Once gone from the warmth atmosphere of the bar lounge and Max' sinful gaze, Savanna found herself meandering through the hotel, phone in hand - tequila shot long since drained and abandoned - trying to get a hold of her other other half. Her third? Her Yas.

Eventually, seeing as the designer wasn't answering her door, which Vann spent an exorbitant amount of time bashing on, spilling out just about every loving expletive she could at the solid piece of wood; and being yelled at from a neighboring guest, she turned on her heel and proceeded to the upper floors where the "main event" was to be held.

It wasn't long after she arrived that she swung by to grab herself another drink, a Paloma this time - extra strong - before weaving between fellow alumnus gathered. There were a number of people already there, some she hadn't seen since graduation while others she had kept brief contact with. It was them she made a mental note to stop by and say a few cliche words to. Not a party around that Savanna Santos didn't feel the need to go to. If not for the company, absolutely for the drinks. And cause a little mischief while she's at it. The people that she found herself surrounded by made it too easy in high school. She found herself wondering if they still had the same buttons she could push...

Caught up in her own mindless indulgence, sipping on her drink, she felt a pair of eyes honing in on her. Falling prey to some kind of predator. A feeling she enjoyed when in the comfort of a bed, not so much when out in the open as this. A firm placement to her lower back and it was gone. Once Benji spoke to her she wished he hadn't pulled away so quickly and Vann found herself leaning back into him; searching for more.

Without looking she smirked into her drink, shifting her weight to the other leg, purposefully brushing her ass against him. "Molly's a popular girl, hard to get in touch with but I hear you have that magic touch." How Vann wishes she could just stay in his zone of comfort. A dirty, messy, toxic zone - but one of familiarity and comfort nonetheless. Spinning in place she was able to come face to face with the handsome boy man from the west coast. It hadn't been long since their last meet up; she was in town a few months ago just traveling and decided to swing by. What should have been a normal half day visit turned into a much longer stay. One filled with narcotics, dancing and of course filthy sex. All in all a fantastic vacation.

Vann wondered how their interactions would go in front of their fellow graduates. Would anything be different? In a good way? Now that they were here, for this reunion, face to face she found herself not giving a flying fuck. All she could do was stare up into hazel eyes, gaze drifting all across his face from the snake bites on his lips to his goofy trademarked cap, she couldn't get enough of him. "Suit and jeans?" Vann couldn't help but rake her eyes across his features, scanning his body as she did so, free hand coming around to the back of his neck and scratching lightly at the base, "Not really your style, Benj. Too much fabric~" Her mission to find Yas a failure; but the night was still so very young. Vann had time to kill and company to keep.

A @LovelyComplex & @metanoia collaboration || featuring Nate the Great & Spike-Meister
________________________________________________________________________________

Of course Spike would get distracted. One fan turned into two which turned into three and four. He had to apologize to the growing group, surprisingly more geeks than he expected to be at the airport this evening. He blamed the movie that now made his comic series mainstream and there were more to come! It was cool and all that his series was going to be the next X-Men or something but it didn’t change that this was not the type to get stuck.

Once he was in his Uber, luggage just tossed in, Spike pleaded for the driver to go as fast as he can, obviously within the law, because he was going to be late. As the driver stepped on it, Spike started texting all his friends one by one, not thinking it probably would’ve been easier to send a group chat.

He ‘omw’ texted on my way again, again, and again. Was he frazzled? A little bit. He was on an adrenaline high not only because he was praised at the airport but because he felt the nerves rush through his veins. He was really doing this. He was going to see his class and hear how much they’ve achieved, how much they’ve grown, how much life they still had to look forward to.

The butterflies weren't anything bad. It felt like at least for one weekend he could pretend that he didn’t grow up, that no time had passed, and that he could relive the best years of his life. Sure, he was in a much better place mentally, emotionally, and hell, even physically, but there was less on his mind. High School was simpler. He lived in the moment and every little incident that transpired became part of their small world. Such trivial things, now that he looked back, but weighed so heavily on them.

The real world was a larger stage and life was unpredictable. High school, though? It was just about him, her, and us. They were young and they had fun. If only he could tell his younger self to just enjoy it, that it was happening. Life was happening and it was so easy because none of them knew as much as they know now.

He was excited. Giddy even to say hello again.

