Aureia, of gold, commerce, wealth,
and the far less important, trivial aspects of travel and luck

The door at the top of the staircase was a very sturdy looking barrier. The fact that it had been dented meant that whatever the mortals were using to try and breach it was a very powerful weapon, indeed. More intriguing, though, was the way the doors slid open as she approached it, but even that became of little interest compared to what the open door revealed.

Like the mortals before her, Aureia had to take a pause to take in the enormity of the scene in front of her. Her eyes narrowed as she observed the blood and gore, the number of dead and living, and their equipment. It seemed, even ten thousand years later, there would always be armor and swords, however unusual. The strange tube-like devices in their hands were another thing entirely, though. They had been shooting volleys at the door—where were the siege engines that could do damage to such a strong door? It was entirely possible that what they wielded were strange staves, and they had been firing volleys of spells at the door, though if that were the case, then she must be very weak indeed, if she couldn’t detect the magic.

Her eyes drifted to the carnage on the ground. A lopsided battle and a heroic stand had occurred here. In the past, the knowledge of such parties would have been trivial to her, but here, she only had her eyes to work with—who are these two parties of mortals, and more importantly, which group was affiliated with the priestess or had otherwise summoned the gods? By color palette alone, she had to assume the white-clad priestess was more likely to be familiar with the fallen knight than the crimson-armored soldiers.

As the patron of commerce, though, she knew better than to assume, and instead contented herself for the moment to observe the exchange between the commander and his subordinate, finding it amusing.

She took the time to pick her own brain on how she’d introduce herself, vocalizing her thoughts at the same time. “Hmm… what should I say? It’s been ten thousand years. Maybe something quick, since there’s so many people. Maybe ‘Hello, mortal’? But that’s so uninspired,” she muttered, before realizing she was being addressed, and rudely, at that. “Oh. Ahem. Greetings, mortal. Oh. Oh my, oh dear. You mortals can’t be serious. You wouldn’t mind repeating that again, would you?” Fake friendliness filled the tone of her voice as she processed the gall of the man’s statement. She’d give him the benefit of the doubt, it was ten thousand years and all, maybe it was some strange slang, because she was pretty sure the man had just tried to order around the divine under the authority of some mortal pretty boy. A pretty bad first impression, all things considered. Surely they weren’t…?

Oh, they were doubling down. Aureia had been in a good mood from being reawakened, but threatening her and insulting a fellow goddess –one that she respected-- in such an impudent way was a very effective way to ruin that.

“I am Aureia, goddess of wealth and commerce. And travel and luck, but that is far less important. That ‘beastkin’ you see there is the Goddess of Hunting and Judgment. By what insolence do you and your ‘holy’ emperor presume to make a mockery of the divine and order us around?” She shifted her umbrella forwards, pointing it directly at the face of the red armored commander. It had taken on a dangerous appearance; the tip had morphed into a golden spike, and a single spoke along the edge had transformed into a long, thin razor along the length of the umbrella.

She gave them a polite smile. Still riding some of her good mood, she gave them one last chance. She doubted the rest of her fellow gods would be as forgiving and wait for their response, but whatever.

“How about I offer a counter proposal? Surrender and submit to our judgment, or die.”

Hexagonal Chamber - O'Menus

The scene before him was of a different kind than he was use to. The viscera, strewn about organs and splattering of blood, the desperate death-prone bodies; most gripping or squeezing onto their last vestiges of mortality was typically ashes where he dispensed his ordinance. A particularly damaged warrior, filled with puncture holes and stabbed by swords, held his cold gaze the longest. 'Useless specks, even killing is a messy deed for them... Though that weapon looks valuable.'

He fixed his eyes onto the stupidest of the armored-mortals, the one so idiotically bold or misled that he presumed to speak to Gods of divinity. That roused the core of his being, the heat that permeated his entirety, to attention. For a moment, he could remember what his original strength felt like, it allowed him to pull the vestiges together. To rally his now meager strength to its fullness.

The sudden roar, or rather the luminance and birth of his flames pushed, Aureia's proposal into a death-sentence. The harsh light bloomed over the darkness for just a moment. The mortals didn't deserve his emotions; the scene that laid before him, before all the Gods, had decided they were ready to die. Apathetically, he considered them, wary of their tubular weapons. The flames that spewed from him gathered around his right forearm, a barren kite shield of hard-fire forming into existence.

