Hullo. This is something I dreamed up to link together a few inspirational properties that I thought would mesh together quite well. The likes of DOOM (2016/Eternal) and the comic Kill Six Billion Demons are the foremost influence here, as well as the artistic works of Francine Bridge and Zdzisław Beksiński. A good handful of elements have been borrowed from White Wolf's Demon: the Fallen, and the overall tone of horrifically violent animesque battle between demons is drawn from Devilman Crybaby.

In this roleplay, you will play as one of the 72 demons named in the Lesser Key of Solomon (for reasons I will explain later), who is left to their own devices in the anarchy following the inexplicable disappearance of Satan from his throne in Hell. Most of your fellow demons have reacted to his absence by instigating a power struggle the likes of which unseen since the original War in Heaven. It is up to you to either quell this anarchy until the rightful Prince of Hell's return, seek him out to solve the mystery of his disappearance, or attempt to seize the throne for yourself. Complicating the matter is the current state of Earth, which in a too-near future is on the brink of ecological and societal collapse; ripe pickings for a demon powerful enough to take control of mankind for their own ends.

I'm limiting character choice to the 72 Goetic demons purely to introduce some semblance of structure to character creation; "demon" is a very vague concept, and I feel that this will guide players closer to what I envision the tone of the RP to be. That is not to say that you must depict them as strictly as possible, I'm not forcing anyone to play as a lion head with five legs, but your interpretation of your chosen demon should still read as an interpretation, and not a wholly original creation. I'll generally allow reservations on a first-come basis, but be aware that claiming a powerful Prince such as Bael comes with both advantages and disadvantages, which may not be apparent right away.

I'm very interested in this! I do have some questions however. How common is travel between Earth and Hell? (Both for demons and humans, to clarify.) I assume some humans are willing to work with demons? You mentioned cyberpunk so I kinda want a demon with a robo-arm or eye.

@Kafka Komedy Depends on the demon. A weaker demon is able to slip out of Hell without much difficulty, but usually needs a human host in order to maintain a corporeal presence. More powerful demons require intricate rituals and sacrifices in order to ease their passage out of the inferno, and may require metaphysical anchors to sustain themselves in the mortal world.

There are some humans willing to work with demons to some end or another, though it varies by the person, naturally. Generally, no one is summoning a demon without a purpose in mind.

The cyberpunk thing is more for humans, our demons come from a metaphysical realm where that sort of thing isn't really necessary.

@Dead Cruiser What do you mean by metaphysical anchors? Something like a Lich's phylactery, an item that contains their soul? Though, for the demon I guess the item would just chain them to earth and breaking it would send them back to hell yeah?

EDIT: Another question: Should we all start out in Hell, or could some of us start on Earth?

@Kafka Komedy More or less, yes. Demons aren't meant to exist on Earth, and have to take measures to circumvent the forces in place to keep them in Hell.

Potentially? It would probably be better if you started in Hell, and not already possessing someone on Earth, but we can see. If you plan to play a more powerful demon, you'll have to fight your way to Earth within the RP.

@Dead Cruiser Okay, last question-- Beelzebub. Will he have a part in the story? The Demon Eligos is mentioned as having a gift from him so I was thinking maybe a devoted knight-demon of Beelz could be a cool character concept.

@Kafka Komedy Baal Zebub is an incarnation of Satan in his role as the lord of all demons and ruler over damned souls. Leviathan, Lucifer, Satan, etc, are all incarnations of the same entity mantling different roles. It's a weird thing that comes with the territory of being the most powerful demon in the universe.

I find myself interested. Possibly in playing Gusion.

I might be picking duke Astaroth, but still looking for a proper picture for him - although I believe I found one for his mount.

Being as they are metaphysical, can you give us a general concept on how our demons should look like? More human, more monstrous, somewhere in between, or whatever we want?

Question, since we'll be playing as essentially the baddest dudes/dudettes of Hell, will we also command the legions mentioned in the wiki page? Or will this be more personal?

I'm not going to have specific demands for your demons, only understand that your characters were most likely originally Old Testament angels, and so your characters' appearances may be somewhat, abstract.

@Cleverbird Demonic legions are completely acceptable, as long as you understand that they're basically legions of things like Imps, and any one of you is basically Doomguy. They're useful, but only to certain ends, which is why many demons are resorting to more esoteric and underhanded methods in this power struggle.

An Ars Goetia illustrated copy you say? Well, you certainly are prepared in that front!

Regardless, I think I found a suitable pic for Astaroth and will begin a profile as soon as the sheet is up. Although Im curious about the pictures in your possession - do the demons look like this or something else?