Speed walking down the hallway of the hotel, with his card key in hand, Spike hurriedly searched for his room. The time was 8:05 PM. He was five minutes late. Not too bad for how close he was cutting it. His suitcase rolled behind him, with a duffel on top of it, as he scanned the doors. Glancing at his watch, Spike could feel his anxiety reach his throat. This weekend was going to be great. A good getaway from the everyday hustle.

Coming from the opposite direction of him was, if he did admit it to himself, one fly, not-so-scrawny-anymore, smooth-talking (when he wasn’t in his head), photo-taking (but not on this night), son of a gun named Nathan Blake. In the hour he had to spare, the photographer didn’t bother with organizing his luggage. He could always try and do that tonight if he got back to his room early enough. If not, then it didn’t matter since he was only going to be here for a few days, anyway.

After Nate had showered as quickly as he could so he could pick out an outfit that both showed that he hasn’t changed, but also might speak to his growth, he went with a bit of a middleground. He had a refined fashion sense nowadays, but the goofy sensibility he was known for ten years ago remained. With a white, long-sleeve shirt and black suspenders, Nate came out rushing out of his room with a dark blue blazer thrown over it and, of course, he had jeans and some black dress shoes. All in all, he was looking pretty good. And he made sure to be conservative with his Armani cologne (he used to be very generous with it).

He walked in a groove that was unique to him. His arms moved along to a rhythm inside Nate’s head, which if he was being honest, was that song from Tik Tok called Astronaut in the Ocean. He couldn’t get it out of his head and he was muttering the lyrics and just rocking to the beat he memorized. In the middle of it all, he wasn’t paying attention and almost bumped into someone who was walking opposite of him. His reflexes allowed him to stop the collision, but it couldn’t stop what happened next.

SPIIIIKEEEE! Nate abandoned all hope and entered a tight embrace with his brother from anotha mother! Heat of the moment was to blame for Nate not clearly realizing the obvious and he blinked a few times after releasing his artistically-talented brother from the impromptu hug. When he realized, he blinked a few more times. “Wait wait wait!” Nate’s arms embodied Peter Griffin as his blue eyes glanced at the suitcase and duffle bag. “Are you just now getting here, bro?!” Nate asked, looking to Spike, then to his luggage, then back to Spike, and, unlike the old Old Spice commercial, Nate wasn’t sure what he saw.

“Shit yeah, dude. Is it me or is it fucking hot?” Acknowledging his best friend but still speed walking to his room, Spike passed his next door neighbor’s door, smelling an oh-so-familiar scent. That floral, woody musk. Top notes of raspberry, mandarin orange, and bergamot; middle notes of rose de mai, jasmine, and lily-of-the-valley; base notes, vanilla, cashmeran, and white musk. Shit. Did he actually remember what was on the bottle verbatim? Briefly, he stopped in his tracks and glanced at the door.

What were the chances, like really?

Only to confirm his thoughts, he could hear his first love screaming her heart out. The song she was singing was Floorfiller by A*Teens. For a moment, he stood there in complete shock.

Wait, wait, wait.

He should’ve been prepared for this. He knew she was going to be there. He knew they’d see each other. Did he expect her to be right next to him? No, absolutely not. Still! He could handle this. He got this. He was the Spike-meister! Shaking his head, he went back on his mission.

After unlocking his door, he threw his bags in with reckless abandon. Once his luggage was in, he threw his coat off and tossed it in too. Pocketing his key card, Spike turned on his heel to look at Nate, who was still dumbfoundedly staring at him. Loosening his cuffs and unbuttoning some of his shirt, for a more summer, casual look, Spike grinned at his partner-in-crime, “Hey, I must not be THAT late if you’re still fucking around, ey?”

For a brief moment that didn’t feel that brief, Nate watched Spike operate only in a way that he knew his best bro knew how to. Without any wasted motions, he went to his room, threw his luggage and coat into the room, seemingly not caring where it landed. And as he did watch him, Nate couldn’t help but think to himself how much…he really hasn’t changed in that aspect. Always one to make the most out of any situation, especially when he was in a pinch and doing it with a certain style that made him the perfect partner-in-crime for Nate when Mandy was otherwise preoccupied (or in this case in a whole different part of the country).

