Marc heard martial arts and perked up, adrenaline already running through his veins. Marc had never taught anyone to martial arts because he was too busy learning on his own, so it would be interesting. He would first have to asses how physically fit he was. Marc would need to test him in endurance, strength, speed, and agility in order to properly teach him. He thought about what they should do to evaluate it. Since it was a nice day, he figured why not go for a run, it was still warm outside but not too warm. He even saw a trail about a five minute drive away from the university.
Marc moved over to the closet and pulled out a pair of running shoes.
"The way I see it, if you really want to move to martial arts, and for me to teach you, I'll have to asses how physically fit you are. So, if it's alright with you I'd like to go on a run at the trail a mile away. I'm looking forward to checking it out, plus it can help pass time. If you don't have running shoes, I just got a new pair, and they look your size, so you can use them."
Marc pulled on his shoes and began to stretch.
" If you don't want to do that, then I'll just take a lap around he school and them we can decide what else to do."

Paris watching the boy for a moment, taking in his words. Asses how physically fit he was? Paris had to admit, the guy probably wasn't going to be very impressed with Paris. Paris had a long way to go before he would even begin to consider himself physically fit. He was a healer, it wasn't like he was meant for combat anyway. Paris straighten up with a small smile on his face. "Sure. I'm willing to try. Just prepare yourself for disappointment." He told Marc before turning to his things. He grabbed his tennis shoes and a pair of shorts and went into the bathroom to change. As quick as he was in, he came out, shoes and shorts on. "Alright. After you, Sensei." He told him, winking.

He was never the strongest so maybe it would do him some good to build up his endurance. He'd always had life so easy. He knew how to bandage himself up pretty well but healing others had always come so naturally to him even before he started gaining his powers. He chuckled. Then it just became even easier. He'd often considered himself a guardian angel, gifted with the power to watch over his friends and loved ones. He chuckled again. Maybe he'd become a masked vigilante. But... what would his name be? The Guardian? Hmm... Sounds nice. Maybe he could actually do that. Build up a secret identity and start... healing random people on the streets. It was a bit laughable but he still... considered it. It wouldn't be hard... He'd just have to get a ways from the school, into the city and watch over the city. A modern day Batman... Well, almost.

Agnes stood in front of the main desk. The secretary turned and noticed her, looking at her expectantly. Agnes froze, her fingers tightening around the handle of her suitcase.

"A... Ag..." she stumbled over her words embarrassingly.

"It's Agnes Morrison." Mrs Morrison smiled warmly, walking up behind Agnes with a suitcase. Agnes frowned. Her mother was wearing a dress that she only wore on special occasions - she had worn it to Agnes' graduation too.

The woman at the desk handed over the keycard with a smile that dismissed them. Agnes studied it.

"You really need to work on your confidence, honey." Her mother had said this exactly 82 times before. It did not make Agnes any more confident.

"Sorry." Agnes found her dorm room and opened it, wheeling in her suitcase. She was relieved to find the room empty and went into the bedroom straight away to begin unpacking. Mrs Morrison followed.

"You know, honey. I don't think you'll have time to read all these books." she frowned, beginning to unpack them from Agnes' other suitcase. "There's too many."

"There's only 23." Agnes rolled her eyes, but her back was facing her mother. "I should have brought more, I already know 'Misery'"

"You can't know a book, darling." her mother laughed. But Agnes did know it, and even though she could read it in her head there was something nice about reading it from a book.

All of Agnes' clothes were neatly folded in her suitcase. She had spent a lot of time packing because she hadn't needed a lot of time to say her goodbyes. There was only two people she knew enough back home to say goodbye to. And one cat.

The first was Giselle. Her best and only friend. Giselle was going to be a star, she didn't want to do the whole 'university' thing, it was too 'cliché'. Giselle was kind of scary, it took Agnes a lot of time to warm up to her. Giselle took a shine to Agnes the day she met her, and she wouldn't leave her alone until they were best friends. Agnes didn't really have a choice. But she still knew she was going to miss her. She might never see her again - she was moving away. To Miami. To be a star.

The second person Agnes said her goodbyes to was Felix. She didn't go to school with him. Felix was a man in his late 20s whom Agnes adored. He was smart, and Agnes remembered every word he'd ever said to her. He'd said he would marry her one day, and they would live together, and have a family. They had never shown physical love until the day she said goodbye. He told her he loved and would miss her, and they... well, you know. Agnes remembered every detail. He was who she would miss most.

Agnes realised she had zoned out, something she did regularly. Her mother was in the middle of a rant, which she also did regularly. Something about how carpets harboured dirt and they weren't hygienic and she'd send Agnes cleaning things. She 'wouldn't keep a good conscience' if she didn't.