"There will be no surrender. They have threatened Gods... their fates will be death," he spoke aloud. He hoisted together all his Godly might and sprinted into action. Forming the shield, coupled with his show of strength was draining. He needed a weapon so he snatched the white blade from the dead warrior nearby and rushed towards the army. He assumed those puncture holes were made from those tubular sticks they were aiming at them. He covered his torso with the shield and ran straight for the horned-headed mortal, sword held at his side, ready for an exterminating decapitation.

Alasayana
The hunt begins again

As she ascended the stairs, the Huntress began pondering the ways she should be greeting the mortals. She didn't wish to scare them, or hurt them - more than once her prodigious strength caused some accidents when she wasn't paying attention. But she was a Goddess, she couldn't casually simply go around saying hello to mortals. There was a proper procedure to these things...hm, loud but friendly introduction? Make them give her an offering of fruit? Maybe ask one to take care of her divine tails. They probably haven't been properly maintained in so long. She could already hear them complaining. Or maybe she should thank them for waking her-

Perhaps she had been too optimistic.

The chamber they exited from held little interest to her. Its construction was curious, to be sure, but she doubted she'd glean anything from it all things considered. So she would step into the welcoming outside air, gazing over the stony expanse, a far cry from the warm sands and colorful jungles she was used too. The forest far below seemed welcoming, but alas - it seemed she may need to perform her duties as a hunter of evil before she could immerse herself in the luxuries of such a welcoming sight.

Two dozen. Maybe a handful of more. Instead of keeping her tails close to her to appear as non-threatening as possible, she'd quickly change her tune the moment the carnage before her became apparent. The four appendages would extend outwards, gazing in all directions as to not let a single human here go unnoticed, not even the dead. A single large humanoid...metal construct? Of some sort lay slain...and near the door to them, was a man. Unmoving, also deceased. It was easy to guess what had happened here.

A protector, slain by these before her.

So, these people were after this priestess, and likely had far less noble intentions.

"I see." Alasayana would inhale. Fury of the righteous sort would begin beating within. "I shall remember your face, warrior, and those stalwart eyes of yours. You did well. Please, rest. I will handle everything else." An exhale as she would offer a small comfort to the already deceased soldiers spirit as she would turn towards the Goddess of Commerce. "Save your breath, Auriea. As much as I loathe to agree with the Sun, I doubt they will listen...and I can not let their apparent transgressions go." With O'Menus taking the golden blade belonging to the warrior, Alasayana would opt for the best weapon she would know how to wield.

"If they wish to become prey for challenging the Gods and our apparent benefactors, then so be it. Lopaley protect the priestess." She would turn her attention to the mob before them. Her tails would writhe behind her, the once passive faces upon them snarling, glaring at the red clad soldiers gathered. She would stand before them as O'Menus would begin his rush to their apparent leader. Even if she could no longer sense evil, hostility, lies and the sort of things that bred and fostered evil...she needn't such senses to determine what those before her were - and as a Goddess, she could not be wrong in her judgements.

"Know this, mortals! I am Alasayana the Goddess of Hunt and she who judges the guilty and consigns their souls to oblivion!" The Goddess would open her eyes, divine fury burning within. "Stand before me and accept your fate, or Flee! It will not matter. Not a single one of you will leave here alive for your sins!" And thus, her judgement had been given.

Guilty.

For the first time in a millennia, the Goddess of the hunt, would do so once more. While O'menus would rush towards the apparent leader, she would rush towards the assembled troops. Black, bestial maws each going for a different soldier as they would rip and tear, drag and slam them against the ground or other soldiers as she would rush into the fray.

Ashte

... was it really okay to let these two make first impressions? Maybe she and Aureia should run ahead of everyone else next time? Not that Ashte had anything against fighting--that would be completely ridiculous--but there was more to winning a war than killing everything that stood in your path. Knowing thy enemy, for instance, which was really not helped if you murdered everyone that even looked at you funny. Right now, she didn't feel like they could take on an entire army either.

Well, the choice was out of her hands and at least this spared her the need to engage in making some overly flower declaration. That was something the white-haired goddess had never been too good at. Pillow talk? Rousing speeches? Those were fine but just... acting pompous on demand with no purpose to it? Where was the fun in that?

