As this is getting so popular, I'm going to limit it to one character per person for now. Anyway, the OOC probably won't be up for a couple of days as I have to write and format it, and also finalise a name for the school and the canon.
I'll stop anyone from getting too bored until then by providing the CS skeleton.
Appearance: Anime picture is preferred, but description is fine.
Costume:
Name:
Hero/Vigilante Name:
Gender:
Age: First year students are 13-16.
Height:
Weight:
Personality: What are you like? Anything particular we need to know?
Background: Give us a brief summary of your life up until now, along with the reason why your character ended up here instead of somewhere more....prestigious.
Quirk: Remember that Quirks are biological, and fall into three classes; Emitter, Transformer and Mutant. If you'd like to keep your quirk a secret, just mention that on the sheet and PM me your quirk instead.
Quirk: Festive Lights Transformation Activating the quirk generates a current of electricity through the user's body that is usually signified by colored lights adorning he user's antlers and a light centralized on her nose. Colors are tied to the user's emotional state, to include colors, brightness, and flashing.
Physical excertion and impact causes built up charge of electricity which concentrates on the top of the cranium between the dynamo like antlers. When fully charged, a physical sphere of electrically charged light, roughly the size of a marble, manifests and gently floats down, clinging to any solid surface. The user can physically pick up these spheres while others feel a minor shock when handling them. These motes of light disappear in about a minute after manifesting.
So far, the motes of light have only been useful in charging electronic devices that have batteries, such as cell phones.
Quirk Temper Fridge is an accumulation-emitter quirk utilized to preserve and control temperature through touch, precaution's enforced by gloves to prevent sudden heating or cooling. Her body is the conduit to channel and generate hot and cold while objects not bigger than a truck are the object of temperature preservation. She may also use her temperature within like fuel to summon a song of ice and fire.
A perfect harmony of hot and cold and understanding of thermodynamics subject is required to seamlessly use Temper Fridge. Without balance, the quirk leads to self harm and beyond its self Achilles-heels, Temper Fridge is weak against metals designed to withstand intense temperatures such as tungsten alloy, etc. Temperature preservation is neutralized against objects that deter temperature such as the natural but intense altitude and extreme masses like giant structures like a stadium. This also includes natural occuring phenomenon like extreme temperatures.
Kiona so far can only be a walking fridge or heater, thermoregulate herself and preserve objects' temperature not bigger than a truck. She can also give warm hugs and set people's temperature on the right direction, no harmful intent to living things at all because of restraint and her good nature.
Personality: What are you like? Anything particular we need to know?
Background: Give us a brief summary of your life up until now, along with the reason why your character ended up here instead of somewhere more....prestigious.
Quirk: Speed Theft - Seijin siphons or 'steals' the speed off of objects and/or people to slow or even outright stop them in their tracks. The upper limit of his ability to steal speed caps off at the point when his bodily functions begin to run too fast, raising his body temperature and causing him to overheat.
Notes: A lean athletic build, possessing various scale patches across her body, along with a somewhat beefy lizard-like tail.
Costume: Searching for one still
Name: Kaijiwara Homura
Hero Name: The Huntress
Gender: Female
Age: 15
Height: 6'0
Weight: 173lbs
Personality: A short tempered young lady, often choosing violence over peaceful negotiations to settle a dispute. Somewhat selfish and self-absorbed, Homura is generally hostile towards authoritative figures and feels little incentive to follow orders with which she disagrees. She has an unhealthy obsession with winning and reacts negatively to losing in any form. Prompting her to resort to underhanded tactics whenever the opportunity strikes.
Background: Unlikely as it may seem, Homura was born into a prestigious and rich family. They own a successful support company which rivals the major competitors around the world, but are vastly popular in japan. A younger sister to a globally renowned hero 'Crystalys', Shizuyo Kajiwara, the crystal kaiju. Yet, Homura shows no interest in her family's wealth nor does she care about sullying their reputation with her wild behavior. All she cares about is surpassing her sister in the form of a brutal ass kicking and keeping a promise to a close friend.