"I'm all unpacked." Agnes half-smiled. "I guess this is goodbye."

"Oh, honey." Mrs Morrison began to cry. "Be good, okay? No 'college girl' business. And please... try to be more confident."

"Okay. I love you."

"I love you too, honey." she smiled. "I'll call you tomorrow to see how you're doing, make sure you answer, okay?"

Agnes shut the door and her mother was gone. And she was alone.

Marc smiled and gave a hearty chuckle at being called sensei, even if it was a joke it still felt pretty good. Marc headed out the door Paris close behind. As they got into the elevator, Marc turned to Paris and looked at him, with just a small flash of intensity behind his eyes. He said, "If you're really serious about this I'm not going to lie, I'm going to push you farther than you thought you could be. It won't be easy, but when I'm done with you, you'll be a mean fighting machine. Who knows, you might even last a few rounds against me!" Marc winked to let him know he was kidding. He wasn't that arrogant.
Marc hadn't lost a fight, ever, but he always knew he might eventually. He also had never had to use his full reaction speed. The fastest ever was only two times, he had never explored three times. He wanted to, but it would take the fun out of fighting for him. Without a challenge he felt like nothing. That was his biggest fault, something new always had to be there or else he felt it was pointless.
As the elevator continued down, Marc jumped lightly on the balls of his feet a few times testing if he was properly stretched. Then, the door opened and they headed throughout the main lobby and out to the parking lot, and there sat Marc's second pride and joy. His gleaming impala. He opened the door, sat down in the drivers and turned on the car, roaring to life. Hell ya, he thought. He was always pumped for a workout, and this was no different.

Paris inwardly laughed a bit. Haha... Ha... Haaah... No. He'd more than likely never even stand a chance against his new roommate. Still, by the looks of the room and of Marc, if there was anyone to make Paris a bit more... fit, Marc was that guy. Slowly, the smile faded from Paris' face, his more stoic expression taking over. Smiling so much was beginning to hurt his face, though he knew it made people like him more when he at least tried. He sighed and followed Marc into the elevator. As they stood in the elevator, Paris thought for a moment. What kind of person was Paris really? He closed his eyes and let out a long breath. He was... kind but distant most of the time. He chuckled ever so slightly. He tried too hard to be something he wasn't. Maybe it wasn't exactly the way to start off with his roommate. Besides, smiling all the time would get tiring.

The elevator hit the Lobby floor and he followed Marc outside to... his impala? Paris blinked a bit, looking at the car. He didn't bring a car here... figured he'd be staying on campus more often than not. Then again, Marc had said something about the trail being a few miles out. He snorted at himself. Maybe eventually, he'd be good enough to walk there himself, without a car. He sighed and stepped into the car. It was a bit small for his tastes, but then again he did always prefer convertibles. They were just more... open. He hated feeling closed in...

It was a short drive to the trail, so Marc didn't play any music, he just sat and thought that maybe he came on too strong in introductions. He tended to be like that sometimes, which was why it was hard to make friends with introverts for him. He wanted to be a little calmer, but a life of tournaments and training always kept him excited. He gripped the steering wheel a little tighter and pulled into the trail. The car turned off and he got out. The trail was semi hilly and a bit rocky, but nothing that either of them couldn't handle, or at least, he figured. He moved to the trunk and pulled out pedometer, and a microchip that he placed in the soul of his shoe. This would track his miles per minute, factoring in the difficulty and other things to give him an overall score of X/10. He knew it wouldn't be as good with Paris along, but he didn't mind one bit. Running was running, and it felt really good. Trees stayed on either side of the trail providing it with a pleasant shade, but there weren't so many to cease the light breeze.
Marc took a deep breath, still leaning against the impala, stretching his heals and calves. When he was done he turned to Paris.
"Are you already?", he asked he wanted to make sure Paris wouldn't get hurt on this, especially since school hadn't began yet.
"Before we start, there's one thing you should probably know. At certain points, I'll move off of the track for a second or two to practice parkour, then I'll be right back. Anyways, if that makes you uncomfortable, I can do practice later this evening. It's up to you" Wit that, Marc took a stride forward and began the run at a reasonable pace.

After eating Lucius decided to explore a bit, after all he needed a place to practice both of his “passions”, violin and the training his mom gave him since he was young. At first he didn’t really want to continue it, the collage being an escape from all of it. Now as he was here, on this first day, he felt it would be a bit strange to just stop. After all, it was already part of his self.