It was a fortunate time to discover that her instincts were still working, her second shield forming as one of the red-clad soldiers pointed his tubular stick at her, the projectile embedding into the holy metal with a resounding clang. That was... unpleasantly close, she would have to pay more attention to fighting mortals until her power was back up to spec. And pay attention to this one she did, darting up to this one outside of the rampaging huntress's path, a cheerful smile on her face as her arms snapped into place around his. Twist, and...

Oh, this was an interesting weapon, wasn't it? Ah, if she had enough of them, and faithful soldiers... the tactics that she could pull off with perfect battlefield awareness and a ranged implement such as this. It wouldn't be as fun or exciting as a pitched battlefield but being able to eliminate specific targets in the dead of night...

She slammed the butt off the weapon into the disoriented soldier a few more times, knocking him to the ground. At least that way, they'd have someone to interrogate afterwards. Then, shields ready to intercept if anyone looked in her direction, Ashte scanned the battlefield... ah, that one had an even bigger tube? Best stop him first. One, two... their armour was unsurprisingly resilient to their own weapons, but it seemed multiple shots in the same spot could still go through. If you could do it.

If the weapons had changed this much, how had warfare? Oh, this would be exciting.

Aureia, of gold, commerce, wealth,
and the far less important, trivial aspects of travel and luck

Ah, there it was, the response from the two gods she anticipated. With the obvious displeasure the god of the sun had been nursing going into this engagement, Aureia would have expected no quarter from O’Menus after even the slightest of slights, let alone the blasphemy the arrogant mortal had levied to their faces. The sun god had been grating on her ever since their awakening with his own arrogance, but she wouldn’t interfere with his justifiable bloodlust, especially when the goddess of judgement jumped into the fray and did her thing.

Aureia’s little proposal had always been nothing more but polite theater. “Ahaha… well, the god of the sun and the goddess of judgment have spoken. Offer’s canceled,” she shrugged, as the two gods jumped forward from her flanks. The innocent smile on her face hardened. Not to be left out of the inevitable melee, with some panache, she gave her umbrella-turned-weapon a twirl, shooting forward into the fray. She was just in time to fight alongside Ashte, it seemed.

However, her annoyance flared up when she realized the sun god snatched up the fallen knight’s blade. It was shiny and looked expensive, she wanted that for herself, dammit!

Clicking her tongue, she took out her anger on the nearest soldier. Following the goddess of war’s example, she shielded herself from the projectiles of the future-weapons as they came. Snapping open her parasol, the divine fabric ate up the strange arrows before Aureia snapped it back, slashing with it like a sword to cut into the man. She then moved to accompany Alasayana in her judgment against the remaining peons.

It was never Aureia’s style to directly punish mortals.

After all, war was bad for business.

Yet war was also good for business.

"Oh? So you are blasphemers, too," the man in the horned helmet said, inclining his head to one side as he spoke, "There is no god before the Emperor. Your fate is execu-"

He couldn't finish speaking. He hadn't expected such a swift retaliation, O'Menus's sudden advance taking him entirely off-guard. He barely had time to raise his arms as if to block, a translucent orange shield of light suddenly spreading from his gauntlets and taking the blow of the white sword. But in spite of his defense, the shield seemed to crack almost immediately, and he was sent skidding backwards across the stony ground, staggering when he came to a halt several meters away.

The sheer force of the blow had taken him entirely off-guard, even as he cancelled his barrier.

"Damnation! Open fi-" He cut himself off in shock as he watched several soldiers suddenly snapped up on the maws of judgement, crushed even in spite of their crimson armor, Aureia's umbrella cleaving cleanly through the front of the nearest soldier's armor with a spurt of blood.

"They're mages?!" he cried, in shock, "The Klois Knights even sent mages?! Kill them! Kill them all! But don't kill the priestess! We need her alive!"

He drew his sword, the blade thrumming with red light as he did, the remaining soldiers backing up into a tighter formation and swiftly raising their weapons. The ones at the front of the formation knelt, their tube-like weapons cracking as they unleashed extremely fast projectiles.

Indeed, the barriers created by the gods would prove effective against their weapons.

But the soldiers wielding the larger tubes raised them, and unleashed arcing, larger projectiles that hurtled through the air with a whistling sound.

On impact, they would release a small, but violent explosion.

