Taraah - Denied attention in front of TOM

"Aaaaaw! What you'd done that for?" Taraah almost bawled, "The little guy was clearly excited to see me, the first person to do so in this town! Did I fail to mention I love being adored, pampered and worshipped if you like?" she shook her head, wisps of flame starting to cover her sclaes, until once more they vanished and Margaret stood on the street again. She walked over to Thaddeus' back, reached out into her satchel and pulled out a vial with unidentifiable substance. She uncorked it and waved it under Thomas' nose, making the boy gasp loudly and open his eyes.

She walked a few steps over, looking at Thadeus: "Do you know whom it belonged to? If not, I would like to examine it. I'll return the sword undamaged, just a magical resonance test." she asked as politely as she was able given the item to be examined. "But if you are a friend of dragonkin, you have nothing to worry about where I am concerned. Unlike a certain night elf." she shot an annoyed glance towards the Inn. "You spoke of my kind as your family. I would like to hear that story, if you are willing to share some time."

Calleida Fynwynlynn

Outside The Other Mine

Calleida was not particularly keen on people bossing her around, but this time she was more than happy to obey Thaddeus' order to back away. The wide-eyed harrier flapped her wings and took off into the air behind the group. She circled around to maintain a relatively safe distance (as in, maybe the dragon would have to actually move in order to toast her) but remained close enough to... what? Give a dragon paper cuts with her talons while she chomped her friend's head off? Along with alarm at the suddenly tense situation and remarks made, a feeling of embarrassment started to well up. Here Calleida was, feeling all cool and badass today, but even then she might as well be a canary compared to these dragons and sword fighters and even the library wizard.

Just as the tension seemed to die down a bit, yet another person screamed and tried to rush the dragon. Calleida cringed as Thaddeus 'solved' that problem. But the interaction did get her thinking. How many times did a good dragon have to deal with that every day? Calleida herself had occasionally been the subject of screams and drawn weapons from unknowing passers-by. It was quite disruptive to both your activities and your thoughts.

When the dragon transformed into a human and spoke in a calmer tone, Calleida felt a bit braver, though that murderous glare still hung fresh in her mind. The bird gulped and circled closer.

"Miss dragon?" Calleida began, her friendly tone a little more forced than usual. "Uh... sorry I called you slain. I know there are some good dragons. It's just, well, if you're small like I tend to be... you can't really afford to make that guess right off the bat."

The harrier swooped down and landed a few meters away.

"I'm a hawk now. If you're really trying to get along with people, I could fly around and tell everyone there's a dragon but don't try to kill her. Maybe it would be better to learn from me than for every single person to be shocked when they meet you?"

Calleida's feathers ruffled with anxiety. She still wasn't sure what was the right thing to do here. What if she told everyone the dragon was safe, only to be blindsided when the attack came? But what if she really was a good dragon, but anyone could snap after so many screams and slaying attempts in one day?

"Hey where did the dragon go? I could have swore there was a dragon here, Malvo? What happened?" Thaddeus could hear Thomas going off about dragons as Malvo disappeared with him, thankfully Pyrona had transformed into a human form before waking him up, than again she was lucky he didn't slash her for getting that close to Thomas but he really did not believe she meant anyone else harm except for him of course. "Trust me, its better if you don't encourage him, given the chance he would bug you until the end of time and than some Pyrona." Thaddeus's demeanor finally softened a bit as he loosened his grip on the sword but still kept the hilt in hand in a more casual way. "Yes.. I knew the dragon an no you can't handle my sword, at least not now. I don't trust you enough for that. Perhaps, we can come to trust each other, but I warn you, questioning my loyalty to dragonkin is one way to make me spite you. Lets find Guan first without harming anyone or each other than perhaps we can talk more if you insist." Thaddeus spoke bluntly as he drew his attention to Calleida. "That would be a fine gesture Calleida, the more people who know the better. Don't worry, she won't hurt anyone, she would have done it by now if that was to be the case." Thaddeus spoke confidentally but time would tell as he drew his attention to the others. "Sorry about that, me and Pyrona had a bit of a mishap! We should getting moving, the day is wasting you all!" For all intensive purposes Thaddeus was back to his usual care free self as he smiled and waved at them to show everything was all right. But he had a lot of explaining to do later considering everything that just happened.