Going out of the cafeteria Lucius wanted to find an empty or maybe secluded place to practice his violin. After all he knew he wasn’t that good, even with all the praises he got, he was still unsure of his playing. “The campus would be too crowded, a forest would be nice.” He thought to himself. “Off campus a bit but still viable.” He muttered while scratching his chin. “A bit” was a grave understating it was at least one or two miles away, still his training had him going for much more daily so he wasn’t that concerned.

Since it was decided he gripped his violin case and moved in the direction of the hills shortly entering the forest. Before increasing his pace he decided to “store” his load so it wouldn’t hinder him. Using his hoodie’s hood as a gate, he stored it, then started running at a slow pace. For Lucius it was a slow pace, for anyone else it would be fast, after all he jumped around the trees, used branches to move and in general trailed up the mountain.

After a short while he came to a trail, following it for a while he went up finding a small clearing along the way. It was a nice place, a bit secluded, but not that far away. Half of it was covered in the forest’s shadow, making it seem kind of eerie, Lucius liked it though. It somehow calmed him, made him forget about things. He sat on a tree stump roughly in the middle of the clearing and took his violin out. After inspecting and tuning he started playing. His eyes closed a half smile on his face, the soft music resounding with the forests’ quiet.

Paris got out of the car with MArc and watched him as he prepared. Paris blinked unsure of how to do so himself. He bent down, attempting to stretch but didn't get very far. Yep, not flexible. He straighten back out just in time to hear Marc talking to him about Marc going off track. Well... it suited him because odds are he'd be left in the dust of this guy. Paris looked down at the dirt trail with a bit of distaste before he began walking a bit down it.

After a while, he managed to coax his lazy body into a slow jog and eventually, he even got a bit faster. He could still see Marc is the near distance, darting about as he took off away from the path to his training. Paris shook his head and ran a bit faster, trying to at least catch up. That was when he noticed a figure dart by. He blinked, stopping dead in his track and looked up in the direction of where the guy had gone. He couldn't see much but it was obvious the guy was a lot better of physically than Paris would probably ever be.

He let out a disgruntled sigh, looked in the direction of Marc, looked back at where the other guy had disappeared and followed. It looked like someone he'd seen before anyway. He blinked as he got closer, music? Very beautiful music at that. He couldn't really make out what the instrument was until he got a bit closer violin? His mother had always wanted him to learn violin, but he'd never had to knack for it. Can't teach a dog what it can't do, after all. Maybe the same could be said for this running thing. But maybe, just maybe if Paris kept at it, he'd be better after a while. He'd just have to stop being so... lazy. He stayed out of sight until the guy finished the song. Paris had been right. It was the guy from before, at the cafeteria? What was his name again? Paris blinked. Luke? No... Luce? Lucius... That was it! Maybe he should call him Lucy though. He chuckled and then began clapping as 'Lucy' finished his song. "That was great." Paris praised, a small smile on his face. He walked over a bit closer and leaned against a tree nearby. "How long have you been playing? It sounded really good." He began, genuinely curious.

Lucius did hear or maybe sense someone approach, but even with that he decided to concentrate on his playing. There was no malice so it wasn’t someone to be wary off. After he finished and looked at the person who joined him in the clearing. He met this man today, his memory was good for faces but not as good with names. He casually put the violin back into the case as he was praised, trying earnestly to remember the name of this person.

“Thank you… Paris.” A slight hesitation when he said the name could be heard. “Sorry kind of not good with names.” He added sheepishly while closing and putting the case away next to the stump he sat on. “Well Thank you for the compliment, but I’m not really that good.” He scratched his head sheepishly. ”I have been playing for a few years, was my only past time aside from the training. ” He cut himself off noting he shouldn’t mention more about that. No one had to really know he had hands on military training because of his mom.

“Running a bit?” He asked, which was a rather obvious question looking at how Paris looked like currently. Lucius took out his phone to check the time. “How are you holding up? Sorry for asking but you do look kind of tired.” He asked with a semi-concerned look on his face. “Want something to drink?” He asked “taking out” a small mineral water bottle out of his pants pocket.

After a few moments passed by with no answer, Avery turned to her dad and shrugged. “Do you wanna go see the other part of campus?” she asked, figuring that maybe her roommate would have arrived by the time they got back. It was very possible that she was just shy, but it didn't seem like that was the case. Even shy people made a noise, after all. Her dad smiled and nodded, following her out of the room and closing the door behind him.

As the two of them reached the elevator, however, the PA system came on overhead. “Attention students: I would like to take the time to formally welcome you to our wonderful campus and offer my hopes that you come to love it like we have. At the moment, the club officers are finishing setting up their displays in the gymnasium for everyone to view. Feel free to head on over and browse the different clubs to see if you can find one you would like to join,” said whoever was on the other side, taking a brief pause before continuing. “Of course, it isn't mandatory, but we have a diverse group of student organizations, so we would love it if you would at least take a look. I'm sure the club officers put a lot of effort into their displays as they do every year, so I know they would appreciate it too. Thank you and have a nice day!”