O'Menus

Disgust resonated deeply inside of O'Menus. Throughout the Horned-Mortal's declaration and fearful barking, he was twisting the white blade in hand. The reflection of his scowl a very unwelcomed reminder of the new emotions and realizations blooming inside. He had finally grasped, fully understood, how low he had fallen. That blow should had cleaved head from body, no matter the defenses the human could muster. But it had not. It had simply sent the man rag-dolling. 'Rag-dolling?!' he thought in cold disbelief. 'This world's logic is twisted beyond correction. My next blow will kill him.'

The Horned-Mortal's crimson blade brought O'Menus's sharp gaze to focus. It was a banner of sorts, bringing the remaining soldiers to him, tightening their ranks and boosting their motley morale. Faced with several of those tubular weapons refreshed the image of the sword's original wielder to mind. He raised his blazing shield to cover his body and with the crackling of what sounded like peaking lightning strikes, O'Menus rushed back into the fray.

Pointed, keen noises pelted off his shield, giving him a flawed idea of what those strange sticks were for. 'Advanced bows of some sort,' he thought, shifting his attention to the larger ones. 'Same shape, more powerful.'

He picked up speed to throw off the initial aim of the large-tube wielding mortals. The explosions behind him did little to deter the God of Fire and Heat; those kind of reactions came with his existence. Paying little mind to the soldiers surrounding the Horned-Mortal, except for the ones immediately standing between himself and his prey, whom were quickly dispatched, O'Menus flourished the white blade in his hand, aiming to separate blade-arm from man, and pulled his white sword back for a divine thrust.

The shattering of the man's construct earlier had proven his strength greater, the Horned-Mortal's near too-late reaction proved his speed. 'Aim for the heart', he growled, gathering strength beyond his ordinary efforts. 'Even if he guards with that detestable mortal-construct, the blade will meet it's target!'

Trineon
Lord of Rivers, Lakes, and Oceans

The god of oceans made his way with his fellow gods up the stairs out of the hexagonal chamber. Trineon kept glancing over at the feverish girl, worried about her condition. Apparently she was a priestess of some kind according to voices he had heard overhead. Trineon could hear the voices still talking as the gods reached a steel door.

The door then opened, revealing a rocky plateau. Trineon was immediately able to sense water off in the distance, but it was not close enough for him to do anything with it. But the nearness of water did not matter as much as the gathering of warriors standing outside the door. The wore strange obsidian and crimson armour, wielding swords and some sort of item Trineon had never seen before. They seemed to be led by a man with a horned helmet.

Besides the living warriors, there were many dead ones. Several crimson warriors laid strewn about, as did some kind of giant metal warrior, and a knight in gold and white armour. Trineon instinctively placed himself in-between the warriors and the so-called priestess.

Trineon soon found himself right to do so as their leader demanded they hand over the priestess on the authority of some so-called Holy Emperor. Trineon clenched his fists as the man ordered the gods to surrender or die. Aureia then responded by introducing herself before ordering the warriors to surrender or die. Before they could answer, O’Menus grabbed a blade and charged at their leader.

Trineon sighed as the battle begun. Alasayana then leaped into battle with her tails, Aureia and Ashte soon joining her. After giving a look at the young priestess and the god of time protecting her, Trineon began to charge toward a group of warriors. However, they raised the tubes they held, a barrage of small bolts coming toward Trineon.

The god of oceans leaped back wards, taking cover behind another god’s shield. He also saw the enemy leader raise a shield of orange light to block O’Menus. At that same second, the enemies with the bigger tubes fired their shot, an explosion rocking the shield in front of Trineon.

“Damn,” Trineon muttered.

It was clear to him that the shield would not hold against whatever this new weapon was, so he would need to take out his attackers fast. While still weakened compared to how he was at death, Trineon knew that he was still faster than any mortal. Proving that fact, Trineon rolled out from behind the shield, grabbing a blade in each hand off of dead crimson warriors. He then rose to his feet, throwing one of the blades directly into the threat of a warrior holding the larger tube. With his remaining blade, Trineon sprinted toward a group of warriors with smaller tubes, the blade ready to gut the nearest one like a fish.

