air, far above her fellow Chateau allies, and more importantly, the Cultist Leader. The third time, however, she did not use the circle as a bouncy-pad, but instead, stopped upon it - as if it were some kind of magical ploatform.

To those with very keen eyes though, one could tell taht slowly, very, very slowly, Ashara was descending, but the magic cirlce of wind - which by the way was making her haori robe flutter rather carelessly up in the air - was doing a great job of making it seem like she was actually standing in midair, far above the ground.

While she did want to bound over to where Gromgard had landed, the fact remained that Ashara didn't really have any healing or recovery-type spells or abilties, at least not ones that would benefit anyone but herself. After all, she was designed as a wandering and patrolling interceptor, not a support or other benefactor. So, in the end, even if she went to the Shadowman's side, there wasn't anything she could've done for him.

Instead, she focused her amethyst eyes on the tree. Earlier, when she had hurled her Spirit Bullets at it, the cultist had moved in to cover the vile thing from her attacks. Which meant one of two things: Either the Tree was some kind of source of power for the Cultist, or, the cultist considered the Tree more important than himself. In either case, her bullets had seemed to do and be more effective against the abominable plant-thing than the deranged tender anyway, and with that in mind...

"[Fox-fire]!" Ashara called out, while stretching out an arm towards the tree and spreading her fingers wide.

Thus, while still in the air, nine blue flames suddenly appeared around Ashara's body. Each roughly the size of a modern volleyball. Within an instant, they left her side, flying towards the wooden-corpse-creature in spiralling, helix-like motions and patterns. They functioned similar to spells like Magic Missile, where the blue bolts of fire were unerring and would not miss their target, as they would change trjactory and course if obstacles got in the way.

Fox-fire was a racial spell of the kitsune. It had a rather long cooldown too, but its effects were rahter unique. The initial hit didn't do very much damage, but it did afflict the target with a unique status called 'Fox Curse'. Any subsequent hits from other Fox-fire-bolts would deal increased damage. If all bolts successfully hit, the target would suffer a final, hard-hitting and large-damaging explosion, which would also set them aflame with the 'Burning'-status effect. Naturally, spells like 'Remove Curse', 'Dispel' or other similar debuff-cleaners would remove the 'Fox Curse'-effect, causing the attack to only deal medicore magic damage at best.

Hopefully though, their enemy didn't have access to such measures. Those were Ashara's thoughts at least, as she slowly, slowly descended further from the air towards the sky, thougn still far above ground.