Shina was elbow deep in one of her trunks, getting her blades and her favourite weapon of choice, her bow. She grabbed an empty satchel and filled it with some rolls, apples and filled up her waterskin to add to the rations. 'OK is that everything?...probably? Ugh am I being rash here, is it really necessary to bring all these people with me on a journey I don't even know myself how long it will take? But Guan would come for me...I know he would. Right Lapoo? Lapoo just circled and squeaked cheerfully, Shina wished she could have the care-free nature of her squirrel. That soon stopped though when Lapoo came to the door and let out a couple of nervous squeaks.

'Ugh, what is it NOW!?

Shina grabbed her gear and locked the workshop door. She saw from across her that the once calm Thaddeus had become quite a different person. She rarely saw Thaddeus loose his cool but when he did....she knew she had to get in this quickly! She ran over, satchel and weapons dropped at the tree and walked over to Thaddeus and the dragon...

'Ok ok let's calm down. Thaddeus this isn't like you to get so riled up, I don't know how you came across your hilt but we need to put this all aside, for now. She stepped close to Thaddeus and touched him gently on the arm 'We need to find Guan remember? I can't do that if one of my closest allies is turned to ash;

Suddenly she heard the familiar voice of Thomas, who had obviously also spotted the dragon. But before Shina could call out to him Thaddeus had already knocked his son cold. 'Woah! Careful Thaddeus, he IS your son afterall!' Shina knew he was looking out for his son's safety, still, she felt sorry for the poor boy.

One of Thaddeus' crew, she couldn't remember the name, had also joined the scene. He looked as dumbfounded as the boy when eyeing the dragon. Shina felt a little better that she wasn't the only one who felt nervous around these magical beasts.

Turning back to Thaddeus, Shina wanted to just get this journey started, before people were killing each other!

'Right, well I think we better get going, we want to make good headway before dark. Thaddeus, can we use one of your wagons to make the trip?' She look to the dragon... 'Umm...will you be staying as your true form or as a human? Just so I know if we'll have enough room. I mean if you would prefer to fly above us that would give us an advantage, however, you might also attract unwanted attention.'

Yoshina, still wearing her maid outfit. Decided that the urgency of the situation warranted that she don't change and quickly convened with the group. I guess I'll have to be a combat maid then Yoshina thought. It's not the weirdest thing I have ever done, but I certainly won't be telling this to my brother or my retinue when I return to Sangaku. She was further relieved when Minnow quickly issued her approval for the quest, that's one hurdle overcame. Now, comes the really, really interesting part.

The description of the person in question. And when Shina described him, a quick mental image of a grizzled old soldier popped into her mind, she's sure that this is the closest she can get to picturing the guy without actually meeting him. This is important if she was to not kill him accidentally, combat can become pretty messy. "Well, I have no other questions regarding him, I'll just wait until you give the signal and we can depart immediately."

And then, as usual, the dragon and the privateer got into a commotion, Yoshina decided that she has expended more than enough energy dealing conflicts between the dragon and literally anyone, and stood silent, silently watching as the commotion goes by, with Shina returning and having brought up all her gear. Yoshina quickly went into the tavern, grabbed her Naginata, and went back into the group. "So I do have a horse bringing my belongings, how long will the journey into this person's last known location be? I have provisions that can last for weeks should this adventure be long enough."

The wizard gave the town's local smith an appreciative nod as she offered him a seat but opted to keep his distance away from the dragoness while they discussed the search and rescue of Shina's friend. Even in after knowing she held no ill will toward the town, he still felt extremely uneasy around her and opted to keep his disposition guarded and ready to act. A peculiar shapeshifter made herself known to the sailor who frequented the cozy little town when he had the chance. Things went south rather abruptly then and there. Taarah looked like she was a moment's notice from torching the inn after hearing the sailor's mention of fighting a dragon before. A breath got caught in his throat. Rudolph's senses heightened in a split second of the event. Any moment now, the fight between the mesmer sailor and the dragon would break out. Knots formed in his stomach as he felt as if he was back in the ancient ruins of Mul-Tohdir. Never again.