Alasayana
The hunt begins again

For as imposing as they looked, these people were not hunters. They might have looked the part, but skill wise? Incredibly weak! Pathetic, even! The Goddess would slam one of her tails into a nearby soldier, the force knocking a group of them right off their feet as she'd swiftly turn, one of the other tails clamping upon the body of a fool that had sought to get close enough for melee. Lucky he didn't, his end would have been far more brutal.

But still...

"Is this the best you fools can do? You have audacity, I'll give you that but that is all." Perhaps enjoying herself a little was unbecoming of her righteous duties, yet she couldn't deny that well...she was a huntress, after all. And a beast. "You're not hunters - you're prey that merely has-" A few soldiers some distance away would aim at her with those odd wands, a low thunk noise as something was lobbed from them. The huntress barely had moments to shield herself with her tails before they'd explode. What sort of weapons were these? Magic stones that exploded upon impact? Annoying, that they had some paltry tricks up their sleeves but in the end, it'd matter not.

"Hmph." Instead of trying to contest with whatever explosive magic this was, she'd instead avoid. As a second one came sailing in her direction, she would push off the ground with her four tails, which would in turn send her leaping into the air. A stylish, totally necessary acrobatic flip followed as she'd land right behind the one who fired it. A spin, her tails lashing out once more at the soldiers. "I don't know what these things are, but you can't possibly expect me of all Gods to lose to such a cheap trick?" Ideally she'd finish this quickly so she could focus on helping the priestess and maybe gleaning some answers from her.

Ah, her poor tail had gotten signed. Tsk.

Aureia, of gold, commerce, wealth,
and the far less important, trivial aspects of travel and luck

The gods had been weakened, but mortals were still mortals, in spite of whatever new toys they armed themselves with. The judgment of a god was as damning as it had ever been, although these future mortals definitely made them work for it. The projectile weapons were very interesting, and Aureia would have liked to gets her hands on some of them, if only to see how they worked and to piece together how the societies of the mortals had developed over the eons.

That would have to wait for later, though.

Aureia had to admit, with all the bluster from the sun god, she was disappointed he hadn’t already cleaved the offending mortal commander in half. Instead, he lived for a little longer, to spew more trite commands. “I don’t know who these Knights of Klois you speak of are,” she drawled, taking care to not get blood on herself as she speared her umbrella through the chest of a hapless soldier, “but if they’re the enemies of mortals as stupid and arrogant as you, then they can’t be too bad in my books.”

By the time she had finished dealing with a third mortal, she noticed the bulk of the survivors had retreated into the semblance of some type of line formation and raised their tube weapons. It was nothing her umbrella-shield couldn’t handle… until the ground started exploding around her, forcing her to ungracefully dodge, the hems of her robes a bit blackened for her taste.

“Wah! You dare call gods simple mages, but you attack with that sorcery!?” She charged straight at the line, angered by their apparent hypocrisy. As surprising as the attack had been, it meant that they had already shown their weakness. All she had to do was to close the distance, smash directly into their lines and wreak havok, together with Alasayana… and the god of water and other aquatic things.

Well, she’d had stranger allies in the past.

Ashte

It was probably a good thing that everyone was too distracted to look at Ashte's face right now, as her expression was very unbecoming of both a goddess of love and a goddess of war. It was a terrible expression of shock, like the fundamental underpinnings of reality had been ripped away and replaced with something incomprehensible.

How could gods be this stupid?

Here it was, their first taste of conflict after being brought back to the world, their powers obviously diminished, and they were all just... rushing in with brute-force against enemies of unknown ability, even after they formed a defensive position. It didn't matter how much you were individually stronger if you couldn't apply that power in any way!

Not that she could actually explain this or try to organise something coordinated that might actually break it. No, Those bigger tubes were going to be shooting something else and... well, whatever, intercept them with shields angled upwards, it didn't matter what it was if the force of the attack was redirected away from Ashte or anyone nearby. No, this tube could still fire and there was no time to waste.

Shooting at the soldiers near the sun god, for instance. Too aggressive, too overconfident; assuming that barrelling straight in would kill everything and leave nobody to attack his unguarded sides or back. Fortunately, he had the most beautiful of gods to provide covering fire as their opponents--obviously trained, despite the power differential--went to take advantage of this.

The goddess of Time attempts to repair the broken guardian.