“And what? You expected me to miss the Spike-meister in his luggage-tossing prime?” Nate the Great Blake made a ‘pfft’ kind of noise as the grin that Spike flashed at him was a two-way street. “But let’s jet, my man! Babes and booze await our fashionably late arrival. Not to mention, I’m dying to see Maxx. Feels like forever since the last time I’ve seen him!” Nate absentmindedly commented, walking down the hall with Spike towards the elevator, almost tugging him along by the arm (but in a gentle, non-rushing way), not at all factoring in that it really wasn’t that long ago since he’s seen one of the most fashionable people he knew (present company excluded).

“Yeah let’s do this. I might be a bit sober for this but we totally got this. Exes and all.” Following Nate’s lead, Spike found himself going with the motions hoping for the best. When they entered the elevator, he asked, “So, uh, is there anyone you want to see? Besides me. I know you can’t take your eyes off me.”

“Uh..sure..” As the doors closed, Nate purposely delayed answering Spike’s question as he hit the top floor button. A few moments later and another to sit on it (so to speak), Nate met his best male friend in the eyes. “Yeah, I mean it’ll be dope to see everyone again and see where most of them are at in life.” Part of him didn’t want to say it because he promised Mandy he wouldn’t let the thought of Jasper get him down. “You know, just see some of the peeps we haven’t seen in a long ass time. That’d be great!”

“Hey, and maybe we’ll get laid like good ol’ times. Let’s forget the past, Nate. Right here, right now, let’s make an oath. This weekend we’ll be young again. Whaddya say?!” Spike offered his hand for Nate to grab, and spoke in a manner that was more like his high school self. If there was one thing Nate saw over the years it was how much Spike matured. How grounded he became. Less hyperactive and excitable. Still an upbeat guy, but Spike certainly chilled out a bit. “I say the moment we hit the roof, we take some shots.”

That same grin from before found its way back onto Nate’s face as Spike both tried and succeeded to lift his momentary sadness up, and throw it out the nearest window. Nate’s sadness wasn’t as obvious, but it did sap away his ability to form smiles, but no matter how much was taken away, Spike always knew when was the time to dig and help to get to the root of the problem and when to build him up. Nate always returned the favor. It was the great balance their friendship has always had and why it remained to be one of Nate’s most cherished bonds, familial or not.

As he took the blond’s hand, he squeezed it and laughed with a cheery disposition that meant he agreed about everything he said. “Hell yeah man!” He delightfully exclaimed. He no longer was thinking about his ex or any bad thing that might rob him of enjoying this night with the boys. “And one thing I will say is I have missed the top shelf and I can’t wait to drink a thousand dollar’s worth of whatever top shelf booze they have at the bar and not have to pay a single thing.” They can thank their class of 2012 president for that one.

“I don’t get that craving since I’ll always be partial to screwdrivers. Reminds me of my Paw-Paw. Man, miss that fucker.” After cracking his knuckles and his neck, Spike started hopping on the elevator, causing it to bounce. Loosening himself up, doing a little shimmy, trying to be the best version of his old self, he gave himself an internal pep talk. Fuck drama. Fuck the past. Live in the moment. Get lost in the tunes. And the vibes. Yeah, it’s all about the vibes. When he was done, he looked at his best friend, throwing his arm around him, “It’s go time!” On that note, the elevator door opened.

As the party duo exited the elevator, the music was so loud, the cheers of their classmates so loud, even before they walked out to the rooftop, Nate heard them. “Damn the party is really banging.” Nate’s comment was followed by chuckle as they left the bleak feelings, the regrets of a time’s past, and embraced one of many moments that was sure to be made better by the totally awesome, cooler Bill and Ted duo of Nate the Great and the Spike-meister.

Their first stop, of course, as Spike stated it himself, was the bar. “A line of shots, if you will!” Nate tapped the countertop to whatever beat he heard. He didn’t recognize the song, but it had him feeling almost as good as Spike looked.

“Of course sir. And what would you like?

Screwdrivers! But in shots form!!” He gave the attractive bartender a wide smile. Moments later, there were two shots for each of them lined up in a straight row. He didn’t know if Spike was going to reach for them, but before he did, Nate intervened. “Wait, wait, wait! Before we do, since this was your idea, it’s only fair that I get to decide what we drink to. Aside from being the best looking mofos here our female classmates excluded, we should toast to us and this being a good night with laughs and, like you said, potential one-way tickets to Pound Town!” Yup, even after ten years, Nate still had his colorful wit.

