@Fabricant451 No but I hear it's worth it for a good laugh or two. I like what I have seen about the Ugly Sonic cameo

Seeing the YMS review about it being almost purely referential humor aside. My housemate is supposed to see it this weekend. (And he enjoys just about everything.) So I'll have secondhand knowledge about it soon.

But I never watched the old cartoon. So I don't have nostalgia, or a particular reason to go see it. (Though I watched Sonic 2 last month or so. (Thanks to a friend's enjoyment of the first one.) And that movie was not very good. (In fairness its target demo, seemed to be very VERY young kids.) Especially, when the internet claimed it was focused on Sonic & Pals. It wasn't.

"The Bad Guys" was a perfect representation of an average 5/10 animated movie. (With me being a bit disappointed by the internet claiming its humor was anything like "Shrek".

I saw both Chip and Dale and Sonic 2 and I liked both of them fine enough. Chip and Dale does make Space Jam 2 look tame, though, like holy shit.

I don't know why or how but my YouTube feed has had clips from Family Guy cross my eyes and I'm starting to think the internet just groupthought people into thinking the show was some affront to comedy.

I've been getting some family guy clips in my feed as well. They're sprinkled in with the YouTube shorts feature for me.

As for the actual show itself, I don't really care too much about it. I've seen some episodes but I don't have any strong opinions either negative or positive about FG. I know some people who are really into the show (along with Cleveland, American Dad, etc), though.

Haven't seen it but there's that new Beavis and Butthead Do The Universe that either just came out or is out tomorrow...

And apparently the show is going to start up again with Middle Aged Beavis and Butthead.

It was in the Joe Rogan / Mike Judge podcast

The first Sonic was better than the second. Though it was simply a tighter/shorter movie.

It came out Friday on that streaming service no one has (Paramount Plus).

I watched it.

There's something comforting about Beavis and Butthead having the exact same style of humor as the 90s even in a movie where they wind up in 2022. The only thing it was missing was a randomly inserted music video section like Do America had.

I see your comment and raise you one Shadow the Hedgehog. The Sonic Cinematic Universe is embracing the edge and I am here for it.

Also they got Kunckles' love for grapes in the movie. 5/5 best video game movie ever made

I hear they're going to base Shadow's character off his spin-off game Shadow the Hedgehog. Prepare for the word 'damn' my friend.

I know full well anime ain't no cartoon, but I wanted to say that apparently this was the year in Sword Art Online where the characters were trapped in the game. I thought this lil tidbit was neat :D

Anime are cartoons in the Japanese context. Anime in Japanese is a general catchall for all animation. In the Western sphere or rather the rest of the world, it means what we commonly see as anime. SAO, One Piece, Jojo, etc.

@Kuro I assume this is in reaction to all the Warner Brothers stuff getting pulled off HBOMax?

It's kind of complicated, but a lot of people are trying to get a slice of that streaming service pie. The game plan is that Warner brothers pulled all of their shows (their cartoons) from HBOMax because they're going to buy and merge with them. So HBOMax and Discovery+ are going to become one service. If I had to guess this was part of a move to bring HBOMax's numbers down so that they could aquire it for cheaper. But I couldn't tell you why it's actually happening. I will say Warner Brothers has a new CEO (David Zaslav) who's making some interesting policy changes. This probably isn't the place to talk about it but it does explain why there's so much weird stuff going on.

That seems to be the common question everyone is asking. Animators, actors, fans, consumers, etc. I've seen some pretty heated takes from people involved with WB properties from endorsements of piracy to outrage that things they were working on had been suddenly canceled without explanation or forewarning.

Tl;dr Zaslav has singlehandedly wiped out every possible shred of goodwill people had towards WBD/HBO and its platform.

Also, as for The Flash... yeah, I think it's pretty stupid they're planning on keeping it around but not other films like "Batgirl". But the DC peeps (and WB in general) don't want to cancel it because the movie is integral to their attempt to develop a "multiverse" like Marvel's.
