While neither Ken or Hajime had any idea what could have dragged Herald of like that Ken made a quick decision. "Hajime and I will go help Herald! Cutting the rope with a blade is probably the easiest way to get him free." He only added that part to make sure there was no discussion, though he also didn't consider that somehow burning it could work as well. Not wanting to waste to any more time he took off trusting his partner to follow.

Hajime agreed that he would should be able to cut the rope pretty easily and followed his partner without saying a word, though he did try and make sure that they would be able to find their way back. He jammed one of his blade into the road so that it carved a line behind him. Despite this he was still fast enough to quickly catch up with Ken, lifting him onto his shoulders and resuming the chase faster than the human did.

Daichi & Dozer

While the other ATLAS agent initially gave Daichi grief for giving a stranger his name, which irked him, he quickly revealed it to be a joke. Daichi’s mood lightened as he introduced himself as YuYa and his Digimon as Sparky, a cute name for a big scary, fire lion monster. The paradox of the Digimon became greater as he spoke like a child, asking why the fog was still around, something Daichi hadn’t noticed.

Before he could question why, an alert chimed on his Digivice. Daichi thought that perhaps another Digimon had manifested itself, as several had already today. What he wasn’t expecting was a mega-level alert. Daichi glanced over at Dozer, currently in his Tankmon form. As of right now that was the highest level they had been able to reach. While Daichi felt that they were very close to reaching ultimate form, it simply hadn’t happened yet.

As Daichi saw that the new alert was very close to where he currently was, something flew past his face at an incredible speed. Before he could see what it was, it had returned to whoever shot it, Daichi catching a half second peek at a figure off in the mist. Before he could mention what he saw to YuYa, the other ATLAS agent was already riding Sparky in search of the new Digimon.

Sighing, Daichi turned toward Dozer, “Well I guess we should follow them,” Daichi then climbed on Dozer’s back, “But be ready. This Digimon is supposed to be really strong.”

Dozer laughed, “I can take it. I’m ready to go 2-0 today.”

Daichi smiled slightly, but on the inside he was terrified for his Digimon partner. They had never been authorized to go mega in all of their time with ATLAS. In fact Daichi had never even seen a mega level Digimon. While Dozer was putting up a brave front, Daichi couldn’t help but feel that he was at least a little scared on the inside.

But Daichi pushed these thoughts away, as they would only cause problems in a fight. Instead, Daichi steeled himself as Dozer rolled his treads toward where the Digimon was supposed to be. Daichi saw the bright light of Sparky fire-dive bombing into the thick mist. As Daichi and Dozer got closer to the apparent fight, they spotted several other humans and Digimon. Daichi assumed they were also ATLAS agents, as it would make sense to have all hands on deck for this kind of crisis.

From out of the mist came flying BlackFlamedramon, skidding across the pavement. Daichi recognized the Digimon as the partner of Herald, that weird sword guy he met once. Speaking of Herald, he was also here alongside the other tamers. He had been giving orders, only to be pulled by some rope off into the mist.

“What the hell?” Daichi asked loudly, unceremoniously announcing his arrival to the others.

“This better not be like one of those horror movies you’ve showed me,” Dozer said.

Daichi jumped off Dozer’s back and ran over to the other humans. At the same time Dozer started rolling over to where Herald had been taken. The tank Digimon raised his gun hands out at the mist.

“Ready or not, here I come!” Dozer shouted as he began moving full speed into the thick mist.

As several of the party chased after Herald, they would find him hung upside-down from a Lamp-post, as if he had just been attacked by Spider-Man. "Well, this is undignified..." He groaned, his long coat hanging down past the back of his head. He looked up (Or down, depending on your perspective) and saw his Bokken on the floor. "Someone wanna throw me that?" He asked. At that point, there was a bright flash from the mist and then a loud buzzing sound. The next thing the group knew, there was a Stingmon blitzing from out of the mist and straight for Tankmon. "Spiking Strike" It called, the purple energy blade on its arm diving straight for Tankmon.