“Damn straight. Straight to pound town!” Spike reached for his shot. Before saying cheers and shooting it in his throat, he responded, “Wait, wait, wait! If you get to do the toast, I get to do the bet. It ain’t a Spike & Nate night without a bet. Or dare. Or whatever. But I want there to be stakes so make it a bet. We have to get laid tonight. If one of us doesn’t… we have to streak around the whole resort, first thing in the morning. If we both get laid, fuck yeah, then we treat the other to a date. That’s only fair. And if we both lose, well, we both gonna’ be naked up in this piece.” Accomplished at his words, Spike started bringing his shot glass to his lips--

“Wait, wait, wait!” Nate exclaimed, putting his hand up, stopping Spike from taking a sip. “I mean, yeah, I obviously love that bet. All of your bets are classic, bro! But why not do a dare tonight? The night’s young totally like us and people here need to know the boys are back in town--” Nate realized, technically they aren’t since they were so far removed from Palm Beach, “--well, so to speak.” He laughed and enjoyed it for a few seconds and went back to it. “So whatadda say, man? A classic Darepolooza like old times! You in?” He picked up one of his shot glasses, raising it near Spikes, giving him almost pleading emoji eyes.

Chuckling, Spike smirked at the endless possibilities of how the night would turn out. “You know it.” And with that, the bold, audacious, kind of crazy duo whipped their heads and drank their shots. Slamming his glass on the bar, Spike roared, “ANOTHER!” and as if the bartender read the two idiots, there were two new shot glasses in front of them. “Rock, paper, scissors to see who dares who first.”

“That makes sense. Vintage for vintage game.” Nate chuckled and grinned. As he balled his fist and held it in front of him, there was a shift in his demeanor. Casual, party Nate was replaced with the same exact Nate, but he had his game face on. “You are so on! And when I win, you are soooooooo going to hate meeee!”

Rolling his eyes, Spike had been in game mode the moment he challenged his friend. Without saying a word, he began to motion his own fists.

Rock...

Spike narrowed his eyes, mentally telling Nate it was on like Donkey Kong. Preparing to pick his option, while starting the count - his fist hit his palm.

Paper.

Nate jerked his fist down into his hand, keeping a stern, focused gaze on his best friend. “You’re going down, Langley.”

Scissors.

Sparks and electricity could be seen metaphorically between the two best friends… if this were an anime. There was no way Spike would lose. He was the Spike Meister! The only one who could face Nate the Great in a chaotic, dubstep atmosphere. “I’ll spank you like I spanked your mother.”

SHOE!

Using shock to his advantage, Spike threw down the opposite of Nate’s ‘go-to’ starter. Breaking his concentration was key in games like these. “Scissors, muthafucker!”

“You sneaky sonofa--” Nate cursed and cursed, then laughed until his sides hurt. “You know me all too well.” He couldn’t be mad that he lost to such a worthy adversary. He was only disappointed in himself for sticking too close to his guns. Somewhere in him he should have figured Spike would go for the opposite way. Maybe he was blinded by a hype and familiar overconfidence whenever he got into Nate the Great mode.

But a deal was a deal. “Alright, champion of RPS. Lay it on me! What’s your dare for yours truly?”

“Solo boy band style. By the pool. Have the DJ play some Backstreet boys or some shit. Do a little dance, make a little love, get down tonight! Let's see if you can reenact your prom-posal.” After the dare was laid out on the table, Spike lifted his shot glass, “You in or are you chicken-shit?”

Ah yes, the promposal that was easily the single greatest thing that Nate ever done and it was followed up by the single worst moment in his life. He literally sat on it, thinking about what this might do to him and what it might do for him. He hasn’t done a dance routine or anything like that (at least not at that level) since that night at prom, but theoretically, he still had it in him.

With a sigh (a deep one, at that), Nate took his shot glass in hand, clinked it with Spikes, and down that sucker in all of its sweet, tangy glory. “You son of a bitch, I’m in!” He snapped his right index finger and thumb and got off his seat. He bumped fists with Spike, internally questioning whether he still had the moves. Or maybe it was who might be out there watching that was getting his heart pumping. Whatever it was, showtime waited for no person!

The bartender was quick to give them their drinks and as he did so, Kim smiled, “Yes. Yes, sir, I… I do.” She quoted The Irisman verbatim, before turning her stool toward him, her left leg over her right, “What about it?” Kimber gave a blissful, unbothered smile at the man she’s had a long history with. She was in a good mood, feeling herself and Max couldn’t ruin that for her.

