@ERode You mentioned that it moved slower when it was doing "snakeing shit" which conjured the image of a sash creeping through a complex obsticle. Like going under a door to access a desk drawr, pulling it open (with Klava tugging), recovering the sample, etc etc. But if it's just whip-like actions and not full mage hand, then you can disregard that.

The manacles are meant to target wrists/ankles? Or does it expand magically to wrap around anything that it’s fired against. In regards to ‘destroy similar chain’, are you saying here something about destroying a chain with E rank defense? Or C rank?

It's closer to a larger handcuff being with what I had in my head. It's meant to wrap around people's limbs, but it could probably latch onto a neck, skull, or large monster bit if it could surround the majority of it.

I was kind of ambivalent about the destruction, since most of the rank stuff has been weird and hard to follow. It's basically supposed to be a mix of an intentional action to break the chain and it making sense that it would break the chain. Basically, object of convenience. If someone wants to break the chain, they can. It's fun to get hit by it though since Apollo is also stuck and putting weird limitations on combat like a 12 foot tether is funny.

@The WorldHonestly? I don't mind if you just make it about as instant for both extension and retraction as, like, an extendable baton and a tape measure. It'll just take longer to extend or shorten it to a length that isn't the shortest or the longest. Only thing you'll need to be aware of is that it'd be 'easy' for others who grab the weapon to pull/hold onto it too.

@BrokenPromise I don't need finer movements if it's just a terrain-grabber, so ye, no.

@OwOTug o War against small children turning into a stalemate because everyone has the same physical stats in Esper mode. Basically sounds fine though. I personally think it might be a bit weird visually to like, attack the chain but pop open the manacle instead, so maybe just say something like 'the manacle could be forced open by an E rank attack' rather than go on about 'attacking the chain'.

Hello, here are the changes to Aria's genre upon being upgraded to Silver:

I've based it on Erode's suggestion. Do let me know if there's anything that I need to change :D

@ERode Just write it up like we discussed and I'll probably give it a pass.

@mantou Full mana refund on a note doing its job is sorta high, especially if you can just AoE everyone and hope they get hit by one of the RP's three primary damage types. For simplicity, how about a 5 mana refund every time one of protector's damage immunity effects activate?

I’d say just equal it to Apollo’s. 10% mana refund for the melody.

@FamishedPants "damage akin to a physical E-grade note?" I take it you mean a damage note cast at E-grade, but it does physical damage?

If that's the case, I think that's a'ight. Go see what uncle Erode thinks.

Yeah I did word that one a bit weirdly, but you got it right. I changed the wording to hopefully be better in that regard and now I wait for@ERode

Yeesh, I get it. Sam hates humans.

Anyhow, I personally think it's overtuned to cause physical damage twice (especially because it's essentially unavoidable after the fact), but the conditions are whacky enough that maybe it's ok. In the case of physical damage in particular, it's very much a sink or swim thing, considering how physical damage is the one that's least affected by ranks...which means that it's either useful (magi, esper) or useless (monsters).

That is to say that it's fine if Broken thinks it is.

You can say that after his face-heel turn down the line where he backstabs Su, forcing Mika to become a PC, and then simps for Oros. Or whatever convoluted, minimal-effort shock-value plot points that spur a post into action later on.

Yeah, that's pretty much my reasoning for submitting it as-is. I imagine there'll be enough monsters to deal with that it won't be effective on a majority of encounters. Or at least not on the majority of foes, especially since there's always the chance a particular Esper decided to become THE WALL.

I was originally thinking of stealing ranks of defense instead but that doesn't sound quite as aggressive for an instrument special.

@BrokenPromise @ERode I've changed it to refund 10% of the mana cost. Does this look better?

@FamishedPants@ERode Just for clarity, it's going to do as much damage as an E-rank damage note would normally do to espers/magi. So think cuts that are deep enough to bleed. Not something that can be ignored, but not life threatening on their own.

@mantou Decided to go with the big D 10% mana recoup huh? I'm more or less okay with that. But If you're going to take Aria's crush on Apollo to your character sheet, that can only trigger once for everyone her melody affected.

That sounds good to me! In that case, should I specify it like "can only trigger once per turn" ?

Yeah, that is how it was intended. Of course, if you think it sounds too weak I can always change it to a Damage X. :^)

@BrokenPromise So it does the total of an E rank damage note over the course of two rounds? Or it does an E rank damage note every round, for two rounds?

I did intend for two instances.

@ERode Two instances is fine. That's pretty survivable, unless you're a mook/minion type enemy. At which point you have to wonder if waiting out for the full damage effect is even viable.

Su's blast zone is only one instance of damage, but it's easier to trigger and it's arcane, which monsters are allergic to.