Meanwhile, as the others ran off to assist Flamedramon, they would see him facing down something that looked like a hodgepodge of different Digimon parts. Although for the most part it looked like Yasyamon, with the mask, gauntlets and Bokken, it's legs were Humanoid in shape, it was wearing what looked like stitched pelt trousers and poncho. Running fowards, it began a relentless series of strikes on Flamedramon, who seemed to deflect them with relative ease now that he could actually see his attacker. Flamedramon backhanded his opponent, sending it flying towards the group that had just arrived, crashing straight into Hinata, the pair of them landing in a heap in the mists. Hinata on his back with the creature atop him, it looked down on him, into his eyes for a few seconds, their gaze's meeting in a strange moment of emotional connection... Hinata would probably also take this opportunity to realize that whatever they were fighting... The alluring eye-magnet mounds on its chest clearly indicated it as female. Now that it had slowed down and given him the chance to actually look it up and down. However, those few seconds passed quickly as the others, including BlackFlamedramon came charging through the mist and the creature rolled over, pulling her weapons up and adopting a defensive stance with Hinata directly behind her.

Despite their best efforts Hajime and Ken couldn't actually catch up to Herald, but finding him tied up to the lamp post was still relatively easy. As Hajime picked up the bokken he couldn't resist inspecting the wooden sword for a bit before handing it over. Ken meanwhile wanted to cut the string and rejoin the others, both unaware that Dozer actually followed them. "Ready, Herald? Hajime do your thing."

Just as the Dinohyumon was about to cut their ally free with one of his blades Stingmon's attack revealed both it's own presence and that of Tankmon. Hajime briefly froze up wondering who he should help first. Based on the context of what happened to Herald Stingmon was more likely to be their enemy than Tankmon, but he had no idea how good the Android Digimon was at close range. After a few seconds he decided to cut Herald free first since the human was closer. Swinging his blade with one hand he used the other to put Ken down on the ground.

Daichi shouted for Dozer to wait as he sped, full track into the fog. While he understood that he was going to rescue Herald, he was going headfirst into a situation that he knew nothing about. The authorization to use Mega forms still weighed on Daichi’s mind as his Digimon partner was fully swallowed up by the fog. Daichi was considering running after the giant tank, only to stop when he heard something shout: Spiking Strike!

There was a flash of purple light as Dozer rapidly emerged from the fog. In front of him was a Stingmon, one who was pressing his stinger toward Dozer, who had managed to grab it with his two gun hands. But the Stingmon was still pressing down strongly, still pushing Dozer back.

It became obvious to Daichi that Dozer was struggling to hold back the stinger, as he was still tired from fighting Airdramon just minutes before. But the Stingmon seemed to still be at full strength as he forced down more and more on his arm stinger. Realizing that Dozer was about to lose his grip on the stinger, Daichi did something dumb.

“Hey, bugboy! I bet you couldn’t even sting a regular old human like me!” Daichi shouted, regretting it before he even finished the sentence.

This did manage to get the attention of the Stingmon, his eyes narrowing. In the next second, Stingmon disengaged Dozer, flying up into the air, disappearing in the fog. Daichi’s eyes panned across the skyline, looking for the Digimon. But the fog was far too thick and nothing was visible.

“Spiking Strike!” a voice shouted.

For a second, Daichi thanked the fact that Digimon had a habit of announcing their attacks, before realizing that it meant that Stingmon was directly above him. Daichi barely saw the bright purple flash as Stingmon rapidly descended from the sky. With all of the reflexes he had, Daichi fell backward, tumbling across the pavement as Stingmon made contact with the ground of where Daichi had just stood. His stinger cracked the sidewalk, shattering it a full foot and a half down.

Taking a second to remove his stinger from the second, Stingmon’s eye narrowed at the prone form of Daichi. But as he began to dash toward him, a voice in the fog boomed: Sub Vulcan!

Stingmon barely had time to stop as a hail of gunfire created a barrier between him and Daichi. Dozer then emerged from the fog pointing his gun hands at Stingmon.

“Get your stingers away from Daichi!” Dozer said in his best Batman impression.

Stingmon decided that Dozer was the bigger threat, pointing his stingers at him and shouting: Moon Shooter!