He needed to get out of the immediate location as soon as he possibly could...but what of the others? He couldn't allow the events of Mul-Tohdir to occur again. All his friends gone in an instant. He couldn't possibly reach the others in time before it was too late. They were too close to the dragon and the mesmer. He could only hope that they had the sense to leap out of the nearest window and run as fast and as far as they could. Though Minnow would prove to be a problem as TOM was one of her prides and joys and she wouldn't let Thaddeus fight the dragon alone while she still had broom handle at hand. He'll just have to apologize to Minnow on a later day. If she doesn't decide to kill him that is. Firmly grasping her by the shoulders and focusing his magics to his arms, he casts a spell to greatly enhance his physical abilities. "Sorry, Minnow." He said with an apologetic smile on his face before tossing the elf woman out of the window he came from as gently as he could...and straight into the decorative boxwood shrubbery outside.

Not long after he too leapt out of TOM and ran as fast as his physically enhanced body could all the way back to his tower to prepare for the fallout of the rumble between the dragon and the mesmer sailor...and maybe also keep away from a likely furious night elf armed with a broom handle.

Taraah - In front of TOM

Margaret raised her arm, offering it to the Hawk to perch on. "I thank you for your offer, although I worry that it may more likely result in a mob with pitchfork and torches chasing down on me. I think I will stay disguised for now, and let my actions show the people who I am. If some of them then decide to attack me after all, well, that is their folly." she shrugged, "I would rather go for a relaxing flight, sky-sister. You must know of a good hunting ground around." Taraah moaned. She still only had the mystery soup and foul eggs to eat. Hopefully a large deer or small bear will not pay attention while they are searching for Guan.

The dragoness nodded at Thaddeus. "Well, if he did, you shown me how to turn him off." she grinned, "And I would like to hear more very much. After we return then, prefferably over a roast and spirit." she nodded.

Shiina came back making a ruckus and trying to keep everyone from killing each other over misunderstandings and prejudices. When the question of her shapeshifting came up, Taraah had to pause to think before answering: "While rpesent company may be used to my true form by now, any strangers we meet would cause issues. Worry not about me though, I have means of keeping up with a horse." she said finally.

Just as she did so, the night elf came crashing out of a window of her establishment, before the wizard that proclaimed to also help them bolted faster than Taraah could summon a fire circle to prevent him form fleeing. "Ugh! We should swing by that coward's tower and hold him to his promise!" She growled furiously.

Gunner was glad his hangover had lessened slightly by the time he made it to the town's outskirts. It did not take him long to get to town from his cabin. Gunner figured the apothecary may be open at this time and started to make his way there. The skald mused what to do with the lizard trinkets he picked up from his latest job. Or in reality who could Gunner sell it to that will ask the least amount of questions about their origins.

'Roa would pay for the trinkets. But she pays the cost of the material itself. The other would be that wizard Rudolph. But I don’t know which is magi-.’

The skalds musing was cut off when someone slammed into him. Caught off guard he was sent tumbling to the street. Gunner was able to catch the sight of the running form of Rudolph. Whatever plans the skald had were put on hold as he chased after the fleeing wizard.

The wind whistled past his ears and the buildings and people became blurs to him as the magically enhanced wizard beelined through the streets. "Run! Get to safety! Dragonfire inbound!" The wizard bellowed as he ran. Warning any those who could hear his voice. He'd hope that he would manage to reach his home in time and gather the necessary equipment and potions he needed in dealing with the aftermath of a fight with a dragon. His mind raced as he created a mental image of every floor of his tower and began planning out the most optimized route to collect the items and run back to town in time to mitigate the damage he projected the battle between the sailor and the dragoness would cause.

