I do think Roma has a few options regardless if she wants to go attack or talkie route, as they're in a mall and it's probably possible to aproach a few magical girls at a time instead of everyone at once. Though I don't typically like to discuss stuff that's about to happen, because like, why not just wait and read it in post?

Also asking for a friend but are we still allowed to make a second magical girl, and if so, any limitations we have to contend with? Like is it still okay to app alters or are certain grimior levels too high/low? Maybe a preference for more students/faculty/antagonists?

With the current group we have, it should be fine if some of you want to make a second character. As for preferences, I’ll allow one more Myth rank; I’d also prefer to see more Alter Grimoire and possibly more school faculty/teachers.

@TheWendil Perfect. Now if I recall, alters don't like to work with the Grand Ministry, so it would be unlikely for there to be alter grim to be a faculty member, correct?

@BrokenPromise

Most Alters don't like working with the Ministry but it's not impossible some do.

@TheWendil Okay, so I have some questions.

I pretty much have everything but the actual magical girl part figured out, hence where the questions come in.

So I was thinking about doing was an alter tale based on the Fenian Cycle. Yes, Cuhullin is a total chad, but I really like the stories about the more "human" Fianna clan members led by Fionn mac Cumhaill, or Finn McCool as he is commonly called in English.

My issue is that there is no single story that these dudes appear in. They're in several poems written in a body of literature called the Fenian Cycle, which is a collection of early irish writing that spans from the 9th to 14th century. So my question is for a grimoire would it be acceptable to use a collection of stories like the Fenian Cycle that more or less follows the exploits of the Fianna, or would I have to pick a single poem/story to draw inspiration from?

The later option is fine. That's pretty much what many grimoires based on old mythology should be anyway, since those stories always tend to be composite to some extent.

In a way, it even opens the possibility of more than one grimoire drawing from the same rough source, like Camelot and Merlin both originating from the Matter of Britain. Most mythological cycles can be used in this way, and actually make more sense if so, so the idea of a character with an anthology like grimoire is fine in these cases.

Honestly I was more interested in embodying the myths rather than the characters that appeared in them. But after spending way more time than I usually spend pouring over confusingly translated poems, misinformation, etc etc, I think I'm just going to go with primarily focusing on Fionn.

Without further adue, meet your student counselor.

Remind me, Aladdin's concidered a fable, right?

What about something like Sherlock Holmes, or Arséne Lupin? Could also figure out a Alice in Wonderland grimore, but I'm just spitballing for now.

Yes they'll most likely be an alter too.

@BrokenPromise

This is a true Alter as far as differences yet similarities to the original story goes. She's accepted by me; await @KoL's verdict.

The One Thousand and One Nights (and by extension Aladdin) are probably on the cusp of Legend rank since they're around 400 years old give or take. Sherlock, Lupin, and Alice however would all be Fable both for their age and being published works instead of real mythos tales. As an example, Ozma's Wizard of Oz Grimoire is only Fable ranked.

I'm sorry, I can't accept a character based on Fionn that doesn't have to suck their thumb to use her wisdom powers.

At any rate, she seems ok. You know what you have to do.

Yea, the idea was to go "bad end" route with this one since we didn't have any alters that went that way yet.

That's too adorable to exclude. Mika's probably going to stick the tip of her thumb in her mouth when she reads her blade. Just as a quirk.

I'll probably wait until the next round of posts to introduce her, but I don't see her showing up too frequently during outings and such unless she's requested to.

Acts of rebellion and being drunk on the job. The teachers are not setting a great example.

Could have sword she was. Dunno what you wanna call someone who takes people on live drills. She's at least faculty, right?

@FrogRFlowR
I seem to recall Maria getting recruited to help with classes "last week," so I figured she wasn't a teacher in any official capacity.

Someone didn't read posts thoroughly!
She was recruited to be the class' Teacher, Valeria is her second Valeria took over temporarily and accepted to assist Maria since she's a newcomer, as it was mentioned a few times by myself, Ozma and others.

Ozma's never been an official teacher, but her ties to the Grand Minister let her move around freely compared to others. Technically she's faculty by proxy of helping around the school.