“Would you like to head there first, kiddo?” Mr. Thompson asked as they stepped out of the elevator on the ground floor. “I'm almost certain that they have something that you would enjoy, and we can swing through the other part of the campus on our way back.” Mentally, he had his fingers crossed that Avery would agree to at least look at the clubs, though he hoped that she ultimately joined a few of them. She definitely needed something like what a club would offer, and it would certainly be good for her.

“Yeah, that sounds good to me, Daddy,” Avery said, nodding as she lead her father towards the gymnasium, her tiny hand enveloped in his. “I know that there's an Art Club and a Gymnastics Club from looking online after I got my acceptance letter in spring, but I'm not sure what they're actually like yet.” There had been some other clubs that had caught her eye back then, but she figured that two was a good number to look for at the moment, even if she still wasn't sure that she would join any at all.

A few more minutes later and the two were at the gymnasium, which had numerous students passing through the large doors arranged in intervals around the building. Many were already chatting in small groups of two or three, though the number leaving was about equal to the number entering. Inside, the building was enormous, with plenty of room for each club to set up a small booth displaying some aspect of their club, whether it was something that a member created or accomplished or just photos of the club members having fun together. For the most part, the officers of the clubs were definitely exuberant enough to attract attention, actually getting several people that had seemed uninterested to head over and check out the display due to their sheer level of enthusiasm for the club.

Trying to find the club that you were looking for was a bit of a pain, however, as the distance between the booths made it virtually impossible to pick out specific details from a distance, especially concerning Avery's height. That was why her father had picked her up and placed her on his shoulders. The strategy was effective, though Avery wished that it didn't involve people staring at her so much due to how conspicuous she was on top of her dad's shoulders, as they found the desired booth in moments and began heading towards it and dodging small crowds of people along the way.

A.J. Yawned some as he sat up. He looked over at the clock beside his bed and reached up scratching his chin as he stepped out of bed. He looked around his room a bit, a book shelf filled mostly with manuals for different kinds of engines, even a few for jet engines as he pretty much loved anything that went fast. Kicking his feet out of the bed he left his room heading down stairs to his kitchen, making him self a cup of coffee as he looked around. He had moved in a month before, since he was going to school on his fathers G.I. bill he was paid a housing allowance for the cost of living where the school was located, which happened to be a nice chunk. He bought a house, and even managed to get fairly affordable payments. It was a good sized house, 2 stories, 3 bedroom, master bath as well as another bathroom up stairs and down stairs had a smaller bathroom with out a shower. A good sized back yard, with a deck, he thought about getting a dog since he had a good amount of room. It even had a den, most importantly it had a garage. It was a little bit away from the school but nothing to far as he looked around smiling. It also didn't hurt that he managed to get a job at a local garage to help with expenses Suddenly he was back up stairs, pulling on a white tank top and throwing on his black leather coat he was back down stairs as he sat down on his couch slipping on his riding boots as the laces were pre tied and all he had to do was zip up the sides. Soon he was back in his kitchen picking up his coffee and taking a drink as he pulled a half eaten sandwich from yesterday and took a bite. As he was back in his living room turning on the tv to watch the news.

Soon though he was finished with his breakfast and was in his garage, reaching up to his chest he pushed down as his garage opened up. He ran a hand over that Gsx-r 1000, smiling as he slipped his custom helmet off of the handles and slipped it over his head before putting on his gloves and starting her up smiling as he could feel that rumbling engine under him. Twisting the throttle that engine roared to life as he let off the clutch a little rolling out of his garage. He stopped, pressing his chest again as it closed. Sure Teleporting was fun, but nothing beat the sheer joys of true speed. So he pulled out of his drive way and turned out into the road. While in his housing area he kept his speed low, drove like a normal person. But soon he was out and he dropped the clutch hitting the throttle and was off, leaning forward as he leaned swimming through traffic. All staying legal of course.

He was soon pulling up into the parking lot of the university. That loud engine of his crying out as he looked for a place to park. Finally though he simply said screw it. He pulled right up to the front of the parking lot and rolled up the side walk before backing up flipping the switch killing his engine. He pulled his helmet off as he looked around "Higher learning here we come" he said as he cocked the front wheel of his bike and locked it in place. Getting off his bike he knelled down putting his key into the side of it turning and holding it as he reached up and the back seat came off exposing a compartment underneath of it as he put his gloves in that comparment and there were two metal tabes, one on each side, that he could slip the straps of a helmet on. Putting the seat back on he pulled it to make sure it was locked before pulling the key out and putting it in his pocket before unzipping his coat.