It so deep in thought that he failed to realize that he basically broadsided the old skald when he neared the outskirts of Lorenstad. He would have immediately stopped and apologized to him while explaining the whole situation but, sadly, the half-elf was too immersed in his plan that he crashed into a lamp post being tended by the town's Noctaeid lamplighter. The impact was sudden and the stop, painful. If his blunder into TOM's broom closet wouldn't leave his body black and blue by the next dawn, the collision between his body and solid pine lamp post surely will. A most likely prediction as the lamp post had been slightly uprooted from its original position. Had he crashed into the wooden structure without the layers of muscle to dampen the impact, he would have surely fractured a number of his ribs.

While he gasped and heaved for breath painfully on the ground, his mind became more and more muddled by pain. To the point that he lost concentration on his earlier body enhancing spell and returned to his more modest body size. He tried to will himself to stand back up and keep going...but his body ultimately won as a simple act of breathing was currently a herculean task to perform. He can only pray to the Makers that he'd still make it in time before the town became too ravaged from the fighting between the Mesmer and the Dragoness he imagined.

Shina saw the dragon lady talking to ...a hawk? She thought that might just be Calledia. After all, she knew of the shapeshifter when word had spread from Oryxtheos of him finding this rare creature, years ago. She quite liked the satyr, he reminded her of Guan in a way, he had loved the travelling life and he seemed a different person once he settled in Lorenstead.

She was about to greet her when she swore she saw the flash of the old sorcerer running for his tower, he must have put a spell on himself, she'd never seen him run so fast! 'This isn't going to end well is it?' Shina thought. Sigh, she just wanted to get going!

She turned to see the princess standing there, looking as frustrated as her right now. 'Oh i am sorry princess, I didn't see you there, we are looking to get going very soon. We are going to use a couple of Thaddeus' wagons but you are able to bring your horse. I was thinking I would take mine as well, so that we have room in the wagons in case we need to ...hide anyone' Shina shrugged in the direction of the dragon and gave a weak smile.

Shina gave a short, sharp whistle and heard the sounds of hooves coming from behind the workshop, along with Lapoo flying towards her. The chesnut mare came up to Shina and she nuzzled her nose, 'Hi Renn, are you ready for an adventure? Oh and of course you too Lapoo' The squirrel landed on her shoulder and gave a happy squeak.

Shina turned to everyone 'OK, I think we're ready to go. The wagons should have enough rations and if people have their own then we will store it out of sight. I will lead on Renn here and the rest of you can share the wagon space. I am afraid I don't have much to go on, but the last time Guan and I went out, we visited a tavern in the south, about 10 miles from Lorenstead. If we go there first, someone might have seen him again. As Shina spoke, she didn't even have faith in her own words. What if they hadn't seen him, where would they go next?

Shina tied her ration bag to the saddle and kept just her bow on her back. She leapt onto Renn and felt instantly at ease on the warm body of the mare, this was where she felt the most herself.

Yoshina smiled at the Firetail's response. "Great! I'll be sure to bring my horse then, I'm sure everyone will like what dried fish and rice crackers will taste like." She finished, quickly running towards her horse and untying him from the tree. "Daijobu daijobu." She comforted the stallion. Seemingly agitated at his master's new appearance. "We're just going to be going on a short adventure okay? Nothing out of the ordinary, you've carried me throughout battles before, this will just be a walk in the park."

Some stroking of the horse's mane and carresses later, and Yoshina was already on top of the horse, her covered Naginata on her back and nodded at Shina's instructions. "10 miles south, sooo roughly 3 Ri or less..." She mumbled. "Should be doable in a brisk walk, especially for a force this small. Let's go then!"

Yoshina feels excited. This is probably the first time she's ever gone on adventure in this westerly place, everyone can feel her excitement as she paces the fastest out of the group, constantly motioning everyone to keep up with her as her enthusiasm visibly made her faster in her journey. Yoshina also kept her Naginata under her cloth wrapping, making sure no one sees what her polearm looks like, she didn't mention anything, but one can feel a visible aura of unease just thinking about asking her about her weapon. Still, one soul might or might not be brave enough to ask the Sangakuan Princess about her weapon.

