BTW @ everyone the above acc ^ is a spam bot. I highly don't recommend clicking the "runescape" in pink; it's a hidden link that takes you to a spam site. Their two posts so far were incredibly suspicious, but the edit and in turn raw check made it obvious that they're a spam bot.

Hehe sentient google translate go egg

Anyways planning on getting Nier Replicant remake. Maybe the Saints Row 3 remaster, but idk how good it is exactly. Besides the fact that idk if the from-scratch remake will be on PS4 or not. Unlike many, I'm willing to give it a benefit of a doubt.

I'm going to grab Far Cry 6 next week.

I'm not expecting much, but I just enjoy the mindless fun aspect of the series.

In the meantime, I've been on a huge FFXIV kick lately. Recently finished Shadowbringers, which was an incredible vibe honestly.

Kind of feel like playing Skyrim again sometime, though all the save files I had are long lost. Maybe I could actually "roleplay", like play 100% a stealthy Thieves Guild archer, a College mage, Imperial soldier, etc. Does anyone do or has done something like that before? My characters always end up being everything at once opposed to sticking to a certain build or getting in the spirit of the setting.

Never had any issue RPing in the Elder Scrolls universe, myself. Some quality of life mods out there, but generally you just need your story in your head and stick to your personality.

Yeah; it's more so sticking to personality/character when it comes to games like Skyrim for me that I have issue with. I can get all enthralled in the setting, but nonetheless I still fall victim to... what would you call it; the "gamer mindset" or something like that? Where you're way more focused on the game aspect over the actual setting/roleplaying aspect. I'll have a noble heavy armor shieldbearer in mind only to just play edgy stealth archer or something raking in gold/steamrolling everything for my benefit, if that make any sense for an example.

Does anyone else get really tired of the "Release this OP character, and then nerf the shit out of them, only after everyone buys them day one" shtick, that Nintendo's been doing for Smash? Or what most MOBA's do for their characters, no just me? Ok.

In fairness, I've stopped caring about Smash, forever ago. So let people have their sixteenth sword user, if that'll make'em happy.

So, on a separate note. I played/purchased a random app game forever ago. Called "Rogue Adventure". (It's a Slay The Spire knock off.)

And, for the awfulness of mobile ads and what it is, it's not too bad for a rogue-like cribbing of another superior/bigger budget game's style. Which is something I might've said, if I haven't been doing my damndest to find the slightest bit of enjoyment out of "Slay The Spire". (The original game, that I got on sale at least.)

Or as it should be called, "You lose, because we said so", the game. I mean, my god. Not one rogue-like has made me feel like I've just wasted my time over and over again, more than this one, after completing "a run". Even when I'm permitted to get the cards necessary to win something, I'm only glad it's over in the end.

Because, it doesn't even feel like RNG at all. It feels entirely pre-determined. (And genuinely, the mobile knock-off was better at keeping me engaged and wanting to play it. Since it felt like picking the right cards and items, would actually pay off in the end.) But I've done two of the four characters, and I'm basically continuing because of a sunken cost fallacy. (Like, I might as well finish unlocking this shit that I won't get to use.) Because if the end game is just "Play longer, but less fair somehow."

I'll pass, thanks.

Yeah, Far Cry 6 is, as always, the same game with a different skin.

That said, I'm looking forward to mindless fun this weekend while I clear it.

Far Cry is a series where I wind up buying the game for like 15 bucks six months later in a sale, playing it for like 5 hours and then never touching it again which is also the story I have with Watch Dogs Legion except I keep telling myself I'll play that and even bought the expansion for it.

I make bad decisions a lot.

Okay on one hand that is vaguely insulting to the character but you do you,

On another, it's actually 22 apparently. Counting both fighter pass and base game characters.

I never understood the sword character hate considering that apart from the obvious mirror characters, the sword characters are all pretty unique in how they play - as unique as a game with a smaller input list can be anyway. Like yeah, they have counters but it's not like Robin plays like Sephiroth plays like Hero plays like Corrin plays like Link plays like Shulk, etc.

I can assure you that my number was arbitrary. And based on how uninspired they've designed far better characters in the roster, I think Nintendo will survive my hyperbole.

I never understood the sword character hate.

I think the only actual backlash is on the Fire Emblem characters specifically. (That just so happen to play far more similarly to each other, than most.) Because they'd prefer to spend their 10 dollars on Banjo Kazooie instead of Byleth.

But make no mistake, I've basically disliked almost every new character they've introduced and expected even more money for. (If only partly because, no single game is worth hundreds of dollars.)

But Nintendo is basically the only company capable of getting away with murder, and having all its fans still eating it up.

Source: Nintendo Fan (at least comparable to Sony/Microsoft.)

I mean sure in the way that Ryu and Ken play similarly but there's a reason people play, say, Lucina or Roy more than they do, like, Ike.

Same; I've probably spent countless $$ between WoW, SWTOR, and other MMOs too lol

Honestly, I should probably get back into playing MMOs again, but I haven't found much that isn't a) total trash or b) something I'm interested in. Like, I've tried Final Fantasy, but the game never clicked with me during my stint of playing it. Though, that could also be because I was/is never a huge Final Fantasy fan. After all, other than the MMO, the only FF game I've played is Tactics.

The weird thing about FF14 is how this is a perfectly reasonable opinion because the game absolutely takes a stupid long time to click (god help you if you play a lancer with your two buttons for like 40 levels) but everyone in the community has to always be like "No dude trust me stick with it it gets so good I promise just stick with it honest it's great" and it's like you don't have to be so desperate, not everyone's gonna like it, relax, it's fine.

I'm curious about New World but not curious enough to buy it because that game kind of fascinates me on the level of 'they literally tried making a PvP/Crafting focused MMO then had to go back and add PvE shit because PvE is the biggest appeal for the genre' and I can't imagine the end result worked out super great