He arrived later then most of the new arrivals, seeing as he already had his own place he didn't have to deal with all that room check in nonsense. Just then two girls walked by looking over at him as he smiled, only the left half curling up showing that dimple in his cheek as they smiled back at him before looking back and giggling about something giving him one more glance. "Yep...this should be fun" he said to him self as he started to walk forward to explore the campus a bit. Though he could hear the P.A. system chime in mentioning something about clubs. So he figured that might as well be a good place to start as he headed over to the Gym.

Upon arrival he walked through the busy crowed though he was getting a few looks, mostly due to comments he was making, First up the music booth. He was looking at some stuff as a girl walked up to him from the other side of the counter. She was short and cute in that geeky way.
"You intrested in the music club?" she asked as he looked at her responding "naa I don't play anything."
"well we accept beginners as well." She added
"Do you do Hard rock or metal at all?"
"well not really...we.."she was about to saything but AJ cut her off.
"Yep lame" and with that he turned walking to a different booth.

Next he found him self at the outdoors club, looking at and at some of there stuff their was another girl talking to him "Intreasted in outdoors."
"in a manner"
"And how is that?"
"I like backwoods and mountain roads...not such a fan for the actual back woods or mountains...All I know is once I hear the" he brought his hand up and did the first part of the dualing banjos with a going "Did ding ding" "Yea, it's time to run...but yea remember sequel like a piggy!" He said turning and walking away.

He then moved over to the sports club, this might have something intresting, as the same routine happened again, girl approaches and "Intreasted in Sports?"
"Jesus is this like the stephord wives or something?"
"What?"
"Nothing..do you guys have racing at all?" he asked her doubtfully
"Oh yea, all kinds, we have 100m, rally runs 5ks, triathalons...you look like your in good enough shape to do all those."
AJ had his hopes up at first, but then she started to list things.
"No Racing, not Gym class...racing, you know Motorcycles, nascar, formula one.."
"Oh...ahh no"
and with that he was gone.

He stood back and looked over the crowed at a group of booths, Gamming, board games, computers, and communications.....hell no.

Finally he ended up at the art booth, looking at various pictures and paintings, he acctuly liked art, though it was something he wasn't that good at. He was jsut browsing through as at least this time nobody bothered him and he was about to leave until he saw something that really caught his eye, a picture of a Victory judge and Harely softail. Both custom paint jobs as he looked at it and finally someone bothered him and this time, It was male.
"What do you ride?" he asked as AJ looked up.
"custom GSX-R 1000 extended back wheel and level 3 power commander with custom Straight exhaust." He said
"Oh, nice though I'm more of a crusier guy, that's my Victory Judge, and my dads Harley softail."
"Now those are simply beautiful"

He smiled as he had now just gotten a new appreciation for art. He couldn't draw or paint worth a damn, but he could hold a camera. So he signed up and soon turned around to wander a bit more.

Once they had gotten closer to the Art Club's display booth, Mr. Thompson placed Avery back on the ground and stood back, aware that it was one thing to help his daughter see over the crowd and another to have her on his shoulders while she was signing up for clubs. That's not to say that he didn't keep an eye on her from a distance. He most certainly did. But he also knew that he could do that without embarrassing her in the process.

To the credit of most of the other students, they did notice Avery among the small crowd and made sure to avoid her, though they all seemed confused by the presence of such a small girl. As usual, Avery paid them little to no mind as she made her way to the art booth. Upon arriving, she noticed two guys talking about something, probably the motorcycles in the picture hanging above them for everyone to see. His leather jacket made him seem like one of the kids back at her high school who had usually gotten in trouble for doing stupid stuff. Nothing major, really, just petty things to show how cool they were to their friends.

Before she could think about it any further, a girl with dark brown hair and a name tag that declared her name to be Jenna came up to her and squatted down so that they were at eye level. “Do you need any help, sweetie?” she asked in a voice that would be more appropriate for talking to a child than a peer. “Are you lost or something? Where are your parents?” Rather than respond verbally, Avery pulled her student id out of her pocket and held it up so that the girl could see.

“I-I was interested i-in joining the Art Club,” Avery added, looking away as Jenna's face turned a red that was bright enough to rival Avery's hair. “S-So, could I get some information on how it works and what you do and sign up?” Here she looked at Jenna in the eye, though it only lasted for a moment before she lost her nerve and looked away again.