What annoys her the most, is the fact that her family highly praises the more civilized elder sister, paying no attention to her own successes. This led her to become a troublemaker when she was young and often started fights with anyone who dared to look at her the wrong way. All to shine attention upon herself and establish her own identity, stubbornly refusing to live in her sister's shadow.
Her cousin, Masahashi, was one of Homura's primary targets among the family whenever she wanted to blow off steam. Their relationship had always been rocky, as Shizuyo was responsible for watching over the two whenever she was off duty. It always boiled down to shielding Masahashi from Homura's unglued rage, giving off the impression that she was giving him more attention than her own little sister! On top of that, Masahashi was being groomed to inherit his father's company. Homura didn't care about the inheritance itself, but it angered her to learn that she wasn't even considered to be a potential candidate. Despite how heavily influential her elder sister was to their side of the family.
Adopting an independent attitude, she often roamed out of the house to do kaiju things. This includes rolling with an unlawful crowd. Specifically, joining unsanctioned fight clubs where quirks were permitted.
Oddly enough, her mother encouraged her mischief behavior, while the father tried to teach her some discipline through martial arts and intensive training. It worked to some extent, but the result caused her to become a better fighter and fueled her hatred for her sister. Learning the art of provocation, she bluntly issue challenges to those who catch her eye. Using whatever means to start a fight without being the one to initiate it first, at least from her point of view. Unfortunately, her temper often gets the better of her.
During one of her matches in an underground fight tournament, one of her opponents suffered a career ending spinal cord injury from Homura's attack. They were closest thing Homura ever had to a rival and best friend. She deeply cherished their battles and memories they shared, but was too stubborn to openly admit it. She wanted to quit fighting after that, fearing that she would make the same mistake again in the future. But, her former rival urged her to keep fighting. Claiming it would be disrespectful to them if she were to give up.
After a bit of sulking and self-reflection, Homura took it upon herself to inherit her rival's dream and become a fighting hero. Her path led her to (School Name Here), a step closer to her own personal goal.
Quirk: Kaiju; A transformation class quirk. Homura's quirk allows her to manipulate the size of her body and transform into a kaiju-like creature, as one would see in Japanese fiction.
Currently, she could only scale up to a maximum height of ten meters. The transformation itself is heavily dependent on how angry she gets, so the size often varies in between her base form and maximum form. Still, it's rather small for a self-proclaimed kaiju.
While transformed, she cannot adjust her size at all, she would have to cancel her transformation in order to do so. However, due to the unrefined usage of her quirk, Homura suffers a rather comical side-effect. One of which often shatters her pride as a fighter.
Once a transformation is deactivated, she temporarily reverts to a three foot tall chibi version of herself. It renders her unable to transform again in quick succession. The amount of time spent in her chibi form, is roughly equivalent to the amount of time she spent in her enlarged form.
The outfit is intended to be altered as time goes on, for now, it has a bunch of eye catching LED lights which are powered by her quirk.
Name:
Carol Tennebalm
Hero/Vigilante Name:
NOEL
Gender: Female
Age: 13
Height: 5'1"
Weight: 108 lbs
Personality: A nerd. A spaz. A loser. A braniac. A bookworm. Carol was all of these in her past and... that hasn't much changed. Oh wait, add a few more things. An idealist! An icon! A philanthropist! A HERO!
Carol is passionate, fiercely kind, outgoing and opinionated. She speaks her mind as if she's got something to prove, and she wont let her lisp, her nasally voice, or her nerdy bookworm trivia hold her back. To those who knew her a long time, this is a complete 180 from her previous introverted personality, and at times moments of stress or conflict will cause her to lose her confidence and her cool, turning her into a jibbering mess of nerves.
While she is pretty bright, almost obnoxiously so from her various interests and studious mannerisms, that doesn't make her charismatic, and her social skills and leadership are a bit lacking. She's still kind of a crybaby over things that are scary, and she is completely hopeless when it comes to matters of the heart. Regardless, she is one of the sweetest, most understanding, and honest friends one could have.
Above all things, she hates bullies, and she's ready to stand up for herself, and anyone else.
Background: For someone that comes from a family with a bunch of odd connections to Christmas, Carol's life sure wasn't very holly jolly. Her family is from Oregon America, and had moved to Japan when she was about four as part of her mom's new position as division head for a Christmas Store franchise. Right from the get go she had a couple of problems that made her a really bad target for bullies.