Calleida Fynwynlynn

Outside The Other Mine --> Inside The Other Mine

"Oh! You're going on a quest? Can I come? Can I??"

Calleida ignored Margaret's outstretched arm for the time being, instead choosing to perch on the cart. The bird hopped and her eyes shone with a daring gleam for a few seconds. A search quest, it sounded like. A bird of prey could do something useful, something adventurous here!

Then Calleida furrowed her prominent brows in a bird-frown and looked up. Based on the sun's position in the nearly cloudless sky, it appeared to be between nine and ten o'clock in the morning. Hmm. Maybe starting a fresh new adventure now would be cutting it a liiiittle itty bit close. It looked like they were in a hurry to get started, anyway, and gathering all the logistics of Calleida's existence would take up a fair amount of time and effort.

"Ah, never mind," the harrier huffed, her feathers fluffing up in a pout. "Good luck on your adventure though. And hit me up next time you got a shorter quest, ya hear?"

The hawk took off into the air again.

"And welcome to Lorenstad, Pyrona. Maid."

With a final nod toward the new faces, Calleida flew low to the ground, her next destination nearby. She alighted on the windowsill in The Other Mind. The hawk glanced around at her surroundings, searching for whatever hired hand would be manning the tavern at this early hour. She was surprised to see Minnow herself, awake and... picking herself up off the ground outside? What happened here?

Whatever it was, the elf looked kinda cranky about it. Hmm. Well, the news Calleida had to deliver was good, so maybe it would brighten Minnow's mood a little!

"Hiya, it's Calleida," the bird addressed Minnow. "I've come to inform you that the mystery herb my dad has been growing has a minty buttery sort of taste. It is quite edible for satyrs, chickens, and a handful of other species, though it might be better to keep it away from canids. It should be fully mature for harvest in a week, and you and dad can meet to arrange the price."

Calleida preened her feathers for a few seconds.

"Now that I'm here, are there any messages you'd like to send? Or rats you'd like caught? For a small fee, of course."

If Minnow had no work for her, Calleida considered visiting Mayor Burgermeister next. She still wasn't sure whether she should inform the townsfolk about a good dragon. Her friend said it was a good idea, but the person most involved turned it down. Maybe the mayor would know what to do.

Gunner did not expect to be chasing a wizard through the streets of Lorenstad when he woke up this morning. However here he is chasing the local wizard now babbling something about dragonfire like a loon. The skald figured the wizard had finally lost his mind after spending too long with his head buried in his books. Although Gunner wondered how Rudolph could be so swift like a deer. That could wait Gunner knew he best caught Rudolph before he did something to get himself or any of the townspeople injured.

The skald watched as the wizard crashed into one of the pine lamp posts. Rudolph's sudden stop allowed the skald to catch up to the wizard. Once he got up to the wizard Gunner simply grabbed Rudolph by his robes and hosted him up.

"By all the iron of Gorum you're going to cause a panic with all that screaming of yours! The skald gave a not so gentle shake to the wizard before dropping the wizard back on the ground.

"Now take a deep breath and tell me why in the seven hells are you running like a mad man screaming about dragons?" Gunner could feel his headaches returning.

The half-elf was thankful that the skald was considerate enough to not grab him by the body. Being hoisted up by his clothes still hurt a little, but far less than being directly held up. The sense of thankfulness was brief as the skald proceeded to yell and shake him before abruptly dropping him on the ground making the pain double in intensity. He'd be a little upset for the rough treatment if not for the pain. It took longer than a brief few moments, but the wizard finally managed to regain his ability to breathe without pain. It was still mildly difficult to do so, but at least he did not have to wince at each draw of breath.

He pointed further into the town; to the general direction of TOM and answered the elderly skald why he was acting so strangely."A dragon in Lorenstad...was supposedly friendly until Thaddeus...mentioned fighting dragons...I escaped to gather supplies...and equipment for the aftermath..." The grounded wizard said in between wheezes. Had the skald not believed his words, he could have verified the presence of a dragon himself by heading to The Other Mine. Rudolph, on the other hand, was fine with laying on the side of the road near the lamp post until he recuperated enough of his strength to stand and continue his way to his home.

