@Majoras End Ah I see, I never really played the Kingdom Hearts games because the lore doesn't really make sense to me. All I know is from baseline knowledge thus my opinion is not the same as your own. Honestly I should give the games the good old college try someday. And that's fair, wasn't my intention to argue.

However what we all can agree on was how truly amazing it was when Banjo was revealed, I tell you I got tears in my eyes. And that is because I grew up playing the Banjo Kazooie games.

The plot's a bit nuts and sometimes hard to grasp. You'll have to cover some ground if you wanna get the extent of the first arch, but imo KH2 is the best of em.

By all mean, didn't intend to argue either! Just felt like talking, that's all. I do get it though, not being interested in certain characters' reveals. But hey, Joker and Bayonetta's from the WiiU/3DS line got me into some good games.

I will say it was really funny that the live reaction for Banjo and the Hero from Dragon Quest was really funny because on one side people were crying tears of joy and celebrating then those same people were like "huh?" when Hero got revealed, I love DQ. But it was pretty funny to see the mixed reactions.

Definitely need to actually play Persona (here's hoping a non-strikers Persona game comes to Switch right? xD)

On one hand you are entitled to your opinion,

On the other you have to at least commend them for even making it possible. Most wanted or not, Disney's stingy with their copyright.

To be fair, it turns out Disney was super cool with Sora being added to Smash, it was Nomura who was the holdout.

Probably because Disney was like "Will it make us money? Okay go for it"

I have almost finished playing "Haiku, The Robot". (Easy Hollow Knight. As it's described.)

And man, I've been waiting for something like this to come out of the metroidvania space for a while now.

I adore its art design, the world connectivity, how it got movement right, the gimmicks that make it stand out, the character interactions and little lore spaces. (Honestly, it only needs a much better soundtrack to make everything else 'pop'.)

However, the biggest objective flaw with the game, is how a majority of these enemies pose no threat to you whatsoever. To the point where you feel kind of sorry for destroying them. Some even seem broken. Like the Jellyfish enemies that shoot no-damage lightning sparks at you. (And a lot of people also say that all the bosses are too easy. And sure, compared to Hollow Knight and its contemporaries, they're all fairly exploitable.) But I think most of the bosses are balanced fine. Due to how slow the healing system is.

Except the final but not really boss that I'm on right now. And how it seems borderline unfair, with how random and unpredictable his movements seem to be throughout his various phases. But I'll keep at it. (After all, I gave Ender Lilies far much more of my time. And yet, I've enjoyed my overall experience with this game, for much longer.) So I'm glad I got this one.

Edit: Finished everything despite the game claiming otherwise. And yes, that boss was still pure nonsense.

@Yankee I saw something that made me go "huh neat" yesterday, did you know Ace Cadet appears in Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate? He gives you a village request, I found myself chuckling it was very unexpected for me.

Yep! Ya boi gets around. Generations is fun, it's basically like the ultimate fanservice MH game. They stuffed it full with almost all monsters from previous gens, and there's also a bunch of NPCs going back as far as the gen 1 games that show up just to give you a quest or two.

That makes me want to try it, but I might be spoiled from having MHW be my first MH game.

I may be the Monster Hunter equivalent of the "Fallout 1 and 2 are too old" or "Morrowind looks too janky" folks.

If the Generations demo is still available, I recommend trying it before diving in. Generations is very much in the older style of games as far as the control schemes, and some other mechanics go. It's a gen 4 game, and World is gen 5 - the big overhaul gen. Even I who had played the games for years before World, after going back to Generations afterward I had a hard time readjusting.

It's not bad by any means, just different. Also the way skills/decorations/charms work is a bit different. It will take some getting used to. If you can handle the older playstyles and want to experience as many of the series' mainline monsters hands on as possible, then definitely check it out. As far as I remember there are only a handful of monsters that aren't added, most of which are Elder Dragons and the mostly aquatic ones from gen 3.

I'm feeling really conflicted with Everhood. Because I've adored the OST, since I first heard it. But the narrative and gameplay is starting to ware on me a bit. (And I have so long to go too...)

It's dialogue is amusing (when it tries to be.) But its certainly not as comedic as Undertale. (Or even Underhero.)

The control scheme seems to make or break certain challenges. (A thing I've experienced before.) But its still a bit obnoxious to have to unplug my controller (or vice versa) to complete something.

And sure, it's gameplay is a damn challenge. But its beginning to feel like there's only one correct path in these latter fights. Almost regardless of difficulty settings. (That forces me into a trial and error run, over and over again.) Which is not, good game design.

The fake ending trope seems to be in every other indie game now. To the point where its almost more predictable than not having one.

So the various nitpicks I've had, and less-than-fun boss gimmicks that I forced myself through, (the rewinding time boss is an absolute piss take.) I wanted the narrative to make me keep going. But the narrative and gameplay are both starting to irritate me...

That's so cool. So far my favorite NPC is Little Miss Forge, her design is striking to me. Cute lil blacksmith!

Quite honestly, I am truly astounded that Team Cherry still has not pushed for Hollow Knight to be a higher price. It certainly deserves it, but I think it is pretty humble of them not to ask more. I'm just only a half-hour in to the game but the audio just is brilliant, the music is moving and it fits the different atmospheres. Like I said in status I was a fool to not play Hollow Knight sooner.

@SleepingSilence my brother you were right, my eyes are opened!
In other news I bought Rise/Sunbreak and am playing from the start (deleted my original save unfortunately) so I'm slogging through the story (which is short from what I recall.) anyways if anyone is up to hunting at some point, shoot me a private message and I'll give ya my friend code!