“Y-Yeah. Sorry about that. Uhm, let's see. The Art Club's main purpose is to provide a place for artists of all media and styles to meet, work together, and talk about, well, art,” she said, standing up and grabbing a couple of papers and a clipboard from a nearby table. She didn't return to the squatting position, however, clearly understanding that that was unnecessary. She did slightly bend a little to hand Avery the papers and clipboard, the latter holding the sign-up sheet. “We do require that everyone make at least two pieces for each of the two art shows, but we don't mandate what you do. We also have meetings on the third Wednesday of every month to see about funds and what people need for their projects, so those are important. But other than those two things, it's all pretty self-explanatory. The brochure has some more detailed information if you want to look that over.”

“Th-thanks,” Avery said, squinting slightly at the cover of one of the brochures before grabbing the pen that was attached to the clipboard and signing her name, unfortunately rather sloppily, as her handwriting had never been great. With a small smile, she handed the clipboard back to Jenna, who promptly set it back on the table after squinting at the name.

“Thanks... Avery,” Jenna replied after taking a moment to decipher her handwriting. “It was great to meet you! Again, sorry for the misunderstanding. I didn't mean anything by it.”

“D-Don't worry a-about it,” Avery replied with another small smile. “I-It happens all th-the time.” Nodding her understanding, Jenna turned to another student who had come up to inquire about the club. Rather than head back to her dad right away, Avery decided that she would take the next few minutes to look at the pieces of art that were a part of the display, marveling at them and finding herself eager to see what she could do.

Paris smiled at how kind the guy was being. He seemed to have opened up bit more since he last saw. So... he'd been playing for a few years but not professionally? "For someone who has never taken classes, you sound lovely. I'm not quite so gifted. In fact, I don't really think I'm gifted in much of anything except for being way too forward." He told Lucius, chuckling. "Oh, and don't worry. I'm not good with names either. I almost called you Luke for a moment there." He continued, the smile still evident on his face.

He walked over and sat down next to Lucius, his breathing heavy. At Lucius' next question, Paris had to stifle a yawn. "Yeah. Marc, my roommate, was taking me out for a run to test my abilities. Let's just say, I'm not... fit. And thank you, I am a bit thirsty, though I haven't been running very long." He replied, taking the water from Lucius' hand. He took one long gulp and let out a sigh, a light smile on his face. "It's a nice day, good for being outside. Though..." His thoughts returned to his things in his room. He needed to get the plants out and start working on his designs... "Well, later I should probably go put my plants out... Do you like plants, Lucius?" He asked, turning to look at the guy.

Kacela arrived at the college. She had just come from a straight flight and long bus ride. Papers in one hand and suitcase in the other. Her filled back pack weighing her down, but it was a regular weight. Something she was accustomed to and even found comfort in it. As the bus hissed and its doors opened for her, she nodded to the bus driver as she departed. The driver drove off as soon as she had taken a few steps away. Kacela was nervous of course, the day was still beautiful and golden bright. She liked the sun, it was bright and beautiful to her. She gripped her suitcase reassuringly and let the memories of her past life slip away. She embraced her new life with a deep breath. A long sigh later, she walked up the small pathway to the college. Its huge gates were cool to look at. Kacela was unfamiliar with how things went and how she should act. But she decided to just remain as quiet and unseen as possible. Though it was tough with her pale skin and golden hair. She stood out horribly and she knew it. But she didn't dare use her gift in the presence and possibility of other seeing her. This was her secret, and she intended to keep it.

As she made her way to the office, she noticed the school was in full swing and ushering in new students. She was late, but it didn't matter. She was excused and allowed extra time to prepare. She remembered the letter she sent, explaining her situation. And then the phone conversations, she was surprised that they accepted her on a full ride. She was sad, but mostly glad to be here now. She entered the front office with the lingering thoughts. Before her thought process was crushed by a voice.

"Dear? Do you need help?"
"Uhm.... Yes.... I'm new here....."
"Great! Would you mind coming over here so i can see you?"
"Mhm...."
"Oh! Look at you, you're beautiful, now do you have papers? And whats your name dear?"
"Kacel Thu'um... And here are my papers...."
"Why thank you, just wait a minute while i check you in. And did you have a nice trip?"
"Mmmhhmmmmm....."
"Not talkative, i understand."
"........."
"Great, you requested a room by yourself? Just head over to the womans dorms and they'll set you up with a room. Okay? Have a great day!"
".....Thanks......"