1. She's always been on the small, frail side. Her red eyes and white hair made her look like an albino, but she's actually just anemic. This makes her constantly feel cold (She still wears sweaters, scarves, and mittens, even in summer time) and she gets winded easily. Being bad at sports and looking sickly does not win you friends.
2. She developed a lisp after an infection inflamed her tonsils just enough to not require surgery, but enough to give her a nasally voice and emphasis' on the 'sh' sounds.
3. Her quirk developed at the tender age of four. Two antlers appearing one day, complete with christmas tree lights and a big red nose. One kid made the connection of Rudolph. The name stuck with her all of primary school.
4. Her quirk is border line useless and everyone knew it. She might as well have been quirkless from how well she could defend herself from others with more, potent quirks.
5. She's the forth oldest of a family of nine. One of those orthodox families. Plus a busy mom and dad meant she didn't get alot of support and was commonly forgotten.
6. She read alot, did her homework, and answered the teachers question. Of course she was the class nerd, of course she was.
7. Despite being small and frail, she developed early, and developed alot. With that came alot of boy's attention and her shallow jealous 'friends' at the time began to turn against her.
That was the last straw.
Eventually she just stopped trying...
She cut school, her grades plummeted. She went to the digital world of online forums, video games, and chat websites. It was better when you didn't see their eyes. When you didn't exist. It was better to just be forgotten. She found others like her. People that just want to disappear. They didn't have anyone, but eachother. Maybe that's why she spoke out so adamantly when someone confided in her that they wanted to end it all. Something snapped in her. All of her sorrow came pouring out. All of her heart went into one thing. Talking this stranger. This friend from across the world into living. He thanked her. His family thanked her.
It felt... good.
It felt good to help someone. To be noticed and thanked for it. She tried it again. Helping at a toy donation drive. A soup kitchen. A battlefield clean up. She'd get smiles. Compliments. She'd get attention and praise. It was addictive. She loved it. It made her happy. She wanted more.
While she screwed up her chances with the school she was before (sudden tardiness for weeks on end would do that) her family helped her persue what she wanted. To become a hero. She wan'ts the attention, the praise. She wouldn't be accepted with her health and her quirk... except One school.
Quirk:
Festive Lights
Transformation Activating the quirk generates a current of electricity through the user's body. This is signified by colored lights adorning he user's metallic antlers and lights on the cheeks and nose. These lights are tied to the user's emotional state, to include colors, brightness, and flashing. When Activated, the user has the following abilities.
Energy Creation: Physical excertion and impact causes built up charge of electricity which concentrates on the top of the cranium between the dynamo like antlers. When fully charged, a physical sphere of electrically charged light, roughly the size of a marble, (Colors vary) manifests and gently floats down, clinging to any solid surface but gently attracted by metals and sources that hold electricity such as wires or batteries. At present, walking 5-6 steps will produce a single mote while running produces a mote per 2-3 steps. A wild limb movement like a punch produces one mote, while getting hit produces motes proportional to the receiving strike. So far, the motes of light have only been useful as light sources, or charging electronic devices that have batteries, such as cell phones.
Energy Manipulation: The user can physically touch up these spheres/motes while others feel a minor shock when attempting to handle them. These motes of light disappear in about a minute after manifesting.
Energy Transfer: The user's electrical field is capable of absorbing and redistributing electrical energy into motes. This provides some level of resistance to electrical damage, provided the source is not too strong as to override the transfer of electricity into motes. The user at this time can make several motes when handling the raw electrical components of minor devices/appliances.
Other: The whole point of her quirk is that she is a walking powerplant, converting kinetic and biological energy into electric and photonic energy. My intention is to use that with her braininess to eventually have her become an inventor, when she figures that part out. The whole hero choice is kind of new to her from the start. Powering gadgets is where her quirk is meant to shine. Incidentally, the potential for support items and costumes for other classmates is a potential moment for character interaction and development.
Almost always wears her mask and tattered green cloak, regardless of whatever outfit she's wearing underneath. Dulga only takes off her mask to eat and her cloak when she takes a bath.
