There are a few more days, I bet there will be more submissions. This seems to be a well thought out idea and at least a handful has shown interest. I wouldn't be surprised if a few more people popped in to put their submissions up for the raffle.

There was one other who expressed interest in private so you can expect one more submission before Friday.

Me almost hoping it doesn't happen because I'm already getting attached to the people here. ;__;

Just sayin' I wouldn't be offended if a sixth slot opened up.....

This is just to let everyone know that I'm setting a time for the deadline and announcement. Last CSs must be submitted 8am Pacific Friday. Announcement will be 6pm Pacific. I know that means waiting for some (or just the Fire and Non-benders :P ) but it'll give me time to do approvals while at work if anyone else does put in a submission.

Discord invitations will go out at this time. If anyone prefers to avoid Discord, just let me know.

Thank you everyone for your patience and a peak at your amazing writing!

I also updated some information in the library if anyone hasn't noticed yet. It's not much but it's there in case anyone wants to check it out.

This is mostly on me. I'm not 100% sure I can handle six players, but if things are going well, there is an option in the plot to open it up to a second group.

I'd almost argue that 5 people, one for each element + no element is a little too on the nose, but... that doesn't fix the core issue. Things always seem to go wrong when I try to take charge, so I'm not gonna push anyone else to take on more responsibility than they're comfortable with. I'd offer to help but that leads us back to my prior sentence... XD

RPers are fickle people at times so adding more always means more potential wrenches to get thrown into things. :P

I understand the suspense and chills of getting confirmed or not into this thread (and others), but I think we should respect Exits decision for the amount of people they are raffling into this roleplay.
Taking on more than one can chew even with help sometimes shuts down ambition and sparks for a roleplay. I have been there.

It's definitely on the nose lol. Before, I had about ten players so there was a very nice mix of multiple elements, but there was also lot of moving pieces. I wanted to focus things a little more for this iteration. But thanks for offering to help! I think that attitude is important for introducing new ideas and keeping things alive and feeling fresh so don't hesitate to offer suggestions. We'll see how things go in the next few days, and after that, the next few months as we get a feel for the story and each other, but I think everyone so far has been stellar.

I enjoy smaller RPs more, imo. It just makes the application period... much tenser.

@canaryrose It's funny because I've recently enjoyed smaller RPs too (1x1s for that matter). I used to always do group and exclusively those with a much larger player count. But then sometimes you get lost in the shuffle and passed over completely as far as interactions and plotlines go.

I was lucky enough to get into a pretty small scale game months ago that has been great. Really got to know the players well and every post feels less like a chore and more collaborative than I've felt in many RPs before it. The story feels very shared. I'm hoping to provide something similar to everyone here.

@Exit Same! Mine was a year ago, it's just been... really awesome to see what a small group of really good writers can do. From stalking your profile (because I'm like that) I think the RP I'm talking about might be ran by the same people who run the one you're talking about, lol!

I like to think I can roll with the punches, so big RPs aren't really a turn-off for me at first glance, but I do find there is a linear increase in communication and discipline needed as RPs grow in size.

As to picking an element, all I can say is that it came to me in a dream.

@canaryroseYes! They're phenomenal GMs! I applaud what they've done and it's good to know they have other games up that have lasted longer than the one I'm in. Not that this could compare to their body of work but they're the goal.

@Exit DF and Mike are amazing! I remember when they were opening Code Vein- I wanted to join but didn't quite have the time or ideas to do it. Really glad that it's going so well.

That's a perfectly fine reason for me. The original idea for this game came to me in a dream too. I saw this girl and she was watching a colorful whale as it swam across a wall cast in a dark shadow. It reminded me of a spirit and that kind of birthed this idea for a character who was suddenly seeing spirits dancing around her in this very bleak world.

I also generally like to keep the party smallish when I'm GMing groups, I get too frazzled trying to focus on more than a few people