The Sound of Battle was not something she enjoyed to hear. That was the type of thinking that was going through her mind as she would think about the fight as it was unfolding. The holy emperor? A concept that wasn't unfamiliar to her. Royalty could easily be misplaced as divine. But this would imply that was a definiative authority of this world. That there was some other authority that they in their weakened state may have to answer to.

She would shift her weight holding the priestess. She had given the goddess of the hunt a simple nod when she had been asked to the protect the girl. She was going to do that anyway. So it was an agreement that was easy to make. Her hands not being free would make wielding a weapon of defence rather difficult. However. Evasion? For a person like her. Running away and avoiding things was quite easy when you moved on a different time-scale. It also helped that they weren't aiming the explosions directly at her. Likely due to the cargo she carried.

However... The most important thing there was a damaged construct.

It appeared that this 'guardian' had attacked the soldiers attempting to attack them. "The Enemy of my Enemy.." The time goddess would say as she'd weave her way while still carrying the priestess on her back. Towards the construct. If one of these *things* could kill several soldiers by itself and it appeared to protect the priestess.

Then the only option was to begin to rewind its clock and to repair its structure. Hoping her fellow gods could distract the men long enough to let her perform this feat.

It would likely be a shock to the god of the Sun when, after managing to force his way through the front line of soldiers defending their learned, the man with a horned helmet swung his blade in an arc and blocked his initial strike with a resounding clash of metal on metal. It certainly wasn't an easy feet, given the way his entire body rocked from the impacted, but this time it appeared he had prepared himself and answered in kind.

The mere fact a mortal could defend themselves in this fashion would perhaps be a clear sign of he position the deities were in right now.

Indeed, of the remaining soldiers, several of them immediately took aim at the engaged Sun God and prepared to open fire. It was Ashte's intervention, the sharp cracking sounds of her stolen weapon immediately sounding the death of one of the soldiers and forcing them to turn to try and defend themselves, that spared him time to press his assault. Indeed, the lives of two soldiers were already claimed by Ashte's fire, and the others were unable to attack O'Menus.

Due to the efforts of Trineon and Alasayana, two of the soldiers with the explosive tubes were dispatched, one impaled with a crimson blade and the other crushed by the Huntress's tail.

Immediately, the nearest soldiers trained their weapons on the Goddess of Justice. While this was a danger to her, the fact that they had been forced to stop focusing on suppressing other attackers meant Aureia had a free window to do more or less whatever she desired.

Their numbers were dwindling, but the fact they were putting up this much of a fight displayed both that they were quite a dedicated force, and that the gods had much power they needed to regain.

The great human-shaped machine was mending under Lopalay's power, steel knitting itself back together steadily. However, even once it had mended, the machine did not move. It appeared it needed something else in order to work, perhaps related to the empty space near the center of its body.

Lopaley - Immediate Realisation, and Gremlin intents.

Never have I been more thankful that this is my power. She'd muse to herself as the machine began to repair. She'd watch it reassert and reconnect itself to its intended places. Like Clockwork that was having its gears inserted. Everything was fitting back into place as the time was rewound upon the object. She would come to realize that it was a lot more complicated then she realized. IT was not some sort of great golem. Rather it appeared to be some sort of Trojan Humanoid.

Buttons were not a concept unfamiliar to her, neither was the presence of switchs. There also appeared to be something akin to a control stick. Like a scepter? She would poke at it. Yes. It appeared it was likely one of the control mechanisms. Even something as complex as this likely had some sort of basic way of getting it up and moving. She might not have weapons.. But a self-repairing juggernaut. Courtesy of her temporal powers.. That might just be enough.

There appeared to be just enough space then for her plan. The Priestess was small enough to fit in. Of course Lopaley made sure that the priestess actually got the lions-share and was in there comfortably. Not having to contort much. Meanwhile Lopaley would have to contort her body a little in the cockpit to reach the controls. She'd likely have some painful cramps after this.

Flipping some switches. Pressing some buttons carefully. Even moving the joystick a little. She'd eventually get a incredibly incredibly basic idea of how to get this thing to stand up and walk...

Then she'd immediately set it to run.

There would be a crazed site of this mechanical humanoid running with limp arms. its Torso swaying to and fro as it would run towards one of the guys and purposely crash into them. "Trojan horse or not. This robot thing is pretty fun!" The Time Goddess would say as she'd tumble a little, She looked like she was piloting a incredibly drunk person. But!