Immediately. Max was taken aback by Kim’s vibe. It has been years, sure but something was very different. This was not the same Kimber Benson that he knew. There was a new aura to her, a confidence and fierceness in her words. This was a Kim that had finally experienced a world outside of her laptop. The dress alone, which accentuated every positive was enough to strike Maxi in a special kind of way.

Grabbing her stainless steel cocktail pick, she brought it to her lips and took a smooth, slow, unintentionally seductive bite, sucking the olive inside her mouth. Once she chewed and swallowed, she placed the pick on the table. Kim was truly appreciative of the time she spent with her best friend. They both were able to drink their nerves and emotions away the night prior, so now the playwright could present her true, authentic, and best self. The confidant, boss bitch that knew how to have a good time. Kimber Benson, an award-winning playwright and singer-songwriter, as well as an aspiring film director, producer, and actor. So much life to live, so little time.

[color=c37f58]“Looks like you haven’t changed much,”[/colort] Kim said matter-of-factly, before asking, “How’s life treating the star of the show? Any big leads? Any milestones I should care about?” The smile on her face never wavered, even while she took a sip of her Manhattan.

”You know me, KB. All the worlds a stage,” He began. “I just finished up on Hamilton though. Felt like I was back on one of your shows to be honest. Nobody plays a villain quite like me.” It was true, that the curly haired man had a knack for always being the bad guy. It was a trait that he had carried throughout his entire performing career. Maybe it was just so easy to hate him? Who knew? In spite of the acclaim he had gathered over the years, Max would stand by the fact that the best work he ever did was in Kim’s Hateful Ever After.

Raising an eyebrow, Kim listened to Max, as he did his thing and talked about his achievements and how he had a knack for playing the bad guy. Teasingly, the playwright inquired, “Have you finally found that special someone or is it still you and Vann living in a forever fever dream? Please do tell. We both know how much you love to talk.”

He was somewhat taken aback by the forwardness. Max and Kim had been duelling against one another for the better part of five years. It was a game that only they could play and of course, the minute they met, the game was back on. Maxi had no idea whether or not to be terrified or turned on. ”I’m still waiting on you, Kim. Waiting for that wedding invitation so I can turn up wearing white and do what I do best. Steal. The. Show.”

“I am dating someone.” Kimber shrugged, knowing well enough that the person she liked was just a passing moment, someone to go on dates with until she had to say goodbye. “Though that’s going to end soon since I’m moving out of the big apple.” Kim smiled to herself, feeling the excitement of her next endeavor. She was also looking forward to being closer to Lili. Last night made her realize how nostalgic it all was, how much Lili felt like home. She missed her terribly, which only meant another reason to move sooner rather than later.

”Really? That’s interesting.” Max was a little shocked by both her statements. ”Why are you leaving? Your shows are doing big numbers and getting some great reviews.” He stopped himself, having now revealed he was fully aware of her Big Apple escapades. He took a drink from his glass, fully committing to the breaking of the ruse now. Why the fuck not? Kim had the ability to see through his bullshit anyway. ”Or are you finally heading to Hollyweird to write for the CW?”

Staring at Max, with her sharp, dark eyes, she contemplated her life thus far, realizing it was kind of bittersweet to be at a reunion full of people she used to know. Some survived the years, but most faded away like stars before the sun. In all honesty, she never had a bond like she had with Max. She would never admit it but him, just by existing and paving his own path to inspire other King’s Academy students to immortalize their name, helped her come to terms with her own strengths, and weaknesses. He made herself aware and oddly enough, she was appreciative for that.

What the hell did Lili put in her drinks last night? She was actually feeling things beyond spite for this eyesore of a man. “You know for damn sure my writing is better than whatever shows they have on CW.” Her eyes trailed past Max to observe the energetic duo behind him acting like no time had passed. Part of her wished no time had passed. To be young forever, in a period that was simply about having fun and being a kid. Her career life was more than together, she had good friends and a good network of people, but she still felt like she was lacking.

Maybe that’s why the move was so important to her. Maybe, part of her just wanted a new environment, surrounded by new people to find that person she truly clicks with. Dating was one thing but falling in love and intertwining each other’s future to make one? That was what life was truly about. She could write about all these raw emotions and yet still not personally have lived through it. That’s why it was easy to write struggles and drama, the focus in the end was never about love but overcoming obstacles. “To answer your question, yes.” She took another sip of her drink before continuing, “I’m changing platforms and writing work to go on the big screen. I could do that anywhere but…” Bashfully, her eyes grew distant, as she thought of the things she wanted and more. “I need change.”