Costume:
Not really caring about fancy looks Dulga wears practical body armor as her hero costume. Her arms are tough enough not to need armor since they're busy with the heavy lifting. Though not exactly part of her costume Dulga also uses a PTRD rifle when in her hero costume.
Personality: Dulga is stoic and reserved, befitting a quiet hunter. Not only does her mask hide most of her expressions but she rarely shows much of a physical reaction to anything. Dulga’s lack of emotion also makes it hard for her to sympathize with others, which can make her seem apathetic or even hostile. Dulga seems to only put up this attitude around others however and when she's alone she's much more prone to speaking to herself and expressing her feelings through action.
Dulga has a strange instinct when she's around a threat, as her body becomes tense and she becomes even more stony and silent. Her focus becomes taking out the threat, even if she should do something like save bystanders or helping her allies. She generally prioritizes threats over saving others out of the pragmatic belief that if she doesn't, than all she's doing is endangering herself and others by allowing dangerous things to be on the loose.
Background: Dulga was born far from civilization between another six-armed man and a huntress. That man was her father, and the huntress was Dulga’s mother. Dulga’s father was a skilled smith who once made all sorts of weapons and armor for heroes, until one day a villain stole his prized weapon and caused great destruction. Afterwards Dulga’s father became a hermit in the mountains. Dulga’s mother was a quirkless bounty hunter using nothing but gunplay and traps to defeat her bounties. Her parents met one day on the mountain and fell in love with each other and thus Dulga was born.
Dulha was often raised by her mother who taught Dulga all she knew about hunting and shooting. Even as Dulga’s quirk started to manifest, she still focused on her mother’s teachings and simply used her quirks to improve her sharpshooting. Dulga’s father taught Dulga how to use her quirk, which was exactly like his own. He taught her how to properly manage her strength, how to get accustomed to using her arms, and how to hide them.
Everything changed one day when her home was attacked by villains. Someone learned who Dulga’s father was and they intended to kidnap him and force him to make weapons for them. Dulga and her mother just came back from hunting when they found the villains attacking their home. Her mother sprung into action and fought back while Dulga hid. Dulga then witnessed the full strength of her father, who was able to shatter boulders and rip holes into the earth with his mighty fists. But before the battle was won the villains had one last evil plot: if they couldn't take Dulga’s father, they were going to kill him and his family with a wildfire. They set the forest ablaze while Dulga was still hiding inside. Dulga was caught in the inferno before her family drove the villains away from their homes.
Dulga survived with severe burns over the left side of her face and most of her back, but only because her mother died trying to save Dulga. Shocked and grieving, Dulga and her father moved back to the city and sought safety with a hero organization. Dulga was put into a regular school but after what had happened she never grew close to anyone. It didn't help that many people were scared of how Dulga looked, from her extreme height, her burns, and her arms.
Over time Dulga and her father grew distant. He began depressed even as he went back to work and sought aid for his loss. He was rarely ever home. Dulga's sadness began to change into a hunger for vengence. She began to do research on the people who attacked her family, her father's history, as well as honing her own skills so that one day she can avenge her mother and defeat the one responsible for her death. However she knew that she couldn't be reckless about this: in this day and age vigilantes don't last very long if they end up on the radar of both heroes and villains. As much as Dulga's hatred wanted her to start tracking down her mother's killer she had to be patient like a hunter. In order to secure the means to wage her war Dulga decided that she needed to pass as a hero. This would allow her the resources and training she needs in order to exact vengeance without having to worry about some heroes stopping her. As she wasn't interested in the ideals of heroism or the competition that went with it, Dulga applied to a low-ranking school that could still qualify students as Heroes if they graduate the classes.
Quirk: Asura Arms - Dulga has six arms total, two normal arms and four extra arms that grow out from her back. Despite how thin and damaged they look, each of her arms, even Dulga’s normal arms, are strong enough to lift five times Dulga’s own body weight with ease. Effectively super strength. When she uses all her arms in sync they’re even stronger. The strength isn't limited to just to arms but her whole body, including her legs, body, and even jaw. In addition to ensure her body doesn't tear itself apart under the strain of her strength, it's also quite durable to withstand the force and pressure it exerts.