The stingers launched out from his arms, speeding toward Dozer. With all the agility and aim he could muster, Dozer opened fire on the flying stingers. The hail of bullets was enough to break up one of the stingers, but the second one was merely knocked off course, slicing through Dozer’s left shoulder.

Dozer hissed in pain at the graze, unaware of the venom he had just been injected with. By now, Stingmon was once again flying around in the fog. Daichi had managed to get to his feet, and ran over to Dozer, taking cover under the tank Digimon. Above the pair the sounds of insect wings flapping quickly were very present.

As Herald was cut down, his head hit the concrete hard. "Ow..." He groaned as he grabbed the Bokken and struggled to his feet. "He caught me offguard, it won't happen again... Please don't tell anyone about that..." He muttered to DinoHyumon. He then watched the battle unfolding between Tankmon and Stingmon, it was a slugmatch with the two powerhouse Digimon slugging each other. As the Stinger hit Dozer's shoulder, it sliced deeply at this point, the others would notice a look of worry hit Stingmons face as he clearly realized he had made a mistake. "Um, i'm terribly-" Stingmon then clasped a clawed hand across its mouth. "Not supposed to talk... AH I DID IT AGAIN!!! AND AGAIN!!!" He then shook his head and quickly buzzed towards where the other group was "I'M SORRY JENMON!!!" He screamed in retreat. As Herald managed to get to his feet, he ran towards the others, pulling out his digivice and pressing a few times on it. He then looked at Bakuto.

"I got you, Agent." He said, pressing a few more buttons "But... Jenmon? That's not a Digimon i'm familiar with..." He said to the others. He then got out his Digivice and pressed the comm-button. "ATLAS base, this is Herald, we got any information on a Jenmon?" He asked. The others would hear the conversation through their digivices too.

"Running now..." Said the familiar voice of the dispatcher. However, that was quickly overtaken by Siggy's voice

"Herald?" Siggy asked. "We need a sitrep right now." He demanded.

"Ran into a Stingmon. Hid in the fog and managed to get the drop on us, luckily, Agent Daichi was here to drive it off." He patted his hand on Daichi's shoulder.

"STINGMON! IS THERE ANOTHER DIGIMON WITH IT?!" Came the voice of Director Lucas. "ANSWER ME, PHANTOM OF THE DIGIVERSE!!!" Herald clearly smirked beneath his mask.

"A little tetchy aren't we? If you must know, yes, there was something else, but i didn't get a good look at it." At that point, everyone's Digivices symultaniously activated.

"ALL ATLAS AGENTS IN HIGHTON VIEW TERRACE, THIS IS DIRECTOR LUCAS-" It cut out for a second as a struggling sound was heard "GET OFF OF ME!" He yelled at someone that was clearly struggling to take the transmitter off of him. "As director in charge of security, i'm authorizing Mega-level digivolution, immediately!"

"BELAY THAT CLEARANCE!!!" Director Siggy's voice roared over the digivices, before silence fell.

"Wow, what got his panties in a bunch?" Asked Herald. At that point, another digimon appeared out of the mist. "Don't worry, he's with me." He said, as a Thundermon floated over to Kokuwamon and landed on its head.

"READY FOR A RECHARGE!!!" It screamed in a high pitch, before proceeding to zap the small, adorable digimon full of electricity. As it finished, Thundermon stood up, saluted and proclaimed "All done, pooped now" Before falling backwards, straight into slumber.

Meanwhile, with the others making their way over to the the Yasyamon lookalike, BlackFlamedramon smirked "Wow, what got his panties in a bunch?" He asked as he heard the very vocal argument between the Directors over one of the others Digivices. "Now, i think we were about to throw hands." He grunted, flexing his claws and beginning to charge as rose-covered fire covered his claws, clearly readying a Fire Rocket." As the mist gave way to see Haku stood in front of Yasyamon. "IDIOT!!!" as BlackFlamedraon was forced to overbalance and fell over, firing the missiles straight into the air. "OUT OF MY WAY, P... MORON!!!" He grunted as he quickly flipped himself back up. "THAT ONE'S CRUISIN' FOR A BRUISIN' AND THERE AIN'T NO REFUNDS!!!"