Coming back from the vaults of her mind, switching on the confidence again, Kim smiled, “How about you? You say the world is your stage and yet you limit your talent to broadway. Is New York enough for Maxwell Bedlam?”

Maybe the reality was that he had matured since their last meeting? Or perhaps it was simply Kim’s presence but either way, for the first time in a long time, Max wanted to be brutally honest. “The world’s not enough, chica.” He responded with his best Scarface impersonation. Truth be told it wasn’t too much of an impersonation considering the type of work some of Maxi’s family was involved in. The Montero clan were well known throughout the Miami underworld. “Venturing out has crossed my mind. Tried writing a few things. Done a few tv auditions. I’m either not white enough or Hispanic enough…not gay enough. At least on the stage, I know that there isn’t anyone out there that can do what I do.”

Placing her glass down, a lot harder than she meant to, Kim crossed her arms and gave Max that look he knew all too well. A perplexed look that told him she didn’t agree with his attitude. “So what now? You’re just going to give up?”

After all this time, he was still hitting the same wall, his own imagined limitations. “To be something, you have to live. And I don’t mean fucking whoever and doing whatever gives you a temporary high. You want something permanent? You fight for that bitch. You think getting my plays seen was a walk in the park? Fuck no.” It was clear Kim was extremely passionate about her experiences.

“My best play I ever made, you know it very well, was ripped to pieces in college. All that confidence I thought I had? Right out the fucking door. Imagine being the daughter of two writers and realizing you might not be as good as you thought you were.” Unlatching her arms, she grabbed her drink, switching her crossed leg position. After taking a deep sip, she disclosed, “I was a barista starting off, and I really thought hey maybe I should give up. What’s the point if I’m never going to be good enough?” Kim knew since childhood she was an observer, someone meant for backstage, never the limelight. She was understated and muted in comparison to her classmates so she always struggled internally, thinking she was invisible.

“You know what helped me?” She paused, speaking completely from the heart —pure, raw, and vulnerable. Kim realized she was talking way too much and towards Max of all people. Maybe he didn’t want to hear any of this. Maybe she bore him to tears. Maybe she was preaching to the choir…

And yet, she was completely herself and comfortable with Max, having faith he’d handle her words with strides. She admired him and believed in his character even when he was a thorn on her side. “You did. It was this random lonely night where I was eating Chinese and just staring at my laptop screen. I thought about you—” She glanced away briefly before quickly covering her words up with sarcasm, “—I know shocker. But the time you saw me… getting cold feet with my play. You called me an absolute bitch but you also said I was talented and that you believed in me.”

Adjusting her position, realizing her dress rose up, Kim sat on her words you saw me and blushed. Did she actually just go on a tangent? Did she actually just admit to Max that he randomly entered her mind when she was alone? Did she actually inadvertently reveal she cared about him? What the fuck was she on. Clearing her throat and looking away once more, embarrassed now, she pushed onward and encouraged, “Well, Max, you’re an absolute bitch but you’re literally one of the most talented people I know so… don’t give up.”

The fuck was this?

Kimber Benson just blasted him with all kinds of info that his brain and heart now had to compute. He had secretly been following her success all this time, of course he had. It was true symbiosis, their relationship. There as a constant giving and taking away. Pep talks and idle threats. It had been that way for years. Max loved Vann and Yas, he was bros with Nate and Spike but Kim…that was a different type of animal. Something electric and dangerous was between them, sweetness and toxicity. At a loss for words and as she always did, Kim had given Max a lot to think about. Unable to promote how he was feeling, the performer defaulted to his usual state but this time, there was a soft sincerity to what he was about to say.

“Before this all ends in a tragedy for for Shakespeare, I want you to know, you look beautiful tonight.”

Rolling her eyes, in a playful manner, Kim gave a very kind and genuine smile, full of warmth and delight. She accepted what had happened. Opening her mouth, to return the compliment, she stopped before she could say anything when the sound of a ringtone she knew well resounded in her clutch. “I… have to take this.” She said apologetically, before removing herself from the bar. “It’s nice seeing you Max! I’m sure we’ll talk again.” Once she waved goodbye, she picked up the phone, “Hey babe, what’s up?” and walked away to a quieter area, far away from the bar.