Other: Dulga is an avid and experienced hunter, just like her mother. Not only does she have a sharp eye to spot small, hidden prey, she’s incredibly patient and focused. When it comes to gunplay she quick and precise, and could even snipe the wings off a bird with one bullet if she’s gotten just a minute to lead her target. Dulga is also surprisingly sneaky thanks to her time as a hunter, despite her size and appearance.
Dulga is a good dancer. She likes music and her entire family often danced to the radio and to her mother’s various foreign music. While her dad doesn’t dance anymore Dulga can often be found dancing by herself while listening to whatever music she has on hand. Very good rhythm and physically fit.
Costume: His costume is rather simple and straightforward - a skintight white long sleeved shirt that reaches up to his neck. Over that is a light blue jacket with zippered pockets sewn on the inside portion of it where snacks are usually stored. He has loose light blue pants with two white circles around the bottom part on both legs. He wears specialized white shoes where his bubblegum can seep through the soles. The main addition is a reinforced container strapped onto him which has a cooling mechanic. It's only purpose is to store soda for emergencies. Kousuke only needs to reach towards its side to grab a tube so that he can drink from there.
Name: Kousuke Horiyama
Hero/Vigilante Name: Gumball
Gender: Male
Age: 14
Height: 5'4 [162.56 cm]
Weight: 124 lbs [56.25 kg]
Personality: Kousuke is a rather bubbly person - all puns intended. Energetic and friendly, he tackles each day with a smile on his face. While he would never say that he has unbridled optimism no matter the situation, he does believe that there is always a way out. There are always options presented to you - sometimes, it may not be something that you would normally choose, but it's still an option. He does seek to do good for the common people and would like to fight for what is right - but first, he needed to have a license to be able to use his quirk.
To combat his muteness, Kousuke is expressive in both facial expressions and actions. There are times where he gets irritated by having to use a text to speech function and ends up frustrated when no one can understand him but he cools down quickly for the most part. He doesn't like talking about himself and tries to avoid it as much as possible.
Background: Kousuke's life had been normal. Both of his parents worked normal jobs, their quirks never really having much use. His father was a normal office worker and his mother was a kindergarten teacher. And as far as he was concerned, he was living the best life. He watched the news about heroes but never really cared too much about it. He had discovered his quirk at an early age and passed out from it too, from an early age. The doctors had recommended for him to carry around a blood sugar meter and to test himself every now and then to make sure that he's within the bounds of normalcy. While he didn't frequently use his quirk, it certainly was useful when he was getting a tad bit lazy every now and then.
When he was eight years old, a small time villain had kidnapped him and stole his voice before kidnapping him. He used Kousuke as bait and his voice to call out to concerned people and then mugged them. Kousuke was missing for a total of a week before he was found by a vigilante - not a hero. He's never heard of many heroes in his area. And his case didn't get as much attention as the major villains that the pro-heroes deal with. The vigilante and his partner managed to track him down and pull him out before defeating the villain once he was safely out of the way. Unfortunately, the villain couldn't give Kousuke his voice back to when he was returned, his parents had to cope with his trauma and his new disability.
Kousuke doesn't like talking about that time in his life. It was much easier to tell people he was mute from the start than to drop such a heavy bomb on them. After a few years of therapy, he had managed to bring himself back. He only occasionally visits his therapist now and he finds these visits refreshing and enjoyable. His parents kept a close eye on him during this time but when he recovered, they slowly started to ease up on their protectiveness. It wasn't their fault he was kidnapped, and neither was it his. He was simply at the wrong place at the wrong time. He had expressed a want to become a vigilante but his parents shot that down quickly. It was useless going against the law and found him a small time highschool closeby that had a Hero course.
Not wishing to go far from his parents nor did it really matter to Kousuke. What he wanted was a license to be able to use his quirk without the police getting on his case, so this was perfectly fine for him. No need for prestigious schools, though he imagined they came with their own benefits, this school was enough. So he signed up for the hero course.