What in a dragons leather hide was going on in Lorenstad today? Thaddeus was accustomed to exoctic people, most of his crew were exactly like he was if not more in some cases. But the blur of things that seemed to happen between his first meeting at the smithy with Pyrona all the way to this point with the old man running off in a panic screaming about dragons was out there even for him. At least in a funny sort of way anyways, he couldn't help but chuckle as he covered his mouth, he didn't know much about the old wizard but he knew this wasn't the first time he had speed off on a tangent for one reason or another. The Mesmer could hardly blame the old man this time, when a dragon gets pissed and assumes the poistion to attack you secretly hope like hell that your not the one who is being pointed or in the path. Thaddeus had an exotic childish personality but when a dragon is staring you down you would be a fool if you didn't have a chill strike your body right down to you spinal cord. Still... the whole running and screaming dragons was a bit over the top even for the situation, he liked to believe he had the situation well in hand, at least the best one could. "Sure.. I have a house on the outside of town so it would be a lot more quiet there." Thaddeus would just agree to the dragons wishes for now, considering Thomas was now in town he was a lot more weary than he was minutes ago. The truth was... ever since he touched Pyrona back at the smithy it was like a flood gate had opened in his mind of memories from over two hundred years ago. It was... odd and made him feel uncomfortable because he had no idea why it was happening, he didn't like things he couldn't control at least to some degree. Anyways.. there was no use in living in the past right now, it was time to get this expedition underway. Thaddeus would approach one of the carts that was being pulled by one of his large cockatrice and hopped into it. Shina had motioned for them to get underway.

"Let us have luck on our journey friends! Lead the way Mi'lady."

Roa

@eemmtt@Searat

Even from the docks, Roa could hear someone yelling in a panic. Definitely not a festival today then. she thought with a worried frown. It was only one voice amidst the silence which was still incredibly concerning. Usually there would be more activity this late in the morning. With a kick she pushed herself towards her boathouse-turned-workshop, slipping under the water to surface inside. She quickly made her way up the steps, flicking open the wardrobe in the corner of the singular room. Quickly changing into her town clothes, she couldn't help from muttering in agitation as she struggled to get it to fit properly without a strap of fabric resting on her gills.

glancing around to make sure everything that mattered was safely locked away, she unlocked her workshop's door and walked out into the sunlight. The surface always seemed to be just slightly too hot, or too dry, and today was no exception. quickly making her way across the dock and onto dry land, Roa kept her pace and quickly detoured from the road to the town square as she looked for the source of the yelling earlier. zig-zagging between several homes and shops, she finally came upon a duo of townsfolk, one standing over another sprawled out by a street lamp. She sighed quietly. That didn't sound like Gunner carousing earlier, but you never know. Then she overheard their conversation. Stepping out around the corner she cautiously approached the two.

"What this about dragons in Lorenstad? Mr. Admoss, right? Gunner didn't hasn't done anything to you, has he?" Roa gave a sour side-glance to Gunner. Am I still mad about that silver anklet with the inlaid ruby? She could feel her pulse quicken as the memory of that ordeal came back. Oh yeah, definitely still mad. She offered a hand to Rudolph.

Shina took a final look at the group, this was going to be an interesting journey if nothing else, she thought! Taking the lead with Renn, she started a slow walk to the south. As the wagon started creaking back into motion, she was filled with a sense of excitement. It had been so long since she had been out on a mission with Guan and whilst she did love being at the workshop, it was more a task she did on behalf of her foster father. The sun was shining but there was a wind sweeping through the trees that gave her an edge.

Shina took a map out of her satchel, she had a look at the direction that would lead them to the Inn. It wasn't very far at all, yet she was always cautious of bandit groups that tended to stick to the main roads, picking off unsuspecting travellers; of course, she thought they wouldn't touch this group, considering the amount of people and the way they looked! It was almost like a theatrical troupe!

Lapoo flew in circles over Shina's head. She was certain her little friend was having a great time as well, the wind had picked up somewhat and it allowed Lapoo to get some height with minimal effort.