“Well that happened.” Maxi shook his head before dropping onto a nearby stool and downing the remnants of his drink. He slid it further down the bar and looked up at the employee that stood before him. “Sweetheart I’m gonna need the strongest fucking thing you have….maybe two of them. Fuck it three is a nice number. Chop, chop kemohsabe.” He clapped his hands between every syllable of that final word as his hazel eyes drifted towards the departing Kim.

Nothing had changed.

She was still the only person that saw who he really was.

That fucking sucked.

A ding from his phone pulled the Korean artist from whatever mental vacation he was at as he rode the elevator to the top of the hotel. 'Emphasis on crime for sure,' Jin couldn't help the slight upturn of his lips at the idea of getting a chance to catch up with the crew. Starting trouble, or just throwing gasoline on the dumpster fire that would surely be this reunion, was something he was so looking forward to.

It didn't take long before he was strolling into the pool scene, decked out in his suit jacket and snap back. Feeling a little under dressed was not something he concerned himself with. Their gracious host should just be content that he, and a lot of the others who were bound to show up, weren't going to be sporting the same wear they did on the regular back in high school. 'Oh the look on her face if they had...' He kinda wish he did, now that the thought got him giggling to himself like a schoolgirl with a crush.

The party wasn't in full swing just yet but there was still time. No telling how much of a shit show it was going to be once Savanna got into her groove. It had been a number of years and the two of them still refused to acknowledge that the other wasn't terrible in bed. God forbid he admit that to her. It was clear that nothing was going to come from it and he was all the more happy about it. Doesn't mean that they still don't razz on one another from time to time. Especially since Vann is up in New York visiting with Yasmin a lot. Something to do with her clothing line or other. The Korean typically sticks to what he knows and women's fashion isn't it. He just knows that he likes the way it looks on his bedroom floor. If the Saint herself isn't going to be there causing a scene then all hell will break loose if the "bad bitch club" catch wind of some kind of drama. Whether it be new or rehashed from ten years ago. Jin just sighed, shaking his head but grinning wildly nonetheless. It was going to be an interesting few days to say the least.

Scanning the faces and backs of people's heads in the meantime, Jin was searching for his "partner in crime", making a pit stop at the bar first, "Dude asks for me and then fuckin' Houdini's me? Typical..." his jesting mutterings must have incurred the blessings of some deity above, because as he was turning from the bartender he noticed an all too familiar cap, bobbing and weaving it's way past people and tables alike, only to stop behind yet another familiar, albeit curvaceous, figure.

"Well, fuck me right?" He threw back his glass, emptying it in one go before sliding it across the bar top. Readjusting his jacket and hat he began his saunter towards the two that were bound to have something interesting going on. "Here we go."

Her anxiety barely under control, Jasper had entered the party some-what late.

While it looked like most of her classmates were here, she couldn’t help but notice that there were still some faces missing. Jasper welcomed that fact, sighing with relief as she continued to scan the rooftop. If others were still missing, maybe she wouldn’t stand out as bad.

It didn’t take long for Jasper - or anyone for that matter - to realize that the bar was the place with the most going on at the moment. While every face in here looked familiar or reminded her of one person or another, Jasper honed in on one of the darker haired figures at the bar. Something about the way the other woman presented herself struck Jasper with an overwhelming familiarity; If only she could see her face.

As she watched, the woman leaned forward to order from the bartender. It only took a split second for Jasper to recognize one of her closest friends - Bruna. After all, who else was going to rock a black dress on the same level as herself?

Walking towards the bar, Jasper stopped in her tracks - right there in front of her were Spike and Nate.

Thankfully she had spotted them before either of them had noticed her. They were both too caught up in whatever conversation they were having, and she was standing a few feet away from them. Silently thanking the Universe for allowing everything to align perfectly to avoid whatever trainwreck that was about to be, Jasper continued on her journey to Bruna.

Jasper had spent the last ten years protecting Nate from herself, and she wasn’t about to ruin that tonight. If he wanted any sort of closure, he would have reached out already, right? If he wanted to talk to her tonight, he would find her. Jasper wasn’t about to ruin any sort of happiness that Nate had made for himself with her presence.

Now standing beside Bruna at the bar, Jasper quickly tapped her friend on the shoulder and smiled brightly.

”Bruna, my love! How are you?”