Quirk: Bubblegum - Kousuke has the ability to produce light blue translucent bubblegum-like substance from his skin. He has the ability to make it adhesive and elastic. The quirk itself has a lot of versatility depending on the creativity of the user. The bubblegum itself can support five adult males and even more if he chooses to make it thicker. He can throw the gum and use it to be able to propel himself forward, spread it in front of him to act as a shield and even create a bouncy trampoline if he spends enough.
The bubblegum creation directly gets from his blood sugar so Kousuke often suffers from low blood sugar and can even pass out if he uses it too much. However, because of his quirk, he doesn't suffer from having too much blood sugar as he can store more than an average human being.
Other: Kousuke is effectively mute after a villain attack from his childhood. Now, he communicates through paper, phone, sign language or he can also create objects of his quirk to help with communication.
Kousuke hates being bound for a long time nor does he like being in dark places, alone, for an extended period of time. Both cases can lead him into a panic attack if it continues despite his warnings. He can usually calm himself down with a few practices taught to him by his therapist but the school counselor has been alerted of his condition so that in severe cases, the counselor can be called in.
Kousuke has been training with the usage of his quirk in secret ever since the incident and has gotten quite proficient in it.
✣ Personality: There’s some irony to be said about Junko, especially regarding her Quirk. Indeed, for someone whose power relies on fear, she herself isn’t much vocal in those matters. Or any. Quiet, reserved, and generally only speaking when spoken to or when necessary, Junko finds comfort in keeping to a small circle of friends and acquaintances. Prolonged social behavior tires her out-probably the excuse for the constant bags under her eyes-and she’d rather let actions speak for her words anyway. That, and she’d rather not speak much at all.
If nothing else though, such near-timid behavior does wonders to her Quirk after all. Often she’s been perceived as, “that quiet girl who kind of reminds you of a horror flick ghost”. Given her looks and soft-spoken nature it’s not hard to make such assumptions and these antsy reactions only serve to help bolster her Quirk. Junko isn’t completely inept either; if she notes something will creep out the people around her, she’ll do it, if not for her Quirk, then for a reputation. Perhaps under that shy exterior is a girl who likes mischief more than she’d like to admit….
✣ Background: Really, is it any wonder Junko didn’t end up in UA? Or any big-name hero school? Is it really? With a Quirk like hers, Junko was practically destined to be glanced off and put aside for not being “heroic” enough. A fear-based Quirk, especially one that worked in her manner, would have had no place in proper hero society as it stood. Thus, she was recommended to try out for one of the more local schools that were laxed and lenient on the matter. To hear that Madame Obsidian herself, a turncoat villain, was teaching as well proved to also be some inspiration.
Though really, Junko’s started from a long time coming. Even in her youth she’s found more fun in scaring people than actually committing to hero work. If nothing else, she was more than happy to skip over the big wig schools that would no doubt judge her and her Quirk for something smaller and more homely. Even her costume is nothing short of handmade, a mismatch collection of items that, when put together, Junko believes is quite scary under the right lightning. Even so, she’s still scrounging up money to buy an actual chainsaw, not the plastic one she has now. She’ll just chalk it off as a “support item”.
Whether she’s on her way to being a hero in disguise, a vigilante in the making, or a new villain is anyone’s guess.
✣ Quirk: Junko’s Quirk is named Fear Monger. A Transformation type Quirk, Fear Monger converts the fear pheromones from the people around Junko into physical power for herself. In apt terms, the scarier she’s perceived, the greater her physical capabilities are increased. Strength, speed, and durability; Fear Monger creates a spike in all these capabilities by feeding pure adrenaline into Junko’s brain and body via fear pheromones in the air. However, the longest lasting time for this effect seems to be four minutes before Junko’s body needs time to rest.
✣ Other: Perhaps to no one’s surprise, Junko likes horror flicks. Granted, she’ll still shriek and scream-about the most noise you’ll get out of her-at the average poorly framed jump scare, but that doesn’t do much to deter from her enjoyment of them. She has a bad hobby of looking up new ways to scare people as well as researching all the different effects of fear on the human brain. She has an even worse habit of encouraging pranks on people and isn’t below participating in them herself for some fun. Her birthday is also on Halloween, as if the cosmos themselves deemed her existence ironic.