The cockpit was way safer then being out in the open. Considering the observed effort...

O'Menus

O'Menus set aside the deep-seated loathing growing in his breast. In the midst of war there was no room for hesitation, only unrelenting dominance. The clanging of their respective blades reached a sharp peal that seemed to consume all other sounds for him. He realized that the two of them, God and Man, were contending for control. Humans had reached a level of pure astoundment; that even as weakened as the Gods were, the undeniable fact that they were capable of contending against them were praiseworthy. Even still, that fact was an abomination in his eyes. Reaching deep, pass the loathing and arrogance, pass the pride and blazing fire, O'Menus found a shred of strength that allowed him to push even further. And though he had not acknowledged or even grasped this fact, reddish flames were beginning to perch and flow from his skin because of his efforts.

He refused to show the Horned-Mortal his struggles and so he had forbade himself to grip the handle two-handed. With a single firm grasp, he held his white blade steady against the mortal's intentions. A resolute glower piercing the orbs behind the mask. He threw every ounce of power he could muster into rebounding the Horned-Mortal's red blade, pulled back his white sword and went for a divine thrust.

'Aim for the heart. Meet your target!', he growled.

Aureia, of gold, commerce, wealth,
and the far less important, trivial aspects of travel and luck

If her decision to rush the mortals had been questionable, Aureia didn’t stop to recognize it. A large part of that was probably because she was getting away with it, unlike the sun god, who had gotten checked for his arrogance. Despite her earlier assessment of weakness, the fact that the commanding mortal could and had blocked a strike from a god was the best wakeup call that the gods could receive of their own weakness.

That, however, was something to reflect on down the line.

Right now, Aureia and the other gods had to mop up the remaining soldiers, and with all of the mortals distracted with the other gods, the goddess of commerce was in a characteristically lucky position to capitalize on that. With O’menus still dueling the commander with Ashte’s aid, and Trineon and Alasayana decimating the back line of the mortals, Aureia had the free reign to reposition and circle around to slam into flank of the soldiers’ line, but not before quirking an eyebrow at the time goddess’s attempt to restore the human construct… and do whatever it was she was doing with its remains.

She quickly snapped her head back to focus on the mortals, though, sweeping out with a wide arc at their legs with her umbrella to knock them off their feet before slashing out at their unprepared forms. Despite the danger that they had risked in closing the distance, it now meant that the larger bulk of the soldiers were pincered between the goddess of the hunt and the aquatic god in the front, and Aureia at the rear. It was a miniature hammer-and-anvil, and that meant it was time to wreak havoc.

Alasayana
The hunt begins again

Honestly, she'd have thought these humans would have either fled or crumbled by now. For what force backed them that could they withstand both the righteousness of a Goddess and the fury of the Sun? She would give credit where credit was due, at least, but that did not meant she liked it. They indeed, as much as she boasted otherwise, were worthy opponents simply because of how weakened she was. It was...kind of a novel feeling, really. Never once had she felt weakened as so. She couldn't say it was an unpleasant feeling. Was this what it was like to be the prey, just a bit?

"Amusing!" She'd say, unrelenting in her assault still. "Hmph, I rarely have felt so weakened as to consider mortals a challenge. You should consider yourselves proud, that you are allowed to stand even before my weakened form!" Of course such praises were neither here nor there. As amusing as it was, she must still continue with her judgement. A low growl as the group of mortals would train their weapons upon her. It'd be easy enough to shield herself from most damage by the use of her tails, but ah, how annoying. Her poor tails were getting dirtier and dirtier. Should she blame the priestess? Someone would need to groom them and she doubted there were any tail fluffers...nhn, no she should focus on the humans.

The goddess would take a defensive stance, using three of her tails to form a defensive wall between herself and the humans, using one tail to lash out at any that would get within its range and slowly make her way towards them. If she had their attention, then the others could easily make short work of most of them. She'd worry about her tails later. It was more important to resolve this issue quickly.

Trineon
Lord of Rivers, Lakes, and Oceans

The water god sped forward, blade at the ready. In times past he would have been able to close that distance in a half-second, as he had the strength and speed of a rushing river. But now he was diminished, his power missing after the long death. Still he knew he had more power left than the mortal in front of him. So he pushed his legs as hard as he could, calling upon whatever divinity still remained within him. With the speed he moved at, the mortal did not have the time to fully raise its tube weapon at Trineon. The god lunged forward with his acquired blade, piercing the gut of the armoured mortal. Trineon raised the blade up, cutting through muscle and bone. The mortal quickly collapsed into a pool of blood and organs.