Kacela was not too horribly shocked by the desk lady. She was sweet and old. But now Kacela just wanted to get to her room and get set up. She wanted to take school seriously, but she wasn't sure how it would be. She was home schooled her entire life. She wasn't sure if she would meet their standards, sure she had lower tier classes, but that didn't mean they wouldn't be just as difficult.
Kacela briskly walked to her room, once she had it, she deemed it a smart idea to go exploring. Learning where she would spent a great deal of her time was a positive plan. She nodded to herself and quickly went to her dorm. Passing few people as most of the students were focused on clubs and what not. Classes were not in session yet as it was still early. Kacela was efficiently guided to her room and she found it sparse and empty. Just the way she liked it, simple and effective. Nothing but a private place to be when she needed it. Though honestly, she was just as comfortable with sleeping in the woods as any bed. Almost preferring the forest. When she had unbagged her things and set up her room, she checked the watch. It was getting past morning quickly, she had the day free to explore. So when went out and began to wander aimlessly, taking it all the sights, sounds, smells, and feelings of where she went. Putting everything to memory. Her heart glowed with the new possibilities. Just thinking about living here made her much happier now that she was set up to stay.

Lu just smiled at the compliment “Well I don’t really believe in talent. More in hard work.” He shrugged. “I’ve been always told you can accomplish anything if you try hard enough.” He looked at the sky. “And I did play at least four hours a day every day.” He smiled at Paris. “Truth be told my dad thought it would balance out the training my mom made me do. Now I kind of am thinking if it was the right choice. I mean I love playing but also moving around.” Lu’s expression turned grim for a moment but it cleared up fast as he dismissed the dark thoughts he had. “At least here I’ll be able to have friends…. Before I didn’t really have time for that.” He looked at Paris.

Examining briefly how tired Paris was he just noted. “Well I think for a beginner this might be too much. Seems your roommate is a bit overzealous. “ He stretched and relaxed a bit more. “Well with time you’ll get better. Just take it slow as to not overwork yourself. Heck I could join you two sometimes for a run or something.” He nodded as Paris talked about the day and plants. “Well I have no issues with them, but truth be told I’m more interested in them because of the properties they might have. I mean for aid, I do like being outdoors a lot.” Lu smiled broadly. “I take it you like growing them? Though I think your roommate hasn’t noticed you stopped. Should we go look or wait here till he finishes the rounds?” He tilted his head a bit.

Marc shot along the course, the thrill of excercise completely enveloping him. He no longer saw the path, but he felt it. He planted his foot and jumped, pushing off a tree with his other, and pulled off a beautiful 1080 airiel and shot off of the high side of the track onto the path ten feet below, tucking and rolling to gain a safe landing. Adrenaline coursed through his veins. When Marc was excercising, everything, yet nothing was clear, he was at peace, yet not at peace, he felt the movement of everything along side of him. Except for Paris.
"SHIT!" He shouted. He got so into the run he left Paris in the dust completely. He pivoted on his foot and shot up the trail hoping Paris hadn't gotten hurt. He was running at full speed now, frantically calling his name. He ran up the path flipping over rocks and hopping off trees to gain shortcuts, hoping his new found friend was ok. As he reached about half a mile from the start of the path he heard voices and stopped immediately. One unknown, and the other Paris. He smiled, relieved he was alright and walked over, a drop of sweat beading down his cheek. There was a young man there, with a violin talking about... Plants. Marc approached the two and said to Paris, "Heyyyy, sorry about leaving you behind there, I kind of got too into the run." He then turned to the other young man and said, "Hi, name's Marc, how's it going?"

Donovan woke up with a feeling of excitement at finally getting to go to the Stalwart University for the first day of the four years he would be there. It was a couple hours earlier than he normally would've gotten up but the breakfast cooking downstairs made him get up and get ready as quickly as possible because it would be awhile before he saw his parents again given that they lived quite far away from it. A few minutes later he was down in the kitchen seating himself for the largest breakfast he had seen in awhile which made him feel a bit guilty about the amount of food the rest of the family had but he hardly dwelled on it. Donovan had to assure his parents that everything was ready to go and that he wouldn't do something he would regret. After several heartfelt goodbyes between his parents and younger sister he had to catch the first of a couple buses that would get him to the campus.

Donovan had a lot to think about while he was on his way over about what he was going to do after getting to the campus. He was still full from breakfast so lunch would be out of the question but he would see what they had set up for the first day and get his room settled with the few things he did bring, mostly clothes and books. Eventually he reached the university and got off the bus so he could stretch out after the long ride before heading into the grounds. He felt a bit out of place upon looking around at the surrounding buildings and coming from a poor background it made some sense. He moved on to the dorm he would be sleeping in heading up towards the main desk to sign in.

"Donovan Fersai." He said evenly making sure he had his papers at the ready when the secretary gave a slightly off look at him.

"Your key, sir." The secretary replied after everything checked out for him and looking as if they were confused at his being at the college.