She turned behind her to see the princess, still dressed in her maid outfit, what an odd sight! 'So....princess, um, have you been on many journeys like this before? I must thank you again for joining us, we are not used to royals visiting our little town.'

"Not at all...just jostled a little..." The half-elf wizard said as he gratefully took the Merfolk's hand as she assisted him up from the ground. He'd recognized her as the town's resident merfolk and jeweler. A peculiar one she was. Locating herself so far away from her people. But the fate of Lorenstad was at hand and he had to see how much damage had been wrought between the battle between Mesmer and Dragon. But as soon as he stood himself properly, he looked back to the town to see it's state now that he was sure that Thaddeus and the dragon had begun fighting...only to discover that Lorenstad was still miraculously serene and in one piece. The birds still chirped their merry tunes and the wind carried no acrid smell nor black smoke of dragonfire. Had he been wrong about the fight? That would mean that he'd caused an unnecessary ruckus on a misinterpretation.

"Oh dear..."

He threw Minnow out of a window for nothing.

Luckily enough he saw the wagon Shina and the rest were going and, Maker's mercy, no sign of a certain Night Elf innkeeper...yet. There was no time left to return to his home to get equipment and supplies. He had to make a decision now. Go catch up with Shina's wagon to go on a little adventure or stay and risk facing Minnow? Rudolph inhaled deeply and willed away the lingering pains of his accidental self-inflicted injuries. He had made his decision. He'd need to distance himself from Lorenstad for a while and no opportunity presented itself better than Shina's quest. "I would love to talk some more, but my prior commitment to our resident blacksmith requires me to follow-through with what I said I would do. I do promise answers if you still need them when we return." The wizard then re-casted his spell to enhance his physical ability. His body returned to it's unnaturally sized state and bolted...again.

Soon he would regroup with the others and before anyone could say a word, Rudolph apologized for his brash actions and misinterpretations. Swearing to be more open minded and less impulsive, that is if they were still willing to have him help on this quest.

Gunner listens to the wizards ranting about Thaddeus about to fight a dragon leading to him running like a madman throughout town. He made a mental note to ask Thaddeus about it. Maybe they could swap stories again. The questions he did have were pushed to the side when they were joined by Roa the Merfolk jeweler. The skald missed the sour look he received as he answered her.

"I have done nothing to the bookworm. He was not watching were he was going."

Gunner watched Rudolph's go through several emotions in a brief moment. First came relief as the wizard saw that the town was not being burned to the ground. Then it shifted into dread then into panic once again. Gunner was going to try to calm Rudolph before he could cause a panic. Only to see him bulk up unnaturally scampering off with a half hearted excuse. As he disappeared out of sight Gunner had to ask out loud.

"What in the seven hells were that all about?"

Yoshina pondered at the Firetail's question. A bit perplexed. "Well, I'm not sure. I think the closest think I've been to an adventurer's journey was during our southern expedition. That's the closest I've been to doing something like this. It is a unique military campaign to say the least of it. So many stuff I had to do with my party, so many nonsense, and I love every second of it."

The Princess in the maid uniform looks like she was stuck in a dream remembering that campaign. It is the closest thing she managed to get to experiencing the stories of great adventurers of ages past. The challenges she has to face with the multiple tribal leaders and Daimyos with competing interests, the near death experience that was the battle of the Palm Islands, and of course, the sweet victory at the very end. "Let's just say that I learned a lot of things about myself during those six months. Like how I absolutely don't like the saltiness of the ocean."

"But, now that I think about it. I don't think i've been on adventures like these before frequently. Marching with an army is half being an administrator and half being a warrior. It's more of a dedicated job position than being some adventurer and touring the many sites of the land."

"Oh, right! Shina, how close are we to the last location the guy we're looking for vanished? I'm kinda twitching to get my hands dirty. Haven't used my Naginata for a close while since I've reached this country." She asked the Firetail, surely she must've known how close the group is. Yoshina reasoned, a bit naively, but nonetheless hoping for the best.