“Who’s next?” Trineon laughed.

The inner voice in Trineon’s mind chided him for having such blood lust. It was those kinds of thoughts that had let to his downfall in the time before his death. Trineon’s thoughts were interrupted by the sound of gears whirring. The water god quickly glanced behind him to see the time goddess riding around on some kind of mechanical man, presumably the same one that had been lying in ruins just a minute before now. Trineon smiled as it staggered on its feet, like someone who drank a whole barrel of ale.

Taking inspiration from Lopaley, Trineon decided to try using these new tools of the mortals. Trineon crouched and picked up the tube weapon off the man he had gutted. Placing it in the opposite hand from his blade, Trineon pointed it at the nearest mortal attacker. And it did nothing. Trineon continued to point it, yet nothing happened.

“Attack!” he shouted, “Fire! Blast! Something!”

Frustrated with the weapon, Trineon was about to drop it, but then decided to use it another way. Raising the tube, Trineon charged at the nearest mortal, ready to use it as a club. For a second the voice in Trineon’s head wondered if he was slightly mad from being dead so long, charging into battle head on. But Trineon decided it didn’t matter. He would act now and consider the complications later.

Ashte

Eugh... maybe she should try and treat gods like novice recruits? Just because you were stronger than the enemy, didn't mean you just pounded away at them until they crumpled! Feint a little! Find some weak spot to break through with that power! Well, a win was a win, even if it was a messy one... but they still weren't quite over the hill yet. Two more of those big-tube-men taking aim, and with everyone rushed in close they'd have to take the full force of the blast.

Shoot them? No, this tube was empty of whatever ammunition it relied on, and Ashte didn't have time to go through the man's pockets; nor enough familiarity to replicate it entirely. She guessed it would have to be done the old-fashioned way, then?

The two shields hovering suddenly melted away into an efficient, streamlined shape, little more than flanged, pointy golden poles hovering as if held drawn back in some invisible hand... then launched forwards with shocking force, each skewering one of the two remaining grenade-launcher foes. Not only did the javelins pierce through their chests but they also caught on the flanges and the force of the impact jerked them backwards, disrupting any further attempts to fire. Their last moments would likely be quite uncomfortable, the weight of the spears adding to the wounds.

... hmm, that was a problem; she only had the two weapons. Ashte would have to get closer and change them into something else if this didn't wrap up now.

In spite of their defense, the soldiers' numbers were dwindling. While their formation had initially afforded them a position that was difficult to assault, now they had been broken. The humanoid machine crashing down on their numbers was only served to further worsen their situation. None of them fled, to their credit, but now they were increasingly laying dead or dying.

The humanoid machine was repeating, internally in a calm masculine voice, that there was a 'System Error'. Whatever this meant was not elaborated on, and did not stop it from crushing several soldiers with its huge size, blood splattering across the stone as the sizable metal figure staggered and threatened to fall over entirely. Beside Lopaley, however...

The small figure was starting to stirr.

Outside of the machine, soldiers were cut down, hacked apart, bitten by the jaws tipping Alasayana's tails, or pierced with javelins. Trineon's bludgeoning blow with the gun served to knock a soldier off his feet, but he was immediately attempting to get back up, gripping his sword and drawing it immediately.

Needless to say, it was becoming clear how this battle was about to end.

The horned man's blade flashed, and with a hissing noise and a shower of sparks it scrapped along the side of O'Menus's borrowed weapon. But it wasn't enough.

The white sword slipped by the red, finally finding its place buried in the man's chest, piercing through his armor, his flesh, his bones, before erupting out of his back stained with blood.

"Ghk..."

A garbled noise came from behind the horned helmet, as the main dropped his own weapon on the plataeu.

"... Heh..."

And yet... he was beginning to laugh?

"Heheheh... hahaha..."

Suddenly, he reached out and gripped the Sun God's hand.

"The Light of the Holy Emperor Bathes my entire body!"

With that exclamation, a high pitch whine began to emanate from his armor, which began to glow...!