Donovan checked the room number on the card which he thought was 289, but it ended up being 301 and he had to go up an extra floor to get to it. He figured it might just be anxiety or something that messed him up but once he got into the room after struggling with the reader multiple times. It was pleasantly dim and a simple brown color which made him feel more at home while he got his clothes packed away and his bowling bag next to the bed. The announcement about the clubs caught his attention and he made his way over to the building once he felt ready. It took him a short minute to find sports and he signed up so he could get back into bowling again.

Donovan left the large room to go walking around the campus so he would get a general idea of where everything was, though he had to put his sunglasses on when the sun got him in the eyes after turning a corner. "That was unpleasant." He thought to himself not bothering to stop for more than a second.

Four hours everyday?! Training? Paris watched as Lucius' face turned sour and then back to normal. What was that about? Paris simply smiled warmly. He knew better than to ask because it seemed like something the guy didn't want to really talk about. "Well, consider me a friend." He said, sending Lucius a playful wink.

He shrugged at LuLu, he giggled at his own joke, not really upset by it. "Yeah. I figured it be like that. I told him to prepare to be disappointed. I'm not nor will I ever be the most athletic. But... I like the way you put that. That anything is possible with a little hard work. It's hard when you're whole life you've been raised as if you'd never amount to anything other than what your parents want you to be." He explained, his smile fading slightly. It came back at the mention of plants. "Yes! I've always had a bit of a green thumb. I wanted to join some sort of gardening club while I was here. Most of the time, if you can't find me, I'll be in some sort of garden. Well, once I find it." He explained, chuckling.

He turned to look in the direction of the track at Lulu's next question but just as he was about to respond, Marc showed up. Paris chuckled again, sending Marc a rather forced smile. "It's fine. I just think I'm going to have to take it slowly. I may just come out every morning and take a walk for an hour or two. I'll have to work up to running. I'll get there though. I have two great new friends willing to help me." He explained, the smile now turning a bit more genuine, so large it forced his eyes closed. "I think for now, however, we should head back to the school. I need to sign up for the Gardening Club before they close everything down. That is, if it's okay with you, Marc." He explained, looking up at Marc. "You are my ride, after all." He continued, taking a swing from the bottled water he got from Lulu.

As Paris winked he just smiled sheepishly, he wasn’t used to people being that open towards him, but at his hometown almost everyone knew who he was, that may have been one of the reasons. No matter, after all he wasn’t home anymore and wasn’t this one of the reasons he wanted to leave home? As Paris mentioned his parents Lucius noticed the change in expression and regarded Paris as someone having more in common with than he thought at first. However as his expression changed back while talking about plants he didn’t ask. Not my place to ask, but seems both of us used something to escape.

Lucius noticed someone approaching while listening to Paris, though he knew that his roommate was on the track he wasn’t that much on guard, he felt relaxed having this conversation, the tension he had when he came to the uni disappeared like it wasn’t there. If here are more people like Paris here, then I have nothing to worry about. By this he didn’t mean his little secret but more the meeting people part.

As… Mark introduced himself, Lucius stood up without effort, extending his hand in greeting, shaking it firmly once the other took it. Lucius D’issan, nice to meet you. He smiled in a friendly manner.Good I’d say. How about you? Lu appraised Paris, as he always did with people, it was a bad habit he knew, but that is what was hammered into him as he was molded. Mark seemed to be quite athletic judging by the speed he came closer and how even though he ran that much, he wasn’t exhausted. From what Paris insinuated, Mark would be someone with better stamina than him. Lu aw it was true, the way Mark moved showed considerable experience in either gymnastics or some kind of martial arts.

Lu just face palmed himself when Paris mentioned clubs. I completely forgot about that. He composed himself and smirked. Well I doubt they’d have what I’m interested in but I should go back and at least check it out. Thanks for reminding me. He smiled at Paris then turned to Mark. It was nice meeting you, I hope to see you, well both of you, on campus more often than not. Plus like Paris said, I did offer to train with him, well both of you by extension. He smiled broadly.

Marc smiled and shook Lucius's hand firmly as well. " I'd say I'm doing alright Lucius, but I do feel like crap for just completely leaving you in the dust there, Paris. Sorry about that." He said a bit awkwardly, but smiling none the less. Marc hadn't heard anything about clubs or teams or anything during orientation a few weeks back, so it was rather intriguing for him to hear.
"Wait the have clubs today? Do you know if there's a martial arts club?" He couldn't wait to check out the skill at this school, a prestigious university was bound to have some.
"Ya, we can head back to the school if you're cool with it, Paris, I can always finish with a few laps around the school later. Hey, Lucius, do you need a ride back?", he asked. "If you do, I hope you don't mind classic cars, I drive a 67' refitted impala." Marc smiled brightly at his new friends, he could see this year being fun.
